Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2020

This morning I did Ripped and Ride Oct 2019. I did the workout up to the stretch and then rewound and did the first 2 weight/cardio rounds for a bit of a longer workout. I like this one. I like the kneeling one arm rows.

This morning I did R&R February 2019. Had fun, loved this one but the music sucked.

This one was 1 minute intervals with weights and a Kettlebell. The cardio varied from 3-4 minutes.

Warmup on treadmill

Hammer Curl/Alt. Arnold Press: 10's
Squat w/Twist Knee: 10's but then dropped weight
Double Arm KB Swing: 15#

Jogged on treadmill

Squat/Front Shoulder Lift: 10#
Quarter Back Throw: 5# (I can't believe she did this with 10#)
Figure 8 KB: 15#

Jogged on treadmill

Alternate Lunge and Row: 10's
Plie/drop weight then pick up: 10's
Double Arm KB Swings: 15#

Jogged on treadmill

Bench Press: 12's
Bridge/Pullover: 12# then no #
Skull Crusher/Sit-Ups: 10#

Pullovers still feel like they will hurt me. I dropped the weight when I felt it pull.

Workout was 42 minutes, burned 274 calories, HR was 124/166 and did 3400 steps exact.

Have a little tightness and pull in my upper right trap, I need to work that out tonight. Frustrating. But all in all, I am feeling much better.

I agree with the Coronavirus. It is really playing a number on my events from now until the end of the school year. I will probably have to either cancel or reschedule several of them. We have cases here in Ohio but none in the county I live in. They are talking about cancelling school for two weeks. What the heck for? No one knows if this is going to be gone in two weeks. So stupid. Plus kids aren't getting it, it's all people over 50 with low immune systems. Yesterday's concert went great but I had one parent get in my face about why we didn't cancel the event, said all kinds of ignorant things and he had gold teeth. OMG. Just go away. No one else complained. There is always one to ruin it for everyone.

Have a great workout everyone. Be back later.

Today I did Meso 1 disc #11, Back and Triceps and had a great workout. I have now completed Meso 1 and by am I stronger because of it! I really enjoyed this meso, not sure if I will repeat it or not. Todays workout was 1 hour 5 minutes because I put some ABS at the end since Cathe does not incorporate them into these workouts. I burned 378 calories. I did not do any rowing or walking because my knee is still sore and I don't want to irritate it. I am wondering if I have a torn Meniscus? I do have a lot of the symptoms but it is probably Tendonitis of the Patella tendon. I ordered some Patella straps for support and some Tape to see if that helps. I had this happen about 10 years ago, boy is it a pain to deal with. I think I have inflammation as well and that is causing the pain. It is a lot better since I had my knee, leg and ankle adjusted the other day.

Debbie, great workout today. There is always one bad apple that likes to spoil something for everyone. Ignore that jerk! They are going to close my sons University to online classes only. I hope they cancel my sons high school, maybe he could graduate!!!!!! I could get him a tutor to help him at home and make him do the work!

Doreen, way to go on the workout today. I too would like to know the instructor that lead that workout that Roxie did today. Have you ever done any of Autumns workouts from Beach Body? I have the 21 day fix but have never tried it. I just might have to pull it out and give it a try.

Diane Sue, I know about these viruses, I am a little worried for my parents. My mom is 84 and my dad is 86. Both have good immune systems but you never know with this one.

Belinda, I hope you have a good workout today. What are you going to do for your recovery week? I am not going to take one. I am going to keep going :)

BBL to read your posts, I have rain all day today and for the next 8 days :(

This morning I did Walk Strong 3 Lower Body 31 minutes, heart rate 93/120, 61 calories, 621 steps. I then did WS3 Boogie it, 30 minutes, heart rate 122/160, 146 calories, 2,929 steps and WS3 Barefoot Cardio Core, 32 minutes, heart rate 112/140, 136 calories, 2,296 calories. Total time 93 minutes, 5,846 steps 343 calories.
I was on the fence about doing the Bookie workout since I had read a reviewer on Amazon that said they did not like it much and then when I started she said it has agility drills in it. I liked it and I generally do not care for agility work like Cathe and Beach Body has had. It was not hard complicated agility work. Just some switching turns and stuff that you had to think a bit about. I thought the weight work would have been more calories than that since it does have a little cardio based movement in it and uses the small step platform with risers or not using one. I used it with 1 riser after starting with 2 on the warm up and decided when I previewed I should probably go lower if I wanted to use heavier weights. With Barefoot Core they use a playground ball. I used a 5 lb soft med ball for some of it when they are not doing overhead moves.
Lower Body
Suggests 3 sets of dumbbells light, medium, heavy just like upper depending on fitness level. I used 15# dbs throughout on weight moves. They have a modifier doing it without the step, Jessica, and another doing the more intense version
group 1
squat off side of step ,lunge back off step, then squat and lunge alternating 15# dbs I believe each is around 16 reps
single leg deadlift 15's
break is standing hamstring curl and hip lifts all on right then all on left then alternating both
repeat all moves on the other side
Group 2
goblet squat 16 reps 15# db (could have went heavier but worried about tension on my shoulder)
side lunge/ lateral leg lift 1 dumbbell 15# 8 reps right and 8 left
break is speed skate 8 on each side
repeat all on other side
Group 3
balance on 1 foot toe tap off to side of step not touching down 15# dbs 16 reps
plie on toes weights on thighs move to standing repeat 15# dbs 16 reps
repeat on other side
Group 4 floor mat
bridge lift walk out on heels and back 3 or 4 times
star side plank lifting 1 arm up and raising leg and hip
repeat on other side

I told my husband last night that I was going to bed and did not hear anything about that virus anymore. Seriously, the media is making me crazy. Just let our leaders and medical people take care of this. My e- mail was full of warnings last night. Even PetSmart sent something about corona virus.

Roxie, I hope they get your computer issues fixed. Is it computer or internet problems?

Doreen, I remember liking the kneeling one arm rows too. Nice work and adding on to lengthen the workout.
Debbie, I think the later Raw workouts have better music on most. Kelly does listen to the ladies on likes and dislikes on her workouts. 10# does seem like a lot for that quarter back throw. I went lighter on that one too. I am hesitant on the pull overs. When I do them I go lighter and do not pull over so far back. I know Kelly does tend to go back pretty far and I have seen Cathe do it too. I remember some instructor, Tony Horton or Sagi?? mentioning not going back so far because it can be hard on the neck. I went through a lot of workout sheets recently trying to find one that Cathe or Kelly did that works upper well and leaves out the pullovers and not so much overhead stuff. Let alone as I keep reading about shoulder joints and their being the most vulnerable joint that relies heavily on the structure around them to work, and pull ups and overhead moves are hard on that joint. Now to figure out how to strengthen what I need to for that joint!
That parent should have stayed home if they had a problem with the event being scheduled. At this point I think people do not need to stop living their lives and they have no idea how long this virus is going to be around. I heard them talking about warm weather slowing it down. Just like the flu virus.

Jolie, I hope that you do not have a torn meniscus. Depends on the tear, but sometimes they heal on their own with rest. I think I did not let mine rest enough. A few days and it felt better and I would go back and do a workout, thinking a light workout would be okay. Then I would be back to square one with the pain. Even with surgery though, that knee acts up if I put it through too much. But then Rhuematoid arthritis was found as one of the first things in my diagnosis as in my knees. It is always hard to decide how much is enough to help the joints be strong and not do too much. I think they said yesterday that they were probably going to stop all of our basketball games from letting people watch. Just the players will play their teams or something like that. Someone was exposed at a game, maybe? That was what I got from the news anyway. Most elderly people are not out as much though. Although I go to church and ladies days and the occasional grocery store. We have a lot of 80 + people in our church that have health issues, so this could be bad for them. Funny, I usually wash all fruits and veggies when I bring them home and cans are rinsed before I put them in the cupboard. When I got my order from Whole Foods Monday, I even repackaged the deli lunch meat and meats that were paper packaged. A lot of people touch those boxes, cans and produce in the stores. I just cleaned more of it than usual.

Roselyn, nice work on the supersets.

Good Evening,

They cancelled classes at both of the major universities here in Kansas and now the schools are considering closing its just ridiculous and we have one pharmacist that is totally freaking out over the whole thing the rest of us just laugh. I didn’t get off work until after 6 and home at 6:30 so no workou.

Our schools are on an extended spring break for the next three weeks. I had to cancel several of my events. I am so sad about all this. How can something like this even happen? China and their damn population control. No one can tell me that isn't what they did. They've done it before and they are doing it again and someone should be held accountable for it.

Today I did RAW Boxing and Drills and had an excellent workout I was finally able to give it mostly all I have, I did not feel any tightness or pain. So happy about that!! I think this is finally almost over. I still have one spot on my upper right trap that is tight and feels weird. Not sure what is wrong there. I love the music in this workout and it is so fun.

Workout was 30 minutes, I burned 225 calories and did 2959 steps. HR was 137/166.

Then got on my treadmill for about 16 minutes to finish out my workout hour. Stretched a bit, too.

Stay healthy everyone!!

Everything is canceling for my kids... starting with an extended spring break next week one week early. My son's robotics competition is cancelled for the season - they spend thousands of hours and dollars building a robot for competition and it is all cancelled. They were supposed to go compete in Denver and Idaho. My daughter's volleyball season is postponed until April 6th. Volleyball tournaments for this weekend are cancelled..... I'm trying to understand but I have to confess it is hard.

I did the #288 Hooked on PHA this morning. I really enjoyed this one. Some moves from the latest DVD - at least one move I have never seen her do before and snatches (my favorite). Very metabolic because some of the moves were almost cardio moves.

Because the media blew this up to a panic and now we are dealing with the consequences. H1N1 was worse and nothing was cancelled for that. Ridiculous.

Today I did Walk Strong 3 Cardio Interval Sculpt using 5 and 8 # dumbbells, 93 calories, 32 minutes, 99/135 heart rate, 1,198 steps. This was a bit much for my shoulder today. Too much overhead stuff and the floor stuff was rough. That will have to wait awhile for doing again. I Then did Walk on fast fat blasts ( a free workout I think) 84 calories, 15 minutes, heart rate 129/152, 1,646 steps. I followed this with the WS3 add on abs, 16 minutes, heart rate 85/102, 19 calories, 99 steps and finished with WS3 yoga stretch stopping after the standing portion, 18 minutes, 22 calories, 68 steps, heart rate 86/104. Total time was 81 minutes, 218 calories, 2,844 steps.
I have not purchased Walk Strong 3 yet. A friend loaned me hers for a couple of weeks. I will probably purchase soon though. I think it would be a good addition to what I have. I liked the upper and lower strength workouts a lot. Everything I have done is good other than I need to watch the shoulders in the one I did today.
I ordered groceries delivered from Walmart last night. They are supposed to arrive today. It seems most items were available. I guess I will know for sure when they arrive. I ordered Aquafina Water Packs and they showed available. There were a few unavailable things like regular Spam. Yes, I buy Spam for my husband, but the smoke flavored was available. Maybe most people don't know there are different flavors??

Roxie, I don't know why a pharmacist would freak out over the virus. Is it because they do not have meds or just they are afraid of the sick people? That is what they are a pharmacist for.

Debbie, I really do have fun with the Boxing and Drills workout. I know, we have spring break starting next week and some of the schools took yesterday off too. Hopefully they come up with something and the virus dies down soon. I have seen my Fitbit not show a heart rate once in awhile again. I need to search that out and see what causes that.

Doreen, what a disappointment for the children. Since we have a hard time understanding it would be understandable for children to not understand why.

Today I did STS D12 legs. It was my last workout in M1. Next week I take my recovery week and see how my knees feel.

I went to Costco last night, they were out of toilet paper and paper products.

Debbie - I agree with you.

Jolie - I will take a recovery week next week and move on to M2. You probably be done with STS in half the time, lol.

Great job on your workouts today.

I was expecting a grocery delivery from Walmart and at first it showed they were preparing it, then suddenly it said it was cancelled!! My husband called the store and they just gave him a number saying they did not know why. He called the number and after a long wait they told him that they were getting a lot of calls about cancellations and said it was because of the Covid virus. So, I just ordered again for pick up. Some of my items are no longer available. The bread wasn't available and the only bread I could find was Pepperidge Farm country white for my husband's sandwiches. Pork and Beans were gone.

Belinda, I sure hope I get my toilet paper by tomorrow evening. I am running low. This is ridiculous.

This morning I did #287 Kickboxing and LI hiit. But after 30 minutes or so of Kickboxing she was going to move to LI hiit and I wasn't feeling it.... so I switched and did 30 minutes of Step Express Live instead.

Today I did some more Walk Strong 3 workouts. Not many calories though, but much more work than one would think. I did Tone and Flow which I really liked as it kept moving, I used 5# dumbbells, 32 minutes, heart rate 86/124, 74 calories, 1,049 steps. I followed with Barre Sculpt and was really surprised at how different it was since she incorporates dumbbells (I used 5#) and a play ball or pilates ball, heart rate 90/126, 31 minutes, 62 calories, 787 steps. I finished off with the floor portion of Yoga Stretch, 13 minutes, 14 calories, 82/99 heart rate and the 15 minute Total stretch which I added a bit to so was 18 minutes, 75/85 heart rate, 17 calories, 19 steps. Total time today was 94 minutes, 169 calories, 1,869 steps.

The grocery delivery was not good. I was missing half of my stuff because it was not available. Why they let me choose it is beyond me. No water or toilet paper :( I ordered tuna and I didn't get that. I like to make low carb wrap tuna and veggie wraps for lunch. It is so frustrating not being able to go out. I would probably have checked other stores if I could. I was going to make chili and there was no chili beans available.

Roselyn, good work on live legs.

They just closed all our restaurants and bars until further notice. So what are all these workers supposed to do? That is how they pay their bills! They said the restaurants can do curbside service or deliveries, but how many waiters and waitresses can you keep on staff to do that? Unbelievable. I still do not understand why this is being so blown out of proportion. We have 30 people here in Ohio that have it and all have or are recovering. From what I'm hearing, it's not even as bad as having the flu. Why this urgency to shut everything down? o_O

Diane - None of our stores have paper products, milk, or bread. My DH and I did find some smaller grocery stores that had milk - I had to get a gallon for my mom. I don't know what's going on, this is ridiculous.
