Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for April 2023

This morning I walked on my treadmill and was able to get 2 miles in. Walked at a 3 mph pace and did a 3% incline. Felt great.

Workout was 42 minutes, burned 391 calories (!!!), went 2 miles, did 4839 steps and HR was 140/164.

Interesting on Caroline, I need to watch the video, I haven't had time yet. I wonder how much she will charge?

Have a great day everyone! No time for personals again. :(

Today I had an excellent workout, and I am feeling so much stronger lately. I started with a 30 minute uphill walk on the TM, traveled 1.7 miles and burned 311 calories. Next, I did Cathe Live Upper Body Sculpting workout #10 and did really well. I changed a few exercises to suit me better, instead of using bands I used heavier weights and did more traditional body building exercises. Total workout time was 1 hour and 28 minutes and I burned 659 calories.

Debbie, great job on the TM walk today, I am happy that your knee is doing better. I am curious about Caroline's App coming out, I only listened to the first few minutes of the explanation. Right now, I am enjoying Cathe Live workouts and using my cardio machines.

Belinda, thanks for posting the Caroline info.

I hope you all have great workouts today. I am hoping for some sunshine, we should be close to 80 degrees on Friday but today it is totally overcast outside.

I have been busy. I thought today would be better, but multiple people calling and coming to the door. An ATT person needed in our yard to hook up new neighbors behind us. If we would have known what we were going to be putting up with utility companies for neighbors, we probably would have chosen a different house. I keep getting a little outside work done here and there. We had a great time with family Sunday for Easter festivities and a birthday.

Yesterday I was still hurting all over so kept my workout light. I did Raw Step Boxing, 29 minutes, heart rate 130/152, 153 calories, 2,497 steps. I then did CDorner Core Mobility, 34 minutes, 55 calories. Total time 63 minutes, 208 calories. Saturday I was putting mulch in the planter and stood up holding a bag of mulch and turned my knee wrong so that it was hurting and wanting to give out on me again. Thankfully it is feeling better now.

Today I did CDorner Total Body with Bands from yesterday, 61 minutes, 125 calories, heart rate 86/128. I followed this with CDorner Neck and Shoulders Stretch that she did today, 23 minutes, 28 calories, heart rate 72/87. I like the different things Chris does with the bands and tubing. Some of the tubing work she does without the handles on, but they can be done either way.

CDorner Total Body with bands (tubing, fabric loop and regular loop required)
moves are done for 1 minute each 3 groupings done 2 times each and finishing with a bonus 60 second plank on forearms

Group 1
curtsy with chest press wearing fabric loop and tubing for the chest press right
banded RDL fabric loop
curtsy lunge with incline chest press fabric loop and tubing
lat pulldown with good morning wearing fabric loop and loop band around wrists
repeat all

Group 2
seated rows with tubing
banded slow roll up with tubing around feet
banded leg extension right with one foot in handle and other foot on the band holding it down Lying down
(you can really feel the quad in this)
banded leg extension left
repeat all

Group 3
wall sit with fabric loop and loop band doing abductions with legs and pull with loop around wrists (works the upper back and chest)
triceps extension right tubing standing on one end and using the other for OH extension
triceps extension left tubing
seated V-sit or not with loop over arms doing robot arms
repeat all

bonus plank

Belinda, that is nice that you got to have breakfast with friends and are having such a good time. That was a real treat. I have not really like Carolines workout so much. She really targets an area and they are not too long, but I do not like having to turn to look at the tv to read the tips and what is coming next. It is much better to have someone talk to you. I know a lot of people seem to love her.

Debbie, nice work with Raw Mega Mix yesterday and today's treadmill work.

Jolie, you are doing great with your strength and cardio. I have thought about signing up for a couple of months of Cathe Live. again. I am really looking forward to the STS 2.0 workouts.

Cam, nice work with Penny Sunday. It has been busy here too.

I am planning on completing Michelle Briehler's 2 week program, Ignite. I am a day behind, but did Day 1 Upper Body w/finisher. My arms are shaking. A super set of chest and shoulders 12-15 reps, 3 rounds , Biceps & Triceps (same format) and a light weight finisher of 30 sec of push ups, biceps and triceps with tubing and a shoulder move. 30 sec each/ 3 rounds. This was a really challenging heavy weight workout. I did warm up with about two-thirds of Cathe Perfect HIiT, just to get some heat going before lifting.

I never do an actual instructor rotation, so we'll see how it goes. I love Michelle's workouts, so it should be easy. Tomorrow is Leg Day.

Good workouts today Ladies!

So I'm thinking MegaMix 1 and using the bands created a knot in my upper back again. It's better today but yesterday I was in some pain. I put an Icy Hot patch on it last night and it feels much better today. I guess I just can't do band work, for some reason it really irritates my muscles. So today I just walked on my treadmill again. I didn't want to lift and irritate it more. Hopefully by tomorrow it will be back to normal.

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 415 calories (holy moly!), went 2.20 miles, did 5153 steps and HR was140/167.

Jolie - Great job with your workout yesterday! Glad you are listening to your body and only don't exercises that agree with you. I am also glad my knee is getting so much better. Hopefully this summer I will get in some excellent workouts and I'm hoping to be able to use my Max trainer again.

Diane - I don't know how you can stand it with all that work going on around your house. I agree, I wish you would have found a different house in another area. That is ridiculous. Hopefully they will be done soon. That has been going on for a long time. I'm sorry to hear about your knee! Ouch!!! I'm not looking forward to all that yard work and gardening. I hope my knee can stand it. Hope yours is feeling better. Great job with your workout!! I'm staying away from band work for a while.

Cam - Have fun doing Michelle's program. I used to only do rotations and stick to it strictly. Now I just do whatever. Maybe this summer I will try to follow a rotation. I always got excellent results following something.

Belinda - Hope you are having fun!! Hopefully it's not raining too badly there, I saw on the news that FL is getting hit hard.

Have a great day everyone!!

I am so sore in my upper body from yesterday's workout :) I am lifting heavier weights now and I am seeing some nice results. Today I walked uphill on the TM for 40 minutes, traveled 2.1 miles and burned 389 calories.

Debbie, nice job on the TM walk today. I never do band work, it always bothers me and I run into trouble when using them in my workouts. I always opt for a heavier dumbbell or use my cable machine if I can.

Diane Sue, great job on the workouts the past few days. My knee is sore today and I put CBD on it and it feels so much better.

Cam, I always want to do a rotation and then I stop, the only ones I have ever stuck to are STS and Body Beast. Good luck and I know you can do it!

I hope you all have great workouts today. The sun is shining, and I have a smile on my face :) Make it a great day.

I just watched Caroline's video about her app - it sounds like it's free. It goes live on April 28 and she will start a BEAST rotation on May 1 similar to how she did it on Youtube. I might do it, we'll see. I'm happy to see her back in the game.

The app website is: cgxapp.com

Today I did CDorner Fast Basic Step #283, heart rate 121/151, 158 calories, 3,153 steps 33 minutes. I then did her Step and strength with bands that she did today, 33 minutes, heart rate 126/154, 157 calories, 2,304 steps. This used a loop band and alternated basic moves with a loop band segment. Most bane work hit lower body and there was some robot arms, and rows mixed in. No overhead or shoulder work :) .
I finished with CDorner Stretch after Step, 17 minutes, 33 calories.
Total time was 83 minutes, 348 calories, 5,457 steps.

Speaking of Caroline's streaming, I was on CDorner's website yesterday and there was a link for monthly subscribers and a pay button on it. I did not go far enough to see if it costs as I did not want to find myself paying for something.

Cam, nice work with Day one of Michelle Briehler's rotation. I am not usually very good at following rotations, but have done a few. I like doing something to get the joints moving before I start up a weight workout too.

Debbie, nice work on the treadmill today. I used to feel that way about bands, but after working with physical therapy and Chris, I am doing a lot better. I think maybe it is how we are doing it. Chris keeps saying stay out of your neck and talks through those moves. Also she some moves she stresses not bending at the wrists. I like to do those moves from CDorner's Total Body foam roller work I posted for the upper back part when I am done. Maybe you are going to heavy with the tubing and causing you to use the traps and neck too much? I am not real sore after yesterday's band workout. The moves today were fine as she did this after her lower body weight workout today. I will do weights another day, but probably not the one from today unless I see she is not doing a lot of glider work. I bought a knee pad to use when I go back outside to do more work. My husband wanted to get me some garden thing that had wheels and a seat with a spot to hold plants and things. I told him I am not that far gone yet. I would not drag it out front in front of the neighbors. You know the vanity thing;)

Jolie, great job with the weights and seeing results. My arms are finally getting some of the muscle tone back. Nice work today with the treadmill. I use Salonpas or Volteran on my knee and feet. It helps a lot. I stuck with Body Beast and STS a couple of times. Even did the Body Beast Cardio.

Hi,

Yesterday walk and today walk on the beach. Not much to report, I am at the beach all day long.

Debbie - to download the app it’s free. I believe it’s going to be a paying subscription. She got a lot of negative comments on YT. I will sign up regardless. We are in Jacksonville Fl. very sunny.

Diane - I do like Caroline’s workouts. I don’t like when instructors talk nonstop. I like Caroline workouts, they are effective.

Jolie - you are welcome!

Good night.

Well, I planned to do Michelle's Day 2 Lower Body, but I ended up doing CDorner's 50 min. Leg & Abs. This was really good. My legs and abs are going to feel it tomorrow. She used gliders too for a couple moves and I like that she went at a slower pace. What a burn. Cathe goes too fast for me with gliders, so this was doable. My only negative with her weight workouts is her constant laughing and stopping to do something. She gets so goofy. It ruins my concentration. Otherwise, I loved this.

Tomorrow I will do Michelle Day 3 Cardio Hiit. It looked fun.

I was surprised to get a notification from Caroline on Sunday. I watched a little of it. It was kinda long, but glad she's coming back. I don't know why she is bothered by the negativity on YT. She surpassed a million subscribers rather quickly. I think more love her, than not. I did find her a little hard to understand, so is she still on YT or does she have her own app? My only criticism of Caroline is that for the type of weightlifting she does, she should have voice over form pointers during her workouts.

Good workouts today!

Today I had an excellent workout, I did Cathe Live Vertical Loading 2 and did not use the ball but a bench to avoid low back issues. I did use the ball for Preacher Curls and that is it. I also used the Max Trainer on Manual Mode for all the leg portion and worked the legs good. I used resistance #6 the entire time and by the end of the workout I was fighting for it! Total workout time was 57 minutes and I burned 471 calories. The is a circuit style workout, 2 rounds of each circuit and move on to the next one. There are no set reps in this workout I basically went to failure.

Round #1- 2 times round
Seated Overhead Press- 15's
Standing Bicep Curls, 21's- 12's
Seated Overhead Triceps Ext.- 12's
Cable Pullovers- 30#
Chest Flys- 12's
Max Trainer- 2 minutes

Round #2
Incline Front Raise- 8's
Incline Bicep Curls- 15's
Close Grip Chest Press- 20's
1 Arm Cable Back Rows- 30#
Chest Press- 20's
Max Trainer- 2 minutes

Round #3
Seated Rear Delt Flys- 8's
Preacher Curls- 15's
Lying Triceps Ext.- 15's
Wide Grip Pull Downs- 50#
Chest Press- 20's
Max Trainer- 2 minutes

I bet I will be feeling this workout tomorrow.

Diane Sue, nice workout yesterday! I might sign up for Caroline's workouts but only after I do Cathe Live for a while and maybe check out the new STS workouts.

Belinda, enjoy your day at the beach! It is beautiful here today at the beach on the west coast.

Cam, nice job on the workout yesterday. I will probably do the Caroline Girvan workouts but only after I do some Cathe Live and maybe the new STS, we shall see!

Debbie, I hope you have a great workout today.

Roselyn, nice job on the workout and how is the grandbaby doing?

Make it a lovely day. Where is Doreen lately?

Today I walked on my treadmill again. The knot is almost gone so I didn't want to chance it.

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 421 calories, went 2.17 miles, did 5126 steps and HR was 141/167.

I have a meeting at 1 so I have to make this quick.

Belinda - I didn't see any negative comments on YT about her announcement, in fact everyone seem ecstatic about her being back - I only one saw one negative comment about cost and it was harsh or anything. I didn't realize she was going to charge after 14 free days, which I might try just to see if I like it. And then it depends on how much it is. I could have sworn she said it was no charge but just donations? I guess I heard wrong. She's hard to understand sometimes.

Diane - I think Chris takes donations so that might be what the pay thing was all about on her website. LOL on the garden cart - I have one and love it! I can't sit on the ground for too long, it cause me pain everywhere. So the cart with wheels has helped me a great deal. I guess my vanity thing is gone! LMAO!!

Jolie - Great workout today! You are killing it!!

Cam - I agree about Chris, she gets goofy and it throws me off. I wish she'd just do a workout and be serious about it. Sometimes she says funny things, but all the distractions turn me off. That's why I don't do many of her workouts anymore.

Have a great day everyone! Gotta go!

Today I did Raw Boxing and Legs, 36 minutes, heart rate 128/155, 183 calories and followed it with Raw Day 3 legs from shoulders and legs, 17 minutes, 44 calories, heart rate 95/121. I finished off with Raw stretch workout that is 7 minutes and added Yoga with Adriene Upper Back Love stopping after the down dog segment as I was running out of time. This was 24 minutes, 39 calories. TOtal time was 77 minutes, 266 calories and total steps today was only 1,721. Steps were mostly from Raw Boxing.

Raw Boxing and legs
Boxing
squats 15# dbs
Boxing
side lunge hold 15# dbs
boxing
reverse lunge with a smal turn for obliques 15# dbs
boxing
all weight moves done together 15# dbs
boxing
cooldown

Raw Day 3 Strength legs
Squats 1 1/2's 5 sets 10 reps 2 sets with 15# dbs and switched to 20's
bridges with step 20# db 5 sets of 10 reps followed by 10 reps pulses

Debbie, good idea to not take aa chance. Great calorie burn for your treadmill walk. I know Chris takes donations. She sometimes takes time to thank her donors. Maybe that is it. I skip her chatter at the start most of the time. Sometimes she doesn't chat much. I don't think she likes a lot of chatter during her more choreographed step workouts because it throws her off. A few times she has sort of asked for viewers to not make comments during the workout as that means they are not doing it.
I would imagine if I had the handy rolling seat for garden work neighbors would think it was a smart thing and wish they had one LOL My husband put it in my list on Amazon.

Belinda, I am glad it is sunny for your vacation and the rain is stopped. Great that you are getting in your walks on the beach.

Roselyn, nice work on leg day and the 12 minute tabata.

Cam, I almost did CDorner legs today. I was concerned about the gliders. I wasted half an hour going over Cathe's lower body workouts and they all had gliders. It would not be bad if it didn't mean me moving equipment and arranging a spot to do gliders. My space does not support the gliders. I guess I could have subbed. That is why I ended up using Kelly.

Jolie, nice workout today. I like the way you put the Max Trainer in for the lower body portions. I like the ball for preacher curls and I like doing biceps incline on the ball as it keeps me from using my shoulders when doing the curls. I think it isolates better. I have to be careful of my back.

Today I did Day 3 & 4 of Michelle's Ignite. I did Cardio Hiit. It was about 20 min. I like her cardio. She did 9 moves 30/15, 3 rounds. I like that it was lower impact too. Then I did Day 4 Upper Body w/ Finisher. About 30 min. Same format as Day 1. 12-15 reps, 3 rounds. Different arm exercises and she added back work and eliminated chest. I was happy. My pecs are still sore from Tuesday. I got great strength in this week. My lower body is feeling Chris's workout from yesterday. Tomorrow is a rest day. Penny has a 30 min. STRONG rotation going this month. Total body strength workouts. It looks challenging and fun. These will be great for summer. But I think l wil do one this weekend.

Weird weather today. Downpours and then sunny and it repeats. We were supposed to have severe storms and tornado warnings tonight, but it fizzled. Nice out and 60's. Getting ready to walk the dog.

Diane, the gliding has my inner thighs pretty sore. I like the way she did the gliding. It was slower so the disk doesn't slip. When I try to do those bat shit crazy fast movements, the glider slips away and I get frustrated.

Good workouts Ladies! Hubby is waiting for me to walk.

Have a great weekend!

This morning I walked on my treadmill for about 16 minutes to warmup and then I did RAW Glute Finisher. Had a good workout. I've been using my lightest cloth band - the pink one - but I think next time I can move back up to my medium green band. I like this workout for the outer thighs and hamstrings, it is a burner.

Total workout was 43 minutes, burned 304 calories, did 2579 steps and HR was 124/162.

Diane - Great job on your workouts yesterday, I bet your legs are sore! LOL on the rolling seat your DH put in the Amazon cart. Just get it, it saves so much on the knees and back. I love mine!!

Cam - Nice job with your workout! We had 40 degree weather on Tuesday, 80 on Wednesday and today it's 70 but will rain and drop to the 50s this afternoon. Crazy weather!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi, sorry I didn’t check in yesterday. We went to the beach all day. No walking yesterday, I had zero energy.

Debbie - it wasn’t about the announcement. I think people are excited for the new app. People are something on social media like Instagram or Facebook. Caroline mentioned she is not changing her style of training except her beginner one that she will release on der App. I never heard anything about donations? Maybe it was someone else on YT? Caroline is putting free workouts for 3 years on YT during the pediatric. She deserves to make money. Her workouts are good, Cathe’s charges $$ for her workouts so does Kelly.
