I don't understand the part about the camera man running around - was he running in and out of the workout? I saw that somewhere else too and I can't remember where. Was it in TJ?

Yes, there is one in TJ, P90X, and Slim Series(I think).


Nobody wants a bad set. I'm not sure if the set is bad here - but it is best that it is not a distraction..

I'm not sure if your asking or you have previewed CLX?
IMO, the set for CLX is very appealing. Nothing that distracts me.
But for majority of the workout, I'm looking and concentrating on my own form. I think you have to pay close attention to your own form with heavy weights or you risk injury.
 
I need to clarify my "tend to agree" comments earlier. First, I lead a Turbo Jam forum on another site, so I definitely a fan! If it weren't for Chalene, I still would be a couch potato! She made exercise fun. But there are some things that do bother me about this workout set. I guess the biggest is the camera man... And then little things of out "extreme" she went with clothing and hair and the videos etc... To me it feels forced, and past her personality. I love her spontaneity and love for fun, enthusiasm and the way she seems to really care about her fans, but so far (and I still haven't done them, so I may change my mind) this set seems out of character and brassy. Does that make sense?

Anyhow, I may start it next week and then I'll finally get to have a true feel for it. I hope I love it as much as every other Chalene workout I've done (ok, all of them!)
 
What Cynthia said...especially her first three posts. Cynthia, your posts, by the way, ARE what pushed me right over the edge. I love Cathe's workouts but I appreciate a variety of instructors now, thanks to VF and it makes working out so much more interesting and it keeps me motivated! I appreciate the "differentness" and even the somewhat over the top "quirks" of Chalean and CLX. Her sister DID have on some might small and tight shorts in Burn Circuit 3...yowza! I don't really know how she did anything in those!!!

I am going to have to get replacements. I tried not too look but had my hubby check them out. There are scratches. I'm stupid. I've never looked at my DVD's before. Hubby told me to get the lifetime insurance and get replacements. So, I'll be calling tomorrow. At least my set works and I'm insisiting that I won't be sending these back as I want to continue with the rotations I've started. Plus, I just don't think I should have to be bothered unless they want to send me a SASE (WITH MY REPLACEMENT DVD'S) like Cathe did when we had to send back the BB series was it?
 
This is what turns me off about Chalene -- her gangsta wannabe attitude.


You know, my kids enjoy (I do too) hip hop and they(we) were not gangsters or gangster wannabes. It's a form of dance and that is not a crime. Calling someone you do not know a gangsta wannabe is totally uncalled for.
The Beatles did not encourage me or my friends to have sex and commit crimes either.
 
Which workout are the boots in? I agree that she doesn't take herself too seriously which is nice.

I swear her clothing style is straight out of Limited Too! :eek:
 
Yes, those are the boots! She is wearing them in push circuit 3. It's funny, when I first saw her wearing them I thought," girl you are going to regret them 5 years from now." Then she said exactly what I was thinking! I couldn't help but laugh.
I think most of us can relate to wearing something we regret later.:D I'm old enough to remember the Jane Fonda leg warmers and the flash dance craze:eek:
I proudly wore my leg warmers and torn one shoulder tees:eek:
 
I totally agree Kathryn with everything you've said. I really wish there was more variety in the warmups!!! But, I really like her form pointers.......I feel I'm doing everything so much better than I used to. I love Chalene's personality......I find her totally motivating. I really don't care at all about her makeup, clothes, etc.......doesn't bother me at all. I think she's the Real Thing!!!! And, I like most of her Turbo Jam workouts. I love Cathe too, of course, or I wouldn't be on this site.

Ah yes, I was a Flashdance wanna-be! I can't believe I wore some of the workout stuff I did, thank goodness I have no pictures!

If you get a CS rep that does tell you to send them back, then tell them you'll do it if you get a SASE. Otherwise, I wouldn't even mention it.

In the vast majority of cases, they won't ask you to send the discs back (at least most of the CS reps don't). You can keep them and do whatever you want with them.

Do you have them and do you like them?

I'm looking for some lower(medium) intensity workouts to use during recovery weeks for STS.
I'm going to add recovery weeks to CLX the next time I use the program.
 
I adore Cathe. I think I could go out with her, have a very good healthy meal, some giggles and girl chat and come back having a very good time.

I adore Chalene for a different reason - I think she'd be the girlfriend you go out with when you need an adventure. She's be the one who'd drag you to the dance floor and have you dancing all night and having a blast. You'd be exhausted and sore the next day and loving every minute of it.

It's good to have both kinds of girlfriends. :p

Hey can someone tell me how to order the extra Chalene Extreme DVD? I ordered the basic package and it came without that extra workout. I want it but cannot for the life of me figure out how to order the darn thing over on Beach Body??

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this workout and I think you will too!. I really like working with the stability ball. This was such a great workout. I also enjoy Kickin' Core, but you only use the ball for half the workout. Trust me, you will be so happy you bought these two workouts!

I'll pm you the name of my coach. She was very helpful getting my scratched disc replaced. I didn't have to deal with BB at all:cool:
 
One thing that I get sick of is Chalene pointing to her long, lanky (and gorgeous :) ) sister and telling everyone 'This is what happens when you lift weights, you don't bulk up.' Well yeah if you have her build and genetics. But as a straight up muscular mesomorph who gains muscle just thinking about weight training (and gains fat just by thinking about cookies! :) ) comments like that get old fast.
