Strength in Numbers

Did the Treadmill for 30 min. A photo of our first snow storm. It's been trying to snow all day, now it really is and sticking. And it's coming down even more than this. Wow! It amazes me every year.

Cheryl, Great job on disc 18 back and biceps and LIC (Is that not hard for you?) and today's AB. You've been busy. Good for you! I bet it's snowing where you are.

Pam, Glad you enjoyed my poem. It was nutty for sure.:D Just being silly. Oh, it's so exciting about the basement. Things are moving along. Great job on AB. So glad your ankle is wrapped. I didn't even think of that. Your DH cares. Also great job on AT and a Bosu ab workout this morning.

Take care and be safe.

Janie

Janie Nice Picture. Yes we got about two inches on Friday night and just a dusting of snow last night. It is suppose to snow here tonight again so tomorrows commute could be a lot of fun .

This morning was Yoga at Lululemon. The instructor that we had today is one of my favorites because she makes it fun and challenging. After that my parents and brother came over and we went to a local pub for lunch. My parents leave on Tuesday for Yuma Arizona (weather permitting) with their trailer. They won't be back until April.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Cheryl Oh yes, Rusty is starting to feel right at home! I'm a little worried that the heating pad scared Spooky off from her bed. I haven't seen her sleeping in the bed since I put the heating pad in it . The outdoor house is supposed to arrive today so we'll see how that goes. The first guy I had on my 'list' was Dennis Quaid. My DH used to get a big kick out of saying that it was Randy Quaid.....ick. Made me think of that story of him and his wife hiding out in Vancouver. Are they still there???!
Great job on disk 18 Back and Biceps, LIC and AB! You have been busy! Sounds like you got clean max and shovel max in as well! Snow, ick. I am hoping we don't get any this year! . They were saying on Friday that there was a minute chance that we would get a few flurries early Sunday morning, but luckily we didn't. That is usually enough to send everyone rushing to the grocery store for bread and milk though  It sounds like you had a really nice Sunday. Great job on Yoga!

Janie Great job on the treadmill! As I said to Cheryl, all I can say about snow is ick. It sure is beautiful, but it is just such a hassle! You are quite the poet :D DOMS lady!

I spent most of Saturday running around town looking at tile and faucets and vanities. I found lots of tile that I like but had a hard time finding vanities that I liked. I did finally find a couple at Home Depot, but I think I need to do some looking online. Yesterday I did Yoga Max! I only checked the time a 2-3 times so I was pretty proud of myself. Some of the poses in that one get quite challenging! It seemed to really bother my foot though, it was more swelled and sore last night than it has been in awhile.:( I didn't tape my foot for it because i didn't think I would need to, but it was harder on it than the low impact workouts so I will know better next time. This morning I did Cardio Supersets with the step bonus and then I did the Core only premix from the original bootcamp. I was fried at the end! I hope everyone has a great Monday!.

Pam

Oops! It looks like I forgot to post over the weekend. I didn’t forget to workout though. I did STS Total Body on Saturday. It has been a long, long time since I last did that and forgot at how fast of pace it goes. After that, DH and I did an extended version of Clean Max. Sunday I did Yoga Relax and then was lazy the rest of the day. This morning I slept in and will do disc 19, chest, shoulders, and triceps tonight.

Janie Great job on Back & Triceps and Stability Ball Abs! Those pikes are hard and I can’t even try the 1-legged pikes. Love your poem! I think DOMS will be your best friend for the next several months with the rotation you are following! Great job for doing the treadmill for 30 minutes. I try and try every once in a while to do the treadmill but just can’t get into it. You are so good for doing it. The picture is beautiful. I love watching it snow but hate driving in it. My mom loves it now since she is retired and doesn’t have to drive in it.

Pam Great job on AB and AT! So glad your DH can help you wrap your ankle correctly so you can keep getting in your workouts but not do more damage to your ankle. Friday sounds like it was a super busy day and it sounds like the work is getting off to a good start. That is very exciting. That’s great that your DH is doing pushups and pullups even if he isn’t cycling. I’m surprised he doesn’t want to do STS with you now that Cathe is on his list. Oh I don’t think you can go wrong with however you make the ice cream, shaved chocolate, chips, chunks … it will all be delicious. Great job on Yoga Max! My parents redid their bathroom and built a new bathroom in their basement a few years ago. I remember going all over town looking at bathroom stuff with them. It was actually fun for me because it wasn’t my money or house so I got to play decorator. Great job on CSS + Step premix and the core from Bootcamp. I love those core exercises from Bootcamp but never think to do those as my ab workout. I always pull out ab hits, core max, or ab circuits.

Cheryl Great job on keeping up with your workouts, disc 18, Low Impact Challenge, and Afterburn! Plus doing Clean Max and Shovel Max too! I have a love-hate relationship with deadlifts. Sometimes they can tweak my back if I am not careful but I also feel like I can’t lift as heavy as my hamstrings need because my forearms wimp out on me. I ordered some versa grips so we will see if that helps. I wish I would have had them for Saturdays STS TB because I really wimped out in the forearms that day. I feel my legs got shafted. Oh well, maybe it all evens out in the end. Great job on yoga. I hope your parents can get started on their drive and that they travel safely.

Have a great day!

Did Meso 1 disc 3, legs. Oh boy. It was hard, but that's a good thing. The stability ball on the wall while going down with weight, I couldn't do. I lost the weight and continued on. Otherwise it wasn't going to happen. I'll be doing a cardio later today and I'll post that when I'm finished doing it.

Cheryl, We are supposed continue to have snow, so please drive safely, stay warm and healthy. We have a couple of inches so far. It will continue to snow through out the day and evening and I guess beyond. Time to get my snow shoes out. Maybe that's what I'll do today as my cardio. Hmmm. Great job on Yoga and glad it was fun and challenging for you. It's always so nice to see family, enjoy them. Joe and I went to Yuma a couple of times for the Winter. It was great weather and you met the nicest people. We loved going into Mexico and purchasing great deals there. Is Mexico still available to visit?

Pam, I love the snow when I don't have to drive in it. I just might get my snow shoes out. Maybe, I like watching it, but not sure It I want to get cold anymore. We'll see. You are doing the kind of shopping we are doing lately. We still need to figure out what tiles we want for the laundry room and bathroom. But first things first. We need to paint then on to that stuff. But, it is fun and exciting isn't it? Vanities make things look so quaint. Take your time and get one you really love. Great job on Yoga Max, you are progressing, good for you. Oh no, your foot needs to heal. No more bothering it!;) I'm sorry about that. It's so frustrating wanting to exercise and can't. Hang in there, it will get better, just let it. Taping your foot does sound like it's a little miracle cure, but do be careful. Also you did CS w/ the step bonus and core work. Good for you! I can see why you are fried.

Julie, Great job on Sat. for STS Total Body, and Clean Max. Now I need to do that to. Great job Sunday on Yoga Relax and enjoyed the rest of the day. Treadmill: Not my favorite thing to do, but if I watch some TV and not think too much about it, it's doable. LOL:D I should use Cardio Coach with that. It's always inspiring then. I love watching the snow too.:) It is so relaxing, behind a window. It's like the feeling you have watching fish, so peaceful looking.

Take care all, will post later tonight.

Janie

Pam I hope Spooky didn't get scared off because of the heating pad. Hopefully you receive the cat house today and can put the heating pad in it instead. Yes Randy Quaid and his wife are still here but things have calmed down with them now. They haven't been in the news for a long time. Someone who seems to be spending a lot of time here right now is Gene Simmons of Kiss. We just had a place for abused children open here which is named after his daughter. I guess they donated money for it and their daughter cut the ribbon for it. It is suppose to be on an episode of Family Jewels that will be coming up. We have been lucky with the snow for the past several years so I guess our luck has run its course. It is not going to be a good week for commuting and I will get my exercise doing shovel max. Good job on Yoga Max. It probably bothered your foot because you do a lot of balancing which can put stress on your foot that you don't realize. Wow way to go on Cardio Supersets with the step bonus and the core only from Bootcamp. I bet you were fried at the end.

Julie Good job on STS Total Body clean max and Yoga Relax. I have some straps that are similar to the versa grips. They really do help when you are doing back work so you can lift heavier. For me it is my fingers that have the hard time holding the weight. My parents are to leave tomorrow for Arizona but they are calling for more snow tonight. Hopefully it won't be too much and they can get as far away from here as possible before we really get hit with snow either Wednesday or Thursday.

Janie Good job on Disk 3. I can't do the wall squats and put down the weight and then squat down and pick it up again. It is just too hard on my back so I just keep the weights in my hands, that way I don't have to go down as far and my back thanks me. I think we are both getting that lovely weather system with all of the snow. So far it isn't too bad here but it is going to get colder and it looks like a lot more snow before it warms up and rains and becomes a real mess. My parents go to Mexico when they are in Yuma. My dad like to get his hair cut there because he says they do a much better job. They also get their eyeglass prescriptions in Mexico too because it is so much cheaper there.

Tonight it was STS Disk 4 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I really didn't feel like working out tonight but I made myself and am glad that I did. Well it is time for bed already.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Cheryl

I did 30 min. on the treadmill at 3.3 mph. Nice sweat going on. We now have about 4" of snow and weather man is predicting 13" for Shelton tomorrow. Wow! There is still even more snow coming during the next 3-4 days. Not nice for commuters. Very lucky that we are retired and don't have to drive in this mess. It could get up to 24" deep after these storms come through.

Cheryl, Great job on STS disc 4, chest, shoulders, and biceps. So proud of you to make yourself workout today. That's the way to do it! Get a good night sleep.

Take care and be safe,

Janie

Julie No worries about forgetting to post. I had no doubt you didn't forget your workouts! Great job on STS total body, it is a fast moving workout for sure! And Clean Max Extreme on top of that, good for you! Great job on Yoga relax and disc 19 too! The work is getting off to a very fast start, I'm really amazed. It's pretty fun and exciting, but I'm a little nervous about all of the stuff that I need to get picked out too! Oh no DH doesn't want to do the Cathe workouts, he just likes to sit on the couch and look at Cathe and the crew while I'm doing the workout  I forgot to tell you that I made the mint chocolate chip ice cream on Saturday to take over to my mom's house. It was really good. I grated the chocolate so that it was little shavings like you recommended and I put a lot in. I did miss the crunch a little though so I think next time I will do some of each :D My sister and niece loved it though. She had some peppermint oreos that she brought over the next day so that I can make some ice cream with them :D It is fun helping other people pick stuff out too, isn't it? My GF said that she wants to go looking with me this weekend. I had been planning to do the abs from Muscle endurance yesterday, but I was thinking that I really like the abs in Boot Camp so I looked and there is a core only premix. I was happy! They seem a lot harder when you are doing the ab exercises one after the other though!

Janie Great job on disc 3, that one gives me DOMs for days! I'm thinking you will be chanting your DOMs poem for a while! Oh yes, those wall squats are killers aren't they?! I do like looking at the snow when I can just sit inside with a fire and look out at it. It seems that we don't get that luxury too often though. Of course around here everything closes down when it snows, but I get stir crazy so can only handle that for so long! I have never tried snow shoes, are they fun? That sounds like a great workout! I'm with you on the cold though. DH was asking about going on a snow skiing trip this year and I had a hard time getting excited about it. It's fun, but I hate when it is bitter cold. If only I could order the perfect weather ;):D It is fun picking out all of this stuff. I get a little nervous though too about how it is all going to look. In my first house I picked a counter top from a little sample that looked nice but it was super ugly when it was a big bathroom counter. I think I have that memory lodged in my head now  At least it has made me more careful about what I'm picking. I love tile though, it is all so nice! I have found lots of tile options I would be happy with. I'm trying to find something that will go with the sink I made though so that I can use it there.
Oh yes, the foot is annoying me now. I just want it to be back to normal so that I can do whatever I want, but no such luck. The low impact series came at a good time for that though, it is helping me get through.

Cheryl The cat house came yesterday so I will put it outside tonight and take the heating pad out of Spooky's bed, so then she will ahve 2 options. I'm not sure if Rusty will try one out or not but we will see. It's supposed to be pretty warm all night tonight but I think tomorrow night is supposed to be cold. Gene Simmons seems like such a greak but that is a pretty nice thing that he did for the abused children. It's nice to hear stories like that about celebrities. Sorry to hear about your snow, it just makes commuting that much worse!
Great job on disc 4, especially when you didn't feel like working out!

Janie Great job on the treadmill! 13" of snow! Yikes! Stay warm and safe!

This morning was supposed to be Intensity for me but no way am I ready for that so I did Muscle max instead. That is one of my favorite weight workouts. I was really fried afterwords and am still feeling it in my chest and shoulders! I also forgot to tell you ladies that the other day my DH left the pull up bar in the doorway downstairs after he used it, so as I was going by I decided to try it out. I did 2 full pull ups! I was so surprised, I have never even done 1 before! I had my hands in the easiest position (it has little handle grips on it), but still, I was happy. I've been doing a couple a day now :D Have a great day everyone. Eunice, I hope you are having a blast on your get away!

Pam

Last night I got a really good workout in with disc 19, chest, shoulders, and triceps. I already feel DOMS in my triceps and shoulders.:cool: For some reason, I didn’t sleep well last night. I kept waking up every hour or two and then at 1, I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep for over an hour. This morning, despite wanting to stay in bed, I did HiiT 40/20 and realized my cardio capacity has decreased because I wasn’t sure I was gonna make it all the way through. I think I am going to try and add 1 HiiT workout a week to help my cardio capacity increase again. Thanks to Pam’s inspiration, I also did the core only premix from Bootcamp.

Janie Great job on disc 3, legs! Plus the treadmill later! Wow! I’m super impressed with your dedication. Those wall squats are tough with the weights. I saw Cathe on a youtube vide say that if it is too hard to go all the way to floor, to set the weights on yoga blocks. I did that and was able to complete the set. I’ve heard of Cardio Coach but don’t have any of his stuff. Maybe if I ever get on a running kick again, I’ll look into it. That’s a lot of snow. I’m glad you guys don’t have to travel anywhere either. Stay warm and safe inside.

Cheryl Great job on disc 4! Good job for making yourself workout too. Sometimes you need that push and like you said, you feel great for having done it. Maybe it is my fingers that give out on me instead of my forearms. There have been times that the barbell starts to slide out of my grip and I am afraid I will drop it so I just set it down for a few seconds and then pick it back up and go again. I got the versa grips yesterday in the mail but won’t get to try them out until Thursday night. We have had a very mild winter up until last week. Now we are getting the weather we should have gotten in late November. I was really hoping for a no snow/cold winter but I guess it isn’t going to happen.

Pam Great job on MM! That’s a favorite of mine. Congratulations on the 2 full pull-ups! I’m very impressed. I have the dead hang mastered and can hold my body above the bar for a long time but pulling myself up is like watching a pot of water try to boil over no heat … it ain’t happening anytime soon. Try not to worry about all the stuff you need to pick out for the basement job. It will get done with time and I am sure it will be lovely. What is it with some men not wanting to work out with Cathe? I think they are secretly intimidated but don’t want to admit it. Adding chunks/chips and shavings to the mint chocolate chip ice cream sounds good. You would get the best of both worlds then. Peppermint oreo ice cream sounds so good I think I just gained 5 pounds thinking of it. Good thing it is almost lunch since I am drooling now! Going with your GF to shop for things sounds like a lot of fun. Plus you will get to bounce ideas off of her. I was thinking the same thing this morning during the Bootcamp abs. Although there is that split second when they switch the next exercise that you can use for a mini break.

Have a great day!

Suppose to be my rest day. I'm thinking of doing a Cardio Coach later today. We'll see, if I do I'll post it. So much snow fallen during the night that our animal enclosure lost its roof. It happened the last time it snowed like this too. Animals can't get out, that's what is important. We have at least 10" on the ground and suppose to have 13 more inches today and tomorrow. We'll see. WOW! If that happens it will hit a record high! I have photos at the end of the post.

Pam, Great job on MM. I just love that workout. It's a heck of a workout and no surprise that you would be feeling it's effects. CONGRATULATIONS for being able to do 2 full pull ups. Yea for you! Once I get my snow shoes on, it is a lot of fun. But, it's better when someone can join in with you. You know what I mean? Vacationing in the cold weather is not my idea of fun, but I don't ski either or do those Winter things. If you have someone to enjoy it with, then have fun doing it. Memories are great to have. I get nervous too when ordering things for our house like Pergo and Tiles. We also have a little piece of sample. You never know what you are going to get. I thing something that goes well with your sink would be key. Enjoy! The Low Impact Series is such a useful series, I have to agree.

Julie, Great job on disc 19, chest, shoulders and triceps. So sorry about your insomnia. No fun at all, I know.:( Great job on Hiit 40/20 and the core from Boot Camp pre. What a big difference when you don't get your full rest at night. Wow! You did do it though, very proud of you.
400561393.jpg

Wanted to show the beauty and the calm before the storm. It's getting darker as I type.
400561391.jpg

This is how much snow (10") we have now, should be a lot more in the next couple of days. It is now snowing again.

Take care, stay safe and warm,

Janie

Hi beautiful ladies I'm back!!!:p we got home yesterday night, it was a very long drive coming back home but we are so glad we made it... It was a week of little bit of everything, we went camping we stayed in 3 diff towns, it was good just to be away from home that I even lost track of the day I was living in, we went to a small little town beautiful place, that I forgot where we were it was like being in Germany for real, then we stay in another town were we did wine tasting, see? I even buy wine now I just can't wait to cook a good piece of meat for the red wine, also we stopped to a under ground town that wasn't too too fun it was more scary than anything else the Aborigines were all out and about they even got way to close to my self while I was looking for a shirt in the car and Kenny was checking in the hotel, they were 4-5 of them two of them got close I didn't understand what the wanted I just kept saying NO, NO, ignoring and one of them got closer so I close the car and walk away:confused: OMG that was scary I thought he was going to take something from the car...
Then we went to the Ularu rock, we camp for two days we wanted to see the sunset and the sunrise but the weather wasn't soooo good to us it was raining the first night, we did one small hike the first day then next day when we did the second hike it was really nice and cool, the girls were like in two worlds first Rachel & Stacy good, but Brandy was asking why we needed to go to see a Rock? but then she was all good taking pictures so it was good. We ate bad, really bad, I mean not much healthy food, but I guess it was alright.
The last night we stayed Kenny got sick some kind of stomach bug he was up trowing up, not much sleep we left the next day early but he wasn't good he drove the first couple of hours I couldn't keep my yes open:eek: poor guy! so after we stopped to get gas, eat and Kenny took a little nap I decided to took over I was very afraid because I usually get sleepy on long boring drives I was just praying to please stay with my eyes wide open, and I did I drove for 600K Kenny slept most of the time so after that he drove again we stop after 12hours of driving stay the night at a hotel Kenny slept pretty good I got him a chicken soup the next morning we got up late and he was all better, so yesterday we drove for another 12 hours till we got home, Sam was with the neighbors having so much fun they did spoiled him I don't think he ever missed me :( BUT OMG the poor lady got dragged by Sam, I'm so embarrass :( and sad because her feet and knees they look like if she was in a very bad car accident but it was Sam, she said that it wasn't Sam's fault because she was bending down and she didn't see what Sam did so he just took off and run and she was on the floor for a while OMG I wanted to cry just to see her:( Other than that he was fine they have fun with him and they didn't hate him after that, I was soooo surprise because if it was me I would had have hate the dog that dragged me and hurt me, she kept taking him for a walk after that.
Well if I remember something else it happen I will tell you guys.
I haven't workout for a very long time eating only sandwiches the whole way we stopped once per day to eat but nothing really healthy.
I can't wait to go back to workout.
I'll try to catch up with you guys I haven't read all of your posts. Have a great day everyone!! I missed you guys:D

Eunice,

Your vacation has all the things you would want from one. Except maybe getting sick. Adventures like the one you had, makes for a tired soul. I bet you are so glad to be home. You guys drove for such a long way. Don't worry, vacations are suppose to be fun and eating, laughing and a good glass of wine. It was only for a short time. You all deserved such fun.

Get caught up and we'll talk again, so glad you are back safe and sound.

Janie

Janie Good job on your treadmill. Wow you have a lot more snow than we do. Further up the valley they have white out conditions and lots of snow but we only have about 3 inches and it doesn't sound like we will get much more. It is going to get really cold though. My parents were going to leave today for Arizona but because of all the snow in Washington they decided to postpone leaving until Thursday. Nice pictures you really do have a lot more snow that us.

Pam Hopefully Rusty and Spooky will like the cat house. It may take them a while to get used to it. I don't know what to think about Gene Simmons but it was nice that they donated money so a place could be opened for abused children. We actually got off lucky with the snow. Where Janie lives is getting most of it. It seems to have missed the Vancouver area. Other areas around us are getting hit hard though. Good job on Muscle Max. Way to go on your pull ups. They are not easy to do. Keep it up you will get stronger.

Julie Good job on disk 19. Sorry that you didn't have a good nights sleep, I know what that is like. I hope you sleep better tonight. I am worried that I am going to lose my cardio too for high impact with doing the low impact in this rotation. I was considering adding Hiit as well because it is also a really good workout. It may be your fingers that give out and not your forearms. I know my fingers are not that strong so it is hard for me to hold onto a heavy barbell or dumbbell. You will find that it takes a bit of getting used to for the versa grips but they will really help you out. We are getting some really cold weather here but luckly the snow will miss us. I guess we can always hope that Winter will miss us but alas it will always come and bite us eventually .

Eunice Welcome back!!!! It sounds like you had a good time except for Kenny getting sick. I saw your pictures on FB they are really good. I would have felt horrible if my dog injured the person looking after him too. At least she seems to be OK with it. Sam must be a really strong dog.

Today was Turbo Barre Lower Body Blast. My butt cheeks were really feeling it afterwards.

Have a good day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on disc 19. It sounds like you may be feeling that one for awhile! Sorry you had a lousy sleep but good job doing 40/20 anyway! Part of your problem with your cardio capacity could also have been because you didn't sleep well, that definitely takes it's toll. Great job on the core bootcamp premix, glad I could inspire you :D I am really worried that my cardio capacity will be shot when I am able to hit it hard again, but I will just have to build it back up. A Hiit a week sounds like a good plan. I bet you are right about the men not wanting to do Cathe because they don't want her to show them up. I hadn't thought about that  I was proud of my 2 pull ups until DH showed me what he does...he flips himself upside down in a little ball and then pulls himself up and down  I told him I would be afraid I would fall on my head!
The Versa Gripps really helped me a lot with holding onto a heavy barbell. They relieve the pressure on both your forearms and your hands. I had trouble figuring out how to use them, but the video that Janie pointed me to showing how really helped with that. I hope they help!

Janie Wow, I can't believe all of the snow you are getting. It is beautiful at first, isn't it? I hope you have lots of provisions in since it looks like you may be inside for awhile! That would shut us down for 2 weeks! Oh yes, it would definitely be a lot more fun going snow shoeing with someone else. Does Joey have any? That would be a fun exercise that you could do together besides TBS.

Eunice Welcome back Hot Momma! I'm so glad that you got to go on your vacation. It sounds like you had a lot of fun other than Kenny getting sick. That is no fun at all :( I'm glad to hear he is doing better though and that you were able to drive without getting sleepy. I get sleepy whe I am a passenger on long trips but if I am driving I don't have that problem luckily. I'm glad that Brandy enjoyed it too since I know she wasn't very excited about going! Wow, your experience with the Aborigines is very scary! I'm glad you got out of there, I wonder what they were doing? maybe just trying to scare you?! I'm proud of you for enjoying that good red wine too :D A nice piece of meat will be the perfect accompaniment! I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate with you for the sunrise and sunset though
That is frustrating when your pets don't even miss you, huh? It sounds like Sam had a fun vacation too. I would've been mortified too about what happened with the woman being dragged, but it's nice that she isn't upset. It an be hard to stay mad at a cute dog for long, especially when they give you the puppy dog eyes!

Cheryl I'm glad you aren't getting hit as hard as Janie with the snow. It is really something. It sounds like your parents were smart to postpone leaving on their trip.
Great job on TB Lower body blast. How are those cheeks feeling today?!

This morning I tried a Mindy workout that I have had for awhile but never done. Its called Guts, guns and glutes. There are 3 30 minute sections, one with a stability ball, one with a medicine ball, and one with tubing and a bar. I did the stability and medicine ball sections. It was pretty tough, I liked it. It's really fun because her son is in it with her. Anyway, I hope you all have a great day!

Pam

This morning was disc 20, legs. I’m pooped now. I got another not so good night’s sleep when I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep for an hour or so. It’s getting pretty frustrating  and I’m not sure what is wrong so I have no idea how to fix it. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Janie Boy I love looking at your pictures but I’m glad I’m not having to go out in that. You live in a very beautiful place, like something you would see on a postcard or painting or something. Hope you enjoyed your rest day (I bet your poor, tired muscles did!). ;)

Eunice Sounds like you had a great family vacation except for poor Kenny getting sick. I’m glad his stomach bug didn’t seem to last too long and he was able to help with the drive back home. I’m glad Brandy got over thinking the drive to see a big rock wasn’t going to be fun. I’m sure she will remember this trip for the rest of her life. Don’t worry too much about Sam and the neighbor especially since she is ok with it. I would feel bad too but accidents happen and it is not like he bit her or attacked her. He just got excited and took off after something forgetting to be polite to the nice lady holding his leash. Now that you’ve had a good vacation and eaten lots of yummy foods, I think Cathe would tell you it is time to get to work again! Just kidding!

Cheryl Great job on TB LBB! Are you cheeks still talking to you today? :p I think your parents made a wise decision on waiting to leave so they didn’t get caught in all the snow in Washington. I know it will probably ease your mind too not having to worry about them. Hopefully later this week will be a good time for them to head out and get far away from winter. I know what you mean about losing capacity for high impact. 40/20 is extremely high impact and the first high impact I have done in a while and my knees really felt it. I think adding in one HiiT or other shorter/higher intensity high impact workout a week sounds like a good plan.

Pam Great job on your GGG workout with Mindy! I thought my sleep might have had something to do with 40/20 feeling really hard but I think I am still going to try to put HiiT back in once a week to see what happens. Plus my calves are really sore today and I think it was because of 40/20 yesterday. It may take a few days or even a week but I am sure you will have your cardio capacity back quickly. Especially since you have been doing Afterburn and spinning which can be cardio intense. How in the world did your DH even conceive trying such a crazy move? The difference between men and women for strength is so unfair. I think I would have slapped DH upside of the head for showing me up. Well not really but I would have given him the “look”. Hopefully I can get the feel for using the versa grips quickly; although, I have heard they can take practice. I’ve been watching a few youtube videos so we will see how it goes.

Have a great day!

Did STS disc 4, shoulders, chest and triceps. I'll be doing abs tonight. Here is our latest photo of snow. It's really deep now, 15". UPDATE: Did one of ab hits tonight.

Cheryl, Your lucky only getting 3" of snow. It doesn't sound like it's through yet though. Your parents are smart to wait until the storms are clear. I bet they will have a wonderful time when they get to Yuma. Great job on Turbo Barre lower Body Blast. Fried Butt Cheeks. LOL. Nice to have the DOM's isn't it? Good for you.

Pam, Great job on Mindy's Guts, guns & glutes with the Stability and med ball & one with tubing & bar. Good work! I like Mindy a lot. Her son is in it? If I have that one (got to find out) I'll look at it and try to see him. Cool! We have plenty of provisions even a generator if needed. It's still not over according to the weather men. But it is hazy since we don't have TV to watch it. Joey doesn't have snow shoes, only me.:( I still don't want to go out there, but in the back of my mind, this snow won't last forever.

Julie, Great job on disc 20, legs. I bet you are really tired. Legs do that to me anyway. So sorry to hear about your insomnia. Not fun at all! Try to relax and get everything out of your head. Start with your feet and relax them and continue up your body until you are relaxed. Hope that helps. I love our living here as well as the ocean. Both places are like heaven to me. I'm so lucky, I know. Yep, my muscles are working and I feel like I'm getting healthier again. Long ways to go though.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Pam We aren't getting the snow that Jaine got but boy it sure is cold . I normally wear skirts or dresses to work but today it was leggings and a big sweater. It is suppose to be nice but cold tomorrow snow Friday morning and then turn to rain and then a big wet mess . My cheeks aren't too bad today I am feeling it but at least I could pass the toilet test :D. Good job on your Mindy workout. I have never done her but I know a lot of people like her. How is your ankle doing?

Julie Sorry you had another night of not sleeping. Waking up and not being able to fall back asleep for an hour or so is what I have been dealing with for quite a while. Lately I have been fine but I think I have problems sleeping because of menopause. I think you are too young to be dealing with that but maybe there are other things on your mind that you are thinking about? It makes it really hard to workout doesn't it. I don't have any good ideas for you on how to fix it though. Good for you in getting through disc 20legs. My cheeks are a bit upset with me today but they seem to be OK :D. I like your idea of adding on a HiiT or other higher intensity workout in the week. I was thinking of that on Sunday if I should try to do that too.

Janie You have us beat with the snow by a long shot. On the news tonight they said that the Seattle area got a lot of snow but not as much as they had predicted. We are suppose to get some on Friday morning and then it will warm up and turn to rain. It will make such a lovely mess.

Today was Afterburn. The mountain climbers and spidermans get me every time.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on disc 20! I'm so sorry you had another bad night's sleep. I hope that last night was better! I really don't know how DH dreamed up his move, but I am staying far away from that one. It is very annoying how strong men are without even trying  You're right, I hadn't though about how cardio intense spinning is. I think that it can be extremely intense. It is annoying though how being fit for one activity like that doesn't necessarily cross over into others  I'm sure you'll catch on to the versa grips quickly since you have been watching the youtube videos. The thing that I had trouble with was how to put them on. Once I got that figured out it was easy. They really do help too!

Janie Great job on disc 4 and your abs. You have really been hitting it hard, you should be so proud of yourself. Wow, I can't believe all of your snow. They have been talking about it on the news a lot around here. It sure is pretty. I thought it was really cute that Mindy had her son in the video with her. I think he is in another one of hers that I have too. He does a great job and it is just the two of them so of course she teases him quite a bit. She has dark hair in this video too, I don't think I've seen her with dark hair before. Oh I'm glad you have that generator so you won't have to worry about getting too cold if you lose power. It's too bad that Joey doesn't have any snow shoes, that would be a fun thing for you to do together. I don't blame you not wanting to go out there though. It makes me cold just looking at your pictures! It won't last forever, but it might seem like it does! ;):p

Cheryl I'm glad you aren't getting all of that snow. They are saying what a mess it is going to be when the rain start too. Ugh. I don't blame you for not wearing a skirt or dress to work in the cold. I am such a wimp about being cold! I'm glad to hear that your cheeks aren't too bad! The ankle is doing pretty well. It's getting back to it's normal color with just a little purple at the bottom and most of the swelling seems to be gone. It's usually a little swollen at the end of the day, but feels better in the morning. I don't think I'm ready for air jacks or anything yet, but I may try a regular step workout soon to test it out.
Great job on AB! Gotta love those spidermans and mountain climbers! I didn't mind them at all until you and Julie mentioned how tough they are and now they are killing me too. What's up with that?! I just didn't notice before?:confused:

Eunice I hope you are getting back into your routine now that you are back from vacation. There is always a lot to be done with unpacking, laundry, shopping, etc when you first come home, but hopefully that will settle down soon.

This morning I did LIS LIC. It went really well. I pretty much had that last combo down, I only messed it up once. I was happy with that. I do agree though that Cathe's cuing isn't the best in this one. The biggest issue was that I couldn't remember what was next since I don't know it yet, and she often didn't say until after she had started into the next move. I guess I will forgive her though :D;) I hope everyone has a great day, this sure seems like a looong week!

Pam

Well this morning I woke up with pretty bad pain in my calves. Not DOMS pain and not charley horse/cramps but also not to the point that I was worried I pulled my muscles. I decided to sleep in a little (I think I needed it with the last two nights of bad sleep) and just do a little foam rolling once I did get up. It seems to have helped a little but the 6 flights of stairs to my office this morning was not easy. I will be doing disc 21, back & biceps tonight so hopefully resting my calves some more will help.

Janie Great job on disc 4 plus ab hits! Wowy! That is a ton of snow. I’m glad to hear you guys have plenty of provisions plus a generator so you don’t have to go out in this. I hope you don’t get too much more snow. That would be crazy amounts. Plus if it all melted at the same time that can cause floods. I’ll try to keep your idea of relaxing from the bottom up in mind if insomnia hits me again. Thanks for the idea.

Cheryl Great job on Afterburn! Yep those mountain climbers and spidermans are my Achilles heel. I almost think using the discs makes them harder. Maybe not though. It might be too much on my mind keeping me up in the middle of the night. DH found out he has high cholesterol and now he wants me to put together a meal plan for him. He is very picky about what he eats so trying to come up with healthy choices he will like and he can eat in his semi-truck are hard. So I guess my new goal is to get one HiiT and one yoga in each week. I got HiiT done so far but skipped yoga today so I will have to do it Sunday.

Pam Great job on LIS LIC! That’s great that you only messed up once with having not done this one so much. I’ll be trying out the versa grips tonight. I’m kind of nervous excited. I’m glad to hear you say they help because they are pretty expensive and I would be mad if they didn’t work. I imagine if they don’t work tonight than it means operator error. I would stay away from the crazy pull-ups too and just be proud to be able to do them regular style.

Have a great day!

Didn't do much today since our power went out all day. Will catch up tomorrow on exercises. We are one of the lucky people to have our power restored so soon. Others will have to wait 2-3 more days at least. I have a couple of photos where hopefully you can see the ice on top of the snow. Erie to say the least with a halo of ice surrounding everything you see outside. I'll post at the end of my post some photos of our ice on top of snow. Scary. Will be warming up slowly around our area. In Shelton, (where Joey and I are) will predict one or two weeks to get this snow melted. So many trees and limbs have fallen on houses, some people made it out, others not so lucky. So sad.

Also the Paleo Diet that Cathe suggested is totally amazing. I'm losing weight with no problem at all and my skin is as soft as a baby's butt. I didn't know about the latter, what a really nice surprise. WooHoo! A happy camper here.

Cheryl, Great job on AB. You did good. Very proud of you. I have a hard time with mountain climbers and spidermans also. We had more snow than the Seattle area, but then again we always seem to every time it snows.

Pam, Great job on LIS LIC. Hope you get your exercises in tonight. Sounds like a good plan.

Julie, I'm glad you thought of the foam roller. It does miracles on sore bodies. The ice and snow is now melting slowly, and there has been mudslides already. It's just a start on our Winter weather this year.:(
