Getting Our Licks In!

Tonight was a modge podge of exercises. The DVD's I used were Cathe's Core #1 but not all of them and also Horizontal Vol 1 and not much of it. My wrists were starting to hurt.

I'm going crazy here. I've been trying to find the core work from one of XTrains DVD's and can't find it. I'll try to describe it and maybe you guys can tell me which one it is. I'm so baffled!

You are practically sitting up doing core work and twisting and nearly putting your butt on the floor but not touching and continue to do this on the other side . I know I saw this in amazement and couldn't do it. Wanted to practice it tonight but couldn't find that particular core in the bonus core work 1 or 2. So where in the heck is it? Am I losing my mind? I know I saw it somewhere. Jeesh. Please help if you know what I'm talking about. This is driving me crazy.

So happy it is Friday! Did IMAX3 today. I was hoping it would be "easier" after a month of XTRAIN--not sure it was easier, but I made through all the plie jacks which is a first. So--maybe XTRAIN has made a difference--at least when it comes to plie jacks! I'm looking forward to snuggling up next to my pup this evening before going to bed. That's our new thing. I snuggle up next to him on the floor before I go to bed. So far, he is still doing pretty good. He is a little gimpy but no signs of pain. I just thank God every day that he still is still a happy dog and not in pain.

Janie: I am not sure what core workout you are talking about. I think there is some core work on HardStrikes and SuperCuts. Is the exercise you are looking for in one of those? Or are you thinking about the banana situps in core1? Those always get me really good.

Janie ouch HC hurts my wrist to. I have to get stronger in abs and wrist before i do more.. Good job!

Miichelle, awh i was telling my DH about Ripkin ad how he reminds me of our Duke. Thats so sweet.. Imax 3? That is hard to me ! You must be in great shape and healthy slim! Wtg.
I did burns sets cbs i went to 17 pound dummbell foor flys & 20 on chestt press and 25 for rows. I had to wrap ankle weights around wrist cause highest i have is 12 and 15 so i add ankle weights on each arm and rows two ankle weight on my wrist with 15 # dumbell. I atarted with 10 & 12 & 15. Ya and i ddid alittle mega step blast for 15 minutes to get a small anmount of cardiio.
Man i have to save for cathe new wo! I have to do all presales cause i know ill end up buying them anyway so id rather get iit at a good price..
 
Michelle, Great job on IMAX3 today. I've been looking through my DVD's some weren't even Cathe's for hours and hours. Then decided to see if anyone has answered my question. YES! It is from SuperCuts chapter 19 and they are called Alternating Sit Outs. Wow! You and Cheryl (from my other forum) are right. Thank you so much now I can practice them tomorrow. They look so hard, smooth and they are calling my name.

ReneeP, Yes, they have gotten hospice in and a hospital bed for Joey's brother Walt. It's just a matter of time. Thanks for asking.

It is a lovely cloudy, sometimes drizzly, sometimes rainy Saturday. Oh well--we need the rain. We are not in a drought but we are running a little behind for the year, so any precipitation is good. Going to do SuperSets in a little bit.

Janie: Glad I could help out with where that core exercise that you were looking for is. I had a very vague memory of it from SuperCuts when I did that workout back in early January. I'm going to have to go check that one out again. You've got me curious.

ReneeP: sounds like you are going to have to invest in some 20 pound dumb bells. Good for you! It is great when you make that move UP! I'm with you; I will be preordering the new workouts as well. They are always the best price. Hard to believe Cathe is filming again.

I was thinking id love if cathe would xome uo a a sort of webisode on cathe tv on how her dvd ideas get from her mind to conva them to the crew and how it all comes together in dvd format. Id watch every week to see what she was up to all week and id lovee to see how her n crew brain strom and work together.
 
Did SuperSets today. An oldie but a goodie. Those lunges/power lunges on the last set of exercises always get me good. I always forget that this is a total body workout. I increased my weight amounts on many of the exercises which meant I was saying to myself: why do I always think this is going to be an easy one and then it isn't? Will do push-pull on Monday. Trying to do some older Cathe workouts this week.

Today is my rest day.
Testing to see if adding color to zentangles are worth it. Guess it depends on the subject matter. Hmmmm Can you see brightly colored hair on portraits or is black and white and shading better? Just a thought.

IMAX2 today! I have to say tha IMAX2 seems just a wee bit easier than IMAX3. I was doing great up until the 9th blast. Made it through all the plie jacks but I had to take it down on the last two sets of hops in between the plie jacks. Got my breath back on the 10th interval and blew the last blast away! Ripken was so excited for me that he actually got up on the step (which he has never done before). Sometimes my old pup is really something else.

ReneeP: Let us know how supercuts went. Can you do the core work that Janie was asking about earlier in the week?

Janie: I like the color--looks like easter egss in a boat. But I also like the black and white portraits. You could always give a color version a try to see how you like it. You've never done a picture of your pup. Have you ever tried to do a dog or a cat in a zentangle? That might be really neat.

I'm feeling good about the IMAXes so far. I think I will try to get IMAX1 in this week as well.

Wow michelle imax 3 is harder!

I did supercuts yes if u r talking about the one u go down on all four and turn and tab floor with your hand and shoot outs yes, i can do it. I was slow at first but the last two times i did them i was getting faster. If u are talking about at the end situps n pushups i do as many as she does but i start my situps when she starts talking and i count off my sets by the time they are done im done. So i might be slower then them but not by much only because i did these in the military we did 10 situps turn do push ups and keep going til they said stop. So i kinda knew how to do that one.

Well i also added today les mils combat HIT 30 its hard too! I didnt put my all in it cause i was only supose to watch it lol the music was fun so i had to try some ..tomorrow is rest day.
 
Did XTrain Ride today and tried to kinda catch up with Cathe. I did keep going, but never intended to keep up anyway. Whew!

Michelle, Great job on IMAX2 today. Pushing yourself like that is awesome. You did good! Your Ripken is always really something else.;) I like the uniqueness of black and white also with a splash of color every now and then. I have so many portraits to do for my sister Teresa. I decided to do each of her children (9) and her and her husband for taking care of our Mom when she needed it. Still wouldn't be able to repay her for all she did for Mom. In between those portraits I will try a pet or two, it will take some thinking on how to do Rolly since he has very short hair. I'll come up with something.

ReneeP, I have to agree with you on IMAX 3, it's very challenging. Great job on supercuts and Les Mils Combat Hiit 30. You can do the sit outs? Wow, I'm impressed, but you always impress me anyways. Enjoy your rest day tomorrow.

Tonight was SuperCuts from disc 4. This is my new found love. When I first did this disc I could only do half of it. Today I went through the whole thing. I did as many exercises as I could, (not as many or as fast as the crew) but did it. YaHoo!

ReneeP, Yes, the Ride workout is motivating. Have an enoyable rest day today.

I never got back yesterday, but even though a busy day and my mind is ready to switch off, I remembered: I need to check in! So, it rained like the dickens here yesterday and Ripken and I had a wet night-time walkabout, but today it was warmer and we had sunshine. So much better walkabout weather. Ripken usually doesn't mind rain, but it was raining pretty hard last night and he seemed less than thrilled about it. Did Legs and Glutes (standing work only premix) this morning. My schedule for tomorrow will allow me to give IMAX a go in the morning. Wish me luck that I can get through all 3 IMAXes in one week.

Janie: you are sweet to be so understanding about my work schedule. Your new love for supercuts is making me want to do it again, but first I have to get this IMAX thing out of my system. I remember thinking that it was quite a challenging workout--the ab/core work in particular was something else. Doesn't it make you feel good that you can get through the whole thing now even if you have to slow down a little or do some mods? You'll be keeping up with Cathe and crew in no time, I am sure.

Michelle im doing great, as far as still trying to keep with rotation. Im on week 9 but geting bored! Cant believe i said that. Lol not to bad but im getting that feeling like i did when i tried to do a 30 day and could only get through 3 days lol im still sticking it out thou. Today was clb i was looking forward to this one! The rotation didnt call for it about two weeks and i missed it! I was gonna sneak it in earlier but mad myself wait. I keep telling myself i have 3 more weeks to keep at it then i can add in different ones like i miss push pul, i missed leg n glutes. Cardio n weights, body max 2 low impact circuit so many more! Never thought id miss a certain dvd geez. What has Cathe done to me!

Wow i am so glad u r enjoying imaxs i need to see if i have imax.. What other workout is on that? I dont think ive tried it. Eek. I love imax 2!

Hey Ladies,

I am so sorry to have been missing for so long. I am still having going through a very difficult time and having a hard time getting done the things I need to do on some days.:( My workouts have been slipping as well although I know they would help manage my stress, but it is so hard to do right now...

Basically my 20+ year relationship is going through a very very tough patch and I am not sure we will be able to make it through this one...it has left me very raw emotionally and I find myself breaking into tears at grocery stores and other inconvenient times. We are working on it though and have seen a mediator and will be seeing them again to try and see if we can move forward.

I hope everyone is doing well and getting there workouts in!!!

Laura! (((((((((hugs))))))))) im so sorry! I know u dont want to go into detail so i wont press on. However i will say i am having issues myself with my DH of 20 yrs. So i can say i underdstand the crying in grocery stores, even at times at work. I dont wish it on anyone.
Im praying for u. I hope u two can press on and work it out! I just know it seems strange how sometimes one word can change your whole life u once know or happenings can change things. Very sad. We are here for u. Pm if u ned to.
