Lurkers Invitation 2010

Cheryl Yes, it is still really hot here, although the humidity is gone so it is not feeling as hot. And we are getting cool (60's-70's) nights and mornings. As of last week we had tied the record for most 90+ degree days in a year so we have probably beat it now. It's still supposed to be low 90's most of the week. I can't wait for my stainless steel mixing bowls. I'm going to throw out some of my old ones when they come. That is something that neither of you have had colds since you started using Norwex for cleaning. That woulkd definitely make it worth it!

Eunice Oh yes, I know what you mean about hurting to sit down! I like it better when I am not quite that sore :p No we didn't ski on Monday, we skiied on Sunday. It was good. I hope you aren't quite so sore today!

We decided yesterday to go ahead and cancel the Bermuda plans for now. The hotel is open and operating and said to come on and the airport opens today, but we figured we would rather go when they aren't trying to clean up after a hurricane. There are still parts of the island without power and the beaches had quite a bit of erosion from the storm. We're going to drive to Hilton Head, it's about a 5 hour drive for us.

I got a little confused with the rotation today. I had looked at the calendar yesterday morning and remembered that High Step training was on for today so that's what I did. When I went to mark it complete I found out I was supposed to be doing Gym Style legs. HST wasn't until Monday. Oh well, I'll be all messed up with vacation anyway and I don't have GSL. HST kicked my butt though  I hope everyone has a great Tuesday/Wednesday!

Pam

Walking Rolly and doing cardio of all types for this week of active recovery for STS first month.

Cheryl, Great job on 4DS LIS and MMA Boxing. Craming is better than not doing it. Very good job.

Eunice, What is 12 apostles? Great job on MMA Boxing. There are a lot of people doing that one. Must be popular. I know I love it.

Pam, So, so, so sorry to here about the hurricane ruining your plans for Bermuda. You must be very disappointed. Don't worry about confusing workouts, at least you did it. That's what counts. Very good job!

Janie

Janie Don't you just love active recovery week? And you will be all energized for meso 2!

This morning I was supposed to do MMA Kickbox but I did Mindy's Awesome intervals and med ball abs instead. I figured I already messed up the rotation with HST on Monday and we'll be leaving today so the rotation is shot for this week anyway! We have an accepted offer on my mom's cottage! I say Hooray, but then I feel bad since it will be sad to see it go. It is the right thing though and she has already said what a huge relief it will be for her. We just have to wait until next week to make sure they get their financing and then close at the end of November. I don't know how much I'll be here while wer're gone, so I hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't get back!

Pam

Rolly and I walked until we sweated profusely. It was fun.

Pam, I do love recovery week. I'm a cardio freak and enjoy it. Great job on Mindy's intervals and med ball abs. How was that? Yeah for your mom.

Have a nice rest of the day.

Janie

Hi Pam don't throw them send them to me:p I felt much better yesterday I did CCC and I was thinking of how cool would be if you were doing the same as me, I think you almost did!!! So sad that you couldn't go to Bermuda but good for you that you got to cancel I don't think you want to go and see a Island with out power, or getting cleaned up, so maybe next time, in the meantime I hope you get to have tons of fun:D:p Don't worry about the confusion still counts and you sure got a butt kicked!

Janie Twelve apostles ita a beach I think its a touristy place I hope we get to go this weekend, Oh yeah I love that one too. I cant wait for the new DVD's..

Pam I say hooray for you too!!! good news for you and you mom and you'll be sad but happy too! good job, well I hope you the best for you vacation, have fun!:p
Well yesterday I did CCC I think I did much better this time, last couple of times I couldn't finish some of the drill I did stop maybe a couple reps before Cathe, this one got me yelling I can't catch my breath so I have to scream, but I din't stop!!!:D so for today I think I'l do KPC so have a good day everyone!!!

Well I have had one of those weeks and I haven't worked out since Monday :(
Tuesday I had to stay late at work so by the time I got home it was too late to workout. Then on Wednesday DH decided he wanted to rearrange a room in the basement and guess which room he wanted to use to hold all of the stuff he was taking out of the room he was arranging!!!! That's right my workout room. So I finally have my room back so I can workout tomorrow. It is amazing after a couple of days off how I can feel the tension building. I see I missed Athletic Step today, I think I may do it tomorrow.

Eunice Sounds like you may need to buy some sweaters and heavy coats :D. I always think of Australia as being hot, though I know the weather can get really cool. I like MMA Boxing, have you tried the heavy bag workout? You can still do it without the bag.

Pam It is still really hot for you and it has cooled down a lot here. Yesterday was a really nice fall day but today and through the weekend it is just going to rain :(. I threw out some of my old bowls when I got my new ones. They are really nice. Too bad you had to cancel your Bermuda plans. I think it was the right choice, you want to go when you can enjoy the island and not worry about debris on the beach. I guess you have already left for Hilton Head, I hope you had fun. Congrats on selling the cottage. Hopefully all of the financing will go through. Even though it will be sad to see it go it must also be a relief.

Janie Sounds like you are getting a lot of exercise walking Rolly. Enjoy your recovery week.

Hope everyone has a great Friday Saturday.

Cheryl

Since it's been raining, Rolly perfers to potty in the house.:( He hates water, except to drink. Now I have to start all over again. He's on a leash at all times and every 3 hours I shove him out the doggie door. When he goes he gets praised, and back on the leash again. He's with me at all times, poor guy, but I don't know how else to do it. He has no freedom in the house until I know he will not potty. When I go out, he's put in the cage where there is water, food and a toy. I'm so disappointed.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( Joey hasn't been telling me, but this has been going on when it is raining. Shoot, so disappointed in Rolly. Will be taking him out in the rain on purpose so he will get more use to it. He's a Calf. doggie and is use to the sunshine I guess. On top of that I have a huge sore on my lip. Yuck, the kind you hide behind, it's that big! Did yoga today. Will start STS Meso 2 on Monday.

Eunice, Enjoy Twelve Apostles when you go there. Great job on CCC and even better for doing it better this time around. Improvement is always so sweet. You worked hard for it.

Cheryl, Sometimes life and husbands just get in the way of exercising. Don't worry. You can catch up. It's been less than a week, no problem.

Janie

Janie That has to be so fustrating. Is it because he doesn't like the rain and refuses to go out in it? I agree that you need to take him out in the rain so he knows it isn't that bad. It has to be hard on all of you to have Rolly on a leash all the time and checking to make sure he isn't going potty in the house. My mom used to get big sores on her lip all the time. Are you stressed with Rolly that could be why you have one.
I hope things get better for you.

Eunice Hope you enjoyed the Twelve Apostles.

Pam Hope you are enjoying your vacation.

Today was Athletic Step. It was so nice to have my workout room back.

Have a great Saturday Sunday everyone.

Cheryl

Took Rolly out when it was drizzling and also found a route that no matter how hard it rains there will be no puddles. All up or down hills, no level ground in the rain.

As soon as we got inside the house, I took Rolly off the leach and he immediately went to his favorite spot to poo. I caught him in the act and really yelled at him and let him smell his mess. He knew I was very upset with him. Why in the heck is he doing this? Well, maybe him knowing how upset I am will help the situation. I don't know.:( I'll let him in from outside the compound when I've got a chance to cool down.:( Leash will be a big part of his life for awhile I'm afraid and mine too.:(

Cheryl, I don't know what Rolly's problem is. It's way beyond me. We haven't done anything differently since we got him. I'm sooooo disappointed.:( I don't think I got the sore from the stress of Rolly. It happens on occasion. This time though, (this might be too much info) I wake up and my mouth is glued shut. That has never happened to me before. Ewwwwwwwwww and Yuuuuuuckkkkkkkk! Today is a little better.

Have a great Sunday everyone,

Janie

Janie Sorry but I don't have any words of wisdom for you about Rolly. It has to be very fustrating and not being able to figure out why he is doing it. Have you thought about posting this in the OD forum? There seems to be some knowlegable people over there that may be able to give you some ideas. I seem to remember that my Mom had the same problem as you with her lip. I think hers used to glue shut too.......yuck. That can't be much fun :(

Yesterday and today I did yoga. My lower back was really sore so I didn't think doing a leg workout would be wise. It seems to be much better now. Yesterday I had my Norwex party. It wasn't one of my best in sales but I did get some freebees.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Happy Monday or Tuesday.

Cheryl

Eunice I've been enjoying your pictures on FB. It looks like you are getting settled right in and having some good adventures too. Now if those weights would just arrive.......!

Janie So sorry to hear about Rolly's setback! I know that must be frustrating for you :( Potty training an animal is never easy but it just seems to be so much worse when they are there and then regress. I had the same problem with my cat. When we first got him we had the litter box upstairs and after a week or so moved it to the basement with the other one. Once we moved it he kept going in the spot where the litter box used to be! We got him all adjusted again, but after awhile I tried a different litter and it started again, only this time he was going in the guest bedroom and I didn't realize it right away ugh! It took a long time to break him of that. I hope you get Rolly retrained quickly!
Is the sore on your lip a cold sore? I used to get them all the time until my Doctor got me a Rx for Valtrex. It is a wonder drug. You take 4 pills when you start to feel that tingle of one starting and then 4 more 12 hours later and viola! No cold sore! I keep some on hand at all times.

Cheryl oh boy, what a week. At least your DH got things cleaned out of your wo room pretty quickly. Mine has a habit of starting a project like that but then getting bored with it and never quite getting it finished. He's got a project going right now painting the garage and we haven't been able to park in there for a wekk

Hilton Head was a great time! We got there on Wednesday afternoon and got settled into our townhouse, went to the store and got a few supplies and then went and had a really nice dinner. The restaurant that we went to is called Eat and is owned by John Irvine who is the host of a show called Dinner Impossible on the Food Network. I don't like his show but the food at his restaurant was great! The cool thing about Hilton Head is that they have beautiful paved bike paths that can take you wherever you want to go, so on Thursday morning we went out and rented bikes and hardly used the car the rest of the weekend. We probably rode 30-40 miles over the 3 days that we had them so that helped with all of the eating and drinking! The beaches were just beautiful - wide flat and the softest sand, and the weather was perfect the whole time we were there. There were sand dollars and star fish all over the beach, I've never seen that before! On Saturday while we were hanging out on the beach there were 3 weddings that took place right behind us! They were just one after another. We also did a lot of bike riding on the beach and went horseback riding one morning. It was a really nice little get away. Our condo was overlooking the 2nd and 6th greens of Harbour Town golf course, which apparently is a famous course according to my DH. It was killing him that he didn't have his clubs (or at least a putter) with him! Now it's back to the grind. I did High Step Challenge this morning. I was thinking I was being smart doing that one instead of HST since I messed up and did HST last Monday, but now I see HSC is on the agenda for later this week Guess I'll either do HST again or one of the wos that I missed while we were gone last week.

Janie and Cheryl, I hope you both have better weeks this week!

Pam

Rolly and I are right now having a meeting of the mines. He doesn't want to go potty outside and I want him to. He is on the leash, and take it off while he's put outside the doggie door. He just sits there. After about 3-5 min. I call him in and the leash goes back on. We'll do that every hour or so. So far he hasn't gone potty yet. How long can he wait? All night and it's almost 11 am in the morning. Jeesh. I will win, he will know this sooner or later.

Joey wants to stop the STS and do other workouts, one of them of course is TBS, so we did that this morning with heavy weights. Hey he lives here too, and if I want him to continue working out with me I have to do it his way every now and then. I'll pick one next and it won't be TBS. We also did one of the ab hits and a stretch with a stability ball. That was really nice.

Cheryl, I think Rolly simply dosen't want to be in the rain. But, he will learn how to pee and poo in it if it takes me months. And, it could take that long, considering it rains here a lot and we are almost in the rainy season here. It's just beginning to get rainy. There will be much more of it in October. Great job on those yoga workouts. I think I will do one just before dinner tonight. It sounds so wonderful. What kind of freebies did you get from your party?

Pam, I guess you call it a cold sore, but I don't have a cold. I'll look into Valtrex, thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like Hilton Head was a unique place to be. Love the idea of having bike paths where ever you want to go. Eat sounds like a cool experience. The beach horse back riding and the bike rides sounds so perfect. Great job on High Step Challenge. Whew!

Hi to everyone else and now that the weekend is over will be looking forward to hearing from you. I miss you guys!

Janie

PS It took Rolly until 1:30 pm to go potty for the first time since 7:00 pm last night, big praise and treat or was it because it stopped raining? He is so stubborn! But, I will be more steadfast and wait him out every time. So far I'm winning.

It seems he likes to go potty at different times from pee and poo. So a half hour later I let him out and he pooed. Big praise and treat. I use the leash as an umbilical cord and he is with me at all times, no free range until we nip this in the bud. I've noticed while he is sitting on the desk while I'm playing on the computer that he puts his paw on me and wiggles when he can't hold it any longer. Yeah! We'll keep this up until he gets the idea again.

Walked Rolly an hour in partial rain but mostly just wet ground.

Pam Yes DH knew I wasn't too happy losing my workout room so he made sure he had things moved out of there quickly. Mine can start a project too and not finish it. I think he gets overwhelmed with everything. It looked so easy at the beginning.....
Hilton Head sounds like fun. I have never seen the show Dinner Impossible but have seen it advertised. The paved bike paths would be great and I would love to go horseback riding. Did you ride the horses on the beach or did they have different trails for it?

Janie Yes you will win this fight..... You just need to be strong. Rolly will need to get used to the rain if he wants to live in the Pacific Northwest. I know it is raining here right now and it is suppose to last through tomorrow. He will finally realize that he doesn't have a choice. If he wants to do his business he will just have to get wet.
I am trying to remember all of the freebies that I got..... Let's see there was a microfiber mitt to wash the car, three microfiber cloths for washing off makeup (those work really well), a mesh bag for the laundry, a few more cloths for cleaning. There were a few more things but I have forgotten what they are because they needed to be ordered and I don't have the list here in front of me. I just love the products.

Today was High Step Training. Wow it has been a long time since I had done that one.

Have a great Tuesday, Wednesday everyone.

Cheryl

Janie You will definitely win the battle. How long did he hold out yesterday anyway? Sounds like quite the strong willed little guy!
It's funny that Joey likes TBS so much, but nice that he has a workout that he likes so much and will do. That's the most important thing The stability ball stretch sounds so nice!
I have always called them cold sores, although I would get them at random times. Often before a cold, if I was stressed about something, from getting too much sun, etc. Anyway, do check out the Valtrex. There is also an ointment that I used to use once they broke out called Zovarix (I don't think that spelling is quite right). It isn't as good as the Valtrex, but does help once you already have a sore.
OH - I just saw your update that Rolly finally went outside at 7:00 pm! Congratulations on sticking to your guns!

Cheryl For my DH I think it's more a matter of he gets bored with a project quickly. So he'll be all excited to start it but once the excitement dies down he doesn't want to finish it. I can live with the garage being a mess though.
No we didn't ride horses on the beach, we rode on trails in the woods. There were a lot of hiking trails and bridle paths in addition to the bike paths and we rode through a nature preserve. We mainly saw a lot of beautiful birds and one gator on our ride. I love High Step Training, but I can't decide which are worse - the hover squats or the sit and stands! Ouch!

This morning for me it was 40/20 and no equipment abs. I was very happy when I finished that last segement in 40/20. It was very tough this morning! No equipment abs is hard too. I'm glad to be finished! I hope everyone has a great Tuesday/Wednesday.
Shani Have we lost you?
Eunice Where are you?

Pam

Pam The hover squats and the sit and stands are equally evil...:D My legs were shaking after the sit and stands. It was 40/20 and no equipment abs for me today too. I knew I was in trouble when I had trouble getting the energy up for the warm up. For some reason I was really tired tonight. I did it although I had to modify some of them. I was glad to get it finished too.

Janie I hope things are going better with Rolly.

Have a great Wednesday Thursday everyone.

Cheryl

Was a fine mist today and able to walk Rolly for a couple of hours in it. We enjoyed it very much. Sweaty but fun. Rolly is still on a leash for awhile yet, but hey, no accidents.

I discovered another instructor that uses lots of reps in her exercises. The DVD's are Dove's Bodies Total Body Workout 1-4. I have 3 and 4, and they are much much better than Jerri Love's DVD's, not even close. These workouts are amazing! I'll be doing the 3rd vol. of hers tomorrow. After Joe's and my Firm Vol. 1 workout. Dove is not new to instructing, she's been on the market for a very long time, but I didn't realize how good she is. She teaches her method at her own studio. Many well known people take those classes, she is very sought after and I can see why.

Cheryl, Sounds like the party you had was worth it with all the freebies you got. Great job on the HST. Rolly is doing better, but I'm not ready to let go of the leash for awhile yet.

Pam, Rolly held out for 18 hours. I know! I'll check out those ointments, they sound like great things to have around the house, just in case. Great job on 40/20 and abs.

Have a good one everyone. Hey, where is everyone else?

Janie

Cheryl Cathe really packed it all in the last week of this rotation didn't she? Holy cow, 40/20, HST, HSC, BC, Imax! I am going to be ready for Sunday! It's never good when thewarm up is hard to get through, but even worse when it happens and you have 40/20 to get through. Good job on making it through!

Janie So glad to hear that you and Rolly got a good long walk AND that he hasn't had any more accidents! I'll have to checkout Dove's workouts!I am not a big fan of Jari Love's workouts. I have a couple of them but have only done each of them a couple of times. I don't think her personality helps much, she doesn't seem very warm.
I agree, where is everyone else?? Eunice, Shani, Kelly??! Hello?!

This morning was Boot Camp. I'm always happy to get done with the squat thrust climbers when I do that one. It was my favorite workout for awhile and I was doing it all the time, but this was the first time I've done it in awhile so it was fun to do. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday/Thursday!

Pam

Hey, where is everybody?! This morning was CTX Leaner legs. I'm pretty sure I've never done this one before! This rotation sure has a lot of leg and ab work! We have been getting rain since Sunday - I think we are making up for our drought all at once! It's finally supposed to be sunny tomorrow, I can't wait! I hope everyone has a great Thursday/Friday

Pam

Yesterday walked Rolly and Did The Firm Vol. 1 with Joey. Plan on walking Rolly today and clean bedroom, getting rid of clothes I don't wear anymore.

Pam, If you like endurance workouts, Dove is the way to go. Well beside our beloved Cathe, she's the best way to go.;) Great job on Boot Camp and CTX Leaner Legs. I bet you have an Ouch factor by now.

Take care everyone and have a nice one Today.

Janie

So yesterday when I got up my back was sooooo sore I could hardly move  I made it to work and jeans and runners was my work attire since I wasn't getting anywhere close to heels. I also thought that if my back decided to go out and I fell to the floor I would rather do it in jeans and not a skirt. I hurt all day long. This morning when I woke up same thing but I decided to take a sick day. I was bummed because my back was acting up and this was the first sick day I had taken for at least 1 1/2 years. I flipped my mattress over on Sunday so I am not sure if this was the problem or not. Today we flipped it back over so I am hoping that my back won't hurt too much. So much for my workouts for the rest of the week. It looks like I will be doing lots of stretching to try to get my back right again.

Janie Sounds like things are getting better with Rolly? No accidents is a good sign. I have never heard of Dove. I will have to look her up. I always get a lot of freebies when I have a Norwex party. That is how I have accumulated so much of their products.

Pam Cathe really did pack it in this week didn't she. Too bad I can't finish it :(. I was looking forward to boot camp except for those squat thrust climbers

I'm with Janie and Pam......where did the rest of you go???????

Have a great Friday Saturday.
