Greetings,
I hope you all had a good weekend. We were busy, and mine went by way too fast, unfortunately!
Melissa, welcome back! I am sending you some energy and willpower in regards to food know you can get back on track. Once you get some momentum, it gets a little easier every day!!
I wonder if you could get on a schedule of having 4-5 clean eating days and then a cheat day/meal, if that would make it more bearable for you. The constant sense of deprivation is what can really make watching what you eat super depressing for people, but if you know you have an indulgence coming soon, it can make it easier to push through. I guess that works for me.
Ladylep, sounds like Katie is going to give you a good rotation, so I hope that works for you. I guess if I was you I'd work this problem backward. It does not sound like a rotation is the biggest need for you per se, it's more about figuring out how much time you can commit every day and then working out consistently. You have such limited time during your day, that a rotation with a lot of long workouts is simply not going to be a good match for you. How much time can you realistically set aside to workout out? Take that number and then pick a workout...as opposed to picking a workout first. And since you mostly do Cathe workouts, you'll probably have to stick to premixes, since an hour out of your day is almost non-existent.
To your question, I spend about an hour every day weekday working out...but I don't have any kids! I do a long day on Saturday, for about 90 minutes or so...which I may divide into two. I also try to go for a walk after dinner 3 days a week. I work a schedule that allows me to come home and workout every day. However, I'm not going to be wearing any bikini's any time soon! Even though I workout, I am not skinny...I still need to figure out how to get rid of my last 10-15 pounds or so. Some of it is genetics, I think...and just coming to terms with what I can realistically achieve. However, I'm a size 8 now, down from a size 14, so I'm making some progress..but I would like to get down to a consistent size 6, which I cannot seem to get to. Since I do have some fat, I know I am still bigger than I probably need to be, even with all that exercise, and a relatively clean diet. I'm still plugging away, though.
The ART workouts can definitely work up a sweat, but it's not like doing tabata or anything. They are more of a steady state cardio workout with some resistance training. My heart rate definitely stays within my training zone until we hit the floor for ab work.
Katie, congratulations on surviving Bravo! What do you guys have queued up next for the summer? Hopefully some down time! I think you mentioned some travel earlier this summer...Thanks for the youtube link, too!!
Renee, I'm looking forward to hearing about your PeakFit rotation. I was following the discussion on the OD board about that too. I need to revisit those workouts, I've hardly done them. I'm pretty obsessed with my ART workouts for the time being and am happy to see a little progress from those, finally.
