Strength in Numbers

This morning I decided to hammer my legs and glutes. I did my own version of TBT Lower Body Extreme. I repeated each triset 3 times instead of just twice. Then I tacked on the 100 hip thrusts. I should have some nice soreness tomorrow. Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if I will be able to walk.

Penguin I hope Aprils lab work comes back ok. I hate when my babies are having problems. Ozzie has another bump on him and we will be getting that checked out on Saturday. He already had one removed in the fall that was cancerous. Poor baby. April sounds like she enjoys being outside even if it is wet and muddy. What a true dog. Mine are true babies. Don’t want to get wet or dirty-heaven forbid!

Pam Great job on AOLIH extreme! We weren’t quite on the same schedule but we both went extreme today! I really liked doing close grip bench press for the tricep pushups. I couldn't feel my triceps working that hard with pushup but I have some sweet soreness today after making my subs. What helped me get the hang of the tubing was not using the tubing. I used my green band instead of the blue tubing. I think my band had more give to it and I could hold my hand in a more comfortable position. That is my thought too with the DVD switching. I am so impatient waiting for it to load and then go through the medical and FBI disclaimers. I really need to work on using the workout blender because that would help me get things smoothly. Or if I just plugged my iPad into the TV and used that I think I could go from one workout to another and choose the exact chapter I want. Again laziness with bringing the iPad into the workout room. 90 days with the same basic DVDs/premixes is hard. STS was 90 days but at least each STS workout was a little different until you got to Meso 3 upper body.

Have a great day!

Sorrrrrrry everyone, been on a two day eating spree.:mad::eek: Feeling sorry for myself. Without going into a boring story, I feel neglected by my daughter. She won't return my phone calls (usually she's to busy) and she has a copy of herself and Cody (grandson) of the artwork I've done, and not hearing anything. Very frustrating. I'ts not her fault for me eating that way, should have picked up a barbell instead of junk food. Not a good choice!
Went shopping yesterday for healthy food, but also bought some junk food. The junk food is almost gone. Good news the healthy food is waiting for me. Decided today and the rest of this month will be doing cardio and going back to a much healthier eating habit, need to lose that 8 pounds I've gained since Vegas. When Cathe has her rotation posted, will be doing that one. Hopefully she will have time even though the Road Trip is on. If not will be searching for an older rotation. Will post workout later tonight.

Phone rang while I was typing this and it was my daughter saying how she loved her's and Cody's portrait. How about that? I even had a feeling before I answered it that it was her. Erie! We are OK now.

Julie, Great job on Burn Set Bis and Tris and Rear Delts. Love the modifications. Congratulations for increasing weight by 1 pound. Wishing you nice DOM's tomorrow.

Pinquin, Sounds like April had a good park day. I know what you mean about about figuring out a new schedule. It seems like the chores and errands are always endless, doesn't it?

Pam, Nice that you worry about. Great job on AOLIH extreme cardio premix. Being a sweaty and beet red, (like you and I get) means you did a fantastic job. Good for you!

Julie, Great job on and doing your own version of TBT Lower Body Extreme. Wow 3 times, ouch and tacked on 100 hip thrusts. I do believe you will be sore tomorrow. Good for you! Let us know how you are walking then.

Update: Tonight was STS HiiT 30/30. This is one of my most favorites of all!

Apologies from the last post to all of you. This is what happens when you mess up your eating habits. Emotionally and physically not well. Sorry guys. It's over now and I'm feeling great. I ate perfect today and all that poor poor me stuff is gone now. Geesh, that was awful! I really do have a great daughter, we are different in many ways, but we are good.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Great job on your extreme leg and glute workout! Are you able to walk today? I'm thinking you might be looking like a Penguin! (Sorry Penguin.... :D) I'm glad to hear that you have some nice DOMs in your triceps. I am always happy when I get tricep DOMS because that doesn't happen very often! I think I will try your subs the next time I do that workout. I have doing the tricep pushups on my knees and even though they are really hard, they just don't seem to be working my triceps! I'll try my band next time too for the second set. The good thing with switching DVDs for me is that I can skip past the disclaimers and go right to the root menu. But I'm still impatient about waiting for the DVD to load. I'm lazy about the workout blender too - I tried it that one time and messed up my mix and haven't been enthusiastic about doing it again. I don't like doing the workouts off the ipad or computer either and I don't think I can hook it to the TV I have in my workout room. Of course, I haven't looked into that because I'm too lazy!!! :p

Janie Welcome back, so nice to see your smiling face again! So sorry to hear about your disappointment :(, but I was really happy when you said your daughter called while you were writing. She must've felt you thinking about her! Don't worry about your little slip up, it happens to all of us. Just get back on track and you will be fine! I'm trying to be strong because the 5 boxes of girl scout cookies I ordered came the other day. I'm good as long as the box isn't opened. Then yesterday I came home and saw that Carl had opened one of the boxes of thin mints. They are my favorite, but so far I have resisted them. Must be strong!!! If Cathe posts a good rotation for Feb I may switch to that one. Great job on HiiT 30/30, I love that one too! Don't worry about venting, we are here for you! I'm so glad that you are feeling great and ate well, good job!

This morning was hardstrikes pre-mix 16. It's the only pre-mix of HS I have done so far so not sure what I'm not doing, although it says no conditioning. It is only 34 minutes long, so I added Tabatacise 3-4 and then core number 2 so felt like I got a good workout overall (even though I had to make 3 dvd changes ;)) Hubby comes home today!! :D have a great day everyone!

Pam

This morning I woke up with some nice soreness. Enough to know I worked my legs and booty good yesterday but not so bad that I had tears. I am actually able to walk like a normal person and getting a B on the toilet test. Anyway, I did Super Cuts and the 100 triceps extensions. When the situp/pushup combo came up, I used the slow button on my DVD to slow Cathe down. I could actually keep up like that … well pretty close, they still beat me by a few seconds.

Janie I’m sorry you were having a few bad days. It sounds like you have a good plan though on how to get back on track. I’m glad your daughter returned your call. I will admit I am terrible at keeping in touch with my mom. My sister does a much better job than me. She will call my mom every night on her way home from work. I tend to call her at the end of the week to let her know we might stop by over the weekend. I love my mom very much I just don’t like talking on the phone and she does live a ways away from me so I can’t just stop by all the time. Ok, sorry for my long rant. I guess I was trying to relate my story in hopes of helping you feel even better. Anyway … Great job on 30/30!

Pam Great job on the 3 DVD marathon! I know that was the hardest part, switching out the DVDs! I think there is light weight work for the arms in HardStrikes that is the conditioning part. I haven’t done it myself though. I love triceps DOMS too because they don’t come often and I think that is the area I need to work on most between the triceps and biceps. I could skip all bicep work and probably be happy.

Have a great day!

My sinus stuff got worse and Tuesday I just felt miserable so I never made the cookies, or went to Bible study this week. Its back to being cold outside and will be sunny today and tomorrow then its back to the rain. This is the first week of Hubby's new off days so I bet we will wake up confused Sat morning.

Janie, sorry to hear about you bad week but I'm glad things are better. Hang in there!

Pam, I can't remember which workout {LIS?} but Cathe has us put firewalkerbands on then comments that she feels like a penguin, lol. I always get a kick out of that. :p

Julie, So are you waddling? I'm sure I would be. we haven't heard back from the vet, I"m going to get Hubby to call tomorrow and inquire if the results are back yet. I'd rather here a 'we don't know yet' than just nothing.

Did some stretches tonight for preparing to work hard tomorrow. I'm ready!
Continuing to eat healthy. Yea.

Pam, I'm getting back to it (again). It's a never ending thing, just have to deal with it as it comes and get back on the wagon. Hope you continue to be strong with those cookies in the house. They'd be gone if I were there. lol Yep, be strong! Great job on HS prem16 and the added Tabatacise 3-4 and also core #2. You did have a good workout. Yea, so glad hubby is coming home today. Enjoy him.

Julie, Good job on DOM's and doing Super Cuts and the 100 triceips extensions. Hmmm, hitting the slow button sounds like a good use. Will have to try it once I figure it out. Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. LOL;) We do the best we can that's all anyone can do.

Pinquin, Hope your sinus gets better really soon. Normal will come soon.:)

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie It sounds like you got the perfect amount of pain from your tough leg and glute workout - that is awesome! I love it when you get a bit of DOMS but not so much that you can't walk! Great job on Super Cuts and the 100 triceps extensions. We are somewhat on the same wavelength this week still - I ALMOST subbed Supercuts for Hard strikes yesterday. In fact, I had it in the DVD player but decided I should give Hard Strikes another chance. What a great idea using the slow button on your DV. I'm not sure mine has one of those, but I am definitely going to check now! I do pretty good on the first few sets of those push ups and sit ups, but then they start to pull away!

Penguin Oh so sorry that your sinuses are giving you such grief. When I have sinus issues I don't want to do anything but sleep so I can understand you not getting the cookies made or getting to Bible Study. I hope you get some relief soon. :( Oh man a new schedule to get uesd to, that can really throw you off! I will have to listen for Cathe's penguin comment. It's so funny, I can do these DVDs so many times and then suddenly hear her say something that I have never noticed before.

Janie Good for you on getting stretched and ready for your hard work, You go! Congrats on your continued healthy eating too. I made homemade chicken pot pie for dinner, so not so healthy there, but so far I have continued to resist the thin mints  I'm not sure how long that will last. It would be ok if I could eat just 1-2, but there is very little chance of that! Poor DH was pooped last night, he had such a busy week, but was so happy to be home. Those conferences are exhausting.

This morning for me was XTrain disc 1 chest, shoulders and back. I thought about adding on a tabata, but didn't think about it for too long :p and skipped it. So glad it's Friday, this has been a loooong week. Have a great day ladies, sure hope you are feeling better Penguin!

Pam

This morning my legs were still stiff. I did AOLIH + Core 1 and hopefully that will loosen them up a bit. I am so excited today is Friday. I am beyond ready for the weekend. Ozzie has a vet appointment tomorrow to get a new bump checked out. His last one was cancerous and was successfully removed so hopefully this one is manageable too. I am sure after that it will be a busy day of errands and cleaning.

Penguin Oh I am so sorry for your sinus problems. Sinus issues and head colds just make you feel like you can’t function. I hope you are getting better so you can enjoy your weekend with hubby. Our vet has the policy of “no news is good news” meaning they won’t call us unless something comes back wrong. I don’t like that especially since when we first got Ozzie they put his results in the do not call pile but he really had giardia and we should have gotten a call. We went another two months before we went back to the vet and they looked in his chart and asked us if he had been rechecked for clearing up the giardia. I was mad but they did make that vet appointment free of charge for their error.

Janie Great job on your stretching! I first went to slow on my DVD player and it was funny hearing Cathe talk in slow motion. My DVD player’s button is for fast/slow. So you hit it once and it speeds up the disc to 1.4x, hit it again and it goes to 1.2x, hit it again and it goes to normal speed, then again and it goes to 0.8x, then one more time to get it to 0.6x. I used the 0.8x speed and that seemed to work pretty well. Good luck!

Pam Great job on disc 1! That one kind of has a cardio effect to it. I don’t think I have HS on my list to do until sometime in March since I am still working up to higher impact. I’m kind of missing higher impact and am tempted to add some in now but I keep telling myself to ease into it so I don’t add a stress fracture to my still healing foot. Do try the slow feature if your DVD has it. I felt so much more comfortable being able to do all the sets but at a slightly slower pace.

Have a great day!

I'm feeling better today but still not great. My head is stuffy and I'm still coughing. I took the rugs, 5 small bath rugs spread throughout the house, outside to shake out before vacuuming and I had to sit down and gasp for breath for a while. Its COLD outside 32*, but the sun is shining. Hubby already texted that he has to work late tonight. This is the first weekend of Sat-Sun off so we are getting adjusted, lol.

Julie, I guess that's what I'm afraid of. I'd rather here something. anything than wonder what's going on.

Pam, I like listen to Cathe's comments because she's funny and it keeps my mind off what I'm doing to my poor body.

Janie, good job on the heathy eating!

Used the spin bike for about 30 min. Sweated and turned beet red. Gota love it.

Pam, Great job on XTrain disc 1 chest, shoulders and back. Tabata would have been too much anyway. LOL Next time when you are feeling lots of energy. Can't belive you still are resisting those cookies. Good for you!

Julie, Great job on AOLIH and Core 1. I bet by doing that you did loosen things up. Oh no, another pump on Ozzie. Hope everything turns out for the good. Let us know. I can't wait to do a DVD on slow. LOL

Pinquin, Glad you are feeling better, but get really better soon.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie wow, AOLIH with stiff legs must've been tough, great job and good for you doing core! I know you aren't a big fan. Oh no, sending lots of hugs to Ozzie, I hope everything checks out ok with him. I did find out that my DVD doesn't have a slow button, darn! That was such a great idea.
I think it's smart for you not to rush the higher impact, but I know it must be hard. I was just wondering how your foot is doing, is it feeling good?

Penguin Glad to hear you are starting to feel better, although it sounds like you still have a ways to go. It's cold here too and I don't like it  I want 75 back! one of my favorite Cathe comments that I didn't notice for a long time is when she says intermission but no popcorn in the middle of Hiit DWP. It made me laugh, especially when I had done the workout at least a dozen or more times before I ever heard it.

Janie Great job on your awesome spin and getting all red and sweaty! That is the best feeling! I'm sorry to report that the cookie resistance has come to an end :( I was proud of myself though because I was able to only eat one :) so not too much damage.

This morning for me was XTrain cardio legs, can't remember high disc that is, number 6 maybe. Then I did core number 1. I woke u around 4:30 to go to the bathroom and then could not get back to sleep, so ended up getting up at about 5:15 for my workout. It was nice being all done before 6:30 on a Saturday. Today is a running around day and tomorrow we are having a Super Bowl party, so I'll be making all kinds of very healthy goodies for that  Have a great day!

Pam

Still have my workout to do, will be another cardio/yoga in hopes that Cathe will have posted a rotation by Monday for February.

Here is a portrait I did called "Candy" My beautiful niece.

Pam, Great job on XTrain cardio legs. And also core #1. Oh I hate insomnia, I understand the annoyance of it. Good for you for making the best out of that situation. Enjoy the Super Bowl and party. Well, you are better than me with the cookie. You see, there is no way I could eat just one. Good for you!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been gone for so long. I looked back at my last post and it was three weeks ago. I can't believe that I missed so much time. Lately I have been doing my workouts in the evenings (if I have the energy) and by the time that is done along with dinner and a shower it is time for bed. The weather here hasn't been great, there was one week where the fog didn't lift at all and then it has been cloudy and rainy so I think that is why I am feeling so tired and run down. I think I need some sunshine. I think it is 47 days until Spring, Julie you will be able to confirm that for me as I remember you wanting Winter over with too. Pam did you and Eunice get signed up for the road trip? Eunice emailed me but I couldn't afford it. Lucky me that Vancouver is the second most expensive city in the world to live in, no wonder I can't make ends meet. Anyway I did do XT Legs today and tomorrow will be yoga. I hope I can get back on track and post regularly again.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Cheryl

Did Aerobic Yoga tonight. Haven't done that one for a million years. Felt so right.

Cheryl, So nice to hear from you! You were terribly missed! I too bellive weather can make us feel a little low. Great job on XT legs. Hopefully we'll have you back again.

Take care,

Janie

Janie Good job on aerobic yoga. I missed you guys too. Winter seems to really get me down now, it didn't used to affect me and it is so annoying. I am hoping that I can get back in posting regularly again.

Today was yoga. The instructor was a little off beat and I am not sure if I really liked his style of yoga. Nice thing is he will only be there this month and then someone else will take over. After that we went out to my parents house to check up on it. They are down in Yuma until the end of March.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Today is a rest day, will get back at it and do either the Intermediate rotation or Dec. 2012 rotation. Haven't decided yet. Big difference I know.

Cheryl, Winter hasn't really got me down so far. I'm lucky. Great job on yoga. Gotta like it before it does a body good. Glad another instructor will take his place. Joey and I used to travel to Yuma and met with my Mom and Dad and family friends there. Just a couple of times, but oh such great memories. The place is a dust bowl, but the people are awesome.

Take care,

Janie

Janie As i said on Facebook, every one of your drawigs gets better than the last. I don't know how you do it! Candy is just stunning!

Cheryl Good to have you back, we've missed you. I'm osrry to hear that you have the winter blues, I hope you get some nice sunshine to scare them off. I love the count down to spring though. I didn't know that Vancouver was the second most expensive place to live, :( that is pretty depressing too! Eunice and I did not end up signing up for the RT, she talked to her DH and he didn't think the timing was good for them right now. Hopefully there will be another one that we can make it to. Great job on XTrain legs and yoga. I'm glad to hear that the funky instructor won't be there too long!

Janie Great job on aerobic yoga!

Yesterday was my normal rest day and today is a rest day so far as I didn't feel like getting up to workout after being up so late last night. We had a lot of fun at the Super bowl party, but I didn't watch the game at all! I was too busy chatting with everybody :rolleyes: I didn't get to bed til midnight and then woke up with a terrible headache from drinking wine and hardly eating anything. My DH kept telling me to eat and I should have listened to him! I may do my workout when I get home tonight if I feel like it, but then again, I might not! Have a great Monday everyone!

Pam

Saturday we had errands to run and took Ozzie to the vet. His bumps turned out to be ok, at least for now. The vet wants to keep an eye on them. Sunday I did XTrain CBS + the 100 rep scarecrows. Then it was lazy day Sunday, my favorite day of the week. This morning I did STS Meso 2, disc 14, legs and then tacked on 100 hip thrusts for good measure. I love those trisets and just don’t feel like XTrain Legs works my legs that much. I’m gonna give it another shot but I gotta have a heavy leg day in the week.

Penguin So glad you were feeling better. Head colds and sinus issues seem to hang on forever. Hope you enjoyed your first weekend with DH home!

Janie Great job on the spin bike! Love the picture of Candy. She has a very lovely smile and beautiful eyes. Great job on Aerobic Yoga! I think I remember you doing that one a while ago. Cant’ remember who you said the instructor was. Looks like Cathe posted a February rotation but it mostly uses the new XTrain and CF/TTM workouts. I am looking forward to a rotation that mixes up new and old.

Pam Great job on XT CLB + core 1! What a bummer waking up so early on a Saturday but a great way to get your workout in and done early so you have plenty of time for errands. Hope you had a fabulous Super Bowl party. Too bad about the DVD player not having the slow button. My foot is doing good. Last night for some reason it was a little sore but I can’t figure out why since I didn’t do any leg work Saturday or Sunday. This morning it was feeling fine again so who knows what was going on. Sounds like you had a great SB party and probably deserve that extra rest day too. I will be honest and admit that I went to bed at my normal time so I didn’t even see the halftime show. Not that I am a big Beyonce fan anyway.

Cheryl So glad you didn’t leave us! I really missed hearing from you but understand how time slips away so easily. Winter can be so hard. Great job on keeping up with your workouts. Yep as of today it will be 45 days until the first official day of Spring! Great job on XTrain Legs and then yoga! Hopefully that guy was just having an off day. If not, like you said, he is only there for a month and then you will get someone new.

Have a great day!

Friday, feeling better, I cleaned house but that night Hubby had to work overtime. Sat he slept late and we didn't do much, then Yesterday we slept most of the day, but did clean the oven. My head is still stuffy and we are just tired, at least he has a good reason for being tired from the overtime. He did finish painting the metal shelf he snagged for me from work, and this morning we moved it into my sewing room so I can start getting stuff arranged on it {ie picked up off the floor!}. We had to go to the dentist midmorning but we both got good reports. Yay! Hubby called the vet and all is well with that test result of Aprils'. Another yay.

Julie, glad Ozzie is alright also

Janie, great work on the portrait. I saw a zentangle book at Joann's, ment to look at it in your honor but got sidetracked. Someone on Raverly recently started a 'Pencil Portrait Artists' group I thought you might find interesting

Pam, hope your headache is better

Cheryl, good to hear from you.

Janie Enjoy your rest day. The winter blues never affected me either until a couple of years ago and it seems it gets worse every winter. My parents are enjoying Yuma they know a lot of people there now so it is party central.

Pam Vancouver is right behind Hong Kong in expensive cities to live in. It can get depressing when your pay check doesn't go as far as you need it to. Too bad about the road trip but I know there will be others. So did you get your workout in or did you decide to take a rest day. It would be hard getting out of bed to get to work after partying. Was that what ugh meant on your FB status today?

Julie I am glad that Ozzie is OK. Glad that the vet is being proactive and wants to keep an eye on them. Good job on XTrain CBS + 100 rep scarecrows. I love trisets too for the legs but I did like XTrain legs way to go on disc 14 and the 100 hip thrusts. Yeah 45 days until Spring I can hardly wait.

Penguin Glad that you are feeling better. It isn't fun to be all stuffed up. Glad that everything is fine with April too.

I was going to workout tonight but when I got home our neighbour came over with some goodies so by the time she left and we had dinner and cleaned up it was too late to do anything. Tomorrow I am going to a retirement get together after work so I am going to try to do my workout in the morning. That way nothing will distract me.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl
