Strength in Numbers

Penguin I will need to keep Kelly in mind when I'm in need of some new workouts. Perhaps an item for my Christmas wish list! It sounds like you have such a great relationship with your parents, I love that. I hope you enjoyed your lunch and shopping. I had to brave my attic yesterday too looking for a pie pan. I found 2 and they were both completely covered in dust, which shows how often I make pie!

Julie Great job on Gym Styles Chest & Triceps. That is weird about the pushups. Maybe something about the angle or arm placement has you working your muscles in a different way. Your turkeys are adorable! Your nieces and nephews will love them.
Well you would be my favorite aunt with the 2 cheesecakes alone and then throw in the turkeys and it would just seal the deal!

Penguin Great job on cardio abs. I'm so glad to hear that your hubby got home for Thanksgiving!! Did your bird have to take a bath last night? :p Those darn things can be so uncooperative sometimes!

Cheryl Sorry to hear that your repairs got delayed, but at least it wasn't for too long. I think I try to black interval 9 of Imax 2 out of my mind so I'm not dreading it the whole workout. My legs are just screaming by the end of that one! Oh no! I did that once with a cup of coffee, isn't that annoying?!

This morning I had TBT Lower body split on the calendar, so I did that and then did the Hiit 30/20 from To the Max. I figured I needed the extra calorie burn today! Last night all of the kids got home for Thanksgiving and it was really fun having them all here. We always do soup for dinner the night before Thanksgiving to have a nice light meal before the big stuffing. I got both my pies and my cheesecake made, made turkey broth, made cornbread for cornbread dressing and I have all of the bread out drying for the traditional stuffing. So all I have to make today are the 2 stuffings and the ganache for the cheesecake. Have a great Thanksgiving Julie, Janie, Penguin, and Eunice! Cheryl, I wish you were off work with us today too! Have a great day!

Pam

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Tomorrow I'm planning on doing a cardio and working on a rotation.

Julie, Great job on GS chest & Triceps. That is interesting about your pushups. Hmmmm. Those little turkeys you made are adorable! I bet they taste good too.

Cheryl, Hope you had a good rest day. Oh no! Coffee is no good when you can't drink it! Poor thing, try and have a good day and catch up on your sleep.

Pam, Great job on TBT Lower body split and Hiit 30/20 from TTM. Love it when all the kids come to the house for holidays. This year we are going to them. Your Thanksgiving dinner sounds marvelous as usual. Oh, that's so sweet, wish we all could get together. How cool would that be!

Penquin, Enjoy your crafting and reading, I love those things.

Bird is in the oven and scheduled to come out in an hour! I think, so far, this has been the less stressful Tday yet. I also did Cathe's Athletic Training: I really enjoy this one and should do it more often. High rep/low weight with a lot of fun mixed in. I'm off to shower, hopefully Hubby will be home from work soon!

Pam, 'Bird' did get a bath last night, he was still kinda icy in the center this morning, I almost couldn't get the neck out, but finally did. I started thawing on Sun, which I thought would be fine, since I didn 't want to get too far ahead. April got a bath last night too but seperate from 'Bird's'. :p

Pam Our contractor didn't show up again today. I am getting a bit annoyed now and he didn't call to say that he won't be able to make it just left us hanging. Good job on TBT Lower Body Split and 30/20 from TTM. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and yes I wish that I had today off too.

Janie Happy Thanksgiving Janie I hope your enjoyed your day.

Penguin Good job on Athletic Training, it is a fun workout isn't it. You must have a huge turkey if it was still frozen today after thawing for several days.

I have been on some intense manager training for the past several days and it is really wiping me out plus I am out in another building and out of my routine. I was way too tired to even try working out today. Tomorrow I will be back into my routine so hopefully I will be able to get one in then.

Cheryl

Janie I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, thanks for the wishes!

Penguin I'm glad to hear you had an un-stressful Thanksgiving. Ours really was too, although I told DH it seemed like I was doing more cooking/baking than I do when it's at our house :confused: Great job on AT, I love that workout too! It really is amazing how long it takes for turkeys to thaw! I'd had that problem of struggling to get the neck out before too  You're too funny, I'm glad to hear that April and the turkey didn't bathe together! :D

Cheryl Oh how frustrating that the contractor didn't show up again! That seems to be a common issue with contractors everywhere. It amazes me with how tough the job market is these days that people can do that.
I hope you are enjoying being back on your regular schedule today!

Our dinner was really nice. We had so much food but everything was so good. I was mad though because I really felt like I behaved myself - I didn't stuff myself and didn't even eat dessert, just a bite of Doug's, but I was still up a pound this morning  I don't get it. My glutes and quads are just killing me from yesterdays lower body workout, I am doing that 90 year old woman walk today. I was supposed to do Cycle max but there was no way this butt was going to be able to sit on a bike for an hour, so I did Step Works instead. It was good to get moving around and loosen up the muscles a bit and BOY did the stretch feel great! Now it's been a lazy morning. Tomorrow is DHs birthday and we are celebrating tonight because we are going to a friend's tomorrow. He requested chicken and dumplings so I'll be starting on that soon. I hope everyone has a great day!

Pam

Hubby has to go out of town all next week, but he's taken Sat off so we can have some time together.

I did Tracey's Walking Stronger. My parents lent me their laptop to see if I would like as my Christmas present a small DVD player to put on the TM. Entertainment seems to help; I wasn't clock watching the whole time and did 50min.

Pam, no way was I going to weigh myself this morning! Tday and TOM together? I don't want to know! :p

Cheryl, 'Bird' was 18lbs. I weighed the meat leftover (5lbs) and the carcass (4lbs) and only got about 10lbs total so I wonder where the rest went!? Many I read the scale wrong?

Today was 30/20 from TTM premix. It was a great workout. So good to sweat again.

Cheryl, I did enjoy Thanksgiving. I hope you did as well. Great job doing intense manager training for the past several days. Hope you had a great rest day.

Pam, I did have a great Thanksgiving with family. Sounds like you did too. One pound is nothing and I know being good and still gaining is very frustrating. Hang in there. It could be that you gained some muscle though. Great job on the DOM's by the way. Great job on SW and stretches, that one is a hard one to me. Tell your honey happy birthday and you guys enjoy the chicken and dumplings. Haven't had that for years. Hmmmmm.

Later,

Janie

Today I did a slow steady ride on the spinning bike. However, after 45 min. I was more sweaty than I thought I would be. Yea!
Here's the art piece I did of my Dad's Hands, hence the name.
This is called "Dad's Hands"
If you look closely you will see all the names of his children under his hands. I'm so proud of him. He has lived a struggled life in his younger years and managed to provide and care for all of us. What a joy to have him as a father.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Pam We have decided that we are going to do the ceiling ourselves. The contractor came over this afternoon to let us know that he hasn't forgotten about us but that he has been really busy. I told him that as he is so busy and that we would like it done now and not in a couple of weeks that we would do it ourselves. He said that he understood but if we needed help with the mudding that he would do that for us. That is so annoying that you behaved and still was up a pound. Oh I can understand that 90 year old woman walk. Good job on doing Step Works. Sometimes just getting moving does help loosen you up. Happy birthday to you DH.

Penguin Good job on Tracey's Walking Stronger. If TM stands for treadmill entertainment does help. It is really boring if you don't have anything to keep your mind occupied. That was a big bird, maybe you did read the scale wrong.

Janie Good job on the 30/20 premix from TTM and your slow steady ride on your spin bike. Glad that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving. You are very talented that is a great picture.

Today I did Legs and Glutes, it had been a long time since I did that you. After that it was grocery shopping, housework and laundry.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheryl

Penguin That was nice that your hubby was able to take off Saturday to spend some time with you before going out of town. I hope you enjoyed the day! Great job on Walking stronger. I think it's a great idea to have some entertainment while on the TM, it definitely would help to make it less boring! I have to weigh myself every day, it's an obsession! I use it as a guide for how good I need to be that day!

Janie Great job on 30/20, glad you got a nice sweat on! I'm so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Oh yes, we enjoyed the chicken and dumplings. It actually was chicken and turkey and dumplings because I used the turkey carcass to make the stock. It is Ashley's favorite meal. In fact she had it again for dinner last night and took the leftovers back to school with her today :D
Great job on your spin. That bike really really works up a sweat! I have to say that your dad's hands drawing is just amazing. Has he seen it yet? What a touching tribute. And I just love that you put all of his children's names under his hands.

Cheryl Well it was nice that the contractor came by but what a pain that you are having to do it yourselves. Good luck with that. Yesterday I was up to about a 70 year old woman walk, so that was progress. I'm almost back to normal today, so guess it is time to torture my legs again...;) Thanks for the birthday wishes for DH, I think he enjoyed his day.
Great job on Legs and glutes, I'm thinking you may be doing the 90 yo walk after that!

Yesterday I decided to take off since my legs and glutes were still pretty sore and I wanted to make a birthday breakfast for DH. This morning was supposed to be step max, but I don't like that one so I did Cardio super sets and Core max 1. I started into Horizontal conditioning volume 4, but after about 5 minutes decided I didn't want to work that hard  She was doing these crazy leg exercises with the step and the ball. One of these days! I can't believe how fast this 4 days off went, wow. Have a great day ladies!

Pam

Its earlier than I wanted to be up, but Hubby came in, said goodbye, then I couldn't fall back asleep. Temps have gotten chilly again, blech, and its supposed to rain. I need to get out and clean up the yard and prune some things that are looking scraggly now that the leaves have dropped off. But not today! {the rain sounds really loud hitting all the dead leaves.} We had a nice weekend. we are both going to be confused all week because of the day's off change! I think its Tuesday. UB & cardio for later.

Janie, nice drawing! I love the addition of the red plaid! I keep thinking a bike might be easier than the treadmill but since I already have the treadmill, I should just stick with that. {it was free afterall, a woman who was moving was giving it away}

Pam, I used to weigh everyday but normal fluctations drove me nuts, I'd feel I'd been very 'good' then the scale would go up anyway. But I understand what you mean, using it as a guide keeps me consistant.

Cheryl, good luck on the ceiling, I hope its not too much of a mess!

Penguin Sorry you didn't get to sleep later, that seems like it's a theme huh? I'm hating the colder weather too, I would like summer back! I'm glad you had a nice weekend! I know they say that you aren't supposed to weigh yourself every day and those sudden fluctuations can be so annoying, but it really does help me to maintain.

I'm hoping most of our leaves are down now, I went out and blew then off the lawn yesterday but ran out of gas before I got it all done. It's mostly done though, just a little more in the backyard and it looks so much better. This morning was Crossfire, I was happy when I saw that on the calendar. It did kick my butt though! I hated setting the alarm this morning. UGH, I think work would be easier if I could just get up whenever! Have a great Monday everyone!

Pam

Wow I missed a lot by not posting over the holiday weekend. I did get in GS BSB on Thursday but no workouts since. Friday was shopping day (not crazy up at 4 am shopping though), Saturday I was sick to my stomach literally and still feel bad after pretty much sleeping all day Saturday and Sunday. My shoulder is also hurting me for some reason (maybe sleeping on it wrong) so I decided my body must be telling me to take some days off. I will play it by ear and see if I am feeling up to working out later this week.

Penguin Great job on Athletic Training on Turkey Day! That one is a good one and a great calorie burner for the feast day! Great job on Walking Stronger. I’ve never done a walking workout but am intrigued by them. Hope you had a wonderful Saturday with DH before he left for a week.

Cheryl Oh my what a mess to clean up after not having your cup under the Keurig. Not a good way to start the day. That is annoying about the contractor leaving you hanging. Great job on Legs & Glutes! Well even though it will stink doing the job yourself you will probably save yourself money and maybe even frustrating in the long run.

Pam Great job on doing TBT LB + 30/20 from TTM on Turkey day! I’m sure that extra calorie burn helped. Great job on Step Works instead of Cycle Max. CM would be really tough with sore legs and glutes. I bet that pound was just from extra sodium in the food or from the leg workout causing your muscles to hold onto water. Great job on CSS + CM1! I think I would switch that out for Step Max too! Great job on CF! Haha! I love that idea of just being able to get up whenever.

Janie Great job on 30/20 premix! Great job on your slow & steady bike ride and getting good and sweaty! I love the picture. You are so very talented. I really think you could sell some of your artwork. Will you be keeping that picture or giving it to your dad?

Have a great day!

I did Cathe's Pyramid Upper Body 'Up' premix. I finished the laundry, took in a pair of pants {the waist was big when I bought them, so no weightloss implied:p} and have been working on my brown cardigan which I decided I liked better as a vest so less work there.

Julie, Walking Stronger is a walking workout but not like a Leslie. Its designed to be used on the treadmill but also has a modifier on the floor. I like very simple choreo because I get confused easily. Enjoy the days off.

Pam, good job on the leaves. I pulled Crossfire out for tomorrow.

Today I did a little yoga. It's been to long and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pam, My Dad hasn't seen it yet, but thinking about sending it to him for a Christmas present all framed and ready to hang on his wall. Just wish I could see his eyes while he opens it. Great job on a a day off. You deserve to rest those glutes. Did hubby have a happy birthday? Great job on cardio super sets and core max 1. I don't blame you for not continuing with HC, you did enough anyway. Great job on today's CF and blowing the leaves. I bet the place looks awesome now that they are gone.

Julie, Great job on GS BSB on Thurs. (Thanksgiving) Did you get your Christmas list done? I agree on taking days off, your body is telling you all about it. Good you are listening. I'm giving Dad's Hands to him for a Christmas present. Just wish I was there when he opens it.

Penquin, Great job on PUB Up Prem. Also getting your laundry done and sewing. Congrats on your weight loss. Very proud of you! Enjoy working on your vest.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Penguin Don't you hate it when you can't get back to sleep. The ceiling was a mess the drywall gets everywhere :D. Good job on Pyramid Upper Body Up premix. That is one of my favorite upper body workouts.

Pam Four days off always fly by. Good job on Cardio Supersets and core max 1 and Crossfire today. Maybe next weekend you will have the energy to do the Horizontal Conditioning.

Julie Good job on doing GS BSB last Thursday. Maybe you had a touch of the flu over the weekend. Smart idea to take a few days off and let your body recover from whatever you had. Hopefully you will feel better later this week.

Because my Dad and Brother came over to help us with the ceiling yesterday I couldn't get to yoga so I decided to do Yoga Max at home instead. What a mess it was to take down part of the ceiling. Right now there is a huge gaping hole overtop of the fridge, sink and part of our cupboards. Tango was up on top of the fridge in no time seeing what trouble he could get into with that open hole. So we have had to put things on top of the fridge and the top of the cupboards so he can't jump on top of it. There is still too much loose drywall and some mold up there so I don't want him walking in it and then licking his paws. Today I was going to do a TRX workout that I from their website. So tonight I hooked up the TRX to the door and when I leaned back to start an exercise the door flew open and I flew back and landed on one of our large containers that is storing things from the kitchen. Well I gave myself a really good headache and so much for my workout since the corner of the container got me right in the middle of my back. Note to self.....make sure the door I am using is closed completely and does not open the same direction that I am pulling .

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie great job on GS BSB on Thanksgiving and getting some shopping done. I avoided all stores on Friday, didn't even have to go to the grocery store! Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well over the weekend, I hope you are feeling better now.

B]Penguin[/B] Great job on PUB Up. I really like that workout (except for all of the stability ball stuff at the end ) That is funny that your cardigan is becoming a vest. I guess it will be finished a lot sooner! I hope you enjoy Crossfire today! It always leaves me completely spent!

Janie Great job on yoga! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Oh, I so wish you would be able to see your dad's face when he opens your special gift. :( Yes, hubby did enjoy his birthday. We had a nice dinner at home with the kids on Friday, then a birthday breakfast, and dinner at a friends house on Saturday. Carl took him to see the Bond movie on Saturday afternoon too, so it was a full day. The place looks a lot better with the leaves gone and I think they are finally done falling. Next though is getting out the rake and getting all of the leaves from under the bushes....

Cheryl Oh boy, your project sounds like quite the mess. That is one thing with cats, they have to be in the middle of everything! great job on Yoga Max. OMG, I hope that you didn't hurt yourself too badly with the TRX accident. OUCH!

This morning for me was STS disc 13 chest, shoulders and triceps. It seemed like such a luxury having those 60 second rests between sets and no pushups! Have a great day everyone!

Pam

This morning my stomach was feeling a little better and my shoulder was feeling much better so I decided to do GS Chest & Triceps. I had one moment of stomach queasiness during the workout but it passed so hopefully I am in the clear now.

Penguin Great job on Pyramid Upper Body Up premix and the housework (which can be quite the workout in itself)! I’m thinking I might switch out Gym Styles for Pyramid Upper later this week or next. I’m not a knitter but I would think sleeves can be very hard to do. I’m not much on complex choreography either. I can do most Cathe step workouts but I had to really work hard at getting them.

Janie Great job on yoga! I’m hoping when I get my walking boot I might be able to do yoga relax as I really miss it. I got some Christmas shopping done but still have a few more nieces and nephews to buy for and then I like to get small gifts for the people I supervise at work. Is there someone that could video your dad opening the gift? We did that once when we sent my grandma something. We had my aunt video her opening the gift so we could see her face. I know it is not the same as being there but it was still nice.

Cheryl Great job on Yoga Max! Oh I have been there with taking down filthy, moldy drywall and then having to put new drywall up. Luckily we didn’t have to do the ceilings but all the walls in our 4 room basement had to be done plus the hallway. It is certainly stinky, messy, dirty work. That is a good idea to keep Tango out of trouble. Oh my, that is not a good way to start the day. I hope you are feeling better today and that your back is ok. Funny how you think of these things after something bad happens. Like the door needing to be a certain direction or the fact that the barbell might get in the way when you are jumping.

Pam Great job on STS disc 13! I was just thinking this morning through the 72 pushups in GS why are there so many? Wouldn’t a set of 16 be just as effective? I’m really hoping XTrain has no pushups or at least no more than a set or 2 of 8. Any more than that and I may dread it.

Have a great day!

today from Cathe's Crossfire DVD, I did The Cardio Blast premix, which is the bulk of the workout. I've never done this part before because I keep doing the Triple Tabata premix. :p

The house smells like cookies because I baked a batch for Bible study tomorrow. Hubby and I are picking a movie each night and watching it together while texting comments about the movie. Almost like a real date! We re-watched Wall-E last night. Rizzoli and Isles for tonight. I finished my vest and hope to wear it tomorrow. I need to check it for dangling yan ends.

Julie, I used to be able to do most of Cathe's step but lost patience with myself when I couldn't remember the combos then just got bored with them. I've traded some but still have more than I use. I prefer more interval or tabata like cardio. No thinking.

Pam, I didn't like the PUB abs section much either, and subbed a lot of the exercises.

Cheryl, Hubby had a friend whose wife wanted him to scrape the popcorn off the ceiling in the living room. He didn't like the dust so sprayed down the ceiling with the garden hose. It worked but another form of big mess!

Janie, I'm sure your dad would love the picture!
