Strength in Numbers

This morning was disc 23, legs. The last of the trisets. I am kind of sad and excited at the same time. I like the trisets but I am also ready to move on. Well, I thought about the Chicago RT but just can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money. I know I am missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity but DH and I really don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on things. I feel like if we are going to spend close to $700 it should be on a vacation we both will enjoy. I’m kind of sad knowing I am missing my chance to meet Cathe but I still feel good about the decision.

Eunice Great job on CSS! I like that one a lot too. I kind of think of it as Afterburn Lite. It does get you good with all the different moves though. Enjoy your DOMS! I think you have more confidence in me restricting carbs than I do of myself. I have told Maggie she is lucky to have someone control her food for her. If I had that, I think I would look awesome!

Janie Great job on your treadmill workout! No problem on the disc numbers. I get them mixed up a lot too and sometimes have to go back and look before I post. Don’t beat yourself up too bad about the sweet potatoes. It was an honest mistake and now you know. Plus you didn’t gain any weight so that good (yes losing would be better but gaining would be worse). That would be great if this diet works for your GERD as well as everything else. It is so hard to find a way of eating that works for our whole bodies. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you! ;)

Pam Great job on TBT LB! I always think it is pretty short too and could have something added on. Besides abs, I have thought adding on the leg conditioning drills from Lower Body Blast would be a nice compliment. As a disclaimer, I am not a doctor nor do I have any medical training. My DH would strongly urge you to take any medical advice from me with a grain of salt. He tends to think I am a drill sergeant when it comes to physical stuff. I am more of the “just rub some dirt in it, you’ll be fine” kind of mentality. Not always a good thing. Just something to think about before you go full force! ;) No DH has not started his healthy eating yet. He did set a date of February 6 (the day after the Super Bowl, how convenient ). So that is a start, plus it gives me a little bit of time to get his menu planned out and start cooking his food. Something I haven’t done in years which is probably why his cholesterol is as high as it is.

Have a great day!

Wanted you all to know about the Paleo Diet: Here is a link to get you on the right track for a life supporting way of eating. I can't find a better diet than this.

Paleodiet Foods

The list says some foods the cave men didn't eat are nutritious. They may be, but don't put them in your diet, especially Legumes. It is not a true statement, but the list of foods are right on.

Will be back after my exercises.

Enjoy life.

I'm Back: Did disc 7, chest, shoulders and biceps. I'm tired of pushups!

Julie, Great job on disc 23, legs. You are on your way! There is no way I'll be able to make it on a Cathe road trip. Would love to but simply can't.

Pam, Great job on TBT Lower Body only. How was The Musical Memphis? We don't have to worry about flooding, we live on a hill. Thank Goodness!

Have a good one everyone,

Janie

Janie Don't worry about the mistake I have done it before too, not a big deal the good thing is that you did it.. Good job sticking to the Paleo diet and that is working for you, sweet potatoes are not bad starches of course not good for the tips of diet you are doing but those are good for you. I hope it keeps doing wonders for you. I haven't heard of the breaking bad yet!:p Australia plays old seasons on almost all of their shows and some of them are not here yet, I can't wait to go back home! hahaha I cannot sleep on my back still I have to sleep on my belly almost all night I think because my behind still pretty sore:D

am I think North Carolina has a Marine base, is it? I can't remember the name of the place I'm not sure if you are close to that area, I do like the heat of 29Palms the heat here is humid and I don't like it that much I sweat very grossly:eek: and I hate that. Oh so its going to be "Pam's cave" that is awesome if its going to have a female touch I love it, I hope it does work with the permission;) OMG Pam, I hope you are not pushing to to much your ankle for the description sounds like it's a good idea to rest a little longer. You know your body but if I was you I would hold on a little bit longer. Oh my behind still sore I can't sleep on my back yet:eek: but I'm getting so much better with the resistance yayay!! I guess you didn't read my message in BF yes, we got them thanks a lot now you have to tell me how much I'm going to owed you yesterday she was asking me which dvd to do first, thanks I will let her know that. Great job doing TBT Lower Body only a quick one is good too, I was thinking about you when I was doing Step Moves at the beginning started easy and good not much jumping and I thought that that was a good one for you but then a little jump here and there so probably not a good idea. Have fun at the musical Memphis free its a good thing that's for sure.

Julie Great job doing disc 23 I feel the same I love the trisets.. Well, so sad that you are not going to make it to the RT maybe some other time you will go and meet Cathe, I guess I was lucky to go to 2 RT but now I will have to save way before to go, I kind of was saving already but my savings are going to be to go to the wedding in Cancun so who knows, I would love to go to another one and more because the next one Pam, Cheryl and I think even you can come, we get to meet Cathe and meet each other, that would be awesome.
Yes, I think CSS it does even have some of the move from AB too.
If you stick to NOT carbs after 7 pm you'll do good. I guess you are going to have a lot of work now cooking for DH ;) hahaha just teasing you!

Janie Good job doing disc 7 chest/shoulders/biceps you are doing wonderful. I did share your link on BF a lot of the girls I know are doing Paleo Diet too so maybe a little extra help for them.

This morning I did disc 18? back/biceps I was sweating buckets it felt soooooo good, after that I wanted to taste my endurance and I did step moves I didn't get sick or anything like that I did pretty good.
Well nothing its going on down under, hope you are having a great time.:D;)

Janie Good job on Disc 6 legs and your treadmill work. A lot of people are trying the Paleo diet right now. I am not sure that I want to give up my dairy though. I looked at the link you had and will think about doing it. Don't worry that you messed up with eating some starchy veges. You will get on track with it.

Pam I hate it when I have to get up to go to the bathroom. I have a hard time going back to sleep after that. Yep I talk to Cathe too at the beginning of AT I have a love hate realtionship with the first part. Good job on 30/30. Sounds like you will be able to do high impact cardio now. Good job on TBTLB. How did you like the musical Memphis?

Julie Good job on disc 22 and 26 and 30/30. Don't worry about not being able to do all of the tricep pushups. I don't think there are many people that could do as many push ups as Cathe does. I agree that meso 2 & 3 have to be done in the evening. I don't have the strength to do them at 4 am. Too bad about the road trip but I understand about not wanting to spend money you don't really have. Maybe one day you could go to New Jersey to the road trip there.

Eunice Well the weather has got warmer but it could get really cold again. We still could get snow up to the end of March. We have several months to go before we can even think about spending any time outside. Ok that one makes more sense that you would have kicked yourself in the chin. 57 lbs for bench press is really good and you only had to drop it 5 lbs. You will get back up to where you were. LOL I like your response to DH that you would come and visit him. I like having 4 seasons too and being close to civilization. Good job on Cardio Supersets. I like that one. So did you pass the toilet test today or do you still have serious DOMS in your butt.

Well yesterday I was in an all day meeting which went late so I was feeling really crappy when I got home. I was really tired and for so reason had heartburn so I didn't get plyo legs done. Today we went to get groceries and by the time we got home and ate it was too late to do anything. This is why I would like to be able to get up early so nothing gets in my way. Maybe when the weather gets better it will be easier to get up early.

Anyway have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on disc 23. I do love the trisets, but I love the plyo legs even more so I never minded moving on the meso 3. I don't blame you for deciding not to go on the road trip. It is a lot of money for a couple of days. I agree that it is better to go do something that you will both enjoy. Next time I do TBTLB I'll have to keep the LBB leg conditioning drills in mind as an add on. I just sat there for a couple of minutes thinking about things I could do and then quickly decided to do nothing  I was thinking at the time though that I had the upper body part on the calendar for today. I was wrong though, so I probably would've done some of the upper body work if I had realized that. oh well. Oh I know you aren't doctor or anything, I just think I can use your advice and as excuse now :p;) I am like you that my reaction is to shake it off and move on. Of course I am always the first one to tell other people to take it easy, not to push it, etc etc, but I have a hard time taking that advice myself. My ex husband was a huge hypochondriac and I had such a hard time with that. Especially since I come from a family with some very serious medical issues. Well I think it's good that your DH has set a target date to start on his healthy diet. I think it was smart to choose the day after the super bowl. It is definitely hard to eat healthy on that day!

Janie I will have to go read about that diet. I would have a very hard time giving up my carbs, but it sounds like it is really working wonders for you! You are doing fabulously. Great job on disc 7 and all of those pushups. Man, they are just a huge pain (literally!), aren't they? Glad to hear that you don't need to worry about flooding!

Eunice OMG, you can't sleep on your back because your butt is too sore? Sorry, but that is pretty funny! :D Yes, there is a Marine Base in Fayetville, NC called Camp LeJeune. It is about 45 minutes - an hour away from us. Your DH should get stationed there and then we could get together in person! Well, DH is calling it my basement, but I think we both know whose it really is. I certainly wouldn't be putting a poker table in it if it were my decision only  And I wanted hardwood floors and he says absolutely not we are having carpet. Hmmmmm....maybe I should remind him that this was my Christmas present, huh? ;) I don't think I'm pushing the ankle too much. I am still mostly taking it easy but at least I am able to throw in some higher impact stuff which keeps me from going crazy. We are supposed to do the 5 mile Krispy Kreme challenge run a week from Saturday. I already told DH I may have to walk it, or at least part of it. I don't think he'll mind that though, because he hates to run too! I was trying to figure out what BF was, but I'm pretty sure you meant FB! I am really bad about reading my messages there so I haven't seen it. Don't worry about the mailing, it didn't cost very much at all. It's my contribution to her health :) I'm glad to hear that you are getting much better with the resistance, I knew it wouldn't take you long at all. I think Step Moves probably would be a good one for me.
Wow, great job doing disc 18 AND Step Moves! It sounds like are right back into the groove!

Cheryl At least I can usually get right back to sleep when I get up to go to the bathroom at night. It still messes me up though I think. The worse for me is when my alarm goes off in the morning. I usually hit snooze about 3 times and I never had trouble sleeping between those snoozes  Hahaha, I mostly have a hate hate relationship with that first pasrt of AT ;):p
Sorry to hear you are having such a busy week. It really is hard finding a good time to fit workouts into such a busy life. I bet it will be easier to get up early when it is warmer and lighter out in the mornings though. It is so hard to get out a nice warm bed when it is cold and dark!

Before the show last night we went to a new little Italian restaurant for dinner. They put bread on the table and served it with homemade pesto and olive oil. OMG, that bread and dip were soooo good. I ate 3 pieces! But it was before 7:00 so I'm alright, right? ;) Memphis was really really good! I didn't know anything about it so didn't know what to expect, but it was really fun. The music was all R and B and Rock and Roll which are my favorites. The woman who played the lead had just the most amazing voice too! Of course I got to bed late so it was hard to get up this morning, but I got up and did Slide and Glide. I think I am going to be feeling it in my abs later! I hope everyone has a great day!

Pam

This morning I slept in again to reserve my energy for tonight’s back and biceps. Plus DH and I got to bed late last night because after work we went to the Humane Society and looked at a 3-year-old boxer male named Ozzie. He was so cute and playful. He is tiny for a boxer though, only 47 pounds. We are going to pick him up Friday afternoon and bring him home (after he stops at the groomers to be bathed).

Here's a picture of him if you are interested: Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Boxer | Normal, IL | Ozzie

Janie Great job on disc 7! Uh Oh, only on disc 7 and already tired of pushups. I understand though, I think I was tired of them after the first set in the first disc, those dreaded sets of 8, 8, and 30! I’m glad to see you live on a hill so no chance of flooding. Flood damage is the worst. I commend you for sticking with the paleo diet. I don't think I could give up my greek yogurt, legumes, and sweet potatoes for anything. The rest of the forbidden list may be a little more doable but being a vegetarian, greek yogurt and beans are my primary source of protein and even though I eat fish, I could only eat so much of that a day.

Eunice Great job on disc 18 and Step Moves! You are so full of energy to do two workouts back to back. I would love to go to a RT but we will have to see how much it would cost to go to NJ sometime and whether we would have the extra money. Yep, it is going to be different cooking meals for DH. I think I will be spending an entire Saturday cooking all his meals for the upcoming week and then I don’t have to do it during the week. Is that cheating?

Cheryl Well bummer about not being able to get your workouts in the last couple of days. All you can do is pick up where you left off once you get time. Hopefully it will get easier to get up earlier once the weather gets better. I would love to go to the NJ RT sometime but we will have to see about the money situation. If only money and time grew on trees, that would be wonderful!

Pam Great job on S&G! Only 3 pieces of bread sounds like you did good to me. Well that would have just been extra upper body conditioning if you would have done some of the TBT UB even though you didn’t need to. Yep, I like plyo legs too. They are super fun and go by so fast. I think I actually like all the leg workouts for each meso but I don’t know that I could say which are my favorite. The bad thing with DH setting a date is that he is stuffing himself with every bad piece of food he can find because once he goes on his diet he won’t be able to eat it anymore. Hopefully he sticks with his diet though because I think it will really make a difference in how he feels everyday.

Have a great day!

While on this Paleo Diet, I haven't felt this good since I was diagnosed with GERD. IT WORK! For me that is. No more DGL, Papaya Enzyme, or Zantack (nasty stuff!) I'm in 7th heaven, lots of energy and in a wonderful mood! Today I did Hiit 30/30. Will also be going to the beach house this Sun. and won't be back until Wed. I can't wait to get more painting done. We ventured out today for the first time since the snow storm, and bought lots of stuff for the diet, since it works so well for me. Joe wants to get into it to. But he's having a hard time letting rice, beans and pasta we bought awhile ago not using it. I told him we can save these foods in case there is a disaster because we can't get the Paleo food anyways if and when that should happen. Most likely it won't but it's good to be prepared anyways. He seems to be fine with that. But I'll cook up those things for him lots of times anyway, just so he'll feel better about it, but I won't be eating it. No way, now that I have this awful GERD in control now. YippY! I really was not liking the way I was feeling and truly struggled with it. It's in the past and so grateful for Cathe turning me on to it. I'll have to let her know how she changed my life to livable again.

Eunice, I can't wait for you to get home too. LOL of not being able to sleep on your back, I'm assuming because of good DOM's. Thank you for sharing Paleo Diet on FB. It's so wroth trying. Great job disc 18, back/biceps and Step Moves. Sweating is a wonderful sign that you are pushing yourself. Good for you.

Cheryl, It's OK, once you can get up early again, you'll be back at it and looking good. I bet when there is more light you'll get up easier.

Pam, So glad you enjoyed Memphis. Sounds like something I would enjoy as well. Great job on S&G. It's funny, but now that I know this Paleo diet works for me, I don't miss the carbs I use to eat. I'm living GERD symptom free and that is literally a life saver. I use certain food as my medicine now. I am sooooo happy and it's a beautiful sunny day out. Woo! I know .

Julie, You got a wonderful fur baby. I looked at his picture and he's beautiful! Ozzie, what a perfect name for him. Tomorrow is the big day for all of you. Can't wait to read all about him.

Janie

Pam I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday. It seems like it has been a really long week. It is so hard to get out of a nice warm bed that is for sure. If I can sleep right through the night it isn't a problem getting up early it is when I wake up during the night and then have problems falling asleep again. Three pieces of bread before 7.....I agree you are alright to do that ;). Glad that you enjoyed Memphis. Good for you in doing Slide and Glide when you got to bed late.

Julie Congratulations on your new fur baby. He looks so cute in the picture. It will be an exciting Friday for you and DH. It was one of those weeks for me. I hope things get back to normal next week. I wish money grew on trees too. You never know you may be able to go to the NJ road trip sometime.

Janie I am glad that the Paleo diet is working for you. I am not sure I could give up the carbs or dairy though. Good job on HiiT 30/30. The weather was really nice here but really windy. You were snow bound for a while, glad that you could finally get out and about.

Today was disc 27 shoulders, bis and tris. It felt good to get back to it again. I can't tell you how glad I am that tomorrow is Friday. What a week.

Cheryl

Pam Yes, that's right my butt, back, were pretty sore my chest and quads were not any better but better to handle now I'm much better I can sit down and workout better too. Ok, I heard about that Marine base and DH always say that there is not a good place to get station, I don't know why? it'll be awesome if get station there, I will go met you right away!!! Maybe you should remind him that is was supposed to be yours but I think I would do the same let DH do the majority of the decisions of course I would get something else for my self:p Well I really hope you get better soon, do you do the R-I-C-E kind of rest when you are resting? you should. mmm that 5 mile Krispy Kreme run sound really sweet:p is this the doughnuts? I think so too you should walk the run. Did I wrote BF? hahaha!! yes that's funny too, Thanks from me and Astrid she will deff need to finish the program and give a full report about it. Sounds like you had a great night last night, 3 pieces of bread before 7pm you'll be good! good that the musical you went to watch it was a good one that is a big plus. Great job doing S&G enjoy your DOMS I wonder if you are going to be able to sleep on your belly.:p

Cheryl I'm getting a lot better the DOMS are starting to vanish:D enjoy the warm weather while it last geez! it feels like for ever 2 months well I'm counting till we get back to the states so 2 months is nothing compare with 7-8 months of waiting:p Well I hope you get to workout today, that happen sometimes when we get busy or not feeling well. Hopefully when the days get longer you can go back to your routine. Great job doing disc 27 shoulders/bis/tris enjoy Friday!!!! Mine its almost over:confused:

Julie I'm glad you took the chance to sleep in this morning, have fun tonight doing back/biceps.... OMG you are getting a new dog:D I like his name too. So cute! I wonder whats Maggie going to do? So you are vegetarian? sorry if you have say it before  do you eat fish every day? I was full of adrenaline pumped and it felt good too. We still have time to plan and save the money for the RT!! If it works for you cooking one day for the week or for how long do you want it to last, its fine, I guess!!!!:p

Janie I'm glad that the Paleo Diet its working for you and if you got ride of the majority of your meds that's even better. Great job doing 30/30 yes!! you are full of energy:D Have fun at the beach house don't work to too much, this diet its pretty expensive I know we did it for 30 days and for the whole fam and it was pretty expensive but for 2 I think so much better.

Today I did LI challenge this is the second time I do this one and I did have trouble doing the last combo I felt lost I was rewinding the dvd then I just stopped and watched Cathe doing it  I hope next time if I do it one more time I'll do much better I like the last, last part of the workouts I even liked the pushups because they are not that many and I did good with them, BUT I was sweating like crazy so I guess I did something good besides getting frustrated:confused: well Friday here its almost over it was soooooo hot:confused: well have a great weekend everyone.:D:p

Julie Congratulations!!! OMG, Ozzie is SO cute! You need to give him a big doggie hug from me! That is small for a boxer, but it sounds like a good size to me. I bet Maggie will be excited to have a playmate again. I'm so happy for you!
I agree that all of the leg workouts in the mesos are great. And all so different too, but the I think the plyo legs are my favorites (other than those 1/2 turn jumps of course!) Oh that's not good that DH is trying to load up on as much junk as possible now  I hope he does stick with his diet. Tell him we are all rooting for him!

Janie I'm so glad that this diet is working so well for you. I think that you should submit a success story to Cathe about it. I was just so tickled reading your post seeing how happy you are. That is just fantastic! Here you were just trying to lose a few pounds and have gotten all of these other great benefits. Great job on Hiit 30/30. I'm glad you were able to get out too. I know I start getting a little stir crazy when I get cooped up like that. I'm not surprised that Joey wants to go on the diet now too after seeing your great results. The good thing about rice, beans and pasta is that they will all keep for a long time, so you will probably have the opportunity to use them at some point.
It's great to know that you aren't missing the carbs. You are too cute. Reading your post just made me smile :D

Cheryl Hooray, Friday is here! This week went by pretty fast for me, but last week just dragggged. I'm always happy for Friday though! Sleeping through the night is rare for me anymore. I hate that! Great job on disc 27. I'm glad that you were able to get a workout in!

Eunice I'm glad that you are able to sit again and that your workouts are getting easier. Yea, I don't really know anything about the Marine bases. Other than location, I wonder what makes some better than others. Last night DH told me that once the basement is done I may never see him upstairs again because he will always be in the theater room. I reminded him that it is supposed to be MY basement so asked him who will be choosing what is ON in that room??! He didn't really have a good answer for me of course  I was doing the RICE for my ankle at first, but now about all I'm doing is not wearing heels and making sure that I tape it when I work out. I know I should probably be wrapping it during the day too. Yes, the Krispy Kreme run is the donuts. The 'challenge' is to run 2.5 miles to the Krispy Kreme, eat a dozen donuts and then run 2.5 miles back in under an hour, preferably without throwing up. We always enter as casual runners, which means that we aren't eating a dozen donuts or going for a time. THe boys usually do the challenge part. The amazing thing is that the guys who win it every year do all of that in under 30 minutes. I can't even do 5 miles in under 30 minutes, let alone eat 12 donuts in the middle! It's a crazy race that some frat boys at NC State started a few years ago and I think there are 7000 runners this year. And no, I didn't have to sleep on my belly last night after S&G! :D
Great job sticking with LIC even through the frustration of that last combo. You'll get it. I always get so mad though if I have to pause and watch during a workout. Most of Amy Bento's step workouts are like that. You got a good sweat in though and that is what matters!

This morning for me was Turbo Barre. Oh man, it was only the 2nd time I had ever done it and I forgot how hard those outer thigh lifts get. My outer thighs were screamin! It really moves fast though and the ab section is a goodie! I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!

Pam

Last night was my final disc in meso 2, back and biceps. Full of lots of drop sets which I love. This morning I did Cycle Max and the abs from Pyramid Upper Body. Well, today is the big day! We will be going to pick up Ozzie this afternoon. As soon as we finish adopting him, he is going straight to the Petco to get groomed. After that, we take him home for him to explore his new surroundings!:eek:

Janie Great job on Hiit 30/30! And I am so happy that the paleo diet is working for you not only for weight loss but also all these nice side effects of controlling your GERD. I know GERD and IBS can be difficult to control so this just makes me so happy to know you have found something you enjoy so much! :D I can understand Joey’s concern about food not going to waste. I think saving them is a good plan but like you said every once in a while making them for Joey would probably keep him happy too! Yep, this afternoon we are going to have a new furbaby to love forever. DH and I are very excited!!!

Cheryl Great job on disc 27! I’ve had a crazy week too but not so much after work but during work. This week has been crazy with meetings which for some reason wear me out. I am so happy today is Friday and I am leaving early to pick up Ozzie. Hope next week goes better for you!

Eunice Great job on LIChallenge! I have only done that one once but remember the last combo being the tricky one and not really getting it until she put it all together. If you were sweating, you were still doing something right. I think Maggie will pretty much ignore Ozzie. They met the other day and he pawed at her face trying to get her to play and she just stood there looking at him like he was crazy  but she never growled or barked. Yep, I’m a semi-vegetarian. I do eat fish, eggs, and dairy. I eat dairy everyday but fish and eggs are more occasional.

Pam Great job on TB! I do really like the ab section on that one. I hope you can still walk and sit tomorrow! Ozzie is pretty small for a boxer especially a male boxer. He is adorable being that tiny though. I like big dogs but he is still above what I would consider too small for me. Maggie isn’t really a player but I know she will enjoy just the general company of another dog. Although, who knows maybe Ozzie will convince Maggie that playing is a fun activity. :p I will let DH know that everyone is rooting for him and we all know how hard managing a diet can be. Thanks for the support!

Have a great day!

Did Disc 8, Chest and Triceps.

Cheryl, Great job on disc 27 shoulders, bis & tris. I bet it did feel good to get back into it. Good for you! Rest this weekend.

Eunice, Great job on LI challenge, it will get easier.;)

Pam, Great job on this mornings Turbo Barre. DOM's for you in the future.;) I did tell Cathe on the ask Cathe forum how much I appreciated her influence and how I'm so much better now because of her.

Julie, Congratulations for doing the final meso 2 back & biceps. Yea! Great job on this mornings Cycle Max and abs. Enjoy Ozzie. Can't wait to see photos of him. Give him a big hug from me, and tell I said he has the best parents. How did he like his new home?

Take care,

Janie

Eunice Glad that your butt and back are doing better and now you can sit down:p. Time always goes slow when you are waiting for something. Good job on LIC. Don't worry I still feel lost when I am doing the last combo too.

Pam I am glad that your week went by fast. It seems when you get to a certain age sleeping through the night goes out the window. Turbo Barre really gets you. It is a really good leg workout and the abs at the end are pretty tough too.

Julie Congratulations in finishing Meso 2 and doing cycle max and the abs from PUB. So exciting to be getting a new fur baby. Enjoy getting to know Ozzie.

Janie Good job on disc 8 Chest and Triceps, how are you liking all of those push ups .

Man but I have had a really crappy week. Friday I left for work and was half way to the bus before I realized I had forgotten my lunch. I couldn't go back for it since I would have then been late for work. So I had to stop off to try to find some healthy things to eat when I got downtown. The day was so stressful with a bunch of stuff that was going on so by the time I got home my stomach was really hurting. So I didn't have dinner and went to bed. This morning I went to have my hair highlighted and cut which went well until I got home. Our furnance started make a high pitched noise so we had to shut it off and call in someone to take a look at it. So after he looked at it we were told what we already knew.....we need a new furnance. So now we need to start getting some quotes on how many thousands this is going to cost. Our furnance is 35 years old and we knew we would have to get one soon but I was hoping for at least another year.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Cheryl

Pam I don't really know what its about that place that DH would not like to go there:confused: I'm sure your basement project its going to be awesome once is done, you are going to be "The President" of the basement but DH its going to be enjoying it :D I remember not being able to wear high heels either and I took that as my mark when my ankle got well high heels felt good again.:D wow!!there is a lot of people in the race this year, that run its kind of fun of course for the ones who get to eat all those donuts, I think I would do the same just as casual runner its good, do you like those donuts? I remember when my in-laws found about them they would took us to see them making the donuts and we would get one for free, I don't know if they still doing the same but I haven eat a donut for almost 2 years or maybe more:D Oh I hate that when I can't do the whole workout because some of the weird steps but maybe next time I'll do better or maybe after I'm done with my regular workout I just should take that part of the workout and practice:eek: Good job doing Turbo Barre, I don't have the rack do you think I would be able to do it with a chair?

Julie Congrats finishing meso 2 ad good job doing Cycle Max and abs, I like the drop sets too.. How is Ozzie doing? did he get to sleep with you guys too? I like the LIS Challenge but something that I got to notice was the music  not a fun one I could'n do the whole workout so I was paying super duper extra attention and I noticed it:confused: hahaha poor Maggie probably she was more let me alone hopefully they get to play a lot, one day when we took Sam for a walk I saw another guy walking with his dog on a leash I told Kenny go, go don't let sam come over here there is another dog I did asked the guy if it was boy or girl he say girl OMG Sam its going to get crazy if he gets close to her, well they did along the way he was going to the same place as we did so I was very surprise that Sam did great, he just wanted to play not crazy I told Kenny I wonder if he knows what that thingy for?:p:D he didn't even try to get to tooooo crazy with the girl dog.

Janie Great job doing disc 8 chest/triceps

Cheryl Oh yes by now I am much better thanks. Hopefully LIC get easier or I won't doing it again.:( Sorry to hear that your Friday started bad, at least it was the last day of work, mmmm I like the idea of your hair I bet that was better, but then again with the furnace that is crazy but 35 years old it did good I hope you don't have to spend thousands that is not going to be easy one to let go that much money.

Yesterday I did After Burn and OMG that one kicked my butt, it was good I didn't get to kick my chin this time but something else happen,
I was doing one of the combos inside in the house the ones with the plates for planks and jumping jacks and stuff, the girls were playing with water balloons they got the floor wet so when we got to the side squat holding the 10 pound dumbbell I didn't see the water was near my foot so when I stepped to the side I did step on the water "OMG I did a split!!!!!" when I was going half way down I was holding the dumbbell and I didn't wanted to dropped it but then it clicked on my head that my legs were more important than the dumbbell so I dropped it got to hold my self I was in that position for about 3-5 seconds thinking wow!! I'm flexible  so very carefully I did stand up and keep working out I think because of my muscles were hot I didn't get hurt but I'm kind of sore on my left side a little bit more because that's my surgery knee and its kind of numb so I did over stretched and I felt that. But other than that I'm fine and I'm happy I did workout 6 days yayay!!!
Have a great day every one!!! Happy Sunday!

Yesterday I did the Pyramid Bonus Combo. It was really good and I have some great shoulder and hamstring DOMS today. After that I did some light cleaning and then we took Ozzie and Maggie to my parents and stayed the night. Today I have a lot to do when we get home but I will try to get my yoga in.

Janie Great job on disc 8! I completely forgot to bring my camera down to my parents but I will try and get some taken today. I'll give him a hug if I can catch him. He is a little ball of energy but that is ok. Thank you for saying we are the best parents. We try to be good to our dogs since they bring so much joy to our lives. Ozzie is liking his new home and has already destroyed 2 of the 4 new toys we bought him. Better that than our furniture though!

Cheryl Oh man, I am so sorry your week ended badly. Replacing your furnace in the winter probably isn't something you wanted to do. I hope it doesn't cost too much although I know when we replaced ours 10 years ago it was not cheap. Our central air conditioning unit is really old and I just know it is going to break in the hottest part of the summer because that is how it always goes. Good luck with getting your furnace replaced soon.

Eunice Great job on Afterburn! Wow, that is crazy what happened! Did your girls see you do the splits? You are flexible to have done that. I'm glad you didn't get hurt. Ozzie is awesome as DH would say. We tried having him sleep in a dog bed next to our bed but he wanted to sleep in the bed with us. Maggie didn't like that and got up and started pacing so I went to the living room and slept on the couch with her the last two nights while DH and Ozzie got the bed to themselves. Something doesn't seem right about that! Sam seems like a typical lab, just wants to play, play, play! So cute that he got along with the girl doggy. It is really fun to see dogs play together nicely.

Have a great day!

Julie Great job finished meso 2! Also great job on Cycle max. So exciting about Ozzie, I'm glad to hear that he is getting settled in. It's not right that Ozzie and DH got the bed to themselves though, that sounds like it is going to need to be remedied quickly!
My DOMS were not too bad yesterday at all. My outer thighs were definitely feeling it but it was on the milder side of DOMs. I bet Ozzie is really really cute. I don't think I've ever seen a boxer that small. He just might get Maggie to start playing.

Janie Great job on Disc 8. h oh, chest and triceps, must've been another push up fest! I'm glad that you let Cathe know how much she helped you!

Cheryl Man, I'm sorry you have had such a crappy week. I hate it when I forget something at home. Friday's are not supposed to be so stressful :( The broken furnace is terrible. They are so expensive. I hope you weather isn't too cold while you're waiting to get it fixed.

Eunice I like that, the President of the basement :D I'm not sure it's really going to work that way though, something tells me  I love the KK donuts. They are so good. I usually eat one during the race instead of 12. I was thinking the last time I had a donut was at the race last year, but I remembered that we didn't go last year because it was cold and raining that morning. I think it has been 2 years since I had a donut because I had one when we ran 2 years ago. They are sooooo good when they are hot right off the line. I don't think they give those out free anymore, but you can go in and request to buy one off the line. They even have an iphone app to let you know when they have hot donuts  I think your idea of practicing that 4th LIC combo after you do other workouts is a good idea. Then you won't feel like you are missing out on valuable workout time since you will have already gotten one in.
I do think you could do TB with a chair. I used to do the bonus barre section of one of the other discs (Butts and Guts?) just holding on to the side of the foosball table. You just need something that is able waist high to hold onto.
OMG, you and your exercise mis-haps! I can't believe you did the splits in your kitchen. Ouch!!! I'm glad you are ok and that nothing too terrible happened! So funny that you were thinking about how flexible you are!

Julie Great job on pyramid bonus combo! How do your parent like your new addition?

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to post but I did all of BM2. It just never seems like it is a 95 minute workout, it goes by so fast. I just love. Last night we had some friends over for dinner and today is my rest day so I'm doing laundry and running some errands and just chilling while DH plays golf. Cheryl, I sure hope your weekend got better! Have a great day everyone!

Pam

Julie Good job on the Pyramid Bonus Combo. I don't think I have ever done that one. So are Ozzie and Maggie getting along well? No we sure didn't want to replace the furnance in the winter but if we replace it before the end of March we can get a rebate which will help with the cost. Furnaces and Air conditioners always seem to break down when you need them the most and of course that is never a good time.

Pam Friday's are suppose to be a clean up day to get ready for the next week. I sure do hope next week is better. At least our weather has warmed up and the person who came over to look at it put some oil in the motor and that seems to have helped for a while. However tomorrow I will need to start calling around. Good job on BM2, that is one I haven't done in a long time.

Eunice Hang in there with LIC it will get easier but that last combo may take a few more tries. We will have to spend between $4,500 - $5,000 for a new furnace. There is a Provincial rebate we can take advantage of so at least that will help a bit. I am glad that you didin't hurt yourself doing Afterburn. Scary to do the splits when you are not ready for it. Good for you to workout for 6 days. I am hoping for that next week.

Well today was yoga. The instructor is really good he was making us do some hip opening stretches which are a bit uncomfortable but feel really good after you are done.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Which dvd has this Pyramid Bonus Combo? Great job, I'm assuming that it is whole body workout huh? enjoy the DOMS and the cleaning:p How fun taking Maggie and Ozzie to your parents house. I think Pam is right you have to fix that little problem, how is that Ozzie and DH are taking over the whole bed? something is wrong right there:p:p Poor girls in the house:( I hope Ozzie and DH made some space for you, you need your beauty sleep. NO my girls didn't see me doing the split Stacy is pretty flexile she can do the splits and put her leg over her face standing on one leg:confused::eek: I am always telling her to stop doing that but DH say she is fine.

Pam Well if you get to have one donut this year mmmm enjoy! 2 years since you had one I think its time for another one!:p Its funny that they even have a iPhone app just to let you know when they have hot ones. do you have the app?:p I wanted to start today practicing the step of LIC combo but when I finished my workout I saw that my sister was trying to connect to chat one of my brothers was there too so I did chat with them for a little bit and I didn't get the chance to practice but after I talked to them I went to do core from Muscle Max I got a good burn! I'm going to use the chair that what I did use on the bonus barre from LLB I think. I was just scare when I did the splits but I'm fine now.. Good job doing BM2 I love that one when I'm on shape when I'm NOT I get pretty bit up! Enjoy your rest day don't do to too much laundry.

Cheryl OMG that's a lot of money! not easy to let go but I guess having the furnace its very important so you won't freeze, good that they have the rebate some is some and better than nothing. Very scary doing splits for the first time ever. Lets do it together, 6 days of working out we can do it. Good job doing yoga I don't think I need a hip opening after my split:p but I'm glad that you felt good after.

Today I did disc 4 chest/shoulders/biceps and OMG! those pushups are not a joke Cathe was dreaming when she film that workout the last killer 21's was crazy I did do toooooo good! but it felt so good after I was done, sweaty like piggy. I got to do FaceTime with my sister one more time so I didn't have time to practice the last combo of LIC but I did core work from muscle max, OMG!!! How can I forgot to let you all know that today was Kenny's first day going back to work! now the house is quiet and empty Stacy & Rachel are outside playing and Brandy is finishing her school homework she goes back to school this week too the little ones I'm not sure yet if this friday or next one, anyways Sam and I going to be alone again:( Nope yayayayay!!!!! JK
well have a great day everyone.

Cheryl I hope this week is much better for you. It's always a pain having to deal with an unexpected problem and expense though. I hope you are able to get the furnace replace quickly. I'm glad to hear you'll get a little help with the rebate at least.
Great job on yoga. The hip opening stretches sound interesting. It sounds like something that I could use for sure!

Eunice OMG, Stacy can put her leg up over her head? Wow, that is VERY flexible! I agree that it is time for another donut! I'd rather have one of the hot ones though instead of one out of the boxes that they pile up for the runners. You should see it though, they just have tables and tables piled high with boxes of a dozen donuts. Last year our friends took their lab on the run with them and she took a donut right out of someone's hand :p I don't have the iphone app, I think that might just be a little too tempting to know when hot donuts are available! You'll get a lot of chances to practice LIC for sure so I think it was good that you spent that time talking to your sister and brother instead. Isn't facetime great?! Great job on disc 4 and the core from MM! I'm glad that you didn't hurt yourself doing the splits. That would be pretty scary! It's funny that you got to do facetime while you were all sweaty from your workout. Good thing that they can only see you and not smell you! ;):D Congratulations on having your house to yourself again. Now you'll be able to get back into your routine with Sam.

Yesterday I ended up doing Yoga relax so that I didn't feel like a total slug. It felt good. This morning was Athletic Training and it got me good. Trying to decide if I'm up for Imax 2 tomorrow......???! We shall see! Have a great Monday everyone, why do they always come so fast?!
