I finished CLB, did 28 minutes of yoga, and then took bugsy for a walk early this evening. have eaten clean today except for a handful of spelt ginger snaps with lacto bacillus added (pretty healthy cookies, I would say!).

renee, I am so sorry about your headaches! I wish you could find something that would get rid of them for good and I totally understand not wanting to take anything! do you think they come more often in certain types of weather, too? I have a client who has suffered from migraines for years, and hers really come on strong in certain types of weather.

Funny, I didn't see the butt thing until I read it over twice!!!!

No workout for me today, I just could not get up! :( I'm not I'll be able to get yo tomorrow at this hour.

What do I eat? Well, today I had an apple and a banana sliced with some cinnamon for breakfast. Lunch I had a strawberry, banana and water smoothies, and 2 scrambled eggs with salsa. I wanted to have salad and some chicken but there really wasn't time. 2 doc appts for the kids, then home for a quick lunch and then back out for piano lessons. Then back for dinner and then out again for a new printer. Dinner was chili in the crockpot:2# 93% lean ground beef, half a bg
 
Whoops! I started to fall asleep and accidentally hit send on my iPad! Chili was 2# ground beef, chopped onion, can black beans, can diced tomatoes, half bag of frozen corn, chili powder, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and Worcester sauce.

Falling asleep again! Gotta go alarm is set for 5 again! Hoping to get up!!

I did a three mile jog I had intentions of gym style this evening that Eason the rotation today. I wanted to but it got to late on me. I wanted more cardio. So I guess tomorrow I'll do upper body burn sets so I can do all upper body instead of splitting it up in two different upper body. I am wanting to do split workouts not parts.. I hope that made sense. I want to do every muscle two times in a week and that seems impossible if I do say bis and tris one day and chest back n shoulders next. And I want lower body twice a week but I want cardio! How can I get it all in?

Katie that's about the HA ! It makes it hard to plan stuff that is for sure.

hi girls! today was CBS plus core 1 for me since I don't have the GS series. the rest of the week is going to be crazy busy, so hoping I get all my workouts in. I may switch Thursday and Friday around, as Friday will be super busy with nygel's cello lesson in the morning (switched from its usual afternoon time) and then a concert at the school that night. plus, we are in for more arctic weather and snow:(:eek::mad:. today we got around four inches, supposed to be more tomorrow and then again Friday with temps around zero and windchills in the minus teens. still wondering when it is like this why the heck we live here! blech.

renee-- I hope you had a good night's sleep and are headache free today!

ladylep-- I know what you mean about hating to get up in the morning! this morning I had to get alec and imala out the door by 6:20 and I so dislike it! if I could, I would say that nothing should start at least until the sun rises!:p oh well. hope you got some good sleep, too, and were able to get up for your workout. 5am is brutal-- especially when there are little ones who keep you up in the night!

Well thank you Katie I don't have a headache!! But I do have a cold! My friend Lisa was sick two weeks ago and rocky my son last week had the flu! I was so proud it was skipping me lol randy my hubby had it before anyone so I thought my exercise and eating somewhat good would help. Well as the day progressed I am getting sicker and sicker ears, throat, nose! Ugh. Well I'm not giving up on it yet I am going to listen to my body but try to do something exercise wise unless it gets to awful.and sleep in gonna sleep a lot and hope I can get over it faster!
Today I was suppose to do bi and tris but I switched it all around I wanted a bit more cardio in there then what the rotation has. So in the day I was to do SCB I did a jog I wanted to do the weights later that day but it always seems there is something that keeps me from doing that second one. Then today was suppose to be flex train but I did muscle max upper body to have all the upper done so by Thursday I want to do another upper body! But I think that day is a leg workout! See I end up moving stuff around. But at least I am getting them in there. As I was doing mm I was going to do 34 minutes of rock out knockout just to add on some cardio again and have two workouts at least once this week on the same day. But like I said I got taken off that mission. II had to take Lisa ear drops to her work then looking for a place that will retrieve pics off of a floppy I know it's old but I found it in a cabinet it says Ryan's pictures I just wish I could see them . But my plan was come back and do the RK wo before I started supper but by time I got home it was time to start making supper. Yeah I went all over trying to find a place that can retrieve floppy! Grr
Oh anyway I guess tomorrow will be flex train and I like that one cause it is really move light to moderate em weights and it makes me feel it's cardio with out jumping.
Today I was okay emotionally till it seems to hit unexpectedly that it is true, I am not in a nightmare and I'm not going to wake up and ryan will be there at my door ever. I started crying again. But I dried it up and tried to keep going on. It is just unreal and the worst thing in my opinion that could ever happen. I mean I seen other women lose a child but I could not imagine and didn't want to imagine it. But now I am them. How did I get to be them? It is strange.

You guys are always doing great on your workouts! I think I am proud of us all we all have different issues and situations but we still are digging deep for fortitude to keep banging out the workouts! Even if I am eating like an oink oinker !

Oh I know this sounds like gosh she really does have to much time to think! Lol but you know as a people Americans love eating pigs, okay I read the bible and it even says in there if you do eat meat eat the clean meat not unclean meat. And swine is one of them and they are dirty nasty animals, lol we love our dogs we bath them they are not nasty yet we would never think to eat them. Yet people KNOW pigs are not really fit for human consumption. But people would not go over into the pigs pin and hug on the pigs in the mud and poop but we will eat it. ??? Lol I told ya I think to much. But isn't that ironic? A pig is considered not to cuddle but you will eat something that is too dirty to hug on. I don't know. Now I feel like I am on one of those movies that is mindless and I am the mindless chatter box.
Okay sorry to bore you wonderful ladies! I'm off here for now and rest my head so I can't beat this cold!

Got up at 5:50 and did 4day low impact all they way through! Tomorrow not workout because I'll be skiing.

hi girls! today will be supercuts for me, though I am really dragging right now and feel more like a nap! anyway, will be starting that in a few and then I am running errands all day until it's time to pick up imala from school.

not to ruffle any feathers, but I don't eat pigs because I am vegan for the reasons of nonviolence towards all other beings, environmental reasons and also health reasons. that being said, I don't judge others for their decisions and/or what they think is best for them. but, also, I love pigs:). they are very misunderstood animals. if you want to read a good article, I am posting it here:Sentience In Farm Animals: Pigs. anyway, thought you might be interested, renee-- I know you love animals, too! (and ladylep, you probably do as well;)).

I hope you feel better today, renee! at least it sounds like yours is a cold and not influenza? I hope! anyway, I think it is great that you are still getting your workouts in, but watch out if you get a fever. I worked out once with one and ended up getting much worse:(. anyway, take it easy on yourself-- extra sleep sounds wonderful!

ladylep-- way to go on the workout and the early start! I was-- as I mentioned-- dragging this morning, but hope to get my butt in gear here in a few minutes.

Lady Lep good job on the workout already. I tell you I ramble on so much I wonder if that's y I have headaches lol I have so my her chatter up there my poor brain is confused!

Katie no u won't step on toes, I love all animals and u r right I think it's cruel to eat any animals. I hate anything being mistreated.
I just think to much, and about how humans are in general. I don't think less of anyone or anything if they eat meat my family does and I do to if it's chicken sometimes but I here to for a lot. If reason like it full if hormones anymore, they are under stress, I hate thinking about how they are treated. It is sad! I don't say anything to anyone about what they eat. I mention it here cause I know you both know what I am saying. I usually keep my mouth shut about it. Only thing I have problem with is finding different things to eat. Seems all the produce around here are the same things all the time.
Today is flex train. Haven't done it yet but it is on my agenda.

I knew you would understand, renee!:) by the way, I hope all your little fur babies-- and Bruno in particular-- are doing well! I just ordered bugsy and henri some boots online. it is going to get super cold here again:mad::(. today it was 34 when I brought the kids to school at 6:30, but the temps are dropping down to 0 by tonight when we have to head out for chamber music. looking out at the long range forecast, it will be -14 again here by monday:eek:. hoping those boots come soon as the dogs just cannot handle all the cold. did you get flextrain in? I am supposed to do that today.

hello ladylep! how are you doing?

so, I am very, very sore. I think it's because I hadn't done heavy weights in some time, but I feel like a truck has run over me. now today is flextrain, so still more weights-- though I usually love this workout. yesterday was supercuts. tomorrow more weights with bis and tris. I have been super hungry this week, too, which is a bummer. think it is from the weights and from the winter lol! anyway, last night I ended up eating vegan salted caramel corn that I found at whole foods. I knew I shouldn't have, and ended up with a belly ache in the night.:eek::rolleyes: think I will have learned my lesson, though? probably not!

alright. going to try to get motivated for my workout!

Hi! We had a great skiing day yesterday and I lost 4 pounds at my WW weigh in yesterday!!! I've been doing the Simple Start with the no wheat no sugar. I feel pretty good too, even tho I have my period. And last week's emotion was in check! Maybe there's a connect?? I just couldn't get up this morning so I didn't! I was planning on working through the 4Day this week, but it's just not going to happen. I wanted to do something short and step for the fun factor. Well, TTM step only premix is what I did and then I decided to try out the abs circuits and did the pilates on and feel pretty good. I couldn't do the mermaid ones well. But it was not as intense as any of the CoreMax or XTrain abs, but there was some challenge to it, but not a ton. It was what I needed tonight. So my workout was about 30-35 min. I'm not sure what I'll do in the morning tomorrow. And I'm going to be out all day with standardized tests at church (I'll go to whole foods, if ever stop "playing" on the internet) and then volleyball in the afternoon for JTrain and then I'll probably go to the library with B since he didn't finish his work today.

It looks like you both are vegetarian or vegan. I hope I don't offend anyone with my listing my food and I eat animals, just no pig. I don't mean to...

Philly weather has been 30s and 40s during the day and it looks like we're going to get some flurries this weekend but by the end of next week we'll be back in the 20s during the day.

Katie- -14, yikes! I hope you can get those boots in!

You both want me to get a dog. I love dogs, as long as they don't shed. I had 3 cats for a while. "Buddy" lived to be 14 and then we had to put him down because of cancer under the tongue. Kids and Hubby and I had a tough time. One of the reasons Hubby doesn't want another pet, also the care and care in the frigid weather. But they bring so much joy, I tell him. I grew up with poodles and love them to death and Little K is gaga over dogs. Honestly, I don't have the time or resources to take care of an animal properly, but I really would like to have one before JTrain has moved out and that's could be only 6 years away!! Scary thought...

Ladylep you won't offend me I really do not get offended that easy. I don't like to say that all people should eat blah blah and get mad over it. No I am just learning about it all now. And I'm not completely vegatarin, I am a dreamer lol I really want to go veggie all the way but I find it is difficult to do all the time. The cost of organic foods is so high and the veggies are limited at times. You get tired of eating the same kinds of veggies. I eat chicken once in a while but I do get the ones that SAY no hormones or I eat eggs. I don't know what I am I guess. I know I'd love to eat all veggie but not sure how yet. It is a slow process but I do think studies shoe vegatarin live an avg of 10 years longer then meat eaters now that is something to read more about. I am wanting to try the juicing I saw a documentary today it was wonder ! Called fat sick nearly dead! Very eye opening.
Since you are getting your workouts in are you feeling like you can tell a difference? I mean I know you had mentioned you are doing short workouts to be consistent and I bet the consistency is what matter most and diet of course.

Katie I hope u got booties on them babies! R dogs are in at night here at 35 degrees. Well they actually gave been looking sad so I let them stay in at night layly even if it's not cold! I think it is funny but Bruno my sons dog sleeps on the couch in family room! I had a bed in laundry room for him on the floor. Every morning I see him on the couch like a person lol. He is a sweet big boy! Duke my lab is not liking Bruno around him much! I think cause my lab is old. Poor boy his legs give out on him at times! Arthritis he is 15 years old so I am surprised he has made it this long. I love him to but it's so hard to cuddle with cause he stinks! Poor thing lives to hug and will try to but his coat on the back it smells like cheese or dirty butt! He will not bath! Never knew labs didn't like water! That's the first one! Most love water. Anyway I think he isn't gonna make it much longer.
Well today I was to do cardio leg blast but again I ended up having to derail it. I was sick to much to do a workout. I ended up sleeping all day but then had to pick up a friend and bring her home. She was going to Wv this weekend to c family and brick down! Sad. But we will figure it out. Tomorrow I hope to do cardio leg blast and add a few upper body weights too to get me weights upper two times in a week.
I wish she would do a rotation of all upper body two time a week and one HIIT a week one run a week and one kickboxing and one step! Lol I love we have a lot to choose from!
Oh another thing I bought the DVDs called addicted! I am previewing it tomorrow I hope I like them! They are heavy bag workouts!! They seem to have pumping music but I like Cathes music better lol
 
hi girls! sorry I was m.i.a. yesterday! too much running around. just got back with the kids from lessons and trekking around in 5 inches of snow:(. happy to be home, safe and sound! yesterday I did bis and tris super early in the morning as the day was so crazy. today is my rest day, then I think supercuts and yoga abs tomorrow.

renee-- I hope the boots come soon, too! your lab sounds like my little henri. I am actually surprised that he is still doing as well as he is. he will be 16 in February. he is completely blind, and can't hear very well and he, too, hates baths and getting his hair cut-- so he is often stinky!:eek: I did give him a hair cut recently, though, so he is looking pretty good right now. Bruno sounds like a real cuddler! bugsy, our boston terrier, sleeps either with imala or alec in their beds every night-- it depends on which one of them says they can stand his snoring!:p hope you are feeling better and that you like your new dvds!

ladylep-- you won't offend me at all! like is said before, I don't judge people. that is why I really could not believe the way my sister acted on Christmas. to each their own. I do try to educate people about the horrors that go on and the health benefits of a vegan diet, but I don't like to shove my beliefs down anyone's throat:p. post away! I hope you are able to get a dog sometime. it is a lot of work and it is so difficult when they get old and saying goodbye, but I can't imagine my life without them, really. I grew up with dogs, too-- we lived in a big house out in the country and usually had 5 or 6 dogs at a time plus cats, too (and parakeets, hermit crabs, and hamsters-- my poor, patient mom!).

Looks like everyone forgot to check in ! Lol. Well I have been fighting this cold so had to try to take a day off and sleep all day that was Friday then Saturday I still was really bad. But yesterday I went for a jog to see if I could get some clearing out of the lungs. I did okay it was nice cause when I jog I don't feel the pains or anything I just feel good till I'm done. I was tired but I am getting better as it goes so last night around 8 I wanted to get caught up in my rotation again and decided to do Supercuts and today I will try to do a weight lifting workout. I am strange I guess cause I can do cardio but the lifting while having a cold seems to make it not so pleasurable! But like I said I think the cold is on the last dew days so I think I should be able to try a lifting workout maybe not go to heavy.

I did have much to share so that's why I didn't check in. I only got in CF premix fire walker tabata in yesterday and today I only got it 11 min of HiiT 30/30 this morning. I'm not sure what I'm going to do this week. I need to find a good rotation or at least come up with my own for just this week. I wish I could come up with a framework for weight loss say cardio:HiiT or tabata/wts/another cardio/wts/metabolic/combo? I don't know. Plus I don't know what workouts are metabolic except for afterburn. I wish she would add metabolic and HiiT to the shop cathe sidebar.
 
That's a good idea! I would like that as well! I don't know what is metabolic either except I think and I may be wrong but afterburn of course, Supercuts, flex train, I think so is cardio leg blast? But it may be more of a circuit workout. I get confused to between taba and HIIT and metabolic ! I think metabolic is kind of light weights used through out the workout to keep muscles working and it has cardio effect because of the weights. And I think the HIIT is 30 minutes of hard work and 20 sec rest and the tabata seems to be the same! So it is confusing. I want a rotation of five carditis weather it is a hit or metabolic or not and I want an upper bidy two times and lower two times in one week. I think that would get rid of fat! I get a headache if I try to figure it out! Lol. I know I want one cardio to be a HIIT the other one a jog steady state another a step workout. So there three cardio now how to add two more cardio plus the two upper two lower body or maybe a full body like let's say sts total body on Monday and Thursday have muscle max do that for three weeks and then later switch it to push pull . I don't know maybe we can think of some kind of rotation!
I crossfire and to the max is considered metabolic in some areas but has HIT as well. I think maybe Katie can tell us more

Hi,I'm new here but old in the forum.I'm 40,with 149 pounds,5'6tall, and happy to be in this very informative page.I finished STS 2weeks ago and my week off I did LIS 4days and I lost 1pound, yesterday I start with January rotation. My goal is to keep lifting weights the way my body doesn't looks old. So today Legs Gym style.
 
hi girls! sorry I have been off the boards for a few days! just crazy busy. sunday we were gone most of the day-- I did supercuts plus yoga ab circuit. yesterday I was watching a friend's 5 year old and nygel had a cello rehearsal for an upcoming recital-- I did legs from xtrain plus an ab circuit. today was afterburn. I have been feeling like I am coming down with something but hoping I can kick it out of my system before it takes hold. tomorrow is rik's bday and I still need to get a cake and do some shopping. it won't be fun running around in all of this arctic weather! it was -15 last night and supposed to be -20 tomorrow night, with highs around 0.:eek::mad

renee and ladylep-- I like your ideas for rotations and for labeling the workouts metabolic conditioning or hiit/tabata. I think the metabolic conditioning workouts are the ones that use lighter weights to tone and also raise your heartrate, with shorter bursts of more intense cardio in between-- so supercuts, flextrain, lean legs and abs and maybe even great glutes, I would think of afterburn as metabolic conditioning, but on the back cover it is labeled as HiiT-- guess it is all low impact HiiT like AOLIH and maybe cardio supersets is the same?? I don't know! the more I think about it, the more confused I get!

renee I hope you are feeling better! I am the opposite of you-- I can do weights when I am under the weather, but the cardio fries me. if I am really sick and push it anyway-- as I often do-- then I push through the workout and end up feeling exhausted/burnt out afterward. hope you are over the gunk today!

ladylep-- at least you are getting some intense bursts of exercise in!

welcome mariposa! I am 43 and would love to tone up and slim down some this year. I am thinking about a week of just ashtanga yoga after I finish up this January rotation. we'll see...:)
