Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for December 2020

Merry Christmas,

Christmas Eve is the German way to celebrate Christmas. Today was a family get together. I got a lot of nice Christmas gifts this year. My son and DIL gave me a year Cathe Live subscription. They had no idea that Cathe if offering a 15% off the year. They have to contact Cathe customer service, hope they can fix it. I also got a sound bar for my workout room from my kids. I got Sweaty Betty leggings from DD. Everything I got was fitness related.

Today I did STS M1 Week 4 D12 Legs. I am debating if I want to continue with STS or use Cathe Live, lol. I probably will do M2 than use CL.

Diane - hope you doing well.

Good night everyone,

Merry the Day after Christmas! Yesterday was great, I got an Apple Watch since my Fitbit is starting to die, and I got 2 Lululemon gift cards, a total of $300!!!! New workout cloths. I also got a subscription to Yvette's new website workouts so I am excited to get back to these workouts because I really need to loose some weight. I also got my favorite bottle of wine from my husband and we will probably enjoy it on New Years Eve. After presents, we all worked out. I walked on my TM for 2 miles uphill, 6.5 incline, 3.2 speed and traveled 2.13 miles. Next I got on my Elliptical and ran 1.3 miles. Then my son and I did ABS with weights and boy that was tuff stuff. Total workout calories burned were 590.

Today I started with a 20 minute TM walk uphill and traveled 1.1 miles. Next I ran on the elliptical for 1 mile. Then I did Yvette Bachman Low Impact Step with weights, focus was on Chest, Triceps and legs with cardio blasts in between the weight segments, I thought I would die half way through the class. Total workout time was 1 hour and 25 minutes and I burned 800 calories. Wow, I feel great. Average heart rate was 126/173..I used my Fitbit because I still haven't figured out my Apple watch yet
.

Belinda, way to go on finishing Meso 1! I might do meso 2, I am not sure yet. I kind of want to do Yvette's workouts along with some total body workouts and my cardio. I have to think about it today. I love Sweaty Betty cloths, that was a great gift! I have gained a lot of weight this year, being locked in the house for so long. I burn the most calories doing Yvette's workouts so maybe I should do those for a month along with cardio?

Diane Sue, how are you feeling? Were you able to see your family for Christmas?

Debbie, what did you get for Christmas this year? You probably got workout stuff too!

Roselyn, How was your Christmas? I was thinking about you and how you did without your dad, I am sure it was difficult.

Doreen, How was your Christmas?

I will check back later to read your posts for the day.

Today I did Cathe Live #322 Fantastic Elastic, 45 minutes, 163 calories, heart rate 106/144, 1,787 steps. I also did Walk Strong 3 Total Body Stretch, 17 minutes, 16 calories.

Belinda, part of my family do their presents on Christmas Eve. We always did it Christmas morning with our children though. I hope that they can get the discount for the Cathe Live subscription. That is great that you got that.

Jolie, it sounds like you got some great gifts for Christmas. I would have probably sat up all night till I got the Apple Watch set up. I do that and wonder why since I reap the consequences of no sleep. You got in some great workouts. I did not get to see any family for Christmas. Our Christmas exchange will be in January.

Christmas was very quiet (my dad was always the life of a party) my mom had a hard time and with covid we obviously did not have our extended gathering on Christmas with cousins. My son had a hard time on Christmas Eve he has not been back since my dad passed and we were at my moms and he saw a picture of dad and broke down.

Today I did a Naomi Joy rebounder workout

Hi,

today I did SBF Butt Lift + Christmas Tight/Seat Target plus Children Christmas stretch. For some reason, I never did SBF kids workouts. I was surprised it was a good lower body stretch. We tried to go for a walk outside, it's freezing cold cold. I was so cold even with my warm jacket, we all turned around.

Roselyn - great job on your rebounder workout today. Sorry you all had a hard time on Christmas Eve. I still miss my mom and dad. Christmas is always tough.

Jolie - sounds like. you got some great gifts too. I do want to finish STS, on the other side I can't wait to do CL. I only heard of Sweaty Betty from my DD. She loves their workout leggings. You will lose that weight in no time. Fantastic job!

Diane - glad you starting to feel better. I always celebrate German Christmas. My husband never mind doing a German Christmas, lol. My kids love getting their gifts on Christmas Eve instead the next morning, lol. I believe they are closed today, my son/DIL will contact Cathe customer service on Monday.

Good night.

Good Evening,

Sorry I have been MIA between work and the holidays it’s been crazy and I am fighting some kind of stomach issue I never know what is going to set it off. I did KCM Build and Burn Kettlebell/Kickbox Fusion. We are expecting 11” of snow Tuesday but it looks more like freezing rain.

Jolie-My DH bought me an Apple Watch just trying to figure it all out. It said I only worked out for 8 minutes even though it was a 30 minute workout. I have discovered Zyia worko wear and I really love it. I have been thinking about selling it.

Debbie-I am still hanging around getting ready to start 9 Week Control Freak by Autumn.

Diane-Our Christmas was ruined by COVID my son-in-law has it so three of our grandsons couldn’t be here so we FaceTimed them and watched them unwrap their presents.

Roselyn, nice that you got in a workout. I am sorry Christmas was so sad.

Belinda, it was 66 here today. We have the cold weather coming in the middle of the week. I am not looking forward to freezing temperatures. My husband and I generally do not wait till Christmas day to open our presents. I guess because we generally both know what we got before we get it.

Roxie, sorry about the covid. It is not fun when we don't get to see the grandchildren open their presents. I guess face time was better than not seeing them at all.

Today I did Raw Box and Tone 35 minutes, 171 calories, heart rate 122/160, 2,610 steps. I also did Walk Strong 3 yoga stretch and strengthen, 31 minutes, 39 calories, heart rate 82/102, 128 steps. Total time 66 minutes, 210 calories, 2738 steps.

Hello everyone!! I'm glad to hear everyone had a good Christmas, I did too. Can't believe it's over already. I got some nice things, my DH got me a new Fitbit Versa 3 - supposedly all the bugs from the Versa and Versa 2 are fixed. We'll see. He also got me a NuFace facial toning device and a makeup brush cleaner - that thing is sweet. My mom got me the L'ange Hair dryer/straightener which is sweet and a waffle maker. So it was a good one, I am very spoiled.

So today I walked on my treadmill, needed to do something. I've been a slug since Friday. I walked for 30 minutes, burned 170 calories, went 1.5 miles and did 3578 steps. HR was 104-124. My FB seemed to be ok with this workout, we'll see how it goes with other things.

Jolie - I hope you have better luck with the Apple Watch versus the Fitbit. You received a lot of nice stuff, too. I love new workout clothes!! Great job with your workout yesterday, you kicked butt!

Diane - So glad to see you working out again. Are you still having issues breathing? I hope that goes away. Glad you recovered so fast! Love Box & Tone!

Roselyn - I'm sure this was a tough Christmas without your dad. I remember my first one without my dad, and that was 12 years ago. I still miss him, he always made Christmas special for us. I hope you found joy during Christmas even though it was a hard one for you.

Belinda - I'm sure if your son gets a hold of Cathe, they will give her the 15% off. Their customer service is usually really good. Never heard of Sweaty Betty, LOL! I'll have to look those up.

Roxie - Sorry you had to facetime your grandkids for Christmas. Such are the times. Hopefully this will be a bad memory soon. We got a ton of snow for Christmas, first time in years. I love seeing snow on Christmas day.

Have a great day!! Hope you all have great workouts if you do one today.

Debbie, I will be anxious to see how your new Fitbit Versa 3 does for you. They really should not sell products that they have to iron out the bugs on. It is rather irritating. But, they have so much good going for them for the price. It sounds like you had a great Christmas too. We really did not do much for Christmas, my husband was off and I got lots of texts and calls. All our presents came early and were from Amazon, so hard to hide them :) No real fitness items for me. My husband purchased me workout clothes and items I had on my wish list a couple of months ago, just out of the blue. No more hard time breathing. As I have ventured through the workouts I decided to try one a bit more cardiovascular. It went well today. I used 1# dumbbells. Nice work today. Stats look good.

I think this virus has changed so much for everyone and how we do things. My daughter had just 3 of them at their house for Christmas as her older daughter and husband had to quarantine because some at work do not wear masks and caught covid. It was a real disappointment for them. They did facetime and played some games together that way. Hopefully they do not get it.

Good morning,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday. I did the last SBF Countdown to Christmas workout yesterday. I did a Christmas 2020 stretch.

Today I did STS M2 D13 Chest/Shoulder/Triceps. I will walk outside later.

Debbie - my son will contact Cathe's customer service today. Cathe customer service is amazing. My DD loves Sweaty Betty's workout pants. You got some nice presents for Christmas.

Jolie - I love my Apple Watch. Apple customer service is amazing. Call them if you need some help.

Diane - I am German, I only celebrate the German Christmas. I have always done it this way. It's suppose to get warmer today. Hopefully I get out for a walk.

Waving Hi to the rest of the gang.

Have a wonderful day and workout today.

I did two great cardio workout this morning. I'm feeling a bit fluffy around the middle and although I only gained 2 lbs. these last couple of weeks, I need to buckle down again and stop eating all the junk.

I started out with a Max Trainer workout so I chose Max Holiday Burn with Toby. Great workout with 8 - 20 second sprints with a 70 second recovery. This one alternated between a resistance of 3 and 4.

Workout was 16 minutes, burned 91 calories (same exact as what my Versa 2 showed when I did it with my Versa 2), went .46 miles, did 1140 steps and HR was 108/133. I do think it clock my HR pretty good so I was happy about that.

Then I did RAW Box & Tone - love this workout and it's been a while since I've done it. I show August. Workout was 30 minutes, burned 192 calories (last time I burned 234 so not sure why so low, was a bit discouraged), did 2993 steps and HR was 117/168.

I'm starting to key my Max Trainer workouts into that Treadmill app I got a while ago. I can custom make workouts on there and although it's geared more towards running, I can still key in my MT workouts as the coaches do them - which I have all typed out so I know what each entails. I will slowly do this with all the workouts I do often so I don't have to renew the subscription in March. It's too expensive, they haven't put anything new out there and the instructors are getting on my nerves when I watch them. So why keep it.

Diane - I agree, they shouldn't have to put out a whole new model to fix bugs, why can't they just fix these bugs in an update? I like this watch ok, but they took the button off so now you have to press the side really hard to get it to recognize you pressing it and my fingers don't work well on any touch screen device so it has issues with the watch. It's getting better and I figured out how to press it to make it work but why on earth did they get rid of the button? Stupid if you ask me. I do like how the bands change out and I ordered a set of all colors from Amazon. Love being able to coordinate my watch colors with what I'm wearing. I'm so glad to hear you are fully recovered, that is great. I really hope this virus is gone soon. Are you going to take the vaccine? I'm still on the fence about it. You might not have to take it now that you had it, though, not sure how that works?

Belinda - I just checked out Sweaty Betty, cool stuff on there. I want another zip up sport bra, I love those, and they have a few out there at a decent price. I may order me one. Great job with your workouts!!

Hi to all, hope you all have great workouts!! 4 more days until this awful year finally ends!!

I finally pulled out my downloads Barlates Fit Ball Series. glad I did. I did Barlates Fit ball Series TB Express = 27 min plus Express Mat Outer tights = 24 min. The outer tights was brutal. I can't hardly walk. I think I have a cramp in my butt, lol. You can find those workouts on YT :) Give it a try.

Debbie - glad you like her workout clothes. Now I have to look at their sports bra. Great job as well today. I am done for today. I hear you on eating all that junk.

Today was cardio and I walked uphill on my TM for 60 minutes, 6.5 to 7.5 incline, 3.1 to 3.2 speed, traveled 3.2 miles. Next I ran on my elliptical for 10 minutes, interval mode and traveled 1 mile. Total miles traveled were 4.2 miles and I burned 691 calories. Since my goal in the next 30 days is to loose weight, I am going to do either cardio or Yvette's workouts along with some kickboxing. I will be lifting weights but in no specific format or rotation. I am just going to go for it and do what I feel like doing on that particular day. I like Yvette's new website and she has a ton of workouts that are above and beyond what is on Youtube. She has weight lifting ones too so I will be trying those soon. By the way, this coming year is going to be my best year yet! I have put it into my subconscious mind and I am going to make it happen. I am going to be in the best shape of my life, I am going to be happy, I am going to be creative and I am going to help other people as much as possible, by giving back. I cant wait for 2021 so BRING IT ON!

Debbie, way to go on the workouts today. You got some great Christmas gifts as well! I love my Apple watch, there are so many workouts you can set it to to get a really accurate calorie burn. Also, I can answer my phone with hit, read my emails, play music and text from it and so much more. It is more comfortable than my FB was on my wrist too. I am so sick of eating and drinking I am off to a juice place to get some nutrients into my body. People gave me alcohol for gifts and I gave it all to my son to take back to college with him to share it with the guys. I am done, it is time to get healthy.

Belinda, way to go with STS Meso 2!!! I am going to stay with more endurance workouts like Meso 1 for another month since my goal is to loose weight.

Roxie, Nice to have you back. I will look into that clothing line you mentioned.

Diane sue, I am so happy you are feeling better and are back to working out with us. I will check back later to read your post.

Roselyn, sorry your holiday was rough. I know what it is like, when I lost my brother everyone cried at Christmas for about 10 years, now I am good. He died 30 years ago so now I can get through the holidays and enjoy myself.

Doreen, I hope you have a great workout.

Make it a fantastic day!!!

Today I did Perfect 30 Perfect Pump Upper body + extended stretch 37 minutes, 70 calories, heart rate 88/123, 415 steps. That is all I did. I had yard workers back out for leveling some more and had to run to the UPS store to drop off a return. I ended up cancelling my Arthritis appointment till next month. I still have a bit of residual cough and some sinus issues. They said not to come in if there is any cough. Now I will be working my appointments around school. I did not push the weights too much. I really felt somewhat weak. I will have to get my strength back.

Belinda, I hope you are able to get out for a walk today. Nice work getting STS done. Glad you enjoyed the Barrelates workout downloads.

Debbie, nice work today. I don't know why Fitbit sometimes is so different from one time to the next on the same work out. It really annoys me. I am getting used to it I guess. Today's was lousy for me because it was just upper weight. Weight workouts are usually really low unless their is some sort of cardiovascular blended in. I love that with Fitbit I can get multiple band colors. Does the Versa 3 have the curved screen? I have had a bit of problem with trying to keep a screen protector on. I finally gave up and have some of those ones that just sit over it when I am doing housework or something where I might bang it around. I will never get another tempered glass one, as I did that with my Blaze and could never get it off to change it once it got kind of scratched. My husband even tried a razor blade. I had extra's for changing, but it was not happening. Hoping if I am careful to allow recovery time with upper, maybe I will be okay and not have that nasty pain. Sorry, that you felt a little discouraged with stats. I know the feeling, and getting a new watch you would be hopeful not to have the same experiences.

Jolie, I am glad you have a new plan and outlook for 2021. I wish it was settled for me. I have been so relaxed since being ill, but it just started really hitting me yesterday going over my calendar, thinking about school, grandchildren's appointments, and the need to probably get packing done and having to look at houses. Had to turn some lookers at our house away when I was sick. I am on a mission to get some strength back, keep up the stretching, and gain some weight back. I know that seems weird, but I have dropped to 108 lb which makes me look like a super skinny person with muscle and veins standing out all over. I need to get back to at least 115. I have been purchasing immune shots that I use most days along with all of my supplements. As far as diet, it has been off and my digestive system is a wreck from eating grains, crackers, or whatever sounds decent to eat. Trying to get back on track. I think the diverticulitis got kicked up with changes. I had forgotten all about it, till my daughter brought it up while I was sick. I had to go back and look at my medical history. I can do a lot of those things with Fitbit, but just do not use the features. I do like that I can do a quick answer to a text and see calls on my Fitbit. I don't let it do emails as it would be going off all of the time.

Funny, I was cleaning out things and forgot I still had my old pda and Dell Digital Jukebox. I threw the PDA away, but the digital jukebox has tons of music on it and all of my cardio coach workouts on it, so I kept it. I don't think I have all of the cd's anymore. So, that was a good find. Although I don't have a treadmill anymore.

Debbie, I would get the vaccine if they suggested it. I don't know how that works when one has already had covid. I have read that they have helped people that have covid with those who have already had it blood or something since they have the immunity after. Not sure if that was accurate though. I get the flu vaccine every year as I do not want to get it. I have had worse flu symptoms than the covid was.

Had a pretty good workout this morning, I chose RAW Interval Circuits. Really fun but not too hard for me. Kelly was dying at the end so I think I should have used 8# dumbbells and not 5# ones. I didn't want to irritate anything in my back, it still isn't right. I worked up a good sweat and had fun with the intervals. She does 2 plank moves so I just did situps for one of them and slow bicycles for the other. She does several intervals at 1 minute each and does the cycle twice through. My FB did good with the first cycle but then my HR dropped for the 2nd one. Quite honestly, though, my HR did feel low at that point. I even did the cycles faster than Kelly to get my HR up a bit more. Good workout anyways.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 208 calories, did 1832 steps and HR was 110/155.

Then I walked on my treadmill and my HR didn't get above 113. My old watch always showed 122 when I walked so I don't get it. I even cranked up my incline to a 6 and nothing, it stayed at 113. I think all these devices are very flawed.

Workout was 21 minutes, burned 119 calories (TM said 140 and usually it's spot on with my TM count), went 1.02 miles, did 2525 steps and HR was 105/120. Not sure where it got the 120 from as it did not ever get that high.

Belinda - LOL on the cramp in your butt. Been there, done that!!

Jolie - I'm in the same boat, I only want to do cardio or circuit workouts which is what I will be doing for a while. They seem safer for some reason. Great job with your workout yesterday. Is your son still working out with you? My new FB (as well as my Versa 2) also takes phone calls, emails, texts, has music I can download, has Pandora, etc. It is a great watch, but still not very accurate with the heart rate. It might need to learn my heart rate patterns before it gets a bit more accurate, my other ones did that. They read really low at the beginning and then seemed to get better. We shall see. I just seen a green shake recipe I'm going to try as soon as I can get the ingredients. It has a green apple, cucumber, banana, ginger, spinach, flaxseed oil, agave syrup and water in it. Looks very healthy. I might get the items today and try it. Sounds like a great afternoon pick me up drink.

Diane - Great workout yesterday! You did well with it and great weights too. I'm hoping my new FB just needs to get used to my HR patterns. I remember when I got my Versa 2 it also read low at the beginning. We'll see. I'm about ready to give up on these contraptions. I guess the Versa 3 screen is curved, its very similar to the Versa 2. I have never used a screen protector. Did you order one for it or did it come with one? Which FB do you have right now?

Hello to everyone else!! Hope you all have a great workout!

Hello- Realized its been a while since I've checked in! When I'm not at my computer for work everyday I forget! I've been off since Thursday which has been nice.

I took my daughter to get our nails done. It was nice but she was disappointed that she couldn't get nail art (I made the wrong kind of appointment for that).

We had Christmas with my sister and her kids which was fun.

Yesterday we went to the US Olympic and Paraolympic Museum which just opened up in town. It was so much to take in - I'd like to go back. Everything is interactive and loads of videos. If any of you come to Colorado Springs you should do it!!

I got a new GoPro for Christmas. We then went for a bike ride to test it out. You can see some of the stuff (my son was wearing it since his helmet already had an attachment on it).

Belinda - great that you got a CL subscription!

Diane - glad you are feeling better and back to working out.

Jolie - I like your plan for the new year and keep us updated with Yvette's subscription service.

Debbie - Great idea to write down the workouts so you can cancel the subscription!

Roxie - Have you tried the new program Autumn has out on BBOD yet?

I got a landmine attachment for my barbell for Christmas and did Perfect 30 Lower Body with it this morning - it worked really well with all the squats and deadlifts so I'm thrilled about that. Then I did a 30 Minute mobility session on Youtube with CDoerner which was really nice.
