Getting Our Licks In!

XTRAIN cardio leg blast this morning. Holy moly! Now that is a cardio leg workout. I can't believe I made it through the whole thing. If my coworkers have brought their workout clothes, a few of us are going to do Crossfire premix that is the fitness blast, plyo tabata, and core about 5 this evening. We'll see how that goes. It's a short one--about 30 minutes--I'll get back later for personals.

Michelle

Wow that would b awesome! I want yo do that but dont have a big enough room to have people lol.
Rest day for me yes! Tomorrow is week wait for it... 3 ! Lol day 1 , 2 down 10 to go! I got this! I think. Michelle that cardio leg blast gets me sore about 6 hours after lol i really love it! I finaly have a leg wo that doesnt cause my hips to hurt or joints. Not sure y. I think because it isnt to heavy on my joints and the plyo is just right amont of time for each segment to dig in there but not hurt the knees.. And if i feel knees i just dont go as high. My feet have been much better but i didnt want to say because i didnt want to jinx it. But only pain is around the ankle and it wasnt a pain it is just weird and only,a few seconds.
I have CLB on tap for tomorrow!

ReneeP, Hope you enjoyed your rest day. Yea for week 3. You are doing so good.

Take care ladies,

Ok so I am back.......

Life has been way too difficult lately! On Dec. 15th, while my DH was out of town, our solar system's inverter caught on fire and effectively destroyed our entire solar system! The positive thing was the fire was put out immediately the negative is that we are looking at $35,000 to get our house up and powered again, so over the holidays (which were supposed to be at our house) Ive had to move into my mom's basement while we figure out what to do...insurance is denying coverage....My DH has lost his license from that incident in October....it was the holidays...and then I got hit by that terrible flu and was incapable of getting out of bed except to use the restroom and even that made me break out in a cold and clammy sweat...soooo....

I am asking for support in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through all this craziness! Over the holidays I had a couple of ski days, to jogs and a few walks. I had set it up so it was my active recovery week so that is all good, but then I had one week of classes Mon-Tuesday and woke up sick on Wed.~:(:mad:

I am hoping to start Xtrain Undulating Rotation on Thursday! I have a Dr Apt in the morning to hopefully get some antibiotics as at this point I think the flu has turned into a sinus infection...

hope the rest of ya'll had a less stressful holiday than me!

Today is Ripken's 12th birthday. I sang Happy Birthday to him at least 3 times this morning. He wagged his tail and seemed happy, but he was probably happy about the treats I was giving him. I am happy to have him here for one more birthday. He will get a birthday chew bone tonight, but I honestly don't think we could spoil him anymore that he already is. Well, okay--if we let him get up on the furniture, he would be more spoiled. As it is, Ripken has 3 dog beds in the house and he rarely lays on those so I don't think he is missing being on the furniture too much.

Laura: I am glad that you checked in. I figured something or things must be up for you to be away so long. You have had quite a time of late. I sincerely hope that you are able to get rid of your illness and things start to calm down. It is good to know that you are all safe, though. You are going to love XTRAIN.

I just did a stretch today. I am going to start one of the 30 day XTRAIN rotations tomorrow. Looking forward to it!
Michelle

UPdate: Tonight was AOLH premix 2 with emphases on chest. Beat red sweaty mess. Just the way (ah hu ah hu) I like it (ah hu ah hu).

I will come back with personals and to post my workout. In the mean time I have another drawing. It's called "Carly". She is my 2nd niece and has a rare condition that causes hair loss. That's why the lack of eyebrows.

Will be back!

It is still raining here--ARGH! This is like the 6th day of grey, drizzle, and rain. And now, maybe a little snow thrown in for good measure, but that remains to be seen. Ripken and I did have a nice walk in sprinkling rain this morning, but the boy wanted to walk and I didn't have the heart to shorten it. The I did XTRAIN, disc 5, legs, premix 1: standing, ball/chair, floor, and delts. On the last set of leg presses with the 5 pound weight, I think I had an out-of-body experience, at least it seemed that way. Fun tough workout. The I had meetings and Quantico and now I am back home. Will work the rest of the day from here. So, fortunately, if it does snow, I will not have to deal with traffic.

ReneeP: Sometimes when I'm doing a rotation, I have to switch things around a little because of my schedule. I do not think that it makes a difference. OR sometimes I take a break day and then just pick up with the next workout the following day. OR with XTRAIN, Cathe gives us so many premixes, maybe you can do a premix from Hardstrikes that is shorter in length but still keeps you pretty much in synch with the schedule. And thank you for pointing out to me that you changed your avatar. Love the picture of you with your pup.

Janie: I am slow today. Took me a while to figure out AOLH, but I got it. I really like that workout. The picture of your niece without eyebrows made me think of my early teen years when I hated my eyebrows--they were so bushy. So, I plucked them so they were not bushy anymore. Over time, I haven't had to pluck them as much (must be an aging thing) and of course, now they are turning grey so I have to get them colored when I get my hair done. It's funny how things change as we age, isn't it? I wonder if Carly's hair loss condition will become more or less severe over time?

Michelle

Well it has been so pretty here! I heard today we are actualy going to get snow tonight! Ha ha sc rarely gets snow.
I did hardstrikes yesterday i had a headache still but i did it then went to the tub and it actualy eased my headache some. Today is chest, back, shoulders.
I got,a pair,of gravity defyers and they are supose to have spring on heel but now that im waring them i wish the spring action was in for foot. I walk more on the ball of the foot hum. It did seems to take some of shock when i jump for plyos but i diliberatly have to put my weight in the heels.
Im hoping its a matter of getting used to them.

Well I am not 100% better but well enough to try Xtrain.....it was driving me crazy reading everyone doing the new workouts...so I began the Undulating 90 day rotation today...first workout was Chest, Back and Shoulders, which I really enjoyed. I also did the core routine #1 minus the planks. I did feel weaker than I normally would and I had to drop to my knees for push-ups which is unusual for me! Reminds me when I fist began Cathe workouts and I had to do all the pushups on my knees! Guess I have come a long way over the years!:D

I couldn't find where I could enter my weights on a workout sheet like we can in the STS series. Is that not a function on the Workout Manager for Xtrain that is similar? Tomorrow is Cardio Leg and I wonder if I will be up for that yet?

Thanks for the encouraging words it is a weird time for me, but I guess I just need to focus on what I can control right now which is my diet and my exercise! I did good over the holidays and didn't gain any weight!

Sounds like everyone is enjoying the new series....I have to go pick the girls up from school then I have an appointment at the apple store and then it's the dinner, homework, bed routine!

Yesterday was disc 5 Legs with premix1 and today was disc 8 Hard Strikes premix3. Whew! With modifications of course. Not where I want to be yet, but getting there very slowly. Got ta make it safe for me, even if it's a bit too cautious. Hey, these workouts are awful long. I know, quit complaining.

Michelle, Hope you have sunshine soon, it can be so dreary when it's raining so much. Great job on you and Ripken walking. Also on disc 5 legs premix1. It's a good one, out of body experience is a good choice of words. LOL:confused: I lost my eyebrows (they are now barely peach fuzz) the first time I plucked them at about 15 or 16. I don't know what happen, but I can relate. Getting older is not for the faint of heart.
Carly had this condition ever since she was a baby. She is now 14 and from what I've read about it, she will always be hairless. I think she has adjusted to it very well though. She has friends, good grades and she plays for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra playing the Cello, and of course very reserved. I'm so proud of her. Carly says she likes her portrait, it makes her look like Medusa. I'm glad that the story tellers out there portray Medusa as having a beautiful face.

ReneeP, Enjoy your snow if it's so rare. Great job on HS. I'm going to have to look up on the internet about gravity defyers.

Laura, I have missed you so MUCH! Great job on Chest, Back, and Shoulders and the core routine1 -planks, and enjoying it. It will take a little while for you to get back where you were, but the good thing is you have muscle memory. It won't tale long at all, I promise. Not like it did the first time you started with Cathe. I'm already feeling better results in my coming back to workouts. Yes!

Take care ladies, we have such a wonderful group of ladies here.

Janie

Laura ! Hi! So i gotta ask, you say you did, do all push ups on toes before?? That is neat. I can do half on toes but gotta go to my knees halfway through. But same with abs.. Ugh..
Im doing 90 day rotation.. Im on week three..
Janie i think the wo as is, is less tiime then the premixes. I think there about any where from 42 to 55 minutes. Ill have to check. So far my rotation there is only one long wo that is legs 80 min! But i am lucky that has came on each day id need off so it was doable for me. Next time it comes up it is 60 min premix. And its funny cause thats what gets me going i tell my self come on you can carve out an hour, geez renee its all under an hour.. It is 6 now before ya know it its over. By 7 if u stop prograstinating youll be finished and feeling better, now lets go!
Lol i gotta talk to myself.
Im having bible study here, i need to clean go return a shirt i bought, exercise and have something to munch on for the church friends. I think the safe thing is fruit n veggie trays.
Today btw is legs! But its 60 min not the 80! Yaaa bbl to let you know how it goes... No headdache today . Thank god

You did 80 minutes of legs

Renee, that is incredible. I was too tired to work out yesterday, but I will try to do some step today, Low Impact Challenge and a leg workout.

Well, thankfully, no snow here. It actually stayed to the southern part of Virginia. The sun shined today but it was cold--not bitter cold, just cold. Ripken likes the temps when they are in the 30s and 40s, so I do not mind if my pup is happy. He got to see his buddies on our afternoon walk today: Rex, the young springer spaniel, and then his girlfriends, Skye, the yellow lab, and Summer, the black lab. He visited with the girls about 5 minutes and then he was done. Exercise today was Tabatacise, premix 12, which was tabatas 1 and 2, burn set back, and core. Two sets of tabatas just about did me in. I think the XTRAIN core workouts are great. I'm really feeling my obliques this week.

ReneeP: sounds like you have finally gotten into the exercise groove. Fun, isn't it? And talking to yourself is a good thing--you are providing positive reinforcement to yourself.

Janie: it is funny to hear you complain about the length of the workouts. You are retired for goodness sake. So, yes--quit the complaining!

Laura: I think that SNM is still working on getting all the XTRAIN extras loaded on the website. Gosh, just getting all the premixes into the workout manager calendar had to be a huge undertaking. You might want to ask if they are going to load the XTRAIN workout sheets online like they did for STS. I do not recall reading about that. It is so nice to have you back: TWICE in one week--YEAH!

~Michelle

Laura--I checked the forums for questions/comments about new Cathe workouts. There was a recent thread asking about the XTRAIN workout cards (see Thread: Work out Cards for X-train ready yet?). SNM answered that they were busy dealing with other technical difficulties this week and hoped to have the XTRAIN cards up some time next week.

Michelle

ha ha that is funny Michelle, that is righti forgot Janie has retired lol, get her!! we need it once in a while, i need it more then others lol
Awh he ahs buddies he goes to see? how sweet is that? lol My little ugly dog well Mable she will cry for the dog next door! It is her brother and she was taken out of there at 8 weeks and she still remembers him she hadnt seen him at all for a year and then he was out walking and she saw him and cried and cried to get to him lol so cute! Oh i hope it is good i talk to myself!! I wonder at times I think i talk myself into my headaches i think so much, if you can hear the conversations i have with myself, youd get a headache too! lol

Janie you get a cracking lol Michelle is getting her workout whip and she is gonna get us lol I had to laugh.. I think your pics are good, i bet what you do is keep twicking on perfection thinking something is wrong with it when there is nothing wrong till you keep twicking on it lol, Are you a perfectionist?

Laura how are you doing now? things starting to turn around for the better yet? I hope so!!

Great job Catlin on Low Impact Challenge and a leg workout!! Hope you are doing better.

I did legs today like i was supose to i was a good girl today.. Im so happy to finaly be in the mood to do what i gotta do again.. i missed the feeling of loving the exercise part of the healty living lol.. I do love this rotation thing.. i think if i can do a 90 day program i can do other rotations dang it!! I was thinking i HOPE i lose weight but my main objective is eating healthy and finish the rotation i started once and for all to prove to myself i can do it.. I can finish what i start.. then if i lose weight it is gonna be a bonus.. i have not gotten on the scale either i will measure myself after the 90 days.. that is the plan..

Tonight was Disc 6 CLB premix5. Whoo! I'm a sweaty mess. :D

ReneeP, Love how you get your self reved up to get through the exercises. Enjoy the bible study.

Janie: it is funny to hear you complain about the length of the workouts. You are retired for goodness sake. So, yes--quit the complaining!

Michelle, Good job on the walking with Ripken. 30's and 40's are to cold for Rolly and me. LOL You two are brave. Great job on Tabatacise prem.12. Congrats on the DOM's in the core area. :rolleyes:O alright, I'll not complain again. ;) maybe

ReneeP, Yes I am a perfectionist when it comes to art. And what you described is exactly what I do. Got to leave things alone once done. But then again maybe a drawing is never really done. Yep, Michelle's cracked the whip, we better do it!
Great job on legs. Once you do a rotation I think you are hooked forever on them. I'm liking what I hear about you doing a 90 day rotation. You can do it. OOO Love the plan of not going on the scale for 90 days.

Take care ladies,

Janie
