Getting Our Licks In!

Woke up with 3" of snow on the ground and continued snowing, but it's raining now. Weird for March. Today I did disc 25 chest and back. Love it! I was able to do 50# bench presses and from 17-20#'s in ea. hand for flys depending on the incline. Same with dead lifts and arm rows. Yea! I may have to ask hubby to spot me when I lift even heavier down the road. Joey got Jury Duty stuff for 3 weeks starting in the middle of April. Poor guy. It's district court this time that's why it's longer than two weeks. I'll be leaving to paint at the BH on Sun. (after my workout) and will come back home on Wed. afternoon.

Laura, Great job on Monday's Pilates and BC. So nice to have some people in the classes to make it worth while. Aso great job on Tuesday's Pilates and then STS and today's Yoga and TT. You are doing great! I'll take pictures of the BH this weekend. Love it when we get back up to the weight lifting the way we like. Congrats on that and push ups on toes.

Michelle, Hope everything is going well and you are happy.

Take care ladies and have a nice day.

Janie

Today was 30/30. My goodness! Made it through with little modifications.

We were watching the last DVD of "The Tudors". (movie series) Oh my what a journey that was. Henry the VIII was horrific, but we just wanted more. We wanted to see his daughter Mary be queen (Bloody Mary) and his other daughter Elizabeth (Virgin queen) as well. I here they are stories in themselves. I saw a movie about the Virgin Queen and loved it.

Take care,

Janie

Hi everyone--back from vacation! We had a wonderful, restful time. I was really good about exercising the first week and then slacked off the last 3 days. I can't remember the last time I took a 3 day break from exercise. Wow! What a difference a break makes. I feel totally rested and ready to get back to exercising which I did a little earlier today. We had a pretty relaxed routine while in Tortola. We'd get up, eat, lounge around, go to the beach, take a break, have lunch at the pool, and then hang out at the pool for the afternoon. I exercised late in the afternoon. Then we'd get cleaned up, have cocktails, and eventually eat dinner. I read several books on my Kindle, played lots of suduko, and just chilled out with Joseph. Nice restful and relaxing vacation. But, it is also good to be back home.

After going out to get breakfast this morning because we have no food in the house, we picked Ripken up from Joe's son. Suffice it to see, Ripken and I were doing our own version of a happy dance to see each other. I did Low Impact Step and Stability Ball abs and now I'm just hanging out, talking to sister on the phone. I've got the second load of laundry (whites) from vacation ready to go in the dryer and then mayber pup and I will take a walk. Spring has arrived in Virginia. We came home to our cherry tree in full bloom as well as our tulip magnolia. Time to start thinking about getting the yard in shape.

Sure did miss you guys. Glad you kept the thread going.

Will be leaving tomorrow right after I exercise. See ya all on Wed. I'm bringing a lot of my clothes over and bedding, curtains for my room... can't wait! Will be painting most of the time. Finishing the laundry room and starting and hope to finish the reading/computer room. Hope everyone enjoyed St. Patrick's Day.

Michelle, So glad you are back safely. It sounds like the perfect vacation. Always nice to do anything you like while vacationing isn't it? Very proud of you to maintain your workouts. 3 days does make a difference, glad you took that extra day. You must have needed it. Say hi to Ripken for me. How was the walk with Ripken? Great job on Low Impact Step & Stability Ball abs. We are still threatened with snow for at least another couple of days. Wish Winter would let us go, so we can enjoy Spring.

Laura, How ya doing?

Take care ladies,

Janie

What a beautiful Sunday. Ripken and I have enjoyed many walks this weekend and we have at least one more to go! I did push/pull today. Nice weight workout with some different exercises that I have not done in quite a while. I've been so focused on Cathe's newer workouts the past few months, I feel like I need to get reaquainted with some of her oldies but goodies. I'm thinking I'm just going to free-wheel on my workouts the next couple of weeks instead of picking up with the March rotation and see what Cathe has in store for us with the April rotation.

I'm just about caught up with my work email--which took a good part of the afternoon. Whew! Also did a little yard work. Might be able to get one more load of laundry done today as well. I've really chipped away at it and don't have much left--but it's all stuff that has to be done on the delicate cycle and then air dried, so that will take a little more time. Otherwise we are back to normal in the Reed household and looking forward to the new work week.

Janie: I hope that spring comes to you real soon. Just think how wonderful it will be to have the windows open at the beach house and the fresh air blowing through?

Yay! Nice to have everyone back.....I did some ice walks in Boulder this week where we enjoyed some nice spring weather. I did STS legs on Saturday.

Today is Pilates & Boot Camp.

Michelle what an absolutely perfect sounding vacation! I'm glad you had such a nice relaxing time. It is so true that a little R&R can make a huge difference in fitness gains. I bet Ripken was all wiggles when he saw you! I live that happy puppy dance! Misty is turning into such a great pup. She is really a daddy girls though! Enjoy those oldie but goody work outs.

Janie are you off again? How's STS Meso Cylce 2? I can't wait to move out of Meso 1 but I am doing the 61/2 month rotation and moving slw through it.....

Hi everyone. Missed yesterday, so I have two days of exercise to post: Pure Strength Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps yesterday and LowMax premix intervals 1-4 today. I'm enjoying getting back in the swing of the exercise thing.

Laura: looks like your post made it. I have a question: how can you do "ice walks" and "enjoy spring weather" at the same time? In fact, I do not even know what an ice walk is. How old is Misty now?

Missing Janie for a few days. Wearing her jewelry today.
Michelle

Michelle: lol mean to be Nice walks, not ice walks! Although ice is a big part of spring time in the Rockies because it gets so warm the snow melts & then cools off again at night & freeze,

Today I did Disc 7 of StS and then I had my CPR training for 2 hours and since I'm at the Rec Center I am going to do the Yoga class before I teach Total Tone

Accomplished what I aimed for at the Beach House. Got the laundry room and Reading/Computer room painted. It's such a different look. Love it!

While at the BH Rolly and I took a very fast walk on the beach for about 35 min. Today was Disc 28, Back and Chest. Upping weight and it feels good!

Michelle, Great job on PS, Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps yesterday and today's LM prem. intervals 1-4. We enjoy you being back with us. Aww, what a nice thing to say about missing me. You still have the jewelry? How sweet. We missed you while you were away too. I bet Laura missed both of us while we were gone. Poor thing. But she did a good job keeping us together. Bless her heart.

Laura, Great job on disc 7 and the CPR training for 2 hours. Wow even a Yoga class before you taught TT. Good for you! Thank you for keeping our little thread alive while we were gone. You are a dear.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Third morning of dense fog. That's the way it can be during the springtime. Doesn't make for a good hair day though. Ripken and I did a medium length walk this morning and then I did Pure Strength Back, Biceps, and Abs. Then off to Quantico for my regular Thursday morning meetings and up the road to the office.

Laura: that is funny--you meant "nice walk" and typed "ice walk." I just figured it must be a Colorado thing. LOL! You seem to be back to your regular hectic schedule.

Janie: welcome back. Of course, I still have your jewelry. I am wearing it again today. I just love it. It makes me feel more connected to you. I mean here I am wearing something that you made and we've never even met face-to-face, yet we are friends. I just think it is quite fantastic.

I did nothing yesterday even though my heart was in it, it just didn't come to light. Got to busy with projects and then it was to late for exercising. Tonight did Plyo Legs, disc 29.

There is a person by the name of Renee who wanted to join a group. I invited her. Hopefully she will be part of our group soon. We'll see.

Michelle, We usually get our fog during Halloween time. I love the fog, it's so eerie but it's not good for my hair either. Great job on walking with Ripken and doing Pure Strength Back, Biceps and abs. Enjoy your meetings at Ouantico and to the office. It's awesome how groups can get close to one another. I just love it! One day perhaps we all can meet. You never know.

Laura, How ya doing? Busy I bet.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Like summer, almost. Today it is raining. We need the rain so I am not begrudging the weather. Took a break yesterday--it was time. Today I will do cardio. I was toying with doing Cross train express this week but then I checked out Cathe's deal of the day and saw Step Moves. Made me think I might want to do Step Moves today. That is such a fun step workout. I can always start Cross Train Express tomorrow. So many Cathes and so little time.

Janie: I am glad that you invited Renee to join our group. I hope that she does. Then we will have two Renees in our group although my sister has been less regular about checking in than she used to be. Maybe she will get back into the checkin groove this summer. Sister finished STS this week and her tv in the basement where she works out is on the frtiz (it is 22 years old) so I think she might be shoppping for a new flat screen today.

Laura: I am curious as to why you opt for the 6 month STS rotation vice the 3 month? When I do STS, I navigate toward the shorter rotation because 6 months seems so long. So, I'm just wondering why you chose the 6 month--is it because 3 months seems too short? Wouldn't that just figure?

Well, I have yet another little load of vacation laundry in the washing machine. The last of my bathing suits and a couple of dresses. All I've got left are "delicates" and they just seem to take longer to get done. Basically because they have to air dry and I can only air dry so much in my spare bathroom at one time. Otherwise today is clean the house, pay bills, and exercise day. Fortunately, not much is going on and that is good. Just a nice rainy Saturday. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Michelle

Great news everyone! Renee (yep, we now have two Renee's) has decided to join our group. Right now her power is off and she will most likely post tomorrow. I can't wait for all of us to get to know her.

Today I was thinking of doing Rhythmic Step, but instead I was outside doing heavy gardening for a couple of hours. There is no way I could do it now even if I tried.

Got a lot done; sawing branches and putting them in a big piles for another day of gardening. Left such a mess to clean up. Also, I'm not having a big garden this year at all, since we are working on the Beach house. I covered the gardens with black plastic for another year. That way I don't have to weed much.

Michelle, I hope your sister will come join us whenever she can. She is so missed. She has a lot of positive energy that I like to be around. Tell Renee congrats on finishing STS, that is a big accomplishment. She came a long way since her accident. Very proud of her. She's going to love that flat screen TV. I know what you mean about so many of Cathe's wonderful DVD's. I love being busy in the house while it is raining. Enjoy the rest of your day. Great job doing Step Moves.

Laura, how you doing?

Renee, can't wait to hear from you.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Thanks im using phone right now.. but am excited to get to know all of you! Talk to you tomorrow. Stiill frustrated ..i miss Cathe workouts lol. My heel still is bad.. im having withdrawls... lol.

Hopefully we can help Renee get situated in this world of Cathe. Here is a message from her phone.

I dont know if im doing this right im checking out my page and trying to send out messages on computer. I mostly have it on my phone but really make to many typos that way. I was wanting to send you a message asking how to use our page and update our workout dvds section. However it looks so different then using my phone! Im lost! Tried to get my avitar to show up Im not sure if it did.. Let me know if you get this.. It is wierd because i have to scroll down from our old messages to do a new one.. Is that correct or can i do a different one? hmm sorry im not good with computers either.

Renee, I can understand having withdrawals from Cathe. When I go on vacation I can't do a lot of Cathe's DVD's like I'm use to, LOL. What happened to your heel?

I don't know anything about iphones. We only have a land phone and a cell phone for when we go on vacations. Maybe Michelle, or Laura can help hopefully. As you can see, your avitar came out beautifully.

Stay in touch I think help will be on it's way soon.

Janie
