STS first time!

Good morning!

No time to post yesterday, but I did TBT Upper. I need to start writing down the weights I use for these workouts so I can increase them each time. I wish there were 1RMs for these other workouts too. This morning I did Low Impact Challenge. That last step combo certainly is a challenge for my brain! And I had forgotten about the blast at the end. I love the way these workouts work my core!

Very humid today, but at least the rain has stopped for a while. Can't do anything about my hair in this weather!

Colleen, your daughter is so cute, she looks like a little princess!

Marie, that is scary about your fainting. That sounds exactly like what happened to me a few months ago. Lucky you were already at the dr's office so they could check you out right away.

I did not see any video clips either.

Yes this teenage driving is very scary. She had a basketball tournament in Foxboro yesterday and it was raining in sheets so I drove there down I95. We were done around 5 and it had stopped raining so she said she wanted to drive home to get more experience on the highway. That is stressful enough but then it started raining harder bit by bit, and getting darker, and I realized I was gripping the arm rest on my door. I was trying to be calm for her sake but when she said she had enough I was more than ready to take over driving!

As far as sports, I encouraged them to try things when they were younger, because alot of it is social as well. Now that they have gotten older I let them choose, but I encourage them to always do something so they get some exercise. These days most kids want to sit in front of the computer for too long. I have to say that if I had a boy, I would discourage football, it is so rough!

Jean, enjoy your movie, sounds like a good way to spend a sunday afternoon.

Good Evening ladies! This is the first time I have gotten on the computer all weekend! I have been feeling bad since Sunday last week. The congestion I can deal with. But, I have had flu like symptoms that were contining to get worse and worse. Saturday I got up @ 8:00 am, which is late for me. I ate breakfast, took a shower, did not exercise, and went back to bed at 9:30 am. I then got up at 11:30. I continued to get worse and worse. I had horrible headaches, extreme nausea, I looked absolutely horrible, I felt horrible. My husband made me lunch, I ate and then crawled in the recliner in the livingroom and watched tv all afternoon. Naped a little. I felt like death. My husband felt so bad for me, he started researching stuff. And, it was those f***ing B/c pills. I did not take one today and I feel 95% better. I did exercise today, I did my morning cardio and afternoon cardio today. I am looking forward to getting back on the exercise wagon. I felt like a piece of shit yesterday!!! I will just deal with the menstral pain, I will take advil or motrin. I have not exercised normally since starting those pills. I gained 3 pounds!!! I also have been bleeding since Sunday. My normal period is 3-4 days. I am now on day 7 and still going. Not having much luck with those damn pills.

So, starting tomorrow, I will be back. Wish me luck. I have had a week from hell. SO, off to a new week tomorrow. :)

I missed all of you girls. I truely have missed my exercise. I turn into the devil when I don't exercise. But, this time I felt so bad I couldn't even think about exercising.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

Good night ladies!

Well I feel like a dork. I swear I saw somewhere on the forums that there were video clips up but now I can't find it anywhere. Apparently I was hallucinating. Or it was my pregnancy brain ;) I did just see that clips will be up in the next week or two and that was posted yesterday. Sorry for getting everyone excited.

Thanks for the replies regarding the sports :)

Today I was on the third day of 4DS and did bootcamp. That was hard but fun! I used to do her other bootcamp on Fittv and was thinking of getting it. It's been so long though I can't remember what it's like. Does anyone have it? I was thinking that or Drill Max...seems like that would be kind of like a bootcamp. Tomorrow is Kickbox and my day off from work :) YAY! Mon and Tue off :)

Colleen- Loved your pictures. You kids are adorable and you're super cute yourself chica :)

Carolyn- Your darn knee. Really hope it feels better soon. I feel ya on the frustration.

Jean- You're doing well with always getting that extended stretch in. Good memory too on Jack. We decided to cross that name off the list though cuz Tony so kindly reminded me  we used to know a dog named Jack and now I will forever associate that name with a dog. We do have a few others though. We are thinking Vincent for a middle name. That's my grandpa's name. For first names we are thinking Breckin (my favorite so far) and Hunter. We want to think of more though and then have a list of 3 or so and then when he is born we will pick.

Mary- I love LIC but always forget about it for some reason. Thanks for reminding me ;)

Missy- Sorry to hear you were sick all weekend. Sounds like hell! Sounds like you figured out the cause though so that's good.

Ugh! I'm bored! This night has been soooo slow. The patients have been really good, well except for one. He was super agitated and started swinging out at one of the male nurses. Both the patient and the nurse are like 6ft tall. The nurse was trying to hold his hands down but couldn't so the other 6ft male nurse came in and grabbed the patient from behind. They both struggled to get him in a wheelchair and then a vest restraint. We had to give him an injection to settle him down and now he is resting in bed. We ever only have three nurses at most on the unit and many times it's all women. We have to hold down patients quite often. Thanks to Cathe I'm one of the stronger ones that can really hold them down but in my preg state I've been staying away from those situations. So many of the women I work with are so weak. I wish I could tell them to go lift weights...gain some muscle ladies so you can actually help haha!

1 hour and 45 minutes left. Anyone up late tonight?

More rain today! I think all the makeup games they have scheduled for this week will need to be made up!

Carolyn, would your daughter consider Brownies/Girl Scouts? That is social but low-key. Or does she have a friend who already does an activity that she might be interested in? My girls don't always want to try something on their own but will do it if they know someone else doing it.

I got Boot Camp in a deal of the day but haven't done it yet, maybe I will pull it out this week. I do remember it being a good one from Fit TV.

Missy, I never heard of a reaction like that from BC pills, but so glad you figured it out!

Good Morning ladies! I got up this morning and did 45 minutes of cardio. I was running late today! But, I feel 95% better. I still have mild allergy symptoms, but I can handle that! My nausea and body illness is gone. Just waiting on this period to end! But, atleast I don;t feel sick!

I am so excited for the new dvd's! I was so excited the first day she opened the presale. I ordered immediately. I have kinda forgot about it, or trying to forget. But, now that it is getting so close, and the pictures, etc. I am freaking out!!! I just can't wait!

Can't wait.........

Well, I am at work! Lots to do! BBL, everyone have a nice Monday!!!

Mary- as for trying another brand.....No, I am just going to deal with my cramps! That's what advil is for. I was really leary to take them in the first place, I feared this would happen and it did. So, I will just leave it be!!!!

Too bad, I did hope it would help, but it nearly killed me!!!!

Oh man, I noticed I was having a hard time taking a deep breath today and I was like what's up with that...then I was like, duh! It's the bazillion push ups from yesterday and crazy-a$$ chest DOMS! I'm even sore in my back area from the rear delt flies. Whew! Just need to take little breaths I guess! lol

I even did some of the parts of TurboBarre yesterday since I really wanted to get some lower body and abs worked. I don't know what it is. Even when I'm burning like heck from the leg lifts I never really feel it the next day with DOMS. You'd think that kind of stinging would produce some effect:confused:. The ab section is good on that one, though.

Carolyn- it'll be so nice after you get a diagnosis of you knee issue so you know what sort of things you can do safely! Usually, injuries just limit your options rather than taking them all away and it's nice to know what direction you need to go in! That's great that the Trisets work didn't hurt anything! Yay! It can be expensive but I'm glad I did the MRI and physical therapy. I wouldn't have been able to figure out the exact cause of my problems or realize the muscle imbalance issue I had. PT made me realize I had been doing lunges and squats incorrectly...not just with knee alignment but I also tended to over use my quads and never really engaged my glutes and hamstrings like I needed...hence the muscle imbalance. Expensive lessons, but they were necessary I guess!

Marie- I have the Bootcamp dvd you're talking about. I only tried it once, though. I'm not a huge fan of jumping jacks and I just remember this one section where she did jacks, quarter jacks than air jacks. I have total dread because of that one section! I really need to try it again and figure out a different move during that part. I can't remember what the rest of the workout was like! Also Happy Birthday, too! I like Breckin, also!

Jean- I'm really curious how your bone density scan will come back, too! I'm really hoping the weight stuff I'm doing will help me that way for the future!

Missy- I'm so sorry the BCP messed with you like that!!:( What a bummer! It's so weird, when I was in my twenties I took the pill with no problems whatsoever but when I hit 30 I couldn't tolerate them either. I honestly think the newer BCP are worse, too. You would think the newer versions would be made to be better but I've heard more horror stories in the last 10 years from BCP then I ever did before that! At one point I tried to take Reclipsen and I was a mess for two weeks and then I just threw them away. It was pretty dramatic and noticeable...although not as awful as what you went through! I hope you feel better soon!!

Have a great day ladies!

Good Evening! All I can say is...it feels good to back exercising! I missed it so much!

I have been eating fresh squash and cucumbers out my garden for some time. But, I just picked the first cherry tomatoes, and OMG!!! They tasted amazing!!! I was like a kid in a candy store, standing in my kitchen! I want to keep eating them. I have already ate 5!!! (cherry)

hehehehe! I am crazy!!!

Carolyn---I remeber when I was in girl scouts as a child. My mom was actually the troup leader. I love girl scout cookies!!!! I always buy boxes and boxes of cookies every year! I have to limit myself these days. They are far from healthy!!! But, as a child. My mom would receive cases and cases and cases, I remember our living room being filled with them. She ended up buying case after case because I would not stop eating them! But, you do so many fun things with children of the same age. I think it would good for you daughter. Good luck!! :D

Good Morning! I just got back to the office. I had to go to walmart....if that says anything. I was in line and the lady in front of me......well (please, don't judge me) but I am going to say it anyways......she has several children, does not work, and yet gets most of her items for free. And then stands there chatting with others about how she has raised her children for "FREE". I am a red head.....okay, my face was glowing!!! I was so mad, I just wanted to tell her, no its not "free" (we) the working class paid for your children. I was so mad!!!!

Okay, now that I vented! I am having a lovely day. I am now bleeding full force(TMI) but hopefully this means in 3 more days I will be done????? hopefully!

I got my morning run in, and I feel good. I don't know how people go through life without exercise. I feel like crap then I don't.

Okay, gotta run!!! BBL! :D

Carolyn---Good luck at your Dr Appt!!!
PS....Cuda just wants his mommy to look extra good this summer!!! :p

Oh man Carolyn, that doc sounds like he was just guessing and putting you off :(. XRays really aren't helpful with knee stuff. When I went in, that's basically what my doc told me. He said we could do the x-ray (and pay for it) and it wouldn't probably tell us much and then wind up doing an MRI anyway. I figured why pay for x-rays and an MRI? MRI shows all the soft tissues as well as the bony structures so it would give a lot more information. Otherwise they are just taking a stab in the dark. If it's chondromalcia like me or a problem with the meniscus or other cartilage then taking the anti-inflammatories will just decrease the pain and inflammation temporarily. Unfortunately, you still won't know what the problem is, whether it's chronic or will heal just fine, if it is serious and needs surgery, or what types of exercise and movements are safe for you to do in the mean time and for the future. I really feel for you girl! I was there a year and a half ago:(. I really hope you can get it all figured out soon!!

Missy- when I read your post about the lady at WalMart I started imagining all the things I would so want to say in that situation! Something along the lines of say "who do you think paid for your kids lady, the money fairy??"! I have to say I've gotten a much bigger mouth in my old age...in situations where I would have stewed and kept my mouth shut when I was younger I'm much more likely to shoot my mouth off these days! Heh. You'd think I'd have more patience and tolerance as I get older but it seems like that's not the case!:eek: I'm so glad your feeling better and back on the exercise wagon! I know how much better you feel when you can do that!:D

Today I did Afterburn again! I do that one a lot it seems like! :p I was totally going to do Intensity today but I've been pretty nervous about step aerobics since my knees bothered me after AS and BM2. I think I'll just hold off for a few months before I attempt any of those discs again. I've been checking out various minimalist or at least super lightweight shoes at that website you turned me onto Carolyn. Thanks for that! I think at some point I'll get something for step aerobics. Low impact step I can do just fine without shoes but high impact with lots of torquey/twisty turns is tough. Actually, torquey/twisty choreography may not be something I should do anymore period...shoes or no shoes. I'm hanging onto those dvds though! I can't quite get rid of them yet!

Later girls!

Carolyn---Thats typical. Did you go to an orthopedic? Well, a xray only show bone issues. breaks, fractures, etc. They needed to just order the MRI and omit the xrays. But, the insurance companies are actually making the doctors do this shit now. If we know a patient needs an MRI because is is not a break (for example) in order to get it pre certed, we have to treat with medication and have xrays done....even though we know that would not show anything. It is total B/S. My girls go through this this daily. I was doing a pre cert last week and said to a insurance rep.....why don't you tell me how to treat my patient? Since, you seem to know so much! Then she said in order to get the MRI, the patient needs..... Crazy B/S!!!! I know what you are going through. I feel for you. Be careful, don't injury it more.

Holy smokes Missy! I didn't know insurance companies were requiring that now! Arghh! Insurance! I hate it! They love to dictate to optical exactly what we should do in our exams and exactly what we will be paid (never mind what the actual fees are) too. They have all the power and they screw the doctors and the patients!! Sorry, a little venting there:eek:.

Oh Carolyn, so sorry they did not find anything with your knee. I have the same complaints with insurance. My sister is a dr. and she said insurance companies don't want to pay for the expensive tests like MRI, so they make dr.s do x-rays first. But when an MRI is needed in the first place, it doesn't make sense to do an x-ray, so really the expense is higher because of the unnecessary test.

Betty, I didn't want to but I had to turn my heat on tonight, my house was so chilly!

Where is everyone tonight??

Colleen, as I get older, I also have less patience!

Carolyn, I hope Wednesday finds your knee feeling good!

Good night one and all!

Good Morning ladies! Happy Wednesday!

Last night I did Bootcamp---Intensity Series! Cathe kicked my butt! I haven't workouted out to that intensity in over a week, due to being sick. It felt so good!

I was going to chat with you ladies last night but we had horrible thunderstorms and the lightening was terrible. So, I just hund out with the family.

Yes, insurance companies are costing the patients a huge increase due to them dictating what needs to be done. First, the are increasing premiums, increasind deductibles/coinsurance. So, in the long run....they are costing patients more and more. it is terrible. But, what can you do?

Dr's are not innocent either, but this time it is the insurance company's fault.

Last week my exercise ball died! I had to air it up several times, but it will not hold air. So, I had to buy a new one! Yeah! I love buying exercise things. My ball was 10+ years old, so it lasted a good long time!!!! But, when purchasing a ball....I noticed they sell balls with sand in them now. So it will add 2 pounds. I thought that would be cool for ball exchange, B&G, and all exercises where you use the weight of the ball to increase cardio and such. I just bought a regular but I am thinking of buying one of those to increase certain exercises. What do you think?

Okay, have a nice day...gotta run! BBL! :D

Hi Ladies!

I am not able to get my workouts in lately. Last night was one daughter's piano recital, then today I had to head into the middle school for a 'celebration of learning' (look at all the work they've done in the 7th grade), and tonight there is an awards ceremony at the High School. Looking at what I just wrote, I really can't complain about what my girls have accomplished this year, but I wish I had time to workout!

Carolyn, that is great about your daughter! Sounds like she just needed to warm up, and hopefully she will enjoy those activities and they will give her confidence. And for field hockey, you may also want to get some protective goggles/eyewear.

I have been sticking with the LIS workouts, but Missy you are making me want to do boot camp!
