Possible CTX rotation for February.

Hi Wendy,

Wow, you're in New Jersey. I'm going to be that way -- at least I plan to be right now -- sometime in September -- I'll be with another author -- and we'll be touring our new books.

Yeah, I raised my kids on the East Coast -- Vermont -- and my daughter yearned to get back on the East Coast -- Yes, I'm still here in the LA area. Love it. Love the weather. But I also loved Vermont -- most beautiful place I have ever lived, I think.

Anyway, did Circuit Max today -- it was tough -- and I loved it. I think you'll find the FIRM much easier now that you've been doing Cathe. I tend to save those workouts for days when I want an easier workout.

Oh, I finished another course this week. Two more to go and then I can settle down to deadline. Did I say settle?:+

How exciting that you can feel the baby move. I remember that. Oh, my gosh, how I loved it, too. You're gonna love it, Wendy. I know you are. It's so exciting to be a new mother. What a wonderful time you have ahead of you.

Anyway, have a terrific day.:7

Hey Karen.

You know my sister lived in Vermont for quite some time...she moved down into NY state several years ago but she used to live in a town called Underhill--she was in the woods off of a dirt road! My mom and I would drive up to visit her & her family a few weekends a year. You are right- it certainly IS beautiful up there. Personally not my cup of tea as far as the lifestyle goes...tho maybe in Burlington it would be...and definately too cold! BRRR! lol

So yeah, I'm in Jersey. Not the greatest place on earth to live I am sure but it's all I have ever called home. Everyone and everything I know is here...I'd be hard pressed to move away at this point...unless it was just to like the eastern edge of PA or something.

So I have been focusing on weight training this month...I have done Supersets, Push Pull, PUB, PLB and Muscle Endurance so far with intermittent cardio and circuit work outs thrown in. It was my first experience with all of the weight work outs! I bought the work outs several weeks back but wanted to finish out my ctx rotation before I tried them so that I wouldn't get side-tracked.:)
I am really enjoying the rotation. It's a nice change of pace from the ctx rotation. Totally different. Keeps it interesting.

One day I am going to do a rotation using only the Body Blast Series and then follow that right up with a rotation using the Intensity Series and then....as soon as I acquire the full Hardcore series I'll do the same with that!:7 I have lots of plans...let's hope I continue to have lots of energy (and the time!!!) to make these plans a reality! LOL

Well, glad you are coming to the end of your courses so that you can "settle" a bit...you deserve the rest!

Have a great work out!

Hi Wendy,

Was it really March 11th the last time I wrote to you? Gee...

Well, I finished my last course last night -- Sat evening -- tonight I decided I'd better log on and find out how you're doing.

I've been to Underhill -- I used to be a Realtor in Vermont and so I went all over the place. Underhill is very rural, very beautiful -- Burlington is more city-ish, you're right -- a little more my cup of tea, as well. There used to be a joke in Vermont and it went, "Do you know the best thing about living in Burlington, VT?" "It's because it's so close to Vermont." Meaning Burlington is hardly rural -- and yet it was in some ways. It was so very, very beautiful and I really loved it -- cold weather and all.x(

Anyway, sounds like you've really got a good thing going -- how did the workouts go -- the muscle workouts and such? Last week was again a busy week for me and so I again did some short workouts, falling back on IMAX3 -- the shortened versions in the premix -- and my all time stand-by, Calorie Killer with Nancy Tucker. Did manage to get in Muscle Endurance -- one of my most favorite workouts.

Anyway, I'm diving back into my work -- I'll be helping out with my church on weekends, but I'll be home alot more now and although busy, will be able to log on and say "hi" more often.:7

How're you doing? by the way.

Have a great one.:7

Hi Karen.

Still haven't done Calorie Killer...I really need to do it soon just to see how I fair in comparison...It was one of my faves before I found Cathe.

The weight rotation is going well. down to the last 2 weeks of it now.

I did Muscle Endurance for the first time during this rotation...that is one TOUGH work out but I can see why you'd like it! From what I am hearing, it is quite popular among Cathe-ites! I really like it too. I did it the first time in full...the 2nd time I split it up and did the upper body premix one day with added cardio and lower body premix the next day with some added cardio. The biceps and chest work in ME are PARTICULARLY difficult! I really love ME right now because the only work that is done in supine position is the chest so it's a lot easier for me...I don't have to spend so much time messing with my equipment to create an incline every time Cathe lays down on her bench to do an exercise.

I really enjoy the pyramids too. Those are some toughies as well! I really like the Pyramid combo premix. Nice challenging total body work out using the pyramid concept with out having to spend all of the time to do the original format. I won't do the upper and lower in original format in one day...that's too much for me. I do them on 2 different days!

Busy busy busy! You are much happier that way, huh? :) Well good for you as long as you enjoy it!

All is well with me on the pregnancy front. Was at the doc's last monday and now start the visits every 2 weeks beginning a week from today. Not long now....7 more weeks of work until I am out on maternity leave! :+ :+ :+ 2 more weeks after that until my due date! :+ :+ :+ Though I just found out that my DH thinks I'll be delivering early...May 6th or May 7th...mind you, May 6th is my last day of work!!! I hope he's wrong...lol...only because I'd like a week to get some stuff done around the house before the day comes!

Okay, well, I'm off for now!

Take Care!

Have a great work out!

Hi Wendy,

Wow, you're down to 9 weeks. Gosh, I'm excited just reading your posts. I keep thinking back to that time of my life and how I really loved it. Of course, I wasn't in atheletic shape at that time -- I think you'll have one up on me there -- but it's really something to bring a new life into being. It's a miracle really.

Isn't ME a good workout? Every time I do it, I wonder how I ever managed to get all the way through it the first time -- and so I keep pushing myself and saying to myself that if I did it then, I can do it now. I like the pyramids, too, but I don't often split up my weight days -- I don't know why, actually, unless it's a time thing.

Did IMAX2 today -- it's one of my all time favorites, as well...I bet it will become yours, too, someday soon.

Yes, I do seem to thrive on having much to do;) Though I like to loaf as much as anyone else, I also like to be productive, makes me feel as though I'm accomplishing something. And I'm going to have to be very productive -- as I've put the deadline off a bit too long. It's going to be a lot of long days ahead -- but the good part is that I'll be able to log on more often nowadays.

A May baby. Great month -- May. I got married in May to my most wonderful hubbie.

I'm planning to open up my next book with a long ago Indian gambling sceen -- the stick game -- still played today, actually. Am looking forward to settling down to write. Ran around today getting things done that I'd been putting off -- oh, also got a new body bar -- a heavier one -- I can't use the same weights Cathe does -- this new body bar is 15 lbs. -- and that's the highest I've gone so far, except for rows where I use 8 lbs.

Anyway, have a terrific evening.:7

Hi Karen. How are you?

Well, yesterday DH came home after work to find our shed had been ripped off of it's base and was butted up against our chain link fence just waiting for a good wind to take it away! Apparently we had some really strong wind by our house yesterday afternoon. So he had to fight against the wind to take the shed apart and secure the pieces so that they don't fly away until we find out how to dispose of them. The shed can't be reconstructed. The wind ripped it up pretty good. So now the contents of the shed are sitting on the base out in the open to be abused by the weather and picked off by any passer by that has the nerve to wander into our yard and take what they want! Great! lol Then we found out that we owe money on our income tax for the 2nd year in a row! Woo hoo! Talk about batting 1000, huh? lol

I didn't exercise last night....I just didn't have the motivation after all of that so I did some household chores, watched a little TV with DH and before you know it we were both asleep on the couch.

I will exercise tonight though!

Well, atleast my baby was very active yesterday and even this morning so he kept making me smile even when I was tee'd off last night about the shed and the taxes!

Hope you are having a good week! Sorry that my check in is such a downer. :-(

Have a great work out!

Hi Wendy!

Sounds like some excitement -- or not.x( Boy, that's too bad that all your stuff is out there like that -- sometimes, however, I almost wish I didn't have so much "stuff." Am seriously thinking of having a yard sale one of these days when I'm off deadline. I wonder if I'll ever be off some sort of deadline:+ Oh, well, keeps me busy.

Anyway, so sorry that all this has happened. If it's any consolation to you, we usually end up owing something on our income taxes. Being self-employed, it seems to come with the territory.;(

Taxes -- oh, what a dismal subject...

Anyway, did Muscle Max for the first time today and really liked it -- also noticed that it has a 56 minute TimeSaver on the DVD. I'm going to try that next time. Muscle Max was much like Muscle Endurance, but I'm still a bigger fan of ME, I think -- although we'll have to see -- these workouts seem to grow on me.

Have a wonderful day. Despite taxes and tariffs and such, have a simply terrific day.:7

Hi Karen. :+

I don't have a shed yet and I still owe the gov't $$$ but I am in better spirits tonight. I went after work and got a MUCH needed haircut. Made me feel a lot better. :) I also just finished my work out for the evening which always makes me feel good...did tri's and bi's from CTX:UBS and SJP's All step premix. Short work out today but that's okay...I still felt it! :7 Tomorrow is a full-length cardio w/o (45-60 mins) and then Saturday is something new...I'm gonna try the BC/ME bonus premix! }( }(}(

A yard sale...that's the pre-ebay way to sell your stuff! LOL :7

I'm feeling the baby move around A LOT the past few days...he must have really gained some size as of late...I can only imagine that the difference in how much movement I feel is due to his lack of room to move therefore I probably feel EVERY little squirm now where before he was small enough to move with my feeling it all of the time.:D I don't know that he'd be moving any more than he was just a week ago?? Eh--who cares...a fetus that is active is a fetus that is strong and healthy...or atleast this is what they say. I hope they are right!!!

Oh yes, BTW--thanks to you I have decided to give reading a shot...I had a gift card for Barnes and Noble still hanging around from Christmas so...being the internet shopping junkie that I am :+ ...I got on line and ordered 2 books with my gift card...I figure what better way to "explore" a new past time then when you don't have to pay for it right? lol

Well, it's time to hit the showers and then watch a little tv before bed. Have a great night/day/weekend, Karen!:)

Have a great work out!

Hi Wendy,

Wow! I'm really glad that you were able to get in a workout, even though it was short. And I'm thrilled to hear about the baby and his moving. Again, I find that so exciting. It so brings back memories of my own pregnancies. What a wonderful time of life.

Oh, I'm so glad to see that you're going to give reading a try. Sometimes I think they make reading so boring in school that people don't realize how exciting it can be...to me, so much better than TV. Right now I'm all involved in Harry Potter (reading it for about the 4th time) and of course I am just beginning to settle down to my own deadline. So, you'll have to tell me what genre (sort of stories) you picked. Were they mysteries? Or fantasy? Or Science Fiction? Or Romance? Anyway, hope you have a grand time.

For me, I did IMAX3 -- the whole thing -- this morning. That's one tough workout. I'd been doing the premixes of it -- shortened versions when I had so little time -- and even those were challenging.:+ But wow! It really makes you aware that you have just accomplished something.

BC AND ME mix. Sounds like a great combination. I think I missed something on the Intensity Series by just getting the tapes instead of the DVD's. I love Cathe's mixes.

Oh, well. The Intensity series remains my very, very favorite -- even though I'm liking Hardcore more and more as I do them more and more.:p

Have a great weekend, Wendy.

Hi Wendy,

Oh, baby furniture. What fun. Gee, how I loved that time of my life. I remember buying the rug that went in the baby's room -- we had hardwood floors in our apartment at that time. And buying the blanket for her bed -- she was a little older then. We also lived in a two story apartment -- and so I had a gate at the top of the stairs as the stairs were hardwood, too. My second daughter -- when she was no more than about 10 months old, figured out how to undo it...x( At the time, my heart sank as it meant she was no longer safe upstairs without heavy supervision, but now I look back on it and laugh.;)

Oh, I do so much know how you feel about missing a day of exercise -- unless it's one of those days you decided to take off.

Hope you had a happy Easter weekend. Ours was great!

Anyway, once you have a chance and the baby is born and all, I know you're going to love the IMAX's. They are among my favorites.

So, hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go -- whistle -- hi ho, hi ho.:+

Oh, it sounds like you ordered some great reads. Have fun.:7

Hi Karen!:)

I just finished Step Blast not too long ago-phew! What a work out!!!LOL }(

Doc appointment tonight went well-same as usual-weigh, measure, listen to the heartbeat...I was in and out like a shot! That's a good thing--means all is well with the little guy AND with his mamma!
:+ :+ :+

I look forward to being able to try IMAX 2! I also look forward to be able to attempt all of these cathe cardios that I have been doing at higher impact! I was prego when I started with Cathe so I have done them at extremely low impact from the beginning.

So how's the weather on the west coast? We had pretty much straight rain (quite heavy at times) from about 8-9pm last night straight thru for about 24 hours!!! We even had a short thunderstorm tonight! The sidewalk and street in front of our house looks like a big pond! lol Tomorrow is supposed to be warm (almost 60) and no rain...thank goodness. Aside from raining all day today, it was rather chilly. Nothing worse than being wet AND cold, you know?

Well, it's 10pm...time for me to think about heading for bed...by the time I get there it will be 10:30 so I need to start now! LOL

Have a great work out!

Hi Wendy,

That's great about the doc appointment. Keep it up, huh?

Yeah, I know you'll just love the IMAX's and all those cardios. Isn't it funny that you found Cathe when you were already pregnant -- what a find, though.:)

Weather here? It's been rainy here, too. We've had more rain here in the LA area than ever in the past. I think we've either tied or broken the record for rainfall this year -- and it's always cold here in LA when it rains. No warm spring showers here. When it rains, it's simply cold.

But I love it. I think today we had the Santa Ana's blow in -- first we had rain, then incredible winds -- usually the Santa Ana's (called the Devil winds) bring heat and dryness -- but I think today they ushered in more cold and of course, pollin...x(

It's late here, about 10:30 my time -- so very late your time. I think I'll wrap up work for today and get ready to call it a night.

Have a great one tomorrow, Wendy.:7

Hey Karen.:)

Gonna be beautiful here today! Wish I didn't have to work. x(

Going into NYC on saturday to see a show and wouldnt' ya know it, it's supposed to pour down rain and maybe even thunderstorm! Rain stinks and I am petrified of thunder and lightening so I give that a double x( x( !!! I am really looking forward to seeing this show too..."Wicked"...it's supposed to be excellent! Was in the city at the end of last summer to see "Mamma Mia"-that was a good show too. Very funny!

Well, after this week, I only have 5 more weeks of work until Maternity leave....WHOA! lol

Took it easy last night on my work out....used the Gazelle for an hour. I did circuits of 5 mins w/resistance and 10 min w/o. It was exercise w/o being super intense though I certainly felt it in my legs regardless! }( Tonight is PLB pyramid down only and maybe 30 mins of cardio if I'm in the mood...Tomorrow is scheduled to be a rest day as I am supposed to have company for dinner tomorrow night. Should be fun.

So I have started reading "Briget Jones' Diary"...entertaining but I have to read it slowly...it is written in a style much different from anything I have ever read so I'm not used to it. Hopefully by the time I get to the 2nd book I'll be more proficient!;-)

Okay, well, time for me to get on with my day....Hope yours is going well, Karen!

Hi Wendy,

Wow! What fun. NYC and a show. Wow. I love shows -- I'm not a very good fan of the movies anymore and I don't watch TV at all, ever. But shows! Wow! Have a really good time.:)

I bet you are looking forward to that maternity leave. I know I would be. ;) Gosh, time seems to be going kinda fast.

Anyway, sounds like you're still doing well with your workouts. I hope that you really enjoy the Bridget Jones reads. If not, remember there's a whole world of books out there -- and once you find something you really enjoy -- wow!

I'm not real fond of thunder and lightning either. It's funny cause in my story coming out later this year, my hero has a problem with the Thunder God (it's based on a Native American legend) and I had to write a sceen in a huge Thunder storm. It was kinda fun to write it, actually.:+ But it might be another thing to have to live that sceen.x(

Anyway, have a terrific weekend. Sounds like it'll be a real winner, no matter the weather.:7

I still like to watch a good movie though I must admit actually GOING to the movies is rare...we usually rent a video or order one on pay per view. TV is lame IMO too but I DO still watch it some. An average of about an hour per day is plenty for me. :)

>I bet you are looking forward to that maternity leave. I know
>I would be. ;) Gosh, time seems to be going kinda fast.

Oh, you betcha I am looking forward to my leave! Actually I do not intend to to return to work. Want to be a stay at home mom until my kid(s) are in school f/t.:+

>Anyway, sounds like you're still doing well with your

I am still pluggin' along on the work outs though they are getting increasingly difficult. I can feel myself slowing down but I won't give up!!!}( :D }(

I hope that you really enjoy the Bridget Jones

I am going to try different genres to see what I like. A book or 2 from any area that I think might interest me until I find my fave. My mom used to be an avid reader...still likes it just doesn't do it so much anymore since she discovered the INTERNET! LOL Anyway, she loved horror. Stephen King and the like. I read a couple of her books years ago...I wasn't really into the scarey thing though.

I am a total DORK when it comes to T and L storms! It can actually "cripple" me when it is bad to the point where I am afraid to do almost anything! AND the mere sight of the lightening startles me just as bad as a big clap of thunder can. I think I need therapy!:p

>Anyway, have a terrific weekend.

You too, Karen!:7

Hi Wendy,

I'm still thinking about that show that you're going to go see. What fun!

I'm really impressed that you're still doing your workouts. I know it'll pay off for you.

Gee, that's so funny about your mom and reading and the internet -- I must admit that I'm not much of a surfer. I get on to do email -- check Cathe -- and then go to work -- that's about all I use my computer for. I'm not what I would call superlit when it comes to computers.x(

Anyway, have a great day. By the way, I highly recommend Harry Potter, if you're not adverse to reading a bit about witches and wizards and magic. I actually find the books really enjoyable and have read each one perhaps four times through. Also Lord of the Rings, if you've never read that -- the books are so much better than the movies, by the way. The books have -- well, to my mind they have music -- and poetry -- loved those, too.

Anyway, have a great evening.:7

Hi Karen.:)

How was your weekend?

Well, the show was EXCELLENT! The weather stunk...and we hit bad bad traffic trying to get out of NYC but it was worth it. Great show! We stopped close to home after the show to pick up dinner. We ate as soon as we got home and that was the extent of my activity for the evening! I was sooo tired! I laid on the couch for a bit watching tv and was in bed by 9:30! lol That was saturday.

On Sunday I was out for several hours helping my mom with a garage sale...I got home from that about 4. Again, I was tired as heck for some reason. I laid in bed and watched tv until it was time to think about dinner. After dinner, I went BACK to the bed and tv set. Me! The one who doesn't like to watch tv all that much! lol That's how you know I was tired!

Now, this morning, I wake up at 4:30am and can't fall back to sleep! GRRRR! I usually get up between 6 and 6:30. I was out of bed at 5am this morning!

I've had an "off" past couple of days, can you tell? :p Well, hopefully my week does not continue on like this...I DO have to go to work and feeling like a truck ran over me all is week is NOT going to make me happy-lol.

BTW-Saturday was my scheduled rest day for exercise but yesterday was not and I just blew it off with out even a second thought-I just didn't have it in me. OOPS!

I truly think the pregnancy is just starting to wear me out again...they say the fatigue comes back in the 3rd trimester anyway...

Hope you had a more "ENERGETIC" weekend than I!

Have a good one!:)

Hi Wendy,

I'm glad that you enjoyed the show, but sorry you had to endure the traffic -- something that's an everyday occurance here in the LA area.

Reminds me of a story when I was pregnant and we were traveling and I had to go to the bathroom and we were in traffic and no way or place for me to go. It's the only time I ever considered such going in my pants -- couldn't do it, though. Had to hold it. Whew!:+

Anyway, I know what you mean about missing workouts. But you do have a valid excuse. You are pregnant.

Oh, by the way, have you seen the picts of Cathe when she was pregnant -- they're on her main page -- in the Intensity series stuff -- way at the bottom. How sweet of her to share them with us.:)

Anyway, a garage sale, huh? I bet you were tired. That's tiring, even when you're not pregnant.

Well, I hope that you take it easy today and don't overtax yourself at work. A bit of plain yoghart -- no sugar -- at night before you go to bed might help you to sleep a little better, as well as a couple glasses of water, followed by a grain or two of salt licked off your hand.

Just some nutritional ways to get a better night's sleep.:)

Anyway, have a great day. I'm off soon to do IMAX2.:7
