Strength in Numbers

Cheryl Nope, DH didn't invite me to go to Florida with him, pretty rude, huh? ;):D I'm so glad that you finally got outside to enjoy the weather, that is awesome. Wow, great job on RK too!

Janie Great job on the wedding video cardio. I need to do that one again when I'm between rotations. Cathe doesn't put it in any of her rotations...... Yesterday was my rest day too. I almost did a workout anyway, but reminded myself that rest days are important.

Cheryl OMG, you had quite the day yesterday. I can't believe you fell on the ice, did you hurt yourself? So much for the miracle antibiotics huh? Bummer!!! I hope you are feeling ok today.

So as I said to Janie yesterday was a rest day for me. I spent the day taking care of the little piles that have built up in various places around the house  I also had 2 dead potted plants that I replaced, did laundry and just various little things around the house. This morning was Crossfire and it kicked my butt. That firewalker tabata gets me every time. And just when I am feeling like I've finally recovered from it we get to do staddle jacks on the discs  I am supposed to do stability ball abs too, so will try to remember to do them when I get home. I hope everyone has a good Monday.

Pam

Saturday I did Ride and then cleaned the house. Sunday was Get Glutes: TGU 3x2@15; JDL 1x8@85, 2x5@95,105; SLHT 3x15 ss w/ AHT 3x8@195, 205, 215; pushup/row 2x10@25 ss w/ Seated Band Abductions; rack oh carry 2x60 sec. @25,23. This morning I did CrossFire. Hope everyone is staying warm. Don’t know what other’s temps are like but we are enjoying a high of 2 today with a wind chill of -25.

Cheryl I’m with Pam. Going to Vancouver sounds like fun. I have always heard how beautiful it is out there. Oh know. It sounds like you were starting to get better but what happened?! Was the doctor att he hospital saying you shouldn’t have had the antibiotics because they wouldn’t help or you were allergic to them? I’m so sorry your year hasn’t started out good. Maybe it will just be this month which is almost over. Hang in there and hope you are doing much better today.

Janie Great job on TF! Um, I am having a little trouble figuring out what TF is but I am glad you love it :) Thanks for the link. I haven’t gotten a chance to look into it yet but will try to get read soon. Great job on cardio from the WV! I hope your boring rest day ended up including some fun.

Pam Great job on GS BSB! Wow and adding on ab work and extra pikes!! I know people in FL are going nuts over how “cold” it is there but I would take that weather in a heartbeat! Great job on ChoreMax on your rest day. Chores can be an active recovery of sorts at times. Great job on CrossFire! Hehe, we were on the same workout page this morning again!

Have a great day!

Pam I would agree that DH was rude not to take you :D. No I didn't hurt myself when I fell. You just get up really fast and hope that no one was looking . I am doing better today, tired but better. Doesn't it feel good to clean up all the little piles that have built up. Great job on Crossfire. Those straddle jacks on the discs are hard.

Julie Good job on Ride, Get Glutes, Crossfire and clean max. It is much warmer here it was around 45 - 50 degrees. The doctor at the hospital said that I shouldn't have been prescribed the antibiotics. Yep I do hope that February is a better month for me.

So my eyes were not that swollen this morning so I went to work. I was really exhausted when I got home so no workout for me today. I hope to do one tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Tonight was Upper & Lower Body Sculpt and Stability Ball Abs. Still playing the piano and almost done with my bird drawing. Will be getting my guitar sometime this week. Joey will pick it up for me. Won't see it until next week. Purchased a guitar beginning book and a capo also a tuning device. We are planning to go to the Oregon Coast after Superbowl and I will bring the guitar along with me. We should be back home in a couple of weeks. And will visit my Dad East of the Mountains to help celebrate his 90th birthday. Lots to do.

Cheryl, You poor thing! And your fall? You really didn't have a good day, but you will have a great year. Gotta stay positive. Hoping you get better soon.

Pam, Wise choice to have a rest day. Sounds like you had a productive day around the house. Great job on this mornings Crossfire. Yea that one is a toughie. Good for you! TF is Travel Fit. Sorry about that.

Julie, Great job on Sat. Ride and cleanmax. And for doing Gt Glutes on Sunday. Also for today's CrossFire. Your weather sounds scary! Stay warm, safe and cozy.

Cheryl, So glad you are feeling better. Going through a virus or something like that is hard! Don't worry about a workout when you are sick.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Julie Great job on Ride, clean max, GG and Crossfire! We were on the same page yesterday morning again! Our weather is totally insane. It was 65 yesterday, today they are predicting 3-5 inches of snow and a low of 7 (!) tomorrow. They already closed schools today even though our snow isn't supposed to start until 4 o'clock or so. It made for an easy commute to work at least  If we get as much snow as they are saying there won't be school the rest of the week! I'll help you out with Janies workout cuz it took me a little while too, but I'm pretty sure TF is Travel Fit. She will have to tell me if I'm right.

Cheryl I'm so glad you didn't hurt yourself. Broken wrists from falls are one of the most common winter emergency room injuries. That and people getting fingers cut off by snow blowers  I'm glad you are feeling better, but you definitely need to get lots of sleep while you are recovering. I was so happy to get rid of the piles. Of course that will last until DH gets home on Thursday. He loves to pile things on his dresser.....:confused:

Janie Great job on Upper and lower body sculpt and stability ball abs. Julie and I were on the same page with our workout and you and I were on the same page with our abs. I did that one last night too. How exciting that you are getting your guitar!!! I know you can't wait. Wow, your dad's 90th?! How special!

So last night I did remember to do my stability ball abs when I got home. I even ATTEMPTED the one-legged pikes for the first time ever, but it just wasn't happening. Not even close. I just did the 2-legged ones instead and then threw in 4 extras since they aren't as hard as the 1-legged. They are plenty hard though. Last night I looked at the calendar for today and couldn't believe that I had both Tabatacise AND GS Chest and triceps on the calendar. I did all of tabatacise and just the chest part of GS and will do triceps tonight. HOWEVER, after I was done and went to mark it on the calendar, the calendar said plyo legs for today. Huh?! I looked at the wrong day and the double header was tomorrow. Then I noticed that tabatacise is also on the calendar on Friday. Hmmmmmmm.....I'm pretty sure Cathe wouldn't do that. It seems something got messed up when I added the rotation to my calendar. Today was supposed to be plyo legs, tomorrow GSCT, Thursday GS legs and Friday tabatacise. Oops. Now I have to figure out how to rearrange things the rest of the week.....Anyway, Happy Tuesday!

Pam

This morning I did Get Glutes and I added on the cardio only from Cardio Leg Blast. I ended up repeating the first half at the end because it didn’t feel long enough. After all that, I was ready for a nap but instead got to go out in -9 degree weather.

Cheryl That’s good news that your eyes were not swollen anymore. I think you did a good thing by not working out. Maybe if you feel up to one, doing yoga or stretching or even one of the MMAs which I find to be milder than most Cathes.

Janie Great job on Upper & Lower Body Sculpt + SB abs! Sounds like you are keeping very busy with your drawing, piano, and guitar. Going to the Oregon Coast sounds like fun. Hope you enjoy your trip there and to visit your dad for his 90th birthday (WOW!!).

Pam Great job on remembering SB abs! I have never attempted 1-legged pikes. That is a balance accident waiting to happen with me. Oh my! What happened with your calendar?!? You could always do all of GS CST again tomorrow because let’s face it that drop set of pushups is fun!! I bet you are right that TF is Travel Fit which is a pretty good little workout!

Have a great day!

Tonight was Yoga Foundation #2 and still need more practice on the plow. It's going to take awhile, I can tell.:)

Pam
, How cool to try pikes. Those are very difficult and even to this day I still can't do them. My only excuse is I'm in my 60's. LOL Keep trying, I bet it would be so cool to be able to do them. Great job on Tabatacise and the chest part of GS. Oh no, you were suppose to do Plyo Legs today? You are good at rearranging though.

Julie, Great job on Get Glutes and the addition of cardio from Cardio only leg blasts. OOOOOO love how you added even more of the cardio. Good for you! Stay safe in that 90 degree weather. YUCK!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Janie Great job on upper and lower body sculpt and stability ball abs. So exciting to be getting your guitar. No it wasn't a good day but you are right it will be a great year. Just got off to a bit of a rocky start.

Pam Well we are lucky that we really don't need snow blowers around here. There isn't any snow here and the mountains hardly have any either. I will keep my fingers that way :p Good for you in remembering to do your ab work when you got home. I don't blame you for not doing the 1 legged pikes it is hard enough just to do the 2 legged version. Great work on tabatacise and GS chest and triceps. Well at least you got your double header done already so it will be an easy plyo leg workout tomorrow :D.

Julie Good work on your GG workout and the cardio from leg blast. Yuck -9 is cold......Brrrr.

Janie Good job on yoga foundation #2. Don't worry you will be able to do the plow. It isn't an easy pose.

Well I was feeling pretty good today. I even got up early and did a TRX workout . It felt good to get it done and not have to worry about it when I got home from work.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on GG and double cardio leg blast! No one should have to go out when it is -9 degrees! Yuck. That was the first time I ever felt brave enough to attempt a 1-legged pike and it was pretty comical. I thought I would do at least a *little* better than I did. I don't know what the heck happened with my calendar, but you are pretty funny suggesting all of CST for this morning. Hahahaha, fun is not the word I usually use for those drop set pushups!

Janie Great job on YF 2 and working on your plow. You can do it!!! I can do the regular 2-legged pikes, but I'm not at the tips of my toes like Cathe and the crew are! 1-legged, just forget about it. Those and those levitation holds make me wonder if Cathe and crew are really human! :p I'm not sure I will keep trying the 1-legged, I'll be happy if I ever get to the point where I can do all of the 2-legged ones at the end of PUB.

Cheryl Yea, we don't need snow blowers here either, most people don't even own snow shovels. Our typical snow removal method is to wait for the sun to come out. My BIL is a Doctor in Pennsylvania so he sees his share of snow blower related injuries in the winter. I'm with you, I'd rather keep all of my fingers! :D YOu are pretty fun, what is an easy plyo leg workout again?! ;) Great job on getting your TRX workout in in the morning. Glad that you are feeling well!!

Last night I came home and did the triceps part of GS Chest and Triceps and this morning I did the plyo legs that I was supposed to do yesterday. I think I did number 26 and man, the plyo sections really got to me today. Maybe that tabatacise double header yesterday had something to do with that....... We got about 2 inches of snow last night so of course everything is shut down. It's not supposed to be above freezing today so I'm betting that schools will be closed again tomorrow and probably the rest of the week. The kids will be happy, but then they will not be so happy when they find out that they will be taking days away from spring break to make up for it......Take care ladies.

Pam

Today I decided to take a rest day. I think my muscles needed a break from yesterdays all out effort on the weights. It was a heat wave this morning at 25.

Janie Great job on YF2! Keep with it on the plow and take it slow like you are. You are doing great and every time you practice you will get a little better.

Cheryl Yea on feeling better and getting a TRX workout in! I would be very interested in knowing what you do with your TRX. I have a cheapie version (the Jungle Gym) but am never quite sure what to do with it.

Pam Great job on GS Triceps and Plyo Legs! I think you may be on to something that the tabatasize double header affected plyo legs the next day! Oh wow schools take away spring break days. Around here they add on at the end of the year so our kids will probably be going until mid-June this year.

Have a great day!

Today was High Step Circuit. Sweaty one! LOL Will be visiting my daughter tomorrow, then Friday will go to the Beach House to join my Joey. The next day suppose to pick up my guitar (YEA!) It's been tough for us (woman who has the guitar and me) to get together to do this. Hope it works out.

Cheryl, So glad you are feeling better and for doing TRX workout. Good for you!

Pam, Hmmm, I can do the levitation holds, but only for a short time. We have things to strive for don't we? I think you should continue to try the 1-legged pike. LOL (just kidding) I'd be happy just doing one 2-legged pike! Good for you! Great job on last nights triceps part of GS Chest and Triceps and this mornings plyo legs. Snow for commuting is such a bummer. But better safe than not.

Julie, Great job on your rest day. So important. Wow, 25 degrees. Brrrrrrrrrr! I no longer see improvement with the plow, but it won't stop me to keep trying.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Good job on giving your muscles a rest. Man, how could you stand all that heat! I hope your AC was working in your car ;) I don't know what the temp ended up being here this morning, but they were predicting 5! It's all the way up to 28 now but is supposed to be over 40 later woo hoo. Heat wave! Yep, our schools start taking away spring break days because we have so many crazy laws. There are a minimum number of days that they have to be in school, but a few years ago they also passed a law that they can't be in school past a certain date in June. They also can't start before a certain date in August so it doesn't leave them with many options. Once they use up all the teacher work days they start eating into spring break. It's a joke though because there are so many people that are out because they had already booked travel, so they don't do anything that week.

Janie Great joib on HSC, that is a toughie but fun! Have a nice time visiting your daughter and with Joey at the beach. I'm so happy you'll be getting your guitar soon! One time I did a levitation hold for a very very short time, but that was a total fluke, I haven't even come close since. And then when she does them and straightens out her legs! Ay yi yi......!!!

Well this morning if I hadn't messed up my calendar would have been GS legs. Since I did plyo legs yesterday I decided to do the cardio today. And since I did tabatacise Tuesday, I didn't really feel like doing that again, so I did Step Blast and the abs from SJP. That was plenty tough for this morning. I have to pick DH up at the airport this afternoon so will have to venture out of the house! I have been hibernating and working at home since it snowed. I did shovel the driveway yesterday, I figured that was a little bonus cardio, although it was pretty easy. Have a great day, Friday is almost here!

Pam

This morning I did Get Glutes and added on some farmer’s walks and extra back work. Still in the 20s today! Whooo hooo!!

Janie Great job on HSC! I bet you are improving in plow but maybe not enough to notice stick with it because you are doing great! Have a wonderful time with your daughter, at the beach house and getting you guitar!!

Pam Great job on subbing in Step Blast and SJP abs! SB is a blast. Haven’t done that one in forever. Shovel max is a cardio workout. And depending on heavy the snow is can be quite the strength workout too. I guess that makes sense since it can get hot in June, July, and August down there that they wouldn’t want the kids going during that time.

Have a great day!

Pam Good for you in getting the triceps part done when you got home and doing plyo legs too. Wow 2 inches of snow and they close the schools. You are right that they won't like it much when it gets taken away from their spring break.

Julie Good for you in taking a break, sometimes that is just what your body needs. Well 25 is sure a lot better than -9. I can do a lot with my TRX. I do chest press, back rows, planks, shoulder work. If you go to youtube and put in TRX exercises there are a lot that come up. It may help you with what you could do with your jungle gym.

Janie Good job on High Step Circuit. Enjoy your visit with your daughter and getting your guitar.

Pam Good job on Step Blast and the abs from SJP. Lucky you to be able to work from home. It is great when you can fit in extra exercise. I haven't had to shovel anything yet, hopefully it will stay that way.

Julie Good job on you GG workout farmer's walks and your extra back work. You really are having a heat wave now aren't you.

Yesterday we went a got groceries so by the time we got home and put everything away it was almost bedtime so I didn't get a chance to post. This morning I did MMA Kickbox. I felt pretty good this morning so I hope it continues. I will try to do a weight workout tomorrow morning too.

Happy Friday.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on GG and Farmer's walk s and back work. We are supposed to get up to 50 today and 60 by Sunday, I'm ready for it! This cold weather is no fun at all! Hopefully you are getting the warmer weather this weekend too. I love SB too. I figured since it was kind've a bonus workout for me I would do something that is lots of fun. The reason we have the crazy laws about school is that several years ago the school schedules were all over the place. The public schools were starting back the first week in August and then some of the other schools were going late into June. It was really affecting vacation rentals so some tourism folks filed a lawsuit and there are now very strict rules about the school calendar. My shovel max wasn't too hard at all. There wasn't much snow and what was there wasn't heavy. It was just a little light cardio and no weight.

Cheryl Not only do they close school for 2 inches of snow, they were closed for 4 days! It is pretty ridiculous. Most of the roads were completely dry yesterday. But because they don't plow or salt or sand any of the side roads, if any of those roads are bad they cancel school because they don't want the buses on them. There is no school today and it's going to be 50 degrees. I could see a delay so that the buses don't run until after it warms up. Sometimes I don't think it's so lucky to be able to work from home, I wouldn't have minded a day to play in the snow! :D Great job on MMA Kickbox....hmmmm....is that the one with Julie's favorite turtle spins???

This morning for me was supposed to be GS legs, but I didn't want to get up and stayed in bed a little longer, so I did tomorrows GS Back, shoulders and biceps since it is shorter. I'll do the longer GS legs tomorrow when I don't have work. Happy Friday everyone! It's going to be a busy one for me. We are having friends over for dinner tomorrow and a superbowl party Sunday so I may not be posting again until Monday. Have a great weekend if you don't hear from me before then!

Pam

Pam Wow kids are lucky there that they can stay home when it only snows a couple of inches. 50 degrees and still no school  they couldn't get that anywhere else. No it didn't have the turtle spins. I think those are on MMA Fusion. Great job on GS back, shoulders and biceps. Enjoy your Superbowl Party.....go Seahawks :D.

So this morning it was Xtrain bis and tris. So glad that it is Friday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheryl

Had a good time at my daughters and grandson. Didn't have time to exercise yesterday or today. I'm now at the beach and so excited to get my guitar tomorrow.

Pam, Great job on the cardio, Step Blast and abs from SJP today. Yes, I'd say that was plenty. Good job.

Julie, Great job on Get Glutes and the addition of farmer's walks with back work.

Cheryl, Great job on MMA Kickbox. So glad you are feeling good. Hoping it continues too.

Pam, Great job on GS Back shoulders and biceps. Enjoy your party Superbowl weekend.

Cheryl, Great job on XTrain bis and tris. You have a great weekend too.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Got my guitar today and even tuned it myself with a Planet Waves Tuner. Very easy to do. I'm in 7th heaven! Looking forward to this. Tomorrow we go to the Oregon Coast.

Update: Tomorrow we watch the Superbowl then on Mon. we go to the Oregon Coast. OOPS!

Janie

Saturday I did Pedal Power Extreme premix and then DH and I stayed inside the rest of the day. I really wanted to get my errands done but apparently the weather had different plans for us. We got several inches of snow on top of ice and the roads were not passable at all. Sunday I started Month 5 of Get Glutes and added on extra back work. After that, we ran our errands and then went to my mom’s. She adopted a dog yesterday so we went over there to help her get her dog settled and make sure she would get along with my dogs. Then it was off to watch the Super Bowl. I got to bed really late so no workout this morning. Will be back at it tomorrow.

Cheryl Great job on MMA Kickbox and XTrain Bis/Tris! Looks like your team won. I can’t believe how bad that game was. The Broncos were horrible and it was almost like they didn’t even bother to show up.

Janie Yea! Glad you got your guitar and could even tune it yourself. Enjoy your trip to the Oregon Coast.

Pam Great job on switching out GSL for GSBSB so you could sleep! Well the weather was warmer but we ended up getting ice and about 4-5 inches of snow. We are supposed to get another 6-8 starting tomorrow afternoon. I am beginning to think winter will never end.

Have a great day!

Cheryl Yep, you are right MMA Fusion is the one with the turtle spins. Congrats on the Seahawks winning. I wasn't really pulling for one team or the other, but I like Peyton Manning so was cheering for them. It was such a bad game though, it was embarrassing for the Broncos! At least the half time show was good :D Great job on XT bis and tris!

Janie So glad you had a nice time with your family! Enjoy your time at the beach and playing with your new toy! Oh, have a good trip to the Oregon Coast too!

Julie Great job on PP extreme. Sorry you had such lousy weather for the weekend. This has really been a brutal winter! We had a really nice weekend - in the 60's both days. Right now it is 62 here but they are saying a cold front is coming and the temperature will be 'plunging'. Oh joy  Great job on GG and back work yesterday. How did your dogs like the new dog?

Saturday I did my GS legs and added on the core work from the new Legs and Abs DVD. I can't remember the real name for that one right now. Yesterday was my rest day and I spent it getting ready for the Superbowl party. This morning I didn't want to get up after being up so late, but I dragged myself out of bed for Tabatacise. Amazingly enough it went well, I wasn't as tired as I was last week when I did it. I was happy that I didn't do a repeat of it last week when I saw it on the calendar for this morning. I am starting Cathe's January rotation from the calendar - wow, it looks like a doozy!!!! Happy Monday!

Pam
