Strength in Numbers

The 4 day weekend went by fast and I already feel like I need time off work again. Thursday I finished out Get Glutes month 2 and then Tabatacise because after that I had 2 Thanksgivings, 1 with my family and one with DH’s. Friday I did Supercuts Extreme and did some shopping. Saturday was errands and a rest day. Sunday I started Get Glutes month 3 and then DH’s sister and brother and their families came over to watch a football game. This morning I did Circuit Blast and made it an extreme premix by repeating the odd number rounds.

Janie Great job on disc 5! I was a glutton too over the entire weekend! That chocolate ice cream sounds delicious. Did you save me some? Wait ... I take that back. After all I ate this weekend, I better not have anything more for awhile. Your STS/UY rotation sounds like it will be very good.

Cheryl I hope you are feeling better. Colds are no fun and if you are like me, they seem to drag on forever. Good job getting in yoga.

Pam Great job on TTM plus adding on those 2 tabatas and BBW! I would be spent after that too! Great job on MMA Boxing and 300 walking lunges! I am still amazed at that high number. I did 3x20 on Sunday and was thinking that was plenty! Great job on B&G, STS TB, TS High Step Intensity, and Tabatacise! That is a toughie especially after the long weekend and all that food. I am hitting the salads this week too. Just 3 weeks till Christmas and then we do it all over again with the food.

Have a great day!

Tonight was STS disc 7 chest, shoulders and biceps. Love weight lifting. Push ups are really hard for me, hopefully tomorrows yoga will help me with that.

Pam, Great job on Butts & Gutts on Thurs, STS Total Body on Fri. And a rest day from workouts on Sat. Also great job on Sun with Tracy High Intensity Step mix and for this mornings Tabatacise. Sound like a wonderful Thanksgiving. So glad your sister got out of the hospital on Wed, sad though, she wasn't feeling well enough on Thanksgiving. MMMMMM, love chicken pot pie. How nice of you to do that for your Mom. Now for Christmas.

Julie, Great job on Get Glutes Month two and Tabatacise. Not everyone has two Thanksgivings. Lucky you. Sounds like fun. Aslo great job on Frid's Supercuts Extreme and shopping. Sat. errands with your rest day. Go ta have those rest days. Good for starting month 3 of Get Glutes and for this mornings Circuit Blast and making it extra hard for repeating the odd number rounds. You are good! I think I ate all of the ice cream. Sorry

Take care ladies,

Janie

Janie I am doing much better. My cold didn't amount to much which was good.

Pam Glad that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and all the food. I don't blame you for staying away from the stores on that day. People are crazy when it comes to shopping!!!! I am feeling much better now. The cold didn't amount to much. Good work on Butts and Guts, STS Total Body, Tracy Staehle and Tabatacise. I am glad that your sister is out of the hospital now. Too bad that she couldn't join you for Thanksgiving. Wow your house is all decorated for Christmas and you have your tree up too!!!! I bet that was exhausting.

Julie Great for you your GG workout and Tabatacise. Two Thanksgiving dinners in one day no wonder why you needed a tough workout that day. Great job on Supercuts Extreme GG month 3 and Circuit Blast.

Janie Great job on STS disc 7 chest shoulders and biceps. How is your foot feeling?

For me I did X10 low impact on Thursday, Friday I was really tired so I didn't do anything. Saturday was STS disc 2 back and triceps, Sunday was Rockout Knockout and I added the heavy bag bonus and today was MMA Fusion. It has gotten cold here, it isn't going to snow but it sure will be cold. I don't know if any of you have read fifty shades of grey but it just started filming here. It is suppose to be released Feb 14th 2015.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie I'm with you, I was off pretty much all week but still felt like i needed more time. I was exhausted yesterday. Great job on GG, Tabatacise, Supercuts Extreme, GG month 3 and your circuit blast extreme! i got tired just typing all of that! I know, only 3 weeks til Christmas and so much to do! Our parties are already starting this weekend too, so that means being especially good with food during the week! Intensity, and Tabatacise! That is a toughie especially after the long weekend and all that food.

Janie Great job on STS disc 7! I don't think push ups ever get any easier......:rolleyes: You are so good doing your yoga, I need to somehow get that inspiration from you!

Cheryl So glad that your cold wasn't too bad! What a relief! I think this is the earliest we have ever decorated for Christmas. We are hosting our Christmas caroling party this weekend so we thought we should be festive! I'm happy to have it done though. Great job on X10, STS disc2, Rockout Knockout with heavy bag and MMA Fusion!! I was thinking of you when they were talking about starting the filming for 50 shades of grey on the news last night. They really film a lot of movies there! I read the first book and just didn't understand all of the excitement over it. I didn't read the 2nd 2 and don't think I need to see the movie. I know several of my friends can't wait for it though!

This morning for me was Lower Body Blast. I like the little cardio blasts in that one and that the floor leg work doesn't go on forever! I hope you all have a great day!

Pam

This morning I did Cycle Max Scrambled Style. It is only Tuesday and I am already really dragging. I hope I can find some energy soon. I am supposed to donate blood today and I have meetings almost all day. I am tired just thinking about it all.

Janie Great job on disc 7! I believe that is the disc that has like 187 pushups or something crazy like that. You are awesome for getting through it. LOL! I would have eaten all the ice cream too!

Cheryl So glad to hear your cold didn’t amount to much! Great job on X10 Low Impact on Thursday, resting on Friday, disc 2 on Saturday, RK + heavy bag on Sunday, and MMA Fusion on Monday! Seeing MMA Fusion makes me miss the turtle spins. I may have to do those on my own tonight if I find any energy. I have not read 50 Shades of Grey but from what I heard, I would have never expected it to be filmed.

Pam Great job on LBB! I am not a fan of floorwork when it goes on forever like in B&G but it can be a burner. Our first party isn’t until December 15 so I have a few weeks to get my eating back to normal before it goes downhill for the last two weeks of the year.

Have a great day!

Tonight was The Ultimate Yogi (TUY) disc 1, Cross Training & Hardcore (abs). Wow, I certainly am grateful for this series. Needing not only the posses and cardio but also balance. My gosh haven't done yoga for years and I have a lot to catch up on.

Cheryl, Foot is getting better, but still sore. So far the yoga doesn't hurt it. Yea! Great job on X10 Low Impact on Thurs. and Friday's rest day. Also for Saturday's STS disc 2 back and triceps, Sun's Rockout Knockout and the additionn of the haeavy bag bonus. And for today's MMA Fusion. Wow, you are doing very well. It's cold here too. Brrrrrrr. I've been meaning to read the book, just haven't gotten around to it yet. How exciting about the filming of it near you.

Pam, I'm really sorry for not keeping yoga in my life. Like Travis says, each pose is like a dosage of wellness. Love the idea. Great job on this mornings Lower Body Blast. You did good.

Julie, Great job on this mornings Cycle Max Scrambled Style. Oh Oh not a good sign dragging already. Try to get plenty of and restful sleep. Good for you donating blood! With modifications and a lot of table top push ups, I was able to get through my exercises. LOL

Take care everyone,

Janie

Pam Your caroling party should be fun and yes you would need to have your home festive for it. I couldn't get into the 1st book at all, I am glad that I am not the only one. They are doing a bit of filming here. Right now what they film here is Arrow, The Tomorrow People, Almost Human, 50 Shades of Grey and another movie but I can't remember the name of it. I saw some filming for it last Friday and they we using about 5 green screens. Great job on Lower Body Blast.

Julie Great job on Cycle Max Scrambled Style. I hear ya about already dragging I am feeling the same way. I thought about you when I was doing the turtle spins last night. 50 Shades of Grey will have two versions, one kind of a PG one and the other one will be erotic. Should be interesting to see how they film it.

Janie Good job on The Ultimate Yogi disc 1, cross training and hardcore abs. You will notice your flexability will get a lot better if you keep at it. I am glad that your foot is getting better even though it is still sore. It is cold here too, maybe there will be snow on Thursday.

Today I did STS disc 3 Legs. I forgot how this one really hurts my back. I had to leave out the last set of deadlifts, I thought my back would go out if I did them. I am thinking to substitute another leg workout when I need to. I don't know why the leg workouts in the Meso cycle do that to my back .

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on scrambled Cycle Max! I hope you have gotten your mojo back! I hate those days that are filled with meetings and you can't get anything done. I hope everything went ok, including giving blood.

Janie Great job on TUY! Wow, it sounds like quite the workout!!! So glad that you are able to do it without it hurting your foot too. It is really amazing how you start to lose your balance, isn't it?:rolleyes: I love that saying that each pose is like a dosage of wellness. I just wish I could make myself enjoy it somehow....

Cheryl I'm thinking our neighbors might be tired of our caroling, but I guess we'll see. I figure I'll put a warning on facebook and tell people to let us know if they prefer that we don't come! :p It would be really fun to see movies being filmed. I think I would enjoy the movie more if I could relate to some of the scenes like that. Great job on STS disc 3. You were smart skipping the last set of deadlifts if they were bothering your back. I know Cathe sometimes says that you can substitute supermans for deadlifts if they bother your back. Those are super tough leg workouts in meso 1. I ALWAYS failed the toilet test for a couple of days after those!

This morning for me was Rockout Knockout with the Heavy bag bonus (but without a heavy bag). I had planned to go home and do core last night since it seems like there isn't much core in the rotation this week, but I forgot.... Oh well, maybe tonight. I know that kickbox stuff really works the core though too. Have a great day everyone!

Pam

This morning I did Get Glutes. I also added on some farmer’s walks and extra back work. I was getting a little light headed in between the step ups and had to take a little extra break between sides and sets. I am hoping it was because I donated blood yesterday and was still a little weak from that.

Janie Great job on TUY disc 1! I am glad you are able to do yoga and not have it hurt your foot. I really, really need to follow your lead and do yoga or stretching. Even 20 minutes once a week would probably help. I am so terrible I don’t even do stretches after doing my Get Glutes workouts.

Cheryl Great job on disc 3! So sorry it hurt your back but glad you listened to your body and didn’t do the last set of dls. I think you could totally substitute Leaner Legs (CTX), Legs & Glutes, LB Trisets for meso 3.

Pam Great job on RK + the bonus! I think Cathe does a good job of incorporating a lot of exercises that work core even if they are not thought of as traditional ab work like mountain climbers and my nemesis spiderman climbers. I really like those sit outs from Supercuts and I think those really work the core and help with balance too.

Have a great day!

Pam I hope your neighbors aren't tired of your caroling. I think it would be fun to do even though I can't sing at all . There isn't too much to see when they film, it seems to be more standing around than filming. Great job on Rockout Knockout and the heavy bag bonus. The kickboxing does work your core so I wouldn't worry about missing your ab workout.

Julie Great job on Get Glutes and your farmer's walks (umm what are they?) and your extra back work. It takes a while to get back into the groove after giving blood that is why you were probably light headed. I was thinking of those leg workouts to substitute for the meso 1 leg workout. I don't know why my back bothers me so much with those ones.

Today we went grocery shopping so I took it as my day off. I will be back at it tomorrow. It is cold here tomorrow morning it will only be around 28 degrees. Well at least we have sun and blue skies with the cold.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on GG and farmers walks and back work. I have no idea what farmer's walks are, but they sound interesting! I bet you were light headed from giving blood, don't they tell you not to do any intense activities for 24 hours afterwards? Cathe does do a good job of incorporating core work into the workouts, but I still feel like I'm guilty if I don't do something that is officially labeled core 3 times a week

Cheryl I hope our neighbors aren't tired of our caroling too. I definitely think we enjoy it a lot more than they do. Of course we have chili and appetizers and desserts and drinks along the way too so that helps! As I was telling Julie, I still feel guilty if I don't do something officially labeled core 3 times a week, even though in my head I know the kickboxing is working my core. Oh brrr, 28 degress. I am not looking forward to cold weather. We are lucky and 70 here today and tomorrow, but it's supposed to be cooler this weekend.

This morning for me was Crossfire. Those firewalker tababtas always kill me! Whew. This week is flying for me, probably because I still have so much work to get done. I guess I better get to it. Have a great day.

Pam

I did it again! My back is hurting and can't exercise. I really thought I was being gentle too. I'm so disappointed I could scream! Can't even sneeze without hurting. I just don't understand. Should I not exercise? It should be OK in a few days, taking ibuprofen and it does work for the pain. Iced it yesterday and will again today then will put heat on it tomorrow. This old body is breaking down. So so discouraged. I don't want to give up yoga.

Pam, Great job on Rockout Knockout with the Heavy Bag Bonus. After that you really don't need to do extra ab work.

Julie, If I don't stretch before and after every exercise, My body would entirely shut down. It's a must for me, there is no way out of it. Great job on Get Glutes and addition of farmer's walks and back work. You are wise taking brakes especially when light headed. I bet is was because of blood donation.

Cheryl, Great job on your rest day even got a little shopping in.

Pam, Great job on this mornings Crossfire. Crossfire is a challenge for sure.

Take care everyone,

Janie

For some reason I woke up at midnight last night thinking about work issues and had a hard time falling back to sleep. I finally did but probably only got another hour and a half. I really wanted to stay in the nice warm bed but I did get up and do Afterburn Double Trouble.

Cheryl Farmer’s Walks are basically just holding two heavy dumbbells at your sides and walking or standing still. It is meant to work your grip and boy do they ever. I used 30 pound dumbbells and walked for 60 seconds 3 times and my forearms were on fire. I am trying to increase my grip strength since I am kind of weak there (ok a lot weak there). Our high today is going to be 30. We had been spoiled the last 2 days with highs near 50 but the fog was so dense and lasted all day. Can’t it be Spring or Summer yet?

Pam Great job on CF! I explained the farmer’s walks to Cheryl. Really good for the grip and helping with posture since you need to keep your shoulder blades back and down to hold the dumbbells without putting stress on your shoulders. They told me not to do anything intense the rest of the day but I have heard the 24 hour rule before. I probably should have been smart and not done heavy weight lifting the day after but I am stubborn and must do what is on my calendar.

Janie So sorry Janie! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Do you think it was the weight lifting or the yoga that hurt your back? I don’t know what kind of poses is in TUY but in the Yoga Foundations I have by Travis, he has some more advanced poses that surprised me being in there. Do be careful and keep icing and taking ibuprofen as needed to help with swelling and inflammation.

Have a great day!

Julie, Great job on getting out of the nice warm cozy bed and doing Afterburn Double Trouble. You are so good. ;)

I believe it was STS weight lifting, because I can remember thinking the stretching from yoga might help with the hurt back. Geesh I was wrong, it really aggravated it royally. What to do what to do? Once this is feeling better (in a few days I hope) will have to really look what I am doing. I'm so careful though. Don't know what the matter is. Except oldness. That's all I can think of. mmmmmm I don't have "Foundations" but what I've done with TUY series is very doable and modifiable. I'll keep taking ibuprofen and icing it. Tomorrow will put heat on it or a nice looooonnnnnng hot bath.

Thank you for your support, it is so frustrating when I think I'm doing safe exercises and poses and I still get hurt. Darn!

Take care,

Janie

Janie OH NO, SOOOOO sorry that you hurt your back :( Big Hugs to you, I know it it sooooo frustrating to not be able to work out when you want to. I'm glad that the ibuprofen helps. Keep up the ibuprofen and the ice and take it easy.

Julie Oh man, sorry about your sleep issue. Great job getting AB double trouble in anyway, I'm not sure I would have been able to after that! Farmer's walks sound like something I could use. My grip is pretty weak, but I just rely on the Versa Gripps to help. I know what you mean about needing to do what's on your calendar. We are a little crazy sometimes.

Janie That is the problem with weight lifting, it is so easy to hurt yourself. Hopefully you will figure out what caused the problem so you can eliminate that. I do hope it is feeling better soon.

This morning was Great Glutes and I added on Core number 2 so I would feel a little better about my core work. Another busy day at work, Happy Friday ladies!!

Pam

This morning I did not have any energy in spite of getting decent sleep. I did wake up about an hour before my alarm went off and didn’t really go back to sleep so maybe that was it. Anyway, I stumbled through my Get Glutes workout and then I did 30/30 . Last time I did 30/30, I did it without breaks but this time with my low energy I had to take pauses after every 4 rounds. I think I better rest up over the weekend so I can be back to normal next week. Let’s see if I can actually listen to my own advice this time.

Janie Hopefully you can narrow it down to what exercise is causing the back issues. That will help you know what to avoid in the future. Or maybe just do a rotation of nothing but gentle yoga/stretching for a few weeks to really give your body time to heal. I say that but here I am forcing myself to work out through low energy and a slight lower back strain. One day I will listen to my body.

Pam Great job on Great Glutes + Core 2! I use Versa Grips too. I really like them but my grip is pitiful. I really should have slept in yesterday. If I would have known my energy would be zapped today, I would have. Well, I can try to convince myself of that anyway.

Have a great day! So happy it is FRIDAY!!!!

My back, which I must have pulled a muscle during STS series, was aggravated when I continued on thinking Yoga would make it feel better. Instead it hurt even worse. Today it is a little sore, but so liveable and my foot is tight and not hurting. On Monday will continue my 6.5 STS rotation with the addition of Yoga on the days without weight training. I'll cross my fingers and toes for wonderful workouts.

Thank you for all your support. It made it easier to endure the injuries waiting to heal. I do appreciate you guys so much. Hearing about what you are doing and about to do the next day made it so motivating for me to begin again. What a beautiful Christmas present from all of you.

Will be sending out Christmas cards this year (today and tomorrow) so please, message me with updated address so they will reach you. I have a lot to be thankful for.

Pam, Great job on this mornings Great Glutes and the addition of Core number 2. Take care at work.

Julie, Wondering why you are having low energy? Great job on Great Glutes and 30/30. I'm so impressed with you doing it with such low energy. Do take it easy this weekend and get lots of rest. Do be careful with the back strain and don't aggravate it.

Love you all,

Janie

Pam Wow you are having 70 degrees you are so lucky. Last night it was around 19 degrees. Great job on Crossfire.

Janie So sorry about your back {{{HUGS}}}. I think you are doing STS meso 1 right now aren't you? I know that for some reason the leg workouts in that meso cycle kill my back. Could that be the reason that your back is hurting?

Julie I am having the same trouble as you in waking up and having a hard time falling back asleep. Good for you in getting up and doing Afterburn Double Trouble. Maybe I should do those Farmer's Walks too. My grip is really weak. We are still very cold here, it is nice that there is blue sky and sun but it is very chilly. I which is was Spring but I guess we are rushing things since it isn't even Winter yet

Pam Good job on Great Glutes and Core #2.

Julie Sorry that you don't have any energy. Great job on GG and 30/30.

Well I have been the same as Julie with low energy. But unlike Julie I haven't had the energy to workout. So I missed both Thursday and Friday (was almost falling asleep on the train home). This morning I did do STS disc 1 Chest Shoulders and Biceps. I forgot just exactly how many pushups you do in this meso cycle. I was at one of our thrift stores last week and found 7 pairs of brand new Kelsi Dagger and Pour la Victoire shoes. When I got home I looked up the styles on the internet and they added up to $1,350 that I would have paid in the stores, I didn't pay anywhere near that. Then today we went to another thrift store and I found 11 brand new pairs of the Kelsi Dagger and Pour la Victoire shoes. I haven't looked these ones up on the internet yet but I got a great deal. Umm 18 pairs of shoes.....I don't think I need to go shoe shopping for a while .

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cheryl

Please message me your addresses for Christmas cards.

Cheryl, Try to get some energy. Great job on STS disc 1 chest, shoulders and biceps. Lots and lots of push ups and there is more as you move through STS. OMG! What a find on Pour La Victoire shoes! WOW! Lucky you, it pays to go to the 2nd hand stores. I've gotten many good prices on things, but you took the pot. Wow, congrats. And did you did it again! How wonderful!

Take care,

Janie

Julie Great job on 30/30 on Friday despite having no energy. That is a tough one to do when you do have energy so you shouldn't feel bad about taking breaks. Hahahaha, I can relate to that comment about listening to your own advice. I hope that you had a nice relaxing weekend and were able to get rested up. My grip is really bad too, but I think my forearm strength is worse. Versa Grips are a lifesaver for STS - thanks to Janie for that recommendation!

Janie I'm glad to hear that your back sounds like it's doinga little better and that your foot was not hurting. Please take it easy when you start back into that STS/Yoga rotation!!! I've got everything crossed for you ;) The eyes are making it a little hard to work though :p Awwww, you are so sweet! I will msg you my address after I'm finished here.

Cheryl Well our 70+ degree weather didn't last long, but it was nice for caroling. It was great to walk around in short sleeves and no coat. once of the guys even wore shorts! Sunday it was in the high 30's and raining. What a difference! Great job on STS disc 1 and push up city. I don't know exactly how many push ups are in those meso 1 workouts, I only know that it is WAY TOO MANY!!!! Holy cow, what a find on shoes!!!! I wonder why there were so many of those brand new Kelsi Dagger and Pour la Victoire shoes? Maybe a shoe store went ouf of business and sold their inventory to the thrift stores??? Anyway, great great find! Congraulationw, you won't need to buy shoes for awhile! 18 pairs in one weekend! :D:eek:

Well I had a crazy busy weekend. Worked all day Friday up until the caroling party, with the exception of taking a break to get my chili on the stove. The party was a lot of fun, even though not many neighbors were home. Then Saturday I worked all day and went to a retirement party that night, and worked all day again Sunday. I only took a break to run out to the grocery store, make dinner, eat and clean up and then worked again until 10:30. Whew. I think I got everything about done with the exception of some finishing touches this morning. I did get Supercuts in on Saturday morning. It was supposed to be Supercuts+BBW. I did the 1 min of walking lunges and 20 seconds of icebreakers and decided I didn't want to do anymore BBW. Yesterday was my rest day and this morning was AOLIH and I added on Core number 1. It was nice having a shorter and easier one this morning. Happy Monday everyone!

Pam
