Strength in Numbers

Pam LOL I am glad that you got your clothes back. Sleep issues are not fun but I am working through them. You sure did have a busy weekend.Good job on Step Fit and the abs from KPC. Wow homemade reuben dogs, that was quite the undertaking. Glad they were good. Good work on GS Chest and Triceps too. My triceps are shaking after that one too.

Julie Good job on your Gorgeous Glutes workout and PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps and on PCCC. I am glad that the power held on until you finished your workout but at least you had something to give you light while you showered.

Janie So nice of Joey to remind you about your workouts. Good job on Total Body Sculpting and Stretching. Simple works too, you don't always need the hard workouts.

Well since I have had such a hard time getting up early in the morning to do my workout I decided to do it after dinner. So I decided to do Intensity since I have been losing a lot of my cardio. Oh boy yes I have lost a lot of my stamina, I struggled through the step portion and then decided just to do the low impact Hiit. Hopefully by doing it in the evenings I won't miss many workouts and I can get back to my old self. I have been putting on a few extra pounds .

Cheryl

Julie Wow, your weekend doesn't sound very lazy to me! Painting, errands and double workouts! Great job on GG, PS CST, CCC and PS bis and Abs. I think that is JCCC that you did! PCCC is 1,4,2,3,5. I think doing it without the abs is harder too, because the abs give you a little break from the intense cardio. Great job!!!! I'm glad that the power held out for your workout and that you were able to see for your shower! Yes, I'm still trying to decide if the homemade hot dogs were worth all the work. I learned a lot though and will space things out a lot more next time. The grinding and spicing of the meat really doesn't take that long. Actually stuffing the dogs didn't either, it was making all the other stuff to put on them that really added up. That and you have to freeze the meat a couple of times for 30 minutes. Everything was supposed to be homemade, including the rolls, but my rolls didn't turn out. I will try those next time again because I learned from my mistakes. Oh how I was dreading those 72 pushups. Wish I could do them all on my toes.

Janie So Joey gave you a little push huh? As long as it was done nicely then that is a good thing! Great job on you TBS and TBS plys the stability ball and abs! Sounds like a good all around workout! Good for you for throwing in that extra 20 minute jog too! :D Oh you are leaving in just a couple of days, you must be so excited! The worst thing about my skiing fall was that my bathing suit bottoms ended up around my knees  I was glad that I was under water because of course this was the day there were two other guys in the boat with DH  I had to readjust my top before I got in the boat too, then I decided to leave my ski vest on just in case! They of course found it quite amusing  Oh yes, your homemade sauerkraut would be fabulous on my reuben dogs!! You will have to bring some ;) This version had homemade thousand island dressing with homemade slaw (using homemade mayo of course) and melted gruyere cheese on the buns. As I told Julie, the buns were supposed to be homemade too, but mine didn't turn out. I will try those again! I do have some pretty good Chest DOMS today. and milder tricep DOMS :D Just a nice amount.

Cheryl New schedules are never much fun to try to adjust to. It's so hard to fit everything into a day, isn't it? I remember the days that I used to get bored, I can't imagine that happening anymore! I hope you are able to workout a schedule (no pun intended) that works for you. You don't mess around when you say you want to get back into your cardio! Great job on Intensity! I am always dying by the end of the step part of that and forget that the Hiit is pretty hard too.....Those darn pounds, don't you wish they could just stay lost?!

This morning for me was Hiit 30/30 and Weights and plates abs. Of course I thought of Janie doing 30/30. I was dripping with sweat at the end and those bike maneuvers with weights on my ankles and wrists were KILLERS! I was noticing some ab DOMS too, but I'm not sure why....I hadn't done any core work since Saturday.. Oh well, I'll take it. Have a great day!

Pam

Did a Christy Taylor today.
Joey's brother has now stopped eating and drinking. The Hospice nurse is saying he will pass 2 days to two weeks. In my experience with my Mom and a very dear friend, once they stop eating especially drinking it's one week the day they stop. I would imagine he will die while we are in HI. They will notify us once he is gone, so that we may say more prayers and just know that finely he is at rest and peace. Bless his heart.

Cheryl, Yep, I have a one of a kind hubby. LOL I think your plan to do exercise after dinner is a good one. Me too with pounds.

Pam, Yes, my Joey did it in a very kind way. I love how he does it and not make me feel bad. We are excited to finely get to HI. We've been stressed out for some reason getting ready. OH NO! Your bottoms came off! Good thing no one saw. You poor thing. LOL I can't help in my minds eye that it could be funny, but then again, I'm so glad you weren't hurt. I had a good time with you guys eating a homemade dinner. LOL;) Congrats on the DOM's. I have minor ones, but hey at least I feel something. LOL
Great job on Hitt 30/30 (my favorite of the Hitts) LOL and Weights and plates abs.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Janie Great job on Christy Taylor. I haven't done one of her workouts in awhile. I hope it was fun and you had a good sweat! Oh, so sorry to hear about Joey's brother, you are right that it sounds like it will be very soon now. I'm sure it will be a relief for him to finally be at peace and pain free.
That is so sweet that Joey is kind about reminding you about your exercising. I'm sure he knows how much you enjoy it. Oh yes, the skiing incident was pretty comical. I did have a bit of a stiff neck yesterday and I imagie that was the culprit. I so enjoyed our homemade dinner together thoo :D We'll have to do it again sometime! Congrats on your DOMS, I know you don't usually get them, so you must be excited when you do!

This morning for me was Hard Strikes. For some reason at the end of the stretching I was sitting there waiting for more. Not sure what was up with that. I was so out of breath from that su/pu combo. Two more days til your trip!! So exciting. I know packing can be stressful sometimes, but just think about how much fun you are going to have. Have a great day!

Pam

So yesterday was a busy day at work and I didn’t get a chance to post. I did due more Gorgeous Glutes work and Pure Strength Back yesterday and did Step Blast this morning. I was fine until the Step Blast Challenge at the end. Then my face got redder than a tomato.

Janie That’s nice of Joey to remind you about your workouts. I am sure he knows that you enjoy doing them and they are good for you to do. Great job on TBSx2! I am sure that even if you don’t do yoga every day in Hawaii you will find plenty to do with all the walking to site see and stroll the beaches. Great job on your 20 min. jog! Great job on your Christi Taylor! I’m so sorry about Joey’s brother. Knowing it is coming won’t make it easier and not being able to be there will be hard too. I will be praying for both of you and hope you can still enjoy your trip to Hawaii.

Cheryl Great job on Intensity! That is quite a toughie! I hope you get your cardio back. I’m working on that for me too. Hope you get your groove back for night workouts. Maybe they will help you sleep better too.

Pam Great job on 30/30 and W&P! That’s weird about the ab DOMS before you did abs. Could have been from all those pushups and I think your core is involved with those. That sounds like a lot of work for those hot dogs. Homemade slaw, dressing, buns, plus the dogs themselves. I’m impressed. I’m sure you will get those rolls right the next time and they will be delish! Great job on HardStrikes! I think I noticed the HS stretch being a little on the light side too. How’s your hamstring been doing?

Have a great day!

My last day to workout here before HI. I did 30/30 LOL. Tomorrow last min. things to do and will spend the night at our daughters and then HI. Will bring a few yoga and cardo DVD's without step, just in case. Well, you never know. Today Joey was scheduled to see a dermatologist. They took 3 samples to see if they were cancerous. They most likely are. Will find out when we get back from HI. He'll most likely go in and get them cut out as usual.

Pam, Great job on Hard Strikes. We are going to have sooooooo much fun in HI!

Julie, Great job on Gorgeous Glutes and Pure Strength. Also for doing Step Blast this morning. Yep, you worked hard! Beet red is good. LOL

Take care everyone,

Janie

Pam I hadn't done Intensity for quite a while so you bet I was dying after the step portion :D. Oh yeah I do wish the pounds would stay lost too.
Good work on Hiit 30/30 and weights and plates abs. Good job on Hard Strikes too. Um you wanted more......I find I am done after that one.

Julie Good work on Gorgeous Glutes and Pure Strength Back and Step Blast this morning. The challenge can be challenging can't it.

Janie 30/30 what a good workout to do before your vacation. Enjoy Hawaii.

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday or workout . By the time dinner was over and the dishes done my brother called and so by the time I got off the phone it was just too late to do it. I didn't even get a chance to get on the computer either. But I did manage to get up early today and do XTrain Bis and Tris. We were going grocery shopping tonight so I knew I wouldn't be able to do it tonight so I made sure I fit it in.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

This morning was Cardio Supersets! Man those mountain climbers kill me every time. It is weird but I much prefer doing mountain climbers without the discs. The discs make it much harder for me. Am I alone on that?

Janie Great job on 30/30! Hmm! I thought maybe you would surprise is with a different workout. Just kidding. Do what you love and you will love what you do, right? Yea! Hawaii is almost here. I know Joey has been dealing with these skin cancers for so long it must be frustrating. Hopefully, if they have to be cut out, all goes well again. Enjoy your trip to Hawaii! I can’t wait to hear about it.

Cheryl Great job on getting up early and getting XTrain Bis/Tris in! Those errands and chores get in the way of having fun with workouts don’t they.

Have a great day!

Julie I had the same problem yesterday as you had Tuesday and didn't get to post. Great job on GG and PS Back and Step Blast! You have to love the beet red face! This morning mine was still red when I got out of the shower! I bet you are right about the ab DOMS being from the pushups. I was trying to figure out what caused them. Oh yea, it was a heck of a lot of work for hot dogs. I do think I know what the issue was with the buns, so will have to try again. The good news is that it made plenty, so I have hot dogs on the freezer so the next time I can skip that part. My hamstrings are doing pretty well I think. I have been doing my PT exercises and stretches religiously so hopefully it is helping. I do notice that I am a bit more flexible when I'm doing my stretches.

Janie Great job on getting on last 30/30 workout in before HI! :D I hope you have a great great trip and you shouldn't stress about trying to get workouts in while you are there. Focus on enjoying the beautiful scenery! I can not wait to hear all about it when you get back! So sorry that Joey is continuing to struggle with that skin cancer. I think I told you that we have a friend who is the same way. It's like once it starts it just keeps popping up. It's good that he is so diligent about staying on top of it!

Cheryl Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't wanting more after Hard Strikes, for some reason I was just expecting more..... Great job getting up earlyu and doing XTrain Bis and Tris. That is why I couldn't work out in the evenings, it seemed like there was often something else that would come up and then my window of opportunity would be gone.

Julie Great job on CSS! Oh no, you are not alone, I think the mountain climbers are a lot harder on the discs too. I have to tell you though, that I never really thought much about the mountain climbers until you mentioned them being hard, and now everytime I do them I feel like I'm dying! I'm not sure what is up with that. I think I might have been doing them slower than they were and didn't notice it before....

Yesterday I had an all morning meeting and then forgot to post after that. My morning workout yesterday was GS Back, shoulders and biceps and then I did the abs from LIC. That is one of my favorite ab workouts. I threw in some pikes on the ball too because I'm determined that I need to get better at them. Last night I had a Girls night out and we went to this place that is known for their desserts. We got one piece of cake to share between 6 of us and couldn't finish it - they are huge. I think it didn't sit well with me though because I felt a bit icky this morning when I got up. I was worried about that because Tabatacise was on the calendar, but I got through it. All 5 rounds with the step blasts on the step and I made it through fine, so guess I am over whatever was going on for awhile there. I did pause between rounds 4 and 5 to have a drink of water and walk around a little though  Happy Friday!

Pam

This morning I did some Gorgeous Glute and my own back work. I’m trying to work up to do unassisted chin ups. Right now I use one of those huge bands to assist and can barely eek out 6 before I am done. I really don’t know if I will ever get to unassisted but I guess I gotta keep trying or I’ll never know.

Pam Great job on GS BSB + LIC (original style) abs! Wow that sounds like a mountainous piece of cake if 6 of you couldn’t finish it. I’m glad you were feeling ok to get through Tabatacise and it seems you are getting your energy level back. Yea that your hamstrings are doing good. I’ve been doing horrible with stretching lately and need to start doing it. Since I have been doing my own leg workouts and not a DVD, I tend to forget I need to stretch at the end. Uh oh! Sorry I ruined the mountain climbers for you. I wonder if I’m doing them slow and that is making them harder.

Have a great day!

Julie Good job on Cardio Supersets. Don't worry you are not alone in thinking that the mountain climbers are harder with the discs. I feel the same way they are easier without them.

Pam Yep I am finding the same thing something always gets in the way of evening workouts. Good work on GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps and the abs from LIC. I find that if I eat something too rich it doesn't sit well with me either. Wow it must have been a big piece of cake if all 6 of you couldn't finish it. Way to go to get through all 5 rounds of Tabatacise when you weren't feeling too well.

Julie Good work on Gorgeous Glutes and your back work. You will get to unassisted chin ups, keep at it and it will happen. And congratulations to the Black Hawks with winning the Stanley Cup. I forgot to mention that earlier.

So again something got in the way of me working out on Thursday night so I did manage to get up early today and do XTrain Chest, Back and Shoulders. Yep too much getting in the way at night. Nice thing though it is our long weekend for Canada Day. Yeah Monday is a holiday and I have the next Friday off as my flex day. I love 3 day weekends and 3 day work weeks.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great jog on GG and back work on Friday. Oh boy, good for you for working on unassisted chin ups, they are sooooooo hard! I love those huge bands! They make me feel strong :D Keep on trying, you will do it! Oh yes, it was the biggest piece of cake I have ever seen. My GFs husband loves desserts and he goes there just for the cake. He takes it home and eats it for three days. Yep,l I curse you every time I do mountain climbers now ;):p

Cheryl Sorry about not being able to get a workout in again. I can totally relate to stuff getting in the way in the evenings. Great job on XTrin CBS on Friday morning though! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend, Happy Canada Day! It's a 3 day workweek for us this week too because of the 4th of July. I could definitely get used to that!

Saturday morning was GS Legs and then I did the bonus stability ball abs from Butts and Gutts. I added some pikes at the end since there weren't any in that one. Yesterday was my rest day but we did ski, then this morning was supposed to be MMA Boxing. I don't like that one so I did SJP instead and did the core work from MMA Boxing. Happy Monday!

Pam

Saturday I spent the day helping my parents move from their old house to their new house. We moved most of their furniture, really mostly the big, big items. They still have clothes and books and stuff at the old house they need to get. I was surprised I was feeling good Sunday morning when I woke up with all the heavy lifting from Saturday. I was able to do my Gorgeous Glutes workout and Pure Strength Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps. Then I hung out with the puppies and tried to relax. Well, the weekend must have caught up with me because this morning I was very stiff and sore. I decided to take today off and rest from working out. I’ll be back at it tomorrow.

Cheryl Sorry something came up and got in the way of you working out at night the other day. Great job though on getting up and getting XT CBS done! Yea! 2 three day weekends in a row with a 3 day workweek. Whatever will you do with yourself? I didn’t watch any of the games but I heard about them the next day. It is amazing they scored 2 goals in a minute to win it all. Crazy!

Pam Great job on GS Legs + adding on B&G abs + more pikes! You are hardcore dedicated to conquering those pikes. Great job on subbing something you like better. SJP is a good one. Uh oh! That’s not good that your cursing my name. I think you should be cursing Cathe’s name. She started it! I’m getting jealous of you and Cheryl’s 3 day weeks. I have a four day week. Guess I could have a 3-day week if I took a vacation day on Friday but I am so stingy with my vacation since I don’t get much of it.

Have a great day!

Pam Good job on GS Legs and the stability ball abs from Butts and Gutts. Good work on SJP and core work from MMA boxing too.

Julie See working out has helped you with all that heavy lifting. It is amazing how much stuff we have. We don't notice it until we have to pack it all up. Good job on your Gorgeous Glutes workout and PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Sounds like a day off is what you needed.

Well it was a lazy weekend. Saturday we had a BBQ with all the neighbours and then Sunday we had my parents and brother over for a BBQ for my parents birthdays. It was my mom's birthday yesterday and my dad's is today. It was super hot this weekend too, a little too hot for me so besides getting the housework done of Saturday I haven't done too much, well besides working out. Saturday I did XTrain Legs, Sunday I did yoga relax it was too hot and I wasn't moving very fast so I didn't bother going to Lululemon for the class. Today I did a cardio BOSU workout and BOSU ab work. Wow by the end of the ab work I was so sweaty I was slipping off the BOSU.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Wow, you had quite the busy weekend. All of that heavy lifting and then GG and PS CST! No wonder it caught up with you by Monday morning! Moving is such hard work! Great job with everything! Oh yes, I am determined to get better at those pikes. Like you and your chin ups! Don't worry, Cathe gets cursed a LOT more often than you do :p;) Oh that's a bummer that you have to work on Friday. I'm glad they gave us both days as holidays.

Cheryl Great job on all of your workouts! XTrain legs, YR and BOSU workouts! Oh boy, slipping off the BOSU, that doesn't sound like much fun!
I hope you aren't getting the crazy hot weather like they are getting in the SW. I just can't believe some of those temps!

Well, yesterday morning I had a scratchy throat and by last night it was on fire. I went to bed early and went right to sleep, but then woke up around midnight and could NOT get back to sleep until about 5. Needless to say, I didn't do a workout this morning :( The good news is that my headache and sore throat seem to be gone, now I'm just super tired. I already told my manager I'm leaving after my 11:00 meeting to go home to bed. I have to go to the UK on Sunday, so I need to get well before then! The other good news is that I had my annual Dr appt yesterday and she said that my labs are awesome! She said that my HDL is "amazing" (118) and my BP was 102/60. Almost everyone else in my family is on BP medicine for high BP (I am the only one who works out). So that made me happy. Have a great day!

Pam

This morning I did To The Max-No Core Premix and added on Pure Strength Biceps and Abs. I really like the step tabata in TTM! I don’t know why but I have so much fun with it. I also like the step cardio the first time through. The second time, not as much but not quite dreading it.

Cheryl Great job on XTrain Legs on Saturday and Yoga Relax on Sunday! BBQ sounds fun! Too bad it was hot out. I hate when it is too hot. I prefer high 70s or low 80s with a light breeze. Mid-80s and above can be just too hot and this is coming from someone who is always cold! Great job on your custom BOSU workout. I was thanking Cathe this weekend for keeping me in shape to be able to move the furniture at my mom’s house.

Pam I’m so sorry about your sore throat and sleepless night! I’m glad you are feeling better. Hope you get plenty of sleep to keep that from coming back. Those are fantastic lab results. Too bad the rest of your family can’t see how great working out is for health. I’m glad to hear that you curse Cathe more than me. DH was telling me they should give us Friday off since July 4th is on a Thursday. I said yep and when it is on a Wednesday we should just get the whole week off.

Have a great day!

Pam The weather is hot but not as hot as down south. We are in the mid to high 80s yesterday was the low 90s. I really like the temperature to be around 75. Oh no a scratchy throat. I am glad that you are feeling better hopefully that will be all that you get. Wow that is good lab work. I went to the kidney specialist today and he took my BP and it was 106/78. Why doesn't rub off on everyone else that working out will get you off the BP meds .

Julie Good work on TTM no core premix and PS biceps and abs. I am like you that I hate it when it gets too hot. I hate going to bed with sweat dripping off of me.

Since it is so hot out I made sure I got up and did XTrain Bis and Tris. I really did want to go back to bed but I knew I would be mad at myself later for doing that. As I told Pam I went to the kidney specialist today. He checked me over and told me that I was very healthy and the weird readings are just probably the way I am. He does however want me to get more tests done and then do a 24 hour urine test just to make certain. That will have to be when I can stay home and do it. Fun stuff .

Cheryl

This morning was Gorgeous Glutes and Pure Strength Back. I added in some assisted pull-ups too. I am hosting dinner for my family tonight. I wish I could take off work early to get my grocery shopping for tonight done and get started on the dinner prep but I have a meeting that is at the end of the day that I cannot miss. I am looking forward to sleeping in an hour tomorrow (that is all the dogs let me sleep in or it would probably be more).

Cheryl Great job on XTrain Bis/Tris! I think I saw someone had a signature line that said something about never regretting doing a workout but regretting not doing one. I try to tell myself that when I have those moments of wanting to skip out on my workout. Can’t say it always works but usually does. Those are impressive bp readings. Mine are not that low but maybe one day they will be. I don’t even want to ask what is involved in the 24 hour urine test. That does not sound fun.

Pam Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Have a great day!

Julie Great job on TTM and PS biceps and abs, wow!! That is a lot! Its weird, for me when i do that one it seems like the step cardio is harder the First time through.....not sure why! All now I pret much have a full fledged cold. I've been blowing my nose constantly all day long. errrrrr. I hope it goes away soon!
Hehehehe I like your plan of getting the whole week of if July 4th is on a Wednesday!

Cheryl oh man, I love love high 80's and low 90's, I will take those temps any day! Nope, not just a scratchy throat unfortunately, a full blown nasty cold. I'm just hoping it goes away very very quickly! Great job on XTrain bis and Tris. So glad to hear that the kidney specialist doesn't seem to be concerned with your strange readings. I know that must be a relief. Oh yes, the 24 hour urine test sounds like a blast!

Julie Great job on GG and PS back. You seem to be bak to those double workouts again, R you getting u at 2 am now?! And adding on pull ups too, great job! I am looking in to no alarm tomorrow, that is the best part about days off.

With this cold I debated not doing a workout this morning, but I decided to give it a try and at if it wAs too much. I did STS total body and it wast too bad at all. I'm not sure if I would have been able to make it through a cardio though becaus I got pretty breathes at times. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. ntensity is on the calendar and I'm not sure if I'll be up for that or not! Julie, have a great 4th and I here you do get to sleep in!

Pam

Julie Good work on Gorgeous Glutes and PS Back. I hope you enjoyed your dinner with your family and sleeping in today. I like that quote, it is so true. Enjoy your 4th of July.

Pam I wish I could enjoy those high tempertatures but I find it is just too hot for me. Sorry that you have a cold, I hope it goes away soon for you. You don't want to have to fly with a cold. Good job at getting STS Total Body done. I think weight work is easier to do when you have a cold than cardio. I hope your cold doesn't prevent you from enjoying your 4th of July.

So yesterday I did Hard Strikes without the conditioning but I added in core #1. Today I took off as it seems that I can't do more than two days in a row getting up at 4am.

I hope you are all enjoying your day off.

Cheryl
