Strength in Numbers

Janie Thank you for the birthday wishes. You did well with your Cardio Supersets Express + Step workout. I can't believe that I slept through all of that commotion either. I must have been pooped.

Eunice Good for Rachel for finishing the race with a sore toe. That would have been hard. Way to go on your Athletic Step Extreme premix. How are your quads today?

Pam So where are you? I think I missed the post when you said where you would be going. Somewhere hot I hope. Sounds like you are having a good time though. Don't worry about missing workouts, you will get back to it soon enough.

Julie I hope it isn't the transmission in your car. That is expensive to fix. HaHa you are funny, it was probably all the fresh air that made me sleep so good too. Do you have travel fit? I find that one is good for doing in a hotel room.

Well I took this morning off and will be back to it tomorrow. I had my class tonight and we went over program design. Now I have to make up a program for my instructor for next week. This time she promised she would be nice and ready to go.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Was a rest day for me. I needed it! Just two more days and I'm done with Low Impact Series. Yeah! Starting Sunday I will begin one month of The Four Day Split. I can't wait!

Eunice, I'm so proud of Rachel too, she is not a quitter. I think I would have quit.:( 8th place is a good place to be, congratulate her for me. Great job on AT. I hope you get some serious DOM's going too.

Pam, Hmmmm, homemade carbonara? That will be very dangerous left unattended. LOL Enjoy. 2 parties . Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I love the thought of an outside party with a band and bar. YaHoo.

Julie, Great job on this mornings AB, even with those sassy DOM's. I hope the car repair will be less expensive than you think. Crossing my fingers for you. I think STS will be good for you. It will be time for that after Gym Styles for heavy weight workouts.

Cheryl, Looks like you are doing well with your classes. So proud of you. Continue on with your successful program. How else could it be?;)

Janie

This morning was Butts & Guts Overall Legs Premix! I really like that premix except that you do the ankle weight work twice! Talk about burning buns! So I found out my transmission needs to be replaced or rebuilt. If they can find a new transmission, it will cost around $1100 to $1500; but, if they can’t find a new transmission and have to rebuild it, $2500 or more.

Cheryl Good luck on your program design. I hope the instructor doesn’t through any more surprises at you. Yep, it’s the transmission and isn’t going to be cheap. But my car doesn’t have that many miles on it and my BIL who is a mechanic told me it would be worth it to do this since I want to try to get a few more years out of the car. I do plan on taking Travel Fit with me. I think I will also be taking Turbo Barre and doing the Lower Body only exercises. Of course, I probably should bring a yoga DVD with me too.

Janie Wow, I can’t believe you are almost done with your 2 weeks of LIS. Time sure does fly when you’re having fun with Cathe. A month of 4 Day Split sounds fun. I love the weight work in that series and the kickbox cardio is really fun too. I am looking forward to going into Meso 3 of STS next month. I love me some low rep, heavy weight work.

Pam Hope you have safe travels home!

Have a good day!

Tonight was LI Slide and Glide. I love this one too. I modified of course through out the workout, but I was impressed how much I kept up with Cathe and Crew. Wow What A Workout! Tomorrow is my last LI for awhile and decided to do the LISCSS Step Express workout I like so much.

Julie, Great job on on B&G Overall Legs Prem. I'm going to have to do that one again some day. I only did it one time. Aw, you thought maybe it was the transmission. I hope they can find a new transmission for you. Better than rebuilding it or purchasing another car. So so sorry.:( I'm looking forward to Kickboxing and having cardio. I miss the STS Meso 3 too. When will you be doing it?

Take care ladies, seems we are all so busy.

Janie

Julie Great job on aB with those screamin DOMS. That is an especially tough one to do with sore legs. I'm glad it helped them though. sorry about the news on your car :( I do hope they are able to find one for you to save some of that money!
I have found KPC to be a good travel workout because other than the ab section, you don't need any equipment. I think any of the MMAs would be good too. CCC doesn't require equipment but I think it would be tough to do in a hotel room. I like your idea of doing your own wine tasting :p

Cheryl I was in Austin. DH had a conference there and since I work with a lot of people in Austin I went with him and went to the Austin office every day for work. It was nice, I love Austin and used to spend a lot of time there.
It sounds like your training is coming right along. I'm glad your instructor is going to be nice to you this time!

Janie Wow, you are moving right through this rotation. Did you enjoy the LI series?

Julie Great job on Butts & Guts Overall Legs Premix! I think doing the ankle weight work twice sounds kind've like torture.......

Janie Great job on S&G!

Yesterday morning I did KPC in the hotel room. I didn't have a stability ball for the ab work, but I just made modifications and did what I could. I didn't feel much like working out but I was glad I did. The night before DH took me along on his customer dinner. It was at this fancy steak house and there was a ton of food, but the food really wasn't very good. We didn't get back from dinner until almost 10:00 and still had to go to the wine tasting after that. That was the last thing I wanted to do, but DH wouldn't let me stay in the room and sleep because he had to go. It was white wines which i don't like, so I just had a sip of each one. KPC got me moving and feeling human again. We got home last night and this morning was BM2, just the step and intervals sections, no upper body. I love that workout though! I also did the P90x abs, thanks Julie! I couldn't do all of the oblique V's or those last twists, so something to work up to. I hope everyone has a great day and long weekend for those of us here in the US!

Pam

This morning I did Kick, Punch, Crunch! I hadn’t done that one in a couple of months so it was nice good to do again. I did all but 1 of the pikes at the end. The last one I couldn’t get my hips up all the way so I don’t count that one.

Janie Great job on S&G! So you didn’t call Cathe any names when she started that 3rd set of mountain climbers? Must just be me then! I’m hoping we here today on whether the guy can find a transmission rather than rebuilding it. Keeping my fingers crossed. I will be doing Meso 3 starting June 25. I am actually starting the week with cardio so it won’t look like I am doing Meso 3 until the next day.

Pam Great job on KPC! Here is was this morning thinking, oh Pam would shutter to see KPC again since it is in almost all Cathe rotations at least once. But it is an easy one to do in the hotel room aside from the ab work at the end. When I have a hard time wanting to work out, I always repeat that saying “I’ve regretted not working out but I’ve never regretted working out”. Seems to help sometimes and after the workout, I tell myself I am so proud of me. Yes, I am somewhat dorky! I’m not a big white wine drinker either. Great job on BM2 step & intervals sections! That is tough on its own. Glad you liked the P90X abs workout. It did look good when I was previewed it.

Have a wonderful day!

Janie I hope you enjoyed your rest day. Slide and Glide is one of my favorites too way to go.

Julie Sorry about your transmission. I remember that happened to one of my cars about 30 years ago and it was really expensive then too. I hope that they can find a new one for you. Good job on the Butts and Guts overall leg premix. I have done that one and the ankle weight work is tough the second time through. Turbo Barre would be a good one to take along too along with a yoga DVD too :D. Good job on KPC and almost all of the pikes. Those are hard that is for sure.

Pam That was nice that you could go to Austin with DH and that you didn't have to take vacation time as you have an office there. Good job on KPC in the hotel room. Too bad the food wasn't good at the steak house and a wine tasting after that . I like red wines more that white too. I was thinking of doing BM2 this morning too but I changed my mind.

I did CTX All Step this morning, just the cardio and abs. The ab work sure felt easy from what she has us doing now. Enjoy your long weekend, we had ours last weekend and it just poured rain both Sunday and Monday. I hope all of you get better weather.

Cheryl

My last LI Series was CSS Express Step. Yea! Now for the next round. One month (starting Sun.) of The Four Split. I can't wait! LOL:D

Pam, I mostly enjoyed the LI series. Of course what I needed to work on the most I didn't want so much of, that would be Leg work, but I must say my legs haven't looked so good. It was worth it. Kept my heart going too. Great job on KPC in the hotel room. Glad you were committed to it too. Aw, what we do for the people we love. You are a sweetheart. Great job on this morning's BM2 step and intervals and the P90x abs. Glad you got home safely.

Julie, Great job on KP&C. You are so good about the Pikes. I haven't tried doing that for a very long time. Wonder, hmmmmm. I couldn't call Cathe any names because I was modifying with those mountain climbers. My O My! However when I felt I could do it I did.

Cheryl, Great job on CTX All Step cardio and abs. I bet they are easy compared to what your body is going through now. Yea! Rain here too.:(

Take care,

Janie

Janie Enjoy your 4DS rotation, good job on finishing the LIS. Enjoy your rest day. CTX does feel easy now, Cathe's newer DVDs are a lot tougher.

It was Athletic Training for me today. My quads burn in that first series. I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend.

Cheryl

Did The 4 Day Split; Step, back and chest. The step workout part was advanced choreography and maybe a month of this and I will be able to do it. Who knows, I did however kept going and did a lot of ablibing. My heart was up and sweated profusely. yea, glad it's done. Loved loved the weight lifting very very heavily. Almost kept up with Cathe until she used 30# dumb bells in each hand for chest presses. I did half of them with 30's and then went down to 20# Whew! Loved it and room to grow. Also wanted to add that flies were 5# down from Cathe's. Like I said, room to grow.

Went to a play today and saw "Old Lady" Very good. Then we ate our dinner while driving to Costco did some shopping and then went to Low's for plants and other things for the beach house. This next coming Sunday will be going over to plant what I got; 3 lilac trees, 3 snowball trees (or are they bushes) and about 4 rhododendrons and a 2 or 3 hydrangeas. It will be really nice at the beach house.

Cheryl, Great job on AT today. Yep quads get a lot of work.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and holiday everyone,

Janie

Hi Ladies! sorry, I'd been gone for a while I'd miss a lot, of course I saw that you all are busy, busy working out doing pretty good! Love it... I don't know what happen to me this past weekend went by to fast I didn't have a chance to come to the forums:eek: Oh well, lets start fresh this week..

Pam I saw that you are back from your vacation yay!! for you and now you are back to work out hard and ski even more hard.

Julie, I hope you got your car fix, I know I don't like those type of expenses. When we get back we are going to need a car or 2 maybe I don't want a new one, we'll see. Good job keeping up with your rotation.

Janie, good job working out hard my lady I think you are doing pretty good even lifting heavy, heavier then me:confused: I need to catch up with you!

Cheryl, how are those classes going? I hope you are doing good too.

I think I'm coming down with something this morning I felt pretty bad, no time to bad times anyways I did chest/shoulders/triceps disc 16 and ab ripperX it was really good my arm still shaking. Sat I did the original IMAX and ay ay ay good one.
Oh boy, Sat and Sun the girls and I were watching "grease" for ever... funny I just found out that I love that movie.
Have a great weekend every one.:D:D:D

Janie Good job on 4DS step, back and chest. Was the step work the higher intensity? If it was that one it took me a while to get the choreography down. Good for you to almost keep up with Cathe, 30 pounds for chest press is tough. The plants that you got will really make your beach house look nice and cosy. There is something about plants that just make the place more inviting.

Eunice I know how it gets when things get so busy you don't know where the time went. My classes are going well. I have another class tomorrow where I need to take my instructor through an hour long class. I hope things go well. You did well to do disc 16 and ab ripperX with not feeling well. I hope you feel better today.

Pam, Julie I hope you guys enjoyed your long weekend.

Yesterday I did Yoga Max instead of going to Lululemon for yoga. We decided that we wanted to go to the flea market and wanted to get an early start. We really didn't find too much but it was nice to get out. Today was Cardio Supersets.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Rest day today and tomorrow. Then a nice step and heavy workout with The 4Day Split.

Eunice, I sure am glad you are back! I missed you! Oh no, I hope you are not coming down with something. Great job on Chest, shoulders, and triceips disc 16 and ab ripperX. I love John Travolta and Olivia Newton John in Grease. Fantastic movie. Love all kinds of musicals.

Cheryl, Yes, the step work was Higher Intensity. Great job on Yoga Max. I haven't been to a flea market for years. Use to go all the time. You bring back memories for me.;) Great job on today's Cardio Supersets. I like that one.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Cheryl I'm glad to hear that your classes are doing good, I hope everything goes well with your instructor I know last time you said that you didn't like whatever she was playing hopefully this time is not the same thing. One hour is a long session!
Good job doing Yoga Max, how did you like it? flea markets can get crowed and going early was a good idea. Also good job doing Cardio Super sets.

JanieEnjoy your two days of rest, just getting ready to hit those heavy weights one more time, sounds good!
Me too, I hope I'm not coming with something I'd being having headaches and the cold weather doesn't help :p it make me lazy! I just want to cuddle on the couch instead of getting sweatty! oh well!
I want to get "Saturday Fever" or Saturday Night" now.

Today I did legs disc 17 heavy, I tried to go heavier my upper body is sore from yesterday so holding those huge dummbells was tough but I did it.
We need to move forward not backwards right? so even 1-2 pounds make the diff.
Have a nice day ladies!!:p:D;)

Julie great job on KPC last week. That is great doing all but one of the pikes. I know I am always hoping we are done when she says 2 more! UGH. Yes, I have done KPC too many times lately but it is handy when you don't have equipment. You are so right, it's always NOT working out that you end up regretting.

Cheryl Great job on All Step. I really love the step part of that workout. It is really short though, so sometimes I repeat the end section just to make it a little longer. That was my first Cathe workout, it came with the first step that I bought. Sorry you had lousy weather for your long weekend, luckily ours was beautiful.

Janie great job on CSS Express step and finishing out the LI series. I hope you enjoy your month of 4DS! So glad to hear that your legs are showing your hard work. The LI series really does work the legs hard!

Cheryl Great job on AT, it is KILLER on the quads!

Janie Great job on 4DS Step, back and chest. The step workouts in that series are not my favorites. Good for you for keeping going and just ad libbing when you couldn't follow! Wow, great job on your heavy chest presses too! You are really doing amazing, I am so proud of you! It sounds like you had a really lovely day with the play, dinner and shopping. That wil be so much fun planting all of those plants at the beach!

Eunice That's ok that you were gone for awhile, a lot of us were over the holiday weekend. I am back home for a little while, I leave again on Thursday to go to Myrtle Beach for the weekend
Great job on Disc 16 and ab ripper x even when you weren't feeling well! oh and Imax too! OMG, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Grease. It is such a fun movie. It may be my all time favorite. My DH makes fun of me because I like it so much. It makes me dance around the house. Great job on disc 17 and going heavy too!!

Cheryl Great job on YM and CSS!

Sorry I was absent all weekend, it was a busy one. Friday night DH and I went to the lake and skiied. There was another couple there that are members of the ski club so it was nice hanging out with them. Then Saturday morning we got up early and went to the lake and Eric and Ashley went with us. It was really fun, they were singing songs in the boat and would pick a different song for every pass. After that DH and I went right from there to our friends beach house on the ocean. We spent Saturday night there, and then left around 3:00 and drove right to the lake to ski again. So I didn't get another workout in on Saturday or Sunday. Monday I got up and did Intensity since I had missed 2 days, then after lunch DH and I went to the lake and skiied again. I was wiped out but we had a lot of fun and skiied really well. Hooray! This morning I decided to take it a little easier and did Step Works. I was going to do a weight workout but figured my upper body could use a rest after all of the skiing. When we were at the lake on Sunday Ashley looked at me and said, "Wow, you are ripped!" I liked that comment :D Have a great day everyone!

Pam

Well it has been awhile since I posted. Saturday I did Gym Styles Back, Shoulders, & Biceps and then DH and I took the dogs down to my parents. We did some shopping and then we stayed the night at their house while I did laundry since our washer is still not fixed . Sunday was my family get together for the holiday weekend. Yesterday I did Gym Style Legs and upped my weight for the squats. Today I did Gym Style Chest & Triceps and upped my weight on the flat bench press and the lying triceps extensions. It sure was hard getting up this morning after sleeping in 3 days in a row.

Cheryl Great job on All Step cardio & abs! I like the All Step workout from CTX. I noticed that Cathe really evolved her ab work over time when I was doing her workouts in chronological order. She started out simpler and then started adding in harder moves. Turbo Barre is one that I am pretty sure I will bring with me to do in the hotel room—at least the non-weighted work anyway. Great job on Athletic Training and burning those quads out! Great job on Yoga Max before the flea market. I’ve never been to a flea market but I’ve heard they can have a lot of neat things there. Great job on Cardio Supersets too. Hope your weather has gotten better.

Janie Great job on finishing out LIS with CSS Express Step. Sometimes I hate working legs too but I really need it. Great job on 4DS Chest & Back! I think that has the hardest choreography in it. I’m sure you will get it with practice especially by the end of the month. Great job on those weights. 30# chest presses are very impressive. Room to grow is a good thing. Oh I bet your beach house is going to look so lovely with all those pretty plants outside.

Eunice Great job on disc 16 and ab ripper x especially with not feeling well. Great job on Imax too! That one is a classic goodie! I love Grease. I’m not big on musicals but that one is so much fun. Nope my car is not fixed yet. The shop hasn’t found a transmission yet. I’m hoping we hear from them today on what is going on. That and my washer. I want that fixed too so I can do laundry at my own house again. Great job on disc 17 and going really heavy! Yep, go forward, don’t go backwards or stand still. Even 1 to 2 pounds can make a huge difference.

Pam You did have a busy weekend. But it sounds like you had a blast. Great job on Intensity after such a busy weekend. I’m glad you took it a little easier on yourself with Step Works. I think if anyone told me I was ripped I would cry tears of joy and tell them I love them and they will always be my favorite person in the whole wide world! Do you think it is the skiing that helps? I’ve never skied but it seems like it would be a great total body workout. Does it have a cardio effect to it?

Have a great day!

Didn't do much today except read (Unbroken) in the hot tub. Love every minute of it.

Eunice, Anything that John Travolta has been in is really good. Just cuddle up on the couch and veg out. That should get rid of your headache. Take a small break your body most likely needs it. Great job on disc 17. Shoot, 1/4#'s makes a difference! Glad to see you improving. Don't you just love it!

Pam, So glad you take the time to ski. You guys enjoy that so much. Sounds like with friends, singing, Beach house. Enjoy life as it comes your way. You'll catch up on exercises, you always do. Great job on this mornings SW. Wow, what a fantastic compliment from Ashley. Now you know all your hard work is working. Yeah! Keep up the good work.

Julie, Great job this weekend on Gym Styles, shoulders and biceps. It's nice to visit parents, have a family get together, shop. For today sounds like you did a great job on Gym Style Chest & Triceps and upped your weight on bench presses and tricep extensions. Good for you!

Take care ladies,

Janie

Pam I know, I saw that you guys got a long weekend and pretty busy with lots of ski. OMG! for sure you know how to have fun!! So, how did you like ab ripperX? I hope you did like it, I do like it!
You know we had have the movie for so long and I'm always in the kitchen when the girls play that movie and they do play it very often so one day I decided to seat and watch the movie with them, well we did watched 2 days in the road so good! DH was seating next to me when one of the last song come on and I told DH to dance like that I love John Travolta's dance:p:p It make me sing all weekend long!
Woow!!! you did ski your head off!!! that was a lot, that make me wonder what it would be something that I would love to do? we don't have a hobby and DH is always asking what it would be a good thing to do? and on tap of that you did Insanity:p I'm glad you took it easy on you today doing Step Works!!! with that comment I would be on the moon! Sooooooo cool!!!! I want to see you now! I need to do what ever you are doing because my body is very stubborn

Julie Good job doing Gym Style back/shoulders/biceps I guess every one had a long busy weekend, I hope your car and washer get fix soon, I know it gets frustrated, but hey! nothing stops you from doing Gym Style legs and upping up your weight even better! Also fro doing Gym Style chest/tricpes, I know is hard to get up easy after sleeping in for ever tell me about it! I always said the I'm going to get up early on Sunday and workout before church but it never happen:eek: my bed is way to warm!
Another grease lover! we are 3 here!

JulieSounds really good and relaxing! reading in the hot tub! I'm going to have to do it, the next chance I get I won't think about it just do it. I love the dance of John Travolta, yo know something really funny is that our next door neighbor Rachel's little friend is always here when they watch the movie and one day my girls told me that she like Dany! so funny!

My legs just now are getting very stiff and sore my butt and quads and hamstring are very sore hard to seat down and hard to get up I look like an old lady holding from everything I can:p:p well, that's what I was looking for, don't I?
Today I did Rhythmic Step, its being a long while since last time I did I felt like if it was a new workout but when Cathe say concentrate" I did it, I pay attention and I did good, Love it I even did the step with 8inches step. Yes I think that's what it is huh? used 4 raisers.
Well, how excited that Cathe did 13 premixes on one of the videos!!! I can't wait to try it!
Have a nice day ladies!

Julie Great job on all of your Gym Styles and upping your weights! So sorry to hear that your washer is still broken. Is someone supposed to be coming out to look at it? It is so tough to be without a washing machine! Oh yes, I had a hard time getting up yesterday too. At least it's a short week.
The skiing definitely helps with my upper body. DH has commented on liking my skiing shoulders in the summer before. You can tell a difference in them during ski season and non-ski season. It's really kind've amazing because you aren't out there that long. There is a cardio effect too, but each pass only takes 20 seconds and we typically do 6 passes per set, and 2 sets per day. So total active time is only like 4 minutes! The pulling up out of the water really works your arms and back too, but it is very quick.

Janie Oh reading in the hot tub sounds heavenly, good for you! Is Unbroken a good book? I will have to look it up. DH is hoping that Ashley might get inspired to start working out too, but so far we haven't been successful there

Eunice I think we had a little TOO much fun last weekend, the scale is showing the results of it  I liked ab ripper X. There were a couple of the exercises that I couldn't finish, but that is something to work toward. My DH really likes Olivia Newton John in that little black outfit at the end of Grease  She looks like she weighs about 75 pounds though! Did you get DH to dance like John Travolta???:p You would need to video tape that!
You would probably love skiing since you are so active. It's really fun when you ski well but can be really frustrating when you don't  Nothing gives me the arms and shoulders like skiing does though!
Uh oh, sounds like you are failing the toilet test. Congrats on those leg DOMS! Great job on RS, that one is just so much fun. I'm glad that you listened to Cathe and concentrated! Great job using the 8 inch step too. I usually only use 6 inches, but whenever Cathe and the crew are using 8 I try to also. I saw that about the 13 pre-mixes on one of the new videos, how exciting! I hope we will be getting them soon!

This morning for me was Power Hour. I was feeling pretty weak this morning, I really struggled through the leg work which is not usually a problem for me, and I could finish all of the presses or triceps  Oh well, I got a good workout in anyway. I hope everyone has a great day!

Pam
