Strength in Numbers

Cheryl BOOO, so mad that your stomach was still feeling bad on Friday morning. I can't believe you still made it through TB while you weren't feeling good, that is a toughie. I guess you must've been feeling better Saturday morning if you did AT! Great job! We used to do all kinds of holiday goodies at work for the whole month of December, but now so many people work at home or spend so much time on conference calls there really isn't any of that anymore, which is a good thing. I usually do better when I'm at work because I just eat my fruit for a snack in the morning and then have a salad for lunch. When I work at home for some reason I seem to snack all day  It is funny how the cats get their little spots that they like to hang out in and then after a couple of months they seem to change to a new one. We have a big bowl on our coffee table that Shorty likes to sleep in when we are watching TV in the evening. At Christmas time I fill the bowl with Christmas balls for decoration. The first few nights after that he would lay on the table beside the bowl sleeping. It was really pathetic  Now he sleeps under the Christmas tree though so all is good again! Just 3 more days of work for you!

Eunice Oh you are on your way downhill as soon as you join a wine club. That is the first step... ;) I bought some frizzante last summer because the guy at my wine shop was telling me how delicious it is, but it wasn't for me. My MIL and SIL loved it though so that was good. The first big dinner was last Saturday night. I made a giant prime rib (13 pounds) and it was just sooooo good. I don't know why it was so good this time but it was just melt in your mouth tender. We had leftovers for dinner last night and I'll be making soup with some of it tomorrow and there will still be some left. I thought I was buying the right amount for 9 people, but my sister couldn't come and I didn't factor in that my little niece wouldn't eat any and I think between my other sister, my mother and I we have the equivalent of 1 piece. Oh well, it will feed us for a few days. The chocolate birthday cake with white chocolate peppermint mousse filling was good!
Your trip to Melbourne sounds like fun and that soup sounds wonderful! That chocolate you had sounds REALLY REALLY good! yum! I can't believe a small box was $71 though, guess it has to be really good for prices like that. That's funny how hard DH is pushing you, it sounds like he is really enjoying being your personal trainer!
Oh yes, I don't recommend MIC with total body DOMS. Not a good combo at all! I hope your DH doesn't drive you crazy being off work for so long :p
hard... DH its going back to work till the 31st of Jan:confused::eek:
I'm so glad you realized about your camera so quickly and were able to get it back. Was Brandy thinking about getting herself a Tiffany necklace?! I'm afraid to even walk into a store like that! Good for you for havng the will power not to have any of the cupcake!
Good for Brandy doing Insanity, wow. That is funny about her work. When our oldest turned 16 he said that he was thinking about getting a job but decided he didn't want to. I told him I don't want to either, but I like having a house and food. Now that he is in college he wants to have money for things like gas and food, so he finally is appreciating that work is important.

Janie Welcome back, it's good to see you here! Sorry to hear about the trouble with the thermostat, I hope it isn't anything big to repair. It's nice to have a husband who is handy and can fix things like that though isn't it? Great job on all the work you got done.

Oh no, I didn't do 182 push ups, that was only Julie! I did about 30 :rolleyes:That is so sad about your pictures. I did that on a vacation one time. I thought I had all of these great pictures and found out there was no card in the camera. ERRRRRR :mad:
Italian Christmas dinner sounds wonderful. Will you be doing the 7 fishes? I am cooking Christmas Eve dinner for DHs family and then Christmas day for my family. We will do a tenderloin and maybe tuna or some other seafood for Christmas Eve and a turkey roulade for Christmas day.

Julie Great job on PH the other day! Love that one. I didn't think that the step part of MIC was too bad, but the high impact really kicked my butt. I was glad when it was over! Sometimes I like spell check, but it seems like it always corrects me when I don't want it to and doesn't when I want it to!

Eunice How are you doing after Mr Kenny's workout?! And clean max after wards too! Great job!

Julie I hope you aren't coming down with anything! It sounds like you did the right thing sleeping in.

Well yesterday was my rest day. DH was playing golf so I got up and braved the mall. I got there at about 11:00 and didn't leave until after 5:00 I was loaded down with stuff and I am done with my shopping except for my mother and sister. I am trying to get my mother a new cell phone but I'm not sure if I will be able to without being on her account. The guy told me to get the last 4 digits of her SS number and get myself added to her account. I have to say that I am her to do that though, so not sure if I am liking that idea. And I have no idea what to get my sister. Her health is very poor so she really doesn't do much. I may get her some books or something. Now it's time to wrap. This morning I did 30/30 and then the upper body and ab work from BM2. Then I had a hair appt, met my DH for lunch and then just shopped for some little stocking stuffers. I hope everyone is having a great day!

Pam

Today was a shopping day for me and bought 2nd hand warm clothes for the Beach House this Winter. Not exchanging gifts this year, so I'm kinda glad for that. I bought sweaters, wind breaker, lounging pants and sweatshirts. That should do it for this year and most of next. Yikes, I've gained weight! Have to work really hard after the Holidays to get rid of it. Even walking on the beach for hours at a time, did nothing. I'll have to watch what I eat more. Very discouraging.:( Oh, Joey and I (before he left for the beach house) did TBS, abs and stretching.

Julie, Great job yesterday morning on PH. And also on Yoga Relax. How is Maggie doing? Hope all is well. Sounds like a busy time for you. I love how we treat each other too, and comeback because of that. You all are such good cyberspace buddies. Sounds like wonderful plans you have for family Christmas. Enjoy!

Eunice, I bet it is different for you guys to have Christmas in warm weather. How nice though. Hmmmmm, I love turkey and turkey sandwiches. Enjoy them and your wonderful family. Great job on squats, dead lifts, glut and hamstring, and abs. It sounds like you are continuing to get better results by being stronger. Congratulations for doing that, I'm very proud of you, and you should be too. That is a lot of cleaning you did, on the day you exercised so hard. Wow!

Julie, Good for you taking care of yourself like that. Very wise lady.

Pam, Oh, I'm sorry I got things mixed up with the push ups. Da! It truly is nice to have a hubby that knows what he is doing at the beach house or for that matter any house. Such a great handy man. What are 7 fishes? Sounds like a wonderful Christmas Family get to-gether. Have Fun! Love the dinners you will be preparing. YUM! That is a long time shopping. You poor thing. Well, you are almost done. Maybe your sissy would like a Kindle, if you could do that. I love mine, and you don't have to handle a heavy book. It's really cool. It holds literally thousands of books. Great job on 30/30 and the upper body and ab work from BM2.

Will talk again tomorrow, have a good night,

Janie

Eunice Wow 70 kilos for legs , you go girl. And you did house work after that no wonder you are tired. Nice that DH helped you around the house, it sure does make a difference with how fast everything gets done.

Julie Hope your are feeling better and are not coming down with anything. Sometimes resting is the best thing to do.

Pam I think I must have posted wrong because I tried to do TB on Friday but gave up after a couple of minutes because my stomach wasn't doing well. I was doing much better on Saturday though. I really liked AT. At least we don't do food every day during December but I am going out with my team tomorrow for a late lunch and on Thursday there is a potluck. I am going to pass on the potluck though and just bring my lunch. When I am at work I want to snack all day but I am fine at home. Our cats have their spots and sometimes it depends on the time of the year as to where they are. Too funny about Shorty and sleeping in the bowl. Six hours at the mall  that is a long time. For me yoga on Sunday is at the mall so I get there really early so it is easy to get something afterwards. Good job on 30/30 your upper body work and abs.

Janie That weight sneaks up on you really fast doesn't it. Once you get back to a routine it should be easy to lose. I hope that you get your thermostat and hot water tank issues fixed. Nice job on TBS.

Well this morning I really did do TB the premix express #2. I also got my Cathe calendar in the mail today :D. I think this was the first time that I got it in December. It usually doesn't get here until sometime in January.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie mmm I hope you are not coming down with something, taking the extra sleep I bet it made you feel much better for tonights workout. I was very pleasant surprise that I could do that much too. Oh, yes you are pretty lucky not having to do the bathrooms, that's my job and I can't say that I love it, I don't know what the girls do to the mirror in their bathroom I think the rubbed the toothpaste to the mirror instead of their teeth.

Pam when I told DH about the wine club he was very surprise about it, oh today I saw something on a magazine about "people who drinks red wine also must be good for your diet, they say that a study found that wine drinkers had smaller waist than beer or spirits drinkers"of course I thought about you.
Wow that was fast the first dinner, a 13 pound prime rib mmmmm it sounds like a very yummy dinner, I don't think is too bad to have lots of leftover and more now that you are off from work, you don't have to cook for a few days. You did another chocolate peppermint cake?
Oh yes Kenny say that I'm his ginea pig (sp?)... Me too, I hope he doesn't drive me crazy, maybe NOT! we'll see..
Brandy just wanted to get in the store, she tried one, but not the really expensive ones. I was thinking the same, I told them when we got to that store "Here not even think about to going inside" DH say why not, just go. that's why we went in.
Oh yes, I know today she went to work and she say "I'm so over working" hahaha!!!! No, I don't think so, still she is going to keep going maybe not every day but at least 2-3 days per week. The same with Astrid, now she has to think about paying the bills before doing anything else:confused:
I'm not too, too, to bad:confused: my back and midsection are pretty sore, my legs not to bad I think those are going to hit me tomorrow.
That was a long shopping day. I hope you get to figure out what to get to your mom and sister, those kind of presents are the most difficult to get.
Good job doing 30/30 and upper body and abs from BM2. Pretty busy day you had, hair appointment, lunch with your DH, and wrapping presents, wow a very good day.

Janie Good day, shopping too but all for your self and your new house, that sounds like more fun... Don't worry about the weight I think all the stress with all the work you have in the new house, when its all done and you actually get to enjoy everything you'll see that you are going to be fine.
Good for sticking to the workout before Joey left to the beach house.
I think all the cleaning was just because I didn't wanted to sit down, I was like Sam when he run very hard and a lot, he doesn't want to sit, I think its because if he sits he won't be able to get up, I was the same way yesterday.:D

Cheryl Thanks for the compliments on my big leg day!:D Yes DH its doing so much better after 10 years of being married, before he would not get into cleaning action, now he helps and I have to get use to see him helping I need to relax and let him do things, some times I feel like he is mad and that's why he is cleaning but not, I'm just not use to him cleaning.
Good job doing TB express #2, did you got your calendar? How is it? do you like it a lot? I hope I get mine soon.

Today was an easy day since DH its helping with the cleaning, weird! the day was sooooo long, funny too. We went to the field and did sprints that's all we did today, then keep doing laundry, and maintain the house that's all.
We did look into going to Sedney and look for Hotels OMG, for 3 days hotel we need at least $800.00 + gas + food+ souvenirs. I think I'm changing my mind and I'm going to stay home Lol I don't know. Also we look into going to Alice Springs, I think that is the name of the city just to go see the massive red rock I don't know what we are going to do, but we have to do something.
Well good night and talk to you guys latter, have a good day!
OOOHHH Good news QVC ship over DPO's yayayay!!!! being here for over a year and every time I needed my facial creams that I used to order from HSN and have them to ship over to my in-laws house because they don't ship to DPO, but not any more, today I ordered my facial creams :) soooo happy!! I think I'm in so much trouble. hahahahaha!

Janie Oh boy, it sounds like you had a great shopping day and you are all ready for cold weather this winter. I would like not exchanging gifts too. DHs mother just has us pick something out and then she pays for it. I always tell my mother I don't want or need anything so don't get me anything but she does anyway  I told DH not to get me anything this year because I always buy a few things for myself when I am out Christmas shopping, so that is my Christmas gift. I don't know if he'll listen or not, but I hope he does. Yep, weight has a way of just gradually inching up, doesn't it? I sure wish it came off as easily as it goes on  Great job on TBS, abs and stretching with Joey!
Seven fishes is an Italian traditional meal at Christmas where they make 7 different fish dishes for the meal. I don't think there are standard dishes, just any 7 fish dishes. I always thought it sounded like a healthier option to our usual Christmas dinners. Where does your daughter live? Will you have to travel far? I thought about the Kindle for my sister, but she lives with my mom and I got here a Nook last year. I don't think either one of them have ever used the Nook, something about the feel of the book in your hand I guess.....? I'm thinking about getting her the Girl with the Dragon tatoo series because those are such good books.

Cheryl Chances are very good that you posted correctly but I just read it wrong. I did see the part about your stomach not feeling well but thought you said you did it anyway. I was impressed! So glad to hear you were feeling better on Saturday though. We are just the opposite with our snacking! I think when I'm at home I know the pantry is right there so it's easy to grab something. On the weekends I don't do it though, it's only on days when I am working at home....strange  I think it's a stalling technique! Great job for real on doing TB this time! I have never gotten a Cathe calendar, is it worth it? I guess there are discounts every month?

Eunice OMG, I know what you mean about the kids getting toothpaste all over the mirror, how in the world do they do that? At least you don't have little boys, they make quite the mess in the bathroom! I finally told ours that if they kept peeing everywhere they were going to be the ones cleaning the bathroom. Oh yes, there are all kinds of studies about how good red wine is for your health too. I'm telling you, it's good stuff :D
I only did one chocolate peppermint cake, I probably just wrote about it twice. It is my sisters favorite. Unless you are thinking of DHs cake, but that one was white with peppermint cheesecake. I think I would be a little nervous if my DH was using me as his guinea pig. He is always trying to help me stretch, but I am always telling him that stretching is not supposed to hurt! That's funny that DH was the one who said to go ahead an go into Tiffany, tell him he needs to be careful encouraging that! I think my DH would run quickly the other way!
I think it's so funny that Brandy says she is so over working. Tell her she is just getting started! That's really great that she is going to be working though. Our daughter has a job at the cookie store at the mall and volunteers at the vet so she is always working. She really likes to do it though. When we went to the SPCA she got information from them about volunteering there. I don't think she will be able to do that during the school year with the vet and her other job and track and LaCrosse though!
I'm surprised your legs aren't sore yet, you worked them hard!
Nice that you had an easy day thanks to DH helping with the cleaning, that is great! Good job on your sprints too! Wow, that is really expensive to go to Sydney! How far are you from Alice Springs? I'm sure you will find something fun to do.
Congratulations on QVC shipping to you, that is great news!!!

This morning for me was LBB + the bonus barre segment. Ouch is about all I can say. I hadn't done that one for awhile so it was good to do it but my quads are talking to me now! I'm off to make some beef barley soup and hopefully get the last of my shopping done now. Have a great day ladies! Julie I hope you are feeling better!

Pam

Last night I finished off the pushups in Meso 1 with 127 pushups on disc 10. Yeah!!! I am so glad to be done with the pushups … until next time anyway! This morning I did disc 12, legs. I actually had enough time this morning to do the extended stretch. Normally I don’t do it because I don’t have enough time but for some reason I did this morning. It felt pretty good.

Pam Wow, you got a lot done at the mall! I bet that feels great to have it all done except 2. I don’t think I would want to pretend to be my mother either and chance getting caught. Maybe you can buy her a gift certificate that she can use to get the cell phone? Maybe for your sister some books and an assortment of teas. Not sure if she likes tea but I think a good book and hot tea sounds good on a cold day. Great job on 30/30 and BM2 upper body and abs! That sounds like a really good combo. I don’t think I am coming down with anything. I think I was just exhausted from the go-go-go of the weekend. Great job on LBB + the bonus barre segment! I haven’t done that one in forever either. It is a good one. Hopefully you will passing the toilet test tomorrow!

Janie Great job on TBS, abs, and stretching with Joey! Sounds like you are all set with having clothes for the beach house. That’s nice that you will have everything you need there so you don’t have to pack things and move them between houses. It isn’t fair that what we eat can literally outweigh our efforts at working out. Unfortunately, I really do think that diet is the key. I struggle over the winter time too. Not necessarily because of all the holidays just because it is a depressing time of year, no sun, cold, dreary, yucky weather.

Cheryl Great job on TB premix! Seems like it took less time for you to get your calendar than to get the DVDs. Something isn’t right about that at all! I am feeling better today. Much more energy. I think the weekend just drained me because we had so much to get done and we didn’t really get a full lazy day Sunday. Next weekend will be pretty busy too but I will be on my active recovery week so hopefully that will help.

Eunice Great job on your sprints with DH! Plus more cleaning and laundry. I laughed when you said it was an easy day and then said what you did. I guess it seems easy compared to the Leg Max and Clean Max workouts from yesterday. That’s funny about the girls rubbing the toothpaste into the mirror. At least you know they are brushing their teeth though! That is exciting that you can order your face cream directly to you now. Hopefully you will get it faster now. Not coming down with anything but the winter blues/blahs. For some reason I am really finding it hard to want to do cardio. All I want to do is lift whereas before all I wanted to do was cardio. Weird how my preference has changed over time.

Have a great day!

I did one of the Brazil Butt DVD's called Cardio Axe. Man do I like to dance! That was a fun workout. Joey fixed the thermostat but we will need two new elements for the water heater. I bet one day soon, we will also need a new thermostat as well. Just a matter of time, it's 35 years old.

Cheryl, Seems every single year I gain weight during the Holidays. That's the part I don't like about it. It's hard to step back from those wonderful dishes. Great job on TB the pre express #2. Wow, you got the calender in good time. Enjoy it.

Eunice, Thank you for the confidence in me. I think you are right. I shouldn't worry too much about it until Jan. at least. Then I'll work hard to get it off, it's senseless until then. What better way to use up all that excess energy. Cleaning. That's what I would do too.:) Great job on you and hubby doing sprints, cleaning and chores. Nothing wrong in staying home and enjoying everyone's company. What ever you do, enjoy yourselves and your facial creams. ;)

Pam, Your poor mom. When you get in a habit or tradition to do something, it is awful hard to change it. I felt weird a little to have no Christmas here at first, but now I enjoy not having to do all that stuff. Saves me a lot of money and time. But that's me. I bet she enjoys every last bit of Christmas Holiday. Most people do. I think 7 fish night will be in our near future. especially at the beach house. My daughter lives in Samamish and it is far away, about 2.5 hrs. away. We will leave later after dinner. We love to stay in our own beds and wake up to a fresh morning. It's sad they haven't used the reader. Such a great way to read for me. I can carry it with me anywhere too. Then I think a book is good. Girl with the Dragon Tattoos is a good series. They have already made a movie about it. Great job on LBB & Bonus Barr segment. Yep, I love the OUCH effect on this workout. Enjoy your barely soup. That sounds so good to me.

Julie, Great job on yesterday's 127 push ups in Meso 1 on disc 10 and today's disc 12 legs and stretch. Oh yeah, the stretches do feel really good. I agree with you that diet is key. I can't wait for the holidays to be over, it's all to tempting to resist for me. Yep, Winter is a hard season to endure. Can't wait for Spring.

Take care ladies, and stay warm and safe.

Janie

Pam I was laughing thinking about boys making the mess when they go pee, oh girls are not much better they sometimes forget or just don't feel like flashing the toilet  How hard that can be:confused: I'm going to have to experiment with the red wine and see if my west get smaller.
I think I was mixing the cakes I thought that you did your DH cake one more time both were chocolate:p That is so funny that your DH wants to help you stretch, what is his trying to do to you that is hurts? Lol DH won't say anything if I'm doing WO in the garage, but if I'm with him at the gym then yes he tells me what, how, why, and all that stuff, so far so good, today I did bench 50Kilos of course with his help and only once:D:confused: he does the westside barbell method so I guess that's what I'm doing too.
Oh I just showed to DH what I want he say I need to stick with him for another 10 years to get something like that.
I'm very proud of her, she is getting up to do her workout, take a shower then leave to work, today she got pay for the past 2 days so she sees the money and say OK, I'll do it again.
Wow! Your Daughter its busy with her job and volunteering at the vet,and doing sports wow!! how old is she? does she have a boyfriend? she is doing very good.
I told you that my legs would hit me today, and today it is, its even harder to drive and when I'm going to hop up in the car I have to lift my legs with my hands to get them inside the car.
It is very expensive, Alice Springs is maybe one day driving 16-18 hours drive as I'm writing DH is telling me wow! very far away!:confused:
Good job doing LBB+Bonus barre segment, I remember that one being a tough one. mmmm I love barley soup!!! I hope you had fun today doing your final shopping.

JulieCongratulations finishing all those pushups... of course till next time. Good job doing disc 12 legs I'm glad you did the extended stretch now you feel like new. I guess for some reason that was an easy day, the hardest part of the day is getting the girls ready for school, even when they get up early they still spending to much time playing with Sam, watching a little TV, fighting before going to bed, but one more day then we are OFFFF can you see I'm excited? Rachel say that I should be BOOOO but I really like to have my mornings free. Sometimes mail gets here pretty fast last wednesday I ordered porting from bodybuilding some times it takes 2-3 weeks to get here well I did received it today, I'm thinking that my cream are going to be here till next year just because the DPO office is going to be close for the holidays. It is not bad not to want to do cardio, weights are good for you. Enjoy your winter, get all cozy and watch a movie I would love to do that, but now its soooo hot, but we still drinking tea:p DH and I like to have a good cup of tea we but the teavana tea, sooo good!

JanieGood job doing a fun dance workout, I'm glad Joey got to fix the thermostat, so bad that you find something else though, oh well I guess thats the beauty of owning a house you always have to fix something and when your done with that there will be something else. Oh yes we will enjoy our selfs the girls love to stay home during the weekend and go outside and play with their friends and more now that the weather is warm.

Today was upper body, chest/shoulders/back/biceps/triceps wow! I didn't realized till now but we did todays workout and spend more than 2 hours at the gym, I did bench first then DH did his (his 1MR was 135K:eek:) first I did bench I did it until I find my 1MR 2 warmups/ at the end I did 5 sets of 5 and 2 sets of 1, the heavy I did was 50K 1MR DH spotting me whew!! that was hard and I can feel my whole upper body getting sore, my core still sore, my legs are sore finally,I look like an 80 year old lady walking  the rest of the workout wasn't like that it was 4 sets of 8 0r 10's lets see how I do tomorrow, tomorrow it supposed to be rest day.
Have a great day everyone.

Julie Congratulations on finishing the meso 1 pushups! Wow, I can't believe you are almost done with meso 1, it seems like you just started. Great job on that and disc 12 legs. Good for you doing the extended stretch. Even when I have the time, I usually skip it   Oh I felt so much better after getting that big shopping day in. I was really feeling behind on the Christmas shopping. I LOVE your idea of getting my sister an assortment of teas to go with her books. I did get her some books and was thinking that was a little boring and the teas would just be the perfect little something extra. Thanks so much, I am going to do that. Of course that means that now I'm not quite done with my shopping. Oh well, at least I know what I'm getting, that is the hardest part. I ended up getting my mother a pretty bird house since she just put in a pool and landscaped her backyard I thought it would look nice out there. I'm glad to know you weren't coming down with anything. It's terrible to be sick at Christmas time!

Janie Great job on Cardio Axe. I'm still interested in that Brazilian Butt lift series, I think I'll keep it on my list for when I start getting bored with my dvds. It sounds like a lot of fun! Oh boy, there is always something to fix isn't there?! My mom does enjoy the Christmas holiday but she just still works too hard all of the time. She was really happy when I offered to do the dinner last weekend and then when I said I was going to do dinner on Christmas day. As long as I let her bring something then she is happy! She was always thinking that if I made a dinner then she needed to return the favor and have us over. I keep telling her that she fed me my whole life so it's ok for me to do it now! I know what you mean about sleeping in your own bed. That's a long drive but I agree that I like waking up at my own house.
I did get my sister the first 2 books of the Girl with the Dragon tattoo series. I was mad though because they were out of the third one. I may still try to find it between now and Christmas, but I also got her The Help which is such a great book. I need to see that movie too. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens tonight so we may try to go see it.

Eunice One time when our youngest was little there was pee 3/4 of the way up the bathroom door! I swear he must've been trying to see how high he could shoot or something. Of course I had to bring DH in to show him and he couldn't stop laughing. What a mess! I'm glad they are over that phase! Oh yes, once you start drinking that red wine your waist will just shrink ;):D Sometimes when I'm stretching DH will come along and push on my leg to make me stretch farther. He figures he is helping, but I always have to tell him to be careful. Holy cow, 50 kilos for bench?? I can't even do 50 pounds. That is amazing! It sounds like he is really proud of how well you are doing! What is the westside barbell method? I have never heard of it. You should tell DH that if he WANTS you to stick with him for another 10 years then he needs to get that gift for you now :p;) JK of course!
Oh yes, getting that money can help with the motivation to work. Good for her getting up and doing her workout in the morning too. I wish Ashley would do that, but I don't know how to get her into working out. She does do track and LaCrosse, but more for the social aspect than the exercise! She is 17, a senior in High School and off to college next year. She is so sad right now though because she applied at NC State which is her #1 choice for college. They have early action which means you apply early and hear back early. She just heard back but didn't get accepted :( She hasn't been rejected though, she was deferred, which means she has to wait until March to find out if she'll get in or not. She has been accepted at 2 other schools so far though, but she really has her heart set on NC State. She doesn't have a boyfriend, I don't think she has time for one!
Oh boy, that's funny that your legs are so sore that it's hard to drive! I know they will be feeling better soon though, until you do it to them again! Oh 16-18 hours is a long drive!!
Great job on your upper body workout! I can relate to that old lady walk!

This morning for me was Low Max. I have only done that one a few times and every time I do it it feels sooooo long. I'm not sure why, it's not a bad workout but for some reason seems to drag for me. I was surprised that I don't have DOMS after yesterday's LBB, but now I remember that I don't ever get DOMS from that one for some reason  very strange. Anyway, today is cookie day. I'm going to be baking all day. My niece put in her request for my sugar cookies. I made 2 batches at Halloween and shared with my mother and sister both times but they wouldn't give her any! So I'm making a triple batch this time and will give her her own plate to take home. Also menu planning for all of the big dinners so I can do the grocery shopping tomorrow. I thought I was done Christmas shopping but looks like I have to go buy some tea now thanks to Julie! ;):p Have a great day everyone!

Pam

This morning I did Cardio Kicks! That one always makes me smile. I love the big guy. He looks like he should be in the weight room not in a kickboxing class. But his smile always makes me smile.

Janie Great job on the BB Cardio Axe! I am not a dancer but I love watching other people dance. I just have two left feet and no rhythm so I am amazed to watch people who do. That’s great that Joey was able to fix the thermostat and sounds like he will be able to do the water heater once you get the elements. 35 years is pretty old for any appliance. Hope you can at least get a few years out of it to save up for the new one. Waiting until January 1st to work on losing weight sounds like a plan to me. I say the holidays only come around once and we should enjoy them.

Eunice Great job on your upper body workout! 2 hours in a long time to be in the gym. I think my longest workout ever has been Body Max 2 at 97 minutes. LOL! I’ve had those days were you hobble around like an old lady although really my hobble was more like a pregnant lady’s waddle. I bet you will have nice full body DOMS to enjoy on your rest day. Yep I can remember being a little kid and taking my sweet time to get out of bed or get easily distracted so I didn’t have to get ready for school or church. Enjoy having your mornings not having to get two little ones ready for their day. What kind of tea is teavana? I’ll have to look that up. I love almost all kind of teas except chamomile. It makes my tongue feel fuzzy.

Pam Great job on LM! I know what you mean about it dragging. It is about 9 minutes longer than the other Imaxes but I think it feels long because Cathe breaks down the step routines unlike the other Imaxes. Hmm. That is strange that you don’t get DOMS from LBB but then again I can’t remember if I get them. I am making sugar cookies for my family’s Christmas too. That is so sad that your sister and mother wouldn’t share with your niece. I like your idea of making her own plate. I am sure she will appreciate it. Sorry to have put more shopping on your shoulders. Hopefully you can find a good assortment easily. The birdhouse sounds like a great gift for your mom. I can’t believe I am almost done with Meso 1 either. It sure flies by. I’m kind of hoping Meso 2 & 3 fly by because then it will be the beginning of March and that means almost Spring time! That is sad that Ashley got wait-listed to get into NC State. I wonder if it is because of her major. I remember getting a letter from my college that I was being deferred admission because of the number of students enrolled in my same major. I ended up getting in for the time I wanted but it was still disappointing at first.

Have a great day!

It was a busy day yesterday and I didn't get a chance to post. We went out for our team's Christmas lunch and my staff got me a $60 restaurant gift certificate. That was really nice of them and totally unexpected. We will see about using it next week. The nice thing is the restaurant is about a 5 minute walk from our place. So yesterday I managed to get up early again and did Low Impact Challenge. I am still learning the steps on that one so after the first segment I had to lower the step so I didn't hurt myself . Today I took as my day off and tomorrow I have my alarm set to get up early again.

Janie I will have to look up Cardio Axe. It has a very interesting name :D. There is always something to fix isn't there. At least your thermostat is fixed for now. You are not alone in gaining weight over the holidays. It is hard to turn down everything. I was surprised when I got my calendar in the mail. I really wasn't expecting it until January.

Eunice I like the calendar, I hope you get yours soon. It is always so hard waiting. You are doing really well in lifting heavy. Sounds like DH is working your hard.

Pam I like getting the Cathe calendar I have bought it every year. I have it down in my workout room. You don't get discounts every month just until Dec 25th you get a 20% off coupon. Good job on Low Max. I don't feel like that workout flys by but I don't think I find it drags either. Funny how we all feel different about each of the workouts. Have fun with your bake fest. It is nice to have a full day to do that.

Julie That one guy in Cardio Kicks does look like he should be in the weight room instead. He does really well in it though. Congratulations in finishing all of the push ups in Meso 1. It always feels so good to get them out of the way. I am glad that you are feeling better. With so much going on at this time of the year you don't want to be sick.

Well time for bed if I am going to get up early. Have a great Thursday everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on Cardio Kicks. I love that big guy in that one too. i can't imagine my DH would EVER do a kickboxing class, but I love to see the guys doing the workouts. I was wishing I'd had your tea idea when I was at the mall the other day because there is a teavana there. I ended up just getting her some nice twinings teas at the grocery store since I don't want to venture back to the mall! I think I remember when LBB first came out some other people posting that they were surprised because they didn't get DOMS too. Very strange since it sure feels like it going to hurt the next day when you are doing it!
I made a triple batch of sugar cookies - about 6-7 dozen, so my niece will get plenty of them this time! Today I have to frost and decorate them, but they are all baked. That is nice to look forward to, you will be finishing STS as spring arrives. And just think how fast STS always goes by! It could be Ashley's major that caused her problems because she wants to do pre-vet. We have been telling her that vet school is harder to get into than med school, but she really has her heart set on it. I hope she gets in, but she has other good options if not. Her brother had his heart set on Duke and wasn't accepted and now he says he's so glad that he wasn't! It's also easier to transfer in as a sophomore, so that is always an option for her to keep in mind if she doesn't end up getting accepted.

Cheryl That is so nice that your staff got you a gift certificate, very thoughtful! It's nice having a restaurant that you can walk to too! Great job on getting up and doing LIC. Is it getting any easier to figure out?! I know a lot of people get the Cathe calendar, maybe I should get one next year.

Last night we went to see the Girl with the Dragon tattoo. It was really good but really graphic. It is pretty true to the book and the actress who plays Lisbeth is amazing. She was perfectly cast for the role. We went to our favorite little pizza place after and I got my favorite chopped salad. I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst stomach ache I have ever had in my life. I ended up spending an hour or so of my night in a ball on the bathroom floor just sweating like crazy. My stomach hurt so bad and if I moved it made it worse. Then finally at some point I got that feeling that I knew I was going to throw up. The weird thing is that I didn't, but once that feeling passed I felt better  I went back to bed and was so cold my whole body was shaking. I'm guessing it was my chopped salad :( So needless to say, no workout for me this morning. I am feeling ok, just a little shaky now and am just sipping tea and may try a piece of toast. I have too much to do! I hope everyone has a great day!

Pam

I’ve noticed that on the days that I sleep in and do my STS upper body workout in the afternoon, I feel more energized than if I had gotten up and done some other activity in the morning. So I decided to test that theory one more time and slept in today. ;) Tonight I will do disc 11, back & triceps.

Cheryl Great job on LIC! I have only done LIC in its entirety once since receiving it. I may put it on tap for my active recovery week next week, we’ll see. You are doing great getting up early … much better than I am. These last two weeks at work have been so busy and stressful, I think that may be contributing to my wanting to sleep in a little. Plus I am really starting to get on board with the less cardio to allow your muscles to recover from the lifting. I am afraid that I will get out of the habit of getting up early so I probably need to just get up and do a Stretch Max or Yoga (there we go again !). That was a very nice gift to receive. That will be nice for you and DH to go out some night, hopefully when it is nicer weather.

Pam I’m so sorry you had such a terrible night. :( Stomach aches are terrible especially so bad like you described. I do hope you feel better soon. Especially so you can get the cookies decorated. Hopefully that doesn’t deter you from getting your favorite chopped salad again in the future. I know when DH got sick off of undercooked fried chicken, it took him a long time to eat it again. I didn’t intend to plan STS to end right as winter was ending but I think it will help winter go by fast. I hope Ashley gets into pre-vet. But as you say if not she always has other options and sometimes things don’t work out like we want but they still work out for the best.

Have a great day!

PS Happy (not) 1st day of winter! 90 days to Spring!!!!

Yesterday was AT. OMG! So challenging! I couldn't move there for awhile LOL:D, in my puddle of sweat. Whew! Joey should be coming home today. Heater is now fixed as well. I haven't had a cold for a long long time, but wouldn't you know it, I have one now and just in time for Christmas. I think it's going to be a doozy. Must have caught it when I was shopping for sweaters and stuff.

Eunice, It looks like your DOM's really hit you hard. You poor thing. Great job on today's upper body, chest/shoulders/back/biceps/triceps. Two hours at the gym? I don't ever remember working more than an hour and a half. Good for you. Those are some hardcore workout. You go girl!

Pam, On Christmas day I bring a special something to eat too, like your mom. It feels like I'm contributing as well when I do this. Ah, your mom sounds like such a kind and sweet person. Bummer about not finding the 3rd book of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Hope you find one before Christmas. I've read The Help. Very good book. I'm reading The Hunger Games right now. OMG! On the second one so far and these books are really great. Might consider picking this series up for birthdays or a just because. It hold my attention a lot. Once you read a book and then watch the movies, it is such a let down, don't you think? There is so much that the movie makers leave out. I guess it's hard to put everything in a two hour span. Great job on LM. It is a long workout, 70 min. if I remember right. I would love to be at your house while smelling the wonderful baking. YUM!

Julie, Great job on Cardio Kicks. I'm not good at dancing either, I have a little rhythm but love to do it anyway. LOL:D Yep, I'm going to enjoy the holiday and not worry about gaining weight. I'll catch up, and have a plan.

Cheryl, Wow! How nice that you got a $60 gift certificate from your staff. How very thoughtful of them. Great job on LIC. Cardio Axe is a fun cardio, I wouldn't say it's a sweat fest or anything like that, just fun. I needed fun that day to get me going. Guess what? I bought a calendar yesterday. It will be part of my plan to lose weight next year.

Pam, Now I can't wait to see that movie! Especially if it is close to the books. OMG! So sorry to here you had gotten food poisoning. That is not fun at all. You might have felt better if you had thrown up. You poor thing! Joey and I rarely go to restaurant any more, because of all the things they use in cooking that we have a hard time with in our digestive system. Aging people (like Joey and me) with sensitive systems can really feel the effects of things more.

Julie, Ah, Spring just around the corner. Can't wait! I hope you have more energy doing workouts in the afternoon. Fingers are crossed for you.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Well I got up to try to workout this morning but my legs felt like lead . It is not so easy for me anymore to get up early to get my workout in. Oh to go back to my younger years when it wasn't a problem at all.

Pam This was only my second time through LIC and it wasn't any easier to figure out . I think I will need to do it several more times before it gets easy. I like getting the calendar. I have bought all of them since Cathe starting selling them. Glad that you like the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I tried to read the book but I just couldn't get into them. It sounds like you had food poisoning. I hope that doesn't put you off your favorite salad. Did you contact the restaurant to let them know?

Julie I know I have more energy in the afternoons if I sleep longer, the only problem is that stuff can get in the way of getting it done. How did it go for Disk 11? This was only my second time with LIC and I still need to work on the moves :D. I am not doing that great at getting up early as you can see from my first paragraph . With doing less cardio are you noticing more definition in your muscles? I see the countdown to Spring is on, only 90 days to go!!!!

Janie AT is a killer isn't it. You know it was a good workout when you are in a puddle of sweat at the end. I hope your cold goes away soon. People at work are coming down with the cold and flu right now. Tis the season . I saw in OD that you got one of the extra calendars. It is good to mark your progress down in.

Well I am now on vacation (Happy Dance). I don't have to go back until January 3rd. Yeah!!!!!

Happy Friday everyone.

Cheryl

Pam OMG, No boys here! So no idea how trouble makers they are, I bet your DH was so proud of his boy! Or not!!:p tell your DH be careful not to brake you...I think we ALL are very capable of lifting heavy but we don't do it because no one its pushing us or we don't have the help from a partner, its a lot better when you workout with someone that knows and its there to catch the barbell or me. I'm not sure about the westside method I think you split the workout in 2, lower/upper 4 times per week also is something about doing heavy weight very little reps/then when you repeat you so 50% of the 1MR do 2 reps, but with speed. I didn't get to workout today so I haven't done the second part.
Your DD Ashley is one year older than Brandy, good for her for knowing what she wants and working or volunteering on doing what she like s too, I think all the girls do sports for the social aspect side. I hope she gets to go to the college she really wants. Brandy doesn't have idea on what she wants to do. she is really good at Math she talks about being a dentist, DH say that she need to be really good at school because we cannot afford that.
Good job doing Low Max, I haven't done that one in soooo long, I don't remember being grad doing that one. When I did LBB it was with hard rock bottom rotation I think it was a day after Buts & Guts so I was sore for ever.
You did bake lots of cookies. I'm not baking a lot I did only chocolate-peppermint thumbprints from Martha Steward they look pretty, I haven't have one yet DH say that they are good.

Julie Good job doing Cardio Kicks. I kind don't like those guys in the video, wait. Is this one an oldie one? because in the Hiit Series they are also the big guys I do like those guys. Yes, we did 2 hours because I did bench all of my sets then DH did his and I waited for him to finish his sets. so I did waist some time watching him working out.
OMG, this summer break its going to be a loooonnnggg one. Teavana tea its really good and fancy and expensive, my in-laws gave us a tea pot with lots of teas 3 years ago, we don't really order that much since we had being here I had ordered twice, you can go to teavana.com and check them out.

Cheryl That was very nice from your stuff to get you a gift card that its easy to use at walking distance:p Good for you for doing Low Impact Challenge, very smart of you for lowering the step so you wouldn't get hurt. I thought that for once I would get the calendar early, but not such a luck we got mail today but the office was close and no one went to picked it up, so everything will be here until next year, even Brandy's presents:confused:

Pam I'm glad that you liked the movie. So sooorryyy :( you got sick last night, Oh boy it sounds like its was really painful :( I hope you feel so much better today, I bet you are not feeling up to cook. So sorry!!

JulieGood job for taking the morning off and getting ready for tonights workout. Are you counting the days till winter is over? silly girls:p:D

Janie Good job for doing AT, so good for you. So sorry that you catch a cold, take care! Now is the time for soups. Yeah working out with DH take some time, of course I was so ready to get back home and eat I was starving.

Cheryl You were sore this morning? Don't worry we all want to be back to our younger years, for me this summer its a drag I don't know why but I'm so lazy, and tired I hardly want to cook diner for the family. Enjoy your vacation have fun.:D

Today I was going to do legs with DH but we got up with the wrong foot this morning we had a little discussion so we didn't go to workout, I cleaned the house, do some protein bars, bake oatmeal, and bake chicken pizza, my day has being pretty bad today, I don't feel energized I can't wait till gets dark to go to bed, Oh man but right now its almost 9.00pm and the sun stills ups, I'm thinking that we are going to have a very long and boring summer.
I hope you guys have a better day.:( Good night!

Julie I'm not surprised that you are more energized the days you 'sleep in', you get up so early! Great job on disc 11! Oh yes, it was a bad night, but the good news is that it went away as fast as it came. Other than my stomach feeling a little queasy yesterday I felt fine. I had toast for breakfast and soup for lunch, I just didn't put any hot sauce in it like I usually do. It's a good thing it went away so fast too because I had NO time to be sick! I didn't even want a salad at home last night. I hope that doesn't last long because I love salads!
OMG, the first day of winter is already over! It was 72 degrees here yesterday too, crazy. We have a front coming through today that will bring us down into the 40's though. ick

Janie Great job on AT! That is a great one isn't it? I bet you are feeling it today!I'm glad to hear that Joey got the heater fixed at the beach. So sorry to hear about your cold. Take care of yourself :(
It does really help when people bring something for dinner. I am doing big dinners tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday, but people are bringing stuff each time which makes it a lot easier. I already have most of tonight's dinner ready and the potatoes and dessert for tomorrow is done too! I am going to have to check out the Hunger Games series. Always looking for good books, although I don't have as much time to read as I used to. I agree that movies are usually a let down after reading a book, it's hard to go into the level of detail in only 2 hours. I really thought they did a good job with this one though. You will have to see it!

Cheryl Sorry to hear your legs were feeling so bad yesterday morning. I hate it when my body doesn't want to cooperate with me! Oh no, I hate that LIC wasn't any easier to get the second time. I know it'll be a challenge for me the next time I try it because I haven't done it in so long so I don't remember any of it. A lot of people said that they had trouble getting into the first book of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. I think I got through it because I had that expectation set going in. I have not contacted the restaurant but I need to do that today!

Eunice Oh yes, boys can be trouble makers but girls can do their part in that respect too! I'm always telling my DH to be careful not to break me and he just tells me that he knows I'm tough  I agree that it is easier to lift heavier if you have someone to work out with. Both to push you but also to help you as you said. It's not very safe to try to lift too heavy if you are alone. Yes, Ashley has always known what she wants to do. Nothing like her brothers in that respect. She is diligent too, it she wants something she doesn't give up so we are encouraging her with that. Oh dentist is a great job. I told Ashley if I had to do it over again I'd be a dentist. Most of them only work 4 days a week and they make good money. She thinks being a dentist sound disgusting  Tell Brandy to get really good scholarships. That's what I told Ashley when she was applying to out of state schools. I said the only way she's going to one of them is if they give her really good scholarships because we aren't paying out of state tuition!
Oh I saw your chocolate peppermint prints on FB and they look so good!
Oh so sorry to hear you had a bad day :( Big hugs to you, I hope you have a better day tomorrow!!!

This morning Step max was on the calendar but I don't like that one so I did another oldies, step works. I'm feeling 100% today which is a good thing since we have the golfer party tonight. I have most of the cooking done, but I need to go get it finished up and get the cleaning done and the table set. I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Have a great day everyone!

Pam

Last night I finished Meso 1 with disc 11, back & triceps. I’d like to say I’m done with the pull-ups but sadly they are all over the warmup in Meso2. Oh well! Anyway, despite waking up at midnight this morning and not being able to go back to sleep, I did get out of bed and did a spinning DVD led by Josh Taylor. It is basically 5 heavy hill climbs at various time lengths. So not that varied but it did the trick this morning.

Janie Great job on AT! I love that one and feel like it works you out so well from head to toe and is definitely a sweat fest too. So glad you got the heater fixed. Bummer on the cold. Take it easy and maybe do less intense workouts if you feel up to it. Hope you get better soon. Being sick is no fun but being sick over the holidays is even worse.

Cheryl I have had those days were my legs feel like lead. Not recently but I remember one time trying to do a step workout and tripping over my step constantly because my legs were too heavy to pick up. I don’t think that workout lasted the whole length of time. Some days it is there and some days I just don’t want to. Disk 11 went pretty well. It went by super fast and I only had to back down on weight/reps a couple of times. I’m not noticing more muscle definition but I do feel stronger, have more energy, and definitely can feel my muscles more. So the less cardio isn’t getting rid of my fat layer but that could also be because I am not watching what I eat. It is the holidays and I plan to enjoy them. Enjoy your vacation. Now you can sleep in and do your workout whenever you want.

Eunice Bummer you didn’t get your workout in and you had a little tift with DH. At least you got a lot of cleaning and baking done. Cardio Kicks is an older one. The guy I really like reminds me of Evander Holyfield for some reason. He just seems like a boxer and a bodybuilder all rolled into one. Oh that makes sense that even though you spent 2 hours at the gym you were not lifting the entire time. I was super impressed there though. Yep there is a countdown till Spring. I am not a fan of winter. Well I’m hoping my winter goes fast and if it does that should mean your summer will go fast.

Pam Great job on Step Works! Subbing an oldie for an oldie. At least you still got to see the scrunchies and spandex! I’m kind of nervous that if I sleep in two days a week so I can do the upper body STS in the afternoon that I will start to get out of the habit of wanting to wake up early. Although I also wonder if the reason I couldn’t sleep last night is because I got extra sleep Thursday morning. Guess I got a week to think about before I start Meso 2. Wouldn’t that be something to not eat healthy salads because you got food poisoning from one. So glad you feeling better. If it had lasted longer, I’d be worried about e coli on the lettuce or something like that. Have fun at your party!

Have a great day!

Pam Good job finishing meso 1 and all those favorite of yours... pushups :D:D I know you are good at them. Pull ups too, I know they are in meso 2 but you'll love them for sure. And also for doing the spin this morning.
I need to do something today, besides baking:mad: Well at least you thought that I was a super woman spending 2 hours lifting at the gym;) I kind of like this year, summer doesn't feel as bad as last year this year I can handle the heat and as long as the floors don't get wet I'm fine.

Pam hahaha!! yes you are tough, but very delicate too. So nice that Ashley know what she wants and she is being diligent about it. I kind of like the job Dentist for Brandy I hope she keeps up with good grades so she can get a good scholarship, so your DD got scholarship? that's awesome.
Oh DH and I having a rough time but we are going to make it.
Good job doing step works I always do that in my recovery week. I like it a lot.
I'm glad that you are feeling 100% good now you don't want to be sick in a busy weekend. Wow!! You are good almost done with everything.

Today I went early groceries and right now I'm going to do total body STS I need some good kick.
Later I'm going to bake, I know I shouldn't but I will I'm making the Hummingbird cake I hope its good. Have a great day everyone:D.

Eunice Too bad that you couldn't get to the post office today. At least you won't need your calendar for another week or so. Sorry about the tiff with your DH this morning. I hope everything is OK between the two of you again. I hate it when it is 9:00 pm and the sun is still up it is so hard to get to sleep. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Pam I hate it too when my body doesn't want to do what I want it to. I think I need to do LIC more often to get the steps down. Once I learn the steps I never forget them. I was told that the first 75 pages were quite boring in the book, but I got past that point but still couldn't get into it. I am more of a Si-Fi kinda girl :D. Step Works is a fun workout. Glad that you were feeling better to do it. Have fun with your party tonight.

Julie Nice that you are done Meso 1. The pull ups are hard but I would rather try and do those instead of those push ups. Good for you to get up after not much sleep and do your spinning DVD. It is hard when your legs are not cooperating. I have tripped over my step before because my legs are too heavy to pick up. It is good to feel stronger and have more energy. Once Christmas is over and we can get back into a proper eating routine you will start to see the muscles more.

This morning our neighbours came over at 8 am to drop off their futon for us. They are moving back to Australia and needed to get rid of a lot of stuff. It was sad to see them go. The husband is the person that I did the Bootcamp with in the summer. So after they dropped off the futon I did Cardio Supersets. Sweat was dripping off of me after that one. Then I did some running around and got all of the housework done. All I have to do tomorrow in laundry which feels really good.

Happy Christmas Eve

Cheryl
