Strength in Numbers

This morning I did my own leg workout. Along the same lines as Meso 2 legs but I did different exercises using heavy barbell weights. I am so, so happy it is Friday! Now if the work day could go fast so I can get my weekend on, that would be fantabulous!!

Janie Great job on your hour long walk!! Looks like you are ramping up your time. Well I spoke too soon for the weather. We are at a high of mid-40s today and maybe mid-50s tomorrow. I guess Spring is taking its sweet time getting here. So I have these crazy oblique DOMS and DH (not knowing I had them) thought he would be cute and grab my sides to mess with me. I about slapped him in the face it hurt so bad. He felt bad after I told him what was going on.

Pam Great job on your sub of the BM step and power circuits! I am right there with you on the running. I think about doing it occasionally and then am like “ugh, I don’t like it”. Just have never gotten the runner’s high some people get. I love the turtle and crab plates. So cute! The flip flops and bikini are cute too.

Have a great day!

Yoga Max today. Wow, a sweat fest. I really needed it.

Pam, Not disappointed what so ever in your glass pieces. I LOVE YOUR WORK and the simplicity! However I showed your work to my Joey after I PM'd you and he says the blue boat will look awesome as you come into the entrance of our beach house. It will be by the boat he put together in a kit. I think he might be right. LOL I'm so excited about anyone of them, really. They are all beautiful! Love your work.
A warm and heartfelt thank you.
Awe, your poor hubby. There will be more days to ski and have fun.
Great job on Body Max step and power circuits. I love this one too.

Julie, Great job on this morning's personal leg workout along the line of Meso 2 legs. TGIF! Enjoy your fantabulous weekend. Spring weather is so unpredictable! You poor thing with the oblique DOM's and hubby. Stretch a little a see what happens.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Rest day today. Will be leaving to go East of the Mountains to visit my siblings and father. Will be back next Sat.

Hopefully will find a computer. The sister I'm visiting does not have one. So continue with the workouts/rotations and will talk when I can.

Take care,

Janie

Julie Great job on your DIY leg workout! I hope your Friday went by fast and you had a fantastic weekend! I have never gotten that runner's high either. The only high I have ever gotten from it is knowing that I am done!

Janie Great job on Yoga Max and your seat fest. Love that! Uh oh, you are going to have to tell me which one you are calling the blue boat because there isn't a blue boat  Maybe the bikini looks like a boat in the pictures? let me know! I hope that you have a great visit with your sibs and father! If you don't find a computer we will be here when you get back!

We had a really fun weekend at the beach and it went by so fast. There were 8 of us and we got there around 4:30 on Friday afternoon. My GF who has the beach house made us crab cakes for dinner and a fantastic chocolate souffle for dessert for my birthday! On Saturday we went for a 3 1/2 mile walk, did some shopping, made cake pops and homemade pasta and just had a lot of great laughs. On Sunday we went for a shorter walk probably 2-2.5 miles and then had a fantastic brunch. We stopped and picked up some fresh seafood to take home so we had blackened grouper and shrimp for dinner last night. The DH was in Myrtle Beach playing golf with the boys for the weekend and he had a lot of fun too. This morning I started Cathe's April rotation with Intensity. That was a good one after a weekend of eating and drinking too much! I hope that everyone had a great weekend!

Pam

Getting ready to leave now. Will talk when I can, but most likely not since I will not have access to a computer. Hugs, gonna miss you all.

Pam,

Here is a photo of your photo. Really anything will do as long as it's from you.

Saw your photos on FB and I have to tell you it looks like all had fun. And you can see the love from everyone to everyone. Cool!

Take care ladies, see you next week.

Janie Thanks for posting the picture. I think the colors didn't photograph well because the boat in that one is actually brown which is why I was confused. I hope you have a great week. And yes, I am very lucky to have some very fabulous friends! They are a great group of ladies.

This morning was Xtrain disc 3 burn sets Chest, Back and shoulders. I'm glad this was on the schedule because I really didn't feel like getting up and working out but this one goes by so fast. I was so sad last night about the bombs in Boston, I just can not understand what must be in the minds of those people. The poor folks who have been working toward that goal and looking forward to that event only to have that happen is just heartbreaking. I hope they find whoever did it and they get the punishment they deserve! OK, rant is over now. Have a great day ladies.

Pam

I had the best day Saturday. DH and I stayed home and did our regular cleaning and then cleaned out all the kitchen cabinets. Yep, it is sad that I consider that a “best” day. Sunday was STS M2D16, Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps. I was struggling with the weights and I am not sure if my cleaning adventure wore me out. Monday morning was STS M2D17 Legs and then a day full of meetings so I couldn’t post. This morning I did Ride with my sore legs and bum.

Janie Great job on Yoga Max! I hope you enjoyed your rest day! Travel safe and enjoy your visit with your family.

Pam Great job on Intensity! Your weekend sounded like a lot of fun with fabulous food. It looks like you also got some light workouts in there with your walking and great laughs. If I remember correctly, there was an article in one of my magazines talking about how laughter burns quite a bit more calories than we think. Great job on BS CBS! I couldn’t believe it either about the BM. I don’t understand where people get their warped view of the world.

Have a great day!

Julie Oh my, i can't imagine describing a day spent cleaning as the best day, but I understand that feeling of accomplishment in getting all of that work done! Great job on STS M2D16, I bet it was your day of cleaning that got you. Great job on STS M2D17 and Ride with your sore legs and glutes. Are they still talking to you today?? Oh, I love that articdle about laughter burning calories! I might have to look that one up!

This morning I was sooooo unmotivated for my workout but I made myself do it and of course I was happy that I did. I did Hard Strikes and Weights and Plates abs. This is the first time I did Hard Strikes all the way through and I really enjoyed it. Those are some fun little drills at the end and this is one that you can do most of while traveling too. A few of the drills needs dumbbells, but only the overhead presses, biceps and side planks. The su/pu combo really really got me this time, and she doesn't even do as many rounds. I was very happy about that. I went a little slower than they did but made it through. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Pam

This morning I could not get up. Even though DH got up when the alarm went off, all I could do was just pull the covers over my head when he asked if I was getting up. I have a feeling I am going to regret not getting up to do something but maybe I can go for a walk over lunch to make up for it.

Pam Great job on Hard Strikes + Weights & Plates! You did so much better than me. Today was my yoga/stretching day and I just could not get out of bed. I like HS. It is a pretty good all-around workout and it amazes me how the pu/su combo is just as hard as it is in Supercuts with being 2 rounds less. Yeah, I’m a little nuts with saying that cleaning my cabinets was the best day ever but it was more because of getting it done rather than actually doing it!

Have a great day!

Julie Looks like it's just you and me for a little while. I understand the not being able to get up. The only reason I forced myself yesterday was because I had missed a day last weekend and will again this weekend and several next week. We are going to Hilton Head for the weekend and then next week I am tagging along on DHs trip to California so not sure how many workouts I'll get in. Sometimes we just need those sleep in days though. I really didn't like HS much when I first did it, but it's growing on me.

This morning was XTrain cardio leg blast. I like that one a lot too. It has no dread factor at all and goes by fast. Hope you have a great day, I can't believe it's already Thursday!

Pam

Oh boy! My day has been jam packed and I almost forgot to post. Anyway, this morning I did STS D18 Back & Biceps. We are getting so, so much rain here. I know I shouldn't complain but we are having floods which is really unusual when you live no where near a river. DH stayed home today to make sure our sump pump continues to pump out the water so we don't get flooded in the house. They actually had to close several of the schools because the roads were not passable.

Pam Great job on CLB! That one does go by fast and while it is very similar to plyo legs, no half turn jumps!! Your upcoming trips sound like fun. I hope the weather is beautiful for you. What part of California are you headed to? Oh, I am so happy it is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday.

Have a great day!

It is so good to be home! The one sister I was staying with is showing more signs of Alzheimer. She did pretty good while I was there, but I'm the one that is not use to it. She lost her cell phone and I convinced her to get a land line phone. At least I hope. The phone stays there and will be in the same place whenever she needs to use it. In the mean time she used mine for her connections. It also meant that I am being charged roaming charges. Yuck. Also where ever we went I drove. She has just moved too, and so she gets lost sometimes or forgets which way to go.
I must say, when I was driving home I cried almost all the way (5 and half hrs.) because of my poor sissy's illness and what she has to go through. I wouldn't want to wish that illness on anyone.

Pam, Great job on Xtrain disc 3 burn sets chest, back and shoulders. I was horrified too about the bombs in Boston and so glad now that they were caught.

Julie, Sounds your cleanmax on Sat. was a lot of fun. Great job on Sunday's M2D16, chest, shoulders and triceps. Also for Monday's M2D17 legs. And for this day's ride with your poor sore legs and bum. Ouch, I can feel it way over here. LOL

Pam, Very happy for you by doing HS (all the way through for the first time, YEA!) and Weights and Plates abs even though you were very unmotivated to do it. Good for you!

Julie, I know fully not wanting to get up from a very cozy bed. Glad you listened to your body and rested.

Pam, Great job on Thursday's XTrain cardio leg blast.

Julie, A very busy day it seems. Great job on STS D18 back and biceps. The rain must be overwhelming to have floods with no river nearby. Hopefully the rains will subside quickly.

Take care ladies, I'll post later tonight on what workout I did.

Janie

Hi everyone,

It has been a busy couple of weeks. I am working longer hours at work so it makes it really hard to post when I get home. It seems like I don't have an evening at all but that one day off every two weeks will be worth it (I hope). I see that I haven't been the only one MIA, what happened to Penguin? As I missed so much I am not going to reply to everyone's posts, that is a bit overwhelming. I have been working out but not a consistently as I would like :(. Today I did Hiit DWP and Butts and Guts, leg portion only. I will do yoga tomorrow.

I will post when I can, hopefully I can get into a routine and post more often, unfortunately I can't do it at work.

Cheryl

Julie First of all HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope that you have a great day! Great job on STS D18 Back & Biceps on Thursday. I saw the flooding on the news, crazy crazy weather we are having right now! I hope things are ok with your house and the sump pump was able to keep up. The weather was crazy in Hilton Head this weekend. In the 60's which is unheard of this time of year and then yesterday the winds were so strong with gusts up to 30 mph. It made the golf quite challenging. We are going to be in San Jose California and then spend the weekend in Big Sur. We are hoping to get some good hiking in.

Janie Welcome home! So sad about your sister, that must be so difficult! I think your idea of the land line was a very good one! Does she have a GPS that she can use when when she is driving? That would be very scary worrying about getting lost.

Cheryl Good to hear from you, I was thinking your new job must be keeping you quite busy. I'm not sure what happened to Penguin, she disappeared :confused: I just hope everything is ok with her. Good job on Hiit DWP and Butts and Guts legs. Also on your yoga which I'm sure you did. Hopefully you will be able to get used to a new routine soon.

Friday I did XTrain Bis and Tris burn sets, core number 1 and then I added on Tabatacise 1-3. That was such an awesome workout, I feel so good when I finished. I was only going to do Tabatacise 1-2 but decided to throw number 3 in there when I was done. It is the one that is a little easier than the others, so that worked out well. I didn't do any workouts over the weekend, other than walking the golf course to watch the tournament. It was fun seeing those pro golfers up so close. This morning was supposed to be Drill Max, but I got up too late for a 72 minute workout, so I did To the Max instead. I think I will be starting the April rotation over when I am back next Monday from California since it's going to be blown this week. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I forgot to post on Friday but I did get plyo legs, disc 29 in. Saturday was a rest day but DH and I bought a new mattress. Our old was 13 years old so not in terrible need for replacing but we upgraded to a King size. It was delivered yesterday, after I did STS disc 28, chest and back! There is so much more room in the bed now. I kept waking up because I am used to being uncomfortable. I think it will take a while before I get used to being able to stretch out. This morning I did Circuit Blast and tacked on Rear Delts from X Train.

Janie I’m sorry for your sister’s condition. I can’t imagine what it is like seeing a loved one going through that. I hope she has someone near her that can help look out for her. Maybe another family member or a close friend or neighbor.

Cheryl I figured you were keeping busy with work and working out. I’m sure you will get your schedule figured out and get more consistent with working out. But, if not, every little bit you do helps. I bet you will love having a 3 day weekend every other weekend. I am not sure what happened to Penguin. Hopefully she comes back. Great job on DWP and B&G legs! That is quite a combo. I hope you were able to stand the next day.

Pam Great job on your workout fest from Friday with XT BS Bis/Tris + core 1 PLUS Tabatacise 1-3! That is quite impressive lineup. Glad to see you had a great weekend. Great job on subbing TTM for DM! TTM may be shorter but I think the intensity is higher than DM. Thanks for the birthday wishes. So far so good with no flooding for us. The sump pump thankfully has kept up. It is crazy that last year we had a drought and this year we have more water than we can handle. Enjoy your trip to CA. I bet the weather will be beautiful and the hiking will be a great workout.

Have a great day!

Julie Wow, great job on plyo legs, disc 29, disc 28, Circuit blast and rear delts! Congratulations on the new mattress. Do you think that Maggie will find a way to fill up the whole bed before too long? :D;) It's funny that you are waking up because you AREN'T uncomfortable! You are right that TTM is higher intensity than DM. I looked at the calorie counts in workout manager and they are almost the same. I think that DM was a little higher, but not by much. Hopefully the rain has stopped, or at least slowed way down for you.

This morning I did Crossfire+core to keep to my theme from yesterday with TTM. I still am undecided about which of these workouts is harder. I'm always exhausted by the end of the firewalker tabata in CF but I'm also always exhausted by the end of the first round of step in TTM. I really love them both though, I think Cathe really outdid herself with those 2 workouts. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Pam

Thank you for your prayers everyone for my dear sister (Melody) So sorry for not posting yesterday. Cleaning bug hit me and spent hours on the kitchen. Before I knew it, it was past midnight! Still not done yet but it will be today. My donation pile is getting very big, but it's lifted a lot of weight off my shoulders believe it or not. Didn't realize how much junk I had in there. LOL:D Next is the pantry. I did Yoga Relax during the afternoon yestersay and still need to workout today. It was soooooooo hard because I didn't want to!

Julie, Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Julie, Happy Birthday to you. And many more. Did you have a wonderful one?

Cheryl, Missed you sooooooooo much, but understand the reality of life. Glad to hear from you every so often. Me too about working inconsistently, but will someday very soon get back on track. Great job on HiiT DWP and B&G, leg portion. Love hearing from you, so please keep that up when you can.

Pam, Melody misplaced her GPS while moving. I think once she drives a little more she will know her way around. She doesn't seem to have that many years left to drive. So far so good though. Thank God.
Great job on XTrain Bis and tris burn sets, core #1 and adding Tabatacise 1-3. It looks like an awesome workout. I've never seen a golfing match before. Well, at least in person. How interesting. Great job on today's TTM. Be safe out there.

Julie, Great job on Friday's Plyo legs, disc 29, Sat. rest day. Congrats on the new mattress and a King size to boot. Also great job on STS disc 28 chest and back. And this mornings CB with tacked on Rear Delts from XTrain. My other sisters and brother (Rosemary, Joy and Gary and sometimes her daughter Mary) are watching over my dear sweet Melody. And even her new neighbors took a liking to her and watching over her. Sleep well, you deserve it.

Pam, Great job on this mornings Crossfire+core. I have to agree, that Cathe did a marvelous job on TTM and Firewalker Tabata in CF.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Ugh! I was so busy yesterday and didn’t get a chance to post. I did do squat rack legs disc 37 on Tuesday. This morning I did Yoga Relax. Another busy day today.

Pam Great job on CF + core! I think CF & TTM are definitely Cathe’s most intense and versatile workouts. So many ways to do them and definitely heart pumpers through and through. I am not really worried Maggie will take up most of the new found mattress space. More that Ozzie will. He is smaller than Maggie but tends to sleep with his legs straight out instead of curled in a ball. No rain yesterday but we are getting some today. I heard CNN had news coverage of the Illinois River overflowing from one of the towns I grew up by.

Janie Thanks for the birthday wishes! Great job on your cleanmax! DH and I area going through our rooms, or at least trying to, to get some Spring cleaning done. We are trying to do 1 room a weekend. Great job on doing Yoga Relax even though you didn’t want to. I think sometimes we have to push ourselves when we don’t want to do something and other times it is ok to listen to our bodies and not do a workout. Sounds like your sister has a lot of people who love and care for her. That is very nice.

Have a great day!

Today was an hour long intermittent walk with Rolly. We drive to a trail across the street from a school.

Pam, Great job on Tuesday's squat rack legs disc 37 and this morning's Yoga Relax. Don't you just love that one? One room a weekend is doable. I've been working everyday on two rooms it seems forever. It's tiring. I think I'll go your route. LOL

Take care,

Janie
