Getting Our Licks In!

Hello I was letting you guys know i do not have a fracture that is great news. However it is making me feel a little crazy he says it is planter facsitis, not a spur but i alway thought PF was caused from a spur. well anyway i have had a bone spur and panter facsitis before on my right foot and this feels different and i was not down this long at all. He says it appeared to be torn ligiments I guess that is PF? Well anyway, I am to not do anything for 4 weeks, but i am going to continue lifting and hopefully DH gets my elliptical to working.

Miichelle:. So i hate to hear your dog is slowing down! Oh that kickbox one i have beenlooking at getting! I love the KPC one so i was thinking that one will be as fun. I usualy hate Kickboxing lol I had TAebo and could not get into him. But Cathe KPC is amazingly not boring!! I agree on the Gas prices i got 11 gallons and i paid over 40 dollars! It is crazy, why are people against drilling here? I dont understand that.

Laura: I hope you and family are okay i will pray for you guys.

Janie I have just got the gym styles legs in the mail im thinking or doing that one for a weight workout to try. Nice job on the wedding video i have heard about it but never saw a clip yet. Oh and i love rhytmic step it is soo fun!

Well goood night! Hope you all have a safe weekend! Oh are any of you guys on FB? If so find me I dont know what your names are on there. I am Renee Pruitt. ;)

I was having fun yesterday second handing and bought 3 beautiful bottles (yellow, red and green) that I want to use as hummingbird feeders. I ordered the feeding tubes and they should be here soon. It's for our Beach House. Here is a photo of it so far without the stopper feed tube. I used a coat hanger and also wanted the hummingbird to perch and relax while enjoying the nectar.

Today I did RS again. I love that one and man o man I was sweaty!

ReneeP, Such great news that you don't have a fracture on your foot, but must be frustrating to have planter facsitis. Do you think Birkenstock shoes will help? I have no arch support in my feet and these shoes help me a great deal. If that's the same thing. I don't know. My tendons are stretched out because of it. I hope your 4 weeks of recovery will be fast so you can do more cardio. Good that it won't stop you from doing other forms of exercises. The Wedding Video is not on sale. I just happened to purchase it once at a second hand store. I was very lucky to have it. It turns out that is one I keep reaching for. I'll search for you on FB.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Happy April Fools' Day. Ripken and I have enjoyed several walks today and we will probably get another in before the day is over. Yesterday was a busy day. I pulled weeds in my garden, sprayed the yard with weed and fedd, washed all 3 of our vehicles, cleaned the house, and managed to get in Yoga Relax. It was a great day for working outside and I took advantage of it. Today has also been nice. Took Ripken out and brushed his coat really good with his shedding blade. He loves getting brushed/combed/petted--whatever, as long as all the attention is on him. He hung right with me today while I did Body Fusion--used 8 pound weights to up the intensity a little. I may did FitnessFreak's "get ready for summer" rotation if Cathe does not post an April rotation. Haven't checked that thread yet.

Renee: Plantars fasciitis hurts--no two ways about it. I had problems with that a couple of years ago--no fun at all. Hope you heal up soon. I am on FB but haven't been there in about 2 months. Need to check in and see what is going on every once in a while. I don't even think I am friends with Janie on FB; I guess I did not realize that she was there. Laura is on FB too. Don't feel bad about my Ripken slowing down--that is part of the circle of life. I'm slowing down too, so I don't really mind so much. Golden retrievers get really mellow with age, but Ripken is still a clown and we enjoy every single day.

Janie: you are so creative. The bottle you found looks beautiful. It should make a lovely hummingbird feeder. I saw that you suggested to FitnessFreak that she do a rotation in honor of Sean O'Malley. Did something happen to him?

Michelle

Janie i love the bird feeders. I agree that is creative. I hope you slept well last night!
Michelle.. wow u have been busy! I have had to do inside stuff again. I did go outside and do some raking around my roses. Such a nice day. Im glad you got in some workouts as well. My lab is mellow to. He is such a big baby now. He is getting old and sensitive. Lol he whines alot now to get his way and he loves hugs. He puts his head and upper body on you to get lovens! He knock you down.

Well i have been takn the pills the doc gave me and it was helping. I went for 1 mile walk and i could not help myself.. i had to jog ... lol it was slow but i did it. 2 miles. Now i can feel it again. But i love to jog. Its taken me over a year to like it well now i lov it. Lol well im icing my heel in a bit. Have a great evening! !!!

Today was my birthday (61) and Joey took me out to a play (Enchanted April) and to Anthony's. We had a ball. Also, when I got home I did disc 33, shoulders, triceps and biceps. Love those kind of workouts!

Michelle, Great job on several walks with Ripken. Wow lots of walking. You were such a busy lady with all the work you did in the garden, cars, house and Yoga Relax and groomed handsome Ripken. You deserve that one.;) Great job on today's BF while using 8#'s. Good for You! Which rotation did you decide to do? Sean O'Malley died. No one knows what happend to him yet. We are waiting for that news once his family tells us. It was such disturbing news. He was a charismatic and kind person.:(

ReneeP, Thanks to your pep talk I slept like a baby.:) I'm glad you are feeling better. Jogging already? Do be careful, you don't want to reinjure your foot. Ice your heal good.

Take care ladies and have a nice evening.

Janie

Gettn ready to go to work. Well i knew id pay for it. Im limpy today. But it felt so good yesterday! Lol.. ok happy birthday Janie! I didnt know that. I dont know if i can do anhthing today or not. I dont have a bike and my ellipticall is not working. I cant afford to by new stuff yet. We will see. Have a great day guys..

Hi! :) looks like its been awhile since I posted so I have some catching up to do! It's nice to have some activity back on our thread!

The girls started Spring Break last Friday so my schedule has been a little whacky, the last week of school always has lots of activities including the girls class play which was amazing! (of ...course ;-) says the mom. We are doing a 'Staycation' which we are all very happy about!yesterday was STS legs and this morning I started anew boot camp style class at 6:45am and will have my two normal classes this evening... I am going to have to see how my body likes this 3 class day with 2 being high impact, I'm going to have to pace myself for sure, not doing every thing in both classes.....

I'll catch up later have some work I need to attend to...

Cathe posted a rotation for April but I am going to do Fitness Freak's Get Ready for Summer Rotation. She has a nice blend of old and new workouts in the rotation that is very appealing to me. So, this morning after a nice walk with Ripken, I did Afterburn. Good golly, Miss Molly, that is a tough workout. I admittedly have been taking it easy the past couple of weeks, but I'm certainly back to the sweat-factory workouts now.

Laura: so glad to hear from you. I was starting to get worried but sounds like you have just be busy. A staycation sounds great. It is nice to go away but it sure is nice to be home. Two weeks later from our Caribbean trip and I have final caught up on my laundry. Crazy.

Janie: Happy Birthday, one day late. I can't believe I forgot about our April's Fool day baby. You posted very late--sounds like you had a wonderful day.

Renee: sorry to hear that you are feeling a little discomfort after your jog yesterday. Maybe if you just stick to walking, it would be better. Ripken and I walk first thing in the morning and I find that it helps stretch out my feet and legs a bit because I'm always a little stiff in the morning.

Time to get back to work.
Michelle

Hi Laura I bet your girls are happy for the brake! Wow you are a busy busy women!! Good luck on all those classes! And i have to say i agree with staycation. I love being home so much.

Janie i didnt know it was your birthday til i saw it in another post! lol so i hope i got it in time! Happy birthday! I hope you sleep well again and no problem on the pep talk. I am glad to help.

Michelle Good lucka nd have fun wiht FF rotation. I think im gonna do her rotation that is for begginer inter and advanced one where it transitions since i have been out of it for a while i want to take it easy and do it right this time.. My hubby kept saying i was overdoing it. So I have to ease into it..

I feel so much better today! i was limping last night and this morning but i took my meds and stayed off it and i feel better. The weather was so nice after work i was itching to go at it again. However i still could feel it when i walk so, not ready yet i guess. My son came over after his job this evening, we sat on the porch him, me, and my DH.

I so love it when he comes over and he is smiling, I love my boys so much and i get excited to see them. It makes life so much sweeter!! He is only 21 and he is trying so hard to make it on his own. He works as a mechanic at firestone and he is now a tech there he was a GS and the tech is a step up. I hope he can take the pressure, he is down on hisself this evening some what he takes every thing he does serious and that is good but it is also bad because he does not allow himself to make a mistake. We made him laugh some, so that is good. I love to laugh for sure.

Well hope you all can sleep well and hug your family tight! lol Good night! thanks for letting me gab away. :D

Did 10-10-10 today. OMG! Sweats-ville! Only used the topper.

ReneeP, I somehow knew you would be in pain too. I'm that way to and have to learn my lesson each time to take it easy and heal.

Laura, Staycation sounds lovely. Great job on yesterday's STS legs and this mornings boot cap style class and the evening classes as well. Wow!

Michelle, Great job on the walk with Ripken and Afterburn. Yep, that one is hard! Good job!

ReeneP, Oh, I'm so glad your foot feels better. Nice isn't it to have family around just to hang out? You are such a good mom giving your son advice like that. Glad you were able to make him laugh.

Take care,

Janie

Hello,

Its been nearly two weeks since I finished the 3 and half month STS rotation. Had a lovely rest and recovery week. Now I am doing Gym Style and it is kicking my butt! I am also putting an Imax, and two other advanced cardios in my rotation. Phew, I am so sore in the core! But its all good, right??

I peek in not as often as I used too, but I try. Its nice to see another "Renee" here on the check-in. Everybody keep up the good work with their exercise...work-work!

~Renee~

Well hello Renee nice to meet you!
I have Gym Style legs and only have done the floor work on it yet. Once my foot gets good im gonna do it. I have heard so much great things about that one. So do you have kids to? I have two boys they are grown though one is 21 and the oeht23 I am 43.. lol I feel 20 in my mind and some days my body feels 60 lol. I love doing Cathes workout i just discovered her about 7 months ago now. So what was the STS results for you? Yes work work lol

Good night all i am going to ice my foot just in case.. ;)

It was a rest day today except a little ab work, and enjoyed every minute of it. :D Went in the hot tub tonight. Wonderful.

Renee, I have one more week of STS rotation before my active recovery then I too will be doing Gym Style for one month. Cathe set up a 9 month rotation for me. I'm very lucky. Great job on the STS rotation and doing Gym Style, love it when they kick @ss. LOL;) Adding Imax and two other advance cardio would bring it up a huge knot. Good for you.

Take care, and as always, it's so nice to hear from you. We miss you.

I did not have the emotional strength to exercise this morning. My dear friend, Janet, who has been battling ocular melonoma two years this week, is very ill. The cancer has spread to her bone marrow and she is receiving home hospice care. The pain, apparently, is excrutiating and as of yesterday, the hospice folks/doctors did not have her pain managment to a point where she can be a little more comfortable. Her daughter was supposed to be married this June. They have moved the ceremony to this weekend, and Janet's and the family's goal is that she will be able to attend. I am not sure how her husband Ron will be able to get her from where they live in Virginia to suburban Maryland. They may have to obtain an ambulance to transport her as comfortably as possible. This has all happened over the span of just days. My heart is breaking in two. I did not know a person could cry in their sleep. When I woke up this morning my pillow was wet and I was still crying. I apologize for being a downer, but I need to share.
~michelle

Michelle, OMG! I am so so sorry going through this with your dear friend Janet. I hate hearing that she is in excruciating pain. That really bothers me that someone would have to endure such pain. I hope she will be able to travel for her daughters wedding. What a great thing to do for her mother and not wait until later when Janet may not be able to travel. My heart aches for you! Know that my spirit is with you and I'm hugging you my dear friend. I will pray a rosary for you and your friend tonight. It can't hurt. We are here for you always. ((((((hugs)))))). Keep us posted please.
Please take care of yourself and remember to eat something.

Take care sweetie,

Janie

Oh michelle im so sorey for you and your friend and her family. It is fine to share. Your not a downer to me that is what r purpose in life is.. to bear r fellow mans burdens and sorrows and rejoyce when u rejoice. I will pray for her pain mainagemeent. I have been plaqued in r family with that so much i cannot even say the word. I say the C word. That is a devastating diesease. I truly am very sorry and please dont hesitate to tell uss anything. I think Janie agrees with that. If u need to pm were here for that to. Or if u need to talk i can pm my number to u. I am thinking of u. And in Jesus name.. i love you n sending hugs.

Thanks for the support and kind thoughts everyone. I am much better today. I cried for about 24 hours and I am now in acceptance mode regarding my dear friend Janet, at least for the moment. Back to the normal routine today: ncie walkabout with my pup, exercise (High Reps), and then work. I felt my dixie cup DOMs from Afterburn on Monday this morning when I was doing squats. Oh my goodness. I actually thought I had escaped the dixie cup DOMs, but they made themselves known today. Ripken hung with me pretty good through the workout. At one point, he had one of his front paws resting on my 8 lb dumbbells, like he was an able participant in the weight-lifting activity. Wish I had my camera handy. Would have made a great shot. I need to remember to bring my cell phone in the bedroom at night so it is right there when Ripken goes into cute mode when I am exercising.

Janie: wearing your jewelry today. I have a friend here at work who just loves it. She always notices when I wear it. I always feel good when I wear your jewelry--good energy.

Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely spring day.
~michelle

Yesterday was disc 34 back and chest. I used the barbell this time and bench pressed 60#'s, one arm rows were 30# I subed 3 rounds of deadlifts for 40# bar rows close grip (Julie found out what to sub for me) and the last set was 50# deadlifts. I had confidence on the last set. Chest flys was 25# in each hand and the inclines flies were 20#. I might have been able to do 25# but just didn't want to chance it. To me this was a really successful evening. I have two more discs to go and hoping I can do as well with lifting heavy. Then an active recovery week (memory of Cardio Coach) and onto Gym Style for one month. Yea! With all that extra weight I'm lifting I'm seeing only little results. Hmmmmm. I guess it all takes time, I'm in no hurry. It's only been a tad bit over 3 months since I started this program. Today Rolly and I went to Huff and Puff for a 35 min. walk.

ReneeP, That was so nice of you supporting Michelle. I'm so glad you are with us.:)

Michelle, Great job on the walk with Ripken and High Reps. I wish I would have DOM's, but very little today. Felt like I should have more considering my workout yesterday. Hmmmm? Aw, the photo of Ripken with his paw on the weight would have been so precious. I'm thinking of you often lately since you gave us such gruesome news. (((((hugs))))).

Take care ladies,

Janie

Working at home today--I know I will not miss the commute this evening--spring break/Easter break traffic--ick! Little bit cooler here today--we've got a northwest breeze blowing and even though the sun is shining full tilt it is light jacket weather. Today I did Slide and Glide--slowly becoming one of my favorites. The tricep and chest pushups are a real challenge on this workout--love the ab work.

Janie: you are rocking the weights, my friend. Wonder why you don't have DOMs. But STS is like that, I think. You get to the last mesocycle and when you think you should have DOMs, you don't. Sister is finding the pace of the gym style workouts to be fast compared to STS--you don't get those nice rest periods in the gym style workouts; Cathe just keeps moving along. My little buddy and I will head out in a bit for another nice walk. I'm hoping some of his dog buddies will be out so he can get some socializing time.

Renee and Laura--both MIA. Are you busy getting ready for Easter? Hope you are having a wonderful Friday.
Michelle
