Strength in Numbers

Pam Oh yeah it is going to be really messy tomorrow. We are suppose to get snow tonight and into tomorrow morning when it will turn to freezing rain and then just to rain. I am not amused . This morning it was somewhere between 20 - 25 degrees we are not used to having it this cold here. Glad to hear that your ankle is getting better. You should save the air jacks for a while longer ;) You shouldn't have listened to Julie and me about the spidermans and mountain climbers. We have jinxed you now  I haven't mastered the last combo in LIS LIC yet. I will give it another go tomorrow.

Julie I see that Cathe is having a Chicago roadtrip. It is pretty close to you isn't it? Are you going to go? I hope your calves are doing better today. I think using the disks for the mountain climbers and spidermans makes it more difficult. I guess we should stop talking about it because we have now jinxed Pam......Oops. I hope you get a better sleep tonight. If there is too much on your mind it really doens't help you sleep. Your DH sounds like mine. I am not sure if my DH has high cholesterol but he is picky about what he eats. Ummmm shouldn't he help you with a healthy meal plan instead of having you plan it out for him. Good job in getting your HiiT in. Sunday always seems like a good yoga day.

Today was disk 2 back and triceps. It was a good workout. I am soooo glad that this week is almost over. I am tired of the snow and the cold and we really don't have that much snow but I am so over it right now. How many more days until Spring????

Happy Friday everyone.

Cheryl

Janiefor sure we did had little bit of everything and it was fun, now the hardest part is going back to normal:( but I will sooner than later.... I love your pictures I love to see the snow I know it gets pretty messy but I think its pretty too. Also I want to tank you because of the surprise:D I haven't read the girls reactions I bet they were excited I'd have it as a present from another Cathlete and I love the video now I'm glad I have double just in case one stop working. thanks you very much.
Good job doing all of your workouts you had being better than me, a great example for me.

Cheryl Thanks for the warm welcome, Kenny is all fine it was one of those one day sick thing, I was so glad the he was so much better the next day I don't think I'm good with longs distance driving, OMG I went to check on my neighbor and she was asking me how Sam was and that they missed him. She is very small lady, skinny lady so ye very easy for Sam he is very strong.
Good job doing Turbo Barre I guess getting sore bum is a good thing.

Pam Thanks for calling me hot mamma but right now I'm more wiggly mamma:confused: haven't workout for so long it really sucks. This time I did pretty good with the driving but another times when we are driving from Texas to home I got soooooo sleepy very scary. Oh and I also get very sleepy when I'm the passenger so really I'm not good DH say that I'm bad as a navigator :confused:I wish I was like you. I think the aborigines wanted to scare me too. Tonight is the night to open the red wine mmmmm I can't wait. I went to see my neighbor her ankles and knees still looking the same poor lady but I don't think she is doing anything to get better, she is up on her feet and walking, very slow but walking she is not resting or taking any advil or anything:( Talking about ankles, how is yours? are you jumping up on your feet too? doing cardio yet? I hope you are much better.
Great job doing Mindy's workout.

Julie How is my supper, supper active friend? I was reading that you did have some trouble sleeping? I hope it gets better some times if you over think about it just right before going to bed doesn't help, huh? I'm glad you are still working hard doing disc 20 legs.
I think going to see the rock was a good thing, they all going to remember that.
Thanks for making me feel better about Sam being just a dog, very strong dog OMG. Yes, he did forgot that dragging people is not good.
I was thinking about you yesterday, mmmmm? I don't think Cathe is saying that to me is Julie telling me that is time for me to get up and go workout hard:D hahaha thanks.

JanieGood job doing STS disc 4. Which rotation are you doing? the one month or the 3 month? Wow you got lots of snow, I hope you are keeping your self warm.

Cheryl I know what you mean with that mess after the snow melts, not for much longer though winter is almost over. Great job doing AfterBurn I have done it only once but I did love it.

Pam If you taste your ankle wrap it to keep it stable, OMG so much to do after a little vacation, before we left I did clean the house did laundry, and everything was nice, but 5 min after we got in the house was stuff all over the place and so lazy to put stuff away, or getting up from bed, but it has to be done, I did groceries and some cleaning, also I had being busy calling my mom, sisters, I got invited to a wedding this Sep. my nephew is getting married so I'm excited about it and planning, started my savings so I can take Rachel and Stacy with me, its going to be a little hard because is right when we return to the states but I got the OK from Kenny.
What sort of rotation are you doing? Good job doing LIS LIC how did your ankle did? I haven't try it anymore.

Julie Sorry about the pain in your calves, if that were DOMS we will be like Hurray! but pulling a muscle is more painful and nothing fun. Take care girl.

Well it is hard going back to normal, geez I did my first workout yesterday I did Body Max 2 and oh boy!! it was hard, I had to pause a couple of times, I didn't even finished I stopped right on the weight section, I felt so sick of my stomach:eek: but oh well.
Today I did 4DS LIC just the step portion and finished the weight part from yesterday, I was sweating buckets, and I had to lower my weight with shoulders and biceps, at the end my arms felt like rubber, weak, and I'm sooooo hungry now.
Also I did download the 3 month Jan rotation beginning Monday. I need a good kick. I'm glad the summer vacation is almost over, DH is going back to work in 2 more weeks and the girls are going back to school next month I think Feb the 6th. I'm going to miss not being able to sleep till late:eek:
Well my ladies have a great day.

Julie Oh no, what the heck is going on with your calves? Take care of them, that doesn't sound good. I think resting them sounds like a really good idea. I'm glad you have an upper body workout on the schedule. How did it go with the versa grips for you? I hope they helped! Does your DH like seafood? Seafood and veggies seem like the easiest way to do a healthy meal plan to me, but it will be hard if he doesn't like those things. He may be eating a lot of chicken......

Janie I'm glad to hear that your power was restored. It's tough when you lose power for long periods of time. We had a hurricane come through several years ago. I was living alone at the time and my power was out for 5 days! I was lucky though because I could go to the Y for showers but I really really missed being able to make myself a cup of tea in the morning  Oh man, ice on top of the snow is not a good thing. It makes all of those branches and power lines so heavy and things start breaking and falling. Be careful and stay inside!!!! Are you going to be getting rain now? They have been talking about that for Seattle I think. Congratulations on your weight loss, that is awesome! I am going to have to read up on the Paleo diet. I have heard of it before but know nothing about it besides the name. I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well on it and what a bonus to have the nice soft skin too! The diet sounds like it would be worth it for that alone!

Cheryl snow, freezing rain and rain doesn't sound like fun at all! I hope you don't get that whole mess! That will make for a nasty commute for sure! Oh 20-25 degrees is sooooo cold. I just hate it when it's that cold. Try to stay warm! Oh yes, I am cursing you and Julie every time I do mountain climbers and spidermans now! ;) How did the last combo go in LIC? I hope you got it down! It's going to take me a few more times to actually feel comfortable with it, but now I feel like I can get there. It's not as bad as trying to do an Amy Bento combo at least :)

Eunice OK wiggly mamma, remember we don't want anything jiggling unless it's jiggling off (right Julie? :D) You'll be back in fighting shape in no time! It's really really bad to be struggling to stay awake when you are driving so sounds like it's better for you to stick with being a passenger most of the time! I almost always take a nap in the car when I am riding for an hour or more. Even if it's only a 10 minute nap. Something about the car just puts me to sleep. OK, how was that red wine?? I want the full report!:D My ankle is improving but I'm not really jumping yet. I had my closest to jumping this morning with Cardio and Weights and that went pretty well, so I will probably venture on to something harder. I don't think I'm ready for Intensity or 40/20 yet though  I'm sorry to hear that your neighbor is not doing any better, I know that doesn't help you to feel any better about it.
Yes, the ankle taping is to keep it stable so that I don't accidentally hurt it again. It works pretty well and it feels really good when it's wrapped! Is the wedding in Mexico? That will be so much fun!!! The rotation I'm doing is the sprained ankle rotation :p Weights one day and some kind of cardio the next. I have just been deciding the morning of or the night before what I'm going to do. I was trying to do Cathe's December rotation but now I've had two false starts on that one. Maybe the third time will be the charm?
Great job on BM2, even if you couldn't finish it all. That is one long and tough workout. Good job on 4DS LIC and weights too.

This morning I did cardio and weights. I figured it was a good test for my ankle since it isn't very high impact. I forgot to tape my ankle but it did fine so we'll see what tomorrow will bring  Boy this week has dragged by, I'm happy it's Friday. DH comes home today after being gone since last Saturday so that will be nice. I am pooped today too because my friends had me over for dinner last night and I had too much wine  It was fun though. Today is the framing inspection for the basement and if it passes drywall on Monday! :D:eek: Everything is coming right along! Have a great Friday ladies!

Pam

Last night I did disc 21, back & biceps. I had no problems with the versa grips and they worked great. I was actually able to lift heavy for my deadlifts this time. Can’t wait to use them again with stiff-legged deadlifts next week. I have good news & bad news. The good news is my calves are feeling better. The bad news is I had the worst night’s sleep yet this week. I woke up around 10 and couldn’t go back to sleep until a little before midnight. Then I woke up again at 12:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep until almost 2. So frustrating. I did get up and do Cycle Max Scrambled Premix though. Now I have a super busy day at work (probably another thing on mind that kept me up last night!)

Janie I’m glad your power came back on so quickly. Have you guys surveyed your house yet to see any damage? Hopefully none. Great news on the diet working! It is always kind of nerve racking yet exciting to try something new but it looks like it is working out for you. The photos look kinda cool but I bet it is scary being that you are living with it. Mudslides are something we don’t get around here. Being that we live on flat land, there isn’t anywhere for the mud to slide. We do get flooding when we have huge amounts of snow melting.

Cheryl Great job on disc 2! I would love to go to the Chicago Roadtrip. It would only be about a 3 hour drive so no airfare. The problem is that I figured the roadtrip and hotel alone would cost around $600 not to mention the cost of the meals not provided plus the drive. I’m trying to figure out a way to convince DH that it is a good idea to spend the money and go. Maybe Pam would prefer we talk about Jeannie hops instead?! Hehehe! It would be nice to have DH work with me on the meal plan but I know he would have no clue where to begin. He is completely clueless when it comes to nutrition. I did get some of it planned out for him and we are going to go over it this weekend and see what he thinks. After that, hopefully it is just tweaking some of the meals from day to day. Spring is only 60 days away!!! Ok maybe 60 is still too long to get excited.

Eunice Great job on BM2 step and 4DS LIS plus finishing out the weight work in BM2! It might take a few more days or even a week to get back what you lost from vacation but the good news is you will get it back. That 3 month STS/LIS rotation looks really good. I know Cheryl is doing that one and I want to do it sometime too. It just looks fun to mix up STS and also include the LIS total body trisets that I love. Normally I would love DOMS but these were painful but only when I flexed my foot or walked up stairs. They are better now so I really think foam rolling although painful helped tremendously. I think my sleeping problem is too much going on in my mind. I wish my brain had an on/off switch. Let’s just say Cathe inspired me to tell you to get to work!

Pam Great job on C&W! I hope your ankle is still holding up tomorrow without the taping. If so, that must be a good sign, right? My calves are much better now. That foam roller is magic (if you can get past the pain). The versa grips worked great! I was so excited that I could go heavy and finish the reps in the sets. I think the problem with helping DH with a meal plan is the veggie part. He likes peas and corn which are only half veggie and he likes broccoli if it has cheese sauce on it. Not very diet friendly. He will eat some seafood but he probably will be eating mostly chicken. I’ve tried hinting at him that he really needs to open his mind when it comes to food especially now.

Have a great day!

Pam Hahaha!! That's a good one I know I was trying to think in which workout does Cathe say that this morning so I would pick that one for today, I couldn't remember though.:p Me too, I do the nap thing every time we go places and also when I'm watching movies at home, Oh now I remember I was telling you about the movies it was "star wars" 4 to 6 I just ordered the 1 to 3 so we will be watching lots of movies...
OH the red wine was good, we had it yesterday with a good steak mmmm it was really good, I told Kenny that we are going to need to go back to get some more it was "Jacob's Creek Cabernet Sauvignon" then I was telling DH about people who drinks red wine have small waist, well the girls over hear me and they were saying that my waist was going to be smaller OMG!! those kids are something, doesn't? we have to be careful.
Be very careful with your ankle or you are going to be out of jumping even longer, I like the name of your rotation,:p
Yes, the wedding is in Cancun I'm crossing fingers and eyes so everything goes well and we can go, its going to be so much fun. I think Cathe's December rotation its going to have to wait and maybe by the time you are ready you might find a new rotation.
Great job doing Cardio & weights, so I'm assuming that your DH wasn't home for a while? I'm glad is Friday for you, hahaha I was having trouble with this morning workout because of the wine I don't know how much is toooo much for you but had the whole bottle between DH and I. Have you done the wedding video yet?
What are you doing with your house?

Julie OMG Julie, I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time with your sleep, maybe is time for a good vacation or time off from work. OOOHHH go to Cathe's Road Trip, Cathe will have the food for you, you don't have to buy food, since the first day till the last one, and if you are driving for 3 hours you won't need that much food, so maybe you can go on the cheap side, I haven't look into but how much are the tickets for the RT? Good job doing disc 21 back/biceps and today cycle max, I'm glad that your calves are so much better, 60 day's till spring not to bad!! Thanks for pushing me. Oh yes you are right its going to take a while for me to get back to where I was, slowly but surely!:D
Have you done the wedding video yet?

CherylSo I heard that you are doing the 3 month rotation, how do you like it? that's what I have in my calendar for the next 3 months. Great job doing disc 2back/biceps I'm glad the week is over you will have the weekend to recharge. Have you done the wedding video yet?

JanieI hope you are keeping your self safe, and congratulations with the weight lost, yayayay!!!! I have done the paleo diet before but not with the same results as yours. Good for you.

This morning I picked Body Max the original of course another tough one I did all the way chest and back I couldn't do the whole thing, OMG those push ups were bad, I hardly did them on my knees, pretty, pretty sore. My whole body is sore, so tomorrow Sunday will be off then hopefully monday I can do disc 16...
well girls have a great day.:D

Tonight I did STS disc 4, back and triceps. I can hear DOM's coming very soon. LOL:) Last night I went to bed early about 1:30 am. I heard a loud crack and something loud hitting the ground and making our house shake. I got up and told Joey. This morning there was half a small tree down and only about 50 feet from me and my bed. All that racket and it was soooo small. Glad I wasn't under it though. Deadly to say the least.

Cheryl, Great job on disc 2 back & tries. Can't wait for Spring too!

Eunice, I'm doing the 3 1/2 STS rotation. Great job on BM2. That's a good one. You'll get back into the swing of things soon. It's OK. Great job on today's 4DS LIC step portion and finished the weight part. Glad to see you are planing on Jan rotation on Mon. Good for you!

Pam, Great job on C&W. When things aren't 100% physically or mentally, days go by so slowly. Happy Day for honey to be coming home. I bet you missed each other. Good to see the the contracting jobs are A OK. Yep, rain rain come our way! Should have some and everything is melting very slowly.

Julie, Great job on last night's disc 21. So glad your calves are better, but so sorry you had insomnia. Also great job on Cycle Max Scrambled Pre. Try and rest tonight, you poor thing.:(

Eunice, Great job on this morning's BM, tough one indeed. Don't worry about not doing the whole thing. It will come, be patient. Enjoy tomorrow for your day off.

Take care,

Janie

Eunice Glad that Kenny is feeling better. It is not fun to be sick especially when you have to travel somewhere. It is nice that your neighbour misses Sam, I guess he couldn't have hurt her too bad. You sure did pick a hard workout for your first one. Don't worry that you didn't finish at least you tried. You will be back in the swing of things in no time. I am in the second week of the 3 month rotation. I do like it but I am thinking that I should throw is some high impact every once in a while so I don't lose the cardio factor.

Pam Well we are back to our normal rain. We didn't get the freezing rain but it sure is still a bit of a mess around here. At least it has warmed up a lot. Ummmm maybe as Julie said we should talk about the Jeannie hops instead :D. Sorry to have jinxed you. I think Julie's not sleeping has rubbed off on me. I didn't sleep at all last night so I had no energy to do a workout today. It was hard enough trying to get through the day at work. Good job on Cardio and Weights, that is always a good workout to get you going. I agree that this week has really dragged by I am so glad that it is over.

Julie Good job on disc 21 and I am glad that the versa grips worked for you. Sorry that you had a really bad night, I think it is rubbing off on me because I had the same kinda sleep that you had. At least you were motivated enough to workout, there was no way I had the energy to do that. Hopefully you can convince DH that it would be money well spent for you to go to the roadtrip. It is so close to you and you may never get this chance again. We will probably jinx her on the Jeannie hops too :D. Hopefully DH will learn something on nutrition so he can do some of his meals himself. 60 days until Spring is still a ways off. Maybe we can start counting down when we get to 30.

Well I didn't sleep last night and I couldn't get the energy up to do my workout today. Oh well I will workout tomorrow. I am just glad that the week is over.

Cheryl

Last night’s sleep was much better. Maybe it was because I got to sleep in until 5:30 this morning. That’s when Maggie decided I needed to get up to feed her. She doesn’t always wake me up in the mornings but since she has been on her diet, she has been getting me up to get fed. Poor hungry girl. :( Anyway, after I fed her, I did Maximum Intensity Strength. Sad to say but I was wiped out after the first section, legs. I made it through though. Now I need to do some cleaning and running errands.

Eunice Great job on Body Max! Good job for sticking with it as long as you could. It is such a long workout to finish completely. The cost of the roadtrip is $300 plus 2 night’s hotel stay would be another $300. Cathe said that this roadtrip would be different in that they are only providing 2 meals instead of all of them. So unless I want to starve myself (might be a good way to lose a few pounds! :p), I will have to buy meals. Also, if I went, I know DH would want to come and stay with me in the hotel room so I would need to get his meals too. I’m just not sure what to do. I haven’t talked to DH yet so who knows.

Janie Great job on disc 4! I have great DOMS from my back and biceps workout Thursday night. I can really feel it in my lats which is great because I can hardly ever feel DOMS there. OMG! How scary to have the tree falling right outside your bedroom. I’m glad it didn’t hit your house. It looks like so far you guys have been pretty lucky and not getting too much damage.

Cheryl Sorry my sleeping problems have worked their way over to you. I hate not getting good sleep because then I lay thinking that muscles are supposed to grow when you sleep and if I can’t sleep they won’t grow and then I just get more frustrated and still can’t sleep. I’m still thinking about convincing DH to go. It is the week before my birthday and the week after our anniversary so maybe I can use those two things to convince him. Deal, we’ll start counting down in 30 more days. Right now Spring feels so far away since we just got 3 more inches of snow last night and maybe more today.

Have a great day!

Julie Glad that you got a better nights sleep, I did as well. 5:30 is early for a weekend at least my guys let me sleep in until 6 . Miximum Intensity Strength was one of my first Cathe purchases. I remember being really strong after doing it for a while. Maybe you can convince DH to go since it is between your anniversary and your birthday. You can tell DH that it would be a birthday present you will remember forever. Yes our Spring countdown will start with 30 days to go. You got 3 inches in snow and we probably got that in rain yesterday. A lot of the snow is gone now and we are back to our warm and wet weather.

Today was Athletic Training. For some reason I find that one harder than Afterburn. Then it was housework, laundry and errands. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cheryl

Janie Great job doing sts disc 4 back/biceps I hope those DOMS are not to too laud :p JK I know we like them to be screaming at us. How scary about the tree I'm glad you are fine. I thought you were doing the one month rotation, how is it? I didn't really study the rotation I was kind of desperate so I over looked at it and say, this is it, just do it I know some of the workouts I'm not that crazy about them but I can always sub them.

CherylI think the HiiT workout once in a while is a good idea, well at least I have something planed for the next 3 months if anything I don't like it or I'm not good at it, (new workouts) I will sub them. So how is the weather? is it getting any better? I'm glad that your sleep got better by Saturay I hope stay like that for a long time. Great job doing Athletic Training, I don't remember much about that one I'd done it only once but AB its a hard one too, when I did it last time doing the plank running men kicking under the leg I kicked my chin I still have a little purple.

JulieI'm glad that you had a better sleep too, great job doing Maximum Intensity Strength one of my favorites ones I love the oldie workouts. I know that feeling of being wiped out, but you did good! Wow all those errands are going to be another workout!:p Wow!! I was reading about the RT and you are right Cathe did some changes, that is not fun:confused: having only 2 meals only I guess economy really is affecting all those changes, you should deff use those 2 reasons for getting a ticket to the RT tell your DH that is for both of you guys since he can come to the trip maybe there will be something else to do.

Pam I hope you are doing good, its weird when you don't come to chat with us...

Well yesterday was an easy day, no workout just a little cleaning, I was doing vacuum and DH told me to go sit down to relax, because that's all I do every day his being helping around the house and taking Sam for walks but yesterday was weird I even told him that I needed something to drink if he wanted me to relax and he did open another bottle of wine, sweat one though and only one glass, then I spoke to my mom cook diner and my day was over, the girls watched a movie but I just can't stay awake I slept half through the movie.
Today Monday I got up 7:30 (i'm progressing hahahaha) and did the first workout of the rotation it was STS disc 16 chest/shoulders/triceps I really hated the triceps workout today I was pretty weak, I did lower my weight for 3 exercises I was running out of fuel but I did manage to completed, I was dreaming with the workout I think I was a little worried.
I'm waiting on my little sister, she is 3 years younger then I. I just started to talk to her again after 16 years we lost contact for such a long time so last week we spoke over FaceTime once and another day we chatted over FaceBook she told me that maybe today we could do it again. So I have FB on just in case it was nice to see her and get to talk to her:D.
Something crazy happening right now in the house is DH wants to get retired in Alaska:confused::eek: I know him, he is always talking about places where to live and I always say yes to everything so did I for this one, and I'm getting a little worried now because he is a little bit more serious about it. mmmm! I think I'd a mistake:eek: we'll see.
Have a great day ladies:p:D

Hi ladies, I'm here, sorry I didn't get to post over the weekend!
Julie Great job on disc 21. I'm glad that you didn't have any problems with the versa grips and that they helped you out! Great job on cycle max scrambled pre-mix too. I was thinking about you this morning and the pain you were having in your calves and your problems with sleeping and I'm wondering if maybe you are overtraining. You haven't had a break in quite a while and that may be what is going on. Just my 2 cents, but you may need to take several days to a week of just doing some stretching and yoga. Of course I could be totally wrong, but I have been there before and taking some time off really helped. I saw Cathe announce the Chicago roadtrip, but of course it is the one weekend in April that I have plans already. I have a girls weekend at the beach. Of course now DH is saying hmmmmmm....maybe HE should go on the roadtrip  Hey, I like your idea of talking about the Jeannie Hops instead. If it works the same way maybe I will start LIKING them then! ;) Hahahahaha, broccoli doesn't really count if you eat it with cheese sauce, huh? It sounds like you have your work cut out for you with the healthy meal plan!

Eunice You know I can't remember which workout that is that Cathe says that either. I was thinking it might be Drill Max, but I don't think that is right....hmmmmm....Oh yes, I sleep through pretty much every movie we try to watch at home. I have even fallen asleep in the theater once or twice  It sounds like your Star Wars movies will be alot of fun to watch. Well there is just nothing like a good steal with a nice red wine. I'm pretty sure that you can get Jacob's Creek over here too. Funny funny kids!
Oh, it will be so much fun to go to a wedding in Cancun. I hope that works out for you, it is so gorgeous there! DH was gone all week last week. He left at 7 am Saturday morning and didn't get home until Friday night. He was glad to be home! I haven't done the wedding video yet. I thought about doing it this morning, but I am going to give the ankle a little more time before I try it. Maybe this weekend. We are getting our basement finished, so all kinds of stuff going on and all kinds of stuff to pick out! It's fun and exciting though.
I guess we were thinking alike because I did the original Body Max on Saturday too. I only did the first 2 sections though, not the upper body because I had done my weights the day before.

Janie Great job on disc 4! Wow, that must have been so scary hearing that tree fall. I'm so glad that it didn't fall on your house! I hope your weather is improving!

Cheryl I'm glad you didn't get the freezing rain, that is such a mess! It rained here all day on Saturday, but at least it was fairly warm - in the 60's. Yesterday it was cold! We are just up and down and up and down. Like I told Julie, I think you should start talking about the Jeannie hops and then maybe I will start liking them?! You never know! Sorry to hear you are having sleeping issues again. That is so annoying!

Julie Wow, you got to sleep all the way until 5:30 huh? you lucky girl you! ;):p Awww, poor Maggie on her diet, how is she doing? Has so lost any weight? Great job on MIS, that is a tough one for sure!

Cheryl Great job on AT. That first section always gets me on that one, it is such a leg burner!

Eunice OMG, I can't believe you kicked yourself in the chin! OUCH! I am not flexible enough to do that so that is not something I need to worry about at least :p
Yes, sorry I didn't get here to chat this weekend, we were busy running around town trying to pick stuff out for the basement.
Well isn't that nice that DH is helping out around the house. I know what you mean about having a hard time relaxing. Any time I am not doing something I am thinking about everything I should be doing  Funny that you are starting to enjoy your wine.... :D
Great job on disc 16, funny that you were dreaming about the workout. I sometimes have dreams that I'm trying to workout but something keeps interfering with me getting started. I also sometimes have dreams that I am doing a step workout and the floor is so squishy and bouncy that I just can't do it. Strange how our minds work huh?
That is very exciting that you and your little sister are getting back in touch. Where does she live? OMG, you need to talk your DH out of Alaska. I could never live there with all of the cold and snow. It's supposed to be just beautiful, but I need my warm weather! My DH talks about getting an RV and traveling around when we retire. I don't think I'd like that so much either:confused:

So Saturday morning the ankle was feeling pretty good so I decided to do the original Body Max. I didn't do the upper body portion, just the step and the drills. It was great, the ankle had no problems at all. I think I am going to be ready for higher impact soon. Yea!:D Then Saturday we went running around looking at carpet, tile, vanities, faucets, lights, etc. We have the carpet narrowed down to 2 choices, have the tile picked out for the bathroom and have the shower faucet and bathroom vanity picked out. I'm so happy, but it still seems like there is a lot to do. This morning a big truck pulled up at 7:15 am full of dry wall and the guys were also there to start doing the insulation. We didn't pass the framing inspection on Friday though, so I don't think they can start doing the drywall until that passes. We have a garage door in the unfinished part of our basement which apparently is not in code. When we built the house the builder put a temporary wall there for the inspection and then put the garage door up after it passed. It turns out it was the same inspector and he remember that there was no garage door there before! So now they are putting up another temporary wall and taking the garage door down just to pass the inspection. It's so silly because the inspector will know that the garage door is going back up after it passes  Crazy stuff. OK, I need to get some work done. I hope everyone has a great day!

Yesterday was lazy day Sunday but I did take time out to do Yoga Relax. This morning I slept in to save my strength for disc 22, chest, shoulders, and triceps.

Cheryl Great job on Athletic Training! I think the first ½ to ¾ of Athletic Training is harder than Afterburn. Once most of the combo moves are done with, my heart rate starts to level off. But Athletic Training and Afterburn are definitely my top two faves out of the new series. Well we are getting rain today. In fact, when I let Maggie out this morning I was shocked to see all of the snow had melted off our deck. I guess we got thunder last night too. This certainly has been one weird winter. Not that I am complaining or missing the negative temperatures and several feet of snow! :p

Eunice Great job on disc 16! I always feel weak on the last few exercises but I think it because they work the smaller muscles like triceps and those muscles are usually assisting the larger muscle moves. Plus towards the end I am just tinkering out. Sounds like your rest day was a pretty good one. Hmmm! I don’t think I would be agreeing to move to Alaska. I’m sure it is beautiful there but I could not handle the cold or the fact that during the winter, they only get like an hour or two of daylight. DH and I are talking about retiring to the Oregon coast or maybe South Carolina. We want somewhere the weather stays pretty stable throughout the year without much if any snow.

Pam Great job on BM (minus the ub work)! Looks like you got a lot done on Saturday but I understand about feeling like there is just so much more to do. Thanks for the concern on overtraining. I think we need each other to look out for ourselves because it is hard to see it in ourselves. I’m not sure I am overtraining yet. I have one more week of Meso 2 and then I do my active recovery week so that should help. I really think my problem is not being able to shut my brain off. I have a lot going on at work plus DH’s nutrition. I think I am overthinking things and trying to plan too much and it is causing me to lose sleep. I think Maggie has lost a little weight but she probably has a couple of more weeks to a month on her diet. I hate making her diet but it is for her own good. Now if I could get someone to make me diet for my own good!

Have a great day!

Hi Pam I'm glad your back!! Its funny how your DH is thinking about the RT, is that close to you? I don't remember where do you live now? It will be good to go if you can of course.
What's going on with us?? we are just having a good time napping every chance we have, that's good!!!! I still don't remember the dvd where Cathe say that, weird!! I hope your ankle is doing a la better so you can try the wedding video. I guess going shopping for house stuff is fun, what are you planing for the basement? are you building the men's cave for DH? hahahaha!!:p Wow how did you do that one the Body Max workout step its a very jumpy I even was having trouble with that one, great job doing that one.
Very funny huh? about kicking my self all by my self! very painful too. What a dreams I think your dream is funnier about trying to do step. Very strange about me liking wine.;):(
I know I'm very excited about my sister, she live is Playa del Carmen in Cancun, I think so too, DH is scaring me about the move to Alaska he say that there we don't have to pay taxes for I don't know what kind of things and its pretty and nice. So I told him that first we have to visit the place and see how do we like it. I think the RV is a little bit more doable because you just use it to go visit places then go back to your house. Looks like you are pretty busy with your house project that's a lot of work with the inspection and very confuse with that guy.

Julie Having a lazy day is good too, of course for me I can't wait to go back to normal with my routine it looks like all this summer its being a lazy day every day so far, very boring. Great idea about saving the energy for tonights workout, have fun! I'm getting pretty scare about Alaska, we'll see and hopefully I can change his mind we still have time to change our mind and look for another place to retired. I'm glad your recovery week is coming over soon, take it easy... Poor Maggie doing diet, I'd being feeding Sam only once per day he still a pretty big boy and very strong and soooooo cute too.

Today I woke up pretty sore my shoulders and the chest arms are pretty sore, that's what I get for not working out for a while I hope its all for a good reason maybe this time around I'll get the arms/shoulders that I want:D;) so today I did Trisets from the new series lower body it was good I think I'm getting so much better now I just have to stick to the eat clean and I'll be good to go, now I have the wedding in September in Cancun to look forward so I'm so excited about.
Well have a great day every one.:D

Eunice Our weather is warmer but now all it does is rain. At least you don't have to shovel it :p. Wow you kicked your chin  you must be really flexible because I can't get my leg anywhere up that far :D. Good job on disk 16. We sometimes have those days where you don't feel very strong. Don't worry you will be lifting heavy again soon. Nice that you got in touch with your sister again. 16 years is a long time to lose contact. Where does she live? I think you have to find a way to discourage your DH from moving to Alaska. It is a very nice place but it gets very very cold there. I think you would like something a bit warmer.

Pam Maybe we should start talking about the Jeannie hops so you will like them more :D. Sleeping issues is never a lot of fun. I wish I could go back to the days where I could sleep through the night without a problem. The first section in AT is what gets me too. My legs are screamin' by the end. Nice that you ankle is doing better so you could do Body Max. You had a busy weekend picking out new things for your basement. Sorry that you didn't pass the framing inspection. I guess even though the inspector knows the garage door is going back up it is what he actually sees to pass the inspection. What happens afterwards he has no control over ;).

Julie It is nice to have a lazy day every once in a while. Good job on yoga relax. I think the first part of AT is harder than afterburn. Those combo moves really get you. Well at least you don't have to shovel rain. Hopefully it will be a mild winter for you.

Yesterday was yoga and today was STS disk 25 Chest and Back. That is one where I do need to do it in the evening when I am feeling stronger.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Sorry for being MIA. I've been so busy that time got away from me. Mostly cleaning our house here in the woods. Then of course doing Disc 5, legs yesterday and today treadmill on 3.5 for 30 min., with an incline.

I'll get back tomorrow,

Janie

Julie Great job on Yoga relax on Sunday and I'm sure you did great with disc 22 last night. My biggest problem with picking all of the stuff out is that I really only have one day I can do it - Saturday since a lot of places aren't open on Sunday. Some of them aren't even open on Saturday. We are getting there though. Just be careful and pay attention to what your body is telling you. It seems totally counter to what we all know and of course taking a rest can be the hardest thing to do sometimes, but they can make a big difference. Of course you know your body and what is going on in your life better than anyone so it could just be all of those other stressors affecting you. Oh for a stress free life, huh? Poor Maggie, it must be so hard to put a dog on a diet because there is no way for them to understand.

Eunice Oh DH is just joking about the RT. He says that would be his chance with Cathe when I'm not around  We live in North Carolina near Raleigh. It looks like we could've just looked at Julie's signature line to see which Cathe dvd has that quote....she has it quoted from High Step Training. Yes, the basement is basically going to be a big man cave. Stone fireplace, home theater, bar and poker table. I may never see my DH upstairs again once it is finished! ;) Body Max wasn't hard on my ankle at all. It doesn't have an much jumping as some of the other dvds so I figured it would be a good test. I wish you had a video of kicking yourself in the chin. I hate to laugh at your pain, but it is pretty funny!
I think you are smart to tell your DH you will need to visit somewhere before deciding to live there. And for Alaska, you need to visit during the coldest and darkest part of the winter! I think there are warmer places to go and not pay taxes.
Good job on the Trisets, I really like that one! You need to get those arms and shoulders all ready for a sexy dress for the wedding in Mexico! :D;)

Cheryl My biggest sleeping issue is that I wake up almost every night to go to the bathroom  It is so annoying. Yep, getting through all of the leg work at the beginning of AT is a bear. I am always talking to Cathe during that one! Yes, I guess the inspector just has to cover himself, so that if anything were to happen he would be able to say that he hadn't approved it like that.
Great job on yoga and disc 25! I didn't get any yoga in this weekend :(

Janie Great job on clean max, disc 5 and treadmill on an incline! You are doing so great! Are you getting all thawed out? That is always such a big mess when that much snow starts to melt. I hope you are doing well!

This morning I looked at the calendar and 40/20 was on it. I wasn't sure if the ankle was ready for that yet so I decided to test things out with 30/30. I forgot about how much jumping there is in that one too - air jacks, plyos, tuck jumps, but it went great. It didn't bother the ankle at all. So if it is still feeling and looking good tonight I think I will be ready for almost anything. Yea! :D Have a great day everyone!

Last night I did disc 22, chest, shoulders, and triceps which is the last chest workout for meso 2 (I still have legs and back/biceps to do this week). I hate that the last workout of meso 2 sneaks pushups and triceps pushups into the workout. I couldn’t do any of the triceps pushups on my toes and could barely do 7 on my knees in the third set while Cathe pumped out 28!! Anyway, this morning was 30/30. It was not quite as hard as 40/20 but still reminded me how important doing HiiT on a regular basis is.

Eunice Great job on TBT Lower Body! I really like that one. So it seems like your body is reminding you with those lovely DOMS how good working out feels! A wedding in Cancun sounds really nice. Plus it will give you an incentive to really eat clean. I think eating clean is the hardest part but I know you can do it. You are much better at controlling your carb intake than me. I just love them too much! I like your idea about visiting Alaska to see if you like it first. Of course, since their weather varies so much you might have to go once in the summer and once in the dead of winter just to make sure!

Cheryl Great job on yoga and disc 25! Oh yes, Meso 2 & 3 are definites for doing them in the evening. I need the energy reserves plus I need DH to spot me. Last night I couldn’t get all my reps in during the incline bench press and thank goodness DH was spotting me to get the bar back on the rack. Yes that is true you don’t have to Shovel rain, although I do worry it will turn to ice on the roads and sidewalks. So far we have been very lucky with the mild winter.

Janie Great job on disc 5, legs and the treadmill for 30 min with an incline! I was always so bad about not adding an incline to my workouts on the treadmill but that can make a big difference. No problem not checking in. I’m glad to hear from you though because I was kind of worried that maybe another tree fell or something else happened with all that snow you had gotten. Seems like you were just got carried away doing Clean Max!

Pam Great job on 30/30! So glad the ankle made it through. I would say you are probably in the clear if all goes well the rest of the day. It is almost like getting a medical clearance to go full force now! I do try to keep a close eye on how I am feeling because I don’t want to get to the point of overtraining. I have been there before and don’t want to go back. I get this way when there are so many projects and deadlines coming up. I stress out about them internally and it throws my sleeping way out of whack. I think things will calm down in a couple weeks. That is when 2 of my projects will be done and I just have one more left. Yep, like you said, Maggie probably has no idea why she is being fed pureed green beans and carrots with only ½ of her regular food. Plus she has been getting less treats and I know she is starving because she is starting to drool when we get food ready which is something she never did before. (Oops, I didn’t know what quote you and Eunice were trying to figure out or I could have helped. Sorry about that!)

Have a great day!

Cheryl Nice to know that the weather is improving on your side, I bet you can wait for those nice long warm days where you can spend most of your time out side, I don't know if I'm flexible or I didn't explain my self the exercise is the one we do the climbing mountain but instead of bringing our knee in we kick to the side, :D I'm sure you being doing that better than me because you having kick your self yet:p I can't wait to lift heavy again I think I did pretty good with the weight I was supposed to do I had to lower with the last set of bench press instead of 57Lb I did 52Lb that is a lot of difference but next time I hope I can get to where I was. I know 16 years is a long time but good that now we can speak and see each other... I think so too, I don't know what's going on in that head of my DH, sometimes I think he wants to be like those people who goes far away from the civilization sometimes I tell him that I might go and visit him wherever place he choose to live at. I want a place with the 4 seasons of the year that's what I told him.
Great job doing Yoga and disc 25 chest/back I haven't try to workout in the afternoon the day of weights I don't think it'll make that much of a difference for me.

Pam OMG your hubby is funny about trying to get with Cathe. :D It does looks pretty nice and a very big city where you live at. I knew that, tuturrrrrr:D why I didn't think off. Oh well I'm working my way up again... Wow!! your DH must be really happy about the project of his man's cave, are you going to be allowed? or do you have a project for your self? that would be fun..I'm very glad that your ankle is soooooo much better, you recuperated faster than I did and your injure sound a lot more worse then mine I remember taking longer than you did, I guess I'm a chicken:p Good at least I can make you laugh, but there is no video of my self doing that I think I have some others ones, pretty funny ones!!! FUNNY I cannot stop laughing of my self on those. I was telling Cheryl that maybe I didn't explained my self the exercise is the mountain climber but instead of bringing the knee in we kick to the sides, so who knows maybe you have done it with better success then I.:p I wanted to go to a place where we can see all 4 seasons of the year, not only two so I'm going to have to throw a hissy fit and see if he change his mind. What other states have that same about the taxes? Of course I have to work pretty hard for those nice shoulders mine are very stubborn.
OMG!!!! I's so glad that your ankle in so much better if you did 30/30 I think you are going to be all good to go. Hopefully everything goes well this afternoon so you can start again doing what you like to do the most HiiT.

Julie Good job doing disc 22 chest/shoulders/triceps yahoo!!! you are almost done with meso 2 if you did the triceps pushups on your knees that is great, I don't think I can't do much of those either, and more when you are at the very end of the workout when you are flat. Of course Cathe is awesome.
Good job doing 30/30. OMG my body is reminding me that and more it feels good though. Well I think if you want you can do very good with the carbs too, yesterday I baked a chocolate cake for the fam it was gluten free/weathe free/ yeast free but I didn't have a piece I had a lot of bread when we were in our little vacation but not anymore. I have other kind of carbs so I think if you want to can do it. (just think of the poor Maggie) hahahaha!!!!

JanieI'm glad that you are fine, just busy working cleaning your house.. take care.

Well today I did the cardio super sets? I think that's the name I haven't memorized all the names of the new workouts anyways it was a good one I don't remember if I did it before or not but the last set of the planks where something serious, legs to the side then knee in... OMG I have big DOMS my butt and hamstrings are killing me it is really hard go to the bathroom or bend down whew!!! But its a good sore!:p Then I did some cleaning and now I'm taking Brandy to the dentist.
Have a great day every one.:D

Made a mistake about recording my workouts. Disc 5 is not legs, I meant to say Disc 6 legs. Today I did another treadmill workout, 20 min. at 3.4 mph and an incline of 2.6. Also when I began the Paleo diet, I lost so much weight the first week, now it's hardly moving. As I read the diet book, you are not aloud starchy veges. I've been eating sweet potatoes and yam. I was so mad at myself for doing so! It's a no no because of their starch. No wonder I haven't been losing. Didn't gain, but now to move on ahead and lose more weight. I really put on the pounds during the holidays. Also my skin continues to get better. The skin tags I have are almost gone, just a few more to go and I'll have clear beautiful skin for a 60 year old. Also I'm thinking it's good for my GERD. I'll have to test it out. Tonight I won't be taking any meds. I cut out DGH and Papaya Enzyme today. Let's see how that goes. I'm hoping I wont' have to take any meds at all. We'll see. Cross your fingers for me. We've been watching Breaking Bad, man is that a great show! It's like Dexter in that we root for these two men. LOL

Pam, We are getting thawed out, but very slowly. It's been raining cats and dogs and very high winds in most areas. We are lucky there too. We live in a kind of a bowl. And the wind just goes around that bowl and it seems we miss out on all the dangerous high winds. We are very fortunate so far. We will try to venture out tomorrow or the next day. We'll see. We still have lots and lots of snow, but we always do when a snow storm hits us. We are the last ones to get back to normal. Great job on 30/30. Very wise to test it out on that one instead of 40/20. I'm so glad it went well for you.

Julie, Great job on disc 22, chest shoulders and triceps. I don't like so much pushups either, but...I always have to modify anyway. You are better at them than me. Great job this morning on 30/30. I agree, Hiit workouts are very important. Thank you so much for your concern. I'm alive and kicking and giving Joey a boost every now and and then.:D

Cheryl, Great job on the yoga and STS disc 25 chest and back. You are really getting in there aren't yoo? Very proud of us! We are doing it!

Eunice, Great job on cardio Super Sets. Planks are good and hard to do. Enjoy your DOM's:rolleyes:. Looks like you failed the toilet test. That's good!

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Great job on disc 22 and 30/30. Oh yea, that is sneaky of Cathe putting those pushups into that last week isn't it? You feel like you're home free after meso 1 and then all of a sudden there they are again! I can't do ANY tricep pushups on my toes usually. Errrrr....!
OK, it sounds like you just gave me clearance to go full force, thanks! :p;)Sorry to hear you have so much stress right now, I'm glad to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel at least. Aww, poor Maggie, drooling :( It's almost as hard on you as it is on them, isn't it?
Has your DH started his healthy meal plan?

Eunice I do like North Carolina a lot. One of the reasons I like it is because we have 4 seasons but the winters are usually pretty mild. A lot of people don't like the hot humid summers, but I love them. I'm not sure where you can get 4 seasons and the good taxes too. Everywhere I know of with low taxes is in the south and pretty much warm all of the time. I would take warm all of the time over Alaska though! Yes, even though we seem to be building a man cave, this was supposedly my Christmas present. I told him and the kids that means that the basement is mine and they will need to get special permission to come down there :p I bet that's going to work ;) My ankle still has pain to the touch and just around the ankle bone itself it's still bigger than usual, but taping it really really helps for working out. I'm sure if I went to see a doctor they would tell me not to, so I just don't go...
I think I know which exercise you are talking about where you kicked yourself in the chin and I know there is no way I would ever be able to get my leg up that high. So I guess that is one injury I don't have to worry about!
Great job on CSS. That is a good one and you are right, those planks are killers. Sorry to hear you are failing the toilet test! Hope it is getting better now! By the way, do you know if Astrid got her package yet? I realized that I left one of the discs in my computer, so I will send that to her along with the calendar.

Janie No worries about the mistaken disc number. I a pretty sure I have reported the wrong number before too. Great job on disc 6 then! Great job on your treadmill work too! Oh no, that is frustrating about the starchy veggies. Hopefully now that you are cutting them out you will start losing weight again. And great job on that clear and beautiful skin, that is just wonderful. I hope it does help with your GERD too!
Oh we are watching Breaking Bad too! We just love it. We tried watching Dexter but could never really get into it, but Breaking Bad is so good. We are only about halfway through the second season so far. I'm not sure how many seasons there have been though. I'm glad to hear that you are protected from the high winds. That can be so scary and dangerous! Just be careful and take it easy when you do venture out.
I guess the rain is helping to melt all of the snow but it sounds like even more of a flooding danger. I hope you don't have to worry about flooding now.

This morning for me was TBT Lower Body only. It is a good quick one. I was feeling like I should add something else on, but couldn't think of anything I wanted to do so I didn't . Tonight we are going to see the musical Memphis. I don't know anything about it, but we got free tickets from Yelp so can't beat that! Have a great day everyone!
