Strength in Numbers

This morning I did Imax 2 and then I did the abs from Cardio & Weights. This may sound conceited but I was very proud of me for adding the abs on. I usually won’t do abs unless they are part of the workout, so I am going to give myself a little pat on the back. I was a little afraid of doing Imax 2 this morning because I woke up with very loud calf DOMS but I made it through and they actually feel a little better now.

Janie Sounds like you had quite a nice rest day soaking those poor, hardworking muscles in the hot tub. I can’t remember do you have a Kindle Fire or a Nook? I have been somewhat looking at the Kindle Fire but I am trying to figure out whether the workout blender works on it and whether you can hook it up to a TV.

Eunice Great job on RS especially with those sore legs. I think my legs are the same way in that the DOMS take a little longer to reach them than a day later. Usually, my leg DOMS show up about a day and a half to 2 days later. Disc 17 always gets me with DOMS. Isn’t it funny how we remember certain discs from STS that have really given us the goods?

Pam Great job on Power Hour! That is one I love except the surprise jump in/out pushups. I’m sorry you were feeling weak this morning. I hope you feel better tomorrow. I’m so glad it is a short week. That definitely helps with the getting up even though my bed is so snuggly warm. They know what is wrong with the washer (the control board) but the part is on backorder. I’m getting a little frustrated with them but I guess I just have to put up with it since it is covered under warranty. Hmm … I wonder if you could pass of the cardio from skiing as Tabata work? Probably not.

Tonight was 4DS-KB. I just loved this workout. It was so intense for me. I think you can make it as intense as you like. And the weight section for the legs was very creative and also intense. I really liked this one. Almost kept up with Cathe only I used less risers than she did.:rolleyes: The day before yesterday I woke up with horrific Charlie horse in my right calf. Oy! It hurt today so I used the roller on it. It helped.

Eunice, How cute that Rachel's friend called Travolta by the name of Danny. The way Olivia pronounces it, is very endearing. Adorable. If you are sore like that then you must of had a great workout. Good for you! Great job on today's RS with 8" of step. Wow! That's amazing.

Pam, Yes it is a good book and the reviews were high. It's called "Unbroken A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" by Laura Hillenbrand. Great job on this morning's PH. You are still feeling sick? You poor thing. Hope you feel better soon. I'm hopeful Ashley will start working out. It can only do good things.:)

Julie, Great job on this morning's Imax 2 and abs from C&W. Congrats for doing those abs, I also do that as well, (not do them unless they are in the workout). Hmmm makes me think I should do it as well. You inspiring woman you.;) I've never had calf DOM's before. Get that roller out. I have a Kindle, but I refused to purchase this one on it because I paid only 10 cents for it with a H&S charge of $2.99. The Kindle was asking for almost $10.00 if I remember right. I don't have the Fire.

This morning was Lower Body Blast and apparently my buns had a blast because my cheeks were on FI-YAH!!! This is the one Ozzie helped me from cheating last time and I am proud to say I did not cheat this time and didn’t need his help either! Of course, my poor booty was crying by the time I was finished with the workout but it’s all good!

Janie Great job on 4DS KB! I love that workout. Both the cardio and the weight work is so much fun. I really like the low plane lunges because I sure can feel the burn. I use less risers than Cathe too on Leg Presses. I just cannot do leg presses with 5 risers so I only use 4. I use the excuse that I am 2 inches shorter than Cathe and therefore my step height needs to be 2 inches less than hers. So sorry about the Charlie horse in your calf. I get the most horrific DOMS in my calves that 3-4 days. I still have mine from Monday’s GSL. Hmm! I always thought Kindle prices were lower than the actual real book. That is interesting and something to remember if I ever get a Kindle.

Julie Great job on Imax 2 and C&W abs. I think that is my favorite ab routine. There is nothing conceited about being proud of yourself at all! You SHOULD be proud of yourself, especially after such a hard workout. It's hard to get motivated to put another disc in, I sometimes feel like I am starting from scratch when I do that. I'm glad to hear that Imax2 helped with your screamin DOMs too! I'm proud of you too, I know you aren't a big fan of ab work either!!
OMG, yes, the surprise jump in/out pushups killed me! WTH is up with that?! I sure hope that part comes for your washer soon, that is a tough thing to be without. Having both your car and your washer out of commission at the same time is terrible :mad: Yea, I don't think I can count the cardio in skiing as Tabata. I usually don't count skiing as a workout, just a bonus. I do use it as an excuse to skip weights sometimes though :rolleyes:

Janie Great job on 4DS-KB. That is my favorite KB workout. I don't usually like KB much, but I really like that one. Ouch on that charlie horse, it makes my calf hurt just thinking about it! I'm glad that the roller helped.
OK, I will put that book on my list. I'm hearing everyone is raving about a book called Fifty Shades of Grey, although it sounds like you need a cold shower rather than a hot tub while reading it! I'm feeling much better today, thanks for asking!

I'm late checking in today, sometimes I forget that I haven't done it! I'm between rotations and not going to start another one until after we get back from the Outer Banks in a couple of weeks, so just doing whatever I feel like right now. This morning it was Tracy Staehle High Intensity step mix. It's a really fun workout. After that I did the abs from KPC. That really is a great ab routine, not too long but it really gets you good! Now I'm waiting for my friend Sue to arrive and we are driving to Myrtle Beach together. Our DHs are already there and have already played 2 rounds of golf. Not sure if I'll get a chance to check in this weekend and hopefully I won't be a total slug! Have a great weekend everyone if I don't visit before Monday!

Pam Oh, boy!! I think you are on your way to get some more fun! even when you daid that last weekend was a little to much fun, I guess there is never to much! I'm glad to hear that you did liked ab ripperX.. I think Olivia Newton Jonh was so pretty well, she still is a pretty lady! 75 pounds wow! almost what Rachel weights very small. NO DH didn't wanted to dance for me:eek: that is ashame:eek: he didn't wanted to shake that bootty!

How are those calfs DOMS doing? also for doing Lower Body Blast! as I can see you are surviving all of the leg workouts my friend, awesome! I love when my muscles are crying of happiness too.

JanieGreat job doing 4DS KB one of my favorite kick box routines I love that one too. The leg workout its a good one and tough one too, I'm glad you did good keeping up with Cathe, wow!! you are doing awesome. Well, I don't know what is the charlie horse thingy:eek: but it sounds painfull I hope you are doing better now.


Yesterday I did disc 18 back/biceps my biceps are sore, I must being doing something right because its being a while since I got sore biceps I love the back up weight training that we did this week in meso 2 week 2.
Today I have cardio to be honest I don't know yet what I'm doing I just know that I will do something last night I didn't have a good night sleep I'm not sure if I didn't sleep or I was dreaming all night that I was awake:mad: that makes me grumpy.

During the barbeque, my son in law was coughing up a storm. He said he felt like he wasn't contagious. I've been fighting a really bad sore throat all day. Hopefully it's nothing. I haven't lost any weight for 2 weeks! Maybe this is it, and from here on out, perhaps gaining muscle? I don't know. I feel like I want to lose another 10 pounds though. Hmmmm

Julie, Great job on LBB. Love it when a workout gets your cheeks on FI-YAH! LOL Good for you! Don't you just love it when the workout is so fun like that? I was so tired this morning and slept in about 20 minutes. Ozzie kept me and DH up last night being restless. He would go from lying in the bed to running upstairs and lying down and then coming back down in bed. It drove me nuts!! Good thing I love him. I did end up getting up and doing MMA Fusion which is my favorite of the MMAs—love me some turtle spins. I think I tweaked my back on the ground and pound planks at the very end. I am going to have to watch how I move today because it is really touchy now. After I did it, I thought maybe I should have just stayed in bed.

Pam Great job on Tracy’s High Intensity step mix and KPC abs! I like the abs from KPC too. I like the pike section because it is good to do but shorter than the pike section in PUB which seems to be never ending! Yeah, I am not happy about not having my car or washer. Supposedly the washer part was going to be in this week but it looks like next week now. My car may be done by the end of next week too but I am not getting my hopes anymore. Enjoy your time at the beach. I highly doubt you will be a total slug but if you do, you work hard so go ahead and enjoy every minute of it!

Eunice Great job on disc 18! I’m sorry you had a bad night’s sleep too! I hate when I have a restless night’s sleep or just don’t feel like it was good quality. It makes me grumpy too. I am surprised I am surviving the 2 leg workouts a week. I am really liking it too. I will probably keep it up for a while and see what happens.

Janie Oh I hope you are not coming down with something. Sore throats are a pain. I hope you have plenty of hot tea you can make to help soothe your throat. Plateaus are no fun when you are trying to lose weight but I think you are good to focus on just eating healthy and building those muscles right now. I have a feeling those last 10 pounds will take care of themselves it just might take a little patience.

Did 4DS-LIS with shoulder, calf and ab work. I liked the step just need to do it better next time. Sweat fest it was. I lost a pound out of no where. It's crazy, but I now weight 134.

Julie, Wonder why Ozzie was so restless. I guess dogs get insomnia too? Great job on MMA Fusion and the turtle spins. LOL:D Do be careful as you say with your back. You did good not staying in bed. Still a sore throat and so far no coughing, hope I didn't jinx it. I think that camomile tea is in order. Thanks for the suggestion. Hmmmmmm yummy. You are right, the last 10 goal pounds are hard and I'll be patient about it. Besides it's a lifetime and nothing will change after I get there anyway except hopefully gain lots of muscles.

I though I had a free day and since I had lots of energy wanted to do 30/30. After I did that, I wanted to record it on FB, but what I saw and was really suppose to do was BC. Since I already had a sweat fest I decided to do the weight lifting for biceps and triceps. Oh well, I still think I had a terrific workout, just not planned. LOL:D I have HIS and besides the step workout will do it's back and chest. Then Joey and I will go to the Beach House to do some work. Should be back home on Wednesday. I'll try to post over there, but the last time I tried it didn't work out.

Friday I ended up doing Cardio Fusion I like this one last time it was a tough one, but this time I did it with a little NO trouble.. I even did ALL of the burpees jumping up/down the step all of them :roll eyes: that even my knee the one with the surgery was giving me like "poky spines" kind of thing that it even hurt at the touch, then Saturday and Sunday was off..
Not being careful with what I eat:eek: then I am complaining that I haven't loose any weight, oh well, those cinnamon buns were good I only had a small one:eek:
Also we are trying to attract birds on the back yard, we bought bird food, the picture of the cockatoos on FB was in the back yard of the house, it was pretty funny they were trying to fly away with the whole thing of food.

I'm at the beach house right now and finished painting the ceiling in the living room. Joey can now lay in the Pergo flooring starting tomorrow morning while I'm in bed. He He:D. Today I did a little chest no back and walked the beach with Rolly. Tomorrow I will catch up on the chest and back. Oh! I weigh 133 pounds. But just by the skin of my teeth.:rolleyes:

Eunice, I feel so much better. Sore throat is all over I think. Don't know how that happen, but I'm grateful. I'm 5' 5" with a small frame. I am in a size 8 a little baggy. I can get into a 6 but have a muffin top, hope when at 125 the 6's will look good. I secretly want to way 120, but if that should ever happen, that is just a bonus. Not counting on it though. I do want to weigh 125 for sure. Only 7 pounds for that goal. Wish me luck. Then I'm making sure that I gain muscle. Even if I have to gain pounds at least I know it will be muscle. Don't really have a choice because of my GERD and have to stay on the Paleo Diet for life. It seems I'll be a smaller person no matter what. I always love hearing from you, because you bring joy to my world. Thank you so much for that.

Great job on Friday's Cardio Fusion. If it's getting easier, then you know what that means. You are getting fitter. Congratulations on that. Burpees are so hard for me, you did so well! OOOO, I do so love cinnamon buns, but my tummy can't handle them.:( A small one is better than a big one. I've only saw cockatoos in pet stores or when someone had one as a pet, but never wild in the back yard. It must be awesome to see them right out side your door. Would the movie be Grease by any chance? LOL:D Enjoy.

Yes, "grease"I think it wasn't that hard to guess. I love those birds Stacy wants to take one with us back home, mmmmm I think that's going to be hard!

Today I did disc 7 chest/shoulders/biceps it was good I don't know if I was weak or spent pushups were from the middle on so after burning my shoulders with drop sets then biceps then pushups were pretty hard:confused: I tried to do my best but when I kissed the floor I knew that I had to go to my knees:p but other than that it was good, I liked it.
I forgot that I was going to do abs:p I'll do it tomorrow.

Saturday I did GS Back, Shoulders, and Biceps and then had to take all my laundry down to my mom’s to do. While we were down there, I gave the dogs a bath and then ran some errands. Sunday I did Gym Style Legs because it takes me too long to do before work. After that, I had a nice lazy day and let my legs relax. This morning I took as my rest day. I have to get better at posting on the weekends!

Janie Great job on 4DS LIS w/ shoulder, calves, and abs. I think the LIS is a bit less complex than the HIS. Great job on that 1 pound loss. Slowly but steady wins the race. Great job on 30/30 with the weight work from 4DS BC. That was probably a better workout cardio-wise than doing 4DS BC as is. So by splitting up the chest and back work a little, do you feel you could lift even heavier?

Eunice Great job on Cardio Fusion! That is a long tough workout but it is so much fun too! I haven’t been being careful with what I eat either. Well I am careful Monday through Friday but then the weekend comes and I tend to graze all day. I try to keep it healthy with mainly nuts and fruits but not so good food sneaks in there too. Well I hope the cockatoos let other birds come in and eat too. Great job on disc 7. That is the disc with the most pushups and it is so hard. I think that may be the only disc in STS that I somewhat dread. Good for you for doing as many of those pushups on your toes.

Eunice You're right, there is never too much fun, but I was very careful not to overdo the eating this weekend like last weekend. Only salads for lunch every day, my normal breaksfast adn reasonable dinners.
Great job on disc 18 and so nice that your biceps are feeling it! Oh man, dreaming that you are awake and then feeling bad when you wake up is no fun at all, I hope things got better after that!

Janie Oh no, sorry to hear about that sore throat, I hope it didn't turn into anything more! sorry to hear that the weight loss has slowed down, but unfortunately that is the way it goes. The more you lose, the harder it gets :confused: Hang in there though because you are doing amazing!

Julie Good for you for getting a little more sleep when you really needed it. I wonder what was going on with Ozzie and his restlessness? i guess they are just like us and get that way sometimes. Great job doing MMA Fusion anyway and enjoying those turtle spins. Sorry to hear you tweaked your back though, I hope it is feeling better now! I'm thinking good thoughts for you to have both your car and your washing machine back this week!

Eunice Great job on cardio fusion on Friday. I *almost* did that one on Thursday, I even had it in my hand, but decided to go with Tracy instead since I had just done Drill max. How exciting that it was so easy for you, that is one tough workout and you rocked it! The poky spines thing doesn't sound good though, I think it's probably good that you were off Saturday and Sunday. Oh boy, I love cinnamon rolls too. I haven't had one in ages though. I used to love to go to the mall and get one of those huge cinnabons :rolleyes:
I saw your picture of that cockatoos on FB, how cool to have those right in your backyard! Did you watch the movie again with the girls????

Cheryl Hope everything is going well with you and that you weren't able to post over the weekend because you were out enjoying some beautiful weather!

We had a really nice time at the beach and despite being mostly a slug, I did get some light exercise in. I went for a 4 mile fast walk each morning before lounging around for most of the rest of the day :confused::rolleyes: Friday night we went out for dinner at this restaurant that had a raccoon bridge set up just outside the window. They put food up on the top platform and it was fun watching the raccoons come and walk across the bridge and up to the platform to eat it. Saturday night we had a cookout with some of the guys that were there for the golf tournament. Two of the guys wanted to compare guns with me :rolleyes: so we all flexed and they both decided that I was the winner! Their arms are bigger of course, their muscles were just a little more ummmm.....buried. The weather was just perfect all weekend, but it's good to be back for a few days! Have a great day!
I had to come back and update my post because I forgot to include this mornings workout! It was The Gauntlet on the Terminator disc. Love this one, even though she throws in that Imax 2 round with the Jeannie hops!

Got all 15 plants into the ground and also brought a couple more plants from home that I dug up in hopes they will grow here. Took me hours to do this and now I'm too spent to do my chest and back. I'll have to do it when I get home and double on the exercises. My hands are immobile, they are so sore. LOL But it's done! Yea! Tomorrow a rest day.

Eunice, Alright, I'll give Joey something special. I'm thinking a great crock pot dinner with turkey, chunks of butter not squash, onions, a little ginger, carrots and garlic. Will add in our bowls some Greek yogurt and tahini with just a touch of almond butter. Hmm Yummy, my own concoction and a tweaked Paleo. Great job on disc 7 chest, shoulders and biceps. You used those muscles a lot the day so I'm thinking that's why you had a harder time of it. I would imagine it was hard!

Julie, I do feel like I can lift heavier. At least I'm very close to what Cathe is doing in these series. Some of course I see stars and have to get lower weight, but most of them are spot on. Also sometimes I can't do as many reps. Anyhoo, still growing into it. Love it! Great job on Sat. GS Back, shoulders and biceps and laundry max and other errands. Very busy lady. Also great job on Sunday's Gym Style legs. Enjoy today's rest day.

Pam, Thank you so much for cheering me on. It really makes me feel good. It's been threatening to rain all day and afraid to go to the beach for fear I might get got in it. So I'll be using my gaming computer and play games the rest of the day. Well, after I take a hot bath. LOL In the mean time Joey is doing Pergo flooring. A one man job or I would help. Great job on the 4 mile fast walk on the beach. What a cool and fun way to spend at dinner watching racoons get to their food. Your guns were the winner? Way to go! Very proud of you! JulieDon't worry for no posting during the weekend, because I usually just post or Saturday or Sunday not both.
Good job doing Gym Style back/shoulders/biceps sounds like you had a lot done doing laundry, giving the dogs a bath, then doing errands.
Also you did legs:confused:good job!!! I'm glad you took the rest of the day to be lazy and this morning for rest day! We are the same during the week I'm good or at least I tried, but the weekend I give my self a permiso to have something else, like a glass of red wine (we had some this past weekend) or a piece of chocolate. I like the cockatoos I don't mind them having all of the food.:p

Pam good to know that you did not overdo the eating, that must had being hard sense you are out. We are always doing something similar of course this time it was "almost" maybe next time. The poky spines things are just for a little bit not for to long, till next time.:p I remember having some of the cinnabons too:eek: and with extra frosting:eek: NOT anymore the ones we have are home made and I make sure NOT to use a lot of butter.

How fun comparing guns with the guys I vote for yours!! So good you are back, and back to workout too The Gauntlet or the terminator dvd, that's one that I don't have.

Today I did disc 9, weird, from all the time I did the LIS 3 and a half month rotation I never did this one, I knew it because of the bonus work at the end it was the plates, bridges, slide in, out, side, ay ay ay! I hope I get to feel this one, I also add the ab no equipment since I forgot to do them yesterday. I also woke up with the nice surprise of my shoulders/biceps were nice and sore, excited because those little ones are hard to hit. DH is at the field all this week poor guys its freezing, today was soooooooo cold.

Janie Wow, you worked hard getting all of those plants planted, I think that was plenty workout for your chest and back!! I hope your hands are doing better today and you are enjoying your rest day!
Oh boy a hot bath and games on the computer sounds nice, I hope that you enjoyed that and watching Joey do the floor! How is the flooring looking?! I can't wait to see pictures. You shouldn't be afraid of the Gauntlet, I don't think it is as hard as some of the HCE workouts or even some of the STS workouts. It is a combination of some of Imax 2, Cardio and Weights and the original Bootcamp. It's fun! In fact there were a few times that I was saying come on Cathe because she was explaining things I wanted to get going with the exercise! I definitely think you could do it.

Eunice I'm glad you aren't having the pokey spines things anymore, those do not sound good at all! Ooooh, extra frosting on the cinnabons, yummmm. Now I am getting hungry! :p You're right, I don't know if Cheryl would like watching the raccoons, but they are fun to watch from inside when they are just out in nature. Great job on disc 9 and no equipment abs! I'm glad to hear that your shoulders and biceps are feeling your workout too! Oh, no fun being out in the field in the cold. You'll have to make him a nice comfort meal when he gets back, huh?

This morning I did GS Back, shoulders and biceps and then the abs from Step, Jump and Pump. The exercises felt tough but I got through them all so hopefully I will feel it tomorrow. Only 2 more days and then vacation again. I hope I can survive ;) Have a great day everyone!

This morning was Gym Style Chest & Triceps. After all those pushups, I don't have anything to say! :eek:

Pam You are such a good girl getting a 4 mile walk in every morning on your vacation! Aw, that raccoon bridge sounds so cute. I’m a sucker for animals though and love watching them. I love the fact that you beat out the guys in the gun show. Great job on the Gauntlet with all those Jeannie hops. I’m sure you would remember Gym Style Legs if you had done it. The slow motion lunges at the end of the standing leg work is torture. There are only 4 reps per side and Cathe uses 5 pound dumbbells if that tells you anything. So far, I am supposed to have my washer fixed tomorrow and my car fixed by Saturday. Still not getting my hopes up until it actually happens though. Great job on GS BSB plus abs from SJP! There you go showing me up and adding those abs again! Just kidding! Here’s hoping for DOMS before you leave for vacation again!

Janie Well, I say you got quite the workout doing all that planting and landscaping. I bet it is all going to look so beautiful. I can’t wait to see pictures. I wish I had a green thumb like you. I don’t blame you one bit on postponing your chest and back work. Those muscles take a lot of energy to work heavy and you sure need to be at full capacity. I forget, what’s after this month of 4DS?

Eunice Great job on disc 9! I love the bonus work at the end of Meso 1 legs but I always think it is odd the guys didn’t stick around for that. Love those shoulders and biceps DOMS! Right now I think triceps are my hardest muscle to get DOMS in. I keep hoping for them after GS Chest & Triceps but never get them. Yeah, I give myself permission to indulge on the weekends but unfortunately, this last Sunday I think I indulged a little too much. I’m working on getting better at though. Every day is a new day to be better. I just noticed your signature has a countdown to coming home. That is so cool!

Today I cleanemaxed the beach house while trying to not be in joey's way for putting in Pergo. (of course I did, but o well) That's when Rolly and I decided to take a walk at the beach in this gorgeous weather for about an hour and a half. When we got back Joey got the living room done and wow does it look fantastic to me. The tip out is the blue that's in the hallway and the attached to it, is the living room where it is a driftwood effect pergo. (that's what he was doing all day) So it looks like ocean water then sand and driftwood. I'll take photos of it, and show it to you when we get home tomorrow. Did laundry swept all the rooms, cleaned the bathroom. Oooo it smells lovely. Dishes and made dinner. Hey, it's just like a home. LOL:rolleyes:

Eunice, Great job on disc 9. Sounds like you did it hard. Good for you. Also good job on the abs. Your poor honey being so cold. Breaks my heart.

Pam, You convinced me (when I have some extra time and energy) to do the Gauntlet. I do like the workouts that you described, so now I Can't Wait! LOL Great job on GS Back, shoulders and biceps and abs from SJ&P. Will you be going anywhere on your vacation?

Ok, I will make something warm for DH when he gets back, I am not sure what though, any ideas? Great job doing GS back/shoulders/biceps and abs from J&P.. Oh boy! I think you have a marathon with those vacations!!! Good for you.


JulieGood job doing GS chest/triceps pushups, pushups, and more pushups I think we all secretly love them...hehehehe:p that would had being so funny to see those big guys doing the bonus leg workout, they to big and strong but I use heavier dumbbells than they do.:confused: I hope you get some tris DOMS... Yes, I thought it would be fun to have a count down we have one at home with the girls, they cannot wait.:D

Janie Whew! you got me into clean mode, just reading your post it made me go and do some cleaning too, NOT fun but I do like to have a clean place.. Your house beach sound like its getting a good make over!!! I can't wait to see your pictures! You and Mr Joey need to take it easy now!

Today I woke up with a good set of DOMS, my butt, quads, hamstring, and something else my back is kind of sore, little bit of pain, I hope its just the leg workout from yesterday and no something else. Today I did HiiT Pyramid.... I was dying according to Brandy she said that I was pretty loud! OMG, I was thinking should I give my all or just so so then do something else, then I thought I better give my all, then I can go do some cleaning.:p Rachel and Stacy don't have school tomorrow, teacher strike.. Stacy was sick today.. and Brandy is not going to school anymore, she is going to do some american school for her to be able to graduate on time... and she is doing Insanity again.
