Getting Our Licks In!

Hi everyone. Been a bit busy and haven't had a chance to check-in. Flew down to New Orleans on Tuesday. The weather here is great: 70+ degrees. Not missing the super cold in Virginia. The good news is that XTRAIN travels very well. The hotel we are staying in has a pretty good fitness room with enough floor space to do Cathe cardio workouts and they even have a step, and of course, free weights. I've been able to stick to the 30-day XTRAIN rotation which has been great. My workouts have been super early though: 5 in the morning which means I have had the fitness room all to myself. We are heading back to Virginia in the morning. Going to switch to an early morning flight so I can get back and home before the next round of light snow comes through.

Being in New Orleans, it is hard not to over-indulge. The restaurants here are outstanding. The last few nights I've splurged but what the heck; I've stuck to my exercise, so why not?

ReneeP: I have no doubt that if you keep exercising and watching your diet that you will get back down to a better weight for you. 149 is not horrible but at 5 foot 1 inch of height, you are right to want to lose 20 or so pounds. Plus, I think from a mental point-of-view, you have set a goal that doesn't seem insurmountable. You know I am a HUGE fan of Cathe's rotations and I think that if you stick with the 90-day rotation and then keep on following different rotations, you will be amazed at the progress that you make.

Today was All Out Low Impact HiiT: Premix 4, Low Impact Hiit and Burn Set Shoulders. Beat red and sweaty! YooHoo!

Laura, Great job on Burn Sets Chest Back and Shoulders. Even if you don't have the correct weight, you did it and it counts. It would be a wonderful gift for your birthday. Hope you get some. So glad you are listening to your body when you speak of skipping biceps if they are still sore. Good idea. It's OK, they are just taking longer to repair themselves. Haven't done any of the 100 rep challenges yet. I'll get there and can't wait! It would be so cool if we could go to the RD next year.

Michelle, 70 degrees sounds so deliciously wonderful! So cool you being able to stick with the XTrain rotation. Yea! Well, going home to snow is poo poo, but there is no place like home. Enjoy. Enjoy NO and the restaurants there, it's not like you do this all the time. Enjoy one for me as well. LOL

ReneeP, How ya doing?

Take care ladies,

Janie

Hello all

I feel a little bit better today, so I will do a short cardio. I wish I had the cardio from Cardio and Weights, but it is a bit expensive, so I won't buy it now. I have some very lucrative personal training sessions coming up in February, so I will try to buy it them. I also just bought the FT7 heart rate monitor, as I was having no luck with the FT4. I hope this one will be better.

Thanks for reading. I also lost the photo of my children, as Cathe deleted all my folders, not just the one I wanted.

Did not get to exercise yesterday. Got up very early to catch the 6:30 am flight to Washington DC. Was back home by noon, but very tired. Ended up taking a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Today I am back to "normal." Did XTRAIN disc 5, legs, premix 1. Love these workouts. Also enjoying being home with my DH and Ripken. It is not quite as cold, but still too cold for long walks. So, we are sticking to shorter walks, just more of them (well, whenever Rippy wants to go out). He stuck pretty close to me yesterday after I got home. I guess my sweet boy missed his mommy. It will probably take me a week or two to recover from all the good eating that we did in New Orleans, but Lord, it is worth it to splurge every once in a while.

I've missed checking out what everyone is up to. It looks like everyone is sticking to their rotations. I'm just loving XTRAIN.
Michelle

I did the premix of kick, punch and crunch

I did the cardio one, and I did it with the four pound weighted gloves. For a while, I could not find the remote for my DVD player, but I prayed to St. Anthony, and I found it. It might of been the best that I only did the cardio premix, as I am still getting over the cold. If I feel better tomorrow, I will do more. Thank you for reading.

Tonight was disc 6 Cardio Legs Perm5, burn set bi's

Michelle, Your body must have needed that rest. Sounds like you had some stress. Glad you are back to normal. Great job on XTrain disc 5, prem1. I'm glad you enjoyed New Orleans great food. It is worth it every now and again.:)

ReneeP, No not HS, that one hurts my feet, it's very hard on them, but once my feet get use to it, it could be one of my favorites. I love the Leg Blasts, so much fun.

Caitlin, Great job on the cardio with weighted gloves.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Hi everyone....I had a few rough nights of not sleeping with this full moon! UGh so I took the days off...I am still dealing with a lot of stress and didn't want to push my body deeper into stress with some hard workouts! I know workouts can be stress relieving but I feel like my body is pushing fight of flight mode while pumping out coritsol and stressing my adrenals so I wanted to listen to my body and rest.

Today I picked up the rotation again with the workout that was on schedule for today which was Xtrian legs. I did all the sections but the ball exercise since I haven't brought my ball down to my mom's yet. I am thinking of doing hard strikes to but again I need to watch for over doing it and feeling a little tired now...

Rest day yesterday will post again later after my exercises.

Laura, I'm so sorry about your problems. I looked up coritsol and here is some info you may already have, but just in case you don't, I'll insert it here:
Factors generally reducing cortisol levels

Great job on XTrain legs. And also Hard Strikes prem. no conditioning. Love that one too. Now relax enjoy some of your favorite music or watch a funny movie and black tea. Or go out and get a massage. Just please take care of yourself.

ReneeP, You too. Be kind to yourself. Talk later.

Janie

A little bit of ice on the sidewalks and roads this morning, but the temps are up now and the frozen stuff is just a memory. Ripken and I took a very slow and careful walk this morning. Poor pup had a wet coat that was almost to the point of freezing when we got home--and we took a short walk! But I got him good and dried off and warmed up so he was no worse for the experience. Did cardio leg blast and have been working at home. Back to the office tomorrow.

Laura: boy, you sure are having a rough patch. Janie provides lots of good options. Just take care of yourself. ((((((HUGS)))))).

Janie: yeah for the rest days! These XTRAIN workouts make you appreciate the rest days, don't they?

ReneeP: wow, week 5 already? Hard strikes seems to be a favorite of all here. I did that one yesterday--I like it more every time I do it.

Michelle

Me too Michelle but really i cant seem to pick a fav. I also actualy enjoy the weights! It does not hurt my back at all!
But when im at work and have to sit that is what causes lower back to hurt. But while im doing xtrain weights i dont hurt during, like i did with the dvd that uses barbells.

I am doing chest back and shoulders tonight.

Sorrrrrrry everyone, been on a two day eating spree.:mad::eek: Feeling sorry for myself. Without going into a boring story, I feel neglected by my daughter. She won't return my phone calls (usually she's to busy) and she has a copy of herself and Cody (grandson) of the artwork I've done, and not hearing anything. Very frustrating. I'ts not her fault for me eating that way, should have picked up a barbell instead of junk food. Not a good choice!
Went shopping yesterday for healthy food, but also bought some junk food. The junk food is almost gone. Good news the healthy food is waiting for me. Decided today and the rest of this month will be doing cardio and going back to a much healthier eating habit, need to lose that 8 pounds I've gained since Vegas. When Cathe has her rotation posted, will be doing that one. Hopefully she will have time even though the Road Trip is on. If not will be searching for an older rotation.

Phone rang while I was typing this and it was my daughter saying how she loved her's and Cody's portrait. How about that? I even had a feeling before I answered it that it was her. Erie! We are OK now.

Will post workout later tonight.

Michelle, Glad the ice is gone for you. Great job on walking with Ripken and Cardio leg blast. You are doing so well with your workouts.

ReneeP, I have to agree with you and Michelle. LOL Enjoyyour chest back and shoulders tonight.

Take care ladies,

Janie

It's OK! I believe your body is hanging on. Just keep doing what you are doing. Eating healthy, exercising and forget about the scale. As long as you are doing less caloric intake and a rotation you will be fine. Sometimes if you over exercise, loose sleep, stressed out... our bodies do just that. Realize that even a pound a week is a fantastic thing. It may take you longer, don't let that discourage you. You also will have good weeks and lose more than that, but again, don't weigh yourself, just keep doing those good things to your body for the rest of your life and you won't need a scale or even measure. Just continue on the long journey and I promise you will be just fine. One other thing, if you still feel your clothes aren't getting any looser, maybe check your thyroid and see if that's OK. I'm cheering you on and sending you positive vibes your way.
