Getting Our Licks In!

Michelle what other workout is on body max? I love bodymax 2 and im not sure if i have the original one or not. So sorry about rikin! ,poor boy.

j
Janie i was thinking of doing legs and glutes in place of legs! I love that workout and cardio leg blast so i was hoping to do a rotation but on leg days alternate these two. I usualy hate doing legs but the xtrain legs workouts n legs n glutes made it fun for me.

Anyway i have been behind tjis week on my workouts. I will do legs today and sed how that goes. Tomorrow bin tri

Did stretches 1 and 2 from stretch max today. My body was so much happier afterwards. Gosh, those stretches sure do make a difference. Ripken is still dealing with diahrrea. Showing some slight signs of getting better. A couple of other dogs in our Circle have had bouts of diahrrea of late. Hope it is not something "going around." I'll see how things look tonight and in the morning and then call the vet if need be to take Rippy in.

ReneeP: BodyMax is either on the PowerHour or Rhythmic Step dvd. I'm thinking it is powerhour but I need to double-check to be sure.

Janie: I'm starting the March rotation tomorrow. Looking forward to doing all those great workouts. Smart thinking: listening to your body. I'm with you: don't want to risk an injury.

Michelle

Today was HC Low Max premix 1-4. Had to, not ready for the full 70 min. LOL

ReneeP, I think you replacing Legs for Legs and glutes is a good idea. The whole idea is do workout in a fun way. But balanced too.

Michelle, Great job on those earned stretches. I bet your body benefited for sure. Glad to hear Ripken is showing signs of getting better. Poor little thing.

Take care,

Janie

Working at home today. Snow is just about gone. Sidewalks are clear and Ripken and I can walk without worrying about slipping and sliding on ice. Ripken's intestinal system continues to show very slow signs of improvement. I've totally switched his food to cooked hamburger and brown rice for now. He is not complaining about that! I'm looking forward to a good workout later today: low impact circuit. I've done the step only premix of late so doing the whole workout including the circuits should be a good challenge. Truthfully, I'm a little nervous about it. I just have to remember not to use heavy weights and I think I will be fine.

Janie: looks like you are 4 days ahead of me on the March rotation. I like reading your modifications; they serve as a good reminder to me that I need to make sure I'm listening to my body too.

Wow--we've got some super strong wind here today. I'm so tired of cold, north winds--it is about time for some warm southerly breezes.

Great job on the rotation. I truly lovelow impact circuit .. That is i tbink the second dvd i tried of Cathes! My first was low max that one i fel on my butt lol. I knew i was hjoked when i was into the music smiling then all of the sudden bam flat on my butt and laughed ,thought ok nothing is broken whoohoo this girl is fun! Then i ordered LIC ! Needless to say i had to buy more.

Janie
U r doing a. Awesome job! How is Joey? I am hoping he is coping about his brother?

Today was cardio leg blast. My fav in xtrain i think. I was loving the wo but felt really weak so i modified everything. Last time i was up in weights and got to do the wo with 3 risers! I was so glad to see progress but now i had to do two risers and went down in weight. I did all the moves and jumps but i had to pause the dvd a couple times. I felt i was doing tabata! Im confused on this. I know something isnt right.
Hope i start feeling better soon. I have been eating healthy, just to much. So we will see.

Finally got around to do low impact circuits late this afternoon. The after cleaning up, Ripken and I took a short walk. The pup is resting right now.

ReneeP: we all have days where we just feel like we don't have it all going in the right direction when we are exercising. You did the right thing to scale back. Don't make yourself crazy about it. Tomorrow is another day!

~michelle

Today was Muscle Max. Did a timesaver premix. 54 min. Using the 5# dumbells for biceps I had to stop short a little bit. It's getting better though. At least I'm completely done with the 3 #'s. Man, do I have a long way to go. I remember using 20+ #'s, but then again that's how I got tennis elbow in the first place. Learned a lot from this injury. I am so listening to my body.

Michelle, I bet Ripken truly enjoys the cooked homemade meal with hamburger and brown rice. Fit for a King. Sorry to hear it's taking a long time for him to get better. Spring is just around the cornor, with better weather to come. I see a Chick-a-dee making a nest.

ReneeP, Joey is all packed and ready to go at a moments notice for his brother. He'll drive to MI and I'm staying home when the time comes. Great job on Cardio Leg Blast. Nothing wrong in modifying, you are just listening to your body. You are doing the right thing. I hope you feel better soon.

Michelle, Great job on Low Impact Circuits. Also for the short walk you and Ripken did. Please give him a hug for me.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Springtime is coming to Virginia, at least it feels that way this weekend. So, after walking Ripken twice this morning, I decided to call the vet and see what they had to say. I took a sample down to their office for them to test. No signs of an intestinal parasite which is good. They gave me some medicine to bring home (same as he got in November--the last time we went through this). Hopefully, we will start to see his canine system straigthening out. While I was at the vet, I met a lady with her 4 month old golden retriever puppy. OMG! What a beautiful boy. Well, no wonder. She was from Terrans Kennel in Spotsylvania which has absolutely amazing golden retrievers--truly Westminster Kennel Club show dog quality dogs. Made me feel good to know that a respected breeder of top nocth goldens drove past alot of vet offices to come to Ferry Farm Animal clinic (Ripken's vet's practice). But--then, we've known forever what a wonderful vet, Dr. Witter is. Comes from a family of veternarians who truly love animals.

Cleaned house a little after I got back from the vet; and of course, gave Ripken his medicine. Then I did cardiosupersets. Boy, I really enjoyed that workout. So much fun!

Janie: I was looking at maybe doing the "shorter" Muscle Max on Tuesday as well, simply because I tend to be pressed for time on Tuesday mornings because I have an early morning meeting at Quantico every Tuesday. Glad you are continuing to take it slow with your bicep work. East to west--the signs of spring are making themselves known!

I think u r doing great.! Im trying to follow ur lead on listening to ur body.

Michelle
I hope ripkin gets better soon. I love cardio supersets except that music. I was thinking of muting the music n play my own ... I wonder how that will work! I have mp3 player but not a sterio. Mybe ill look for a speaker for my mp3?

I did low impact step.. I love that one... Perfect length, perfect intensity, not hard to do, easy on brain easy on the body. I needed it just fun, simple. I wanted to do what was on the rotation HS but my calve still not feeling right.
Have a great night

Today Rolly and I went for a stroll for 20 min.

Tonight was Afterburn; Express Intervals 1-5. YOOZIE! I modified! Did the whole thing, was so proud. 34 min. This must be a Hiit workout. Guess what, I've started losing weight. I'm now 7.9 pounds over my goal. LOL

Michelle, Here in WA felt like Spring as well. Love this kind of weather! Great news that Ripken will be OK with his meds. I really like my vet too. He so cares about our animals. When I had to put Molly down he cried right along with me. So touching. Great job on cleanmax and Cardio Supersets. I like that one too. LOL If being short on time then yes the shorter version of MM is fine. You still get a good workout.

ReneeP, Yep, listening to your body is key. Anyone with injuries will learn that lesson quick. Great job on Impact Step. I love that one as well. But I did a shorter version. LOL

Take care,

Janie

Janie
Hi... So what is ur plan of losing? R u doing paleo again? Id love to hear. Lol im happy for u!

Today i have a bad cold.. I feel like the last two weeks its one thing after another. I dont know what to do about work. The other girl will b on jury duty.. It was gonna be me doing front and back like i normaly would but im geting sick. She will panick without me there. Im gonna rest upp and drink tea and broth today so ill feel better by tomoreow i hope

Legs and glutes yesterday, 3 walks with Ripken (1 medium, 2 short), some yardwork, and finished the draft of federal and state income taxes. You think I would have slept straight through the night-HA! Today was lowmax--my legs were feeling the glow from L&G yesterday. Ripken hung out right by my step through the whole workout (just out of range of being stepped on) and got his licks in too. No early morning meeting tomorrow which means I can get all of Muscle Max in--YEAH!

Janie: Yes, do tell--how have you been losing the weight? I bet you just cleaned up your eating plus the regular exercise and boom--you are losing weight. Am I right? You have not written much of late about Rolly--it is nice to hear about him from time to time. You guys must get tired of me writing about Ripken all the time, but he is such a huge part of my life and daily routine. DH says it is like Rippy and I are hooked at the hip.

ReneeP: ick, a cold. That's all I can say. What a pain and inconvenience. I hope it doesn't last long. Chicken noodle soup--good for the soul and the cold.

Michelle

Today was Low Impact Step. I forgot about this one. For sure and oldie but a goodie. Then STS Ab Circuits Stability Ball Abs. I only did about 8 min. of it then my tummy cramped up. like a Charlie horse, then felt it relaxed. Thought it was time to stop. Will do better on those next time.

ReneeP, I Always do Paleo, but I've cut down, I was having to big of servings/portions, so didn't lose any weight. And my workouts are a little more intense so I'm burning more calories. Yea! Sorry about your cold. It's going around.

Michellel, I cut down on my portion of Paleo Diet and am doing more intense exercises. LOL Should have been doing this all along, just didn't feel like it. I paid for that little bit of luxury. You are absolutely right! You know me so well! I never tire of hearing about your Ripken. Rolly is a huge part of mine as well. He's such a good little doggie. When I try to do my artwork, he just doesn't know what to do without my lap. When I'm done for the day I hold him and love him again. Poor little guy. He can't do anything without me.
Great job on legs and glutes yesterday, 3 walks with Ripken. It's time for me to do some trimming in the yard before things get out of hand come Spring. Great job on today's LM.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Rest day yesterday today cardio n weights wanted to get both in so i picked a circuit. Im stil snktting around.. Yuk. Lol

I love low impact step i did that one sat Janie!

Muscle max yesterday and Afterburn today. Oh boy--only week one of the March rotation and I'm wondering if I'll make it through the whole thing. HOW does Cathe manage to make these rotations so challenging? We got some good rain here yesterday so the Preen and garden lime that I put down over the weekend should be soaked into the soil pretty good. Trying to figure out what my next "yard" chore will be.

Janie: ah, you are into week 2 of the March rotation. I may start that tomorrow and take my break day later (or just keep going). We'll see how I feel. It took me the whole wake-up walk with Ripken this moring to convince myself to tackle Afterburn and for my muscles to loosen up from "sleeping." Is it just me but I am super sore in the morning when I wake up. Do you experience this? ReneeP? All I can say is thank God for the morning walk with Ripken because that works the kinks out and lets my muscles stretch and warm pretty good before actually doing anything else (like my Cathe workout).

ReneeP: how is the cold. Cardio and weights--love that one, particularly the buttercup song at the end.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello! My cold is lingering i took sun and mon off and thats y i did cardio n weights.
Today i was looking at what i missed on my rotation it was hs an4 legs last week so i knew my calf wouldnt do hs all the way yet and i know i cant handle legs all the way to long and cardi. So i found one that was kinda a mix of the two. Kpc and legs premix. I did the 52 minutes long one i think.. Kpc med and high intensity with ankle weights. It was perfect! So got my cardio and it,was not as high impact and a section of leg wo in.
Ill do that one again!
My head is feeling better to. Not sure what was wrong. I still have my cold but not as bad mostly sore throght and runny nose.
I was told to try magnesium pills everyday to see if it helps my head... I took one sunday and everyday since, i havnt had onre again yet! Soo im hopeing, hopeing thats what was wrong!

I will never tire of hearing about ripkin. ! He is are special dog! Lol like i think i said before, i feel i know him! And ive come to love him!
Oo muscle max is hard! I may try march rotation after im done with xtrain. I am on week 10 or 11 i have to look on cal im not sure. Lol u guys have a wonderfull day.. It is sunny and georgous here! 60 degrees .. Not that warm but its better then cold and im going for a walk!

My eating has not been good. I don't know why I sabotage this! Thank God Tomorrow is another day to start fresh. Today I did Ride and I must say had to modify, but did keep moving. What a sweaty mess! Love it.

Michelle, Great job on MM yesterday and today's AB. So much rain coming down, impossible to do yard work here. Love to hear the detail on how you wake up. Warming up the body by taking walks first thing in morning with Ripken is crucial to help prepare for a workout. Great tacking AB.

ReneeP
, Great job on the 52 min. of KPC and legs prem. using ankle weights. Still hoping you get better.

Take care,

Janie

Hi ladies--a day late on starting our new thread--but here we go....

Ripken and I have been very happy that the icky weather has bypassed our part of Virginia the past few days. That has meant nice long walks in the morning for us. Yesterday, I did All Step and today was Leaner Legs. One more day to go with Cross Train Express. My legs are really feeling it.

Got to get back to work--be back later.

Good job on ride!
I got home to late to do any workouts! Gr i havnt been doing good at all on this rotation the last couple of weeks.

Did 30/30 tonight.

ReneeP, Try to get back on the horse ASAP. The longer you wait the harder it gets. Come on now, you and I need to do this.
