Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for January 2023

Hi Everyone. Tonight I did DC Fitt 50 min Full Body Strength & Cardio Circuits. It was more upper body, which is what I wanted and it was thorough. She threw in Tabata cardio in between strength circuits. We also took the dog for a 1.5 mile walk. We haven't gone on our nighttime walks since mid December. Weather has been nice for January.

Debbie, LOL. Well the Packers are an embarrassment this year. I'm glad they are done. If they can't beat Detroit, they suck. The 49ers would kill us anyway.

Roselyn, good luck with your appointment. Try not too worry. I'm sure it's treatable.

Belinda, hope the injections and prednisone help.

Jolie, glad you aren't getting hit too bad wirh rain.

Good workouts everyone!

Belinda, nice work getting Iron Legs in after you got back. It does seem your doctors are really careful and good about checking in with each other on your meds. I would think if they were upping prednisone that they would want to wait on the steroid injections. I am sorry about the sinuses. Doctors cannot test for seasonal allergies, can they? I need to figure out something with mine. They are bad right now. When I was tested with all of those skin tests years ago one of the things was mold.

Roxie, nice job getting the workouts in again.

Roselyn, it is hard waiting to find out the results after a doctor tells you something like that. Most times they end up not being serious.

Debbie, great job on Power Splits Upper Body. I don't know if I will ever get up that high on overhead press again. I try, but even up to 10 does not happen. My shoulder feels so weak. Maybe I will progress at least a little more eventually. I use my watch for so many things I have to charge it once a day. I get texts on it and so sometimes those group texts start, and it keeps it going. Also, I see my calls on it when I am not in the room with my phone, and I track all night. I take it off when I shower and charge it. I have kind gotten used to all of the features. I suppose I could wean myself off of some of them.
That's too bad only 8 teachers participated.

Jolie, nice work on another Body Beast workout today and the treadmill climb/walk. The pace is good on BB. I used to work at it so hard and get way up there in weights. Trying to get close to the guys working with him that he teased about not working hard enough.

Cam, nice workout with DC Fit Full Body Strength and Cardio Circuits.

Today was a cardio TM workout only, my muscles need a rest. I did and entire uphill walk for 1 hour, the highest incline I hit was 9.0 and that was for about 15 minutes and then I walked the rest of the way on the incline a little lower but not less than 4.0 incline and my speed ranged from 3.1 to 3.4. Total miles traveled was 3.2 and I burned 537 calories. I had a great stretch at the end because my hamstrings and glutes were feeling the incline.

Diane Sue, I remember really pushing the weights too! I wanted to keep up with you and Debbie before I joined the thread, you two really motivated me a lot with the weights. Remember Teddy? I wonder what happened to her and there was another gal that was on the thread that lifted some impressive weights, but I remember she tore something in her shoulder and had to have surgery. Great job with the workouts lately, you are back to you A Game!

Cam, way to go on the workout and the dog walk last night. Our December was hot, and now January is cold and damp. I am ready for some sun but we have three days of rain this weekend :(

Roxie, great job with the workout!

Roselyn, do not worry, I am sure you are good! Prayers for you anyway :)

Debbie, I hope you have a great workout today. I looked into the Garmin you have on Amazon, and it is on sale because a newer version just came out. I am getting the older version, I do not care about the version, and it looks like it does the same thing.

Doreen, I hope you had a great workout today!

Make it a great day!

Today was a cardio day and I can't do much cardio other than boxing or the treadmill. I did boxing yesterday so I did the treadmill today. Walked on a 5% incline and had a pretty decent workout.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 371 calories, did 2 miles, did 4858 steps and HR was 139/162.

Jolie - Glad you are still going in for the MRI, better safe than sorry. I think you will like the Venu Sq, I really love mine. Watch some Youtube videos on how to set it up and how it works, that helped me a lot. Great job with your workouts yesterday and today!

Belinda - So sorry to hear about your sinus issues. Maybe surgery is the way to go? How frustrating!

Roselyn - I know it's hard, but try not to be anxious. Everything will be alright. Cysts are common among women. It has been a long while since I've seen my OBGYN, I just made an appointment but couldn't get in until April. Yikes!!

Roxie - Good job with your workout!!

Cam - I don't even know who is still in they playoffs. The Steelers for sure since they beat the Browns Sunday. LOL!

Diane - So weird that your shoulders aren't getting any stronger. With all the PT you did, I would think you'd be back to about normal now. Sorry to hear that. I have my texts and phone calls going to my Garmin as well but that doesn't seeem to use the battery. I can go a week without charging it.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi,

I had an appointment with my doctor today. I also got an x-ray on my right knee, the one that I been having problems. I should get the results soon.

Today I did Iron Upper body today.

Debbie - thank you. I do think, they want to do the surgery to help with my chronic sinus problems. It definitely would help me to breathe better. Very frustrating. I am still positive after the surgery things will get better.

Diane - my doctors are careful with giving me meds. You can get the blood test or skin test, I chose the skin test, I got the results in 15 min. The blood test takes up to 2 weeks. Now, I know I have no allergies except mold. I was tested for 47 different common allergies, I assume they tested me for seasonal allergies. A lot of them where outside tests. We don't have mold in the house, the allergist said he doesn't believe I have allergies based on the mold alone. He said, now it's not the time for mold outside. Maybe you want to get retested. Next time I do the blood test.

Cam - thank you. I hope so too. Great job on your workout.

Waving Hi to Jolie, Roselyn and Roxie.

Have a great day everyone.

I did ICE Lower Body Blast. I did the mish mosh with Blizzard Blasts inserted, which I made low impact. A great hour workout. Love this one. I was a sweaty mess and it wasn't taxing my lower body and back.

Debbie, the only game I know of is Seattle and the 49ers. Not sure who plays or what days. All I know is the games will be on at my house thus this weekend with stereo affect and all.

Good workouts everyone!

Today I did Coffey Fit Raw Upper Body Strength and Endurance, 69 minutes(10 minutes for adjustments and writing down the moves and weight) 186 calories, heart rate 96/135, 1,335 steps. This says upper body, but there is squats as well. then did CDorner Mobility and Balance from yesterday. This uses a chair, 31 minutes, heart rate 87/101,67 calories, 152 steps. It was a more active mobility workout with moves like partial pistol moves using the chair, sit and stand with arm movement. That is just some of it. Total time was 1 hour 40 minutes, 253 calories, 1,487 steps.
I was going to do a short cardio but decided I needed the stretch after the weights. I was a bit worried I was pushing it too much.

Coffey Fit Raw Upper Body Strength

Jolie, great job on the incline walks and hill climbs. Yes, I do remember Teddy. Didn't she move out of country or something? We have had quite a few people that were here for a long time and disappeared. I have several that I have kept in touch with, but they have been gone from here since way before you started here. We mostly chatted and kept up with workouts on facebook. I have one that I email with now. She was a beach body coach for a long time. One I play word with friends with and again communicated with off and on facebook. There was a couple that I talked to on the phone and one I met in Indiana when my husband and I went on vacation. I have been on Cathe's platforms since she had about 200 followers. Debbie and Belinda have been here for a really long time. I am not sure about the one with the shoulder injury. I know I am progressing, I guess I am a little slow at pushing heavier if I feel discomfort as I do not want to end up injuring something. My shoulder hurts some this evening along with that rib cage sternum thing. I will give it a couple of days to recoup after today's workout. Chris on CDonner workout said she broke her watch and did not have one. I think she had the apple watch and I guess the screen on it was broke off and hanging. She said she was looking at her options and was unsure. She said she did not want text messages and phone calls on hers. Some joke in there as well.

Debbie, nice work on the treadmill today. You got a good calorie burn out of it. I am guessing I was expecting to be back to normal and pumping the iron faster. With all of the PT I was up to 5's for the overhead stuff, 10# each hand for the pully rows which he upped the last week. I am lifting much more than I was there. I am just worried if it hurts in the same area as before, or I feel like something is snapping in there which happens once in a while. This would never had bothered me in the past as I would have thought it was the workout and just needed some recovery. Now I worry about a setback. Generally, it seems to let up in a day or two. I have to expect some soreness, but not pain. Today I started lowering the weight when the shoulder was becoming difficult, and I started feeling it in my lat and trap area on the right side. I like the workout though. I had not tried that one yet. I looked at the Circuit one where they each go to different stations. There is a list of the moves and suggestions if you do not have a leg extension machine etc.. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it or not. It is another that I have not done.
Anyway, I think it will be a while before I get much more than maybe 10# overhead. Still kind of worried about pulling something apart. I need to build muscle strength to support things though.

Belinda, I hope they let you know the results of the x ray soon. Nice work with Iron Upper Body today.
I did not know they do blood testing for allergies. They just did the patches on my back and put stuff on spots up my arms. I think most was checking for things like mold, animals dander, foods etc. When my daughter had it done her highest allergen was feathers, then kapok, and latex. It started as very extreme eczema and now she has to have an epi pen with her when she goes places. She had a reaction to something in an airplane on vacation once and was lucky she had benedryl on her. I check my local allergen checker when I feel the allergies hitting bad and I can usually tell what seasonal allergen it is. Always gets bad with juniper and cedar around this time of year. Spring and summer ragweed and some of the tree pollen. Oddly, when I see mostly grass pollen it is not as bad. I react, but not like with some of the others like now where I am watery eyes, congested, coughing and sneezing at the same. I was hoping to skip the allegra and flonase, but after 4 days I could not go out of the house in the shape I am in. I keep thinking about testing. There is a testing facility in the city next to us. I hate getting set up with another doctor though. I am sure it wouldn't be one visit and that is it. My reprieve from allergies is generally in August and then late November to early December for 3 to 4 weeks.

Cam, nice work today with the Ice mix with the blast. I used to use those mixes a lot. It gives a great workout. I only look at football when my husband is watching it and making comments. He does not watch NFL anymore. Kind of the same reason Debbie says she doesn't. He likes to keep up with the college teams though. Then my family is mostly all for OU since some of them graduated from OU. Then a couple like my dil and granddaughter are OSU fans. My dil has other ball teams she loves that are not from here. I think her favorite must be the Cubs as they went to see them for a vacation trip and her Amazon wish list is Cubs stuff.

Roselyn, nice work with Caroline arms and abs.

Workout was 48 minutes, burned 431 calories, did 3572 steps and HR was 139/161. Not sure why but I did better this time than the last time I did this workout and the HR range was same. Weird. I did better with calorie burn and steps. So woohoo!!!

I've been swamped at work so I can't do personals. Hope you are all having a great day!!

I did Cathe Intensity Step Only mix, 36 minutes, heart rate 125/158, 178 calories, 3,199 steps. I got a message that my groceries were on the way so went ahead and did (ntensity Low Impact Hiit 10 minutes(till order arrived) 51 calories, heart rate 122/153. I forgot about the low impact mix and I used that a lot after my knee surgery when recovering. I did not have as many low impact workouts available then, but used low impact portions from different Cathe workouts. This was 46 minutes, 229 calories, and 4,437 steps which including hauling groceries in and putting away. I forget to recheck the steps till I went back in the workout room. I could have used a stretch as I am sore today from yesterday. Tomorrow will be rushed to as I have an appointment to go get my Real ID done. I did well with heart rate today but did lower some of the impact and modify. No flying jacks and modified those jumps at the end. Flying jacks aggravates my knees when I land and I do better just doing jumps without the jack part. Not so high as Cathe either.

Debbie, have a great day. You got a good calorie burn today. I got my heart rate up pretty well with Intensity today.

Hi,

I had physical therapy evaluation assessment for my shoulder/biceps and knee. Unfortunately, the physical therapist couldn't pull up the x-ray from yesterday. It wasn't complete yet. I made huge improvement in my range of motion in my shoulder. I still problems with bicep tendonitis. I will see the physical therapist for another few month for my shoulder/biceps and right knee. I will cancel the appointment for my shoulder injection next week. I can get the shot that after the physical therapy is done with shoulder.

Today I did Iron D23 Hamstrings.

Diane - they tested me for a total of 47 different allergies. They didn't mention testing for food allergies. I am sure, they did a few. I knew, I didn't had allergies. It didn't felt like allergies to me. I have chronic sinus infections, I knew it had something to do with my sinus. I couldn't breath though that nostril. I had something similar in Germany, I ended up in the hospital. I needed surgery on the left sinus. Same thing I am experiencing now. I have an appointment for possible surgery on Tuesday. I read the report from my CT scan and ENT, now I know why she wants me to get surgery. I will see what the specialist has to say next week. I drove over 2 hours one way to get the CT scan done. Get the test done. Sorry you dealing with so many allergies.

Good night.

Good Evening,

I did LiiFT 4 Shoulder/LiiFT Intervals plus a 30 minute walk on the treadmill. It was icy here today saw some big accidents on my way to work.

I did Heather Robertson Glow 45 min Upper Body. That was a good one. She covered it all. A lot of shoulders, so on the 2nd round I subbed some core and cardio for shoulder work.

Tomorrow is a rest day and lots of errands after work.

Have a good weekend!

Belinda, that was a long drive to get the x-ray done. I don't know how you sleep when one side of your nose is stopping breath getting through. I am not good with that it is miserable. My primary gave me different allergy sprays to try and none helped and had side effects. She also suggested something that I remembered being a drug used for depression or something. I mentioned it to my daughter and she said no as well. I was hoping if I could at least keep the sinuses moist with lots of liquids and supplenents that help the sjogrens dryness would work. Last year I had the same issues and the meds for surgery made it so much worse. I found drinking lots of hot ginger tumeric tea helped some along with bone broth and soup.
I thought my surgeon would get X-rays and info to my PT before I went and they had not done it. I had even made a point of asking the doctor to do it. Most of that is the staff and not the doctor though.

Cam, nice work today with Heather Robertson GLow Upper Body. I like Chris arm workouts, but they always end up having a lot of shoulder work as well. I checked out one for yesterday and decided against it. I also looked at the step hiit and she goes to the as well so I just decided it was a no for me. At least for now.

Roxy, good work on Lift. Be careful with the icy roads.

Hi all, I have been so busy at work that I can hardly find time to get on here and post anymore. :( This morning I walked on my treadmill just to get some steps in because I had a morning long meeting. Fun.

Workout was 35 minutes, burned 372 calories, went 1.75 miles, did 4211 steps and HR was 159/191. Not accurate, however, I was finishing a really good book and the end was so sad I choked up and cried a bit. That might be why my HR was so high this morning.

Have a great weekend everyone!! No time for personals again, I'm sorry!!

I've been MIA this week due to Jury Duty! First the first time I got selected to be on the Jury and it was scheduled to be a 4 day trial. I certainly hope I never have to do that again!! Not that the people were bad but after 8.5 hours of delibiration over multiple charges it was called a mis-trial because one of the videos from evidence we got in the jury room to consider was mis-labled and we watched footage that had never been admitted as evidence in the trial! UGH!!

I did do a workout this morning. A type of cardio weights - Body Part breakdown on GHUTV. It was a bit heavier on the cardio than what I prefer but it was still a good workout.

Today I did CDorner To the Beat All Standing Cardio, 31 minutes, 129 calories, 3,676 steps, 112/129 heart rate. Chris caller this a workout for getting moving and recovery. There is some jacks and a few moves that had some impact with non-impact options which I went for most of the time. I think I pushed a bit too much yesterday and the impact. This was a fun workout and Chris does things like swifter like moving the duster, and the old wax on wax off etc.. I then did CDorner 15 Minute Intense Core and Abs no crunches, 18 minutes, 47 calories, heart rate 89/107, 41 steps. I finished with her newest stretch after step, 17 minutes, 34 calories, heart rate 83/107, 210 calories. Total time was 66 minutes, 210 calories, 3,710 steps.
No Crunch Abs (no neck issues with this one)
45 sec each move
cat/cow
bird dog
forearm plank
bear with a knee tap with hand
lying on back right hand press on bent knee while raising and lowering oposite leg
repeat on other side
forearm side plank arm behind head
side plank on other side
kneeling on left knee right leg extended side bend
repeat on other side
forearm plank body saw
lying face down head resting on hands lift off the floor (low back)
fore arms or on hands plank leg lift and across

Debbie, I am sorry that you have been so busy. That happens sometimes. Good job on getting something in before a day of meetings. Odd on the heart rate. Maybe it was the sadness over the book.

Jolie, great job on Beast Chest and the treadmill walks today. I hope that the mri goes well and the results come out helpful and not anything serious. I am glad that you are getting it.

Belinda, good work on Iron Full Body today.

Doreen, I always hated jury duty, but feel it is our duty as citizens to do it. I was never chosen to stay, but one time we spent a whole day listening to the judge that it would be hard for many of us to listen to and they brought in a guy that killed someone. He was sitting there all teary eyed and I kept praying I did not have to sit through that one. It was the second day they let me go. I think after 70 I do not have to go anymore. So I guess that is a plus for my age. Nice that you were able to get a workout in.

Last night took a 2 mile walk with the dog. This morning I did Michelle's Day 1 Full Body Met Con. That was a doozy but so fun. A great combo of exercises. Definitely reminded me of a Cathe circuit style workout but at a slower pace. I was dying toward the end. Plank knee-ins with gliders are really tough, but I've made progress over the year. She has a good 2 week Stronger Together rotation. I may actually do this one. It looks fun. She has pretty good music too.

Have a good day!
