Strength in Numbers

This morning I did the Total Body Trisets Total Body Premix. 86 minutes of pure fun! It was super tough and I have to say I was a little proud of myself by the end. I upped my weight on two of the leg exercises. I still hate those soldier plank/pushups. I feel really unstable when I try to lift my arm and leg at the same time. I guess that is the challenge. After that, DH and I did some grocery shopping and the whole house cleaning. Now it is time to get to baking my cookies and making the desserts for Christmas tomorrow.

Eunice Great job on STS Total Body! I love that one and I bet you are going to be enjoying some wonderful total body DOMS. That's good that the heat seems to be better this year. The humidity must be staying low too so that your floors are staying dry. What is a humingbird cake?

Cheryl Great job on Cardio Supersets! I'm sorry your neighbors are moving. It is always sad to have close friends move away. I agree, I would rather try to do the pull-ups than have to do all those pushups. Right now I am not too worried about what I look like but more of how I feel and trying to make sure that I am doing workouts that I enjoy. But after the new year, I will probably try to watch what I eat a little more closely and see what happens.

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Days keep running into each other. So sorry for not posting yesterday. I truly thought I did. Still sick with a cold and didn't workout. Doing a Zentangle for Joey's Christmas present. Almost done with it. Zentangle is a bunch of doodling that forms into unique patterns. Should be done with it tonight and will take a photo of it to share.

Cheryl, I know how it is, not easy to get up. Starting to think that easy things aren't so easy any more and life is a tad harder. But that's life I guess. I'm grateful that there were calendars left. Using it for my plan of attach on my weight and nutrition. Hopefully can start it right after Christmas and will have to wait for the calendar to get here. That's OK something more inspiring to look forward to. Yea! You are on vacation until the 3rd. ENJOY yourself.

Eunice, I saw your beautiful cookies of FB. Nummy Yummy:p! Are you and hubby OK, will you two continue to workout together? I hope so. Once my Joey and I (years and years ago) got in a fight and quit working out together. It took years before we worked out together again. Older age brought us back to exercise and we will continue I'm sure until we simply can't do them any longer. Don't let that happen to you guys. It's important to continue exercising together. It's a huge motivator. I'm hoping you will have a great Summer with each other. Hang in there kiddo. Fights don't last but a short time. It will get better. Try to think of it this way, if you can. You both are individuals and you are learning a lot from each other. That's what I do when we have harsh words. We always will have words, but as life continues on, it's less and less of them. Take advantage of the makeups you will have. (((((Hugs & prayers))))).

Pam, The heater turned out to be more of a problem than we thought. Joey was able to get the two parts. He brought over the water heater to work on it here. All his hard work on this project is working out. Yea! I love the sharing of food when celebrating Christmas or any big event. It makes things so much easier and more enjoyable. Thank for your review on the Girl with the dragon tattoo. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Great job on SW. Enjoy the golfer party, I bet it will be a success.

Julie, Congratulations on finishing Meso 1 with disc 11 back& triceps. Sorry about the pull ups, they are sooooooo darn hard! But, you can do it. Makes a stronger Julie for sure.:) OMG! What better way to take advantage of insominia and do a Spinning DVD. Were you able to go back to sleep after that? If not hope you can catch up on your rest tonight. I'll take your advice once my cold settles a bit. It is a doozy. Will be doing more workouts after Christmas.

Take care,

Janie

Continuing on:

Eunice, Enjoy STS 1, that will definitely give you a good kick. Enjoy making the hummingbird cake. Pictures please? It sounds so lovely. One of my most favorite birds in the whole world. The other one are pelicans.

Cheryl, So sorry about your neighbors moving. That is such a bummer. Try to keep in touch with them as often as you can. Great job on CS. Love the Sweat bath, don't you? I need to also do some housework, but I'm not today, just going to rest. Glad you are keeping up with everything at Christmas time.

Julie, Great job on TBT pre. Wow, that is 86 min? You should be very proud of yourself for such a long and not so easy workout. Good for you! I am not surprised that you had to up your weight on some exercises. You are doing so well. Congratulations on that! Seems eveyone is doing house cleaning these days. Christmas and visitors are great motivations.:) Enjoy baking cookies and making desserts for tomorrows festivities.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. Love each other and stay healthy, enjoy everything and everyone around you.

Janie

This morning was After Burn. I thought I needed it since Christmas is tomorrow and my eating won't be all that good. Tomorrow will be a yoga DVD.

Julie Way to go on the Total Body Trisets Total Body Premix. I was thinking of doing that one on Monday. The soldier plank/pushups are tough. I struggle with keeping my balance on those as well. I need to watch what I eat more in the new year too.

Janie Sorry that you are still sick with a cold. It is not fun being sick any time but especially this time of the year since there is so much stuff going on. You will have to post pictures of Joey's Zentangle, it sounds interesting. I am glad that you got a calendar, it will help you keep on track.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Here is the photo of a zentangle I promised to share for Joey's Christmas present. Odd I know, but it is an art form. I hope he will like it. If he doesn't I'll put it in my bedroom at the beach house or save it as a beginning piece of zentangles. This is just an ordinary one, you should see the ones that people are experienced at with this art. Joey's name is in this. (Joey) Can you see it? It's more detailed in person, the photo just doesn't bring it to life. Also however a person looks at it, upside down, or sideways...and see's something interesting, then that's the way to hang it up.

Cheryl, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!
So glad I got a calendar just for that purpose. Fantastic doing AB. Very smart of you.

Have a fun and an outrageous Christmas.

Julie great job on disc 11! Bummer that you still have pull ups to look forward to in meso 2, but just think about how much stronger they are making you! Great job on your spinning DVD too! I know what you mean about getting used to sleeping in. I get used to it when I'm on vacation and it takes awhile to get back into it agin when I go back to work.

Eunice that is so funny, that is what I always tell my DH, that I may be tough but I'm also delicate!
I think it would be great if Brandy sticks with her idea of being a dentist, it is a great job! No DD has not gotten a scholarship, I told her she would have to get one of she plans to go to an out of state school. I here you and DH are past your rou time. We had the same thing for a couple of days last week, but are over it now.
Great job on total body STS, I hope you enjoyed your hummingbird cake!

Cheryl I have that feeling more than I would like these days of my body not wanting it to do what I want it to. I often nodded how Cathe do it with all of her working out! I'm usually like that with step workouts too, once I learn them I don't forget them. It can be really frustrating unlike you are learning though!
Too bad that your bootcamp instructor is leaving :( great job on CSS, that is one tough workout!

Julie great job on TBT, such a fun workout. And upping your weight at the end of that one is amazing, it will wear you out! I am with you on those soldier plank/pushes, very hard to keep your balance! Of Course like everything, Cathe and the crew make it look so easy

Janie sorry to hear you are still not feeling well. I hope you are well enough to enjoy your Christmas! That Zentangle is so cool, wow, I have never seen anything like that before! How did you learn to do it? I found the j the o and the y but haven't found the e yet
I'm glad Joey is able to fix the heater!

Cheryl Great jib in AB! another tough one! I sweat buckets when I do it!

Yesterday morning for me was SJP, another of my favs. Then it was mor cooking for last night's big dinner. The party Friday night was a lot of fun and we were able to make some room in the wine cellar ;) Only 11 people for dinner tonight :D I people everyone is having a wonderful wonderful Christmas!

Good morning ladies, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas day! I am so happy to have no big meal to prepare today :) and absolutely nothing planned. I am doing laundry and starting to get the house back together. The turkey roulade last night was so good! Turkey breast butterflied and filled with a cranberry pecan stuffing and rolled. Yum. I was happy to see that the scale was only up a pound this morning too, so should be able to take care of that this week! I got a bosu for Christmas with some bosu DVDs, so this morning I did a Mindy bosu workout and then bosu abs. Wow! So good for working on balance and tough. I think I need to try to incorporate it at least once a week. I felt like such a klutz, I kept falling off! Hopefully that will improve with time. Have a great day everyone!

Pam

We had so much fun during Christmas. I gave some of my web paper jewelry away. I brought all of it over and they went through it and took one set that they really loved. There was even bracelets that the guys picked out. It was great! Joey and I got gift cards from Home Depot, Starbucks and Kolhl's. Very cool! Also one of our son's gave us a door mat with a picture of a beach house with McBride (our last name) on it. And the food was so wonderful! But the family get together was the best of all.

Joey and I did TBS, abs and stretches.

Pam, I feel really good today, nothing to complain about. I saw a Zentangle on the internet that sparked my interest, and decided to investigate it. They tanglepatterns.com or zentan or this one

www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4Nlz4XMxcs

Lots of info on the internet about them.

gives you all kinds of examples/ideas on many different zentangle patterns, and its up to you to use them any way you see fit. They teach how to start them and you get to see many different examples finished. The cool thing about them is you will come up with something different every single time. It's like meditation in a way. Lots of fun and relaxing. You never know yourself what you will come up with. It's really cool. Good job on SPJ, I love that one too. Only 11 people for dinner on Christmas day? I think we had 12, a nice round number. It was a great Christmas this year for me.

It's nice not to have to plan anymore dinners or parties, isn't it? You were so very busy. I also am trying to get the house cleaned up, it's way overdue. OMG! Your dinner sounds like a heaven meal! YUMMY! You are lucky to only put on 1 pound, I won't tell you how many I put on, but going to have to work hard getting it back off. You will absolutely love your Bosu, I have Mindy's workout too and it's great for practicing balance. Once a week doing a balance exercise sounds like a good plan.

Try a zentangle. If you like doing them want to try, starting Jan. 1, 2012, a zentangle a day with me? It could be a lot of fun, and I'd say very interesting. Just a thought. Or maybe once a week? A month, or when you can? Perhaps using 4"X4" or 5"X5" of heavier white paper.

Have a great day of not planning anything and enjoy.

Janie

Janie That zentangle is really cool. I wasn't able to see Joey's name in it but I am really bad with that sort of thing. Nice that you got some gift cards to help you out with your new beach house.

Pam Good job on SPJ. Nice that you got a Bosu and DVDs to go with it. They really do test your balance don't they. You will get better at it, it will just take time to get that balance. Enjoy your day of doing nothing.

Well I tried to do Total Body Trisets Lower Body this morning. I don't know what I did to my back but I was getting some not so nice twinges in my lower back so I decided that I had better just stop. It not fun when you get them with a pair of weights in your hands. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow and I can get back at it.

Happy Monday everyone.

Cheryl

Great news: Joey and I won a Proform 290 SPX Spinning bike on Ebay. It cost us $160.19. WooHoo! The cheapest we saw was at Walmart for $299.54.

Cheryl
, I just added this onto the last post, and didn't want you to miss it just in case you might be interested. "Want to try drawing zentangles, starting Jan. 1, 2012, a zentangle a day with me? It could be a lot of fun, and I'd say very interesting. Just a thought. Or maybe once a week? Once a month or when ever you can?

So sorry about your back hurting. That is not fun at all and I hope you recover very fast from it. (((((Hugs)))))

Janie oh so nice to hear that you had such a lovely Christmas. It sounds like everyone enjoyed looking at your beautiful jewelry and picking a nice treasure too! Love the doormat that you got, how special! I'm really glad that you are feeling better and were able to really enjoy your Chrimstas day with your family too! I'm not sure I can commit to a Zentangle a day or even a week, but perhaps on e a month would be doable!

Cheryl so sorry to hear that your back was giving you problems. You were smart not to push it, that is not something that you want to mess with. I hope it is feeling better soon,

This morning for me was Afterburn, it was supposed to be athletic training, but I guess I read my calendar wrong and I thought it said Afterburn. That's ok with me though since I like AB better anyway. Yesterday was a pretty lazy day. Got the laundry done that has been piling ip, went to the grocery store and cleaned out both freezers. Not sure yet what is on the agenda for today! I hope everyone has a great day!

Pam

Janie Congratulations on your spin bike, that is so exciting what a great price! Did you get Cathe's spinningdvd? If not, it guess that will be on your list now!

Well I didn’t get around to posting Sunday or Monday. I did do Cycle Max Extreme Premix on Sunday and then went to my family’s Christmas get together and then DH’s family in the evening. Monday was lazy day with watching a Friends DVD marathon. This morning I did a spinning.com video called Ultimate Energy.

Janie Wow! You keep amazing me with how creative you are. I had never heard of Zentangles and seeing it now just amazes me. I don’t think I could do anything like that because I just don’t have the patience or creativity in me. Great job on TBS, abs, and stretching with Joey. I’m so glad you had a wonderful time with your family. Spending time together around the holidays is my favorite part too. I would rather have that than all the gifts and food. CONGRATULATIONS on the spin bike! That is an awesome price and Proform is a good company. My treadmill is a Proform and it has last for years (of course it is only used occasionally).

Cheryl Great job on Afterburn! That is a good one to pick to keep your metabolism fired up for all the Christmas indulging. Oh no, I’m sorry about your back. And you didn’t even get to have yoga class this week to help with it. Well hopefully resting it will get it back to feeling good.

Pam Great job on SJP! That is one of my favorite circuit workouts from Cathe. So much variety and so much fun. I’m glad you had fun at your party. What a great gift, a bosu and DVDs to go along with it. I really need to work on my balance too. In fact, I would love Cathe’s next series to have more functional/balance workouts in it. Great job on AB! Sounds like you are having a productive vacation. Keep enjoying your time off.

Have a great day!

Janie Congratulations on winning your spin bike. You really did get a good deal on it. I am not sure if I could commit doing a zentangle a day or even once a week. I may be able to try for once a month.

Pam It is nice to have those lazy days every once in a while. Good job on Afterburn that will blast away any extra calories.

Julie Good job on your spinning DVD. Sounds like you had a nice Christmas and a nice lazy day yesterday. I did do Yoga Max on Sunday but I may have pushed a little too hard maybe to hold the poses .

This morning my back was feeling better and I did the Total Body Trisets Upper Body. Tomorrow will be cardio since I weighed myself this morning . I have several pounds that need to go .

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Today I used the treadmill. Didn't have to think, just went as fast as I could for about a min. then two min. walk then fast for a min. Continued that way for 20 min. Whenever you guys want to try a zentangle then that's when to do it. No special time then, just enjoy doing something for the first time.;)

Pam, Great job on AB, just as good exercise as AT, don't you think? It's nice to get caught up on laundry and other chores. Good for you. I do have Cathe's Spinning DVD. I can't wait to do it!

Julie, Great job on with the Cycle Max Extreme Premix on Sunday and Ultimate Energy for the other day. Looks like you had two Christmases in one day. You must of had a really good time. It's OK about the zentangle, just being appreciative as you are is enough. That's so cool.

Cheryl, Great job on TBTUB. I have more than several pounds to go. We'll keeping working to get it off. I'm so glad your back is feeling better. Enjoy the cardio tomorrow.

Later ladies, have a good night,

Janie

Hello Ladies, how is everyone doing? :DI'm glad to see that every one is doing good with the workouts, sorry I have being gone for too long but I was little bit sick:( and I didn't get around or feel like going to the internet kind of depress  but now I'm a little bit better so I'll be ok to be here when I get the chance you all know that DH and the girls are off from school so I'm kind of busy trying to do something with the fam so they won't get bore all this days here.
I'm kind of mad I haven't being good with my workouts since last week, not feeling good, sick, this week I had done only 2 workouts and I can feel my pants getting tight we didn't have that much food like when we are at my in-laws house, I did have the cake twice and I ate bread:eek: I'll post a picture of the cake it did turned out pretty good.
I can see that Pam you got a busu love those things good for you fon not gaining that much weight with all that yummy food you cooked. Janiecongrats wining the spinning bike I like what you did for Joey that must be a lot of work. Cheryl take care of your back I understand the weight thing I don't even want to step on the scale. Julie Glad to hear that you had a good time. I'm with you watching friends too.
Have great day everyone.
There is a picture of the cake and a picture of how it looks at 8:40pm

Julie Great job on Cycle max pre-mix ad ultimate engergy. The Fiends marathon sounds like fun, that is a great show! Oh yes, I was really excited about my Bosu, I have been wanting one for awhile!

[Cheryl I'm glad to hear that your back is feeling better. Great job on TBTUB!

Janie Great job on your treadmill workout. That is what I like to do on the treadmill too, interval bursts. It makes it not so monotonous for me! OK, I will have to start looking at some of those zentangle sites you sent. Very cool! I hope Joey liked it! I was thinking about you because I started reading the Hunger Games yesterday. DD was reading it and talking about how good it is so I told her I wanted to read it when she was finished. I think I am 10 chapters into it now. She went out and bought the trilogy yesterday. Oh yes, I do think that AB is just as good as AT. I think they are pretty similar in fact!

Eunice So sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well :( I hope you are feeling much better now. I know I get feeling bummed out when 'm not able to do my workouts either, but I know you will be right back at it before too long. Your cake looks so good! yum! I am feeling like a food pusher right now because I keep telling people eat cookies, eat cookies! We have so many of them!

This morning for me was supposed to be IMAX2, but I have done that one a lot lately so I decided to do the original Imax instead. I am feeling AB from yesterday too. I know why she calls it AFTerburn, because I am burning in my AFT regions!! :p I hope everyone is having a great day!

Pam

This morning I did another spinning.com DVD called Tour of Ireland. It was pretty tough this morning. I know it seems weird but I am kind of anxious for this active recovery week to be over so I can get back to lifting. I’m so excited about Meso 2 & 3 I can hardly stand it!

Cheryl Great job on TBT UB! I’m glad your back is feeling better. It could have been some of the poses in Yoga Max. If I remember correctly, camel and lotus are in there and those can tweak my lower back if I am not careful.

Janie Great job on your treadmill intervals! I’m so excited for your new bike to come. I can’t wait to see how you like Cycle Max. I love it but my only complaint would be that the music isn’t loud enough.

Eunice I’m sorry you were feeling sick and kind of depressed. Hopefully spending time with your girls and DH will get you back to normal. Maybe it is good that you are relaxing on your workouts a little. Maybe it is like an active recovery time for you right now and when you are ready you will come back ready to go hard again. That cake looks absolutely delicious and I love the picture of Sam. He is such a cutie pie! Stay in there and stop by when you can.

Pam Great job on Imax! I hope you added on a set of Jeannie hops though so that you got the Imax 2 feeling in there. LOL! I love that AFTerburn burning your AFT region. That is so true though! My DH is being the food/cookie pusher in our house. His boss gave him a huge box of European style cookies plus I made several dozen chocolate chip cookies. Last night he looked at me and said “please help me eat the cookies there are too many.” I was actually shocked he said that given his sugar addiction.

Have a great day!

Joey and I did TBS, abs and stretches today. Got my calendar today. Noticed that Cathe must of had implants put in. She is much bigger than usual. She looks good.

Eunice, So sorry to hear that you've been sick. Is everything OK?:( Love the beautiful cake, bet is was scrumptious. Something is wrong, what is it? If everything was right you would have continued your workouts like you have been. Perhaps it's just the holiday blues. You'll get back to where you are in no time at all after the holidays.

Pam, Joey did like his zentangle and wants to put it in his room at the beach house. You are going to really like The Hunger Games. I'm on the third book. Great job on Imax1. Oooo, enjoy your DOM's.

Julie, Great job on spinning from the Tour of Ireland. Your active recovery will be over with before you know it. I like lifting as well, but cardio for me is a little more likable. I don't know why. I'm excited for you about Meso 2 & 3. It will be here soon. ;)

Take care everyone,

Janie

Janie Good job on your treadmiill workout. It is nice to do something that you don't really need to think about. The way things are going for me I also have more than several pounds to go too.

Eunice Sorry that you haven't been feeling good. I hope you get back to your old self and can start working out again. Your cake looks really yummy.

Pam Good job on Imax. LOL you are too funny with your burning in your AFT regions.

Julie Good job on your spinning DVD. You will be lifting soon, you are half way through your recovery week. Yoga Max does have camel and lotus and I think I may have done something while doing lotus. I will need to be more careful next time.

This morning it was Step Blast. I hadn't done that one in a while so I decided to pull it out. It gave me a good sweat and hopefully got rid of a pound or two.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl
