Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for December 2020

Quick check in and I will come back to read. I did Live Express Your Step #279 which includes ab stacker abs, 44 minutes, heart rate average 110/157,(the 110 seems low for average) 186 calories, 3,217 steps. I then did Perfect 30 mobility timesaver stretch, 20 minutes, 19 calories, heart rate 75/91, 22 steps. Total time 64 minutes, 205 calories, 3, 239 steps.

Today was cardio again, since that is what I am doing this week. I walked uphill on my TM for 60 minutes, 7.0 to 7.5 incline, 3.1 to 3.2 speed, traveled 3.1 miles and burned 606 alories. Next I did an Illaria Athletica segment for 20 minutes, it was clean and press using 10# DB, KB swings using a 10# DB and an Upper cut on one side using a 10# DB and each was for 1 minute, then you go to the other side. I did two rounds of this and I burned 214 calories. Total workout time was 1 hour 20 minutes and I burned 822 calories. My average heart rate was 129 but It doesnt show my what the max was. It was high because I had a hard time talking and I was dripping wet by the time I was done and it was 56 degrees in my gym room.

Debbie, great workout today! Im with you right now on cardio and more lighter lifting, I am getting NO injuries so this is the right thing to do right now. I really enjoyed STS Meso 1 a lot but I am excited to do more of Yvettes workouts again, but I will lift lighter than what she lifts, she lifts really heavy.

Diane Sue, nice workout and way to go on getting back at it. Eat a lot of protein, that will give you energy. Have you been sleeping better? I am sleeping 10 hours each night and I wake up feeling very energetic and my workouts are so much better.

Doreen, way to go on the mountain biking, thanks for sharing that was beautiful scenery. I am glad you had a great Christmas with your sister.

Roselyn, Toby does some really hard workouts. I gave his workout dvds away when i moved because they were too high of impact for me now. I bet you got a really good calorie burn.

Belinda, I think I missed your post for the day, or maybe you didnt post yet? Have a great workout today.

I am putting some Christmas decorations away today and I am getting ready for a clean and organized New Year. Have a wonderful day.

Debbie, nice workout today. I like Kelly's Interval workouts. Each one is different. I almost did intervals # 1 which was light weight and cardio, but decided my neck and upper back area needed more rest. It was a little rough in the plank position with the ab stacker. I put the riser down when I was doing the superman move as it was stressing my shoulders and neck. I am still using my Versa 2. I don't get these things. If I take it back to default it has to learn my workout patterns all over again and it always ends up back to working lousy for the most part. I just don't see the step workout today being only a 110 average heart rate. There was a few moves though that I did feel like I was not working real hard though. I used to have an average of at least 120 even with light low impact workouts. I just always purchased screen protectors because I am always smacking my watch on things. I had read some say their Versa 2 screen cracked. I don't cover it all of the time and it has lasted me a little over a year now. The thing that I liked about the screen protectors that just slip over the top and you can take them back off, is that I can wear my boxing gloves and I have not had a problem with settings being changed on the watch while working out. They do get moisture under them though sometimes, but it wipes off. Your readings are better than mine. I don't think that we should have to push extra to get a decent burn out of the silly watch though. I do that too and sometimes I just think that is ridiculous.

Doreen, that ride looks cool, but I would be afraid I would hit a rock and flip over on my face. Great video of the ride.

Jolie, great cardio workout today. I do eat a lot of protein. Trying to watch the fats though for heart reasons which is not easy. Lately the protein powder has not been too appealing, but I have pushed myself to use some. I have been purchasing collagen bars to fill in. I actually had some tuna on gluten free bread toasted for lunch and it tasted good to me, so I am getting on the mend I think. I had some chicken curry soup I made yesterday and salad for dinner. I have been ignoring a lot of foods lately. Appetite has been weird. I told my husband he needs to bring in the containers so I can take down the tree. It really did not seem much like Christmas with no family around. I will stick the family gifts in the corner till we have our get together.

Hi,

I just finished Barlates Fit Ball Upper and Lower and Hotel Room Inner Thighs. OMG, my inner tights are fried.

I will be back later.

Good Evenin,

I haven’t worked out this week trying to get my eating under control which is a little easy since I need a root canal badly but they are closed for the holidays.

Doreen-I haven’t tried the program yet we got all the Christmas stuff put away and the couch moved out of my workout room so I now have room to do it.

Got our stimulus payment today. I honestly think that people who are still working should not get these payments, but is nice to have extra money. Ours will go back into the economy anyways so all is good.

Today I had a fun, excellent workout. I did RAW Heavy Bag & Cardio. Haven't done this one in a while and really enjoyed it. I need to try all the other heavy bag workouts but don't want to do too many in a week due to my shoulder and upper back issues. Love this one, though. I was going to do the ab work from Heavy Bag 2 but then she did abs at the end of this one. I forgot she added abs at the end. So bonus!

Workout was 50 minutes, I burned 285 (higher than the last time so that is good), went 4152 steps and HR was 112/161. My FB seemed to keep up pretty good with my HR. There were times it dropped to 86-96 but my heart rate wasn't up that high during that time.

Doreen - Awesome video of your bike ride. I got vertigo watching it! LMAO!! So cool. Sorry about your daughters nails, next time you will know. Tell her buy some https://www.colorstreet.com/melissafolk/products/nailartdesigns she can do her own nail art and it is so easy. Find some Youtube videos to show her how to use them. These are all I use anymore. No mess, easy application and they last a good 2 weeks. Love them. Glad you are enjoying your time off.

Diane - How was that step workout you did yesterday? Was it easy or did it have a lot of tricky choreograph? Nice job with it and the abs. I think my New Years resolution will be to not get all stuck on the numbers our FB shows. They are just technical devices after all, and I should remember that the numbers are just guesstimates. I'm sure it will still get on my nerves, though! LOL!! One more good thing about the Versa 3 is the charger, it's just a magnetic that snaps right on. I hated the charger that came with the Versa 2. I really hate cradle charger.

Roselyn - I do thermal imaging now. I haven't had a mammogram is about 4 years. I swear by thermal imaging and recommend it to every woman on this planet. Great job on your workout!

Jolie - Great job with your workout yesterday. Is your son still home? Are you guys still working out together? Dang, 54 degrees is cold. I'm shocked to hear it's that chilly there right now.

Belinda - Nice job with your workout yesterday. Have a great one today!

Roxie - Sorry you have to get a root canal. Our dentists are open, and the one I go to practices very safely which is good. I really need to get my teeth cleaned, I think my next appointment is on Martin Luther King day. LOL! That's cause I'm off from work. Hope you can get that done soon, tooth pain is miserable.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi everyone,

M2 Week 1 D14 Legs is done. I also did BARLATES Fit Ball Bums and Tums (ABS) and Hotel Room Glutes and Outer Thighs.

Debbie - that is so cool you can do your own nails. I will check out the site. Have fun spending that money, lol.

Jolie - I checked in late yesterday. I didn't get my workout in until late afternoon. Both my kids are here plus 5 dogs running around. Great job yesterday.

Roselyn - I had my monogram done 2 weeks ago. Great job with your workout.

Diane - glad you to see you doing more workouts and feeling better. Great job yesterday.

Waving Hi to Doreen and Roxie!

I will try to be back later.

Today I did Cathe Live #327 Christmas Wonderland 202, 46 minutes, 203 calories, heart rate 116/146, 3,240 steps. This uses 3 and 5 # dumbbells and does not have a lot of high impact in it. First 24 minutes works on the floor and around a mat then at 24 minutes Cathe uses the step top. It was kind of fun. Maybe a bit much on my shoulders though. There is some squat thrusts and burpees. I also did Walk Strong 3 Abs Add on with Jessica Smith, 16 minutes, 29 calories, heart rate 92/121, 120 steps. I finished with the first 10 minutes of Walk Strong 3 deeps stretch, 8 calories, 8 steps. I have to get things done as I just got a call that someone wants to look at our house later this afternoon. My goal this year is to try to learn to relax and not push myself so hard. I am the biggest worrier and get so stressed. I plan on getting to bed earlier even if I don't have time to get everything done. I was so exhausted even before I got the Covid virus. I just can't live that way.
Total time was 72 minutes, 240 calories, 3,368 steps.

These devices are all just guidelines. I think if suddenly I started burning lots of calories I would figure something was wrong and it couldn't be trusted. I too try to not let it frustrate me, but you know when you workout for 45 minutes and get 30 calories or something ridiculous it is going to be annoying. BTW, my watch had my Sp02 at 91 yesterday morning. I checked with the monitor my daughter gave me and it said 96. It had me worried since my daughter said if it got near 90 to go to the emergency room. Maybe could be a blood clot or something. So, even with that it is not accurate. Usually it is more than that though on FItbit. Today it is 95.
I love those heavy bag workouts that I have done so far. They are fun. I also like the Step 4 and the one with that step and lower body. Almost did it today, but decided to save lower till tomorrow.

I did a spin video this morning - just followed a youtube guided bike ride through the countryside in italy... Then I did 30 minutes of a Kettlebell workout by Caroline Girvan on YT - very nice paced moves.

Debbie- thanks for the tip on the nail art!!

Diane - I'm with you- I pay more attention to step count on my fitbit than I do with the calorie count.

Good job everyone on your workouts!!

Well, I got everything ready to show the house and they showed up at the door two hours early and the realtor just unlocked the door and tried to walk in greeted by Gertie. I don't get it, as we specifically gave out that my husband works nights and we had a time that worked best unless we agreed on another time like his days off. I told them we would be gone in a few minutes and the realtor said she just thought she would try to come early. Anyway, I went to get my husband up and the realtor texted and canceled altogether. This is the second time which is annoying and why would you just walk in when a dog is barking at the door? Good thing Gertie is not a mean dog.

Belinda, missed your post this morning. Nice work getting legs and the Barlates done. I am glad to be back to doing workouts again.

Roxie, good nice that you got the workout area cleared out. Good luck with the eating.

Doreen, I do watch my steps through the day. It seems to tell me more than the calories. Nice work with the kettlebells and spin ride.

Good Evening,

I called my dentist today and got an antibiotic and pain meds until I can get my root canal done it really hurts tonight. I am getting ready to have a Zyia workout clothing party and wondered if any of you would like to be invite if so I will give you my Facebook address

This morning I did RAW Interval Training #1. LOVED IT! What a fun workout, I can't believe I've never done these before. I like the ones she does that only has 30 second intervals. It had abs as well which is a bonus for me. I did well with this one and used 5# dumbbells throughout. I think Kelly uses 7# ones. I wonder where she got 7# dumbbells from? Mine go from 5 - 8 #. I wore my FB a bit looser this morning and it seemed to work much better. We'll see as time goes on. I need to watch this one again and write down the circuits. I want to do all of the interval ones she has out there in the next couple weeks.

Workout was 34 minutes, burned 229 calories, did 2884 steps and HR was 127/167. It never once dropped to 89 like it did the other day when I did a circuit workout.

Then I walked on my treadmill for 24 minutes, burned 132 calories, went 1.15 miles and did 2820 steps. HR was 103/113. Again, didn't get up to 122 like my old FB always showed when I was walking. Maybe this one is more accurate? Not sure.

Belinda - These aren't acrylic nails, just color art strips that are easy to apply. So much better than the mess liquid nail polish makes, plus they stay on so well. Great job with your workout yesterday!!

Diane - I want to try that Christmas workout you did, I'm just worried because it seems like every time I start using Cathe's workouts again my shoulder and upper back gets bad again. It's such a bummer because I really enjoy her workouts. I may try it if its lighter weights. I need to check the Sp02 thing, I never pay much attention to it. In fact, I don't even know where to find that information. I'll have to see how to do that. OMG on the realtor and showing up like that. People are so rude. She works for you, she should do what you ask of her. Unreal. If you happen to have the Interval workouts typed out where you can just cut/paste them to me, can you send me them in a pm?? If not, no biggie.

Doreen - Your workout sounded like fun yesterday! Anything that has to do with Italy is ok in my book. (I was born there!) :)

Roxie - I don't have FB but if you give me the website I'll check it out and maybe order something from your party. Let me know what I have to do.

Jolie - Hope you are well, you must have had a rest day yesterday. Have a kick butt workout today!!

Looking forward to 2020 being GONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Debbie- I didn't know you were born in Italy. It was a bike path/route through some vineyards and around a lake - so pretty. I think sometimes about writing all these down and then actually trying to go and do them!! I ordered some of the nail art strips yesterday- some with snowflakes for winter!

Roxie - yes- give me the website or link and I will check it out! Have a fun party!

Diane - how rude! Don't people get that there are schedules for a reason?!

This morning I was having a hard time getting out of bed so I started my workout late but still got it in. I'm being lazy this week- working from home a few hours/etc. I did a CDoerner step workout - 80s style music- It was her Halloween video so she dressed 80s style which was funny! Why were leotards ever "cool" they look so weird!

Happy New Year everyone,

Today I did BARLATES Hotel Room Cardio Sculpt + UB plus Fit in 5 Mat Abs. The ab workout was tough. My back started to hurt. Had to modify some of the moves in sculpt and UB, she did a lot on her knees. I did them standing.

Debbie - oh, got it. I still will order some. Love nail art. Great job this morning.

Diane - how rude! People have no manners anymore. Sorry it happened to you. How are you doing?

Roxie - never heard of Zyia workout clothing? Do they sell workout clothes? When is your party? Good luck at the dentist today.

Jolie - have a great workout today.

Doreen - great job!

Looking forward to 2020 being GONE too! See you all in 2021.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Step and Legs 45 minutes, 232 calories, heart rate 125/158, 3,748 steps.
I then did Raw 5 day Strength day 3 just a little of the abs section that was shoulder intensive and then the legs, 21 minutes, 41 calories, heart rate 86/130, 325 steps. Total time was 66 minutes, 273 calories, 4,073 steps.
Legs was 5 sets of both moves
front squat 1 and 1 halfs 10 reps started first two sets holding a 30# dumbbell, I then use 15's for the last 3 sets of 10
Bridges with shoulders on step 30# dumbbell for two sets of 10 reps then 10 pulses then dropped to 25# dumbbell for final 3 sets last set has somewhere around 30 pulses at the end.
Another thought on the house showing is what if I was upstairs taking a bath or something and they just let themselves in. Although I am sure that I would have heard the dog. The woman acknowledged they were early. They were a lot early, not like a few minutes.

I had to hurry and get out to the store as rain, sleet and snow is supposed to hit tonight. A lot of people seemed to be out doing the same thing.

Debbie, I sent you rundowns of the 5 Interval workouts Kelly has. I think there is an Interval Circuit as well that is good. Maybe you have already done it? When Kelly uses 7# dumbbells I wear weighted gloves and 5#. I saw some 7# dumbbells somewhere. I think that my Bowflex has a 7.5# increment, but it would be uncomfortable having that bulk to me. I think Kelly has mentioned her barbell with the two weight plates being an odd weight at 32# I usually go for 30 or 35#. Cathe adds a lot of shoulder stuff with weight to even her cardio workouts. When she first started doing that with the low impact workouts, my thoughts were that we were going to be over working the shoulders in lieu of saving the knees. I started noticing my neck and shoulders way back then. It has just gotten much worse. Also, already it is back to hurting even with me making sure I am stretching. I did not do all of the shoulder stuff with the jingle all the way and she does say you can do it without the weights. I did some portions with curls instead of overhead presses and made adjustments. The Sp02 is built into one of the Fitbit watch faces. I kind of like that watch face. It seems like my battery runs down faster though because so many things are tracking. But then it may be that I have just had the Fitbit for over a year. I have to wear my watch a little loose too. Get it too tight and it does lousy. It is finding the right spot for it and placement too. I have the Kelly workouts typed up in plastic sleeves in a binder.
This was not our realtor. It was another showing the house. My husband discussed it with our realtor last
night and he said it was not right. He is going to be sure that it is addressed that my husband works and sleeps during the day. Our realtor is the son of some friends that our children grew up with. I am sure he will take care of it.

Doreen, glad that you found a fun workout to do this morning. I have been sleeping in lately. Not good when it has to change on Monday. I agree on the leotards. I still have the first Firm workout and the outfits are hilarious. Even the old Cathe one with the leotard and lace leggings was funny. We had to wear leotards in highschool for the girls calisthenics class.
I don't know what that realtor was thinking. I also thought it was rude to immediately text and cancel looking at all.

Belinda, nice work again today. I looked at some of the Barlates workouts last night. I also looked at an Yvette Christmas one that looked like it might be a fun cardio workout. No step involved.
I would do the stuff on the knees standing as well. I don't know why people are so inconsiderate. If someone is still living in the house they should have enough consideration for the schedule.

Roxie, I hope you feel a lot better after the dentist appointment.
