Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for August 2023

Hi,

I walked outside and did Body Parts Chest.

Diane - Yorkies do cost some money for the groomer. We knew that when we got her. Both my other dogs never needed grooming except when they got older get their nails trimmed. That is so cool your vet got interviewed. I hope you hear something soon from your doctor. Hang in there!!

Jolie - great job on our walk. The humidity was very high today too.

Debbie - great job on your biceps and triceps today. Sadie looks adorable.

Roselyn - great job on your HiiT workout yesterday.

Have a great day and workout.

Today I did CDorner Step 30 minutes, 166 calories, heart rate 133/164, 2,745 steps. I then did STS 2 Body Parts Back no repeats, 33 minutes, 92 calories, heart rate 97/121. Total time was 63 minutes, 258 calories. I got a late start because I kept going back and forth with the pulmonologist nurse on my bronchoscopy. They seem stuck on Tuesdays. At first they had it set for when I am out of town. I told them when was best for me and they said they would give it to someone else and call in an hour. No one called so I called back. Then they said the set me up for a Tuesday a week later. I could not get that changed and now I have to figure out getting there and back. Frustrated with it.

Today it is very humid but a bit cooler, not ideal weather for a workout in the gym. I opted for a long walk with my dog through the hills, walk was 1 hour 6 minutes, traveled 3.6 miles and burned 644 calories. I just ordered 1 pound ankle weights from Amazon to use while I walk, these walks are getting really easy and I am trying to make a good workout out of it. I used to use a weighted vest but I am nervous about it compressing my spine now that I am older. I should put on wrist weights too, just to make it harder.

Great job on the workouts yesterday everyone! I hope you all have good workouts today. I went to TJMaxx yesterday and there is Christmas stuff in the stores already!!! Not so fast, right!

I had a meeting/PD training first thing this morning so haven't been able to post until now. This morning I did RAW Lower Body Pyramid and had an ok workout. This is tabata style, 30 seconds on/10 off with three rounds. I did only 2 rounds for some of the exercises because my knees were burning and hot for some reason at times.

I don't have time to post the workout because I'm heading to another meeting. But workout time was 42 minutes, burned 270 calories, HR was 117/149.

Have a great day everyone!!

Belinda, nice work getting in the belly dancing and walk. We had a miniature schnauzer years ago and had a mobile groomer come and groom her. She always looked cute when we got her back.

Jolie, nice walk today. That is silly that they had Christmas stuff out already.

Debbie, great job getting in Raw Lower Body Pyramid. I wonder why your knees were burning.

Roselyn, nice work on chest and tris done today.

This morning I just walked on my treadmill for about a mile and then did CDorner's 15 or 30 Minute Seated Neck and Low Back Stretch. Loved it but I'm still having a really hard time turning my head to the left. This helped a little. I'm not sure what is going on, I slept wrong and it isn't going away. This happened Saturday. I've headed it, iced it, taken anti inflammatories and nothing. Hoping it will be better soon.

Walk was 20 minutes, burned 181 calories, went 1 miles, did 2369 steps and HR was 141/163.

Stretch was 20 minutes, burned 46 calories.

Jolie - It was 59 degrees here in Ohio this morning. I had my heated seat on and my heat. LOL! Be careful wearing ankle weights to walk with, it can affect the knees.

Belinda - Great job with the Belly Dance and Yoga!!

Diane - Not sure why my knees felt that workout yesterday so much. It was squats, front lunges (which I do think triggered it, I hate front lunges), plies, reverse lunges and deads. I really liked the workout but didn't want to over do it. Good job with your workout yesterday!! Looked like a tough one.

Hope you all have great workouts today and a great weekend. So glad it's Friday!!

Today was another walk, I felt very under the weather yesterday and still feel a little lightheaded and nauseous. Whenever school resumes each year, there is always a bug that goes around. I wore my 1 pound ankle weights and boy did it make a difference. I thought it would bother my knees but it felt ok. I will not be using them all of the time, just whenever I feel like a little bit more for my walks. My legs feel it now that I am back, I will see how my knees feel tomorrow. Walk was 1 hour 6 minutes, traveled 3.5 miles and burned 563 calories.

We have a Category 4 hurricane coming our way, the first one in over 150 years! It will not hit southern CA as a Category 4, but it will be a tropical storm and it will bring a lot of rain and high winds. I have to spend today cleaning up our patio, bringing everything into the garage so it does not get destroyed. It should hit on Sunday, but I want to be prepared in case it comes in early.

Debbie, I am sorry to hear about your pain issue you are having. Have you ever tried Acupuncture? I hear it is great for things like pain management, spasms and so much more. The next time I run into trouble with a spasm I am going to try it out. I would take an obscene amount of Magnesium, naturally that would be your best bet along with Alpha Lipoic Acid. I hope you feel better soon. How big of a Moron is Biden? He says the economy is fantastic, wtf!!! Interest rates are over 7% the worst in 25 years. Gas here is $5.25 per gallon, and milk is $7! I hate this guy; it is amazing that people voted for this fool! I had to get it off my chest, sorry.

I hope you all have great workouts today. Make it a great day!

Today I did CDorner 30 minute Low Impact Cardio Fat Burning "fun" music. I did not care for the music much. 27 minutes, 152 calories, heart rate 138/155, 3,147 steps. I then did STS 2.0 Standing Abs Metabolic Core + Core Floor, 26 minutes, heart rate 128/156,. I finished off with STS 2.0 Mobility #1, 18 minutes, 27 calories. Total time was 70 minutes, 301 calories, 3,915 steps.

Debbie, I am so sorry that you are going through this. Here is the CDorner Stretch I have been using for my neck. It helps for that. I used it when I couldn't tilt my head to the side. I think that it is different than the one you did. It is a newer one. She is working on getting enough together to do a 30 day challenge.
It is supposed to be over a hundred the next few days. I am okay with most of the lower body moves, but do not like the elevated lunges. My knees are not always happy with it.

Jolie, nice job on the walk today. I would worry about ankle weights for walking myself. I hope you don't have too much of a problem with the hurricane. I heard them talking about a Hilary one or something on the news. Our economy has went so far downhill.

Hi,

3.5 mile walk outside is done. I also did my last STS2 Tric workout. Not sure, what I will do next week? Maybe take a recovery week (walking and stretching)

Debbie - sorry you are going through this. You already do everything you can. I hope you feel better soon. Hope you get lots of rest this weekend.

Diane - we have mobil groomers came in our neighborhood. They charing insane $$. It’s more expensive. We drop Sadie off Vet/hopital/spa/doggie day care. DH and I went to a French Coffee shop had a nice coffee and pastry. Costco has xmas stuff out already, lol. How are you feeling? Great job on your workouts.

Julie - stay safe!

Roselyn - great job.

Have a great workout and weekend.

Today no workout, I strained my low back moving all of the patio funiture and plants to prepare for this Hurricane coming our way tonight. It is now downgraded to a category 3 hurricane and should be a tropical storm when it comes into land where we live. We are the direct hit of it, our town is featured on the Weather Channel because of all the home built on the water's edge. I am going down to the beach to help fill sandbags for all the people that need help. There are close to 100 houses that need help ASAP, they are built so close to the ocean and with the storm surge expected, it is not going to be a good situation for them. I live on the hill overlooking the ocean, so I am in good shape it is the low part of the town with the issue. My parents in Palm Springs are supposed to get 8 inches of rain in 24 hours, that is more than they get in an entire year of rainfall.

I hope you all have great workouts today. I hope to work out tomorrow while the storm is going if we do not lose power. Because of what happened in Maui, I would not be surprised if they cut the power to avoid a fire.

So far so good with the tropical storm coming onto land right now, but the worst will start around noon. I prepped my house really well so I feel good that nothing will happen since this storm will not bring high winds, just obscene amounts of rain. My parents are getting it good right now, but they live in a gated community with a block wall all the way around the community and golf courses, so I think they are safe from the flash floods. Today I did Cathe's STS Meso 1 Disc # 8, Back and Triceps and had an excellent workout. It is so hot and humid in my gym room, I had to put the garage door up in the pouring rain just to get some sort of breeze. I am getting a lot stronger as this Meso Cycle progresses, I will go up in weights next week on the last week before moving on to Meso Cycle 2. Workout was 1 hour, I did a few extra exercises and burned 461 calories.

Next week since I have to walk the pup 5 days, I will break up the Body Parts in Meso 2 to one per day with the walk because those workouts are too long to do along with an hour walk each day.

I hope you all have good workouts or a good rest day.

Rest day today. I hope that you and your parents stay safe with the storms. Great job getting in Meso one Back and Triceps. It sounds like you have your workouts planned well around the dog walking.

Belinda, nice work on the walk and the last STS 2 ticeps workout. The mobile dog grooming was a long time ago. I am sure prices have went way up with so many people using services that do not require them going out.

Evening,

I went for a walk today. Next week DH and I will do a stay cation in DC until DD and her BF comes back from Jamaica. Then we will visit our son in TX for awhile. Not sure when yet.

Diane - one of my neighbors came up to me today asking where I get Sadie’s hair cut. He has 2 Yorkies. He mention mobil groomers wanted a lot of $$$ for this 2 dogs. I spent over $70 on Sadies’s grooming. Plus, Dh and I go after we drop Sadie off to the French cafe shop. I love how the new groomer cut Sadie’s hair.

Roselyn - nice leg workout today.

Good night.

Hello, late post, we didn't have internet at work and now I'm home working. My neck and upper back were feeling pretty good this morning so I didn't want to push it. I walked on my treadmill for about 28 minutes, burned 265 calories, went 1.39 miles, did 3294 steps. HR was 146/178.

I also did the CDorner Neck Stretch Diane posted. I really liked it but it was a bit too much for my neck as it is hurting again. This will be a go to stretch workout but I have to remember to not be so aggressive with my moves. Stretching is supposed to be relaxing, not trying to get the most stretch out of a move. I was feeling good this morning so hopefully this will get better by tomorrow.

Jolie - hope all is well with you! Send us an update!

No time for personals, I hope you all have a great day!
