Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for August 2023

No workout this morning. It was bike to work day because my husband's truck is in the shop and he is using my car for the next few days.

Hi,

No walk outside today It was too hot to walk outside this morning. I did do an hour yoga. Felt great.

Debbie - nice job on your walk and stretch. I need to check that one out.

Hope you all have a great day.

Today I did CDorner Step & Boxing Cardio Intervals (alternates boxing 3 min and step 3 min), 41 minutes, 216 calories. heart rate 135/155, 3,800 steps. She uses rock music in this one. It is one from her old setting. Afterward I did some foam rolling. I was tired from coughing and achy so was not feeling weights today. I am hoping to do STS 2 Lower Body and Upper body this week.

Jolie, I hope you and your parents are okay. They were talking about Palm Beach on the news. My husband has family that lives there.

Debbie, I have to remember not to push the stretches so aggressively. I do like that stretch though and it is supposed to be relaxing so I guess that should be a reminder not to be aggressive. Nice work on the treadmill today.

Doreen, I hope your ride to work was good.

Belinda, nice work on the full hour of yoga. That is still quite a lot for grooming. I am pretty sure when we did it it was much lower than that for the mobile groomer. I can't imagine what that guy paid for two dogs. My son takes their dog to Pets Mart for grooming. Not a lot of trimming on him though. He looks a lot like a small German shepherd with really tall ears. He is cute and very active. Gertie is going to go stay with them this weekend. She is usually worn out when she comes home after playing with Kermit.

Roxie, that is hot. It was 104 here today.

Penny Barnshaw Strength this morning. I skipped a tabata burn-out at the end - just wasn't feeling like a cardio/abs burnout! We've been in the 90s which is hot for us.

I'm still having neck stiffness and have a few knots still in my upper back. My DH rubbed it last night and it is feeling much better but I didn't want to lift in case I irritated it again. I walked on my treadmill again on a 4% incline and worked up a good sweat. Then I did RAW Stretch Finisher adding more on my own because she doesn't hold the stretch long enough in this one.

Treadmill workout was 37 minutes, burned 251 calories, went 1.8 miles, did 4338 steps and HR was 118/134.

Diane - How was the Step &Boxing by Chris? Did you like it? You said it was an older compilation but was it recently posted? I need to check out the website, that one sounds like a fun one.

Jolie - I hope you post today and let us know how you are. I'm wondering if you lost power. I know winds were really strong through there.

We have no internet at work, I'm on a hotspot which sucks. I was able to work from home yesterday but no such luck today. Hope they get this fixed soon, no one can do anything!

Have a great day!

Hi,

stretching and dancing this morning. We did a dance routine today. Very fun.

Diane - my old groomer charged us over $60, the new one is over $70. Not cheap! I don’t have a steady hand or I would cut Sadie’s hair. The groomer with giving Sadie a bath, grooming her hair/nails and ears for 3 hours isn’t too bad. I rather pay than mess Sadie up, lol. I used to take my other dogs to pets mart. I won’t leave Sadie there for 3 hours. Hopefully next time Sadie doesn’t take that long.

Debbie - I am so sorry you’re still having issue with your neck and upper back. I wished I had an answer besides icying/heat/stretching. I hope you feel better soon. Nice job on CDorner Step & Boxing Cardio Intervals.

DH and I are getting ready for our staycation tomorrow. Looking forward to relaxing.

We made it through the storm but holy crap was it insane. The weather channel said there would be little wind, only massive amounts of rain, but we got both and it was crazy. You should see my yard, I worked on it for 7 hours yesterday and probably the same amount of time today. In Palm Springs the water came up to my parents door but my mom had it protected really good with sand bags so the water did not get into the house. They got over a year's amount of rain in one day.

Yesterday it was still raining in the morning so I got in a 2,5-mile walk with the pup and burned 401 calories. I was soaked and decided that was far enough. Today's workout was a 4 mile walk with the pup, 1 hour 17 minutes and I burned 742 calories. Next, I started STS Meso 2, I need to have shorter workouts to do after my walk each morning. I did Shoulders and had a really good workout, though I could have gone heavier on the first exercise. Next, I got on my Max Trainer on Manual Mode, 6 minutes on resistance 6 and darn near died LOL! Total workout time was 1 hour 49 minutes and I burned 979 calories. Now, back out to the yard to try to clean up the leaves and tree branches.

Debbie, good idea just to walk today since you are starting to feel better. My Chiro tells me not to stretch if I have a spasm, it will kick it up and aggravate it and then you are back to where you started in the first place. Now, if it is not a spasm, I think it is good to do. I hope you feel better. :)

Have a great day.

Today I did STS 2.0 Lower Body #1 no more than 2 sets premix, 49 minutes, 118 calories. I also did the lower body foam roller spending a bit more time on the moves. Interruptions through the weights. On a positive, they changed my bronchoscopy to Monday the 18th and my daughter will be able to get me there.
I am so tired. Maybe a nap is in order.

Debbie, here is a link to Chris step and boxing. I do not remember doing it before. She puts up stuff and says previously recorded sometimes. I just figure it is older because it is in the old red brick setting. She put it up 8 days ago. And yes, I liked it.

I will be back to post later. I need a nap.

Doreen, nice work on Penny Bradshaw Strength this morning.

Debbie, nice work on the treadmill walk again. I wonder why the internet is down out your workplace.

Belinda, I am glad that you are having fun with the dance workouts. It is nice when a workout is fun to do.
3 hours is a long time to leave your dog to be groomed. Have a nice time with your husband relaxing.

Jolie, I am glad you and your parents are okay after the storms. I don't know how you had energy to do that workout and walk along with yard clean up. Those storms can really leave things in a mess.

Just got done typing a bunch of stuff and my tablet froze. Geez. Anyways, last night I woke up with my heart POUNDING really hard and slowly. I laid there for a while and tried to calm it down, which it did after a few minutes. It sort of felt like when you have a nightmare and you wake up scared, but I don't remember having a nightmare. I wonder what it was? Anxiety maybe? Seems I've had a lot of that lately for some reason. I had to charge my watch last night so I can't even look at the heart rate tracking. Darn it.

Anyways, I decided to just make this a recovery week, I still have tightness in my neck and having a hard time turning my head. Not as bad as earlier in the week but it's still there. So I ended up walking on my treadmill.

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 379 calories, went 2.2 miles, did 5257 steps and HR was 134/154.

My DH and I have been walking in the evenings as well. Yesterday we went to one of our local parks and walked about a mile.

Belinda - I sure hope this goes away soon, it's better but still there. When I take Tylenol it is totally gone so not sure why it can't just be gone. Hopefully by Monday I can start lifting again. Good job with your dancing workout!

Jolie - I'm glad to hear you made it through the storm and that you and your parents had no flooding. Thank God for that!! I meant to comment on something you said last week and forgot, about Biden and how he's saying our economy is so good. What planet is he living on? And how can people believe him? Can't they see how expensive everything is now? OMG. And then that shameful visit in Maui, what an asshole he is. He's making jokes and comparing their pain to his kitchen catching on fire but was quickly put out? It's like him saying his son died in Iraq when in truth he died of an overdose. And yet people believe him. And Trump might not have been perfect, but he did good in this country when he was president. God bless him, I hope he can get through all these legal issues he is facing. Doesn't look good.

Diane - Good job with your low body workout yesterday. Are you getting tired of the STS workouts yet? I sort of am but I am seeing results. I'd like to do Meso 3 and probably will do some of them. Thanks for the link to Chris's Step and Boxing. I will do it when I feel better. Did you like it? The internet was down here because some Einstein cut a fiber optic cable.

Roselyn & Roxie - I'm sorry you girls (and everyone else on here that is experience the heat) are having to deal with such high temps. Our summer here in Ohio has been dream-like. We've never had this nice of a summer that I remember. 1 - 90 degree day so far and maybe another tomorrow. It's been humid sporadically but mostly low humidity and beautiful temps. I hope it cools off for you all soon.

Have a great day everyone!

Last night I slept like the dead after the workout and all of the yard work. I was asleep by 8pm! Today I started my workout with a 3.5-mile dog walk through the hills with coyotes running after us. I got a blow horn to carry and when I push the button, they run away :) Next, I did STS Meso 2 Disc #13 Triceps and did well with the weights. At the end of my workout, I got on the Max Trainer and did 5 minutes on Manual Mode, resistance 6 and darn near died, will it ever get easier! Total workout time was 1 hour 34 minutes and I burned 878 calories. I like this one body part per day workout because now I can do both the dog walk, weights and cardio.

Lying Triceps Ext.-
15's x 12, x 10, x 8, x 13 TF

Lying Cross Body Ext.-
15's x 12, x 10, x 8
Both Arms Seated-
15's x 10 TF

Cable Kickback Pull Down
40# x 12, x 10, x 8, x 8 TF (I went up 10# and they were killer!)

Debbie, I hope your muscles settle down, a rest week is probably a good idea. Biden sucks period!!! I loathe the man; he is so out of it! You know Michelle Obama the man in disguise, will run to replace him. Great, a fucking Globalist and someone into population control.

Diane Sue, I hope you have more energy today. Take it easy and rest.

I hope you all have good workouts today.

Hi,

We are in DC. I did Belly dancing and walked outside.

Debbie - I am sorry you are going through so much lately. I hope it gets better. My knees are bordering again. I have an Orthopedic appointment the end of this month. The suspecting I have RA vs. OA.

Diane - I do have a lot of fun. Some mom's bring their kids to the live class, so adorable. The 3 hours is to get familiar with Sadie. I hope it doesn't take that long next time. Great job on your workout.

Great job ladies. Good night.

Today I did STS 2.0 Upper Body 1 Express #1 2 sets max which took me 58 minutes when the full workout is 57 minutes. These do shave off a little time for the moves that are 3 sets. Debbie, good idea to make it a recovery week and just do a treadmill walk today. mYbe the heart pounding and slow was anxiety. I have had times where it felt like the bed was moving with my heart beat and I know it was anxiety. Too bad you did not have your watch on so you could check your heart rate. I hope it doesn't happen again. I have enjoyed STS 2 and am just going over the ones I only did two times in the 8 week rotation. Each was two times then moved to 4 weeks of body parts. Although I had went through short mixes before I started the rotation just to make sure they all worked correctly. I was thinking maybe I should do some high rep workouts. I read on a PT site that to protect shoulder after surgery start with slow and high reps which keeps you from not being able to push to heavy at first. Although that would be the opposite of what I have done, it might be a good choice for a bit. I am seeing results with the STS 2 workouts though and it is getting a bit easier. Today was a good day with the increases. Yes, I did like the step and boxing workout. I sort of looked over Chris workouts for this week. I looked at the Hard Rockin Hiit from yesterday and it started right out with jacks. She uses hard rock on that one though. Tomorrow is a hi or low cardio with all Taylor Swift songs. I was looking as I thought she said it was going to be a Rockin week.

Jolie, I am glad the blow horn works with the coyotes. I would be worried having them following. Besides my dog would want to go after them and it would not be a good experience. Great job on the STS triceps. Do you think I could put DMSO on a cyst on the side of my dog's face? I bought some and some castor oil but am hesitant. I know you have mentioned using it and I have read some vets sites. It is just the warnings all over the package made me pause. I may wait till we get back from our trip as I do not want a problem when my son and daughter in law watch her. It showed up suddenly or maybe just became more obvious. See, all of this awful stuff going on and bad leaders leaves me awake at night. I have to pay attention and then I worry about our country. They are not caring for our country and people and show no love for it whatsoever.

Roselyn, nice work on biceps.

Belinda, it looks like another fun day with belly dancing and stretching. I bet it is sweet watching children trying to do it too with their mothers. I am sorry they think you may have RA instead of OA. My doctors have me diagnosed with both and some other things. It is discouraging at times, but we are fighters and do pretty good at keeping going. That is nice that the groomers want to get familiar with the dog first. I know mine would probably not be laid back like she is with me. She had a vet once that swore she tried to bite him. I thought it was not good that he picked her up and put her on the table to try to clip her nails. She was freaking out. She never gets up on furniture with her big claws and self so that frightened her. After that experience I never had him do it again. I take care of her nails and got an electric nail grinder. No problem. I did not see her try to bite the vet , but his assistant was their holding her down and he put a muzzle on her. She has never been aggressive like that and it made me mad. My holistic vet has an elevator type table with a restraint on it and is really gentle and Gertie seems to like him.

Today I did my treadmill again and then some leg stretches. Nothing to write home about. Still have tightness and pain in my neck area. What is going on? I've pulled my neck before sleeping wrong and it usually heals in two to three days. This is 2 weeks now. I wish I knew what to do to make it heal. Really frustrated.

I don't have time for personals today, I have a lot to get done at work. I will try to be back later to do them.

Today I woke up exhausted, so I just did the walk with the pup. Walk was 1 hour 16 minutes, traveled 4 miles and burned 697 calories. I was supposed to do Chest but I just do not have the energy today. With all of the yard work and the cardio and weights along with the walking, I am dead! :)

Debbie- I am so sorry that your neck issue is not going away!!! It has to be something with the sitting, right? You did not have an issue the whole time you were off work over the summer. I hope you find some relief soon.

Diane Sue, great job on the workout yesterday, it was a long one. I would use Castor Oil on the cyst. I have been using it and it is breaking up mine on my forearm, it actually is in two pieces now instead of one. This shows me that it is desolving it as it should. They say if it took a year for the cyst to grow to the size that it is, it could take that long to go away. I guess we have to be patient. I hope you have a nice time on your vacation.

Belinda, enjoy your trip.

BBL to read the other posts for the day. I hope you all have good workouts today.

Hi,

This morning was live zoom belly dance. DH and I walked almost 6 miles at the Mall. Knees are killing me.

Diane - it's funny watching the little ones dancing like their moms. They are so cute. My knees and ankles are constantly swollen. They still want me to workout. Sorry about the experience you had with the vet. Maybe one day I will try to cut Sadie's nails and hair. Good for you. Enjoy your vacation.

Debbie - I feel so bad for you that nothing is working :( Maybe it's time to see your doctor about it. I hope you feel better soon.

Jolie - we doing all the tourist stuff, lol. Although we see it every time someone comes to visit. It's fun. Lots of walking. Sounds like you need a break from working out and give your body some rest. Can you use Castor Oil on dogs too?

Have a great day everyone.
