Strength in Numbers

This morning was meso 3 disc 30, shoulders, biceps, and triceps. Our weather is still not quite right for Spring here. We were in the low 70s Monday, then 50s Tuesday and Wednesday, 60s today and back to the 50s tomorrow. I just want it to get to the 70s and stay there. I need to find a location that does that year round. That is my happy temp.

Janie Great job on your intermittent walk with Rolly. Well my plan is one room a weekend but who knows if that will happen. I tend to be overly optimistic at how much I can reasonably get done in one day. Plus life tends to get in the way a bit. Good luck with your cleaning.

Rest day today.

Julie, Great job on this mornings Meso 3 disc 30, shoulders, biceps and triceps. I'll take low 70's any time. But, with lows of 50's, that's insane. We are having low temps at night of 29 degrees and in the 60's during the day. It's starting to get better as we move more into Spring weather. I forget where, but somewhere in CA there is a place for perfect weather in the 70's almost the whole year long.

Tomorrow I'm attempting to clean out my bedroom overstuffed small closet. I think I'm going to be surprised on how much stuff I don't need in there. Just from the kitchen, the pantry and the dining room I've made two donated stuffed car trips to a 2nd hand store. Why did I keep all that stuff? Jeesh. LOL

This morning was sts dis 6 legs. I love the meso 1 legs. Today I am taking a half day off from work. I have so much I need to do this weekend that I think I need the extra time. I have all my normal errands and cleaning plus I want to try to deep clean one room this weekend. Saturday afternoon will probably be dedicated to going house hunting with my parents. They are moving to a town that will be closer to my sister and me. I think they have 4 or 5 houses they want to look at.

Janie Hope you had a wonderful rest day. Oh I might have to look up that town. DH and I already know we want to retire some place that stays a decent temp year round. Of course, we are very far away from retirement and who knows if the weather patterns will shift in the next 30 years. Good luck on the closet. It is amazing how much stuff we accumulate and then don’t use. Just think if we never bought it in the first place, how much we could have saved.

Back again. I really need to get into a routine so I can post during the week. I had a bad week for working out. I just couldn't get my butt out of bed so I missed everyday except for today. I managed to get a short workout in before I had to get all the housework and laundry done. Last night I went out for dinner with my old team. It was fun, the restaurant is very popular here so it was really crowded and people were waiting in line for a long time to get a table. My cousin is getting married tomorrow and we have to be at the Sikh Temple by 10am so I don't know if I will have time to get a workout in before we have to leave. It should be fun I have never been to a Sikh wedding before. I am looking forward to the East Indian food that will be for lunch yummmm.

Did Ride last night. All I can say is Yowza! I modified too and only went for 35 min.

Julie, Great job on STS disc 6 legs. I'm deep cleaning and getting rid of stuff too as you know. Lots of work, but so so nice afterwards. Will be doing my closet and bathroom today. I've said that now for two days. LOL:D Oh how wonderful to have your parents a little closer to you. I'm so far away from everyone in my family.:( You have a great weekend too and remember, if you can, to do something a little fun as well.

Cheryl, So nice to have you back! I'm struggling a bit with my workouts as well. I need to spend more time and add more weight lifting. Life sometimes throws things at us and our motivation is a little under the weather. Great job on today's workout. And cleanmax does count, in my eyes anyway. LOL:D How exciting to attend a Sikh wedding with all the beautiful colors, turbans, dress...Love the healthy East Indian food! Enjoy.

Janie Good work on Ride. I have been missing the posting and talking to all of you every day. Sometimes the motivation does leave us and things don't go as planned. Hopefully I will get back on track with working the extra hour and can find time to post more regular. The wedding was really nice. My cousin's wife was beautiful in her red wedding dress. I was very thankful that I did yoga so I could sit cross legged on the floor for over an hour for the wedding :D.

So today I did manage to get up early and do Hard Strikes before we had to leave just after 9am to go to my cousins's wedding. I couldn't understand what they were saying as it was all in Punjabi but it was a beautiful ceremony all the same. The food they served at breakfast and lunch was really good. Tomorrow is the reception with more eating and dancing.....gosh darn :D.

Just finished 30/30. Really like that one.:rolleyes: Haven't weighed myself for awhile and gained weight! Yuck! I better pay more attention to what I eat.

Cheryl, Missing you as well. Do you have pics of the wedding. Would love to see if it's not too much trouble. Well done with the yoga for you to sit cross legged for an hour. Yes! By the way, Great job on HS. Enjoy the continuation of the wedding with eating and dancing.

Saturday was my rest day but I was able to get a lot of cleaning done. I got my pantry and storage benches cleaned out!!! Then I went house shopping with my mom. We went to 3 different houses and really liked 1 of them. Sunday I did Gym Style Legs (owza!) and then was lazy the rest of the day. This morning I did Gym Style Chest & Triceps. I had to take extra breaks during the pushups but I got them done.

Cheryl Thank you for the birthday wish. I did have a good birthday with eating too much not-so-good-for-me food. Great job on HS! I’ve never been to a Sikh wedding either. I bet it would be neat to go to one. I love learning about other cultures and eating new foods. Oh boy though, an hour of sitting cross legged. I am a fidgeter so I think I would have problems with that. Hope you had a wonderful time at the reception.

Janie Great job on Ride! That is a nice sweaty one! I have been loving getting rid of stuff too. Some of my stuff isn’t worth giving to Goodwill so it is going in the trash. I am not sure that my garbage man has been loving my cleaning spree though. Great job on 30/30! Sorry about the weight gain. I’m sure you will get back in the groove of things again.

Janie I think it is San Diego that you are thinking of with the perfect weather year round. I remember going to see a comedian one time who was talking about the weather man in San Diego having the easiest job in the world. Todays forecast: beautiful, tomorrow: beautiful......It might get kind've boring though. Oh boy, you and Julie are making me feel like I should be doing some spring cleaning!!! Did you get your closet cleaned out?

cheryl sorry to hear you are having a hard time into into a routine with working out and the new job. I know when you change jobs it requires a lot of focus and is really tiring. Maybe once you are more settled in your new job you'll be able to get back into the swing with the workouts. I have never been to a Sikh wedding, that sounds like a lot of fun!

Cheryl Wow, I don't think I could sit cross legged for anywhere near an hour! It sounds so cool though. Great job on getting HS in before leaving for the wedding too! Wow, breakfast and lunch were both served at the wedding and a reception the next day too?! That is quite the event, how fun!

Janie Great job on 30/30! Sorry you gained weight, but I know you can take it back off again. It is a constant battle though, isn't it?! :confused:

Julie Great job with clean max on Saturday, GS legs Sunday and GS Chest and tris today. Wow! Is your parents current house on the market? I hope that they are able to sell it quickly.

I got home last night late from California and am pooped today. On Wednesday I did a 35 minute tabata workout from You Tube. It was interesting to try another tabata workout but was nowhere near as enjoyable as Cathes. The way this one worked was you repeated the same exercise 8 times for a round. That got pretty boring. I did get a good sweat in though. On Thursday I did Cathes Tabatacise and Core 2. That was much more fun and I was dripping after that. Thursday afternoon we drove to Big Sur. Such a beautiful drive, the coastline is just spectacular. Friday and Saturdays workouts consisted of hikes. We hiked about 6-7 miles each day and my calves are still feeling it. On one of our hikes down to the ocean we saw 2 whales playing in the surf. That was really cool, I have never seen whales before. Yesterday was a looooong day of traveling. The Big Sur marathon was yesterday and they were closing US 1 between Carmel and Big Sur, so we had to get out of there before that happened. We left Big Sur at 5:30 am to go to the San Jose airport and I got home after 11:00 last night. Then I couldn't sleep because I was still on Pacific time so it was after 2:00 before I got to sleep. As I result, no workout for me this morning. Hopefully tonight will be better. DH had to go on to Vegas but he will be home on Wednesday. I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Janie Good job on 30/30. I need to pay more attention to what I eat too. I gained 3 pounds this week with all of the eating I have been doing :eek:. I took some pictures at the wedding with my phone but they didn't turn out too good. I will see if I can get them on the computer and try posting some of them.

Julie Good work on clean max on Saturday. So who is buying a new house you or your Mom? Good job on GS Legs and chest and triceps. The push ups are a killer in that workout.

Pam Doing yoga really helped me in sitting cross legged for that long. It was quite the event so much food now I have some weight to lose :eek:. Cathe's workouts are always superior to other workouts. I think I would have gotten bored as well repeating the tabatas so many times. Good job on your hikes, wow 6-7 miles is a good workout. Whales are cool aren't they. You did have a long day of traveling yesterday. It is so hard when you have that dang time change. Don't worry I know you will be back on track tomorrow.

Yesterday morning I went to yoga. After that I didn't do too much, had a nap in the afternoon so I would be ready to go for the reception. It didn't start until 6:30 and we didn't eat until 9:30 but they had lots of appys. Then the dancing started and everyone gets on the dance floor no partner required. It was a lot of fun, they really know how to party that is for sure. We didn't get home until midnight and I am so glad that I took a vacation day today. I didn't get much sleep as these darn four legged fur babies that we have insisted on getting fed at their normal time :rolleyes: Anyway I stayed up and managed to do a cardio BOSU workout. I need to burn calories as I wasn't too well behaved this weekend eating wise that is :D.

Julie, Sounds like you had a lot of cleanmax and house hunting in the works. Good for you. Great job on GSL, yep that one is challenging. And for today's GY Chest and Triceps. Glad to see you listening to your body.

Pam, So glad you are home safe. Great job on Wends. for the 35 min. tabata workout from You Tube. There really isn't anything out there comparable to our Cathe. For Thurs. for doing Cathes Tabatacise and Core 2. I love hikes no matter how you look at them they are always the best. You put in the miles girl! Yes! So lucky to see the whales. Wow! You need to catch up on your sleep before you can exercise. Really.

Cheryl, Great job on yesterday's yoga. Oh my, you must have been starving by the time you ate! Bet you had a blast with all the celebrations. Great job on Cardio BOSU. Cant' believe you did that so late. Good for you!

Cheryl Well not quite back on track with the time but getting there. Of course, I had just gotten adjusted to Pacific time when it was time to leave :rolleyes: Great job on your yoga. It was probably a good idea that you had that nap to get ready for the reception, it sounds like it was a lot of fun! Oh yes, the darn fur babies can be real pests can't they?! Shorty was crawling all over me wanting attention in the middle of the night last night. Of course he was all stretched out asleep on my bed when I left for work today. Great job on the BOSU workout too!

Janie Love your new picture and I'm so happy to see that you are drawing again! What a nice comment from your niece on facebook about what an inspiration you are for her artwork too!!! :D Hope those DOMS are better today! Yes, our hikes were a lot of fun. We were the only ones on one of the paths and at the very top of the mountain they had a little bench where we sat and ate our lunch. It was great!
BTW, there is a little something in the kiln today with your name on it :D

This morning I did Afterburn and the core only pre-mix from the original bootcamp. I decided that the rotation I was doing is already shot and we are leaving again on Wednesday to go to Savannah, so I may just do what I feel like doing until after that. Not sure if I told you I had a follow up appt with the physical therapist last week. She was surprised and impressed with how much difference the exercises have made so far, so I was happy about that. I see the Dr this Friday, so hopefully he is just as happy. This morning I so did not want to get out of bed. I gave blood last night so I am going to blame that on my feeling tired today. I did get up though and did MMA Kickbox. Now I am ready for a nap!

Pam Great job on your workouts: YouTube Tabata, Tabatacise + Core 2, all that hiking! I hope your calves are feeling better. I usually love DOMS but calf DOMS are the one kind I can do without. Ozzie is finding new ways to take up space in the king sized bed. I am starting to think we should have kept the old mattress and put it up in the spare room so the dogs could have their own bed. They would probably come in with us anyway though. My parents are trying to sell the house to my brother but it is contingent on him getting financing. I am actually hoping they can move into the new house before they need to get out of the old house. It will make moving them so much easier. After 30+ years in the same house they have hoarded quite a collection of things I think they can pitch. Great job on AB + BC Core only! Awesome news on the hamstring issues. Hopefully you have been noticing a difference too.

Cheryl Great job on yoga! That sounds like a fun reception. Of course, it is a little on the late side for me. I would definitely have to take a vacation day the next day. Great job on Cardio BOSU. Don’t you wish the fur babies would understand what sleeping in is? Mine are not used to getting fed until around 5:30 am but since DH and I get up around 3:30 during the week, on the weekends, the dogs are kind enough to start whining at us to get out of their bed at 3:30 as if they are our back up alarm. My mom is buying a new house. They live in a split level home right now and with her hip replacement surgery and knee arthritis issues she wants to be in a ranch home. Plus she wants to be closer to me and my sister as both her and my dad are getting older.

Janie Love the picture of Lisa! Is that green in her eyes. I love when you add that little touch of color. It really makes the picture draw you in. Good for you for listening to your body and resting with the DOMS. Is it getting close to you moving into the Beach House for the summer? I couldn’t remember if you said end of April or May.

We're at the beach house! Yes! Rolly and I took a quick 20 min. walk to peak at the beach to see it was still there. Yep, it's still there! Was cold and windy and wasn't dressed for it, but tomorrow is another day. Will unpack the few stuff I brought over and will just fool around the rest of the day. Guess what? I forgot Cathe. Yep. Can't believe I did that. Now I have to rely on memory and some rules and should be OK. I only have the Wedding Video here, lots of weight, a climber and the beach. Will be going back for one day in a couple of weeks, will gather it up then. Darn!

Pam, Thankyou for the compliment on my portrait. I'm happy to see I'm drawing again too. You never know when the Art Block comes along. I love when my family think of me when they do art work. I also have a nephew that I encourage as well. They are spectacular artists. The DOM's came and went very quickly. I must have really worked hard cleaning and on 30/30. LOL Great job on this morning's Afterburn and the core premix from the orig. Bootcamp. What a nice way to have lunch than on a bench in the middle of scenery. I agree, do what you feel like doing in the way of exercises. You are doing great. Wow, good going with the impressed physical therapist. I'm so happy for you. What an accomplishment! Yea! Pam It takes a while before you get back into your own timezone. Taylis likes to get my attention in the middle of the night too. He wants to crawl in under the covers with me. Of course they are sleeping when you need to go to work. Sometimes don't you just want to start annoying them when they are trying to sleep. Good job on Afterburn and the core premix from Bootcamp. I am glad to hear that your PT was happy with your progress. Hopefully your Dr. will be too.

Julie Good for you in getting out of bed and doing MMA Kickbox even though you didn't want to. The reception was on the late side for me too that is why I had to take the Monday off or I would have been useless at work. Isn't that nice that you have your own back up alarms :rolleyes:. They are so hard to get mad at though aren't they. I can see why your mom would want to be in a rancher with the hip surgery and arthritis. It is nice to have them closer when they get older too.

Janie What a bummer that you forgot your Cathe workouts. At least you have some of the equipment so you can at least do something.

Well today I made sure a posted before I started doing other things on the computer and ran out of time. Right now it is almost bedtime and I just sat down at the computer :(. This morning I did Supercuts. I think I am going to try to do my own rotation that will fit into the time that I have in the mornings.

Julie Great job getting up and doing MMA Kickbox when your body was fighting you! I have really been struggling with getting out of bed this week! My calves are a lot better, thanks. Calf DOMS are definitely not one of my favorites either, but they seem to go away faster than others for me too. I love the idea of having the old bed for a doggie bed, but I think you're right, it's not about the bed, they want to be with you. Oh, that would be great if everything works out for your brother to buy your parents house and then just have 1 move for them. I know what you mean about the collection of stuff. When my mother sold her cottage it was like that - they had had it for 50 years. It wasn't as bad since it was just the cottage, but there was still a LOT of stuff.

Janie Great job on your walk to the peak with Rolly. Cold and windy is no fun though, hopefully it will warm up for you soon. Oh no, I can't believe you forgot to bring Cathe. I'm sure you will do fine with your memory and your knowledge until you can go back and get her though ;) I'm happy to hear that your DOMS went away quickly. I will have something ready to send to you in the next couple of days, depending on when I can get to the post office. If you would like me to send it to the beach house, PM me the address. I think I still have your home address.

Cheryl Yep. I am still working on getting back into eastern time. It's really been tough getting up and at night I go to bed and am not tired :confused: I'm sure I'll be adjusted by the weekend tho. I don't think my cats really care when they are sleeping because they just go right back to sleep. Of course if it's to work on knots, then they aren't very happy with me at all! Great job on Supercuts, that is a fun one. I think you are smart to do your own rotation to make it work for your schedule.

This morning I really didn't want to get out of bed and really didn't want to work out. I haven't done any upper body work in awhile so I did XTrain disc 2 Bis and Tris and Core 1. That was a good one to do because it goes by so fast. I had no energy for cardio this morning at all. I hope everyone has a great day, happy Wednesday!

This morning was Gym Styles Back Shoulders and Biceps. I have a dentist appointment this afternoon. One of my teeth cracked so I have to go in and get the tooth ready for a crown. Oh joy!

Janie So happy for you that you are at the Beach House for the summer! Great job on your 20 min. walk with Rolly! That’s too funny that you had to make sure the beach was still there. :p I guess if it wasn’t, you wouldn’t be able to call it the Beach House anymore. What a bummer you forgot your Cathe videos but as you said you have enough to get along until you go back to get them.

Cheryl Great job on Supercuts! Love that one. That sounds like a great idea to do your own rotation so it works for you. I like making my own rotations up also. I sometimes start with a Cathe rotation just to get inspiration but then it is heavily modified for me. Oh yes, the furbabies are hard to get mad at. All they have to do is look at you with their cute little faces and you forget what you were mad about. :)

Pam I’m sorry you were having motivation issues this morning. Do you think it was from still adjusting to the time difference? Good job for getting Bis/Tris + Core 1 done. That is short and does go by fast plus it is not super taxing like intense cardio or leg or chest/back work. My parents definitely have some hoarder tendencies that I didn’t inherit. I was helping my mom go through some things once. We found two ice crushers that had to have been from the 70s. I told her to throw them out or give them to Goodwill but she was worried she might need them some time. I asked her when the last time she had crushed ice was and that convinced her to get rid of 1 of them. :rolleyes:

This afternoon was an hour of intermittent fast walk to walk on the beach with Rolly. Joey went on The adult tricycle for awhile around the streets. I love that tricycle. Will play around with it tomorrow. Suppose to have beautiful weather all week and beyond. Yes!

Cheryl, Thank you for the comment on the portrait. I'm almost done with another neice (did I say I have a huge family) and should be done with it tomorrow or the next day. So glad you posted, seems like old times. I love that. Great job on this morning Supercuts. You can do a lot of wonderful things with a made up rotation. Hey, you know how.

Pam, I'm soooo excited about my little present! Go ahead and send it to the Shelton address. I'll pm you the address just in case. Will be going there shortly anyway and hope to intercede it. If I don't, they will keep it in the pump house while we are gone. It will be nice and safe. I'm proud of you getting out of bed and doing XTrain disc 2 bis and tris and core 1. Also listening to your body is important.

Pam It takes a while to get back on the right time zone again. I am sure that you will be back to normal by the weekend. Mine aren't happy with me either when I try to work on the knots. You find out how sharp their teeth and claws are. Good for you in still getting up even though you wanted to stay in bed.

Julie Good job on GS Back Shoulders and Biceps. That sucks that you need to get a crown. I will probably get some ideas from Cathe's new rotation. I had been thinking that I hadn't done the gym styles for a while and that is in her new rotation.
