Okay, What's the story behind your Cathe name?

Great thread. A lot of people know the story behind mine, but I'll post it again.

I was doing search and rescue and picked out a dog specifically to train. That was Tucker, another Aussie (the one pictured now is Jimmy). I would be receiving a lot of email, so I set up a seperate account and decided to call it And Tucker Too or Andtckrtoo - because it was for me AND Tuck, even though he couldn't read (at least that I saw - he was pretty darned smart!). As it's not common, I use it on a lot of forums. It's really special to me now as Tucker was hit by a car speeding through our neighborhood on the wrong side of the road last year. So every time I type it I think of my special boy and smile.

I used to race motorcycles (road bikes - not dirt bikes). Big, impressive teams have sponsors, and sponsor names. My team was little ol' moi, but hey, I needed a name! I have a black cat (who is now 19!), so I came up with my team name of Black Cat Racing. Put little black pawprints all over my bike and was suddenly somebody that stood out (being one of the only two girls who raced, I was the girly one so the pawprints fit :) When email and screen names first got going in the mid 90's, I needed a clever name, so I came up with meowracer and have had it since for everything (and it is never already taken either!)

Great idea for a thread - I always wonder, too, how people come up with their names and what they mean.

Hey! Fun thread!

Around the time my DS was very ill and things in my life weren't going so well I knew a man. You can fill in that particular blank.

Anyhoo, I was talking to him one day and worrying about everyone and everything and trying to make sure everyone's needs were met.

He looked at me and said "It's your story too, Suzanne." Those words ultimately changed my life. So, I use it to remind me to try to keep some balance.

The 1267 are just my month and year of birth - I use this username here and there on the internet.

I haven't been in touch with that gentleman in many years now.

Just goes to show you how powerful words can be.

Christine,

I remember you telling us about Tuck. I was pretty new to the boards when that happened. I am so glad that you have that name and that you can remember him with a smile after such a tragic event.

About 10 years ago when I worked at Hollywood Video, I had a manager named Debbie. Every time I said her name, it sounded to me like I was calling her "Debber" for some reason, so I just started calling her Debber. She said she had to come up with a name for me, then. My name is Kirsten and she decided to call me "Kirspy" and it just stayed with me.

"tneah" is my nickname, my real name is Tiffany!:) My DH jokes around and calls me "taniqua" sometimes...when I met him, I had long, tiny braids to my waist..like three hundred of them...courtesy of one of my best friends who does braids like this, and Sally's Beauty supply, who provided the hair....I was very "bohemian" back then!;)

My mom was at my house while they installed my internet service years ago. She called me at work and said they needed a user name for email. Since my mom is into astrology and I'm a leo she suggested leo but I didn't like that so we came up with lioness. I love cats, big and small so it fit.

Aquajock IS my real name. I added the "Annette" when I became a paralegal for professional reasons.

A-Jock

Not too exciting but, Joey and I wanted a special name for our email address and came up with both our names in one word. He started with mine, cause he says I'm more important.

I thought that was so dear and sweet. But I know we are equal.

Janie

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

As I told TeTe, Beavs (for Beavis) is my nephew's nickname. I've called him that ever since he was three (he's nineteen now and still called Beavis, Beavs, or Beav-ass). He was a young eccentric little man with a flatulent oriented sense of humor and he makes me laugh much. I had always called him Beavis for those reasons but the name truly stuck when one day he was sitting underneath the dining room table when he was about three years old, causing trouble of some sort, and laughing saying "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvisssssssss!"

I'm Allison -- very few people actually call me Ally -- but it was nice and short...and 1966 is, of course, my birth year... Not *too* exciting!

Through my misspent youth and young adulthood I tried lots of addictions and just couldn't seem to commit to any of them. Discovering exercise was the perfect way to channel my penchant for an 'altered state'. A good hit of endorphins is something I can't get enough of and still thrills me from the inside out which, I suppose, makes me a junkie. Junkie might also refer to my inability to eat 'clean' for any length of time:+

I love this thread it's like Paul Harvey....'and now you know...the rest of the story' :)

Take Care
Laurie:)

Long and short of it...both of my parents are from the North, but I have lived in the Georgia most of my life and you can definitely tell by my accent. Every summer growing up we went North for vacation and all my relatives called me their Georgia Peach...thinking up my user name I thought about it and came up with Georgia Peach Fit (substituting Peach Fit for Peach Pit) ;)

TeTe - thank you! I have to smile - he was that special a dog. Jimmy's wonderful, too, though - I'm lucky with dogs.

pew are my initials before I got married and my nickname sometimes growin up. MY DH sometimes callme by that nickname and when we became pregant a few years ago he started calling me Mommaypew. So it's sentimental and while an inside thing between us I realy like it. Makes me smile everytime I see it b/c I can picture how my DH says it exactly to me everytime and I get all warm and fuzzy.:p

Mine is my DH's nickname for me with a our birthdates added to the end.

But, I was born and raised in a beach town so the sunshine truly does make me happy and just as blissful as a good workout ! :7

OK, since mine is *interesting* I'll join in!! It started as a joke when I was nursing my oldest dd, my dh would say that she drank out of the *jugs*. And my friends thought it was funny because yes, I am *well endowed*. (although no where near what I was before losing weight!) I had posted about it when I was posting on the playgroups at ivillage/ parentsplace and it just stuck. So when I joined in here, I just kept the same name because it's easy to remember! ;-)

I use this name for everything...email, screen names. I dont wear make-up so that's where the name came from. I wanted fake boobs at one point lol After having kids...well...I'll leave that alone but I decided against it so when people ask I just stress that woman can be beautiful naturally :7
