Taking it to the Max-- June 2013 thru...

hi girls! still feeling super sore and achey here, and riley, our cat, woke me at 3 in the morning :mad:. she never sleeps in our room, but somehow she snuck in last night and then decided she wanted out at three and came up and pounced on my legs. not a nice way to wake up! anyway, I still got some workout in. I did x10 circuit and then some yoga and this afternoon walked bugsy even though it is chilly and windy outside.

if I don't get on here again this weekend, happy mother's day! I know this one will be very bittersweet for you, renee-- I will be thinking of you. I keep missing mom every day and can't believe it has been a year now. anyway, I hope you girls have a nice weekend and some good times with family. I am going to visit the cemetery on sunday and then head over to my niece's for a celebration (if we all are healthy:confused:-- nygel still has been pretty sick and I just am so run down feeling-- hoping it passes by sunday!)

My DH took me to breakfast Friday and took me out to get a juicer. That was nice. I drank a juice a day so far.
But eating like a pig. Rest day today it is Sabbath day. Tomorrow is going to be turbo fire again. Friday was TF fire starter also I did flex train a 34 minute premix because I knew I had to get in a toning or weight workout of some kind so I decided on a light weight one.
Lady Lep and Katie do make memories and enjoy your day with your children. I know I am going to try and spend the day enjoying my day with Rocky my oldest son. It is bittersweet and so confusing. Hard to explain. I just miss Ryan so much and it hits harder some times. Thanks for knowing that it is hard for me. I approximate that!
I was in the store on Thursday and just started crying cause of the weekend approaching and mowing Ryan can't come over this year. It's just some days you can swallow it down and make a stupid joke to make everyone laugh about anything to get your mind into something then other time it Pericles you and makes me so sick. I miss my mom yes and that to is sad but my son being gone is just too painful to even bare at times. But one day at a time I say!!
I will hold my head up tomorrow and be the mom and friend my oldest son still deserves to have. It isn't his fault or anyone's fault so I have to be act as normal as I can for him.

Hi Katie and Lady Lep hope all is well.
I have been having a blast with TF I have not tried the 45 minute one yet! I may try it tonight!
I bought me a disco ball lol it was cool last night! I waited till dark to do my TF and turned lights out and turned upped the TF music and had a ball! Day before that I did turbo fire HIIT 20 plus mm weights. I'm sore!

I should be losing some weight to. I was told the other day by an acquaintance I have lost a lot of weight what have I done? I don't see it but okay !! lol
I do feel stronger with my lifting!
I am so ready for Cathe to come out with new workouts!! I'd love to see her have a few weight workouts that work the whole body like push pull and a few cardios like Xtrain so we can have like two or three full body weights a week and three or four cardio a week man that would be so cool!! Oh and a yoga DVD !
I'd love to do her live show on Thursday but I can't do it yet till I can figure out how to get it into my family room. Boy one girl is complaining sounds like a big baby over in one of the discussions about it. I wanted to say something but I refrained. Idk it just sounded like she wanted to be persnickety to me. I don't like when someone is just being down right nasty.

hi girls! sorry I have been off for a few days! just busy as usual with the kids and work. anyway, I have been getting my workouts in-- cardio supersets on sunday, total body trisets upper body Monday plus a walk, hardstrikes no conditioning plus pilates ab circuit yesterday, not today I did jivamukti yoga for an hour and a walk. will do the lower body portion of TBT tomorrow plus an x10 segment, and probably metabolic work on Friday. I have been eating really well (for me, that is!) for about the past week and a half-- will see if I see any results as I don't think I have lost much of anything lately (though I never use a scale).

renee-- that is great you are having fun with your workouts and losing weight! way to go! the disco ball sounds fun:). I was thinking of you on mothers day. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child, but hope you had some nice times with your oldest son.

hello ladylep! how are things going?

going to make a smoothie for dinner. have been doing that a lot lately-- smoothie for breakfast and dinner with a lunch in between. have not really had any sugar except for some all natural chewing gum (called treehugger, it is really good!). anyway, hoping I can stay disciplined for a while at least!

Hi everyone! I'm still here and I've been skimming the posts but it's been really busy. The convention was great, as usual. I'm really trying to cut back on what I've been doing with my boys since I've been doing too much according to every homeschooler and vender for homeschool materials has been telling me. I'm teaching most subjects 4-5 times a week and I don't think anyone does that.

As for workouts, I think I'm back to my full strength and did LIS Slide and Glide Express on Monday (31 min) and LIS Total Body Trisets Upper Express (19 min) today and that was supposed to be yesterday's workout and today was supposed to be lower. So I was hoping to do total body express but I just ran out of time. Tomorrow I may do CLB (close to 30 min as possible) and pilates abs.

hi girls! running around again here today, but got a tough workout in. did x10 low impact and then TBT lower body, then yoga. my legs and glutes are fried. I think combining that x10 with the lower body afterwards was super taxing on the lower body. anyway, still not sure what I will do tomorrow-- will depend on any DOMS I might get.

ladylep-- glad the convention went well and what great news for you that you can spend less time on everything! sounds like you are still getting good workouts in on your busy schedule! glad you are all better!

off to cello choir and chamber music rehearsals-- it never ends! on an exciting note for alec, he found out from his violin professor at the u of m that she is going to use funds from the school to send him to a string program in pienza, Italy this summer! I will miss him, but am so excited for him!

My workout yesterday was turbo fire fire 45 class and today was low HIIT 25 and Cathes pyramid up 35 minutes had abs in there. Felt really good! I really did NOT feel like exercising today at all but I had to push through. And I got it done. I had to get my Cathe fix lol!!
 
hi girls! popping on to say hello after a long day. today I did travelfit (had not done that one in forever! it was fun!), 20 mins of yoga and took a walk with bugsy (even though it is cold and cloudy out-- had a sweatshirt and fleece jacket and still felt chilly).

renee-- I do have major DOMS today! :D guess yesterday did it! wasn't sure what I wanted to do today-- wanted to hit my upper body some but still get some cardio in, so decided on TF. that band work is pretty intense. tomorrow is a rest day, thank goodness. sounds like you are having so much fun with your workouts! did you buy all the turbofire ones, or are they online? I am excited for alec, yes he is the oldest (17), but scared, too. my biggest stress will probably be his plane ride there and back-- by himself:confused:. wishing he had a friend to travel there with him. all the scary stuff with planes, even though it doesn't happen often, still scares me. I know he will make good choices in Italy. I want to figure out a way where we can still be in touch, though.

Oh I missed Cathe workout so had to do some pyramid upper body yesterday and the HIIT 25. Forgot to say I did a yoga foundations about four days ago as well. Today I did intensity I love the step potion of that. I was in a hurry so I didn't have to much time but at least that was at least 30 minutes grr I did do some squats and lunges as well because I wanted to work my legs but my left knee felt really crapy on my lunges and kind of scared on my squats so I think I will do my legs tomorrow on the floor or maybe a barre workout. That will get my legs without hurting my knees. I know Tuesday was a rest day so tomorrow I have to do something.
I have been eating crapy even though I been juicing. Well not crapy just a lot. I eat a lot of peanut butter! Oink oink oink!!!

I am taking today as rest day. I may just do some leg lifts while watching tv but that's it lol ..
I have been reading a lot about natural remedies and juicing and how we can use food as healing and medicine. I always knew that and wanted to learn more but I want to learn more! So interesting. I went today to a similar then got home and thought ii have always been into the health of nutrition and I'd love to find a job I like to do what kind of job would that be!? I know nutritionist but I am wondering about the natural nutrition and natural healing home remedies nurse !! I am going to do more research. I know I loved learning how the body functioned how it took in good used it how and y it used it. I have to think of something to do I will actually enjoy.

hi girls! feeling like crud with this cold (allergies?) still, so this morning's workout felt even worse than usual:eek::eek:. I did tabatacise, all 5 rounds, though and then 22 mins of mellow yoga. my body aches and throat is super tight/sore with sinus stuff added in. blech. today is nygel's final cello choir concert, so we will be gone most of the day for rehearsal and the performance. it is gorgeous out, though, so going to get a walk in with bugsy first.

renee-- yay for DOMS:D. I think you will find a new job/career that you will love. I need to do the same, really! giving thai is wearing my fingers out and I know I can't keep doing it forever. hope you are having a nice sunday!

Gosh spring colds suck!!
Katie that's awful to have a cold anytime of year but really not good in the spring and summer!

I still have not exercised yet! I have been so freaking lazy today!! It's getting later and later if I do anything I'm gonna do a weight workout but I'm thinking it will just be two rest days in a row. Maybe I need it? I don't know maybe this sadness is causing me to be tired. I have been really crying a lot again this week I think maybe cause of I know we are going to Wv to my sons plot. And I was told he still does not have a stone so we must figure out what and where to get one and what to put on it. His real father was suppose to have done it. I figured I was gonna end up doing it myself.

I finally bathed and cut my stinky dogs body, the one that crys all the time? He is the one that is getting older and very sick (the lab and chow mix) he looks more lab. But he never let's me bath him I have to chase him but I finally got him done!
My other big dog Bruno is a pit bull he is the one that was my sons who just past away man he is a big baby as well! Lol he always wants to lay in my lap and he is so big. He is a baby honestly loves affection!
I am watching a thing on netflix about myths about bit bullbreads and I can't believe the bans they have had ! They went into home taken dogs out of the homes away from there home and put in vets to be put to sleep? Wow how sad !! It's dumb to say all bit bulls are born bad! It's the owner that make the dog good or bad. My dog is wonderful and nice

I did get in total body trisets upper body on Wednesday, Thursday: CLB rounds 1-6 premix and Pilates, Friday 24 min of the first premix of party rockin step 2, and X41 low impact an fat burning circuit tough!! I was sore on Friday and I'm a bit sore today. Today I did yoga based abs and yoga relax express #1. Perfect because it has been a busy weekend with JTrain's 13th bday on Friday so we went out to eat (my eating was terrible this weekend!! Hope to clean it up tomorrow.) to Pizzaria UNOs and then dropped off a card at a homeschool graduation briefly as JTrain wasn't feeling well in the morning so we didn't stay for it. Yesterday I went to the Radnor Hunt Races (Steeplechase- horse racing with jumps, I wouldn't have known that until yesterday) with my mom while Hubby took all 4 to 2 baseball games that overlapped. Then we had to rush out soon aft the game and races for JTrain's performance night. Middle and High school homeschoolers performed: pianists, violinist, guitarist and a dancer. Then today after church JTrain has his Philly Missions trip meeting and then the 3 older boys had their piano recitals. We went home for dinner and then out for ice cream. Whew!

This week we are winding down school stuff. Wednesday is the final SALT program where the kids will perform some singing, for the lower classes and JTrain's class will perform a version of mid summer's night dream. And we will be out mush of the day on Thursday. So that only leaves 3 days of school, but we don't have much to do. I want to finish the science book, one chapter to go and finish the trivial game we started to create.

This week I'm hoping for:
Monday: some cardio, probably HiiT or tabata, is afterburn more wts (meaning could I still do upper body wts the next day?) or more cardio/HiiT?
Tuesday: XTrain upper body something
Wednesday: lower body, maybe CLB again that's a good on and it went by so fast!
Thursday: Pilates abs, not sure with it maybe turbo barre, but then I need to switch my upper and lower body stuff. But I'll be out all day for a Reading Phillies (minor league) game all day.
Friday: step or other cardio DVD
Saturday: maybe another X10 premix (leave for NC from Baltimore at dinner time)
Sunday-Tuesday: yoga but I'll be visiting my best friend in North Carolina, so who knows what we will do: Cathe, step class at the Y, kayaking, tubing, water skiing or just lounging around! I can't wait!! (I'll be back Tuesday night.)

Katie- sorry about your cold! That stinks! Hope you feel better soon!

Renee- a job as a nutritionist sounds great and right up your alley! What about a kid nutritionist? Get them started out right?

ladylep-- you have been getting some great workouts in and it sounds like you had a nice, yet busy!, weekend! AB is HiiT/metabolic, so you should be fine with doing weights the next day. it is a killer, though! sometimes I think that one is tougher for me than all the tabatas-- there is something about all the low impact HiiTs plus weights that just kills me...maybe just the disc work!:eek: anyway, looks like a great plan for you and sounds like school is winding down. yay!

renee-- so glad your doggie got a bath in. I need to bathe little henri, too! he hates baths and I also need to trim all his hair, which he is horrible for. I used to bring him in to the groomer, but he is so snappy with them that I have to do it myself. right now he looks pretty scruffy! especially since it rained today and his coat got all wet. anyway, it's supposed to be in the 80s this week, so I may take him outside for a bath and shave on the porch:). I think you deserve two rest days. dealing with the loss that you are, I cant imagine how difficult it would be. I am here to listen if you ever need.

going to get ready for bed here in a few. this cold has just zapped me of all energy. hoping when the sun is out again tomorrow I might feel better.

oh, and renee I completely agree that the owners are to blame and not the breed! I have seen so many sweet pitbulls around here and some little dogs that are super snappy and aggressive. we need to blame the humans who raise them, and not the dogs. my heart brakes for all the pitties at out local shelter:(. their only way out alive is through fosters and so many good dogs get put down with lots of life in them. it is so sad.

I was watching that show it was awful it said over 3000 bis were taken out of the homes in Denver that year and put to sleep because there pit bulls!! That is wrong! Now they are banned in that state all together! And the thing is let's say a child is bitten by a lab no one hears about it, it may be in one news paper no where else so it isn't told but if a pit bites then that story gets told 200 times so everyone remembers that and he is known as a killer dog. The myth about the bite being more powerful is not true they did studies of three dogs the labs bite was more stronger then a pit.

I did two workouts yesterday! Well I tried lol. I did burn sets upper body 73 minutes and turbo fire 55 minutes I made it to 43 minutes when I felt I had enough lol ! I wanted to see how far I could go.
I was looking at a rotation of where they had boot camp two times!! What???!!' Really? The lady gave me a great in depth Rey back as to how she got it done! I'd love to try to push my self like that and see if I can!!
When I tried getting back into exercise at my age after being sedentary I tell you like I warned my sister it isn't like being young and having just sore muscles, yes you have that but you feel like your bones are freaking sore!! I told her to beware that at times you may feel a bone is not just sore but braking or broke lol and I'm thinking okay if I push myself to do double boot amp or 400 walking lounges will I feel that again? Oo the pain!! But if I push through like I did I can come out stronger! !! Or not ha ha !!
I do have the time so maybe I could tell my self try to do it and see what happens give myself permission to do like boot camp one and a half time s one I get through the half I may be able to go all the way? I don't know I'm thinking .. That is taking it to the max.. Isn't it?

Just a quick update today: I did CLB premix for 36 min all strength exercises, busy with school today and a game tonight and I need to make lunch for my gang and brownies to share for the closing program for the SALT classes and picnic. And I still need to get chocolate chips! And make a double dinner tonight so one can be frozen for when I go away this weekend.

I did like it. I was really tired this morning and didn't have time to do the whole workout so this was perfect. By the end I knew I could have done the whole thing. But I couldn't keep up with her burpees, no wait, that was yesterday in AfterBurn. But I didn't think I could handle, PLB or B&G or GS: Legs, I guess I could have done a 30 premix from Legs or STS Total Body but I'd never tried just the strength exercises.

I'm hoping to get in pilates abs and some of Turbo Barre. But I'm getting to bed too late, as usual and we have a full day tomorrow with the last SALT of the school year, followed by the ending program and a picnic. So at best I'll be home by 2. But then I am hoping to get to the library and the chiropractor. Then I have to get CDawg to basketball practice by 6 (if Hubby is working late and he was tonight and will be Thursday...) then JTrain and the boy next door to meet another mom and her 2 sons so she can take them to church for youth group, then to my WW meeting and out shopping with my mom until I have to pick up JTrain and his friend. That is if Hubby can pick up CDawg from practice...

Gotta get to bed! (Clash of Clans awaits! My new fun game that my boys got me into, it's actually JTrain's account but I play too.)
