Ripped with HiiT January

Today was Plyo HiiT 1, X10 Cardio Blast, and Abs 1. My one-armed burpees were especially ugly this time since my back, biceps and shoulders are screaming from yesterday.

I wish I had time to do doubles, and I don't even have kids! I LOVE working out. I consider it an addiction!!

This morning was Les Mills Combat Upper Body Blowout + Power HIIT 1. My upper body is feeling it! Planned doubles is YAYOG Novice #2.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Sara! I still have a lingering cough, but it isn't really affecting anything. Just irritating.

You know what I find funny about the decline push ups? Is that everything is subjective. I did 13 weeks of Body Beast prior to this and f0r Chest workouts you did decline push ups with your feet on a bench (so higher than what Cathe has you use in RwH Chest, Shoulders & Triceps). I've been reading Mark Lauren's bodyweight training books and in them he states that to make a push up easier you raise the upper half of your body; so hands on bench, toes on floor, body straight. As you lower your upper body, the push ups become harder. Once you are doing full floor push ups, you start raising your legs--so the higher your legs, the more advanced the push up. I bring this up because during Body Beast I could do every single rep of every single decline push up with my feet on the bench! So advanced, right? When I do Cathe's RwH Chest, Shoulders & Tris--I cannot do one decline push up. Not ONE! I have to do regular push ups and drop to my knees halfway through. Obviously that is because she has completely burned out the muscle group you are working beforehand but I find it so interesting (and humbling) how subjective it is. I felt really strong during Body Beast. Not so much during RwH.

This morning I did lower body circuit with the abs mixed in. Not sure I like this premix.I would have preferred abs 1 instead of two. My heart rate fell every time I went down to the floor.

Sara, glad your on the mend. I like KCM. My favorite of hers is Home gym intervals. I just found it fun, and I get to use my bike. :)

This morning I did Rodney Yee's A.M. Yoga For Your Week: Hip Openers

Yesterday I took a rest day but late last night I did Ultimate Yogi: Gentle Yoga for the stretch and stress relief. Way back on Saturday I got sore from front barbell squats (that particular move seems to always give me problems!) doing Hiit Circuit LB, and every once in a while I'll move wrong and get a back spasm. So I've been taking it easy.

Ladies, I have not even attempted to do *any* of the decline push-ups for the finishers. A few on toes then down to my knees!:oops:

Jen, I thought the same about the decline push ups! I thought I was a rock star doing them all in Body Beast so of course I'd be able to do them in the RWH workout. Yeah, very humbling experience.

Today was LIHI Legs premix #6. Another winner! It uses all of Abs 1 and most of Abs 2. It leaves out the side planks and snow angels which was fine with me...I'm not very good at those snow angels.

This morning was EFX #2 and planned doubles is Mobility RX #1. I am still doing RwH, but for the rest of this month I am alternating a week of EFX with a week of RIHI workouts. However, I am doing RwH workouts this week--they are just at the end of the week.

Today is Rockout Knockout, but I'll add the heavy bag segment at the end (even though I don't have one I just do the moves). This is a fun workout and I use weighted gloves for the whole thing.

I'm wondering about doing a burn set rotation with the Xtrain burn sets. Any thoughts? Those scarecrows got me thinking....

This morning I did RWH Back, Biceps, and Shoulders. I did skip the bent over rows finishers and also went to seated rear delt flys after feeling the first set in my lower back. I think my back will be ok as long as I'm careful.

Yesterday was RWH Upper body circuit. Today was a rest day so just did some yoga. My shoulders and back needed a good stretch, along with my hamstrings. Everything else is feeling pretty good, but haven't lifted heavy this week, that starts again next week.

Today was Rockout Knockout. A nice change of pace, and it was so nice to get some kickboxing in. It's been awhile since I've done the workout so there were times when I felt like I was flailing around a bit!

This morning I did RWH upper body circuit. I like this one. Towards the end I get confused if cathe is using 8s or 10s. She says pick up your 10s, but at the end of the exercise she says put down your 8s.

Hmm.....
which one is it?

This morning was HIIT Upper Body Circuit for me, too Elaine (+Abs 2). And I noticed the same thing. She is using 8s for triceps then says something to indicate she was using 10s. I am using heavier weights than she does for nearly every exercise anyway so I don't really pay attention to it. I just reference my workout card for everything.

I've been doing premix 5 for so long I forgot how intense Upper Body Circuit was w/out the longer breaks! Awesome workout!

Planned doubles is YAYOG Novice #3.

I will be doing LIHI Legs w/ abs #1 this morning. This one is fun, fun, fun. I'm wondering if I would get more benefit by doing the workout first and then the abs, or if it would be equally beneficial if I did the premix with the abs intermixed....

Jengollf, the posts about EFX have me interested. I'm wondering if they are short enough to squeeze in on an energetic evening.

Sara--I am in love with Mark Lauren's workouts--DVDs, books and his app. I have several favorite trainers but my two current #1 favorites are Cathe and Mark Lauren. KCM is close behind.

As for length, they vary. EFX workouts are between 50-60 minutes. YAYOG are shorter--around 30 minutes. Mobility RX are around 40 minutes. He has another DVD that I own but haven't done yet but those workotus are between 30-40 minutes. His book and app programs are as long as you need or want them to be.

This morning was Afterburn and now just finished RWH Low impact #2 premix #7 (scrambled). Another wonderful short premix. I think tomorrow I'm going to try the Cathe live from today. I'll have to see how I'm feeling.
