STS first time!

Happy Friday! OMG, I have been swamped for days. Today I am off...so I get a break till I go back to work on Tuesday. The day after a holiday is always busy, but come Wednesday everything should calm back down. But, for now I am going to enjoy my 4 days off. :D

Today, I have the follwing scheduled for workouts: ;)
1 hr cardio (morning)
B&G (tonight)

I have to make sure I stick with my intense exercising since I will be eating cake tomorrow!!!!! :p

Thanks for my b-day wishes!!! This is the first B-day in a long time that I feel amazing, so I am very excited about that. :eek:

Okay, off to do my morning cardio. I am running behind but only because I have been doing chores so I can watch tv and rest this afternoon.

No workout for me today. I'm looking forward to Afterburn tomorrow! I can't wait to get back in the groove of more intense exercise again. This week has been nice but I'm over it now:p. I will say though that the yoga I did on Wednesday gave me crazy upper body DOMS!:eek: I remember that from when I did it before and it's so suprising! Tons of chaturangas where she does it slow and your basically holding a low pushup for a bit before you go into updog. My chest and front delts are still feeling it!

Happy Birthday Missy! I hope you have a great weekend planned. Have fun getting all those new clothes, too!:D

Jean I'm so glad your mom is doing better! Starting STS on Monday is awesome! I bet you're going to be so happy to do that again! Be careful with that shoulder though and don't feel bad if you have to go lighter on the weights than you remember doing before. There's no harm in it and your still doing STS!:D When do you think you'll do Drill Max again?

Carolyn- I'm not going anywhere for Memorial weekend either! Since we planned Disney we decided to take it easy expense wise. We are having some people over on Saturday though so we'll probably do the old cookout and campfire thing like we usually do. My sister and her husband just booked plane tickets so they can go with us to Disney, too! My other sister already had plans to be down there about that time (although she already had it booked and will be down there a few days later than us) so it should be so much fun with all the kids/cousins enjoying Disney together! I can't wait!:eek:

Have fun at the Cape Betty and Mary! It sounds like a blast! Are you guys getting pretty hot weather? We are supposed to get up to 99 degrees today!

Betty- for a second there I read the gross with the plant protein powder and almost misread that you hated it! Whew! I re-read it quickly and realized it was okay, thank goodness! I'm always worried people won't like something I recommended then I feel guilty!:eek: Hee!

Ho boy- slow at work today...but I will be done within the hour! I get to have a few hours to shop before I pick up the kids! Time to hit the stores for some summer clothes for mama!:p
 
Good Afternoon. It sure does feel good to be back chatting with my friends!!!

My husnand is working today, but I made lunch and we meet half way on a back road under the trees and sat on the back of his pickup truck and had a nice picnic. It was very peaceful and lovely. We never get to do lunch because we work so far from each other. So it was a nice treat.

Tomorrow, is my birthday, but it is also a very special day. My husband and I meet 12 years ago and have been together since. So, my birthday is always a special day. I have been with my husband since I was 17 years old. I don't think that happens anymore. So, we dont take it for granted. I love my husband very much!!! We have an amazing life together!!! :D

So, tomorrow I am eating a big piece of cake, but today I am trying to be good!!!

Tonight, I am going to a Zumba class @ 6:15. (The instructor I like is teaching tonight, so I gotta go!!!!) :eek:

Monday--- I start Meso 2!!! Very excited! I have actually missed STS this week, but I sure was loving dong the other DVD's!!!

Good Evening! I finished Drill Max and feel amazing! I matched Cathe on everything, even the dive bombers!!! :D

I ate a BIG piece of birthday cake! It was so yummy! My husband baked me a cake so I would feel better about eating it! I always get "scared" when I don't know what is in something (calories) hahaha :eek:. So, I endulged! And it felt so good!

He also, made me my favorite dinner. Grilled BBQ chicken!!! I made a salad and hashbrown cassarole to go with it! His favorite is hashbrown cassorole. So we both ate our favorite today! :p

I hope evreyone had a lovely day! Off to bed!

The scale went down after eating cake! YEAH!!!!! :p That is proff that as long as you exercise you can indulge here and there!!!

Carolyn---How is the puppy doing?

Have you ever woke up and thought "I feel a little sore" And then you go for your run or get on the elliptical or put in a DVD and then realize ...oh, its more than a little!!!! Well, that was me this morning! Drill Max always gets me!!! But, I lOVE it!!! :eek:

So, I finished my hour of cardio this morning!!! And now my husband and I have to go get 20 bales of hay and then stack in barn. Every bale of hay is 50 pounds. I have lost that much weight. When you actually pick up something that you have lost, it really puts it into prespective. It is unbelievable.

Jean--- That is too bad about your daughter, but she can only change things. I know from experience, my mother and I have had a rocky relationship for several years. But, she has patched things up with me. I still remember the things she did and things she chose to do. But, that is the past. You only live once, so I try to make the best of things. We now talk all the time. We actually live 6 1/2 hrs away from each other. But, we sometimes visit. Not alot, because we both have alot of animals and hectic work schedules so it makes it hard. But, at least we talk. All I am saying is never give up....maybe one day she will come around! :)

As for weight loss, my husband and I were talking last night about that. I am happy where I am, if I lose more that is okay too. But, I am not going to lose sleep over it. I think I could lose maybe 10 pounds more at the most. So we will see.

I got new living room furniture for my birthday. We picked it up a few hours ago. It looks so nice in my living room. I am very excited about it. I also got a nice bookcase to go in the livingroom. I put all my cookbooks/exercise books/animal books/ and hubbys books on it. My living room now looks good!

I also, refinished a wooden chair yesterday. Now it matches my scrapbook/craft desk. I am going to work on my scrapbook this afternoon. I have not crafted in 6 months, so I am going to make time today since I got all of my chores done.

The hay is all unloaded. I actually stacked the hay today in the barn. Normally,. Tim (hubby) will stack and I will just unload off of truck. But, today we switched jobs because he has a head cold. And he also has hay allergies. So, I did not want him to feel worse. I actually did not think I could throw the bales up high, but I did it and did not struggle at all, thanks to cathe!!!!:D

Okay...off the scrapbook! BBL!!! :p
 
Hey guys! Just want to post quick...didn't have time to read the posts so I'll respond later.:eek: I'm still here though and working out!

Did Afterburn yesterday! Whoo Hoo! I totally can't wait to get the new workouts. I have this plan where I'm going to alternate between AB, AT, To the Max and CrossFire. Like say do AB and To the Max one week and CrossFire and AT the next.

We have people over so I'm sneaking this post in...I better get back to being social before I get caught and they give me crap for being on the computer!:eek: I swear I'll be back to write more and hope to catch up on the posts!!!

Carolyn--thanks for the comlements! They really mean alot! I am glad to here the puppy is getting better! Time!!!! Puppies just take time! But, one day you will realize, "no accidents" Also, yardwork is a great workout. Sometimes you hit muscles you didn't think you had! That is the best!!! I too love yardwork. My husband and I are always doing something outside! I am a nut about my yard looking good! I always judge someones house by there yard! Maybe I shouldn't but, I think if they don't care what people think of there yard. Imagine what the inside looks like....most people don't see that!!!!! hahaha (I know, I am bad!!!)

I just finished B&G!!! I am going to feel it in the morning!

80% chance of rain today and 60% tomorrow. Due to the tropical storm hugging the east coast. We do need the rain!

Happy Memorial Day ladies!

Sorry I haven't posted much this weekend! It's crazy how it gets when I'm at home. We went out for dinner and drinks with our neighbors on Friday. My mom babysat the kids and we stayed out pretty late! Saturday was pretty mellow but it seemed I constantly had stuff to do around the house. Then yesterday we had people over with their kids to swim in our little pool, then later at night we ordered some pizza and had a fire. Unfortunately, Mark's grandma is back in the hospital with the diverticulosis this weekend, too so we had to go down there to visit her. She seems to be doing a lot better this time, though. They really don't want to put her through another colonoscopy so they are just basically watching to see if the bleeding stops. It's such a delicate balance with her health because on the one hand she needs to be on coumadin to prevent a stroke (she's had several mini-strokes in the past) and yet it causes problems with the bleeding. It's pretty much a waiting game at this point:(.

Yesterday I did Kettlebell Kickboxing! This is going to be my circuit week. Today I'm going to do another new workout I got recently called Extreme Calorie Burn. We'll see how I like it. I kind of went on a buying frenzy this past month:eek:. VF is a very dangerous and enabling place! It has really introduced me to new and fun workouts I wouldn't have discovered otherwise, though!:D

Jean- I'm so sorry to hear about the friction with your daughter's husband. It is SO hard with family when their significant other is a problem. It's tough to tolerate a situation with a loved one when you see they are not in a good situation and yet they won't leave. We have this situation with a family member right now and all we can do is tolerate the person and it is VERY hard. I hope someday you guys can work it out.

Take care of the knees Carolyn!! I'm such a paranoid freak about the knee joint. It's SO unfair that that stupid joint isn't built better! All that yard work probably burned tons of calories! I'm not a big yard work person...I pretty much leave that up to Mark!:eek:

Missy- I can't wait to see the pictures of you when you write your success story! I bet you look smokin'!!:eek:

Well, my monthly monster is here to visit. So, I feel like crap. At least I have the day off to rest.

Carolyn & Jean--- The scale went down 2 days in a row. Then yesterday I ate alot....b/c my period was coming. I get so hungry right before. So today it actually went up .6 pds. So, now I have to wait for the scale to be nice again....I want that .6 off!!!! I am not going to stress over it though. The scale always goes up a little when I start my cycle.

Jean---yes, I stay extremely busy. Sometimes, I wake up on the weekends and never sit until bed time. But, I can say I never have trouble sleeping. hahaha :p

Okay, off to rest. I have terrible cramps.

Missy- I swear it's like we live in the same house! We are totally synced up. My period started today, too. I'm so glad though because this month has been a hormonal disaster for some reason. Whenever it finally starts it's almost like my body resets for the next month and it's a new chance for a better month ahead! I hope at least!:eek: I sure hope your feeling better today. Did you decide to try the BCP?

Jean- Congratulations on doing the leg disc!:D I always thought Meso 1 moved really fast. Meso 2 does slow down some. Those leg discs in Meso 2 were always deceptively hard, though. I went as heavy as I could and I really got the DOMS! Especially in the first week. The moves are so simple and basic but if you push the weights you are sweating like crazy! If you're nervous about it though, you could always lighten up the weights. No need to have trouble getting in and out of the car for two days like I did the first time I did Meso 2 legs!:eek:

Carolyn- I hear you on the computer sucking you in! It's so tough in the morning sometimes to drag myself off the computer and start my workout. No wonder I'm always running short on time and skipping the cool down!:eek: That's so funny about the kettlebell workout...I'm trying not to be too enabling! Burn and Build is so tough, it's a great one to work up your stamina with!! There is this one lady on VF...she is a total rock star and my idol! She's in her mid 50's with 10...count 'em...10 kids! Yet she finds the time to do all these super advanced, hard workouts. She told me she did Burn and Build once a week until it became easy for her. That's what she likes to do, she'll do super tough workouts and do them once a week until they are easy and then move on to other ones. Like I said, she's a rock star!

No workout for me today. I deserved a day off after doing AB on Saturday, KB kickboxing Sunday and then Extreme Calorie Burn yesterday:eek:. I can't decide what to do tomorrow...maybe Athletic Training?

It's a workout by Patrick Goudeau and the only place I saw it was on Collage (it wasn't available on Total Fitness for some reason). It was a really tough and challenging circuit workout. It sort of reminded me of Afterburn but with some impact. It wasn't structured the same way or anything but there was a lot of plank type moves and up and down from the floor. I'm not sure if you'd like it for that reason, though. It was a pretty long workout, a little over an hour and I was dripping with sweat!:eek: I really enjoyed it but I loved AB and I don't mind the up and down. The choregraphy was pretty basic and all it requires are two sets of dumbells (one lighter and one heavier).

The only thing I don't like about PG's workouts (the same is true with his Lean Hot Body which I also enjoy) is that he doesn't chapter his workouts or offer premixes. It makes it tough to do these workouts if you don't have a lot of time. That's one more reason I love Cathe! She's so meticulous about offering premixes and chaptering...it's all in the details! That lady is just such a professional!!:D

We had a great weekend at the Cape! We did lots of walking. Betty, we started renting in Chatham the summer my twins were born (with my brother and mother). My brother liked it so much that he bought a place there and is very generous with it. My 2 sisters even come back from CA to spend vacation there. But I hate the traffic. Luckily it was not too bad this weekend, I think the forecast was bad and people left early.

Trying to get back to my workout schedule. I did TBT upper body last night. My problem was that I was trying to use my heavy weights from STS, but forgot she does 12-16 reps for some of the exercises. I really need to keep worksheets of the weights I do. No workout for me today.

Carolyn, so sorry to hear about your knee. Hope the icing does the trick, and take it easy.

Jean, I was also saddened to read about your relationship with your daughter. I hope at some point you both can work it out, especially where grandchildren are involved. On another note, I am so impressed with you doing STS again. Are you doing the 6 month rotation? When you do that one, when do you take a rest week? I am already thinking about when I will do STS again.

Betty, how does your son like STS?

I do believe that all the daily activities we do add up and count as part of a workout. I mean, if we exercise an hour a day and then just sit all day, that's not good. But especially yard work and baling hay, those count!
