hi girls-- well, I wish I could say I slept last night, but it was a rough one. yesterday brought some stressful news that I think is the culprit. rik found out that he has an inguinal hernia which requires surgery
. the worst part is that he is self-employed and right now has no insurance, so major drag here. I think that was way too much on my mind so I ended up not sleeping most of the night. it is another gorgeous day here, though, so I got up and did CSS plus 40 minutes of yoga and then took the dogs for a walk. yes, eva, bugsy seems to put up with most weather, though I know he doesn't mind skipping walks in the super cold days of winter and when it is super hot, he comes home and stretches out like a flat pancake on the hardwood floor
.
eva that yoga dvd sounds and looks a lot like bryan kest's dvds-- I went and checked it out. I am so picky about yoga teachers, otherwise I think I would buy it-- there are three that I love and they seem to put out enough dvds/practices to keep me practicing
. I think it's great that you incorporate that into your weekly rotations. oh and aren't buns on fire always a good thing?! glad you had a nice intense workout-- seems like you get lots of those, though! it sure is warm where you are! I am so grateful it has cooled off here-- extended forecasts all look like highs in 70s to low 80s and lows in upper 50s to mid 60s. I love that-- especially when the humidity is so low. the kids are having a nice break from all their work, though they did seem to be bored senseless last week (esp when it was so hot and no one felt like getting outdoors). anyway, alec and imala are headed to the scary movie tomorrow night with my nieces and nephews and nygel and his cousins close in age will be here to do something fun. thanks for asking about the kids
Melissa-- I am sorry that you are taking a break as I will miss hearing from you-- even if you are taking a break from workouts for a while! I really do think we probably all need that once in a while, especially for you right now as you have had that hip pain for way too long. anyway, I hope you will come back on and join us again sometime soon! it has been great getting to know you, so keep in touch when you can!
renee-- glad you got outside for a jog! that sounds perfect
. sounds like you are super busy! when do you get another vacation from work? seems like your last one just ended up with you in pain from the stone
. hoping you get a break soon from the hectic schedule. oh, and did you see the update on the new dvd? I am really looking forward to that one and the kickbox one-- I am not a huge step fan, so these two will probably be my favorites (or I will love to hate them!)
ladylep--glad you are getting some time in with friends and family this summer. great job on still getting your workouts in! I don't have the timesaver series-- do you like it? good luck with the raw diet-- I just got my sunwarrior protein powder restocked in the mail-- really love that stuff and it is vegan and raw. guessing you have tried it before. glad the bday party went well, too!
okay, I am going to get a couple errands done around the house-- lots of dirty clothes calling my name.
take care,
katie
