Strength in Numbers

I had a really hard time getting up this morning. I was snuggling with Maggie and getting close to just staying in bed. But I got up anyway and did Pedal Power. I did the regular mix instead of the scrambled premix. Next time I will do the scrambled premix as I think I might like that one better.

Janie Great job on disc 2! What ice cream maker did you get? I have a Cuisinart but I haven’t used it in years. I didn’t have good luck with getting it to not stick to the sides of the containers and it just wasn’t as good as store bought but I am sure that was my fault. Let us know how the ice cream turns out. That’s too funny about the smell. Funny how we blame our pets first.

Cheryl I usually do my shopping on Thursday or Friday too because the weekend is horrendous. Fridays are bad enough but Saturdays it is so busy sometimes I get cart rage and want to run people over because they take up the entire aisle while they read the label on their box of cereal. Ok I am done ranting now. I love the Double Trouble premix because it seems to go by so fast and it doesn’t seem as repetitive.

Pam Great job on PRS2 + core 2! I wish my week was flying by. Funny how time can feel different between people when in actuality it is the same. I think we are supposed to have a high of 58 today. Whoo hoo! I keep trying to put off getting out my heavier coat and stick to the light jacket until the end of November but I think I may have to just get it out. It is true that some days the workouts seem to go better than others.

This sprain is really getting to me. No cardio for me today, again. Got the icream/yogurt maker. Looks like I have to use a lot of fat to make ice cream. Hmmm, will use other ingredients and we will see how it turns out. If it doesn't then I will have lots of healthy smoothies. LOL

Julie, I purchased the 2 quart Cuisinart ice cream and frozen yogurt maker. Good for you getting up and doing Pedal Power. Does your bottom hurt during this cardio. Man O Man! I tried a towel, and other various things, but Man O Man!

Julie Great job dragging yourself out of your warm bed and doing the PP yesterday! Oh man, I can relate to the cart rage. Why do some people have to take up the entire aisle?! The ones that drive me crazy too are the ones who are walking along really slowly because they are too busy talking on their cell phones :rolleyes: I had to join you in your rant! :D You are tougher than I am, I get out my heavy coat, scarf, and gloves at the slightest dip in the temperature. I don't like being cold!

Janie Oh so sorry about your sprain, I know how frustrating it is to want to do cardio and not be able to. Hang in there, I'm glad you can at least get your weight work in. Oh yes, I use a LOT of fat when I make ice cream - heavy cream, whole milk and eggs....No wonder it is so good huh?! Let me know how your healthier versions turn out!

This morning I had absolutely no motivation to work out. I was wide awake and had no problem getting up, but just wasn't feeling the workout for some reason. Luckily I had XTrain Chest, Back and shoulders burn sets on the calendar and that goes by so quickly that it wasn't bad at all. Happy Friday everyone, I am ready for the weekend!

This morning I did Get Glutes. Plus To The Max step cardio, step tabata, and 30/20. I had to take breaks between segments. I also do not use 3 risers for the power turn squats so I had to pause to increase the step height after that segment in 30/20. So glad it is Friday. Now if my work day can go by fast so I can get home.

Janie So sorry about your foot still being in pain. Hopefully the resting helps. I think that was my problem with the ice cream maker and why it didn’t work. I tried to make low fat ice cream and it didn’t work out well. I don’t have problems anymore with spinning workouts. When I first started, I had issues and ended up buying padded cycling shorts. It helped ease me into spinning. I don’t use them anymore.

Pam Good job for getting BS CBS in with no motivation! I know how those days are when you really don’t want to work out but I always remind myself that I have never regretted working out. I have been trying to be better about the cold and pushing myself. I have usually been like you and gotten out the winter gear early Fall but I keep telling myself that being cold increases my metabolism so suck it up.

If I do anymore exercises that involve my foot, I'll never heal it. Can't do legs yet until the sprain heals. All I'm doing is aggravating it. So no more legs for awhile. Darn! Well I have the upper body I can do. This can take a while.

Pam, Great job on doing CTrain Chest, back and shoulders burn sets, even though you didn't have the motivation to it. Proud of ya.

Julie, Great job on doing Get Glutes and To The Max step cardio, step tabata and 30/30. Wow! Give me some of that energy! Good job!

I decided to make unready my rest day instead if today and spent the day cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. Our dinner with our friends was a lot of fun and. My high fat ice cream was really good :) This morning I woke up with a killer headache and was worried about getting my workout in, but after some ibuprofen and laying down for awhile I was feeling a lot better so I decided to give it a try. I was glad I did because it made me feel better. I did cardio leg blast and XTrain disc 2 bis and tris. Then I went out and blew the leaves off the lawn. It was just beautiful all weekend, in the 70s and sunny. I wish it would last. My good friends husband passed away last night after a 2 year long battle with cancel :( So sad, but also a bit of a relief because he had been suffering so much for so long. Please keep her in your thoughts. Talk to you tomorrow,

About 26 years ago, joey got into an accident while riding a motorcycle. He had to use crutches. I'm now using his crutches form that era. Pretty cool, he never gives things up. Anyhoo, doing so makes my foot feel a little better. I use it as often as I can. Sure hurts the underarms though. LOL Thinking I need more of a foundation in my workouts, I decided to purchase Travis Elliot's "The Ultimate Yogi (12 disc set) $109.99, but got it on Amazon from a 2nd party for $59.94 new. Planning on using them on the days between weight days. As soon as my foot is up to it. Most likely after Thanksgiving or so...

, When I read your message here earlier, I decided to use Joey's crutches. I think it will make life a little less painful, but they are hard to use. My underarms hurt. LOL I'm icing it every night too. Love it when I take a bath, put my leg up, wrap ice around the foot and enjoy the hot bath. Mmmmmmmm. Looking forward to tomorrow's workouts with Cathe.

Great job on cookmax and cleanmax. Have to eat the stuff I tried to make into ice cream first before I attempt another homemade ice cream LOL. Trying to make it healthy, but now that I know it needs fat, will consider almond milk, greek yogurt, coconut milk, even Geleten (MS). I have a feeling it will take a while.;). So sorry you woke up with a headache, but glad, for your sake, you did cardio leg blast and Xtrain disc bis and tris. Then doing yardmax. Wow. You are very lucky with your 70 + degree weather. Glad for you, and bet you enjoyed it. Awwww, so sorry about your good friends husband. But glad he won't be in pain any longer. I'm sorry for your loss sweetie. (hugs and prayers to you and your hubby and him and his family).

Yesterday morning I did Get Glutes work and extra upper body work. Then DH and I had the start to our typical lazy day Sunday which was interrupted a little after 11 with a tornado warning to take shelter. Tornadoes in November! I have lived in Central IL my entire life and can never remember a tornado in November. So we turn on the news and yep there is one that just went through the town I grew up in and is headed towards our small town. I took the dogs downstairs and DH (of course) went outside with the neighbors to look for the tornado. A few minutes later, I hear DH hauling down the stairs and yelling for me to get in the bathroom. He threw poor Maggie into the tub and told me to hold her there. He said he saw the tornado and it was headed towards town. It must have ended up turning just before it got to town though because there was no damage to any of the houses in town but all the power lines are down, there are farm houses and buildings missing or with severe damage. We are lucky though. The town of Washington where I grew up has so much damage it is insane. My brother, sister-in-law, and father-in-law live in Washington but I think they were at the end of town that did not get hit. This article mentions Roanoke which is 15 miles east of Washington. I live about 5 miles east of Roanoke. The power is still out and there is no estimated time from the power company on when they will get it back up.

Janie I think that is a good idea to lay off doing legs and cardio until your foot feels better. Than ease into it with non-weighted exercises and low impact cardio. I still have my crutches too. You never know when you might need them.

Pam Great job on clean and cook max! And for Cardio Leg Blast plus Bis/Tris! So sorry about your loss. Yes, he is not suffering anymore and that is a good thing.

Janie oh boy, I can imagine the crutches must be really hard on the underarms. I'm glad that you have that option to keep weight off your foot though. You will have to let us know how you like the Ulitmate Yogi, it looks like you got a great deal on the set! Oh, your bath and icing your foot sounds nice, so glad you are taking care of it. It's going to be another gorgeous day here today, but looks like our temps are dropping overnight. We are only supposed to make it into the 50s tomorrow. I can't complain though with all of the terrible weather that so many have been having. Thanks for the hugs, I'm just so sad for my friend.

Julie Great job on GG and upper body work. I was thinking about you yesterday when I heard about all of those terrible storms, so happy to know that you are all safe and you didn't have any damage. We have so many friends and family in that area, what a scary scary thing. I can't even imagine actually seeing the tornado, your DH must have been so scared.

This morning for me was Intensity. I was huffing and puffing like crazy, but I made it through. I found myself wondering why I think CCC is harder than this one though......I guess it's all a matter of which one you happen to be doing at the time. My sister went into the hospital by ambulance this morning around 4 am. She had been in all last week and just got home Saturday night but wasn't doing well yesterday. She has Congestive Heart failure, among many other things, and was having breathing problems and not eating. She has type 1 diabetes and they were having trouble getting her blood sugar under control. I don't know what all is happening today yet, but please keep her in your thoughts as well. Well I missed working out on Thursday and Friday. I worked out on Saturday but I can't remember what I did :confused: and Sunday was yoga. Today I did AOLIH and burn sets Chest. I think I need a vacation, I am getting a bit run down. So this morning walking to the office they were setting up for filming and we were New York. One of the buildings was the 35th precinct and there was New York taxis and police cars. Not sure what show they were filming but Almost Human and The Tomorrow People are filmed here so it may have been for one of those shows.

Julie, Great job on yesterday's Get Glutes and extra upper body work. OMG! I would have been so scared with the tornado warning. I watched the news and IL got the brunt of it. You were so blessed that the Tornado had turned off course from the town. OMG! Most of all I'm so grateful you guys are all OK. OMG! I saw in the news some damage of the town of Washington. It is so horrible! My prayers, hugs, vibes are all with you in IL and the other surrounding parts that got hit as well. Continue to take of yourselves and be safe.

Pam, Great job on Intensity. Huffing and Puffing is good. LOL So proud of you. So sorry to hear about your sister's health problems. I'm hugging you, sending good vibes and prayers to your sister. I'm so sorry she's going through that.

, My foot is still to painful for yoga and other exercises. I barely make it through setting up the equipment for the upper body and then putting it away. Ouchy! But it's got to be done. Hopefully my foot will feel better to do yoga after Thanksgiving. Great job on what every you did on Sat. and Sunday's yoga. Also for today's AOLIH and burn sets Chest. So cool to come close the watching filming going on. LOL How exciting. Take a vacation if you can, especially if you need it.

Cheryl Thanks for the hugs. My sister is doing much better now. They put her on oxygen and it has really helped. So funny that you can't remember your workout on Saturday, I have those days too. Great job on whatever it was! :p Great job on yoga, AOLIH and BS chest too!! That must be fun seeing some of those film sets. Maybe a little surreal to have your city looking like a different city!

This morning for me was supposed to be Cardio Leg Blast, but since I just did that one on Sunday I subbed in Disc 32, plyo legs. I was happy that it didn't have the 1/2 turn jumps, but it does have those 1 legged squat thrusts which just kill me too! Have a great day ladies!

Last night after work I went home and did Intensity using my portable DVD player. We still didn’t have power so we packed some clothes and all the food in the refrigerator and headed to my mom’s house. Stayed the night with her last night and when we woke up this morning we had a text message from the electric company that our power was restored. We’ll probably stay with my mom again tonight just to give the fridge time to get cold before we bring all the food back.

Cheryl Great job on your Saturday workout (too funny you can’t remember what it was), yoga on Sunday, and AOLIH and BS Chest! Do you have plans to take any time off in the next month or so? I think I may end up taking the week between Christmas and New Year’s off but I am not positive yet. I definitely need some time off but I am so stingy with my vacation. That is so cool that they film in your city.

Janie Great job on disc 4! Better late than never, right? It was weird but I wasn’t that scared. I was more worried about my poor dogs than myself or my house. I haven’t been into Washington since the damage. We were there on Saturday doing shopping. I hope they can find places for all those people that lost their homes. Terrible thing to have happen at any time but especially right before Thanksgiving.

Pam Great job on Intensity! You inspired me to go home and do it last night. I had Imax 3 on schedule but it was stuck in the DVD player that didn’t have any power so it wouldn’t open the tray. Intensity did the trick for me though. Helped ease some of the stress. I am so sorry to hear about your sister. That must be really scary for both of you. You are both in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy return home. Great job on plyo legs! Those 1-legged squat thrusts always put my balance to the test. I end up all of the room.

Julie Great job on doing intensity on your portable DVD player with no power! It's nice that your mom and dad still had power and you had somewhere to stay. I'm glad that I could be your inspiration :) Oh yea, I am all over the place with the 1-legged squat thrusts too. This time I started with my left leg because I always start with my right and then when I get to my left think how much harder it is on the left. Well guess what, it's just a lot harder when you get to the second leg, no matter which leg you start with! :rolleyes:

Cheryl Great job on XTrain legs and rear delts! You know, I'm not sure if I have ever done the rear delts either, is that one of the bonuses?

This morning for me was PUB and 300 walking lunges. Of course, I couldn't get through all of the planks. I did remember Cheryl's tip about doing abs first on this one, but I can't skip to the end because I burned it from a DVD. I added a few more at the end to try to make up for some of the ones that I couldn't do, but still didn't come close to doing as many pikes as they do! I also cheated a bit on the lunges because I didn't do them straight through. I did them as I was walking around doing other stuff so had quite a few breaks. I did do the last 80 straight through without breaks and that was hard enough! My glutes will definitely be talking to me tomorrow, they are already from yesterday's plyo legs :rolleyes: Have a great day ladies!

Last night I stopped by my house after work to do my Get Glutes workout. Tonight we will move everything back from my mom’s to our house so probably no workout. Will start back on normal schedule tomorrow.

Janie Hope your foot is getting better. I am thankful we could stay at my mom’s during this especially with so many people who are now having to stay in shelters because they don’t have family close by.

Cheryl Great job on XTrain Legs + Rear Delts! I like the rear delts work she does in that one. They could almost be done anytime because you don’t get that sweaty doing them and they don’t require heavy weights. I’m there with you hoping Christmas is right around the corner.

Pam Great job on PUB and 300 Walking Lunges! Wow! I think those walking lunges have kept me away from doing any rotations Cathe lists with those in there. Anything higher than 50 and I am out. Definitely can’t do them in the 100s. I don’t think I can count that high. I don’t think that is cheating. You were being smart and multi-tasking.

Pam The rear delts is one of the bonuses. I will be doing that one again. Great work on PUB too bad that you couldn't skip to the end and get those planks over with first. As Julie said you were multi-tasking on the walking lunges. I think 300 is a lot so I don't think it was bad to take a few breaks.

Julie Glad that you will be able to move back into your house today. I liked the rear delt work too. You are right that it can be done anytime.

Today I did Tabatacize premix #12 Rounds 1 and 2 plus burn sets back and core #1. Tomorrow I am not sure if I will get a workout in or not. I am helping out at our Managers Forum tomorrow, I need to be there by 7am and I am not sure what time I will be able to leave. I may not get home until 6 or 7pm so we will see.

Tonight was Mesocycle 1, disc 5, back and triceps. I felt strong today.

Cheryl, So glad you will be on vacation between Christmas and New Years. Great job on XTrain Legs and Rear Delts.

Pam, Great job on this mornings PUB with the 300 walking lunges. Just doing blanks after ab work is amazing and those Pikes, wow girl, keep on going. You are doing so good. Modifying the lunges as you did with breaks is OK in my book. LOL Enjoy your DOM tomorrow.

Cheryl, Great job on Tabatacize premix #12 rounds 1 & 2 and burn sets back and core 1. Wow! If you can enjoy a rest day tomorrow. You did amazingly well today.

Julie Great job on your GG workout! I'm sure you're happy to be moving back home but it is nice that you had somewhere to go other than a shelter. I feel terrible for those people who lost their homes, I can't even imagine that. I must admit that I don't always do all of the bonuses when Cathe includes them in the rotations. It looks like a pretty good rotation even without the bonuses. I know my glutes have been talking to me all week so far! You are too funny - can't count that high! :p

Cheryl I'm pretty sure I haven't done the rear delts, it sounds like I need to check them out. I may break down and buy a new copy of PUB just so that I can do the abs first! It is so hard to do those pikes and planks after frying my upper body like that! Great job on Tabatize 12, that sounds like a great premix! It sounds like a very long day for you today, I hope it goes well!

Janie Great job on disc 5, and woo hoo for feeling strong. Doesn't that always make you smile? :D I don't think I did as well as you might think with the planks and pikes. I only did MAYBE half as many pikes as they did and didn't do the planks where you hold one leg up at all! Still a LOT of room for improvement there!

This morning was Butts and Guts. Cathe wasn't kidding about this being a new and improved Rock Bottoms. Ouch! My legs were shaking when I walked downstairs after I was done! I'm glad I have a nice soft chair at work :rolleyes: Once again the week is flying by for me. I guess that is the benefit of being super busy! I hope everyone has a great day.
