Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for April 2023

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday, I have been extremely busy here at work. OMG, I haven't had a minute for anything. I have 4 events this week and I finally have a bit of a breather today. However, I came in early and have to work until 9 p.m. tonight. I have the Honors Choir and Band Festival happening this evening. Looking forward to it!!

The knot has eased up since my DH used the FitRX Pro gun on the knot the other night. He did it gently and then I iced it and it seems to be getting better. Hopefully. I've only been walking on my treadmill yesterday and this morning. Tomorrow I will be taking a rest day since I'm working so late. I will need an extra hour of sleep rather than a workout.

Great job with your workouts everyone. So sorry I can't do personals, I just don't have the time. Next week will be better for sure!!!

Yesterday was a rest day. Today was an uphill walk on the TM, 1 hour 20 minutes, traveled 4.3 miles and I burned 733 calories. This was a "butt burner" workout since the incline was at a high level the majority of the walk. Average heart rate was 120 max was 180.

Debbie, good luck with your event tonight, it sounds like a lot of fun! I miss going to school performances, now that my kids are out of school.

Doreen, nice job on the workout and awesome that it took place in Hawaii! Screw the cold weather, bring on the sun!

Diane Sue, way to go on the workout yesterday, that looks like a great workout!

Belinda, welcome home.

Roselyn, I cannot believe that your grand baby is 4 months old already!

I hope you all have great workouts today.

Well - no snow overnight- yeah. But a lot of rain so that's good. I did RWH Back, Bi, Shoulders this morning - well, I ran out of time and only did one set of the bicep exercises. I guess I'm trying to get ready for STS 2.0 by getting back to Cathe level strength.

I bypassed Day 10 of Ignite Cardio & Abs. Kinda wanted something different than floor cardio. So I did CDorner 30 min Vertical Step. It was fun and the music was good but it didn't do much for me, so I added combos 1-5 of IMax 4. That kicked up the heart rate. I am liking IMax 4.

Looking forward to tomorrow's workout of upper body.

Good workouts everyone!

Evening,

I saw the orthopedic for my right knee today, I got a shot. My orthopedics took X-ray's of my fractured finger, he said its healing nicely. It's been only 3 weeks since I fractured my finger, it can take up to 6 weeks for it completely to heal. He still wants me to buddy tape it for another week, than start moving my finger.

Afterwards I ended up in the ER.The last 2 weeks I been having chest, every time I breath in/out my chest hurts. I didn't pay much attention in FL. I figured, I sucked up too much sand or got a cold. I am back home, it still hurts. They ran a chest X-rays, EKG's, checked for blood cots (it runs in my family). The x-rays showed something that they want me to see the Cardiology.

It doesn't look like I will get a workout in anytime soon except keep walking.

I will catch up on personals later.

Hello, everyone. I hope you don't mind me dropping in. I have a question to ask. A while back, I was sort of sifting through some of the check-ins, and I'm pretty sure I saw a reference in this one to some sort of chair-based cardio for people with lower body injuries??? I have some major Achilles tendon issues and am probably looking at long-term rehab (hopefully not surgery!!). But I thought it might be a good idea to pursue this option. I appreciate any help you may be able to give. Thank you!

Hi Shannon!

That would be me, I just had knee surgery and had to do seated workouts for a few weeks. Not sure if you are a subscribe to Kelly Coffey Meyers website but she has a RAW Box Sit workout that I did quite a bit. It really gets your heart rate up and it's a fun workout. I also did DCFitt workouts from YouTube, which are free, and she has some seated workouts on her channel. If you look at the playlists, you will see seated workouts and knee friendly workouts. I know you have an achilles issue but these should work for you. So just search for DC Fitt workouts on Youtube, view her channel and choose Playlists. There will be workouts in categories that make it easy to find.

Hope this helps!!

Hi all! No workout today, I worked late last night and just didn't want to get up early. I might take tomorrow off as well because I have to work a bit late tonight as well. The knot in my upper back is getting better so maybe it would be good to just not workout for a few more days.

Jolie - My Honors Choir and Band Festival went great! We had standing room only in the gymnasium, it was the biggest crowd I've ever had at this event. It went really well and the kids were great!! Good job on your treadmill work yesterday! I might try my Max Trainer soon, I'm feeling pretty good with the knee.

Diane - Great job with your leg workout yesterday, it looked like a good one. You must be busy because you haven't done personals in a while. I can relate! This week I haven't had time for much of anything but work. It's Thursday, though, so only two more days to go! My DH and I are celebrating out 27th anniversary on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

Doreen - No snow is always a good thing! It has been so cold here again, we had frost this morning. I'm tired of it! Great job on your workout yesterday!

Cam - I used to LOVE the Imax workouts. I miss being able to do them. Those definitely get the HR up. Good job on the two cardio workouts!

Belinda - Dang girl, if it's not one thing it's another for you. I hope all goes well with the cardiology. Keeping you in my prayers. I ordered Plantiful Kiki's recipe book again since she redid it and has a few new recipes in it. The first one I bought from her is almost unreadable I've used it so much. Plus I spilled stuff on it and it made the pages stick together. So I'm happy to have a new one. I am actually reading the beginning of it where she discusses how she lost 70#s. I need to get back on the band wagon, I've been reallty lax with my eating lately and I can tell!!

Hope you all have a great workout!!! Hi to Roselyn and Roxie!!

Debbie - thank you! I really appreciate it! I don't subscribe to Kelly's workouts, but depending on what the doc says, I'll check into it. And I'll definitely check into DCFitt. I hope you are recovering well from your knee surgery. Knees sure can be picky things.

Today I did CDorner Cardio Kickboxing 32 minutes, heart rate 139/159, 187 calories. I followed this with RWH just doing the back, 25 minutes, 68 calories, heart rate 95/127. I finished with Yoga with Adriene neck shoulder back quickie, 10 minutes, 17 calories. Total time was 67 minutes, 272 calories 3,516 steps. I had to break up the workout because some things came up and my husband brought in lunch so I did the weight work and stretch afterward.
Back
One Arm Row 20# x 12 reps 3 sets
finisher barbell rows 20 reps and band pulls 25#
pullovers 15# dumbbell 12 reps 3 sets
finisher barbell row 25# 20 reps and supine band pulls
one arm angled row 15# dumbbell 12 reps 3 sets
one arm seated band pulls
(this was lower than when I did it in February, but I do not want to set off the back and shoulders which are kind of creaky anyway)

Doreen, nice job yesterday on RWH back, shoulders, and biceps. I was short on time, but would like to go back and do shoulders. Maybe not biceps right now as my arms have been waking me up hurting and tingly after Caroline this week. I am trying to get some strength back up. It is very wet here.

Cam, I thought about doing that vertical step today but decided to do something else and stay off the step.

Belinda, I am sorry about the chest and the finger. It does mess with your workouts. I am glad the finger is healing though.

Debbie, taking breaks is good for us sometimes. I have been busy, but try to drop in and read and post a workout. My husband has some days off so we are getting some things done. I am glad the knot in your upper back is getting better.

Roselyn, nice job on Beast Mode Lower Body today.

Hi,

I took two short 1 mile walks today. Until I see the cardiology I will only walk. I can't do any weight workouts with my finger. I probably need to give my knee a break from the shot yesterday. Knee is not happy today. DH thinks it needs time to break up.

Debbie - I need a break. Thanks for the prayers! I sure need it. When I saw the orthopedic, he gave me an exercises for my knee. Those are home therapy exercises before hip or knee replacements. They are mostly BW strengthening/stretching. I was hoping for exercises I can do/or shouldn't with weight. I have not ordered Kiki's new book. I am lax too with my eating. I am tired of eating tofu, lol.

Roselyn - thank you so much! I need all the prayers for a good outcome.

Diane - thank you and yes, it will mess with your workouts. My finger still hurts but it's healing nicely.

Good night.

I did Day 11 of Ignite. Upper Body with Finisher. 5 moves. 30/15, 4 rounds. Also a 3 round Finisher using tubing and light weights. Great upper body work and everything was worked. My arms are fatigued. Now taking the dog for a walk. Can't wait to hit the pillow.

I went for a bike ride outside yesterday it was so nice. Biking outside is so muc harder than my inside bike for some reason - I was sore and tight this morning. So I did Perfect30 Yoga strength.

I also had a dr appt yesterday to check my thyroid meds and try to figure out why I gained 20 lbs out of seemingly nowhere! I think my activity level outside of workout has just dropped but I haven't adjusted my food intake to adapt but I figured getting the thyroid checked wouldn't hurt.

Yesterday was a rest day, I am sore and tired, and it felt good to rest. Today, my gym room is getting painted, so I went for a walk with my puppy, who walks very fast, and we went for 2.5 miles through the hill areas in my neighborhood and had a great walk. I was huffing and puffing by the time I got home, and I burned 444 calories. Tomorrow I am meeting my parents for breakfast so no workout for me. My dad is turning 90 years young on May 11, and I want to meet him just in case I cannot get out to the Palm Springs area on his exact birthday.

Great job on the workouts yesterday!

Doreen, I bet the weight gain is because of our huge winter we had and most of us were unable to be as active as we usually are and the weight creeps on without us knowing it. I do not weight myself, but I started again because I can now see when the weight is coming back.

Debbie, so happy for you and your event, that sounds amazing for the school and the kids!

Belinda, good luck with your doctor's appointment about your lungs and your finger.

Cam, nice job on the workouts the past two days. I wish I could workout at night, but I could never sleep, it revs me up too much.

Diane Sue, great job on your last workout!

Make it a great day!

Today I did CDorner Fast Basic Step #283, 34 minutes, 163 calories, heart rate 122/156, 3,363 steps. I then did Abs, 100 sit ups, 1 segment from CDorner abs with Pilates ball (she had it under her back and that was making my neck hurt and low back hurt so stopped) and did LITE 6 Pack Abs #2, 21 minutes, 63 calories, heart rate 99/125. I finished off with Perfect 30 Flow timesaver yoga Strength and Mobility 22 minutes, 45 calories, heart rate 84/106, 56 calories. Total time was 67 minutes, 271 calories, 3,529 steps.

Belinda, good for you getting out for two walks yesterday and keeping mobile.

Cam, nice work with Day 11 of Ignite Upper Body with Finisher and the dog walk yesterday.

Doreen, I am sure the bike ride felt good yesterday. It is too wet and rainy here to do much outside. I hope your thyroid tests okay.

Jolie, it will be nice having your workout space freshly painted when you get back into it. Enjoy your time tomorrow with your parents and happy birthday to your Dad who is turning 90.

Hi,

No walk today. Today rained all day long.

I have to see the cardiology for pulmonary hypertension. I am taking things easy until I see the cardiology.

Diane - I have to break it up. They don't want me to overdue it. Great job on your workout today.

Julie - thank you.
