Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for October 2021

This morning I did the new on from Nourish Move Love - a Full body strength and added on her standing abs workout. I like the moves in this workout even though she called it a first trimester workout it was still good moves.

Anybody planning to check out BODI - the new interactive beachbody? I might be up for trying the new workouts but I don't think I want to be on-screen for anyone to watch me workout!!

Today there will be NO workout. I have the head cold that my husband and son away at school have and I am not going to push it so I get the flu. Both my husband and son went yesterday to get a Covid test and they do NOT have it, we just have some sort of sinus, cough, chest congestion and headache sort of thing. I am sitting under my infrared light right as I am typing and it should help. I feel like I could workout no problem but what if it makes it worse. I am downing a ton of vitamins, C, Oregano Oil, B, Zinc, Cayenne, Ginger, Garlic, and so much more. The man taking the Covid tests said whatever is going around mimics Covid but it is not Covid. Also, my husband said a bunch of people at his work are getting False Positives, they go to another place and then get a negative result. I will bundle up today and sit under my lamp as much as possible and hopefully I nip this thing ASAP.

Debbie, great job on the workout today, that one looks fantastic! I hope you feel better soon too!

Doreen, nice workout today. I do not think that I will do that BB workout, I am going to stick with P90X and Caroline Girvan for awhile since it is free.

BBL to read the posts for the day. Stay healthy!

Had my virtual appointment with my primary doctor today. He wants me to get a chest x ray tomorrow and see him on Monday. He wants to sent me to a pulmonologist at the hospital. I have that cough for almost 3 weeks.

Debbie - I am still here. I took a short walk with Sadie and DH today. Felt great being out in the sun.
Thanks for the prayers.

Diane - I don't like MTX either. I had to stop taking MTX this week , hopefully it doesn't backfire on me.

Today I did CDorner Step Aerobics Intermediate #156, 52 minutes, 304 calories, heart rate 140/172, 4,617 steps. I had previewed CDorner Total Butt and Legs no squats, lunges, or jumping and did the first part that was warm up and all standing band work plus some superman moves which I did with my arms down at my side rather than extended. I stopped here as that is when she starts doing deadlifts and moved forward to some bridge work. The weight work is not too long and she goes to some floorwork and abs. What I did was 17 minutes, 64 calories, heart rate 110/157,659 steps. I guess she is having problems with a knee and designed the workout around that. She said she was going to see a doctor, but knew it was not something serious, but being careful. She used the light fabric band. The step workout was fun with fun music choices and she had several others working out with her by a pool.
Total time was 69 minutes, 368 calories, 5,276 steps.

Debbie, I hope that you are not getting sick. I take zinc capsules every day. I don't no what happened to my zinc capsules and magnesium powder that I ordered from Amazon 11 days ago. I had to buy from Whole Foods. Amazon said they shipped right after I ordered as they were supposed to be 1 day shipping. Then they stopped somewhere and never moved on. It says I can get a refund, but if they arrive then I have to mail them back so I keep waiting for them. The workout looks great. I saw that Chris was taking 4 days off and put up stuff for everyone even though she is taking a break. Has the PT given you some ideas of how you can handle those knots yourself?

Doreen, nice work today. I haven't looked at Beachbody for awhile. Now way would I want people to see me work out. Same reason I won't go to a gym. I would feel like I had to fix my hair and do make up to do the work out LOL. My morning look leaves a lot to be desired.

Jolie, get better. It is sad that every time we feel ill, we start worrying that it is covid. Those covid quick tests are not that accurate. Keep up the vitamins and stuff and get plenty of rest. One of the ladies in my game group was sick and thought it was a sinus infection. It got better and then went worse. She finally got checked and not covid, she had pneumonia.

Belinda, I hope you get better soon. I hope that the chest x ray helps. I see a pulmonologist for lung nodules periodically. I don't know what happened to the day when we just saw one doctor. But, I guess specialists know there field a lot better. Same as my daughter thinking I should see a orthopedic doctor for the shoulder as she says they would know how to take care of it better than the arthritis doctor. I will wait a bit. I think I have been getting heart CT's for the lung nodules though. I had a receptionist try telling me I would not be getting a heart CT for the nodules and she could not find my appointment, then after many calls I ended up getting the heart CT. They saw the lung nodules when I went for the first heart CT when my primary care sent me there to check my arteries.
I wish that they could find you something different than MTX that would work for you. I know it is a learning and trial trying to find the right thing for your condition.

Today I did Penny Barnshaw 45 min Strong No Repeat Full Body Dumbbell and Body Weight Strength. I substituted a couple moves. Can't do her version of Turkish get-ups and I don't like them at all.

Doreen, glad you found a way to entertain your pup so you can workout. We do the same thing with our dog. We get a Kong and break up a biscuit with a little peanut butter and stick it in the freezer. It takes her awhile to finish it and we can eat in peace. My daughter had the same problem with her Fitbit.

I hope everyone feels better soon. A lot of colds and flu going around.

No workout today, I still am not feeling very good and my ears are sort of blocked. I also don't have time for personals as I am doing a training and had to get to work early. I really wanted to stay home. :(

Have a great weekend everyone!

Since you all have been doing Caroline Epic III I tried (I thin) Day 4 today - Full body complexes. I really like that format, 2 exercises 10 reps and you just keep alternative between them for 3 minutes. Doesn't take a lot of brain power to figure out what is coming next, ha! I don't have much brain power these days!

Debbie, Belinda, Jolie - I hope you all are feeling better soon!

Hi,

I had my chest X-ray done today. Now I am waiting for the results. Still coughing up a storm. After the x-ray DH and I went for a short walk. Need to move my legs a little.

Debbie - I hope you feel better soon. Ear infections are no fun.

Diane - I am glad you getting great care too. MTX been know to work well for RP. It stops my body from attacking itself. There are other meds for RP out there, as you know RP is a rare, no cure autoimmune disease. Not enough studies have been down since it's so rare. It's a hit or miss with meds. The idea is to slow the disease down. There is no cure for RP. There isn't really any special medication for the disease either. I hate taking MTX, I hate all the medications I take for RP. I have no choice but to take it. There isn't any other way around it. Eating a vegan diet isn't helping it either.

I will be back later.

Good morning,

Caroline SUPER Full Body Workout - Dumbbell Supersets | EPIC III Day 19 is done. Got up early to get my workout in today. Sadie has an appointment with the groomer today.

I will be back to catch up on personals.
How does Caroline's workouts compare to Cathe's?

No workout today, I am sick and tired feeling, very congested with a light cough. My husband had to take another Covid Rapid test to go back to work yesterday since quite a few people have Covid at his work, it came out positive. He told the owner he does not have Covid so they told him to go to a doctors office and get a regular test and to also test to see if he had the antibodies. This test came out negative. The doctor said that if you are sick with a cold or flu and take a rapid test, it will come out positive. Wow, that is why the Covid numbers are so high. All the people taking the rapid tests while sick with something else and it comes out positive, this is just mind boggling to me. My husband has been feeling bad since our drive home on Sunday and is now starting to feel better, he has gone to work each day so I should feel good by Monday I am hoping. I have been hungry so I do not feel too weak since i am getting in some nutrients and my supplements.

Debbie, I hope you can get some rest this weekend and feel better soon. I slept 11 hours last night because I was woken up so many times not breathing well from all of the snot! Also, my joints hurt and I was achy but today I do not feel that way.

Belinda, I hope your chest x-ray comes back good! Take care of yourself.

Doreen, nice job with the Caroline Garvin workout today!

Cam, great workout yesterday!

Diane Sue, great job with the CDonner workout yesterday. I bought Thai food yesterday and put a ton of hot chilis on my food and boy did that open up the sinuses lol! I am taking a lot of Cayenne with Ginger too and boy does that work too.

Make it a great day even if you feel like crap!

How does Caroline's workouts compare to Cathe's?
RubySue78, Caroline's weight lifting workouts are slow and controlled unlike Cathe's that are fast and can cause some people injuries. Caroline focuses on heavy weight where Cathe's newer workouts and Live workouts go at a faster pace, lighter weights and more metabolic type moves. Hope that helps! Preview them on Youtube.

Hi Ruby, Caroline's workouts are heavy weights, slow pace. Her workouts are very controlled. I really like her workouts. Cathe's are high reps, light weights. Caroline has a huge follower on YouTube. Plus her workouts are free.

Today I did Jessica Smith Walk On: Dance Walk workout 2, 33 minutes, 191 calories, 137/174 heart rate. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Glute Finisher standing portion, 11 minutes, 64 calories, heart rate 143/161, then I did Boss Loops glutes and core warm up, standing work, and stretch, 26 minutes, 135 calories, heart rate 132/163. Total time was 70 minutes, 390 calories. I also did some rolling and stretching as well.

Cam, good job with Penny Bradshaw Strong. I used to put treats in toys for our dogs to keep them busy and from not chewing up everything. Funny thing is we had one toy that a treat got stuck in and you could hear it rattling around inside. One of my grandchildren years later messed with it till they got the treat out of it. I am sure the dog was a bit frustrated.

Debbie, I hope you can fight this off and feel better soon. Hope you can get rest this weekend.

Doreen, nice work with Epic III today.

Belinda, I was hoping that you would get the chest x ray results back right away. I know your doctors are doing the best they can for you. They are giving you really good care. I don't know about diet. I think we know what makes us feel bad when we eat it. Common sense tells us to not eat lots of sugars and bad fats. I have not got any of those sensational good results I read about on different types of diets. All in all eating lots of fruits and vegetables should be main part of the diet with smaller amounts of the other foods for health. You are doing the very best you can for yourself.

Jolie, I had the feeling that they have lots of false positives with the quick test. I hope you all get well soon. Interesting that a cold or something else can give the false positive. I am glad the other test came back negative. I always make a cayenne drink with lime juice, honey, tumeric, vinegar, and fresh ginger and some hot water. Chris Kressor had posted that on one of his emails I get once and I do it whenever I feel under the weather. I also pick up cayenne shots quite often, Khor and Vive both have some pretty strong shots that I got from Whole Foods when I was sick. I love Health Aid Kombucha in Cayenne Cleanse. They started getting some at Whole Foods which made me happy. I also get the lemon ginger.

I am going to do Flex Train this morning. I've only done this once since I bought it this summer. I don't remember it, but I think I liked it. I am enjoying a lot of her metabolic workouts and PHA'S.

I really want to like Caroline's workouts as everyone is getting great strength results, but I just don't wanna do them. Maybe I am afraid of a setback, or they are too slow paced and repetitious for my tastes. I also like a little cardio with my weight work. I guess I'm at a stage in my life where I don't feel the need to lift that heavy. I need to not feel like I am missing out on something. Anyway, thanks for letting me talk it out. Ha! I am such a weirdo.

Hope everyone is feeling good today and have a great weekend! Fall has set in here, but plan to get some good walking in today. Cool but sunny.

Today I did CDorner step workout from today #157 which froze halfway through(wasted time trying to get it to start up again) then did her #156 that I did a couple of days ago forwarding past the warm up and first part so Step together was 65 minutes, heart rate 137/175, 370 calories, 5,552 steps. I also did Step BOss Chair Stretch, 16 minutes, 29 calories. Total time was 81minutes, 399 calories, 5,552 steps.

Cam, I hope that you enjoy Flex Train today. I like metabolic workouts sometimes as I get the heart rate up some why getting in weights. What I do not like is a lot of them want to do overhead weight work while doing the lower and I have never cared much for that. Feel free to talk it out. That is what we are all here for. I think I will have to go slowly getting back to 15 and 20# dumbbells. If it happens. Just picking them up is too much right now.

Sending well wishes out to all of you.

Oh Diane, I hate it when YT freezes up in the middle of a workout. Ugh! I say a lot of naughty words. I wouldn't over do it with weights. It's not worth making things worse.

I really got a good upper body workout with Flex Train. She does go too quickly with a lot of the moves, so I just went at a slower pace, especially with shoulder work. I couldn't do all the tricep work. Just too much right now. I did plank kickbacks for the first time since surgery and almost did a face plant when I put my weight on the left and eventually my arm gives out. But I will keep at it. Little bit at a time.

Today I did CDorner Low Impact Cardio no jumping "walking" ( really it is just a low impact workout with fun music), 32 minutes, 201 calories, heart rate 145/175, 3,971 steps. I then did some Stretches and moves from Dr Joe on youtube.

Cam, I think it is best to not move weights around fast when doing those moves as shoulders are pretty vulnerable. I am leaving plank work out right now. Particularly when it comes to weights. I wish I did not have to though as a lot of ab work does plank moves and even yoga.

Hi,

I went for a short walk with Sadie today. I had the x-ray as far as I can tell they couldn't find fluids in my lungs. Not sure why I am coughing? I see my doctor tomorrow. I had an MRI done on my shoulder/neck yesterday.

Debbie - how are you doing?

Diane - Friday I got the x ray's results online. No fluids in my lungs. Not sure why I still coughing like crazy?

Doreen - yes, I signed up for the RT. I can't wait to hear what Cathe has planned for her next workouts.

Cam - have fun with your workouts. I like Caroline workouts for the reasons Diane said. I am have a shoulder injury the pace is perfect for me and I am seeing great results.

Roslyn - how are you doing and your mom?

Roxie - hope you doing well.

Julie - glad your husband and son are ok.

Good night.

Belinda, I guess that is good that your lungs were clear. Sometimes those crazy coughs seem to hang on for a long time. At least that happens to me. I hope you get the MRI results soon. If I remember right my last MRI results took two days. The main doctor that owns the arthritis center reviewed the films from my neck and shoulders himself and conferred with other doctors on it. At least when you get them back maybe you will know what you are dealing with there. I know we burn extra calories with those fast paced weight workouts, but I would rather do a short aerobic workout and slow weight work separate to save my joints.
