Strength in Numbers

Woke up with 3" of snow on the ground and continued snowing, but it's raining now. Weird for March.:rolleyes: Today I did disc 25 chest and back. Love it! I was able to do 50# bench presses and from 17-20#'s in ea. hand for flys depending on the incline. Same with dead lifts and arm rows. Yea! I may have to ask hubby to spot me when I lift even heavier down the road. Joey got Jury Duty stuff for 3 weeks starting in the middle of April. Poor guy. It's district court this time that's why it's longer than two weeks. I'll be leaving to paint at the BH on Sun. (after my workout) and will come back home on Wed. afternoon.

Eunice, Don't you just love the DOM's from exercises? Good for you. Great job on LIS AT. We are having strange weather too. I love to watch a good old fashion Thunder and Lightening Storm. They really are impressive. Love the two planets at this time of year just shinning away so bright. You don't get to see that all the time.

Pam, 82 degree weather! I'm so envious!;) That's what we get sometimes in Summer here. You are lucky. I too (if I had a convertable, drive it).:) Great job on SB. That is a fun workout. When you see the floor, things go really quick after that. I'm glad things are going along just fine for you.

Julie, After being so drained form all-day classes and meetings you did really well on the 10*10*10. I just love that one. As much as I love the Wedding video. I keep forgetting about it. I didn't see this movie before and really wanted to. O well. Next time. I wasn't really tired, at least it didn't feel that way, I just fell asleep.:confused: Hmmmmm. 70 degree weather is so perfect. I envy you and Pam having such nice weather. Our time will come though. LOL;)

Julie Those all day meetings wear me out too. I don't know what it is about sitting in one place for so long that is so exhausting, but it really is1 Glad you have that over with! Great job on doing 10*10*10 even though you were beat! It's nice to have some of those shorter ones for those kind of days! We are putting hardwood in the basement. I wanted hardwood from the start and my DH said absolutely not, it's going to be carpet. I gave in, we picked out carpeting, and then we were talking to one of his friends about it and he was saying 'you're putting hardwood in right?' He kept going on and on about how nice hardwood would look so then my DH started to consider it. His main concern was that it would be a lot more expensive AND that I would want to put expensive rugs on it. Once he found out the price was very close he decided he liked the idea of hardwood, but he made me promise not to go crazy with rugs :rolleyes: We are going to Vegas for a wedding! The wedding is on St Paddy's day and it sounds like it is going to be a very interesting and very Vegas wedding. I don't watch Pawn Stars, but apparently Chumley from that show is going to be there....not sure how they worked that out. I have no idea what to wear to this crazy event though!

Janie Oh boy, 3 inches of snow doesn't sound nice at all, I'm glad that it didn't last and it changed to rain. March can truly bring some wacky weather though. Great job on disc 25, wow, you are really going heavy with your weights too!!! Awesome job! You are kicking butt girlfriend! I'm so proud of you!! Oh man, poor Joey with the jury duty. You guys are certainly doing more than your fair share there! I hope you have fun at the beach house.

This morning I did the step and the power circuits from the original Body Max. This just might be my all time favorite Cathe step workout. OK, maybe it's intensity or rhythmic step or step blast or Imax, or or or or.... :D;) it's definitely up there on my list anyway. I'm not sure what time our flight is tomorrow so don't know if I'll get to workout or post. if not, have a great weekend everyone!

Last night I did CTX Step & Intervals. It included chest work which I didn’t think was that bad but I woke up this morning with some surprise DOMS in my chest. Yea!

Janie Great job on disc 25! Yes, please do have Joey spot you next time. I have DH spot me during mesos 2 & 3 just in case. If he is not there, I don’t feel I can go as heavy because I don’t want to get hurt. He has saved me some times when I just can’t get that last rep out. Hopefully the snow doesn’t stick around. I’m guessing with the rain it won’t but still the rest of the country seems to be having pretty good weather and it stinks that Washington has gotten hit with snow again.

Pam Great job on BodyMax cardio and power circuits! You sound like me. Almost every Cathe workout is my “favorite” until the next one I do. Hardwood is so nice. We have carpet in our living room right now but we are planning to replace it with hardwood sometime. It just looks so much nicer and is so much easier to clean in my opinion. Doesn’t that make you mad though when we try to convince DH of something and they won’t have any of it until a friend of theirs convinces them it is the way to go! My DH is like that and it drives me nuts. Although, I have begun to learn to try to make my idea sound like his brilliant idea first. Sometimes it works! I don’t watch Pawn Stars all the time but do occasionally. Chumley is hilarious. He seems like this big lovable teddy bear. Have fun at the wedding!! Hope you find something crazy, and Vegasy to wear!

I am still here!!!! I have been tired and out of sorts all week because of the time change :mad:. I was finally able to do a workout this morning. It was MMA Kickbox, an easy one. I have also been studying to make sure I am ready for my next PT session tomorrow. I will also let you know what the TRX training is like on Sunday. It is for two hours so I should learn a thing or two. All of you have been doing really well with your workouts. I hope that I will am now able to get back to it. I really don't get this time change thing :confused: and why it hits me so hard. Looking through the open discussion at least I know I am not alone in not dealing with it well. I hope to get back to normal with my posting.

Today was 30/30. My goodness! Made it through with little modifications.

We were watching the last DVD of "The Tudors". (movie series) Oh my what a journey that was. Henry the VIII was horrific, but we just wanted more. We wanted to see his daughter Mary be queen (Bloody Mary) and his other daughter Elizabeth (Virgin queen) as well. I here they are stories in themselves. I saw a movie about the Virgin Queen and loved it.

Pam, Great job on steps and PC from Body Max. I know, I love all of Cathe's Steps.;) Have a good flight. Be safe.

Julie, Great job on CTX Step and Intervals. Congrats on your chest DOM's. I had very little today. Hmmmm. I expected so much more. I'll be sure to have Joey Spot me, I want to be safe too.;)

Cheryl, Great job on MMA Kick box. Ooo can't wait to hear about the TRX training. Time change: It's hard on a lot of people and I would think animals as well. It will get better. I do miss you posting. I look forward to all the posts. Makes me stay in check.

Pam Don't you worry I bet there would be another time for lamb:D yum,yum,yum!! I thinks so too, Cathe has his favorite workouts that's for sure. We had being having some kind of weather this week, raining with storms and thunderstorms too, and in the morning I noticed that is getting darker now, that must mean that we are closer to winter...:D Good job doing all those fun workouts that Cathe doesn't get to use as much, love Step Blast too.
I think your basement its going to be very nice with the wood floor to funny that your hubby make you promise not to go to crazy with the rugs, could you??:p:p Also good job doingthe step and the power circuits from the original Body Max. Have fun at Vegas!!!!

JulieGood job doing CTX 10*10*10* even when you didn't feel like doing it but I bet you felt so much better after you did it. It did deff helped with my poor legs. You are very brave for doing those low pulse lunges with 20's I think I just need new shoes because I don't think this ones are helping at all, no, we don't have puzzle mats we have hard ugly floor,:eek: Good job also doing CTX Step & Intervals included the chest, which is giving you a nice surprise.

JanieHow pretty all that snow, I'm sure after all the rain was very dirty and not pretty anymore:p Wow!!!! You are doing pretty awesome with all those heavy weight so good for you, you are going to need a spotter that's for sure if you want to lift even more heavy... I told DH that I want a personal trainer too.
Poor Mr. Joey now is his turn to do that sad job, hopefully not to stressful for him, but now you have to go work at the beach house by your self.

Hi Cheryl So bad that you had being feeling bad with that time change hopefully you get back to your normal routine soon, stinks that's for sure. Good for you for doing MMA Kickbox a good easy to get back to business, I'm glad you being doing good with your home work you are going to get good grades. JanieWow! you are doing so good with your workouts now you can get through 30/30 that's great. Oh boy I did watch that series once when DH was overseas I think I saw season 1 to 3 something like that, I only saw till they kill one of his wife's and he get another girl. I would love to see more too.

Yesterday I got so busy and tired that I couldn't get to post but I did disc 24 back/biceps and OMG my back and biceps got a good workout I got up this morning with a good nice sore upper body:D Today I did After Burn I didn't wanted to do Step Challenge again so I swap my workout, tomorrow looks like we are going to Melbourne to the Fitness Expo and DH wants to go early I'm not sure I will have time to workout at least I get up pretty early and I don't know if I'm going to be up to it, maybe I will or maybe I'm not, we'll see.
Anyways have a great weekend today its Friday Night already. OMG time goes by so fast.

Last night I did CTX All Step with shoulder work. The shoulder work goes by so fast. I felt it while I was doing it but no DOMS today. Although, I very rarely get shoulder DOMS. So today, I went to toast something at work and didn't pay attention to the setting on the toaster. I started thinking, WOW, this is taking forever and then looked and my bagel was burnt. :mad:

Cheryl Great job on MMA Kickbox! I love those MMA workouts for times when I don’t have a lot of energy because they don’t seem as demanding as most Cathe workouts. I hope you can get back to it this weekend. The time change is something archaic and definitely something we can do away with. I’m excited to hear more about the TRX.

Janie Great job on 30/30! Hey modifications are great because you still get your workout in your way. That’s why I love Cathe, she always reminds us to make the workout work for us and our bodies and how we feel that day. Don’t be too bummed about the DOMS. Not having them does not mean you didn’t work. I’ve never watched the Tudors but have heard of it and believe it has gotten good reviews.

Eunice Great job on disc 24 and Afterburn! So you don’t have anything to jump on to cushion your impact? I don’t think I could do that. My knees would definitely be screaming at me. Have you thought about getting puzzle mats to work out on? It might help your news since you do a lot of higher impact workouts. Hope you enjoy the fitness expo. I have never been to one of those but maybe they will have some free goodies to bring home.

Last night I did CTX Kickbox! Can you say 64 power scissors?! What was Cathe thinking?! This morning I did CTX Leaner Legs. I love that one because it is full of my favorite move ever, DEADLIFTS!!!! :eek: I think there are 4 or 5 sets of deadlifts spaced out throughout the workout. Anyway, now it is on to cleaning and running errands.

Janie Great job on disc 26! Love those plyo legs workouts. They are like a leg workout and HiiT all into one. I'll be joining you on the DOMS tomorrow I am sure. I really heavied up today and I am already feeling it. I had some egg whites that I ate and then I sunk low and ate a few chocolate coins someone at work passed out for St. Patrick's Day. Oh well, small slip ups will happen I guess.

I guess someone who likes their toast burnt changed the setting :confused:. The MMA workouts are good for days that you don't have a lot of energy. I spoke to my brother today and he had trouble with the time change too, the first time that has happened to him. I agree that it is archaic and we should do away with it.

Well it was Power Max for me this morning. I wanted to do something that I hadn't done in a while. I am going to try to do my own rotations and see how that goes. I will fill you all in on the TRX training that I am doing tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it.

Will be leaving tomorrow right after I exercise. See ya all on Wed. I'm bringing a lot of my clothes over and bedding, curtains for my room... can't wait! Will be painting most of the time. Julie, Great job on last nights CTX KickBox. There is a lot of power scissors! Good for you for doing that many. Also great job on this mornings CTX Leaner Legs. I'm scared of dead lifts, so I do them very very carefully. I got hurt doing them once, and it took a long time to heal. I do like what they do for you. I most likely did them wrong at the time. Don't you just love using the heavy weight? I'll be doing that tomorrow morning. Shoulders, biceps and triceps, yahoo. Hey, enjoy the little morsels of forbidden food every now and then.:D

Cheryl, Great job on PM, I love that one. Need to get it out one day soon. Enjoy the TRX training. Cant' wait to hear about it.

So starting this week, I’m beginning to work out in the mornings again. DH decided that he is ok with working out by himself at night since he is walking on the treadmill and when he does start lifting weights, he will want me there to spot him and check his form. Yea!!!! I’m so happy. So this morning I did Slow & Heavy Chest & Back. I lifted really heavy and I am sure I will be having DOMS later!

Cheryl Great job on Power Max! Love that one—such a good, classic step routine that is always fun! Yeah, I don’t know what was up with the toaster setting but I’ve learned my lesson and will always be double checking it from here on out. Somebody must have had some very hearty bread in there before me.

Janie I do love lifting heavy. In fact during today’s S&H work, I realized that when I am done with my “Cathe through the Ages” rotation that I am going to focus on heavy lifting for my next rotation. I do love deadlifts and have only tweaked my back once during 1-legged deadlifts. That is definitely one exercise that form is absolutely critical. Enjoy your time at the beach house! Hope you get everything done you want and more!

Well its being a while since I posted sorry:eek: but I wasn't doing good, Saturday we went to the expo it was fun and we got lots of samples it wasn't that many fitness models like it was in LA Fitness Expo, it was very small but we did have fun we watch the competition of the stronger men and of course my inside wild girl come out and I was screaming my head off, only for the USA guys.:p did you guys see the picture that I posted on FB? that guy was huge!!!
Then Sunday I didn't workout and yesterday I wasn't feeling good, so I didn't workout, then when Stacy got back home from school she got sick:( fever, headache, stomachache, she didn't go to school today:( Hopefully she get's better soon, Dh went out to the field from Tuesday to Friday so we will be by our self for the next couple of months, he is just coming back home during the weekends.:p:D:eek::cool:
Today I finally got my game face on and I did disc 10 meso 1 chest/shoulders/biceps OMG it was a good one, since I don't have to be on a hurry to have everything in order for DH I'm going for a second ones.... hehehe!! I don't know yet which one maybe I'll do todays workout if not we'll see.... OMG!!! I'm so excited I woke up this morning to see that Cathe picked my recipe and it is on this week newsletter. Now that make my day and I feel so much happy now.

Eunice I think I am done with the rotation. I seem to want to change things up every two to four weeks. Even though I like all the workouts I think I just need a change. I saw the picture that you posted on FB, that guy dwarfed your DH. Sorry that you weren't feeling well but it looks like you are back in form again. Good job on disk 10. Cool that Cathe picked your recipe, I will have to check it out.

Well yesterday was yoga and the TRX training. What we did is to partner up and take turns doing the different exercises while the other person checked for proper form. That gave all of us experience on what to look for when you are helping out a client. You can do a lot of exercises with it and you sure do feel it too. You can make it harder or easier by changing how far you stand away from the straps. I would really like to take a class one day. Tomorrow I may not get a chance to post since my class this past Friday was postphoned because my instructor had a family emergency so I am doing a makeup session tomorrow.

This morning was Slow & Heavy Legs and Shoulders. I broke out my weighted vest to add weight to the squats and plies and I have a feeling I will be having some nice DOMS tonight and tomorrow!

Great job on disc 10! I’m glad you listened to your body and rested a little when you weren’t feeling good. I saw your recipe too and thought that was really cool that you got picked. Did you get anything for being picked? Oh yes, I love working out first thing in the morning. I feel stronger lifting weights in the afternoon but working out in the mornings energizes me for the rest of the day and cardio just seems a little easier in the mornings than in the afternoons when I am exhausted from work and commuting.

Cheryl Great job on yoga and TRX training! Do you think the TRX is something worth buying for home use? If what I am looking at is right, they can cost over $100 plus you have to find somewhere toEunice mount it. DH thinks he would like something like the TRX better than dumbbells and barbells but I don’t want to invest in something that will hardly get used.

Julie It looks like it is just you and me right now. Good job on S&H Legs and adding your weighted vest. I think it all depends on what you want to get out of it with the TRX. You can buy a model that has a door attachment but you may be restricted in the number of exercises that you would be able to do since the door would be in the way and it wouldn't be up high enough. You can use it outdoors if you have a sturdy tree branch to hang it from. What I would suggest is to go to Youtube and search for it. A lot of hits come up and see if you can find a video with someone using it at home and then decide if it is something you want to invest in. I hope that helps a bit.

This morning I did Cardio and Weights. I hadn't done that one in a long time. I went to class after work and we went over all of the muscles. My instructor said that this was the fastest that she had ever gone over that chapter. So now I have another chapter to read before Friday's session.

CherylGood for you, I think you are putting in practice what you are learning already!! It looks like a good idea. It was just one of those days, but I'm felling a bit better now. DH has a TRX and he was showing me how to used it it could get hard is true it depends on how far or close you stand away, I did uses for a while but that was it, its mainly for DH when he is at the field.

Julie Good job doing S&H legs and shoulders and for using your vest , wow!!! girl, you are really looking for some DOMS!!:p I do really like this workout too. I'm not sure if I'll get a gift card or not because I haven't hear from them last time when my personal story got picked I got a gift card from them pretty quick, so I'm not really sure how this work. Good enjoy working out in the morning..:p You know you can hocked in the garage, there is where DH uses his when he happen to use it at home.

CherylGood job doing cardio and weights. mmmm sounds like you are a very good student well that happen when you are really enjoying your class, good for you.


Yesterday I went back to get a second workout, I did scramble cardio premixes from Drill Max, I wanted something diff and fun and it was a good sweaty workout.
Today I took Stacy to the doctor since she's being sick, fever and trowing up, so yes she has tonsils infection and he took pee sample and did something whit it and say that she had some urine infection as well, so I cooked a chicken soup and some crackers she had some but still a little bit down.
I did workout though I had in the calendar TBLower body but I wanted something a little bit more leggy work so I did disc 12 and OMG, I'm just like Julie I'm going to feel it so good.

Hello ladies, I'm back! We had a good time in Vegas, altho it really isn't one of my favorite places to go. We got there Friday morning and took a trip out to the Hoover Dam. That was really fun as I had never been there. I am not crazy about heights though and it was really windy when we walked across the bridge so that was a little scary! Friday night was a little get together for everyone who was there for the wedding. On saturday we went hiking in the red rocks which was very cool. What a beautiful area that is. saturday night was the wedding and it was nothing like I was expecting. There was no leprechaun ring bearer, apparently he canceled and there was no Chumley. It was actually a very nice wedding ceremony, and probably the quickest I've ever been to. It was all over in in less than 10 minutes! After that was a reception in a suite at the hotel. Sunday we just walked around Vegas some and watched lots of basketball since it was NCAA tournament weekend. On Monday the guys played golf so my friend Sue and I walked about a little and went to see the white tigers and dolphins. I was very happy to get home though. There isn't much to do in Vegas if you don't gamble and don't want to shop. it wasn't warm enough to hang out by the pool or that would've been what I did.
This morning it was hard to get up with the 3 hour time difference, but I got up and did circuit max. I think there was a little inspiration from Julie and Cheryl there. It sounds like you are doing awesome with your PT training Cheryl and everyone has been doing great with their workouts as always! Julie, I'm so glad you are getting back to your morning workouts! :D Have a great day everyone!

This morning I finished the Slow & Heavy series with Triceps and Biceps. Surprisingly my legs are not really that sore this morning but, man, I have strong shoulder DOMS. I really love S&H shoulders because nothing gives me DOMS like that one.

Cheryl Great job on C&W! I have that on tap for next week. I love the music in that one and for sure will be singing Buttercup all day after doing it. So is the fact that the teacher went through the muscles chapter so fast a testament to how well you studied on your own? I’m sure she is thrilled to be having someone as dedicated as you are. Thanks for the info on the TRX. I’ll try to go out to YouTube sometime and look into it. DH is still just into walking right now so it would be awhile before I get serious about it.

Eunice Great job on getting that second workout in with scrambled Drill Max and then for doing disc 12 the next day! Hope your leg DOMS set in better than mine did. Poor Stacy! I hope she starts feeling better soon. Did the doctor give her antibiotics to help with the infections? Will she have to get her tonsils out someday? I had mine out when I was 2 or 3. I think that was the norm back when I was young but now I think they leave the tonsils in unless they start causing problems. I wonder if you won’t get a gift card since you just won one recently. That would stink. Hooking the TRX up in the garage would probably work but then we would have to move my car out of the garage whenever he wanted to use it. We’ll see. Maybe I will get him to be happy with dumbbells and barbells.

Pam Great job on getting up early and doing Circuit Max! That is a tough one when you are jet-lagged or running low on energy. Well, I’m disappointed you didn’t get to meet Chumley but I guess I will get over it. I’ve never been to Vegas but neither DH nor myself gamble and do not have a desire to go there. I know quite a few people who would take family vacations there with their kids and I never understood how the kids would want to go there but I guess it worked for them. Hope you get back to EST schedule soon.

Pam Hi Pam!!!:D:D So glad you are back!! I was thinking of you and thinking that you might have gotten stock on Vegas, I don't know why but it felt for ever, I was getting jealous of you checking on those fancy restaurants or I was missing you. It looks like you did have fun though, its good when we get back to the US we are going to be pretty close to vegas within hours but the thing is that we hardly plan trips there:confused: I have a friend that she and her DH used to go to Vegas pretty often, to often for a couple with 5 little ones :eek: Brandy or Astrid would babysat for her that's why I know it;) I don't know if having a 10 min wedding ceremony is a good thing or not. I have being there the Hoover Dam its huge and windy I know I have pictures that we took there when the wind was taking Rachel backwards.
Looks like you were anxious to get back to you workouts.. Good for you for doing circuit max, this girls can be very pushy (inspirational):D?!?!! Yes, I know that because yesterday when I was doing legs I thought of Julie using her weighted vest and guess what? I did used too hahahah!!!

Julie Good job doing S&H Triceps/biceps who knows maybe that one is going to give you a good set of DOMS. Well my legs are pretty sore today, so funny because when I was working out I was thinking every time I would squish my butt muscles:eek: well today I feel like I have something on them and its pretty uncomfortable sitting down:p and my quads and hamstrings along with calves are very sore as well, so I guess it did work;) I was telling Pam that I was thinking of you using your vest for legs so after I was done I did a few more sets of squats and wide stance squat with the heavy dumbbell and I used my vest too, thanks.
Yes, Stacy is taking antibiotics and it looks like is working maybe one more day. I don't think she need to get them taken out, hope not!


Ok, I'm early today hahaha!!! Stacy still not well, so I'm on bed next to her:( she wants me most the time, I'm about to change the movie and go workout. I haven't done that much in the house just pretty basic stuff, you know cooking and cleaning after my self and a little here and there, she didn't go to school again, hopefully by tomorrow she start getting back to her self.
I have Cardio super sets but I'm not sure I want to do that one. Well I have to see, I think I'm getting ready to move on like Cheryl did this is my last week then I have a rest week.

Ok I did my workout this morning I did changed I did disc 11 back/triceps then I did the cardio from 4DS Kickbox I did missed it, soooo good. Ok now I'm set to go away till tomorrow. Bye girls!!!!
