Getting Our Licks In!

Quick check-in. A nippy start to the morning, but regardless, Ripken and I did a nice long walk. Of course, he gets to sleep all day and I get to go to work. Ah--the life of Ripken....After the walkabout, I did KickMax, Cardio Leg Sculpt premix. I was running a little short on time, so I gave this one a go. It combines the blasts and the leg drills. UGH! I am not crazy about the blasts on KickMax and usually do the premix that has the kickbox and leg drills, but I gave the Cardio Leg Sculpt premix a go. My legs were so happy--not! But I felt good when the workout was done. Still loving the February rotation.

Janie: you and my sister are two tough cookies. I'm inspired by your biceps dumb bell weight amounts. I absolutely struggle with 15 pounders on bicep curls with dbs but I'm working on it. My bicep goal for the year: to be able to handle 15 pound dbs without absolutely dying out mid-reps on hammer and bicep curls.

Did the electronic filing thing last night and the IRS kicked it back--need new efile PINs. Got those first thing this morning, so I'll try the efile one more time. But I'm also going to print out the tax forms to mail just in case it doesn't work, again.

Great day to all.

Did intervals for 30 min. on the treadmill. Got a really nice sweat going. Beach house update: Joey has completely finished the bathroom and my bedroom and the hallway. WooHoo! When I get there I will be painting his bedroom, and hopefully the living room. Still a lot to do, but it's coming together more quickly now. Oh, we had to buy a new dryer. Next will be the washer.

Michelle, I struggle with the 15 pounders too, but so far so good. Won't be increasing for awhile though. Great job on the long walk with Ripken, KM, Cardio Leg Sculpt premix. Blasts are hard, but so useful. It makes us better equiped to endure her tortures.LOL Once you catch on to the electronic tax filing you will do it every year. You'll get use it.

Laura, How ya doing lady? Miss you.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Hi! I taught Pilates & then boot camp. I am still not doing the plyo arts but doing the weight parts. It was basically like the plyo legs in STS Meso Cycle 3 with 30 seconds plyo and then weights.

I struggle with 15 #'s now with biceps I had just gotten there until my slip backwards. :(. Oh well I get ack there eventually....

This morning I taught pilates with a focus on opening up our hips. Then I began my 2nd week of STS Meso Cycle one week one with Chest, Shoulders, and Biceps. SO MANY PUSHUPS!!;):p I did them all from my toes but some were pretty shallow and shabby! But considering I could hardly do 10 decent pushups before I found Cathe that's pretty darn good for me!

Hope everyone is doing well. I am starting a diet tomorrow!

My rest day. Sooooooo nice. It snowed here about 2 inches. Hope it melts tomorrow.

Laura, Great job on teaching Pilates and then boot camp. You are full of energy! You'll get to 15# very soon. It's OK. Great job on beginning of the 2nd week of STS Meso Cycle 1 week 1, chest, shoulders, and biceps. I know, the dreaded push ups. They don't get any easier either. But, you can look forward the meso 2. That is fun.
Very proud of you doing those pushups on your toes. I certainly couldn't do it at all. Fantastic job on that!

What diet will you be on? Paleo? I hope so, we can compare notes.

Janie

Just taught a pyramid style upper body workout in Total Tone. Everyone s legs were still sore from Monday so we left them alone (mine included) .

Janie a rest day on a snow day how perfect! Not doing a strict Paleo diet but low carb clean foods, so pretty much the same thing just not so strict....

Did disc 19, chest, shoulders and triceps. For the larger muscles (chest) used 12's for the first set, then 15's for the second set and then 20's for the third set. Then we did it all over again! For the smaller muscles (shoulders and triceps) used 8's, 10's and 12's. Whew. I'm using heavier weight. Woo Hoo!
I'll most likely do a cardio tonight and if I do will post that update.

Been doing a lot of crocheting lately and needed a break from it. Learned something interesting searching the computer about felt soap. You felt over soap and now instead of using a wash cloth you use the soap that is felted. I used it for the first time last night and it's wonderful. Just have to message it for just a little while (like you would a wash cloth to soap up) and it's so cool. Here's a photo to give you an idea what they are.

The wool is anti fungal, so there would not be a chance for mildew or mold or anything yucky like that growing if it stays damp. I love doing this, it was so much fun and will continue to make them for a few more days.

Laura, Great job on teaching pyramid style upper body in Total Tone. Sounds like you are doing such a good job. Wish I could take that class. Tweaking a diet to fit your needs is a good thing. If you are losing weight, then that's great.

Michelle, How are you doing?

Take care ladies,

Janie

Didn't exercise yesterday. I was called in for Jury selection and now I'm a Juror. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. The trial starts today so getting ready now to leave. It should hopefully finish today or Monday maybe. I'll update later tonight. I have an STS disc to do too. Legs
Take care everyone,

Janie

The trial ended today, thank God. There was so much inconsistencies and the evidence that was presented was against him also. Ten of the jurors almost right away pleaded him guilty but there was another person and myself that wanted to take it slower. It was about drugs and yes it was an open and shut case, but it just felt so awful to get it over with so quickly. Finally it was time to put an end to it and there was really only his guilt facing us. I hated to do it, put we had to plead him guilty too.

All I can think about was this young man's life, most likely in jail. What a hell of a night for him. Wished he hadn't done this to himself. What a waste.

Very stressful tonight and was not able to really concentrate on disc 20, legs. I was all over the place and wanted it to end so I could just vegetate on the couch and think of nothing else but watch TV. I think I did 3 quarters of the way through, but just lost it and stopped. I'll do better once this feeling has a chance to be absorbed and put in perspective.

Hope everyone had a good day,

Janie

Yesterday I didn't do cardio. Our son came over with his problems. We all talked and didn't get much done.

Take care,

Janie

Good morning. This will be a quick post today. We are at the hotel this morning eating breakfast, getting set for travel today. We are headed to Tortola for two weeks. I've got ten Cathe workouts on my smartphone. I'll be off the grid until March 17. Work, work! But, Only when I'm exercising!
Michelle

Hey! I had a busy weekend and didn't work out or post! :-(.

I am riding the stationary bike right now before my two classes, Pilates & Boot Camp. I am going to start cardio this week and see how it goes.

I have to run now but will check back later to see how y'all are doing

This morning I did Step Heat (25 min.) and late in the afternoon I did 20 min. on the treadmill.

Michelle, Enjoy your travels for two weeks. Glad Cathe will be with you. Will see ya around March 17. Have a good time.

Laura, Good for the riding the stationary bike and also on your two classes, Pilates and BC. Keep me posted on your results of cardio. OK?

Take care ladies,

Janie

Hey Today I did Meso Cycle 1 week 2 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps and taught my Pilates class. I was surprisingly not to sore from my Monday classes.

Janey: I love the idea of your felt soap! how cool is that! Can't wait to have time for crafts! In this very hectic time of my life it's a luxury I can hardly imagine! Good job on your workouts and weight improvements! That's awesome! I can't wait to Meso 2 I like it better than Meso 1!

Michelle: sounds like your set for a Cathe Vacation! Have fun and look forward to hearing from you when you come back!

Today was treadmill, steady state for 40 min. Will be going to the beach house with Joey tomorrow, hopefully will come home on Sun. We have a lot to do.

Laura, you are going to be by yourself until Sun. Hope you stick around and keep posting. I'll catch up with you on Sun. Hang in there OK? Great job on Meso Cycle 1 week 2 chest, shoulders & biceps. Also on your Pilates class. You amaze me with all you do.

Will miss you and Michelle. Do post to try and keep us going. If you like and if you have time, invite other people over. Get on OD and invite.

See you on Sun.

Janie

ok guess its my turn to hold down the fort...

yesterday a day off...

today 30 minutes on bike and STS Meso 1 Week 2 Back & Tri's kind of hard to get through this one...seemed like forever and ever and ever....

I know endurance style is best for my body type but it really is my least favorite Meso Cycle! But I got through it and that felt great. I had an extra long sauna and nice lunch out by myself at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant!

Have a nice trip everyone see you when you get back

Back from the beach house. OOoooo my! When I got there, joey had so many things done. He gave me a tour. First stop was the hall way. So beautiful and when painted a nice bright color such as cream white. The blue Pergo goes very well with this color. Magnificent!

Second stop was the bathroom. The tiled floor gave a finished and handsome look. He also put in hand bars. I brought in rugs for the shower, tub and around the toilet. So very very nice.

Then my bedroom... O my God! The Pergo on this floor is so much better than I thought it would be. (It's the same as the hallway) It's gorgeous! And it's mine! We put the bed up, and surprisingly it's a lot higher than expected, and I love the way that is. (It might be twice as high as a normal bed would be) I brought in a beautiful bed spread left to me by a wonderful woman I use to care for in her old age. (I'll replace it once I crochet a bedspread) Also brought out my crochet rug and it goes perfect with the decor. All I need to do now is purchase curtains and crochet the inner ones. That's a lot of work and will be doing that for a long time. Crochet is not a fast project.

There are new faucets in the kitchen, new light fixtures too throughout the house.

While we were there, we painted Joey's room and the laundry room. He is ready to put in his carpet next time for his bedroom. He's ordered his bed and we already have the box spring and mattress. While he babysits our grandchildren later this month (two different times) I'll go there to paint what I can. Plan on painting the gaming room, and get started on the living room.

I have until Wed. for my active recovery then back to STS Meso 3, first week. Can't wait! Will do a cardio later today and post it. I did STS disc 24, walked/jogged/ran on the beach one day.

Laura, Great job on holding down the fort. Also on 30 min. of bike and STS Meso 1 Week 2 Back & Tri's. It's a challenging one. Meso 1 is my least favorite too, but it's needed. You are doing such a good job. OOoooo love saunas and alone time as well. It's healthy.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Was really meaning to post yesterday, but got caught up in the middle of a movie and fell asleep. I never fall asleep!! Well hardly ever. Then it was too late to post.

Looking outside right now and it's snowing! Yep, and we accumulated so far, about 1". Very wet and don't expect it to last long, but you never know about our crazy March weather.

Take care,

Janie
