Strength in Numbers

This morning I did Get Glutes and added on triceps pushups. So cold this morning at -9. I don’t want to be a crier but it is hard especially when the heat in my car does not work. Ok, I am gonna suck it up now and stop crying before my tears freeze to my face. :(:eek:

Pam I don’t blame you for skipping out on the run. Of course I am fellow non-runner so I sympathize with you. Congratulations to Carl’s team. Third place is awesome! Great job on PCCC! Oh I hope you don’t get snow and ice. This winter has been TERRIBLE! Great job on PUB! I think my arms give out before my core on most planks as well.

Cheryl Yea for getting the bedroom done. Now on to the bathroom. Great job on PRS 1 and your leg workout! I wonder if it is the fast pace of Meso 1 that does your back in. I am glad you are substituting so you can still do the rotation.

Janie Life getting in the way can sometimes be good, right?! Great job on Basic Step and practicing the guitar and piano. How are those calluses coming along?

Well I had almost finished my post when one of my cats decided to jump onto my keyboard and I lost everything :mad:. So condensed version now. Great job on your workouts. Pam did you do the core work first in PUB? Stay warm Julie it will be Spring soon. Don't worry about being MIA Janie it seems to happen to me all the time.

I woke up with red puffy eyelids again today :confused:. I am wondering if I am developing allergies and I still cannot shake off this cold. I had no energy at all today and so no workout. This is getting really frustrating......

Janie Don't worry about being MIA, it happens to all of us sometimes. Great job on basic step - I was going to say BS but decided that isn't a great acronym to use :p Great job on your dedication to your piano and guitar practice too! I did feel a little guilty about skipping the run, but not for long ;) We consider we just made a donation to a good cause, all of the proceeds from the race go to the NC Children's hospital.

Julie Great job on GG and triceps pushups! I am so bad at triceps pushups, I usually sub in a different tricep exercise when Cathe does those. Oh man, I'd be crying with -9 and no heat too. Holy cow. That is just wrong. The snow has already started. We made some modifications to our class to do all of the presentations this morning and now they can do the lab exercises on their own. The snow is supposed to turn to ice around 6:00, so who knows what the morning is going to be like. Now they are saying we are going to then get MORE snow tomorrow night. :rolleyes::confused: I think everyone is going to be happy to kiss this winter good-bye!!

Janie Great job on 10-10-10, I love that one too! I haven't done it in awhile, it seems that Cathe never puts those CTX workouts in her rotations.

Cheryl Oh man, those darn cats! They always want your attention when you are doing something else, don't they? What a bummer losing your whole post! I don't do the core work first in PUB because I have to FF through the whole workout to get to it and it takes too long. I burned mine from my DVD from my VHS and there are no chapters or anything. I have been tempted to buy a new copy just so I can do the core first..... Sorry about your puffy eyes, it definitely sounds like some kind of an allergy. I hope you are able to shake it off.

This morning for me was Imax2 and all 128 Jeannie hops! Woo hoo! I haven't done that one in a long time, so it was fun. Now I am sitting at work watching the snow fall. We eneded the class early and some people left and some are staying, but I have to wait for my DH to leave. Since we have an SUV we carpooled, plus he doesn't want me driving in the snow :rolleyes: I think we will go home and start a nice fire and maybe watch the olympics :D Have a great day. No workout this morning. This winter is really doing me in. I just am not motivated and feel like working out 4-5 times a week is all I can handle right now. I am going to just accept that and not beat myself up for not doing more.

Janie Great job on 10*10*10! I always forget about the CTX series but they are goodies. I think the cold is affecting my motivation. I so cannot wait for Spring when I might feel up to working out more often. Right now I just want to hibernate. Why couldn’t I have been a bear!

Cheryl Uh oh, red puffy eyelids does not sound good. Definitely sounds like it could be allergies. Not sure if taking an anti-histamine would help. Keep resting up and hopefully things will turn around soon.

Pam Yes this winter has been crazy for most the entire country. I don’t think there will be any complaints if this summer is overly hot. At least none from me! Great job on Imax 2! I was thinking about doing that once this morning but then decided my bed was too comfy to leave.

Took a rest day today and I'm almost finished with my zentangle/doodle hummingbird. I'll take a photo and post it tomorrow. No guitar or piano today, had to finish what I started. Then will get ready to travel over the mountains for my Dad's 90th birthday. Will leave Sat. and come home on Sunday.

Julie, Winter is hard to get through for sure, in motivating for exercise. Listen to your body maybe it's trying to tell you something. If you see less results then, redo your thinking, but for now I think 4-5 times a week is just fine. I'm having a hard time too this Winter. You are not alone. In the coming short several weeks, the days will be longer and warmer, then our workouts will improve.

Julie I don't blame you for wanting to hibernate. You guys have really been getting hammered with both the snow and the crazy low temperatures. This is the worst winter in a long time. Keep thinking spring!

Janie I hope you enjoyed your rest day and working on your zentangle. A hummingbird sounds like it will be very cool! I hope you have a great time celebrating your dad's birthday! I also forgot to mention that I got your nice card! That was such a surprise - I was supposed to be sending something to you. Speaking of that, there is something on the way..... :D

Well yesterday was quite the adventure here. It started snowing around noon and was coming down hard. We called the class to an end around 1:00 but then I had to wait for hubby to leave work around 2:00. By then, EVERYONE was leaving work and the roads were slammed. Luckily we have an outer loop that no one takes because it's a toll road. It was slow going but there wasn't much traffic on it and we made it home in about an hour and a half, which is just a little over twice as long as usual. Doug had told Carl to be home before the storm started but being a teenager, he waited until it started snowing and it took him over 3 hours to go a much shorter distance than we went and then he got stuck about a mile from home, so we had to go and tow him out after we got home. We had an incident with the car running into a stop sign while I was towing it because I had no idea how to tow a car :mad::( The good thing was that everyone got home safely. The mail man abandoned his mail truck right in the middle of the road in our neighborhood. Crazy. Stay warm and happy Thursday!

Here is my hummingbird doodle. It's 28"X8". I think this took way to long to create. Thinking I'm losing my motivation. Have it on FB and can be seen much better. All those things behind the bird is music notes.

Pam, OOOOOOOOO! Something on the way? Will be looking for it! Mine is such a small gift, but my heart was in the right place.;) Thank goodness for toll roads! Glad you made it home safely from the snowy roads. Wow, you certainly did have an adventure. Can't believe the mailman abandoned the mail. Would think he'd call for help and stay by it until help arrived. Hmmmmm. Continue to stay safe, cozy and warm.

UPDATE: OMG! For years I've been waiting for Cathe to befriend me on FB. She did today! WooHoo!

Julie I understand what your are feeling. I seem to be the same way that I can't get motivated and it is hard to workout as much as I would like. Good for you in accepting it and not beating yourself up over it.

Janie That is a cool zentangle. Maybe you just need a break from doing it. Your motivation will come back. Congratulations for becoming one of Cathe's FB friends. I am one and I think Pam is too.

So I am in the same boat and Julie I am having a hard time getting motivated to workout. It is so hard to do it first thing in the morning and I am so tired by the time I get home from work that I just don't want to do it. I have taken tomorrow off from work so I won't have any problem getting a workout it. Having to go to work seems to be the problem :rolleyes:. I never have a problem when I have a day off. Well I don't know if I should say it or not but for the past couple of days it has felt like Spring here. Sorry Julie and Pam. We really haven't had any snow here and I doubt that we will even get any.

I had a post all written up yesterday and then work got out of control. I did do Get Glutes yesterday. This morning I did Bootcamp. So happy Friday is here! Doing my happy dance! I am hoping the work day goes fast and the rest of the weekend goes S L O W.

Pam Oh my what a day you had! I hope there was not too much damage to the car. Too crazy about the mailman. I hope you are doing well today and were able to get all the snow cleared up. I know NC is not really equipped to deal with this like northern states.

Janie That is a beautiful zentangle! I can only imagine that it took a long time to create. Are you losing your motivation for the zentangles? You are so creative and have so many things you do it would be hard to stay motivated on all them. Congrats on Cathe friending you!

Cheryl Wouldn’t it be nice if we were independently wealthy and didn’t have to work? If I remember correctly, your last couple winters weren’t the best and we had pretty mild ones so I guess we were both due for a change. Enjoy that Spring weather!

Janie oh I love the hummingbird doodle! I saw the post on FB too and I bet it doesn't do it justice. I just over the hearts, I hadn't noticed them until you mentioned them! It's definitely the heart that is more important then the gift and yours was truly something from the heart, so special! I'm not sure where the mail man went, but someone did come and get the truck at some point yesterday :)

Cheryl the mailmen here don't seem to have that same motto. There have been many times that we haven't gotten mail because of the whether. It's much more of a fair weather policy. I hope you enjoyed your day off.

Julie great job on GG and bootcamp! This was such. Long stressful work, I am so happy for it to be over! I hope your workday did fly by!

This morning was Crossfire for me. I was see ally dreading it and it wasn't too bad. I think that's the key, if I'm really dreading a workout, it never seems to be as bad as I s expecting. I'm so so happy for this week to be over. Now we are packing as. We are heading to Maine in the morning to ski. I'm not so excited about snow after all of the. Snow this week, but I know it will be a lot of fun and am so looking forward to the break! I'm not sure if I'll be posting while we are gone or not, so if not, have a great weekend, week!

There are 3 snow storms coming to the mountain passes we have to travel in order to see my Dad and be with him on his 90th birthday. There is one today, a worse one tomorrow, and yet another bad one on Sunday. We are practical people and decided the risk traveling in the mountains is too risky. I'm so depressed about this because I truly wanted to share that experience with him. I think that's why I'm in a slump today.

So Friday we got about 4 inches of snow during the day. Driving home was not the best since the roads were not cleared. Saturday I did XTrain Legs. I didn’t like it the first time I did it because it wasn’t heavy enough but now that I am doing heavy legs three times a week with Get Glutes, it is nice to throw this one in there. Sunday I did Get Glutes and extra back work. This morning I slept in! We are supposed to get another 3-5 inches of snow by this afternoon. 30 days to Spring!

Pam Great job on Crossfire before you left to ski! I hope you had a fantastic weekend.

Janie I am sorry you had to miss your dad’s 90th birthday but I am glad you played it safe and stayed home.

Cheryl Hope you got your bathroom painting done this weekend. It will be so nice to have that done and out of the way!

I didn't sleep well last night and it was so hard to get out of bed. I was going to do a workout when I got home from work but I was so tired that all I wanted to do is go to bed. We got the bathroom painted but we do need to give it another coat. There are still a couple of places that the paint didn't cover that well. Since we had to take down the light in the bathroom it will have to wait until next weekend so we have some natural light coming in so we can see. We really don't have any other lights that we can put in there so we can see.

Did HiiT 30/30 tonight. Love this workout! Cleaned house the last two days. Not done still. LOL

This morning I did Get Glutes. So here is a funny story and a prime example of why you should not trust your math skills when lifting heavy. I started my workout with 3 sets of hip thrusts supersetted with 3 sets of 1-arm chest press. So far so good. My next superset started with squats and since I got up to 110 lbs. for 8 reps last week, I decided to start with that weight. Loaded up my bar, unracked it, started my set and by rep 2 I was thinking this weight seemed a lot heavier than last week. I kept going and stopped at rep 7. Feeling frustrated that I was weaker this week, I started to lighten the load when I noticed I had been lifting 120 lbs. not 110. I guess the bright side is that I was able to push myself to go heavier without knowing it.

Cheryl Um, yes I cannot wait for Spring. The roads have been terrible to drive on with all this snow. Just when they get cleaned off and passable, we get hit with more snow. I hope you got better sleep last night. Yep, you definitely need good lighting to be able to paint.

Janie Great job on 30/30 and Cleanmax! That is something I really need to do, clean! I can’t wait for Spring and DH and I can start Spring cleaning. Our house desperately needs it.

Julie Great job on Get Glutes. Too funny about your math skills. That early in the morning I probably would have done the same thing. Good for you in lifting 10 pounds more that you thought you did. You guys have gotten so much snow this year. Spring is almost here. I did get a better sleep last night but I am still tired.

Today I was so tired again when I got home I didn't want to workout. But I pushed myself and I was glad that I did. I did STS disc 4 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I think I forgot to tell you what workouts I did on the weekend yesterday. Saturday was Party Rocking Step #2, I am really getting to like this one and Sunday was yoga.

Yesterday was Cardio & Weights for 30 min. Just couldn't do more than that and today was XT09T Premix 1 & Core 1 (Tabatasize). Very hard/challenging. This should help me withstand longer cardio as I move through my workouts.

Julie, Great job on Get Glutes. Very funny about your bar rack. I've had a similar experience when I was visiting a gym in Las Vegas. LOL:eek:. Do be careful.

Cheryl, It's not easy painting and glad the bathroom and bedroom is done. I bet it looks really nice. Great job on STS disc 4 chest, shoulders and biceps. So sorry you had to push yourself, yet very proud of you to move forward on the exercises anyway. Good for you! Great job on the weekend exercises too!

Janie Good work on Cardio and Weights and XT Premix 1 and core 1. Doing a bit at a time will help with getting your stamina back for cardio. You don't want to push it.

I hoped to get a workout in tonight but by the time I got back home from getting groceries it was a bit too late. I will do something tomorrow though.
