She's Getting Ready to Film Again!!!!

I am hoping for a new dance-y low impact step dvd. Out of the last 27 dvd releases she has only ONE dance-y step-Low Impact Challenge. Dying for some choreography here!!! I am resorting to doing all the old classics and cardio hits as well as the newer ones to keep up some variety! Beth

    xtrain/sts/lis rotation

I'm thinking about doing a week from xtrain, then a week from sts and then a week from the lis rotation for maximum muscle confusion and variety. So like week 1 of each rotation, then week 2 of each, etc. What do you'all think about that? I might mix up the sts weeks so I'm doing meso 1,2, and 3...

    Hard Strikes hurts my knees!

See thats the problem-you have to modify this entire workout so it becomes a different workout altogether. Kind of ridiculous. After the low impact mods I don't get near as much of a heart rate kick. It becomes a lower intensity 30 minute cardio instead of high intensity. I also started this...

    Hard Strikes hurts my knees!

Just a word of caution to those with knee issues-this is one of worst DVD's I've done for my knees. Its all high impact jump ropes, jumping jacks, hopping on one foot sideways, and those dreaded scissors (the worst for my knees of any exercise.) There are no kicks in the workout (a few in the...

Pointers Needed to Master STS Abs Circuit 45 Degree Plate Slide Ins!

Try putting your hands on an 8 inch step and see if you can do them that way. then lower to 6 inches, 4 inches and then hands on the ground over time. That's how I worked up to mastering all the plate exercises. Beth

    Wow, Tabata training is amazing!

I didn't do the July rotation but did do CF and TTM regularly. This past week I did the LIS and was amazed at my improved cardio endurance for Afterburn and Athletic Training! I am really loving CF and TTM-they are so fun-really much more fun than the first HIIT DVD, and longer which I like...

XTRAIN- a request for wrist friendly exercises

Me too. Those crab-kick core exercises in Crossfire just kill my wrists, then the plank exercises too. I could tolerate the planks better if I hadn't done the crab kicks first. I don't think it is something you can build up too, either. Your joints are either that flexible or they are not. Beth

    Download time?

I downloaded Ab Circuits Pilates and it took about 90 minutes to download. Is that normal? My download speed (just checked on Speakeasy to confirm) is 7Mbps. Beth

    New to downloads

You don't need to purchase more than the first week of meso 3 discs. They are all identical workouts. The only thing that changes is the reps are 8 for week 1, 7 for week 2, 6 for week 3, and then back to 8 for week 4. This will save you some money! Beth

Blog article on lifting light weights

Cathe, will you include an article on your blog addressing older women and weight lifting? The blog article was on young men-who can build muscle just looking at a dumbbell with their roaring levels of testosterone. I'd really like to know the science on weight lifting for peri and menopausal...

    High step challenge vs training

No, the cardio portion does NOT include the leg presses. Thats why I like the cardio-UB premix! It has a lot of plyometrics on the high step though-so still very tough. Beth

    High step challenge vs training

I love them both. They are both very challenging. One thing I like to do with HST is the cardio-UB premix done twice. You can go really heavy on the weights and then the cardio is very HIIT (IMHO) so your heart rate is way up there the entire time. Its a nice way to get a cardio workout at the...

Workout closely resembles Total Body trisets upper body

Here are some to consider: STS Meso 1-it rotates chest-shoulders biceps on one DVD, and then Back-biceps on the 2nd DVD. You could do half of each for a one hour workout. No specific core work, but your core is worked a lot in the exercises. You do 15-16 reps so it is quite similar. Meso 3 does...

    STS mesocycle 2

Sometimes its because you are using one instead of two dumbells for the exercise. Other than that, it really shouldn't change more than 5 percent from meso 1 for the first week of meso 2. You could go into the calender feature and see if your meso 1 weights got changed from what you did...

    Please share your STS wisdom!

The workout manager has been vastly improved since it came out and is really great for previewing the excercise and making adjustments to your 1RM by simply entering the weight you used for the exercise. When I think of all the hours I could have saved if I'd had the new version from the get go...

I'm pretty sure it isn't on the first two squat rack discs. So it may be on the last two.

videos that are encoded at the same rate

I have a question about your quote: "Something you may not know about the WB is that if you create premixes using video chapters all encoded at the same rate you will be able to create a one hour premix in just a few minutes on a good computer." Other than the LIS, what other series are...
