Strength in Numbers

I was having pain on my ball of my right foot. It got worse until I couldn't help bu limp on it. I'm sure with about a week without doing too much walking on it, it should be OK. If not then will see a doctor. Shoot! That mean no walking the beach for a while. Still playing an hour a day on my guitar and making progress. YaHoo! Tomorrow will do hours of yard work, weeding.

Pam, Yes everyone takes a project that is in need of finishing and works on it when they get to the group. Many different projects going on at the same time. It's so cool! Yes, we get a certain amount of band width, but sometimes it gets very low and Joe needs to buy more. Usually we make it through. You are so good with your workouts and doing extra ones when you feel you need to just because they are on the calender. You are so good. Yikes! I'd say you did get a little (I'd say a lot) extra workout hauling tree branches and LOGS around. Wow! Great job on this morning disc 13 legs and more hauling yard stuff around yet again. PAM!

Pam Wow 100 is hot. It has been in the 90s here so not much cooler. I can't imagine CCC getting easier for me. Good for you in not finding it too hard. I would' feel guilty about not finishing the last set of ab exercises, you need to look after

Janie yard work is exercise so I wouldn't worry about missing.I know that things do get in the way.

So I never got my yoga in yesterday. We did grocery shopping and after we got home and had dinner our neighbours came over to visit. However I did get some homemade sushi that my neighbour made. It was really good. Today though I did get flex train done. That was a sweat feast.

Janie Uh oh, that doesn't sound good about your foot. You are definitely smart to rest it for awhile. What a shame to miss your beach walks, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do! That will just give you more time for that guitar playing. You'll still be getting plenty of exercise with all of that yard work! UFO sounds like a lot of fun, that is a really great group that you found. Well after all of your praise for my workouts I didn't do one this morning. My knee starting acting up suddenly yesterday afternoon and didn't feel any better this morning, so I decided a step workout was not the right thing for it. Hopefully it will be feeling better soon. I should still be able to do my back and biceps workout tomorrow at least.

Cheryl Yes, it was very hot for a few days, but so far we are having a much cooler summer than normal. We would typically be in the 90s most days by now, but we are only seeing them here and there. I didn't really say CCC was easier, but I think I always build it up in my head so much that it doesn't seem as bad as I've imagined. if that makes any sense! Sorry you weren't able to get your yoga in. That homemade sushi sounds good. I'm impressed!!!

So this morning was supposed to be step moves, but yesterday afternoon the back of my knee starting hurting quite a bit. It was still bothering me this morning so I decided rest would be a better idea. I wrapped it in an ace bandage which is helping, but I'm hoping it's just a temporary thing. It was very strange, maybe I overdid it in the leg workout yesterday morning....:confused: We are supposed to ski and then have a picnic at the lake with another couple tonight, hopefully the knee will cooperate. Skiing shouldn't be a problem though since the knees don't do much :) We might get rained out anyway, there is about a 50% chance if a storm this afternoon and it is looking very gray out there now....We shall see. Lots and lots of gardening today. Whew! My foot is feeling really good, but don't want to push it, so will keep resting it until Monday. With my guitar practice I think I'm improving.

Cheryl, Yummmmy, homemade sushi. Great job on Flex Train. Yep that one is a sweat fest. Good for you!

Pam, I know, I truly do miss walking the beach. Darn! And I've been playing more guitar because of it and also weeding big time. I ache all over. I think you are smart listening to your body and taking it easy. It's OK not to an exercise everyday. You do want to rest your body at least 24 hours in a week. How was your knee when you skied? Hope it didn't rain while you were out on the lake.

Will be doing weeding yet again today. There is still so much to do. Should have done this in the Spring while it was easier to pull up weeds. Live and learn.

Happy Monday ladies, not sure how that happened again so fast!

Janie I'm glad to hear that your foot is doing better and that you are improving with your guitar playing. Very fun! It sounds like you are getting quite the workouts with your gardening. That is one job that is never done. It seems like I just finish taking care of the weeds and I have to start all over again. :confused: It sounds like you will be able to get your beach walks in again soon. I bet Rolly is missing them too! Luckily my knee did just fine when we skiied AND we didn't get rained on. Double bonus :D

So we went to the lake Friday evening, had perfect weather, we both skiied great and had a very nice picnic. Then Saturday morning I did disc 15 back and biceps. My knee was feeling quite a bit better, but I could still feel it. I'm pretty sure it was strained a little bit from my leg workout on Thursday. It was good to have another day without cardio on Saturday though. We skiied again on Saturday afternoon. Neither one of us did as well as Friday night, but we still had a good ski. That night we took dinner over to a friend who had her hip replaced last week. She is doing so well! The surgery was Monday and she was already walking on Tuesday! Yesterday I did the Step Moves workout that I skipped on Friday and then made dinner for my mother and brother because he is going back to Bangkok tomorrow. This morning was Hiit Pyramid and I added core #1 from XTrain. That seemed harder than the last time I did it.....:confused: I hope everyone has a great day.

I had a good week off from working out. I actually started to miss it towards the end which was good. Friday night we picked up my sister’s dogs. She is going on vacation and we are watching them for her. So now we have four dogs in our house until the 22nd. Luckily her dogs sleep in crates or else there would be no room in the bed for me and DH with all four of them. Plus she has bulldogs and they snore loud! I need my sleep and snoring and me trying to sleep do not work well together. Saturday I started month 10 of Get Glutes. I also started to add a tabata at the end of my Saturday and Sunday Get Glutes workouts. I missed Cathe!

Cheryl MMM! Homemade sushi sounds yummy. Is it still hot your way? We are getting unseasonably cool temps this week. Apparently it is another polar vortex that is hitting us. Minnesota is supposed to get lucky to hit 50 this week. Wait, isn’t it summer?

Janie So sorry about your foot. You are doing good to keep off it so it can heal. You are doing a lot of weeding too and I agree that can count as a workout.

Pam Great job on all the workouts. I don’t know how the weekends fly by so fast. You had a packed weekend but looks like you had fun too. Wow Bangkok. Does he live there?

It's been about a week and Rolly and I walked the beach. Picked up lots of stones. This is what I did with them.

Joey asks: Why all left feet? LOL! Don't know, was in the moment.

My foot is doing much better. A little sore today, but not too bad. And today because it was misty didn't do weeding. I'll do it tomorrow. I'm a procrastinator.

Pam, I know that is what will happen to me. Get all the weeds taken care of and then start all over again. Ugh, O well, such as life. Glad to hear you went to the lake and skied and a picnic then skied Sat. and Sun as well. How fun. Great job on disc 15, back and biceps. So nice to hear your knee is feeling better. Always nice to see friends when they are laid up. How sweet to bring her dinner. And she's walking after a hip replacement last week?!? Wow, that is amazing especially when the surgery was on Mon. and she walking the next day. WOW! Great job on Step Moves yesterday and made dinner yet again except this time for your mother and brother. Aww he is going back to Bangkok. I'm sorry about that.:( I'm sure you will be worried about him. Great job on this mornings HiiT Pyramid and an added core workout from XTrain.

Julie, Glad to see you took a week off from working out. Enjoy watching the dogs, it's fun. I just finished watching my daughters. Glad to hear you still can have room in your beds without the added two doggies. LOL Congrats starting on Mon. Month 10 of Get Glutes with the addition of tabata at the end. I would be missing Cathe too!

That is a great idea adding the tabata at the end of our GG to get your Cathe fix! Great job on starting month 10 of GG too! Yes, my brother lives in Bangkok. He traveled there a lot when he was working and moved there when he retired. He is 60 and just married a 22 year old Thai girl...... :confused::rolleyes:

Janie Yea! I'm so happy you got to go for a walk on the beach. I just love your little feet! You are so creative, I am always impressed with what you come up with. LOL on them all being left feet, I hadn't even noticed that! I'm glad that your feel is doing better too. I don't blame you for not wanting to weed in the mist, that is no fun at all. It's bad enough weeding when it's nice out! Oh no, I won't be worried about my brother at all, he's having the time of his life! :D

Pam I am glad that you were able to get some skiing in and it didn't rain on you. Good job on disc 15 back and biceps. I hope your knee keeps getting better. Wow your friend recovered quickly from the hip surgery. To already be walking is great. Good job on Step Moves and HiiT pyramid.

Julie You know the week off helped when you start missing your workouts. Too funny about your sister's dogs. It is hotter than what I like, I hate sitting in the shade and still feel sweat running down my back. As I told Pam I will gladly send some heat out your way.

Well I haven't done much of anything. I did yoga on Sunday but not much else. The heat is really bothering me and I haven't been able to sleep so no energy to work out. It has been hard enough just to get out of bed. It is suppose to be cooling down later this week so I am hoping to get some energy back.

Cheryl Sure, send some of that heat our way! I'll take too hot over too cold any day! My knee is doing a lot better but I am still feeling it a little. It's probably a good thing that I am traveling next week and probably won't be getting my workouts in. Great job on your yoga on Sunday and try to survive that heat. I hope it cools down just enough, but not too much! :D

This morning for me was Athletic Step. I am supposed to do yoga abs too, so hopefully will remember to do that this evening. There just wasn't enough time this morning. have a great day!

Weeded big time today (it will last all Summer and beyond), walked the beach with Rolly, and rode my tricycle. Fun, fun, fun! Put a few pairs of stone feet in the rose, lily and Iris garden around our porch and deck. Would you call that little space a garden? LOL

I did Get Glutes on Tuesday. I had a tough time with it and not sure if it was the week off or if work stress is getting to me. I felt weaker than when I finished month 9. Hoping things feel better tonight and I have more energy. Anyway, I attached some pictures of my sister’s bulldogs. She has an English Bulldog named Chloe and a French Bulldog named Otis. Gotta love those smashed in faces but sometimes I worry they are not getting enough oxygen with their breathing sounds.

Janie Love the little left feet. So adorable, and I didn’t notice they were all left feet until I read Joey’s comment. You are so good with weeding. I gave up on my flower garden and just let DH weed whack it. Next year we are going to redo the flower bed and fill it with rock.

Cheryl I can understand not wanting to work out when it is so hot. Being that hot out is exhausting and draining to the body. Hope you get some cooling off relief soon.

Pam Great job on disc 16 and Athletic Step! Back to traveling. Anywhere fun?

Janie Great job on your weeding, beach walk AND riding your tricycle!!! That is awesome. I bet those feet look adorable in your garden. I think you can call any size space a garden. I was really feeling the triceps work from the day before when I did the yoga inspired abs. I didn't realize how much you use your triceps in that one before! Things have been busy for me and more so for my DH. Things should calm down after next week though.

Julie Great job on GG, sorry to hear you were feeling weak, it was probably just an off day. I'm sure all of the stress at work is wearing on you too. Oh those dogs are so cute. English bulldogs are my favorite! My friend was dog sitting one once and we took it to the lake. It really loved the water and wanted to be in it all the time, but we discovered that they sink! At least this one did. We were so nervous that it was going to drown, we had to watch it every second.
Yes, I am going somewhere very fun, Paris! I'm looking forward to it, but also looking forward to having it finished, f that makes any sense at all :confused:

I did do my yoga abs last night, even though I *almost* forgot. My hands could not handle all of the plank sequence at the end though. When they got numb I just went down to my elbows and held a regular plank for the rest of the time. This morning was disc 17 legs. I was a little nervous about it since it was the leg disc that messed up my knee last week, but I went lighter on the calves which I think was the culprit. Hopefully it will be fine. Weeded for 3 hours. I know, I should have been on top of all this in the Spring and I didn't. Now I pay the price. But what I did do is looking really good. No beach today. This will take all Summer, I'm sure. It's a good thing for my body.

Julie, Oh Julie, I'm sorry about the flower garden. Darn! Rocks instead of flowers. Ok, then you can make little stone or rock feet, yes?:D Great job on Tues. Get Glutes. Perhaps tough because of both. Shouldn't take long at all to have a better day. Your muscles got a really good workout. They don't know any better just keep up the good work. Chloe and Otis are adorable! I sometimes wonder too if those dogs get enough air.

Pam, Those feet really do look awesome in a garden. Escpecially when you turn one to the side and the other straight. LOL I'm going to have them everywhere, well maybe. :D When I do yoga it seems you do work extra hard on certain muscle groups. Depends which one you do I guess. But I feel DOM"S from yoga more than I do with other exercises. Great job on yoga abs last night. I know, planks are HARD for me! At least you made it towards end. ;) Nothing wrong in modifying, less injury. Great job on this mornings disc 17 legs. I would be nervous as well. Let us know how your knee felt.

Janie Weeding is such a chore, but it does look really good when you get it done, doesn't it?! Great job, it is a lot of work! I am going to keep your little feet in mind the next time I'm at the beach and just might have to make some of my own :D The knee did awesome with yesterdays leg workout, I think dropping my weights for the calf raises was the ticket. Of course I shouldn't be counting my chickens too early, last wee it didn't start hurting until the end of the next day, but it feels really good right now. :D

This morning was supposed to be MMA Boxing, but I don't like that one, so I did Imax instead and then I did the core work from MMA boxing. Much more enjoyable. Happy Friday ladies!

Walked the beach around 7pm tonight. There were many pelicans and thousands of sea birds searching the ocean for food, by diving into it. And it seemed they rested only to start all over again. So Amazing! I didn't have my camera with me, ugh. Walked about an hour.


Pam, I hope someday I see all kinds of little feet. LOL Once you get started on them, (at least me) can't seem to quit. LOL So glad your knee held out during your exercises. Yea! Grat job on Imax and core work from MMA boxing. Glad too you enjoyed it, that is important.

So I took last week off from working out. It was much too hot for me and I felt tired all week. Now it has cooled down but it is raining. Ummm didn't want the rain but I am glad that it isn't so hot out. This morning I did Rockout Knockout. It was a fun workout and then I did some housework. I am now on 2 weeks vacation and I am hoping to get back into the swing of things with my workouts. I have missed not working out regularly.

Helped Joey with some of his projects. Holding things, gofer (go for this and go for that)...It was nice. Played guitar for an hour, bike ride with Joey for about 30 min. Cooked dinner and went to my UFO group. It is so much fun when people have the same interests as yours. I really need to finish my drawing of the guitar. Will try to get to it tomorrow along with more weeding. :rolleyes: The days go by so FAST!
