Weight Watchers - Second week of February

Good Luck, Suzanne.

Today's my rest day from working out. Yeah. Busy day yesterday. I fell asleep unexpectantly for an houir. Another busy one today and I know I will be enjoying a nap after church. I can tell already.

Thanks for the well wishes, Ladies. I definitely believe I needed to change things up this go round with wwers. Last time, I ate so little, and hardly lost anything. I was tired, a little cranky and felt almost defeated . Im trying to make good food choices that support an active workout routine. And, Im so happy I think I found it.

I know it's only 5:55 am, but where yall at? BBL

Shereta, I agree your enthusiasm is great!! I'm so glad you found your mojo!

I'm reflecting back on my vacation....I did not have a computer, or any of my point tracker books.....and I was amazed, but not shocked, at how easily I starting slipping back into my unhealthy eating habits and that "out of sight out of mind" justification. If I "can't" track my points then they must not count! I know I've gained and I'm hoping it's just a pound or two. So that got me thinking....what's my endpoint? Do I stay (ie. pay) on WW forever?? I definitely dont feel as if I'm at the point where I can be left to my own devices and just "eat clean". I really do rely on the online point tracker so much right now!

I havent decided if I'm going to workout today or not. We're having a Superbowl Part and I need to clean and do some prep work. I also have to clear away the 2 inch layer of ice that is still in my driveway! Yesterday I ate horribly "because I could"....where does this mentality come from??? I hope to avoid alot of junk at this party or at least just practice portion control!

Suzanne.....good luck on your weigh in today and I hope this week life is less stressful!!

Good morning everyone,

So my weigh-in was yesterday and I was up .5. Not really sure why. Maybe I didn't eat enough WPs and APs? I read your experience Shereta from last week, and think its great that you were able to lose even though using all WPs and APs. So gonna keep trying. I like the suggestion of staggering the WPs throughout the week.

BTW, what does everyone want to lose? I want to lose 14 pounds. Slowly but surely.

Have a great day everyone!

*sigh* No change. Better go do all the things that need doing. BBL to post food and thoughts.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi everyone.

Melanie - I'd like to lose 15 pounds by my 40th bday (May 30th). Seems do-able, but at the rate I'm going I might not get there.

So eating some of WP's this past week did not get the scale moving. I think I'm going to try this and see what happens. It's a more structured way of using some of your WP's. I know if I just wing it without planning it, I'll go overboard.

Day 1: target +5 - 7 points - Sunday
Day 2: Target + 1 point - Monday
Day 3: Target +15 - 20 points - Tuesday
Day 4: Target points only - Wednesday
Day 5: Target +4 – 5 points - Thursday
Day 6: Target +2 points - Friday
Day 7: Target points only – Saturday

Here is my menu for today:
B: 3 slices light whole wheat toast, 1 T pb, 1/2 c 1%
L: 4 oz chicken, whole wheat pita, 1T HVR light dressing
D: 5 oz 93% lean beef, 1/2 c brown rice, steamed veggies
S: apple, pear, carrot sticks
This leaves me with 8-10 points according to Day 1 above. I'll save that for an awesome SB snack later..:D

Melissa....maybe you need to add more veggies and protein and reduce your carbs a bit?? I've noticed I lose more, even if I'm eating the same number of points, if I gear more of my points toward protein than carbs and adding in more veggies. I dont know if it matters or not but I'm not much of a fruit person. I'll eat a banana every other day or so, and maybe an apple once a week, or some raspberries, but other than that, that's about it for fruit. Just a thought!

Hey ladies!

Well, I am going to end up using all of my WP and AP this week after all LOL. I did a culinary tour yesterday and I took full advantage--I definitely ate and indulged and promised myself I wouldn't feel guilty because we have to have those treats every once in a while :).

I'm going to be a little more disciplined today by sticking to mostly clean foods for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, but today is my mom's birthday, and my parents are having a barbecue (the advantages of living in sunny CA :)), so I'm going to enjoy myself again at dinner. Also, I think my mom got red velvet cake for her cake. Um, not going to pass that up either, although I will be reasonable and have just a few bites.

We'll see how this all pans out when I weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised, but if not, I'll prepare myself for a 1-2 pound gain. I'm hoping it won't be more than that.

Thanks for the input, Stacy. I have carbs at every meal so maybe I am eating too many. I'll pay more attention this week and see what happens. I eat at least 1 piece of fruit a day. I munch on carrot sticks while I'm cooking dinner and I always have at least 2 cups of veggies with my dinner.

I'd like to lose 10-15 pounds, but at the rate I'm going, this could take 20 years :p.

LOL!!! I'm beginning to think that PP isn't geared towards people that only need to lose 10-15 pounds...:( Maybe Momentum was too successful. Maybe WW had so many people losing and becoming Lifetime that they were losing money so they tweaked it to make it harded to get there. Just a thought...

I just counted the weeks until my bday = 17. So I need to average 1 pound a week to reach my goal. What is pretty sad is that I've only averaged .25 pounds per week since I've been on WW (3lbs in 11 weeks). That leaves be pretty speechless right about now. Kind wish I hadn't done the math...:(:(:(

Hi ladies,

I've been sick and still can't do any cardio. I did manage to do my STS weight w/o's yesterday and today, but cardio is out of the question right now.

Suzanne-sorry your weigh in was what you expected. You didn't gain and that's a good thing. Keep up your efforts.

Shereta-did I read your post correctly? You ate all your DP, WP and AP plus more points and you still lost weight? Whatever you are doing it is definitely working so keep it up!

Melanie-.5 isn't much and could easily just be water retention or even a difference in the clothes your wore. It is frustrating to see the scale moving up instead of down though. I want to lose 15-20lbs.

Melissa-I agree with Melanie, you might try cutting out some of your carbs. My bodytype seems to do better with more protein, although that wasn't the case last week. I keep plenty of frozen veggies in the house and steam them when hunger strikes.

B-oroweat sandwich thin/almond butter/jelly-6pts (pre workout)
L-fiber one/prot pwd/flax seed/1 C berries/1 C almond milk-7pts
S-1 C steamed cauliflower
D-london broil/steamed veggies (need to look up points value)

Nice to see everyone on and having busy days and thinking thoughts about what they've done and what they want to do.

I'll keep my tracker up - I still want to lose in the area of 20 lbs. That would bring me right down to the minimum healthy weight for my body type and I might not be able to get there....but I will just step out in faith and see what happens.

My scale only shows whole numbers so I don't really know what might be going on in the fractional world...and for me that's ok. I get bogged down with overthinking.

Today's foods;

B - oatmeal as usual 9
L - ww pasta, reduced fat feta, sun dried tomatoes, broccoli 7
S - kefir, banana 2
D - ww tortilla, taco meat, cheddar, guac, salsa, lettuce, tomato 10

That brings me to 28 PP. Debating a bev vs tiny dish of ice cream.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I'm glad I didn't gain and I'll just keep on keeping on. The tracking is really keeping me on the straight and narrow. I think about what I'm going to have BEFORE I have it. This is good.

Hey, Yall.

Lots of activity today.

Yes, Diana, I ate all that stuff last week. But, I just realized that I weigh way more than anyone else. I've got 70 to lose. That's probably why I'm dropping so much so fast. I know all the fruits (2 a day) and veggies (5-7 a day) is helping. I eat relatively clean 90% of the time too. I'm telling yall, I was flabbergasted when I saw the scale yesterday. Also, I'm pretty consistant with intense workouts also. And since I'm including a good amount of weight work in my weekly routines, I may reach my goal size (6P) well before I reach my goal weight. We'll see.

Someone mentioned not wanting to be on WWers for the rest of their life. I definitely hear you. I'm giving myself til my birthday to get my weight down (9/17). By then, I should have developed great healthy eating habits. I hope. Either way, I'm done with WWers after that. You know, like actually tracking everyday. I should have a handle on what my body needs and how it responds to certain things by then. However, when I was on WWers a few years, one lady at a meeting said she been at goal and was still tracking daily for over 3 years. I was like - why? I guess she needed that accountability. Wow. To each his own. I just hope I will have it together by then.

Okay ladies, now you have me racking my brain trying to think of breakfast items I can have that are low or no-carb...

For breakfast, I usually have egg whites & sweet potato (carbs) or peanut butter with whole wheat toast (carbs). I love having egg whites and they are easy to make at work. 4 egg whites isn't going to cut it.

For lunch, I usually have my chili that has alot of beans in it (carbs) or tuna in a whole wheat pita (carbs).

Maybe those are still okay and I should cut out my carb at dinner and opt for a bigger portion of protein?

Thoughts and/or suggestions are welcomed...as usual!!!

I did Imax2 today. Every step segment and every other blast. Love that workout!!! Tomorrow morning I'm going to try to get up early and get in a Cardio Coach on the stationary bike. It'll be difficult though so I'll have to let you know how it goes or if it goes at all...;)

Hey, Ladies. Happy Monday.

Today's workout was Athelic Step. I earned 9 APs. As usual, i had to remove the step for the 3rd cycle. It really whoopped my today. A real good sweat.

Hi Ladies -

Melissa - I'm beggining to think the same way as you - perhaps this plan is not really geared towards those who have less to lose. That's why I asked what everyone's weight loss goals are. You mentioned Spark People last week, so I signed up, but found it a little frustrating to use. Many of the foods I eat I would have to enter manually. I guess when I went on there I just didn't have the time to put into it, so I wasn't too thrilled with it. Maybe I'll try it again when I have more time.

I was wondering if anyone has tried Cathe's nutrition program. I'm wondering if that would be worth looking into. I don't know why I can't do this myself - you hear a lot of talk about intuitive eating etc., but I don't quite feel I can trust myself. Maybe that's because of always being on WW and coming to rely on the ease of tracking.

Anyways, am I making sense? Its Monday, I have a wicked headache, and I'm tired, so I don't know if I'm making sense here.

Some good news, even though I was up on the scale a little, I had to take in a jacket because it was too big. I felt really great about doing that yesterday.

Well, here's my menu:

B: oatmeal, flax seed, yogurt, blueberries
S: FINN Crisp bread with cream cheese, apple
L: 1/2 cup chickpeas, salad, 2 slices of turkey bacon
S: raw veggies, apple, hot chocolate
D: Balsamic chicken, 1 cup whole wheat pasta, cauliflower

I did Kickmax this morning for 8 APs. I was really proud of myself to get through all those blasts at the end. Those tuck jump things at the very end normally kill me, but today I was like "that's it? its over?" LOL. Of course, I was glad it was over. :) :) :)

Melissa - I didn't want to include this in my last post cause it was getting long, but regarding your carbs - why not just try cutting out some of the bread (i.e. toast/pita etc.) Replace it with whole grains like quinoa, bulgur, buckwheat. It takes more time to prepare these things, but you may find it more filling and better for you than bread.

I've even eaten bulgur as a breakfast food with a bit of honey and yoghurt.

Hope that helps!

Melissa, do you still have your information from Momentum? Maybe you should follow that plan. I know you're not supposed to mix WWers plans, but I read on one of there forums some of them went back to it. just a thought....

also, lowcarbfriends.com is a good place to get low carb meals/snacks. I always liked 2 eggs and turkey sausage. theres low carb milk to use with cereal. They also have lists of certain brands that are good for low carb lifestyles. Kroger has low carb yogurt. I like that with some peanuts or almonds mixed in.

Ok, I'm officially stumped (not to mention frustrated). Up 2 pounds this week *sigh*.

I'm not sure if it's because I started STS and my muscles are adjusting to heavy weights again (and therefore holding on to a lot of excess fluid) or because I switched to counting WP first before counting AP, but in any case, I'm now at the highest weight I've been since I lost 30 pounds on WW 6 years ago. So demoralizing :(.

I know I need to just suck it up and continue to do all of the right things for my body and focus on health, but I gotta be honest, it is really frustrating me. And I know this isn't just about the numbers playing tricks on me, because my clothes are feeling a little more snug and I'm definitely seeing a bit more padding around the middle, so there is weight to lose.

Thanks for letting me vent, everyone. I needed to get that off my chest :(.
