Strength in Numbers

In addition to my hip thrusts, 3 sets of single leg ht isohold for max time of 45 seconds each, I did Great Glutes!! Last night I downloaded Great Glutes so I could do it this morning. The servers were extremely slow but I got it downloaded in only 3 hours. X10 took almost 7 to download! I am hoping the rest download faster tonight. I should get my actual DVDs tomorrow. There wasn’t a lot of new moves in GG, maybe 2. But I will say that the floorwork section with the pizza presses made me cry.

Cheryl Great job on yoga! I am glad you are feeling better. I notice that when I am done with my stressful time, I am exhausted for a few days. It is like I run on adrenaline during the stress time and then it all goes downhill after that. Great job on Cardio Supersets as well!

Janie Let us know how you like Lastice. I really need to get back in the habit of stretching regularly. You should have plenty to keep you busy when the Cathe’s arrive. Did you have them shipped to your house or the Beach House?

Have a great day!

Someone had mentioned recovery training until the Cathe workouts come, or until I can have access to them. I like the idea. Today Joey, Rolly and me interval walked/run on the beach for 45 min. Then another 30 min. looking at all the things around us. It was such a beautiful in-between storm day.

Janie Let us know how you like Lastice. I really need to get back in the habit of stretching regularly. You should have plenty to keep you busy when the Cathe’s arrive. Did you have them shipped to your house or the Beach House?

Julie, Great job on the hip thrusts and Great Glutes. Pizza presses sound extremely challenging. LOL, I can't wait to modify! Cathey should be at Shelton on the 4th. Not sure if I will be there then. We'll see. Will be leaving the Beach House in two weeks, so it may be that long before I can take part in the new DVD's. Oh well.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Hi ladies,

Just a quick check in while our class is working on lab exercises. I have a nice big room at the hotel here and am on the ground floor so I have been able to get some workouts in. I have to say that it has felt great! Yesterday I did tabatacise. After the 3rd round I considered stopping, but being so stubborn I just paused it for awhile and walked around and then did the last 2 rounds. I was feeling it a bit this morning, but not too bad. This morning I did Kick, Punch and Crunch and then core #1. I have a feeling that my abs are going to be feeling it tomorrow because I haven't done any ab work in so long.
I had Monday afternoon free after I got here so I went and walked around downtown London browsed in Harrods. This time we are not staying in town and it takes a long time to get there on the bus and subway, so I have not been back yet. I may go into town Friday night and try to see a musical, but I'm going to wait and see how I am feeling on Friday! The hotel has 3 different restaurants so at least we can get some variety there since there is nothing else close by. Last night was had Indian at the hotel and it was quite good. of course I will have to have fish and chips while I am here too.
I'm glad to see that everyone is doing so well. Cheryl, it sounds like things are getting better for you, I hope that continues. Janie, the stretching DVD sounds very interesting, do let us know what you think of it. Julie, I'm a little jealous of you having the new Cathe workouts, but I'm excited that mine will be waiting for me when I get home. It was a little disappointing to read that GG doesn't have any new moves. And oh the dreaded pizza press, ugh! Take care ladies!

This morning I did my hip thrust challenge. Then I tried to do some of X10 using the downloads on my computer. I got all of the step portion done and I think most of Low Impact. It was freezing up on me and kept rewinding on itself. I finally gave up at the start of the 2nd set of staggered pushups. I don’t get my dvds until tomorrow afternoon so I hope it goes better tomorrow morning because I want to try Lean Legs.

Janie Great job on your family walk/run and sightseeing on the beach. Only two weeks left at the beach house. Well I guess it is starting to get to Fall and after that is the big W. I like the idea of active recovery until you can get the new Cathe’s. Cathe might actually have put together a rotation using the new workouts too by the time you get them.

Pam Great job on Tabatcise and KPC + core #1! I am stubborn too and would rather pause and get my heart rate under control and then hit it again. I tend to do that a lot though. Enjoy the fish and chips and get ready for some new Cathe’s when you get home.

Have a great day!

Janie Enjoy your rest day. Let us know what you think of your new stretch DVD. Good for you to get out between rain storms. It has been quite ugly weather wise around here.

Julie Good job on your hip thrust challenges and Great Glutes. You are so lucky to be able to try some of the new workouts. Oh Boy those pizza presses can get you you know where :D. It sure does take a long time to download hopefully you get your DVD's in the mail soon.

Pam You are so good in getting your workouts in while you are travelling. Too bad that you aren't staying in downtown London but at least you had some time to walk around. You do have to have fish and chips along with a pint while you are there.

Julie How frustrating to have it freeze up on you. At least you know when you are getting your DVDs.

I don't know what it is but I am so tired. I crawl back into my pj's as soon as I get home. The weather here is so cold and rainy. It seems we went from summer to winter with no fall. I need to break out the winter coat as my Spring/Fall coat isn't quite warm enough now.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Still no DVDs yet. Should be here tonight. This morning I did Lean Legs & Abs on my computer using the download. It was a nice little workout. Definitely not a GSL or B&G but a good one nonetheless. This one had more new moves in so it felt new not just remixed. I did make the mistake of using the green firewalker band for the lying outer thigh lifts and about cried when Cathe tacked on a final set. I also did my hip thrust challenge which was 3 sets of hip thrust marches.

Cheryl I think there is something wrong with my iTunes player. It wouldn’t open this morning so I used QuickTime (I think that is what it was called). No problems with freezing. That’s weird how the weather works some times. We are having a late Summer with temps in the 80s this week which is crazy for October. Not that I am complaining that Winter is staying away a little longer.

Have a great day!

Cheryl Wow, sorry to hear you are still feeling so exhausted. I imagine the weather has something to do with it. Going right from Summer to winter is no fun at all!!! Cold and rainy is the worst in my opinion, it's just so dreary. Take care and I hope you are feeling more like your old self soon!

JulieOh boy, that must have been so frustrating when X10 kept locking and rewinding on you! I just hate that when I'm trying to get a good workout in. Good for you on sticking it out for as long as you did and for your hip thrust challenge! Great job on Lean Legs &Abs and your hip thrust challenge! How were those outer thighs feeling after that?! I have been reading some of the reviews on the new DVDs on the forum. The reviews on Party Rocking Step (number 1 I think?) seem to be pretty mixed so I'm anxious to see what that is all about. Flex Train seems to be getting pretty favorable reviews though.

This morning was All Out Low Impact Hiit, double floor and then I tacked on the disc portion as well since I brought my discs with me. My body seems to want to be up at 5:00 am here, so I've been getting my workout done before my alarm even goes off since class doesn't start until 9:30. Only 2 more nights for me and I am ready to get home! I am so excited to know that my new Cathe's will be waiting for me when I get there!

Pam

Got my DVDs last night so everything went smooth this morning when I did parts of X10. I first did my hip thrust challenge. After that I did X10 Hi/Lo, Cardio Blast, and Fat Burning Circuits. Those X10 segments are no joke. They are non-stop, high energy, and keep the heart rate up, up, up.

Pam Great job on AOLIH double floor + discs! Surprisingly even with using the green band my outer thighs are not too sore this morning. You will be so happy to open that box of DVDs when you get home. Then comes the hard part of choosing which one to do first. It was so much fun opening my box last night and seeing a nice tidy stack of new workouts. DH was with me and asked me what we got. Before I could say anything, he looked in the box and said “oh what else, more workouts”.

Have a great day ladies!

Sorry about being MIA, our computer here (Beach House) has a small bandwidth and we used it up this month. When trying to go to pages it took forever. Then Joey added some money and now we are UP for a little while longer. Such a headache. Living in such a rural area sometimes sucks when it comes to technology. Phone too, we are always paying for roaming charges. OK enough already. Joe and I spent about an hours or so on our bikes yesterday, just riding around our area. So much fun! Joey, Rolly and I went to a popular trail at Westport and walked about 2 hours and a half. It was so beautiful at the oceans side. Wow.

Cheryl, I agree on the Summer to Winter expression. What happen to Fall?

Julie, Great job on Lean Legs and Abs. By using the green band you must have gained muscle. LOL I do that too. Ouch! Also great job on your hip thrust challenge. Wow

Pam, Great job on AOLIH, double floor and tacking on the disc portion. Do have a safe trip home in a couple of days.

Julie, So glad you have the DVD's. Yea! And great job doing parts of X10; Hi/lo, Cardio Blast, Fat Burning Circuits and hip thrust challenge.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Nice that you could do one of the new workouts. I am looking forward to the lower body workouts. You are so lucky with having a late Summer. I have been fighting off a cold and I have now taken out the winter coats . Only 6 more months of clouds and rain .

Pam Good job on AOLIH. Nice that you are able to get up early to get it done. So exciting that you know you have the new workouts waiting for you. I may get mine by the end of next week if things go well.

Julie Nice that you got your DVDs. Oh Boy X10 sounds like it will be a doozy.

Janie That is too bad about your technology issues. Roaming charges can really add up. Nice that you could take advantage of the nice weather yesterday and get out and enjoy it. I already feel as if we are in Winter and I need to take out the heavy sweaters.

So I took a vacation day today and this morning I did Hardstrikes. I was going to tack on Core 1 but after the sit up/ push up combo I decided not to. My abs were a bit fried. Yesterday I was still really tired so no workout. I feel a lot better today but it may be because I didn't have to go to work. I feel like I am fighting off a cold too so that may be why I feel tired as well.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Congratulations on getting your DVDs! Oh boy, X10 sounds great, I can hardly wait! Great job on the hip thrust challenge and x10 workouts! I asked my DH if my workouts were there and he said that he wasn't telling, that I had to come home and see for myself :) thee is nothing like having a nice new box of Cathe workouts to open! I have nod idea which one I will try first.

Janie Technology is wonderful when everything is working well, huh? Glad to seed you are back online, at least for a while! Wow, it sounds like you had so much fun with your bike riding and hiking! I love that kind of workout!

Cheryl oh ugh! winter is miserable. I'm happy to be going home to warm weather. It was of cold in Stockholm, but not too bad in London. It's supposed to be in the mid 80's at home this weekend though,so I am looking forward to that. Maybe you will get an Indian summer..... Great job on Hardstrikes, I don't think I would be up for another core workout after that pu/su combo either! Uh oh, I hope you are able to keep that cold away!

Yesterday morning I did travel fit. I have only done that one a couple of times, but it's not a bad little workout. Definitely on the lighter side, but that was perfect for me yesterday. This morning I did CCC since I figured I should do something intense before sitting on a plane for 8 hours. My Achilles issues seem to be all better so the rest did them good and now I am ready for the new workouts. I'm sitting at the airport waiting for the flight home! I'm looking forward to be ing home for 3 wheel weeks! It's going to be a crazy month with it's going on both at work and at home, but I'm happy I'll be home for most of it. Have a great day ladies!

Pam

Pam I saw on FB that you made it home. It will be nice to sleep in your own bed and then try out those new workouts. Wow mid 80s it is no where near that here. I have put on the electric blanket on the bed and have packed away the summer clothes and now have my winter coat out and ready to use :(. Travel Fit is a nice workout when you are on the road. Good job on that and CCC as well. So you said that you will be home for three weeks, does that mean that you will be off traveling again soon?

This morning I did Cardio Legs, wow it had been a while since I had done that one. Half way through I had to lower the step from three risers down to two but other than that I made it through.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cheryl

So today was my last day of the hip thrust challenge. Technically I have 2 days left but I am quitting early so I can start the Get Glutes month 1 tomorrow. After that it was cleaning and running a few errands.

Janie Great job on getting out on your bikes and walking the trails. So nice to have all that beautiful nature around you to enjoy. Does Rolly get to go on the bike rides?

Cheryl Great job on HS! That su/pu combo does get your core good and your heart rate up there too. I hope you are not getting a cold. Even with the high temps, I know Winter won’t completely stay away. Great job on CLB! I have to lower the risers to 2 most of the time too. Especially with the last cardio blast that is over the top. By that time I am ready to crash.

Pam Great job on TF! That one is a nice lighter one but perfect for travel. Great job on CCC! So glad your heels are better. There’s no place like home.

Have a great day!

Today was a bike ride with my Joey for 40 min. We went to investigate how the growers of Ocean Spray Cranberries were doing. We were hoping for a lot of action, instead they were winding down and putting the equipment away. We missed the most busy part of picking to boxing to sending out their crops. Darn. We will remember that starting in Sept. is the time to investigate. Also Rolly and I went for a walk on the beach for about 40 min. Very beautiful weather we are having the last couple of days. Hopefully tomorrow as well.

Pam, Great job on yesterday's TF. I love this workout. Also great job on CCC. So glad to hear your Achilles issues are better. Yea! So nice to see you are home safely.

Cheryl, Great job on Cardio Legs. Wow, I never use 3 risers. You are amazing! I use to use 3 risers, but not for a very long while.

Julie, Congratulations on the last day of your hip thrust challenge. You stayed with it for as long as you did. I would have quit too, to do Get Glutes. Rolly can't go on the bike rides yet. When we bring over the baby thingy to put in the back of our bikes, then he will be able to. I would love to see how that goes with him. Next year.

Take care,

Janie

Julie Congratulations on finishing your hip thrust challenge. CLB is a killer, one day I would like to have the risers stay a 3.

Janie Good job on your bike ride with Joey. Too bad you missed the action. Next year you will see it. It was nice today especially for a walk on the beach, I am glad you enjoyed it.

This morning I did Yoga Max. After that since it was nice out (was not expecting that) I cleaned up the old plants and swept up. Then I went with DH for a walk in a park by us. I couldn't believe how nice it was and there were lots of people out before the rain hits us again tomorrow.

Cheryl

Went to a completely different beach that I didn't know about until the day before yesterday. And (guess what?) went there again today and found the huge clam shells I've been looking for all Summer to do Doodle art on. I must have searched on the beach for them for at least 2.5 hrs. and got at least 50+ and for sure have 12 huge ones to my complete surprise. Just call it my day off and the end of the active recovery week. Tomorrow Joey and I will head out to Olympia (the biggest city around our area other than Seattle) and get our flu shots, pick up Cathe's DVD's and other mail and off we go back to the Beach House for another couple of weeks or less. We'll see how it goes. Right now it's raining like cats and dogs. Will start on the October rotation starting with Rockout Knockout. I can't wait!

Cheryl, Great job on Yoga Max, cleanmax and a walk with hubby in he park. Yep, I bet you are now getting soaked with all the rain that is coming down now.

Take care,

Janie

Cheryl Oh yes, it has been wonderful sleeping in my own bed AND trying out some of the new workouts. Oh no, it's too early for an electric blanket and winter coat  I was happy to come back to warm weather after a couple of weeks of cold/cool. Yes, I'm home for three weeks and then will be in Rome for a week. As far as I know right now, that is the last of my travel for the year, but of course that can change at any time! Great job on cardio legs. I haven't done that one in a long time either....in fact it's been so long that I can't think of what it is like

Jule Great job on finishing your hip thrust challenge! I say you finished it even though you are not doing the last 2 days! You are so right, there is no place like home!!

Janie Great job on your bike ride with Joey. That's a bummer that you missed the activity with the Ocean Spray cranberries, but that will definitely be something to look forward to next year. Sounds like fun! Great job on your walk with Rolly too, glad you are getting to enjoy the nice weather.

Cheryl Great job on YM! I'm glad to hear that you got some more nice weather and that you were able to get out and enjoy it too!

Janie Woo Hoo! Congratulations on your great shell haul! So excited that you found that new beach and I can't wait to see some of your creations! How exciting that you are off to pick up your DVDs. I didn't even know there was an October rotation out, I'll have to check it out. I've just been having fun deciding which workout to try next so far.

Yesterday I had planned as a rest day, but I was wide awake at 4 am with no hope of falling back asleep. I tried for awhile, but finally gave up and got up and did Party Rockin Step number 1. I was a little nervous about it after reading some of the reviews about how lost people were, but it went pretty well. I had no problem at all with the last 2 combos that a lot of people said were really hard to follow. There was one part that I still haven't gotten yet where she does a grapevine down the bench and then turns around and does another grapevine down the bench facing the back of the room. I practiced that one a little more after I finished and I *think* I have the count down now. The challenge at the end is tricky too because she doesn't really cue the next move in advance, and I couldn't remember what came next in most of the combos. It was still fun and a good workout. This morning I did Flex Train. That is a really fun one. It just moves so fast from one move to the next with almost no pauses. I had to rewind a couple of times because I couldn't get my weights out fast enough! I haven't decided what's on the agenda for tomorrow yet, maybe some X10.....Happy Monday everyone!

Pam

Sunday I did my first Get Glutes workout. I can’t remember if I mentioned this or not but in September I bought a lifetime membership to the Get Glutes program. Every month they come out with 3 strength workouts to do for 4 weeks. I am pretty excited about it because I loved the results I got from Bret’s Strong Curves program. I still plan to do Cathe the other 3 days. Technically Get Glutes gives you 3 strength and 3 cardio workouts but I don’t want to do their cardio workouts. I would miss Cathe too much. The rest of Sunday was spent being lazy. This morning I did Flextrain. It was a decent workout. The triceps section is killer.

Janie That would be really neat to visit the Ocean Spray cranberry bogs. I love all things cranberries. Great job on your bike ride and your walk. That would be so cute to see Rolly in one of those baby things for bikes. Congrats on all the shells you found. 2.5 hours is a long time to spend walking up and down the beach. You are awesome. So excited for you getting the new workouts.

Cheryl Great job on Yoga Max! How nice to have unexpected nice weather. It probably felt good to get outside and clean up the plants and go for a walk. DH actually wanted to go for a walk yesterday because he thinks Ozzie is getting fat and needs to lose weight. It was a little chilly for me, I think the high yesterday was around 55. Guess my Indian Summer is over.

Pam Oh boy up at 4 on a Sunday! Hopefully you slept good last night to make up for it. Wow Rome sounds like that would be awesome to visit. Rome and Greece are two places I would love to visit. Great job on PRS1 and Flextrain! FT does move fast. It was over before I knew it.

Have a great day!

Janie Good for you in getting all those clam shells. You can do your doodle art when the weather isn't nice out. Like for the next 6 months . Yep the rain is coming down here pretty good now too. You are so lucky you have your DVDs waiting for you. If I am lucky I will get mine by the end of the week.

Pam Wow you sure have done a lot of travelling with your job the last little while. Hopefully you can stay home for a while after this trip. At least Rome will be warm and you don't have to worry about a winter coat yet. Oh yuck being awake at 4am on a Sunday. It will take a while to get used to the time again. Good job on Party Rockin Step.

Julie Good work on your Get Glutes workout. Interesting that you get new workouts every month. That will give you some variety. Are these harder than Cathe's lower body workouts? Good job on Flextrain too. Poor Ozzie does he need to lose much weight? For us it was about 70 degrees out yesterday. Today it was the same as you around 55 degrees.

Today I did a BOSU cardio workout. I am still waiting for my DVDs to come. I know they are starting to arrive it is just a matter of when.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Went first thing to get our flu shot, then some errands, then got Cathe DVD's and now back at the Beach House. Viewed first and the October Rotation was Rockout Knockout. Did it but used the time saver #1. I love how boxing exercises are so very good to the abs. I felt my abs tight and being used all the way through the workout. Not to mention how my upper body was fatigued by using (not my boxing gloves because they are at the other place) the weighted gloves. Fantastic! Sweat fest!

Pam, Great job on being bored in the middle of the night and doing Party Rockin Step #1. Good for you! Thank you for the review on this one. I'm excited to do it in the 2nd week of the rotation. Also for this mornings Flex Train. Flex train for me is the 3rd week. This is so great and all pumped up.

Julie, Great job on Sunday's Get Glutes. You have fantastic diversity using the Get Glutes workouts. Looks really good to me. Also great job on Flextrain. On the October rotation I won't being doing this one until the 3rd week. I started today on the rotation.

Cheryl, Great job on BOSU cardio workout. I think I have that one. Love the BOSU workouts! Can't wait for you to get your new DVD's at the end of the week. Not so far off.

Take care,

Janie
