Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for August 2023

No workout today. I am sick and there is no way I could work out. First my husband was sick on the way home and last night it hit me. I am just sleeping a lot. Hopefully I am better soon.
 
Diane - I am so sorry you are sick. I hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest.

Roselyn - nice job on the lower body 2 today.

This morning I had to be at work by 7:30 because I'm leaving early for a doctor's appointment for my mom. I decided to do CDorner's Taylor Swift Cardio and it was really fun. I only did 30 minutes of the 45 minute workout, I plan to do it in its entirety next week.

One of my secrets is I'm a Swifty and I love all of her music. I'd love to go to one of her concerts but 1 - I hate crowds and 2 - I'm not spending $2,000 for a ticket, that's just insane. But I am a Swifty for sure so I loved the music in this one.

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 272 calories (not bad!), did 3379 steps and HR was 140/178.

Diane - I am so sorry you are not feeling well, is it the flu or something? I sure hope you are feeling better today. Such a bummer, I hate being sick!

Jolie - Seems everyone who went on vacation came back sick. That is just weird. I hope you don't get it too. Bummer on you having to continually walk to the dogs. You need to train them to get on your treadmill once in a while. I've seen that in videos and it's great exercise for dogs. The trick is keeping them on it. LOL! Great job with your workout, though, you got a great one in yesterday!! I'm trying to decide if I want to continue with STS or not. I'm getting sick of the repeated conversations on all these workouts. Personally for the money we spent on them, they should have all been unique. Oh well.

Belinda - Wow on your knees. I hope the gel shots work, I've heard great things about them. Good luck! I'm sorry you are continually going through all this stuff, it's not right. I really wish the vegan diet might have changed your situation. A friend of mine here at work has Hoshimoto's disease and she has inflammation all the time. Her holistic doctor has told her to stop eating/drinking dairy and no sugar at all and she has been gluten free for a long time. We'll see how it works for her. I don't think you do much dairy, right? But I don't know how much sugar you eat in a day either. Sugar is a killer and I've been trying to get off of it for some time now. It just keeps calling me. :(

Today I had an excellent workout. I started with a 1 hour, 3.2-mile dog walk, it is cooler today, so it was pleasant. Next, I did STS Meso 2 Disc #15 Back, I changed a lot of the exercises so I could use my cable machine because I do not hurt my back when I use this type of machine. Total workout time was 1 hour and 42 minutes and I burned 797 calories.

Debbie, great job on the Taylor Swift cardio workout today. Nice to know that you like her, I like a few of her songs, "Shake it off"! I do not like going to concerts, too many people and it takes forever to leave and get out of the parking lot!

Daine Sue, I hope you are feeling better today. My husband came back sick from his trip to Alaska, and he is much better today.

Belinda, sorry to hear about your knee issue, I hope you can avoid surgery.

No workout today. My husband and I went to the doctor and we have covid and strep :confused:. The doctor put us on antibiotics for the strep. I called to check with the pulmonologist just in case that affected the bronchoscopy the 18th and he said we could still do it. We do not usually go to a doctor for illness, but this really hit and my husband who never wants to go got up and said we need to go to the doctor.

Debbie, nice work on the Taylor Swift workout. I have purchased her music and like it too. Although I got rid of most of my CDs since I usually listen to music through Amazon music. I liked the workout and am glad it is low impact. I had planned on doing it yesterday, but since I got sick, I guess it will be a while. I do not like crowds either and would not pay that much money for a ticket, plus I would have to get someone to go with me to pay for a ticket too.

Belinda, I am sorry that you are going through so much with your knees. I wish they could come up with something to help.

Jolie, Great job on the weights today and dog walk. I am glad that your husband is better today. I do not think that I would feel so bad if it were not for the strep on top of it. The doctor said that there is a shot to help the covid to get better faster, but since we both have had it for a few days we declined. I do not trust anything they give concerning covid. I need to get some more probiotics since they gave me antibiotics though. I wish you could find an easier way to exercise your dogs. When we lived in out other house I tossed a ball down the stairs and my dog would fetch it over and over so I gave her a workout. I doubt she could do that now though. She always comes back from playing with my son's dog exhausted and limpy. One hip seems to bother her and I am giving her stuff for it.

Debbie - thank you! I hope the shots will help too. I am sick and tired of the pain/swelling. I also have Hoshimoto's thyroids disease. I was hoping the vegan plan helped too. I have to be carful of some foods I eat, I get RP flair ups like bone broth. I don‘t eat refined sugar. I don‘t eat a lot of dairy. I agree, about Taylor S. No way, I spent that much $$ on a ticket. Great job on your workout today.

Diane - I am so sorry you and your husband have Covid and Strep. I hope you feel better soon. Please get lots of rest. Covid isn‘t over.
