Strength in Numbers

Sorry for not posting yesterday. Been busy packing my stuff for the beach house.

Joey and I are getting ready for our exercises and then off I go. I don't have any connections to the internet so will be in touch next week when I get home.

I'm going to miss you and my routines in the mornings.

Janie

Eunice Yes I do buy some of their clothes but I can find them new at thrift stores so that saves me tons of money. Their clothes are very expensive but they are well made. We all have those days where we have no energy. Don't worry about it tomorrow will be a better day.

Pam If I do preview a DVD I fast forward it or skip forward so I still get a few surprises. Training service puppies would be cool but I know it would be too emotional for me to give them back afterwards. Your neighbouts dog would be sooo cute. I love labs they are such nice dogs. Oh my butt really did need the yoga, I can't believe how well these new workouts get right in there :p.

Julie Glad that you did Yoga Relax I am pround of you. It does feel really good after you are finished doesn't it. I will try to remind you too that Sunday is your yoga day, just in case you forget :D. That's not good that you are dreaming about Cathe and your 182 pushups yikes . At least you could still get up in the morning and do your workout. If I have a bad nights sleep I am toast for the whole day. So how was disk 7 and your 182 pushups tonight. Pitbulls and Parolees is an interesting concept. Nice idea to get the parolees involved.

Janie Have fun at your beach house and post when you can.

Well I am trying to figure out a routine for me so I can get my workouts done in the morning again. I am going to try doing my workouts on Tuesday and Thursday morning this week. I can't seem to get up that early two days in a row . So tonight I did Yoga Max and tomorrow morning it will be the cardio and ab portion of Slide and Glide. If this works out I will try to get up early Monday Wednesday and Friday next week. Gone are the days when I could get up really early 5 days a week without a problem and get my workout in :(

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job doing Yoga Relax! You are going to make me feel guilty since it still hasn't called my name! It sounds like you really enjoyed it though so that is encouraging! OMG, that is just too funny about your dream! I have been worried about my workouts before, but never to that extent. I have had several dreams about trying to get my workout in and not being able to for one reason or another. So funny that we are that obsessive about it huh?? I hope you got through those 182 pushups ok last night!
The art show was cool, although I was kind've hoping that we would get to see them actually making the pictures. They should at least video tape that part and have it showing during the show. maybe I will suggest that to them for next year. I don't think my cats would be into making art either. They would probably try to eat the paint!
My tree picture on FB isn't very good. My girlfriend asked me if I'd been drinking mimosas before I took it because it was so blurry. DH told me I couldn't just leave his improvised stand out there though! That was my experience as well with giving blood. Bled too slow, didn't give them enough so they couldn't use it. And I got a big bruise for my trouble!. oh well
Wow, pitbulls and parolees sound very cool. What a great idea. I know what you mean about the sad stories though. I can hardly stand to watch some of those SPCA commercials where they show the poor sad little animals that have been beaten by cruel people.
I don't know what was up with the balancing issues yesterday either, probably just not enough sleep or something.

Janie I'm thinking you are already gone, but I hope you have an awesome time at the beach. We'll miss you!

Cheryl Oh yes Bentley (our neighbors dog) is adorable. I know what you mean about getting emotionally attached to the dogs, that would be really hard. My MIL fosters kittens and I think that would be hard too, but she doesn't keep them very long, just old enough until they can be adopted. Of course, she now has 2 kittens that she didn't give back! :D
I think the DOMS are different with these new workouts. It seems like I don't get as sore, but it seems to be deeper in the muscle and last longer. IDK, maybe that is just my imagination though

That sounds like a good idea to try to mix your workouts up a little so that you can sleep a little later some mornings, I hope that works out for you. Great job on Yoga Max!

This morning for me was cardio kicks and the abs from KPC. I figured that I needed to do kickboxing abs since I did a kickbox workout. My legs are feeling yesterdays plyo legs too. When I got up this morning I couldn't remember what wo I had done yesterday. It didn't take long for my legs to remind me though! Have a great day everyone!

Pam

Well, I did it. I did all 182 pushups last night. Not all on my toes but I am alive and that is what matters. I did the elmo style stability ball pushups on my knees. I don’t know how anyone can do those like they are supposed to be done. I also had to go to my knees on the straddle pushups and the last 4 staggered pushups. Funny thing … I was doing the barbell curl and thought man, I am strong. Then when I went to use that same barbell for the wide grip curls, I realized I had 10 pounds less on there than I should have. Oops. Oh well! This morning I did disc 9, legs. I am fried! I think I tweaked my back on the left side during the last exercise, 1-legged deadlifts. It feels a little tight and tender. I definitely went too heavy on that one and need to lighten up next time.

Janie Enjoy the beach house. Can’t wait to hear the progress you’ve made.

Cheryl Great job on Yoga Max! I like your plan of starting out slowly getting up early in the mornings. I remember starting out with just 1 or 2 days and only working out 30-45 minutes those one or two days for a while before starting to add another day and so on. Even now there are some days I just hate getting up early to work out. I see DH and Maggie still snoozing away in bed and I get a little tempted to go back. I hope that come next Sunday, I can remember the feeling I had from last Sunday’s yoga relax. Although, the way my back is feeling, I may have to do something before Sunday. It’s funny that I got so nervous over disc 7 and it wasn’t as bad as I had envisioned. I am surprised I got up yesterday morning too to workout but I figured it was steady state spinning so I could kind of not pay attention to anything but my mp3 player and zone out.

Pam Great job on CK and KPC abs! I love Cardio Kicks. I love the punching drills at the end because they make me feel tough! I did enjoy both yogas but YR is definitely more stretchy. Probably not to the extent that stretch max is but it was a nice Sunday workout. I told DH about my dream and he barely even registered any facial expression. I think he thinks I am nuts. I can’t even remember all of the specifics of the dream just the fact that it had to do with disc 7 and I didn’t get good vibes from it. I wish I would have dreamed of me rocking out all of the pushups with perfect form. That is a good suggestion to have them video tape the painting part and play it during the show. That is the fun part about it. Watching the animals anyway. The show I saw them doing this on also had the dogs using paint rollers. They stuffed the handle of the roller with peanut butter/treats and then the dogs would push the roller around trying to get the treat out. It was really cute to see. I cry at all the SPCA commercials. Those sad faces are just too much and then they show the ones shaking and trembling and I’m a goner for sure.

Have a great day!

Pam I can't even watch the SPCA commercials. I have to leave the room until it is over because they upset me too much. I love the name Bentley that seems so appropriate for a lab. Nice that your MIL can foster kittens, I would just want to keep them all. For me the DOMS is worse than the other workouts. I am a lot more sore and I agree that it gets you deeper in the muscle and it does last longer . I am hoping that if I can get used to getting up again early in the morning a little at a time I can then get back to doing it 4 or 5 days a week like I had been doing several years ago. Good job on Cardio Kicks an oldie but a goodie.

Julie Way to go on your 182 push ups. I don't know how anyone can do the elmo style push ups on their toes either. I am like you where I need to get down on my knees to do them. I hope your back is feeling better. I can't go heavy on the 1-legged deadlifts or I will feel it in my back too. I am hoping that I can get back into doing 4 - 5 days a week in the morning. I will see about doing it slowly so I can get used to it again. I never had a problem until several years ago when menopause struck . It is harder when you have to get out of bed and everyone else is all cuddled up nice a warm. I get nervous with a couple of Cathe's workouts too but my mind makes them worse that what they really are.

So this morning I got up and did SG cardio and ab work. It was only 40 minutes but that was good for me. It felt good to get home and know that I didn't have to try to squeeze in a workout after dinner.

Have a great Wednesday.

Cheryl

Pam I had being feeling better now just busy! Like I need to be THAT busy really? Then I'm going to need to get some more wine:confused: I wish that's all it is being hard on my self:( Yes I know DH its going to be around a lot this days I might need more wine! That would be funny if your cats climb the tree, you'll need to record that:p I'm glad you are getting off for the rest of the year, any plans?

Julie Good for you for doing yoga relax, that's why you'll need to keep doing it, but I think a lot times some people are just gifted being that flexible I'm NOT that flexible and I don't want to be:p You are so funny dreaming about the push ups, maybe you were getting to tired from doing them on the dream:p:eek: I think you couldn't wait to do them:p enjoy those DOMS I hope too that you did worked out both legs:p

Cheryl Is nice that you get to have those kind of stores so you can get nice clothes at good price. I hope you got it figured out your routine.

Pamgood job doing cardio kicks and abs from KPC, I was thinking of you when I was doing legs I think we did the same disc or maybe not but still the second week of meso 3 leg plyo has those balance things and it was hard for me this time too as well I was getting sore by then:confused: really good workout.

JulieI'm glad that you made it! yay you still alive after those push ups so hoe did you sleep after that? Well your story about the barbell curl ups sounds like mine with the squats, so funny!! I hope your back its better now.

Sorry girls I'm being short tonight but I had a busy day today and yesterday, yesterday I went out for diner:eek::confused: yes I know weird for me but I did it wasn't all good but anyways.
Today I took Brandy to her school to have a test. we drove far away then I had to wait for her, I got home cook dinner oh boy times goes by so fast!!
Tomorrow I have dentist appointment, Friday I have a hair cut appointment OMG I'm tired already!!!
Well yesterday I did legs ploy dis 27 I think, I didn't have time to workout today till tomorrow.
Have a great day!!

Julie Congratulations! 182 pushups is such an accomplishment! I have to tell you, when I first read your post I thought it said you did them on all your toes and I was going to faint! I can never do all of the straddle pushups on my toes. Those are so hard! I can't remember what the elmo style pushups are....hmmmm....Hey, you pulled a Eunice with that barbell! :D;) I've done the opposite before - accidentally put on too much weight and couldn't figure out why I was struggling so much. Great job on following it up with disc 9 the next morning. You are an iron woman!! Hope your back is feeling better soon :( I know what you mean about those punching drills making you feel strong. I like that the guys do those kickbox workouts too. That's the problem with dreams, we just can't control them! I think our DHs just don't understand the whole workout thing. I'm trying to convince my DH to start an STS rotation. He has been feeling out of shape lately since he hasn't been playing basketball. He even came home and rode the spin bike for 45 minutes that other night!
That is funny about getting the dogs to use the paint rollers. I think they will do almost anything for peanut butter! I'm with you on the SPCA commercials. They are just so upsetting!

Cheryl I can't watch the SPCA commercials either. They are just heartbreaking. I would have a really hard time working there and not taking all of the animals home. I think your plan of getting up early only a few days is good. It was probably good doing a shorter workout too, then you wouldn't have to get up quite as early. And that 40 minutes you did gets the job done! I remember when I did evening workouts I often ended up not working out because I was either just too tired after work, or ended up going somewhere to do something and it just got too late. I have a much harder time making it work in the evening, but getting up in the morning
Great job on the SG cardio and ab work. If I remember correctly that ab workout is really tough.

Eunice Uh oh, it sounds like you could turn into a wine drinker, be careful ;) Luckily I don't think there is any chance of our cats climbing the tree. They do like to sleep under it and play with the dangly ornament though  No big plans for my vacation time. Next week will probably be lots of shopping because I have hardly done any Christmas shopping yet. We also do a big dinner with all of DHs golf buddies and their wives so we are doing that next week. I'm cooking dinner for both Christmas Eve and Christmas day so then it will be time to relax. We always go to the beach for a few days for New Years too. Oh yes, those plyo leg workouts are goodies. I am still feeling mine from Monday! That is the problem with those 1/2 turn jumps, they come so close to the end when you are already fried so they are even harder!
Wow, you went out for dinner huh? What do you mean it wasn't all good??? Great job on the plyo legs workout, it does sound like we did the same one.

This morning for me was MM. I tell you, I am feeling the heat in my muscles till. Whew. It seems like the low ends are never going to end in that workout. I was so proud and thought I had done all of the pushups on my toes, but then she threw in the down 4 up 2/down 2 set and forget about it. I had to drop to my knees halfway through those and I wasn't even sure I was going to make it to the end on my knees! I've got another busy work day ahead so need to get to it. Have a great day everyone!

Pam

I put the heating pad on my back all night last night while I slept and woke up feeling better, but not 100%. I decided to try working out to see how it would go and promised to stop if I needed to. I was actually able to get through all of the cardio of 4DS Kickbox and the abs too—despite it containing those ugly split leg crunches! My back is still a little sore so I probably be using the heating pad again tonight and playing tomorrow morning by ear as well.

Cheryl Great job on S&G cardio & ab work! Seems like a perfect one to start out the morning with. My back is a little better but it still has a ways to go if I hope to do disc 8 tomorrow. I know that one has some deadlifts so if I have to I may skip those. I had another one of those mornings where DH and Maggie were snoozing away and I drug my tired body out of bed to go workout. DH usually ends up getting up a little after I start my workout but still seeing him snoozing away makes me want to stay cuddled up. I think it is harder in the winter too. I just don’t have the motivation that I have during the rest of the year. No sunlight and chilly weather makes for a grumpy, lazy me. Yes, my mind definitely exaggerated the horror of disc 7. I need to remind myself to just do what I can and be proud of that.

Eunice Great job on fitting in plyo legs disc 27 with your busy schedule! Time does fly and not just when you are having fun. All those errands and driving around is so exhausting. Hope you get some down time soon. LOL! You're too funny about having to take up wine drinking because DH will be home so much!

Pam Great job on MM! I think that is one of my all-time favorite total body workouts because you really feel it during and after the workout. OMG! No way could I do all of the pushups on my toes! That would be crazy! That’s another reason I like CK and Circuit Max. Because of the guys. I used to do CK a lot when I worked out in our living room hoping DH would see the guys in the video and want to start doing it with me. No such luck though. Your DH at least has some interest in working out and I’m impressed he rode the spin bike for 45 minutes. My DH came down on Sunday after I was done doing Yoga Relax and sat on my bike pedaled a few times and said “hmm…maybe I should work out some time”. I said that would be great and he could ride my bike or walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes while I work out on Monday and Thursday afternoons. Hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been tempted to buy P90X and do it with him because he won’t do Cathe. But then I don’t want to spend the money on it and him not do it.

Have a great day!

Julie I'm glad that the heating pad made your back feel some better, but please do take it easy if it is bothering you during any of those heavy weight workouts. I know it can be tough to take it easy sometimes when we want to go hard hard hard! Great job on 4ds Kickbox and those split leg crunches! I hope your back is doing better today.
I do really like MM too although I haven't done it many times for some reason. One of the things I really like about it is that Cathe always tells you what weight so is using AND gives you enough time to change your weights on your barbell. I get so frustrated when I have to pause. So far DH is sticking with his workout, he rode again last night for about 45 minutes. He's watching Twin Peaks on Netflix, so he goes up and puts on an episode and rides until it's over. He said he can't wait until he is able to concentrate on the TV show instead of his heart beating in his head! He was even giving me a hard time on Tuesday night because we carpooled and I ended up working late so he didn't get his workout in! I hope he keeps it up! He's having a hard time because he has been athletic his whole life so was always in shape, but now he's not playing basketball or any other sports regularly and is really starting to feel it!

I hope everyone else is doing well! This morning for me was IMax 2. It was so funny because I was doing it and thinking about how much fruit is and that even though it's really hard it really has no dread factor that was about the time that the some time keeps ticking away started, which always reminds me that the Jeannie hops are coming! So ok, maybe a little dread factor, but at least not like round 4 of CCC!
Have a great day everyone!

Pam

Well I totally slept in today so no workout this morning. I had a terrible night’s sleep and even lay awake from midnight to 2 for no reason. So when my alarm went off at 3, I thought ok just 5 more minutes. Well, 5 more minutes turned into 2 hours. I woke up a little after 5. Guess I needed it though because my back is feeling a lot better. Good thing since I am doing disc 8 back and triceps tonight.

Pam Great job on Imax 2! LOL on your dread factor comparison! I don’t even know if disc 7 with 182 pushups compares to round 4 of CCC! Oh I am definitely going to watch it tonight when doing the back work. I think most of it will be ok but there is 1 set of deadlifts that I may have to skip and the barbell rows can sometimes put pressure on my low back so I will have to play those by ear as well. That is great that your DH is keeping on. Having something to watch probably helps. Although you should tell him that once he is able to concentrate on his episode instead of his heart, that means it is time to crank up the resistance again.

Hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful day!

I never got a chance to post yesterday. We went out for our manager's lunch yesterday and then I had to get the grocery shopping done after work. I was pooped by the time I got home and put everything away. I tried to get up this morning but because we went out for lunch yesterday I never had any dinner or anything to drink after I left work for that matter. So I was feeling pretty crappy when I woke up . My whole system seems to be thrown off right now because I felt horrible all day at work. I am setting my alarm early for tomorrow morning to do a workout.

Eunice You sure do have a busy week ahead of you. Good job on plyo legs

Pam Evening workouts are hard after a long day at work. That was one reason why I was waking up every night because I needed to drink water while I worked out and then I always had to get up again around midnight . The ab work is tough in SG especially the split leg crunches. I don't know what I hate more those or the bike manouvers. Good job on MM, she always throws in those push ups and when you think you are almost done she throws a curve ball at ya. Good for you in getting most of the push ups done on your toes. Way to go on Imax 2. You were thinking about how much fruit is while you were doing it .

Julie I hope your back in doing better. Don't over do it and let your back get the rest it needs. Also be careful on the deadlifts because those can be hard on your back. Sometimes I either have to lighten the weight a lot or not do them at all depending on how my back feels. Winter is the worst for trying to get out of bed. It is depressing to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Sounds like you needed the rest. I hate those nights when you wake up for no reason and can't get back to sleep.

Happy Friday everyone.

Cheryl

Cheryl That's a lot of time with out eating, something I cannot handle either, funny DH always tells me that we can train our body to go with out eating, no way I don't want to do that. I hope tomorrow you feel better and you get to get up early to do your workout. This month of Dec seems to be the hardest one to keep the good, healthy food balance. Not good! I hate having a busy week I don't know why I don't like to do anything that has to do with going out I like to be in the house and going out as little as I can.

Pam I was telling to DH about me turning into a wine drinker, he say "NO" I don't think so it would be weird!:p I'm glad your cats are not climbing the tree, maybe they will get into presents. I saw your post on FB that you were signing your store receipts "merry christmas" that was funny, I hope you like to go shopping because I think its going to be very crowded the week before, we got some online shopping now I'm just hopping to get it here before the DPO office closes for the holidays they close on the 23rd and open till Jan/7th or something like that, crazy! Yes, you are going to be busy cooking those 2 big dinners, do you get any help from your DD? I got pretty sore from those ploy legs too. Yes, the diner wasn't good I got some kind of sweet potato, with a few leafs of spinach and beef I didn't finish the whole plate, then the couple who was there on the same table were kind of fighting not a very pleasant company.
Good job doing MM, I love to feel the heat in my muscles ohhh those low ends are nasty OMG you did all the pushups on your toes:eek: great job I'm jealous:p well done, the 4 up, 2 down are a present from Cathe:D

Julie Oh you have to be very careful with your back, I'm glad the heating pad worked for you maybe you need to take a day off, but only you can decide that, I'm glad you made it through the cardio of 4DS kickboxing all that jumping and kicking sometimes can hurt too.. I hope your back gets better, did you took ant motrin? I know winter is the harder one to get up every day to do the workouts and more if were you live its freezing. No, no, I cannot picture you being lazy, grumpy, Julie:p We will see, DH really doesn't bother me or anything I'm the grumpy and bossy so maybe he is the one drinking the wine. something its going on with Pam's DH and your DH I think they are getting scare of having hot, strong wife on their side, they better get their body moving. I have P90X its a good one for a beginner I did that one way before I found Cathe, I never went back but I did liked, so maybe if you get the new P90X2 you will enjoy.

Pam wow Pam, really proud of your DH if his doing the bike ride for 45 min even when he is watching TV:D one day he is going to realize that he needs to pay attention to the HR instead of the tv show, but hey! he is trying.. So funny that he was bugging you because he couldn't get his workout in.
Good job doing Imax2:p:p:p Your favorite one ever!!! So funny that you were thinking about fruit, that is much better then thinking and smelling hot dog:eek: yes, one day I was doing my workout and then out of no where I started to get the smell of hot dogs:eek::eek: so funny because I haven't eat any since we got here plus the hot dogs here are way diff from the ones from back at home.

Julie So glad that you got extra sleep this morning and that your back its feeling a lot better, enjoy doing back/triceps tonight.

Well yes I know I have being bad lately:eek: but I'm here, lets see what I have done since yesterday hahaha!! not to long ago. Yesterday I did disc 25 chest/back meso 3 week 2 it was 7 reps so DH was home and he asked me if I wanted any help just call him, so that's what I did, I bench press my heavy so far, "I think" 65Lb and for back rows I did 75Lb, so easy when some one put the barbell ON my hands I don't have to get tired, or get hurt trying to put that heavy barbell over my chest.:D then for the flys I did 30Lb:D I was happy about that one, and for the deadlift I used the 75 + the ankle weight because I don't have more 5pound plates so I have to improvised so I think that counts as 80+the weighted gloves 82Lb oh and one arm row I used 35Lb :D my chest and back are pretty tender now. Sorry abut being a bragger today, but I have to tell some one that get it..
So today I repeated disc 30 biceps/triceps/shoulders, and I got my heavy's as well I did biceps with 45 pound barbell:D yes!! the 4 sets of 7 reps :D:D then for shoulder press I got up to 47 Lbs I used the 20's for biceps. I was pooped when I finished but I was happy... I haven't done any cardio this week, I want to focus on building more muscle:D:D:D this month so will see how it goes tomorrow, I want to do legs again, then take Sunday off then Monday is when I go to the gym to workout with DH, so I guess I'm just playing because he wants to train me next month.
Have a great weekend every one:D:p

Last night I did disc 8, back & triceps. I felt like I got a really good workout in and my back was feeling much better from Tuesday’s 1-legged deadlift debacle. So I was actually able to do the deadlifts in last night’s workout. Yeah! This morning I dragged myself out of bed and did Cycle Max Scrambled Premix. I don’t know why but it has been getting really hard for me to get out of bed in the mornings and this morning I couldn’t even blame it on DH since he had already left for work. I sure hope this isn’t a sign of how the winter is going to be.

Cheryl Well I hope you enjoyed the lunch and have gotten caught up on food, drink, and rest. Somebody asked me today if I was excited about Christmas and I told them I was excited for it to be over. That’s not normally like me but this year it is just getting to be so stressful for some reason. I think resting yesterday morning helped my back. I was definitely taking it easy because I didn’t want to be down for a longer period of time by overdoing it. I’m also definitely lightening the weight on those 1-legged deadlifts since that is what twinged it in the first place.

Eunice Great job on disc 25! Especially on going heavier on the weights! It is nice to have DH spot you like that. I have my DH spot me when I get to meso 2 and 3 on the chest presses. I use Cathe’s tower as the rack to hold the barbell but I like having DH there in case I get the bar down but can’t push it back up. That happened once or twice during my first rotation so he just helped guide me back up. LOL on the ankle weights! I have used mine too to help get me to a higher weight when all my other plates were being used. Wow! You are one strong mama! I can’t believe those weights you are heaving around! You go, girl! Oh my DH is nowhere near on the same plane as Pam’s DH. Pam’s DH at least wants to and does workout but mine is still only talking about it. He has been talking about it for 5 years so I don’t think it is going to change anytime soon.

Have a great day!

Julie I think it's ok that you had a sleep in morning, they are good for you every so often. Plus you still worked out at night It sounds like it was just what your back needed too! I'm not sure if ANYTHING compares in dread factor for me to round 4 of CCC. That is my ultimate dread factor. I should do my own pre-mix and do that one first next time so that I have it over with and can just enjoy the rest of the workout! Well DH is at 2 so far with the biking. On Thursday he went out for a beer after work with some friends and then he was on vacation Friday and played golf. I don't think golf counts as a workout....we'll see what he does today!

Cheryl Oh boy, I hate those days when I just feel out of whack. I imagine going so long without eating didn't help at all. I hope you were able to get up and get your workout in in the morning. My DH wakes up every night around 2:00 and gets water. Of course I wake up when he does and then I lay there in bed waiting for him to come back with the water because I am so thirsty. The other night though when he went to get the water he was gone for a long time and I heard him going into the garage and walking all around. When he came back I asked him what was going on. He was trying to find Shorty because he wasn't on the bed and he is always on our bed at night. So then we were both worried that he had gotten outside or locked in somewhere. It was right about then that he jumped on the bed  Not a great sleep that night!

Eunice Well I guess if you can live in California and Australia and not turn into a wine drinker then there isn't much hope for you. Two of the best places to get wine in the world! Oh yes, I went to the grocery store and they gave me my credit card slip to sign I started signing it Merry Christmas. Crazy. Yep, shopping this week will be a zoo but I have to do it. I have done quite a bit online, I love having it just show up on my porch, but some things I need to go look at in person. I'm cooking 4 big dinners this week now! One tonight for my sisters birthday and Christmas with my brother since he is here for the weekend, the golf dinner on the 23rd, then Christmas eve and Christmas day. I'm most worried about fridge space for all the shopping! DD doesn't usually get involved with the cooking, except for the stuff on the grill. He almost always does all of the cleanup from big dinners though, so that is really nice. Awww, what a bummer to go out for dinner and have such a bad experience. That certainly won't make you want to go out again any time soon. And people fighting at the table too, lovely :(
Maybe I should've told Cathe to keep her present! :p
Oh hot dog! I haven't had one in so long and I love them. Now you have me thinking about hot dogs!
Great job on disc 25 and all of your heavy lifting. WOWOWOWOWOWOW 65 pounds for bench press is AWESOME! I think my max ever is 40 pounds! I don't have DH to help, but I use the tower. I did one arm rows with 30 pounds in MM and I was really struggling to get through them all, I can't imagine using 35 pounds. 47 pounds for shoulders is insane, GREAT JOB!!! You can brag here, we totally understand!

Julie Great job on disc 8, so glad that your back is doing better. Great job on the cycle max pre-mix too, especially when you weren't wanting to get up for it.

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday as it has been a busy busy week at work. We had a big deadline to get a project finished yesterday and everything that could go wrong this week did. We did it though, hurray! I worked on Wednesday til 8, on Thursday til 10:30, and yesterday straight through from 8-5. Whew. I did get my workouts in though. Yesterday was total body STS and today I have total body DOMS! Ouch. It was really tough yesterday, I'm not sure why, and I'm really feeling it all over today. I was going to sub in TBT, but I hadn't done STS in so long I decided to stick with it. This morning was MIC. It's funny how hard it is to get through 30 minutes of high impact now. I used to be the high impact queen! I have to tell you I was so confused when I was reading your posts about my fruit comment! I kept thinking I didn't say anything about fruit so I had to go read my post. It was supposed to say FUN!! hahahaha I think I wrote that post on my ipad and it has this wonderful habit of 'fixing' my spelling for me. I probably had mis-spelled fun and it decided that fruit was what I was trying to type! Oh boy. Anyway, I am officially on vacation now til the end of the year, but unofficially will still be doing some work. That's ok though since it will be mostly play! Have a great day everyone, I'm off to bake a birthday cake!

Pam

Well Friday morning was not good for me either . I got up and tried to do Turbo Barre but my stomach was still not doing well. This morning I did do Athletic Training. That was a doozy :D.

Eunice That was way too long to not eat but I wasn't hungry at all. I didn't eat that much at lunch but it was not what I normally would eat. December is the hardest month that is for sure. Way to go on disk 25 and lifting heavier with your bench press and back rows that is awesome. Not to worry you should brag about it and who better to brag to than people who understand how hard it is. Good job with the weights on disk 30 too. You are doing really well.

Julie Good job on disk 8 and your cycle max scrambled premix. I feel for you in having to drag yourself out of bed. I feel the same way and it is soooo hard to get motivated. I am glad that your back is feeling better. I am like you that I am excited for Christmas to be over. I am not looking forward to Christmas dinner because of all the rich food. That kind of food doesn't make me feel well at all.

Pam I have been feeling out of whack for a while now. I really have to get back into the healthy eating and not feel obligated to eat things that people bring to work. I have one more lunch on Tuesday and I hope that I feel much better after that one. I worry about my boys too when they aren't where they normally are. They are always sleeping somewhere different, I guess they need to change things up a bit . You really did have a busy week at work. Good for you to still get your workouts in. I am thinking that I should try to start back with high impact so I don't get too rusty :p. MIC is a tough one. That is too funny about your fruit comment. When I was reading it I was saying to myself why is Pam thinking about fruit??? Enjoy your time off. I have four more days and then I am on vacation until the new year.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheryl

JulieGood job doing disc 8 back/triceps and cycle max scramble premix. I'm glad that your back is doing a lot better, we need our backs for every and all kind of workouts so we really need to take care of it.... Have you think about you being over doing it? I don't know you really, really workout really hard and sometimes twice per day, maybe your body is trying to tell you something? You should try to recharge the batteries, remember that muscle grow while you are resting NOT when you are lifting:D Just a thought maybe you should take it easy and take a whole 1 to 3 to even 5 days off if you can handle it. Dragging your self out of bed should be the first sign.
I think I'm doing good but then when I see another girls that are doing Jamie E 12 week trainer that are squatting BIG, BIG numbers I feel wimp. I wanted to get Cathie's tower but the barbell we have is Olympic when Cathie first came out with the presale I wanted to get it but the say that it would not work for the olympic bar because of the length, still I want to get it for the new workout.

Pam Hahaha!! Today I was telling DH that we should join the program or whatever is called so we can get some wine once in a while, today we opened the frizzante it was good I know you don't like that kind but the red one merlot was good too. :DHave fun doing your shopping this week, oh boy and those dinners of yours I bet you are going to have great food and great deserts too yummy I can't wait to hear what you did.
OMG this weekend I had being a bad girl:eek: we went to Melbourne on Saturday and we ate out:eek: I had a big bowl of soup it was sooo good, some kind of marocan, spice, chicken soup with veggies and 2 small pieces of sourdough bread, then DH wanted to eat chocolate so we went to a fancy expensive place to try some I ate one, chili-tequila dark chocolate  I bought 3 small boxes to mail back home for Astrid, in-laws and granny $71.00:eek::eek: I hope they get on one piece if not they going to have a chunk of all kind of chocolate if they melt on their way.
Thanks  DH say that he is going to get me to lift HEAVIER  we'll see tomorrow I'm going to the gym with him.
You did work till late the past 3 days I'm glad it is over and now you get to have some time to relax. Good job doing total body STS and total body DOMS:D:p and also for doing MIC, why is that it was hard? because of the DOMS? Hahahah!! I thought that it didn't match your fruit comment, and I had to re-read as well, it was so much better to read about fruit and not some other funny (nasty) things that the outo-correct tends to spell for others.
Enjoy your vacations and don't play to hard... DH its going back to work till the 31st of Jan:confused::eek:

Cheryl That's a bummer that your stomach still upset, I hope you feel better soon. Good job doing Turbo Barre and Athletic Training, not an easy one when we are not feeling 100% up to it.
Lets see how it goes for me the rest of the month, I had being feeling very crapy as well with all the eating, easy to cheat lately :confused: NOt good, but that's alright January comes and then we go into diet. Stacy and Rachel say that they are going to do diet after we go back home and go to Disneyland:D funny they are very smart huh?

Well I didn't workout yesterday, we went to the city we left early 9,30am( I know that's not early for you guys) and stay till late we got home after 8.30pm we had a good time the day, the weather was beautiful we did some shopping DH got a facial cleanser sooooo funny he never was worried before:eek::confused: Oh well!!! We walk into Tiffany & Co very expensive and very busy it was, I forgot my camera in the store when I helped Brandy to try a necklace I did put it down and I didn't get it back, so when we went to the next store I was going to take a picture of the girls and there is when I realized that I had forgotten  we went back to the store the security guy found it, whew!!!
I ate so, so, one chocolate BUT, but the girls and DH got a cupcake and I DID NOT ATE ANY..... ahhhhhhhh yay for me!!!!
Today it was rainy and windy I didn't workout either I did a big grocery shopping and just be home lazy. Tomorrow I'm going to start DH program, I hope I can survive.
Oh I almost forgot to tell you guys Brandy is doing Insanity, she's being doing good so far she haven't miss a day. Also a friend of hers work with her parents on cleaning houses and they invited her to work during the school vacations she went last week one day and tomorrow she is going back, so funny because she was saying today "I don't think I like to work" sorry!!!! Also before I did met my hubby that was my work, house cleaning she texted me that first day and say to me "I don't know how you did it, this is so hard!!! I'm so tired" I replay "To feed you" then after that she got into clean mode, she did clean her room. I hope she get to work more often!!
Well have a great weekend everyone.:D:p

Back home a couple of days earlier. There was something wrong with the thermostat and no hot water. Was time to get back home. Joey is leaving tomorrow to fix those things and some others.

Glad to get back home, it was truly a working experience. Finished painting my room but still need to do the windows inside. It's double paned.

I've read all your posts and I'm so proud of you all. Pam and Julie 182 push ups! Wow! Cheryl, I think you moving your workouts to different ways is adding a benefit you don't realize. You are confusing your body to be better with exercise. Eunice, you are doing so well on exercising, it's amazing! Glad you found your camera and it wasn't stolen.

I had taken some beautiful photos of the beach and the marina for you all to see, just to find out this morning that the card wasn't in the camera. I forgot to put it back in when I was looking at the recent photos I had before. DARN! I'll try again next time. DARN!

We will be going to one of my daughters house for Christmas Italian dinner. What will all of you be doing then?

Good to be back and get in the normal morning routine that I missed.

Have a good rest of the weekend be safe,

Janie

Well it has been a busy weekend. Yesterday morning I did Power Hour. Definitely a good workout. Afterwards, DH and I ran some errands and took Maggie to the vet for a checkup. Then we had to go to DH’s brother’s Christmas party. We ended up getting home after 8pm. Sunday morning, we went grocery shopping, wrapped gifts, and did some laundry. I did get Yoga Relax in though.

Pam Great job on STS TB and MIC! Wow! That must have been really tough with full body DOMS. MIC is one of the hardest workouts I think. That’s how it always goes with projects. I think it is rare for me to work on a project that goes smoothly 100% of the time. LOL! Fun instead of fruit. I have a love-hate relationship with spell check features. Technology is not always as smart as it thinks it is. Enjoy your couple weeks of vacation/staycation. Even with having to work a little from home, I am sure it will still be more relaxing than having to go in. Yeah, I wouldn’t count golf as a workout either. Even if he walked the course, I’m not sure it is that much of a workout.

Cheryl Great job on AT! That one is a doozy but one of my favorites out of the new LIS. That must have been some stomach issues for it to have lasted that long. I’m glad you seem to be over it though. Yep, I can’t wait until all the rich food is gone too. We have had food days at work 2-3 times a week for the last 2 weeks and this coming week. I have been good and avoided the food room like it is a plague. I tend to get serious upset stomach issues for days if I eat too much rich food. I can avoid it at work but I can’t at the family get togethers as easily.

Eunice I’m not worried about overdoing it right now. I really think I just went too heavy on the 1-legged deadlift last Tuesday and that is what tweaked my back and I always have issues with getting up during the winter time. It is so hard to have energy when I only see the sun as it is setting on my drive home. I will be taking my active recovery week next week so I may do more yoga and steady state cycling which is not near as hard as Cycle Max. Oh, I didn’t realize you had an Olympic bar. I have a 2 five foot barbells so they both work pretty well with the tower. I don’t think the Olympic bar would fit in my tiny workout room very well. Don’t beat yourself up on how much you lift. I am really impressed and amazed with the weights you posted. I’m no where near you on most of those. I think I can only do 27lb 1 arm row and 35 pound shoulder press and bicep curl. I just keep reminding myself that I have only been lifting heavy for a year and I have the rest of my life to work up those weights. Sounds like you had a great day the other day with DH and your girls. Cheating is good every once in awhile and you didn’t go crazy so that is good. Is Brandy liking Insanity? Oh poor girl, having to clean other people’s houses for her first job. Maybe that is better than working fast food like so many teens here.

Janie Bummer about the camera card. You will have plenty of opportunities though. Hope Joey can get those things fixed without too much trouble or expense. Thanks for all the encouragement on our workouts. That is what we are all here for though. Supporting each other in our workouts and other life experiences is what keeps me coming back. Your Italian Christmas dinner sounds really good. I love Italian food. I will be having Christmas at my sister’s for my family and then going to my DH’s family dinner all on Christmas. My family will be doing traditional holiday type food, rich and fatty!

Have a great day!

JanieI'm glad that you are home now. You had being working really hard in your beach house. I hope Mr Joey doesn't get to tired working fixing all those little things. That's a bummer that you didn't have the card in the camera:( well next time I'm sure you will have more chances to get beautiful pictures at the beach. mmm italian diner sounds delicious. We won't do much just being at home DH is going to cook a turkey I haven't think about desert yet. I just want to eat turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce.:D

Julie I love power hour, that is one of my favorites ever. Sounds like everyone its being busy this weekend, I bet Yoga Relax was the cherry on the top after all those errands :D I'm glad your back is doing better and you know your body,I'm pretty sure that you'll know when its telling you something else. Good for taking the recovery week. You'll get there to the heavy lifting I had being lifting for about 4 years I like to push my self, but I like better DH pushing me he is really good at it. Yes, Brandy its being doing Insanity every time she is off from school, she like ShaunT :p:roll eyes: I think the same is better working cleaning houses, they are empty houses so its a little bit easier.

Pam are you stack at the shopping center??:D:D:D JK

Today was the first day of working out with DH, we did squats, deadlifts, glut and hamstring, and abs.. He wanted to find my max on the squats so we started doing 2 warmup sets, then 30k 5 reps/40K 5reps/50K 5reps/60K 5reps/then 70k 2 reps :D/ yes that was my max 70 kilos.:p for the the hamstring I did 50K 4 sets of 8. And I'm sooooooo tired right now, I did clean the house, the bathrooms, vacuum, cook lunch & dinner. I did 3 loads of laundry, I was going to cook the meat muffins for tomorrow lunch but I just finished cleaning the kitchen and I don't want to get it dirty again.
DH helped me around the house too, he cleaned out in the back yard, looks like we are going to have lots of extra time if we clean together which is not a bad idea.;) the girls last day of school is on wednesday.
Well have great day every one.

Well this morning I woke up not feeling very energized and just kind of worn down. I didn’t want to take any chances in case I am coming down with something so I decided to sleep in and just do disc 10, chest, shoulders, and biceps tonight when I get home.

Eunice Great job on your workout with DH! See you are super strong! Your 1RM for squats is 150 pounds that is quite impressive. I’m the same way about not wanting to mess up the kitchen right after I clean it. DH on the other hand thinks it was cleaned so it can get dirty again. Although to give him credit he does usually help me clean the house, just not the kitchen. In fact, I have been pretty lucky and don’t usually have to clean the bathrooms because that is DH’s job. Cleaning empty houses would be better than ones that are lived in.

Have a great day!
